Are my ideas really that bad? Because I have more...For example Masked Rider could be improved by having 'A friend in need' in continuity, and by carefully altering the story that we got, until it's not the story of a friendless loser alien prince from a planet that was never acknowledged in Power Rangers after Season 3, it's the story of the rightful King of Edenoi travelling to Earth to protect it , and his new friends from his uncle Count Dregon the man who killed his father and mother, later on it could be revealed that Dregon and the others were being controlled by the true villains (represented by Neo Organism from ZO and Emperor Crisis from Black RX), who are much stronger than the mind controlled 'villains', requiring our hero to access more of his power, unlocking the ZO and J forms, but before that Count Dregon and his crew can die protecting his nephew the rightful king of Edenoi, (note that Lexian doesn't need to be dead, as he could be acting as regent until Dex is of age.)

I've been developing an idea for Fan Fic based on ABC Studios Production series The Catch.

It's more Slice of Life genre, so obviously No Antagonist, and there's no Shipping.

It could be considered a Bottle Episode due to being set in one location (a restaurant) - and a Minimalist Cast of six people - Alice Vaughan, Valerie Anderson, Holly and three other characters I've yet to decide upon.

One character is modelled physically upon Eliza Harmon/Trajectory, from The Flash (2014), and in Hypothetical Casting terms, is even portrayed by Allison Paige, but other than that, shares nothing in common with the character from that show.

It does have some divergences from canon, namely:

  • Holly was never a receptionist for Margot Bishop.

  • Holly has a Back Story and is less of a Flat Character than in Canon

  • It goes differently from the canon of The Catch somewhat slightly, but haven't quite worked out the details.

There certainly is fanfic about this show.

Would this be Alternate Universe Fic, or Alternate Timeline?

I want to write a fanfic for Naruto that is an AU set in the 1970's and it's about old-school First Edition Dungeons & Dragons, involving characters from both the Naruto and Boruto series.

The year is 1979 and the place is the little village of Hidden Leaf, a small and fading commune of hippies, bikers, pagans, and other counter-culture types nestled in the hills of rural West Virginia.

It's written in the style of a nostalgic memoir and is a story within a story involving some of the kids playing Dungeons & Dragons.

Hinata is the Dungeon Master

  • Boruto is a Fighter
  • Sarada is a Magic-User
  • Sumire is a Cleric
  • Shikadai is a Thief
  • Inojin is a Ranger
  • Himawari is a Druid and also a Half-Elf

I've had some time to think about it, and the Darkest Dungeon and Trails in the Sky crossover is definitely a project I want to pursue in the near future. I've fleshed out a few more key plot points too:

  • The story takes place sometime between Ao no Kiseki and Cold Steel IV

  • Estelle and Joshua were sucked into the DD!Verse when they were responding to a Bracer Guild quest about retrieving an artifact in some strange ruins recently excavated in Calvard

  • Estelle wakes up in the sanitarium and is hired by The Heir after she runs all over the Hamlet asking about Joshua

  • She is a major Outside-Context Problem for the DD!Verse because of her ability to use orbal arts, and there are a few scenes where she explains what she knows of the Septian Church's teachings to the religious heroes

  • Estelle is a major asset to have with for a dungeon run because of her sunny nature no matter how terrible things can get, and she cheers up whoever comes with her

  • It turns out Joshua was sent to the Farmstead by the artifact, and he was being nursed to health by The Miller's family when the meteor struck

  • By the time the heir's adventuring party (without Estelle) finds him, he had gone insane from fighting for an eternity and wipes the floor with the party.

  • After the party is warped back to the entrance, they leave and bring Estelle along to calm him down, and a heartwarming reunion ensues including a scene where the two rent a room in the tavern together and "salacious sounds not unfamiliar to those who frequent the brothel were heard all night long, and the couple was completely indisposed for the next day, apologizing profusely for blood-stained linens when they finally checked out".

  • Mysterious packages addressed to Estelle and Joshua start to appear all over the Hamlet, and it turns out the artifact was retrieved by Kevin Graham, who's been trying to get it working again so he can finally bring them home

  • The Heart of Darkness gets a nasty surprise

Here's my idea for a Digimon fanfic: the DigiDestined during 9/11.

Basically, it revolves around the kids' reactions to the terror attacks on the World Trade Center and Pentagon respectively. All of them are horrified at the carnage unfolding in America and panic upon realizing that Mimi has moved to New York. Thankfully she's fine, but she's one of the many people caught in the middle of the attacks.

The crossover idea I mentioned earlier is in full swing and on its first major story arc, but I already have an idea for a sequel. It would be an alternative retelling of Cold Steel 3 and 4, with Estelle and Joshua being far stronger than they were in canon but also more traumatized thanks to their experience in the Darkest Dungeon world.

I have found two crossover fan-fics, one a Continuation Fic of Celebrity Deathmatch called Final Stand of Death and an Alternate Universe Fic called Astral Joinery.

They combines folks of the 1990s and early 2000s. You can ask the writer, she'll be chilled with it.

I'm slightly embarrassed to say, but I've been thinking of writing a human AU for Olympic Mascots.

Similar to school anime, The mascots from Vancouver 2010 to Tokyo 2020 are all going to school to learn multiple sports from the Olympics. The teachers are other past Olympic mascots and The show will have a more serious plotline other than learning the sports. Likely a Coming-Of-Age story for the Tokyo 2020 mascots.

I admit, It's a strange idea, but a fun one too

I am suddenly struck with the drive to write the worst possible bad fanfic I could ever hope to come up with. Something on the level of squirrelking or Peter Chimaera. No idea what fandom I want to do it for, but part of me really wants to do it in The Legend of Zelda starring Link (constantly misspelled as lunk or lonk or lunj or all those fun words), have him fight the evil dark man ganndolf (and maybe feature surprise "cameo" from gandalf) with the Mister sword, to save princes ze;da from his civl cluthes.

The problem is, I can't just misspell everything; I have to sprinkle it with some moments of sudden grammar, or it will get sniffed out a mile away. No expectation for it to suddenly get meme status or anything, but something to waste peoples' time, and maybe get worse as time goes on and see how long I can keep up the charade.

This might be an odd one since it involves a Letsplayer in a fictional medium but Soviet Womble's Pavlov Bullshittery video gave me the idea of a crossover between Clan ZF and Gun Gale Online. Shenanigans abound as Kirito and the gang encounter ZF, who seem more adept at killing each other than actual enemies, with gags such as "Youtube Phenomenon" Womble being utterly unable to throw a grenade that doesn't immediately bounce back and hit him in the face, Cyanide doing....Cyanide things, everyone, including the SWO cast, being utterly unable to tell what Nevil is saying, Digby "accidentally" killing everyone (again) and finally, the clan encountering a player named Hitler and subsequently befriending them, leading to memorable quotes such as, "We gotta protect Hitler!", something that Gambit takes absolute glee in.

[up]SEELE, maybe?

I have an idea for a JoJo fic that's inspired by that one time I binged the Alternate History forums. It would take place in an alternate universe separate from both the original and SBR timelines. The year is 1921, and an archaeologist named Joshua Joestar is forced to cut his work in Mongolia short because of the chaos engulfing the country. Standing between him and a way home are warlords, bandits, and Stand-using agents sent by none other than The Bloody White Baron himself.

Here's something a little more cynical: Valkyria Chronicles and Brothers in Arms. I say 'cynical' because BiA more or less deconstructs a lot of tropes found in Valkyria Chronicles to a practically apocalyptic level.

One day, Platoon E gets a new squad: Only known as "1st Recon", they're supposedly from the 101st like the rest of them, but they're a little...strange at first glance. For one, they all have Vinland accents except for one, and their patches depict a white-headed eagle. The only other identifying patch they have is a strange red, white, and blue flag with stars and stripes, and, quite honestly, they seem quite confused about a lot of things, and claim that they were told they could "go home" once this war was wrapped up. Their leader is a young, but grizzled-looking guy by the name of Baker with enough scars on his face to show he is no stranger to combat, though all of the men in 1st Recon seem to have that certain look in their eyes, to show they've been through the worst that war has to offer. Claude also notices other...quirks about Baker. He tends to gaze into space a lot, and occasionally around base he will catch Baker talking to...someone. It often sounds like a heated conversation too, except whenever Claude gets there...it's only Baker, giving him that far off, strange look.

Gameplay: 1st Recon will sort of have their own gameplay mechanics, deploying on missions as a single two-team unit and only on certain missions with an otherwise overwhelming amount of enemies. Most of these missions will be unique, yet tied into the story, and come with the prefix "Team Mission" to distinguish them from the others. Individual squad members, however, will still be available on normal missions and each will have their unique potentials and quirks, some of which will be explained below. Their weapons are fixed, but they level with the squad, and are dependent on the 'role' of the team. There's several different types of teams, but typically the main two types are the "Fire Team," which fields automatic rifles, and the "Assault Team," which carries shorter range guns like carbines and SMGs. You also have other teams like "MG Team" which consists of a single heavy MG but can deal heavy damage and suppression fire, and has enhanced Interception Fire capabilities, and "AT Team" which is a single "bazooka team" but has increased damage against tanks and fortifications, essentially functioning as a single Lancer unit. (There will be a humorous Squad Story to go with this as Jas and Connor are almost constantly trying to prove the bazooka's superiority over Gallian lancers; stats wise, it is a tradeoff of maneuverability vs. firepower as the AT Team has the movement range of a scout, at the expense of slightly less damage and ammo capacity.) Movement will not be one unit at a time, however; instead, the player will select the entire team and they will run in formation (similar to command unit mechanics) and automatically move into nearby cover when their move ends. The same will apply for attacking, though grenades will be thrown one at a time so not to turn the team into an automatic game breaker. Enemys can only target and damage units one at a time, but, since 1st Recon doesn't wear armor (to the confusion of most of the main cast) their damage resistance is notably lower, and losing a unit decreases their attack capability; they make up for this by having very strong cover and movement bonuses. The player, of course, will have to learn how to utilize cover and fast assault tactics to gain the upper hand in Team Missions.

Where 1st Recon really shines is a custom mechanic called the "Four F's" (Find them, fix them, flank them, finish them) where the Fire Team can establish constant suppression fire (in the chord of the Gunner class, but over a wider area) against an enemy or group of enemies, at which point a red circle will appear over the targeted group's heads (find them) and begin winding down with each turn as long as the enemy remains in the line of fire. When it becomes completely grey, it will shatter and the enemies will be considered "suppressed." (fix them) during this time, they will hunker down deeper behind their cover, and their damage resistance from the front will increase exponentially, however, damage from the sides and back will be increased drastically as well, and their movement range will be almost nil, and they are unable to provide interception fire or retaliation fire. During this time is where the "Assault Team" will make their move, coming in to attack the enemies from their sides and back (flank them) and hopefully take them all out in one fell swoop. (finish them!) The first few "1st Recon Missions" will proceed with individual enemy units to help the player get acquainted to the mechanics, but soon, the Empire will start fielding their own squads trying to use 1st Recon's tactics against them. At some point, Baker will also offer to train some of Claude's soldiers, allowing the player to form their own custom squads using the main members of the cast for Team Missions.

I'm not going to go through all the potentials and quirks of every squad member, but here's some I thought of off the top of my head.

  • Baker:
  • Baker's Dozen ("1st Recon, on me!") Triggers when at least one other member of 1st Recon is on the mission with Baker. Their familiarity with each other makes all 1st Recon units receive a boost to accuracy and damage, and will endure to the end of the mission or until Baker is downed.
  • Unfit ("I never asked to be squad leader.") Will randomly trigger when near an injured or downed unit. Baker is ridden with guilt and loses confidence in his fitness as a squad leader, and thus his accuracy and movement points are diminished when near the downed member.
  • Brothers In Arms ("What makes a good soldier? His brain, or his heart?") after his Squad Story is finished, "Unfit" will change to this. Baker covers for his injured comrade, providing extra defense to both units (or if the unit is downed, extra bleedout time) when in near proximity.
  • The Ghost of You ("I'm not...hiding anything." Bonus points that the potential banner shows Leggett's face instead of Baker's.) Random trigger, but the trigger chance increases drastically if another member of 1st Recon is downed near Baker. He suddenly becomes distracted talking to someone who isn't there...or so it seems. He suffers a penalty to accuracy and command points. After his Squad Story it remains unchanged, but its activation chances remain low and are less affected by injured 1st Recon members.

  • Corrion:
  • Aspiring Leader ("Tell me one thing I haven't followed to the letter...") Corrion is eager to prove his fitness as squad leader to Baker, and as such he puts more concentration on his battle performance, improving accuracy and damage.
  • Broken Trust ("Matt, we are NEVER fighting together again.") "Aspiring Leader" turns into this after his Squad Story, and, interestingly, is one that can be negative or positive depending on the person. Due to unfortunate revelations, Corrion's trust in Baker is irreparably shattered, and he is forced to rely on only himself to make it through. When Corrion is in a remote part of the map away from other squad members, his damage, accuracy, and movement range increases, but if he is near Baker or Paddock, he becomes distracted and wary, decreasing damage, accuracy, and range.

  • Dawson:
  • Superstitious ("Do you believe in fate?") Dawson is a firm believer in the power of destiny, and that everything happens for a reason. [I haven't really decided whether this would be a positive or a negative or what it would entail. Feel free to add your own input.]

  • Paddock:
  • Put Her Down ("Just two in the engine block and that'll be the end of it!") Paddock despises troublesome vehicles. Whenever he is near a damaged friendly vehicle, he becomes distracted by the engine knocking and gets into an argument with the driver over "putting the damn thing out of its misery," causing both the accuracy of the vehicle and himself to drop.
  • Mr. Deathwish ("When you get to hell, tell 'em Paddock said hi!") Triggers when Paddock comes under enemy interception or retaliation fire. Having never been known to use much caution, being put in imminent danger only gets his adrenaline pumping, increasing his evasion and gaining additional movement range.
  • Foresight ("I wouldn't place any bets tonight if I were you.") Paddock has an uncanny knack for predicting who will die. Triggers randomly whenever he is in cover with another team member, 1st Recon or otherwise. His predictions tend to cause a bit of unease, reducing that team member's accuracy.
  • Sarge Knows Best ("You ain't biting it on my watch!") "Foresight" changes to this after his Squad Story. Will trigger whenever he is near another 1st Recon member, excluding Baker. After being promoted to Sergeant, his ability to predict who is in the most grave danger allows him to provide covering fire, providing additional accuracy to interception and retaliation fire for both units.

Overall, all 1st Recon members start with a negative potential called "Death Pistol," which can randomly activate near Baker when Baker provides interception/retaliation fire, which involves drawing his pistol, and goes active in the next turn. The activation quote is the same for all members (Baker saying, "It was my father's. That's why I didn't want it.") and essentially, the affected 1st Recon member becomes distracted by their presence to the the Pistol, and thus suffers a penalty to their damage resistance. After you complete all of 1st Recon's Squad Stories, the potential changes to "Something to Blame" (Baker saying, "It's just a goddamn gun!") and causes the 1st Recon member to no longer be troubled by the gun's superstition, and receive a bonus to damage resistance.

As an individual unit, Baker is unique in that he is a designated leader unit like Claude, and has unique orders that can be unlocked. Such orders include "Covering Fire!" in which Baker can call down a few turns of suppression fire against a group of enemies similar to in Team missions, and "Screaming Eagles" which allows to deploy a 1st Recon member anywhere on the field (provided there are enough slots and CP). He also has a unique prompt that he can use on Imperial Tanks (excluding unique or Ace tanks) that have been damaged, where, if he can get close enough, he gets a prompt to drop a grenade through the tank commander's hatch.

Hoooo boy, this is bigger than I imagined. I apologize for the wall of text. Now for the story, which I hope will be a little smaller.

Story: To start, a lot of the "how 1st Recon got there/where they are from" subject will be only vaguely hinted at, since we don't want to get into the 4th Degree Inter-dimensional Warp Fuckery that entails from transporting (fictional) members of the real world 101st Airborne to a Ragnite-powered fantasy WWII. Overall, 1st Recon says they're specialists recruited by the Federation to fight in Northern Cross, and, while they sound like they're from Vinland (the United States Expy) they never explicitly confirm nor deny it.

The 'timeline' of 1st Recon's arc will be a bit mixed up. It will occur after Hartsock was paralyzed, but before Baker reveals the nature of Leggett's secret to the squad. Hartsock will also be present, but due to his injuries he will be confined to the camp as more of an adviser and tactical planner for 1st Recon, though he still has some fight in it when it counts.

Anyways, the kicker of 1st Recon's plot will be that it more or less is an inversion VC's "lead with friendship" themes. Baker's squad story in particular will deal with the nature of his matter of talking to ghosts, the natures of Allen's, Garnett's, and Legget's deaths, and his guilt at failing to save friends. The Squad Stories will be interconnected into one large arc that runs parallel with the plot, which will end with an altered version of Baker's big speech at the end of Hell's Highway, and a Bittersweet Ending in its own right: Baker earns the trust of most of 1st Recon back and affirms his friendship with Hartsock, but Corrion still has no faith in Baker. I can imagine Claude intervening (or trying to) and there will be a lot of issues stemming from the sheer difference in beliefs and mindsets between Claude's people and Baker's. Some will fit in nicely, others...not so much.

Insofar as "the Secret", Claude himself will be clued into it after he and some other Platoon E members are regaled with some of 1st Recon's stories. Eventually, one of them will start talking about "Allen n' Garnett, remembering how they always argued over comic book characters, how they were inseperable, and generally remembering them fondly. Then someone will mention Leggett...and at that point the conversation seems to become awkward. Claude will realize something is very off about this man named Leggett and the only thing his light prodding can reveal is that he used to be a radioman for 1st Recon. There's mixed expressions on the faces of the men. Some look angry, others sympathetic. One manages to get as far as saying, "He was with Allen n' Garnett when-" before another angrily cuts him off. Baker stands up and leaves without another word, mystery and drama ensues as Claude tries to find a way to get to the bottom of it.

Other story ideas: Hartsock struggling to both acclimate to the new enviornment, and trying to remain useful despite being confined to a wheelchair. He finds a friendship in Claude (both being redheads) and reveals to him his anxieties about leaving his wife and kid behind, and his worries about Baker's constantly deteriorating mental state. Speaking of which...

Baker begins sufferring some serious Sanity Slippage, especially when Operation Northern Cross falls apart and 1st Recon become separated from the rest of E Platoon, and Baker himself takes a turn for the worst and wanders away from the others, prompting a desperate rescue mission. Afterwards, when 1st Recon meets up with Claude and the others on the Snow Cruisers, he finds out Baker has gone completely comatose, requiring 1st Recon to find some way to snap him out of it.

Dawson becomes interested in the more...supernatural aspects of Ragnite, especially tales of Valkyria and magic in general.

Baker, Corrion, and Dawson being mistaken for Darcsen multiple times due to their dark hair and generally aloof attitudes towards everyone else. Comedy, serious moments, and heartwarming moments ensue.

Paddock introduces the motor pool to "Zebra" and "Toucan," light 4 x 4 vehicles that Paddock calls "Jeeps," and something Miles immediately takes an interest in. Along with having to explain just how such animals can be intimidating in the first place, it becomes obvious that their Ragnite drives are jury-rigged to the engines in place of a previous unknown source of fuel. The sytems are...less than perfect, and Paddock's Squad Story revolves around Miles trying to stop him from "putting them out of their misery" due to the constant troubles. The end of the Squad Story has Paddock and Miles resolving their differences and replacing the jury rigged systems with something substantially more reliable.

Hartsock tells Claude about his friend Doyle, leading to a moment where he has to explain just what happenned to him...and how the only thing left is Doyle's 82nd Airborne patch.

Jesus Christ this is probably the biggest entry I've ever made but by god this thing has been stewing a while. Gotta go for now but may add more later.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Vento Aureo, but with an Original Character: Iulia Zeppeli, Caesar's grandniece, who has Hamon, but no Stand. Sort of like Joseph in his youth, or Vin, she doesn't really understand it but used it for delinquency until she caught the eye of Passione. There is mutual fear and distrust between her and the Stand-using teams, since she can't see Stands and they (and Koichi, who would run into her in action while tailing Giorno) are terrified of a supernatural ability that isn't one. Iulia is put with La Squadra, but makes a Defeat Means Friendship Heel–Face Turn and ends up on Team Bucciarati. Would she fall victim to the Zeppeli family curse and die for Giorno?

That's all I've got, and since I've never attempted this kind of fic before I don't know if I'll ever write it. Not only would I be too afraid of creating the dreaded Mary Sue, or being accused thereof, but my only OCs have been in all-OC settings. I've never had one interact with canon characters before, or even really written canon-universe canon characters. Then there's the question whether Hamon would even be any use in a Part with no vampires, zombies, or Pillar Men. Could it change the outcomes of any scenes? Because I don't want to just rewrite canon with an OC tagging along. That's no fun to write or read.

Why all of this? Because you can't tell me that Araki forgot about his parallel Heroic Lineage of Italians in the Part set in Italy.

A crossover between Hellsing and Tokyo ghoul (there's literally only one good one I could find beforehand) where the Captain gets transported to the world of TG after his death. He first interrupts Kaneki's date with Rize before she can attack him, bites Kaneki which turns him into a werewolf, then eats Rize to heal his own wounds from his fight with Seras. He then runs off and leaves Kaneki to deal with turning into a werewolf all by himself, which includes him looking at both humans and ghouls like they're prime cut steaks.

GS Ball Run, a cutthroat Pokemon-back race across a region, perhaps both Kanto and Johto, sponsored by Steven Stone. Would be set in the game continuity and star one of the female player characters. Plot developments would include the race being a ploy to find the locations of Legendary Pokemon, with whoever I choose as the Big Bad planning to use them, and all of this initially being unbeknownst to Steven. Flying Pokemon would be forbidden.
