Character-Specific Pages (CSPs) are created when individual characters have so many trope examples that they can't reasonably be included on a shared page.
The Administrivia Character-Specific Pages policy details the rules that apply to these pages. All Character-Specific Pages must also follow the basic How to Create a Character Page policy, as well as the wiki's more general policies about spoilers and examples.
This cleanup thread handles the following tasks:
- Reviewing and approving new CSP proposals. All new potential CSPs must be reviewed and, if necessary, cleaned up before they're created.
- Agreeing on page names for new CSPs.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a new CSP is created.
- Reviewing existing CSPs if there's a concern that they need cleanup, or if it's believed that the character may no longer qualify for a page.
- Merging existing CSPs into other character pages when necessary.
- Ensuring that wicks are updated when a CSP is removed/merged.
- Creating, updating and cutting redirects, as necessary, to reflect these splits and merges.
Crowners are not normally required but, where appropriate, can be used to formalise decisions on any of these points.
If a character no longer qualifies for a CSP, it's often more practical to turn the CSP into a redirect than to cut the page entirely. This keeps the page history visible to users, and also helps to steer offsite 'inbound' traffic (search engine results) to the right place. With that in mind, cut requests for CSPs may be declined and referred to this thread if they don't have a clear consensus.
Comments linking back to this thread can be added to CSPs when needed - e.g. to confirm their creation was approved, to warn tropers that a cleanup is in progress, or to note the date and outcome of a more recent review.

Mod update 07 Mar 2024, reflecting new CSP policy, updated again 22 Mar 2024 to mention redirects for removed CSPs
- Other options must have been tried first, like splitting pages into further groups.
- The character's folder is cleaned up beforehand, fixing any Zero-Context Examples and Wall of Text entries and removing any outdated, misused, or non-character tropes.
- A character's folder is at least 6,000 words/40,000 characters (with spaces). Here is a byte counter.note
- The current character page bypasses technical limitations and requires a split up.
- A single character takes up the majority of a page or is disproportionately bigger than other folders.
Splitting a character into their own page is a major change and needs to be run by the community before it is enacted. Even if you believe a character meets these requirements, they should be run through this thread first. Having other tropers take a look can help spot issues you may not notice or believe to be issues.
Per How to Create a Character Page, character-specific pages should only include tropes that describe the character. These tropes should fall under Characterization Tropes or one of its related indexes, unless they're recurring character traits (distinctive things that the character does repeatedly). If you're unsure what counts as a character trope, you can ask the Are these Character Tropes? thread.
If you have concerns with a general character page, they have their own separate cleanup thread, as do the self-demonstrating character pages.

The Supernovas will be tricky. We might need to discuss that one in particular at length. I think characters safe to stay would go like Luffy, Doffy, Law, Oden and Big Mom. Merging any of those back or trying to group them with other characters would create a huge page no matter what.

Character Specific Page cleanup
I've wanted to ask about Eda and Lilith's page. Both of them are around 78k and 64k respectively and their parent page (Owl House and Emperor's Coven) at 67k and 59k respectively. I think they can be merged back especially considering that the former only has like King & Hooty there and the latter has Kikimora as the only major character in the list.

Is that really necessary? I mean, the policy isn't "wipe out every character page that doesn't fit the exact criteria" right? I mean by that logic wouldn't Amphibia lose literally every single character page it has other than maybe Marcy's? Cause I know of Anne and Sasha were added back to the Plantars and the Toads they wouldn't be approaching 200k bytes. Hell Andrias and the Core would only barely take the Newtopia page over the limit of it even reaches that far. That just... feels a bit too aggro in the opposite direction IMO.

Unfortunately, rules are rules but on the bright side though, everyone else on The Owl House will stay. Luz, Amity, Belos and Hunter are big enough on their own and Collector is too much of a Walking Spoiler to be merged back.

So above, I was being sarcastic with my suggestion... but as unenthused as I am about the mandate, with the new rules in place, Amphibia is gonna have to have all five of it's character exclusive pages get nuked and merged back into The Plantar Family for Anne, The Toads for Sasha, and Newtopia for Marcy. Andrias and the Core could be moved off to a shared page with antagonistic figures related to their dominion... I'm gonna have to go to bed soon, so whoever wants to take up that task is free to do so.

Question: Star Wars: The Old Republic - Major Characters is just under 233K characters, while Star Wars: The Old Republic - Sith Emperor is 43K plus, so that's good, right?
I feel the best way to do this may be to go through each individual page (Anime & Manga, Comic Books, etc.), starting with the main page.
Freddy Krueger may need to be merged back.
What about characters like Michael Myers and Jason Voorhees from multiple films?

@Hello, I think your Dragon Age suggestions for Origins, 2, and Inquisition all look great. I'm less aware of this series, so I'm not sure what to suggest for Recurring (other than a simple split into three groups, perhaps?).
Hey - I suppose his page could be combined with the Supporting Characters and Rogues Gallery under a Prime Marvel Universe GR index — without the Demons, that's 155k characters. Demons could stay separate. I'm no expert at comic series though.

Anyway, I assume Marvel Comics: Steve Rogers (under 50K) can be merged back with Captain America: Title Character (under 30K)? I'll make it a redirect instead of a cut. And since it's kinda like a group similar to Ghost Rider's thing, I think Captain America: Title Character can stay.
EDIT: The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild — Ganondorf is probably fine. It's over 120K; The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: Ganon and Yiga Clan is over 151K. (EDIT: The inconsistency of the dash and the colon irks me; permission to use the colon for both?)
