[up] That plus I may be concerned about the chances of the Characters/ examples elevating the ratio of ZCE examples.

If you want me to do a partial check on the character sheets only, I can do that.

I made some changes to my proposed page. I also added some more examples.

I think that Second Year Protagonist could be split, or used for 'enforced tropes' only, being put into No Straight Examples, Please!.

[up] How would the "enforced only" proposal work? Do we have enough examples that could allow that without eventually sending it into "not thriving"?

Since we have multiple proposals, I'll start up a page action crowner.

Okay. Since we got 98 pages (according to a text editing program), I'll do every other page.

Be back in a bit!

And now, the wick check for doing every other Characters/ wick plus the final one to make it 50.

    The result
Correct indicates notes of standard school life or how their grade is relevant to the plot.

Yeah, I knew it. Vast majority are ZCE or chairs. Was surprised to see some correct uses.

[seniors aren't] allowed into clubs or student council and a bunch of other stuff

What? I've never heard that; in fact many Japanese high schools require students to be part of a club.

Calling in favor of cleaning. Let's see if we can save this.

In addition, sending the freshman and senior struggles to the Salvage Yard has unanimous support.

We got 227 wicks to check. If it's ZCE or treated as chairs, pull it.

Okay, going through and cleaning up the examples. I'll need a second opinion on the Characters.Cross Channel entry.

  • Second Year Protagonist: The dynamics are there, but the actual school system makes it difficult to say how strictly accurate it is.

I marked it down as unclear when doing the character sheet wick check.

Okay, Characters/ have been skimmed. I have a feeling that some that were PSOC during the check are now more fleshed out. That's a good sign. The remaining wicks are either correct or uncertain.

What's concerning is the wick count now: 111. I haven't checked the work pages completely; we'll see how the wick count is once that's done.

Okay, moving on with the cleaning and removing bad examples, I'm thinking the final count will be healthy enough to keep the trope around. Those of you that expanded on the entries that were previously marked ZCE or chairs, good job. [tup]

Since that'll be the case, I'll add the trope to Square Peg, Round Trope as a reminder.

Okay, looks like I'm done wick cleaning. The remaining wicks are either sufficient in context or are uncertain, or serve another purpose.

Time to skim through the trope page. We can comment out the ZCE or chairs entries instead of removing them. Crosswicking in either direction is permitted.

Edit: Salvage Yard option is done. [tup]

Noting that I started a draft for Senior Year Struggles. Looks like Berrenta commented out the ZC Es on the page[awesome]

Does the description need to be amended? Should we clarify that it's not just about any sophomore protag?

You know what, I might consider proposing a trope for Freshman Fears instead.

Okay, exported as much as possible to work pages, so wicks are now up to 88. Now, to scan through the others to see if we can expand on some on-page examples.

Edit: 85 now; one's got forgotten chairs examples, one was from a page added after the sweep, and the third one I will contest here.

Edit 2: Does Flip Flappers fit some other trope or will it fit the proposed freshman trope?

I'm not sure if it could be included or not, though I will keep the example in mind.

EDIT: I have now proposed a trope page for Freshman Fears.
