A tender romance between a troubled boy and a seemingly carefree girl, building their relationship (and themselves) bit by bit. Many a fan would tell you that the "dangers" of the title refers to this series.

Season 1

     Volume 1

Karte 1

  • Ichikawa giving Yamada his exact-o knife so she can continue her group's project. Despite his "murderous" delusions, when he saw that she had no knife to use helping her was his first instinct.
    • Yamada thanking Ichikawa, which led to him excusing himself to the bookshelf and sighing with a blush on his face. Little dude doesn't even know he has a crush yet.

Karte 2

  • After accidentally taking Ichikawa's box cutter with her, Yamada remembered to put it on his desk. Ichikawa also judges from it's warmth that Yamada kept in her hands on her walk to school so she wouldn't forget.
  • Ichikawa notices Yamada crying to herself during their class' group presentation after Moe replaced the poster Yamada worked on, on the rather blunt grounds that it was subpar. Then when the class looks in her direction for a helicopter outside, he wrecks his group's poster when they're done presenting to divert their attention so they won't see her (Thankfully, she got over it quickly.)

Karte 4

  • When Adachi hands Ichikawa a paper to give to Yamada, Ichikawa assumes that it's something perverted (Surprisingly it wasn't, he was just asking for her LINE). Ichikawa swaps the paper out and instead gives Yamada a picture of a character he drew that just happens to look like her. Notable in that Ichikawa had previously crumpled it, implying the illustration was a rough draft he was going to throw away. Yamada briefly admires it in flattered silence and then keeps chatting with her friends.
    • In the anime, it's shown she keeps the illustration framed in a plastic card holder, dangling off her backpack by a lanyard.

Karte 6

  • Ichikawa hurling his bike down a river as a distraction to stop Nanjou from pressuring Yamada into giving him her LINE.
  • Throughout her unreceptiveness towards Nanjou's shallow flirting, the only time Yamada felt positive about anything he said was when he called her funny. Ichikawa questioned if that was the highest form of praise in her mind. Later, Ichikawa's excuse for throwing his bike down ("I hit the gas instead of the breaks") makes her laugh her head off.
Yamada: (Wiping her tears off) You're funny, Ichikawa.

Karte 9

  • Chii has allergies to the snacks Yamada eats, which is why Yamada goes off to eat by herself. Chii confides to Ichikawa in this in appreciation knowing that Yamada is hiding under the table. Yamada proudly comes out and gives Chii a piggyback ride.

Karte 11

  • While he generally derides Nanjou as a slimy playboy, Ichikawa remembers him helping to fish out Ichikawa’s bike out of a drainage after Ichikawa threw it in there to stop Yamada from giving Nanjou her LINE number.
  • Ichikawa notices Yamada's friends forming Praetorian Guard around Yamada while they're walking Nanjou and his friends, clearly knowing he's a problem. They also appear to deliberately screw up exchanging LINE's with them.

Karte 14

  • Yamada apologizing for accidentally hitting Ichikawa with a basketball during gym, followed by him safely throwing it back to to her.
  • Yamada staring at Ichikawa ... which unfortunately led to her nose injury.
  • Mixed with tearjerker, Ichikawa cries out of empathy for Yamada breaking down into tears over a phone call with her mother about her injury. And this is the moment he realizes he likes her.

Karte 15

  • Chii comforting a tearful Yamada the day after her nose injury.
  • After spotting Yamada still crying about her injury and running out of tissues, Ichikawa lays out a bunch of tissue packs of his own on every library table for her. She just uses them as napkins for her chips, but seeing her in her usual mood is good enough for him.
    • As the chapter/episode ends, Yamada is looking fondly at the pack she's holding. In his attempt to give her a chance to vent, Ichikawa made her stop crying.

     Volume 2

Karte 16

  • Ichikawa giving Yamada a ride on his bike (Because he thought she was serious about asking and not joking). During the ride, Yamada admits to being forced to quit the basketball club thanks to her injury, and openly ponders going to the Data Processing club. Ichikawa already mentioned he was in the Data Processing club...
  • Yamada gives Ichikawa a bottle of papico as thanks for the ride. Something that utterly shocks him since she generally never hands someone food beyond crumbs or leftovers.

Karte 17

  • Ichikawa making himself scarce and moving away from Yamada, even at the cost of a shared selfie she offered to him, so that Kanoaya can apologize to Yamada for hitting her with a basketball in peace.
  • Yamada not only never even bothered to find out who hit her with the ball, but she tried easing Kanoaya's guilt by giving her candy. All this after how upset Yamada was by the incident.

Karte 25

  • Yoshida's sincere fangirling over delinquent manga like Crows and Worst during the study group’s trip to Akita Publishing, considering how reserved she normally is.
  • Ichikawa resists fanboying over a Baki manuscript with the other students. Yamada notices how much he really wants to and takes him over so that he can see the page for himself, asking the others to make room for him. She's not even a Baki fan in the slightest, she just thought he was too shy to join in and wanted to help him out.
Ichikawa: (Turning over to Yamada) It's awesome, right!?
    • Yamada blushes hard seeing how happy Ichikawa was.

Karte 26

  • In a blink and you'll miss, Yamada is seen smiling at Ichikawa during the elevator.
  • When the elevator gets cramped and Yamada is pressed against him, Ichikawa closes his eyes shut so that he wouldn't leer at her. By the time he opens his eyes again, Yamada is gazing into his face moments after everyone else left the elevator.
  • Yamada having a conversation with Ichikawa about manga, and offering to let him borrow the shoujo manga she has.
  • Yamada stays near the bathroom waiting for Ichikawa to come.

Karte 27

  • Ichikawa and Yamada get separated from their group while Ichikawa was on a bathroom break, and they're late to the transit back home. Yamada blames herself for assuming that they knew that the two were staying behind, and starts crying in remorse. Ichikawa then buys her a bottle of Milk Tea from a vendor to lift her spirits. Yamada, likely realizing that Ichikawa overheard her wanting to get Milk Tea before they entered the studio, starts blushing. The anime shows her holding back a smile, along with her breath.
  • Ichikawa attempts to distance himself from Yamada, telling himself that his presence would damage her image as a model. She pulls him back by the bookbag so they don't get separated.

Karte 28

  • Yamada waiting at the school gate for Ichikawa (which he doesn't realize) to make good on her promise to give Ichikawa her shoujo manga.

Karte 30

  • Ichikawa spots the librarian coming from behind the bookcase while Yamada is eating chocolate in light of the school enforcing a ban on snacks in the library. Fearing she’ll get banned this time, he quickly covers Yamada’s chocolate box with a book and clutches her hand holding the chocolate before she can eat it. An initially confused Anna takes a look at the librarian and looks back at Ichikawa. As the chapter's title says, her heart is melted by how much he actually wants her around.
"I can't believe how much I like her."

     Volume 3

Karte 35

  • When Chii tells a story about how Yamada tried to wipe a crepe's cream off her face with the crepe, Ichikawa lets out a small chuckle. Chii's surprised and delighted.
  • As Chii lampshades, Ichikawa usually speaks in squiggly speech bubbles that show how he mutters when speaking. She notices him speaking more normally when he's talking to Yamada (That he's speaking normally, not that Yamada has anything to do with it).
  • Ichikawa accepted Yamada's request to help her study Chemistry. He chuckles again when she reveals she mixed her Chemistry and Math notes into her history book followed by a snarky joke by Chii. He calls it a sneer, but his expression is more heartfelt.

Karte 36

  • Yamada talking to Ichikawa's mother during Parent-Teacher conference, ending with Yamada receiving a cough drop from her.
  • While Ichikawa and his mom are walking out, Ichimama gushes about how pretty the girl near her was and asks her son if she knows her. Ichikawa names Yamada... who was playfully following them, heard him say that, and assumed that she's the first girl he thought of that was pretty since Ichikawa's mom didn't specify exactly who she was talking about (Not knowing that Ichikawa already saw Yamada with his mom).
    • Subtle bit in the manga, Ichikawa's face lightens up a bit when his mom starts talking about Yamada. Yamada herself looks flattered by Ichimama calling her pretty.

Karte 41

  • Yamada is all too happy to be seated close to Ichikawa, and she subtly tucks her hair in to get a look at him during class.
  • Hara lends Ichikawa her notes during class since he can't see the board, and later tells their sensei about it.
  • Ichikawa is navigating some troubles with getting a new seating arrangement, but at the height of the problem is that Yamada, sitting diagonally from him, is so tall he can't see the chalkboard. As Yamada mumbles in a fit of dejected jealousy that Ichikawa must feel lucky to sit next to someone as cute and as nice as Hara, Ichikawa replies that in class, "all (he) can see is (Yamada)." Before he can finish his thought and conclude that he can't see the chalkboard he realizes Yamada is swooning at his first remark. The two of them blush into silence.

Karte 44

  • The two walking out of school talking about food.
  • Yamada sets up a meeting at Shibuya with Ichikawa to trade her manga with him, since she "forgot" to bring them on the day before winter break. Then, after being indirect about it in Karte 31, she straight up for his LINE to set up a time and place, which he hastily obliges.
    • Yamada saying "Kyo" when she sees his profile.

Extras

  • Karte 44.2: The two start their first contact on LINE by spamming increasingly long chains of "A" overnight.
  • A variant cover of Volume 3 has Ichikawa and Yamada having a Held Gaze while walking through the sidewalk.
  • In the profile chapter of the volume, Yamada lists both welsh corgi and cats as her favorite animals. In other extras she frequently compares Ichikawa to a cat, which he actually lists as what animal people think he would be.
    • In both profiles, they're wishy washy regarding a certain other in the "Associated with" section. Yamada lists her friends while only giving an "umm" for who she thinks is "Cool". Ichikawa lists no one, but left a scratch mark at "Cute". They also both left marks at "I have someone I like".

     Volume 4

Karte 45

  • Ichikawa and Yamada were so excited about meeting Shibuya that they both showed up early.

Karte 48

  • Feeling conscious about their time out, Yamada apologizes to Ichikawa for dragging along assuming that he felt exhausted the whole time. Ichikawa realizes how self-conscious he’s been and states that he honestly enjoyed hanging out.
  • The two gazing at the cities' Christmas lights. Ichikawa says it's the first time he's seen them. Which isn't true; he meant that it was the first time he noticed just how beautiful they are while staring at Yamada.
  • The two are separated from each other’s line of sight while riding the train home during rush hour, only maintaining contact through their hands. Ichikawa initially fears that he’s not holding Yamda’s hand (He is), until he remembers the mention of her hand sweat from holding her bag. At which point he grips her hand more firmly.
    • Ichikawa and Yamada have been holding hands through the entirety of their way home, walking slowly and unsure of when to let go.
  • When the two depart, Yamada predicts Ichikawa looking back for her and hides behind a pole. She comes out holding her hair to her face like a mustache and wishes Ichikawa a Merry Christmas in a Santa voice. This got a warm smile out of him.

Karte 50

  • Ichikawa breaks his arm during his family trip to Akita. He takes a selfie and sends it Yamada thinking they could laugh over it. Instead, she video-chats him in a panic to see if he’s alright.

Karte 51

  • Ichikawa buying a dog keychain as a souvenir for Yamada.
  • Kana, who was initially skeptical about her brother hanging with a pretty girl, realizes that that same girl was the one left a note at their house when Kyōtarō was sick. (The handwriting was so messy that she thought it belonged to a guy.) Kana jumps on the ship knowing for sure her brother has a chance, and Kyōtarō's fears come to life when she pesters him about it.

Karte 52

  • Yamada obeying the “shake” command Ichikawa meant for her dog results in them getting stuck holding hands once again.
  • Ichikawa returns Yamada’s muffler from their hangout in Shibuya to her, but she admits that she wanted to give it to him as a gift but wasn’t sure if he’d like it. Since he was also feeling conscious about his gift, Ichikawa finds this to be the right time to give her the dog souvenir in return. She runs around the grass with her dog in joy.
    Yamada: Thank you!
    Ichikawa: ...Same to you.

Karte 53

  • This chapter makes it clear that Moeko is very protective towards her friends, and that includes Ichikawa. When Nanjou "invites" him to a mixer to hound him for Anna's contact info, she gives up her chance at finding a date for the new year, leaving early and asking him to accompany her to give him a way out of the uncomfortable situation.
  • Ichikawa; smiling to himself, upon realizing that he admitted to liking Yamada out loud. This gives him the motivation to call her (a rare moment where he's the one to call). He thinks, "I just wanted to hear your voice, " but settles for wishing her a happy new year. After hanging up he looks up at the apartment complex she's in;
Ichikawa: (One day) I like you.

Karte 55

  • Yamada and Kana bonding over childhood photos (Mostly Kyōtarō’s).
  • From Kyōtarō's observation, Kana secretly recognized the dog keychain around Yamada’s belt; the same one out of the two that she and Kyōtarō bought as souvenirs from Akita. She realized he gave it to her as a gift, got close to her brother on the couch, and stealthily left the one she bought at his side before leaving.
    Yamada: Ah! We match!
  • On her way out, Kana thanks Yamada for getting so close to Kyōtarō, knowing how miserable he's been throughout middle school. In response, Yamada asks if she can call Kana “Onee-chan”. Which she nervously allows.

Karte 56

  • Yamada spots a book about murder mentalities while navigating Ichikawa’s room. In spite of Ichikawa’s fears of her seeing him differently for it, she calls it cool when he tells her about it and uses the subject to subtly flirt with him.

Extras

  • One of the bonus chapters involves an art class assignment with pairs of students sketching portraits of each other. Ichikawa leans over to admire Hara's one of Yamada (To the real thing's anger), but points out the real Yamada has a pair of moles on her neck that she didn't include in the drawing. Hara comments that he really can't take his eyes off Yamada if he's able to remember such small details about her, as a blushing Yamada covers her face. Ichikawa worries he's creeping her out, but it's clear she's more flattered by this than anything, as later on she shows off her neck to him with a big smile on her face when they're alone in the library.
  • One bonus chapter posted on Valentine's Day has Yamada ask Ichikawa what kind of chocolate would be the best gift for someone you're in love with. Ichikawa thinks it over and suggests something heart-shaped, but guesses even that would go over some people's heads. Yamada responds by shoving the heart-shaped chocolate bun she was eating into his mouth. Then when some of the filling gets stuck on his cheek, spreads it into another heart shape, all of which Ichikawa unfortunately fails to pick up on.
    • And a year later, we receive a follow-up with Ichikawa buying a box of chocolates and catching up with Yamada to give them to her. It's a little bittersweet as he leaves while Yamada is still working up the courage to give him the Valentine's Day chocolate she'd made for him, but she's touched by the gesture nonetheless.
  • Karte Extra 56.3: When Yamada thinks of thinking of ways to tell if Ichikawa is a zombie or not (Because she truly can't tell between his acting like one or how he usually is), she thinks of trying to get him to say her name. Ichikawa shoots this down; saying that he wouldn’t forget even if he were undead.

Season 2

     Volume 5

Karte 60

  • Yamada helping out Ichikawa with his broken arm throughout school, even if she's failing at it.
  • Likely ulterior motives aside, Adachi giving Ichikawa his handkerchief to help him dry his washed hands.
  • Yamada is feeling depressed from continuing to screw up with helping Ichikawa. Unable to outright tell her that he joys her company, he shows her a picture of Kana's coming-of-age ceremony to cheer her up. And it works... for a moment.

Karte 61

  • Hara ropes Kanzaki into helping find Yamada's lost Akita Kentaro keychain (Though she doesn't tell him who it actually belongs to.)
  • After coming across the two, Ichikawa sets out to find the keychain himself in the snow, wrapping the scarf Yamada gave him during winter break.
  • Moeko comes across him and leads him along the path to Yamada's home so that has a better chance of finding it; either letting him follow her on her way there (Manga) or pointing him in the right direction and messaging Yamada (Anime), then going about her way.
  • Ichikawa assuring a distraught Yamada that Kentaro won't disappear; it is around for them to find. The anime adds him moving to comfort her when she starts crying.
  • The two find the keychain, left there by someone else (In Japan, it's common for lost objects to be put in obvious places). Yamada tearfully thanks him, but Ichikawa states that he only found it thanks to her.
If I hadn't run into you, Yamada, I wouldn't have looked up
    • In the anime, Yamada grips Ichikawa's hand while he's holding Kentaro.

Karte 65

  • Ichikawa is undergoing puberty, specifically regarding his arms growing and his voice changing. And Yamada is absolutely excited to see it even if he isn't, letting him know what's happening with his arms. And he realizes how much Yamada is paying attention to things about himself that he doesn't notice.

Karte 66

  • Ichikawa, who normally doesn't initiate touch with Yamada, notices she's feeling down in Judo class thanks to her smelly loaned gi and engages her by playfully kicking at her feet.

     Volume 6

Karte 71

  • Ichikawa is initially intimidated by Anna’s behemoth of a father, Yuki… until the man asks him to play video games with him. Ichikawa complies, and the other Yamada women join in to watch.
  • When Yuki dejectedly says no one else in his family plays games, Anna adorably plays with the same controller as Ichikawa.
  • Anna giving her chocolate to Kyotaro. She guises it as a taste test, but first presented it like a girl giving her crush a gift (Which is exactly that) before saying she was kidding.

Karte 72

  • The Valentine's Day bonus comics would eventually be adapted into the main manga as Kartes 72 and 73.
  • Yamada decides to hop on Ichikawa's bike after school after he says handing chocolate over doesn't have to be at school only.

Karte 73

  • After the Valentine's Day extra, Yamada pays a visit to Ichikawa's house in the evening rather than giving up after missing her chance.

Karte 80

  • Yamada admitting to Ichikawa that amongst everything she's tried and failed over her years, she even felt the same way about her job thinking that there were better models than her and just general inadequacy on her own. At some point, she wondered "why" she kept doing it until back in Karte 66 where Ichikawa took note of how much she was talking about her job and pointed out that she loves it. She admits that that made happy, and it's part of why she invited him to the set.
  • Ichikawa ran off from the set almost as soon as he arrived, overcome by his inferiority complex. This leads to Yamada following after him, telling the staff that she was going to the bathroom. Ichikawa thinks about whether this would get Yamada in trouble and possibly fired, imagining her sitting beside him as just a regular middle schooler from then on... then he takes her hand and runs them both back to the set.
Ichikawa: If... Yamada went back to being an ordinary middle school student, then... I wouldn't like her as much as I do now.

Karte 81

  • If Suwa knowing who Ichikawa is any indication, Yamada talks about him a lot at work too.
  • As they leave home, Ichikawa shows Yamada a picture he secretly took at the set; which is just her talking to her coworkers offset with a piece of food on her mouth. Yamadas initially embarrassed until Ichikawa says it looks pretty outloud'' while looking at the picture with a smile on his face. Yamada wanted him to pay attention to her specifically while she was working, but she's still beautiful to him regardless.
    • The anime version has Yamada delighted when she hears him say this, so much that her eyes light up.

     Volume 7

Karte 96

  • While shooting a scene for the movie she’s in, Yamada suddenly sheds tears of anxiety. While on call with Ichikawa, she eventually sums it up to "tapping into his heart”, unknowingly channeling his anxiety and frustration as inspiration after their talk about his parents during her sleepover at his house. Ichikawa blurts out "thank you!", upon hearing his issues used for something good.

Karte 97

  • Yamada video-calling Ichikawa so he can look at the sea near the Shimanami Kaido, thinking of the spot to be a good place for a date.
    • Sanae saw Anna staring at her phone, knew exactly what her daughter was thinking and took off so Anna could call Ichikawa in peace.

Karte 98

  • Ichikawa enjoying a bowl of soup offered by Anna’s dad, calling it delicious. Yuki even blushes when Ichikawa compliments it.
  • After dropping her phone into the ocean while on a call with Kyōtarō, Anna drew a route to a certain somewhere and sent it to her father, with the intent for him to go over and get in touch with someone. Anna’s dad can't make heads or tails of the picture since the info is so vague and shows it to Kyōtarō for input.
Kyōtarō: (Almost seemingly about to shed tears) It’s my place!
  • Kyōtarō and Anna calling each other on the phone, leading to a mutual Say My Name moment (Though Kyōtarō’s is only in his head.)
  • Ichikawa confesses to Anna's dad that he likes her, to address Yuki knowing that Ichikawa was in their home without them knowing and to enforce that he means his daughter no ill intentions. Ichikawa’s confession coincides with Anna facing her mother in tears, apparently also confessing. Anna’s mom just knowingly smiles.
    • Noticeably, both Kyōtarō and Anna’s mouths form the spelling for “suki”, the Japanese word for like. The word balloon also intersects between, implying that Anna is confessing at the same time. The anime confirms it with the two confessing in unison.
  • As Ichikawa apologizes for their unfortunate misunderstanding from the first time he went to their home, Yuki just hands him his friend code so they can play Monster Hunter together.

     Volume 8

Karte 101

  • Yamada’s absolute joy upon learning that Ichikawa grew 6 cm (Also hilarious.)
  • The two writing their names down in the library bookshelf to mark their heights. Yamada also notes Ichikawa’s voice getting deeper.
    • When it’s his turn, Ichikawa catches that Yamada wrote “Kyo” down. In return, he writes “Anna”. Yamada eagerly checks what he wrote and gets so flustered that she twirls herself into the window’s curtains.
    • Ichikawa confessing to Yamada how he feared growing up, but now wants to be closer to her. Physically (in height, he meant). She opens to the curtains so that he can come closer and adorably headbutts him when he clarifies what he meant.
    • Ichikawa almost confesses to Yamada then and there, to keep from letting anything else come before his love for her in light of their new class.

Karte 105

  • Ichikawa is initially reluctant about openly cheering for Yamada while she's doing the obstacle race. He changes his mind when Yamada trips into a net in a rather suggestive pose and he catches Adachi leering at her. Ichikawa rushes with Hanzawa's fans and starts cheering (blocking Adachi's sight), which brings a smile to Yamada's face.
    • Yamada happily stating that she ended up in last place. Doubly-heartwarming considering that she hasn't dealt with failure well throughout her life; she clearly cares more about Ichikawa cheering for her.

Karte 110

  • Ichikawa finally confessing to Yamada along the Torii Gates.
    • He learned that Yamada resolved to stay on the field trip with him believing that he would have an easier time with her around, being conscious over his admitted depression from his first grade, rather than prepare for an audition to a live adaptation of Kimi Iro Octave that she wanted. When she brings it to her while walking through the Torii gates alone, Yamada breaks down crying in admission of wanting to stay with him while also feeling guilty about wanting the audition too... and then Kyōtarō puts on the fox mask she was wearing.
    • He notes his progress throughout the time the series up until now; he made friends, speaks to girls more easily, and appreciates his teachers despite feeling annoyed by them. He declares that he finding school to be fun now, even without Yamada around; And that’s ‘’because'' of Yamada showing him how beautiful the world really is. Then he takes the mask off with tears running down his face.
      Kyōtarō: I like you, Yamada.

Karte 113

  • Ichikawa packing Yamada a bunch of snacks on her way to her audition, fully expecting her to run out of whatever she already has. Eagle-eyed readers also note that many of the snacks he picked out were ones Yamada had in previous chapters. When he's about to wish her "good luck", he instead says "It'll be okay!"
    • Due to the change of events in the anime, Ichikawa packing her snacks is made much more immediate by the time they escaped Kanna’s last flash mob attempt. Despite wondering how he was going to bring up her audition, here he fully intended on her going and prepared just in case.
  • Yamada’s choice of place for responding to Ichikawa’s confession? The library. Ichikawa even finds her eating something in the exact same pose from their first meeting there.
    • Ichikawa started rushing over the very moment he got her message.
  • Yamada didn’t specify where in her text to meet and only put a candy icon for him to figure it out. Adapting from an extra chapter centered on this, Ichikawa notes how they already have a lot of usual spots, causing her to blush. The anime even has him running through different locations the two hanged out at throughout the series up to this point.
  • As she anguishes over the results of her audition, Anna lists each of her flaws; her anxiousness, her envy towards others, etc. and stating that she can’t do anything about it …and that she likes herself for all of it anyway with a proud, cheeky smile. It's because the people who are dear to her, Ichikawa most of all, that she's able to love herself.
    • In follow-up, she says she has Ichikawa to thank for that realization, stating his full name as he did with her in his confession and claiming him to be the most precious thing in her life. She makes a personal, improvised rehearsal of her audition practice for a confession scene from Kimi Iro Octave. Only instead of "I like you", Yamada says;
'Yamada: (Tears of Joy) I love you!
    • Yamada then takes his hand and asks him out. Ichikawa says yes in tears... and in the anime, he just nods since he's too choked up to properly say anything.
  • Mixed with funny, Yamada makes an attempt at The Big Damn Kiss with Ichikawa, only for them to fumble so much that they just settle for a Headbutt of Love instead and laugh at themselves (Ichikawa just chuckles though… ) Then Yamada kisses him on the cheek and runs out of the library shouting “We did it!” without a care in the world.
A brand world has just begun for us

     Volume 9

Karte 115

  • Ichikawa telling Yamada’s parents that they’re now dating, and asking Yuki for the recipe to Anna’s favorite dish so that he can cook it for her himself.

Karte 118

  • Kyōtarō’s inner monologue descending into gibberish upon seeing Yamada with blonde hair for her new drama role. Ending with him mentally shouting “CUUUUTE!!”
  • Mixed with awesome and funny, Kyōtarō taking Yamada by the hand when some dude's trying to pick her up before heading to the concert.
  • Yamada mistakingly assumes from Ichikawa’s demeanor (the shock from seeing as a blonde) that he didn’t like her new hair color, and left him with Kinoshita to buy a hat to cover it up (which is actually kind of adorable, even if it's sad). By the time they arrive at the concert, Ichikawa figures it out why she bought the hat through enough questioning and tips her hat off, wordlessly showing acceptance of her hair.
    • The moment he does, Ichikawa tells Yamada that he wished she stayed around while he was catching up on lost times with Kinoshita... so that he could show off his girlfriend to him.
  • Kinoshita holds no hard feelings at all over Kyōtarō not contacting him since they graduated. Followed by Ichikawa telling him that his blonde friend was in fact his girlfriend.

Karte 119

  • Yamada no longer wearing the hat she bought last chapter, showing she's now assured by Kyōtarō having no issues with her hair.

Karte 120

  • Kyōtarō apologizes to Yamada for roping her in to a bar with Kana. Yamada just knocks his cup and says she's happy with him no matter where they are.
  • Yamada telling Kana that she hopes to grow up like her one day; someone who cares for every person around them. Then confessing to her that she’s officially dating Kyōtarō.
    • Yamada admitting that she feared she was spoiling herself at the party, and professes that she wants to make Kyōtarō happy. Kana wipes Anna’s tears off her face and tells her that she’s already grown up plenty for confessing to all of that.
    • It is then that Kana proceeds go off and loudly cheer about the two finally getting together, comically crying Tears of Joy.

Other

  • Over the course of Christmas Eve in 2020, Sakurai Norio would upload a series of drawings on Twitter showing Yamada and Ichikawa on their Christmas Eve date from chapters 45 to 48, all posted at the times the events shown would have happened in the manga, building on what was already a very cute arc.
