How to Do a Wick Check has everything you need written. "Correct Use: 15% ..." is not a wick check, it's just the summary. Your entries at TRS Queue don't show the full investigation process, so they may be denied when it's their turn. You need to make Sandbox.Broken Messiah Wick Check and Sandbox.Cant Refuse The Call Anymore Wick Check and show how you've got those numbers in a way others can verify.

Over in the Is this tropeworthy/Chairs thread, concerns have been raised again about Unintentional Period Piece. More specifically, its tropeworthiness and whether or not it should be disambiguated. Should we reopen the old thread or make a new thread to determine what to do? Or should we not bring it back at all?

I think it would be better to make a new thread with a new wick check. The previous wick check is almost two years old, so it would probably better to make a new one.

Edit: That, and the previous thread was already several pages long if I'm not mistaken, so I don't want new discussion to get drowned out by old discussion (in case there are people who are new to the conversation and wouldn't know where to start reading).

I finished my Evil Is Sexy Wick Check. I think I have to bring it in, given that it's an audience reaction but most of the examples (that have context) lean toward objective design aspects, but IDK what a good solution would be.

Reposting this from yesterday since it got buried in discussions about how to run wick checks: I think Mix And Match would work better in the Just for Fun namespace for the following reasons:

• All on-page examples are just "A concept + B concept +... = Z work", which is barebones context at best.
• The discussion page has noted that Mix And Match has had issues as far back as 2012; one thread notes that the page reads like several miniature work pages, while the other explicitly says that it feels like a Just for Fun version of Genre-Busting and wonders why it's in mainspace.
• A quick check of off-page examples reveals that they vary wildly in contents from the above format to "character is a combination of these two traits" to misuse for X Meets Y to "thing can be a mix of multiple components".
• The tropes listed in the "See also" section (X Meets Y, Recycled In Space) are already in Just for Fun.

How would I go about preparing for a namespace change TRS?

What is the policy on changing a Useful Notes page?

There is a Pope Alexander VI Useful Notes page, but nothing about his children, or the Borgias in general. I asked on "Ask the Tropers" about how to suggest that either Cesare and Lucrezia get their own pages, or change Alexander's page to a general "The Borgias" page. Someone told me to just go ahead and do it. Is that really okay? It seems like something that should be run by someone first.

Also, launching a new Useful Notes page? There is no page at all for the Medici, and I end up writing overly long entries on trope pages to give context to some of the situations involving them. Should I put this through Trope Launch Pad? Someone said it's a free launch, but it seems more like it should go through TLP.

Would it be a good idea to make a weapons sandbox akin to Sandbox.Appearance Tropes Cleanup? Just like, a summary of PSOC weapons tropes as they're encountered. If so, I can do that. (That is, unless a page already exists.)

^I'm pretty sure either Macron or Gaston has a running list (I remember coming across one when wick cleaning), but I can't remember for sure

Macron made both of them and put links to them in her signature. The appearance trope sandbox was originally made for the appearance trope thread back when that thread was still used for TRS-level actions instead of just cleanup, and she kept it around to make it easier to keep track of that thread's unfinished business.

I think there was a thread for weapon tropes, but I'm not sure if it was used for TRS-level actions like the appearance trope thread and the Badass Tropes thread.

Hmm, it reads like an objective trope and evil + sex appeal is a common trend that been observed. I think troping the concept is more useful than letting people trope evil characters they find hot.

There was this previous TRS here that wanted to make the trope objective so maybe use that angle.

EDIT: Might want to read this TRS where the trope's trope worthiness was put into question and some people suggested some rename and scope revisions.

Alright, that's probably the best way to tackle it. I just don't know what we'd end up doing with the very few legitimately subjective examples...

I don't mind keeping it YMMV.

TRS can have some rapid-fire closures if everyone leans into these. House Rules just needs someone to weigh in on Nona's video game question before he can finish the final stretch.

Personally I think Evil Is Sexy has more subjective examples than intended (Bowser comes to mind), but the objective trope could be valuable.

I was expecting it to be about half and half, but -shrug-

I can only go by what the check says, and the check says it's overwhelmingly objective.

I made the second thread in the Queue and marked the first one as being on hold due to the lack of a proper wick check.

And as the one who did the original Wick Check for Megalodon, I've given Yindee the go-ahead to redo it, since my own version was deemed unacceptable.
