Characters who are a Little Bit Beastly in Fan Works.

Crossovers
  • My Huntsman Academia: As a Fusion Fic of RWBY and My Hero Academia, the way that Faunus work is changed to accommodate some of the weirder characters from MHA. In RWBY, every Faunus has exactly one animal trait (in addition to Innate Night Vision), and if two Faunus from different animal species have a child, the child will be something completely random. In the fic, not only can animal traits be much more prominent (to the point that frog Faunus Asui is basically just a human-sized frog), crossbreeding can result in "chimeras" with bizarre combinations of traits that aren't even obviously animals any more; this is where Ashido comes from. Kirishima is also mistaken for a shark Faunus because of his sharp teeth, but he's actually completely human.
  • After being turned into Human-Xenomorph hybrids in Queen of the Void, Kirche and Tabitha have chitinous armor on their arms and legs ending in clawed hands and taloned feet, along with xenomorph tails.
  • In The Superheroics of Haruhi Suzumiya, Haruhi's mother wears a bunny girl costume for her role in the show she stars in. She doesn't need to wear fake ears because her Quirk gives her real ones (which are implied to be rather sensitive).
  • Voyages of the Wild Sea Horse:
    • Due to the "compromise" the magics of her Rabbit Zoan Devil Fruit and Jusenkyo Spring of Drowned Cat Curse had to reach, Shampoo has two different "hybrid" forms in which she is part human and part cabbit. In her "demibeast" form, which replaces her human form unless she applies hot water, she looks like herself with cabbit ears and a rabbit's tail. Her "hybrid" form adds more bestial limbs to the mix, with Word of God describing her as having "the legs of Zoamorph Alice from Bloody Roar and the arms of Felicia from Darkstalkers".
    • Miriam, the first native crewmember recruited, is half tiger shark fishman on her father's side and half giant on her mother's side. She looks fundamentally human, save for fins, blue skin, gills, webbed hands and feet, shark-like teeth, and a shark's tail. And the tail is noted to be a rare fishman trait that even fishmen tend to think is weird.
    • Nabiki Tendo looks like this in her Bat People "Beast Form" after consuming the Bat-Bat Fruit Model Type Vampire Mythic Zoan Devil Fruit; she has bat-like ears atop her head, bat wings for arms, and prehensile taloned feet, but otherwise looks perfectly human. In her "Hybrid Form", she looks like herself with Pointy Ears, claws, and Cute Little Fangs... unless she's feeling particularly excited, angry or bloodthirsty, whereupon she gets More Teeth than the Osmond Family.

Dragon Ball

  • Dragon Ball Z: Dynasty:
    • The Saiyans have their usual furry, monkey-like tails. In addition, every hybrid Saiyan in this series is born with one, and Goku, Vegeta, Gohan and Future Trunks all grow theirs back. They can also unlock the ability to use the Golden Great Ape form from Dragon Ball GT, and Raditz can use a variant transformation known as Oozaru Force, channeling the power of a Great Ape into his humanoid form.
    • Chi-Chi's mother, Chika, was a cow demon whose only visible difference from humans was her prominent horns. Chi-Chi was also born with horns, but kept filing them down before Goku convinced her to stop. Their daughter Chika also grows horns.

Harry Potter

  • Serves as a subgenre in Harry Potter fanart, concentrated primarily around the Remus/Sirius pairing, where both are depicted with dog/wolf ears regardless of context.

Hetalia: Axis Powers

  • In Hakkōna and Kaitō Kokoro, Kiku's true form is that of a nekomataneko, a mix between human and nekomata. In other words, Kiku has a human body with cat ears and twin tails.

Marvel Cinematic Universe

  • Most of the mammalian characters in the Petvengers series of fancomics look like chubby little humanoids with animal ears and tails. The birds look like a guy wearing a feathery costume, with human heads and slightly anthropomorphic bird bodies with taloned feet, wings, and Feather Fingers.

Miraculous Ladybug

  • In Cheshire, the close bond between Marinette and Plagg enables her to unlock a new power, Catalyst, that turns her into a full-on Cat Girl with Cute Little Fangs whose reflexes and other abilities are dramatically enhanced.

My Hero Academia

  • Change Up: Quirks can occasionally cause real physical changes in individuals. One of the main cast, for example, just so happens to have arms so freakishly large and muscular that they reach the ground before her legs, making her walk resemble that of a gorilla's. Doesn't keep her from being cute as a button.
  • In Cuckoo Bird, Izuku's true form has black goat ears (one of which has been partially chewed off) and a black lion's tail, along with scales along his arms that change colors to match his moods.

Naruto

  • Several fanworks give the titular character a pair of fox ears, along with a varying number of fox tails.
  • Déjà vu no Jutsu:
    • Thanks to the Leopard Summoning Contract, Natsumi gains the ability to grow long, sharp claws. She's also able to purr. Later on, Shikamaru gets the same benefits before signing the contract, as a not-so-subtle 'nudge' to his mother.
    • Kisame's contract with the Sharks is responsible for his blue skin and gills.
    • Asuma wound up with Monkey fangs despite never actually signing their contract.
    • The Uchiha have both the Hawk and Cat contracts, making them light-footed and sharp-eyed.
    • Thanks to the Toads, Minato and Naruto are both double-joined. Jiraiya can jump insanely high without using chakra, is impervious to cold and wet weather, and is able to spit oil.
    • Gai has tiny tortoiseshell plates hidden under his skin. Not only do these act as armor, they're actually responsible for his sparkling.
  • Ffreire's NaruFox AU reimagines several clans as 'animal clans'; members look just as human as everyone else, but can manifest traits related to their bloodline. Notably, they still have their human ears even when their animal ones pop out, as Naruto regularly demonstrates due to his poor control; this is likely because their animal ears aren't always present.
    • The Uzumaki are an 'animal clan' made up entirely of foxes, with Naruto being distinctive in that he's a nine-tailed fox... much like the one that attacked Konoha years ago, leading to Fantastic Racism against them and the other animal clans.
    • The Inuzuka are a dog clan, and Kakashi is related to them.
    • The Nara are a deer clan, giving Shikamaru Youthful Freckles.
    • The Aburame are related to insects.
    • Haku is revealed to be part rabbit on his mother's end; his father didn't take learning this well.
    • The Sand Trio are half-tanuki on their mother's side. Rasa married Karura in order to take advantage of her bloodline's high standing in Sunagakure; this backfired when the citizens caught wind of his plans to turn Gaara into a Person of Mass Destruction and revolted.

Pokémon

  • Rocket Member is a Meowth/Pikachu fan-comic where Pokémon are in "gijinka" form. They are humanoid and wear clothes, but they have Pokémon traits and can still use their moves.

RWBY

  • White Sheep: When the teams need to infiltrate the White Fang, Blake warns them that things like prosthetic ears and tails will never work; Faunus animal parts are alive and twitch involuntarily. Therefore, most of them choose Faunus traits that can be easily faked or that a Faunus would reasonably hide; Pyrrha goes as a bat Faunus with some fake contacts and claims she needs sunglasses because she doesn't like light, while Nora claims to be a cow Faunus and screams sexual harassment whenever someone wants to see her animal parts.

Worm

  • The Taste of Peaches: Eating the titular peach turns Taylor Hebert into a Hot God with fox ears, nine fox tails, and no hope of having a Secret Identity. When Amy Dallon tries to take stock of Taylor's biology, the resulting power interaction leaves Vicky with her own fox ears and a singular tail.
