Total Drama Pahkitew Island Reordered is a Total Drama fanfic by Danicus Green that rewrites the controversial Pahkitew Island season.

Some time after the destruction of Wawanakwa Island at the end of Total Drama All Stars, Chris McLean has invited fourteen new contestants to compete on a brand new island in the ferocious, most savage season of Total Drama yet! Who will come out on top for the win? And who will be shot out of the game? Find out in this improved version of Total Drama Pahkitew Island!

Tropes present in this fanfic include:

  • Accidental Misnaming: Jasmine gets outraged any time someone calls Sammy "Samey", even causing Heather to cower in the finale when she mockingly does it.
  • Adaptational Explanation: The reason this season's cast was so eccentric and zany compared to the previous seasons is due to Chef accidentally knocking their audition tapes into the acceptance machine.
Heather: Wow, Chris! Is this really the best you could come up with? I've seen losers before, but these guys take the cake! I mean, talk about bottom of the barrel! Did you find them off the side of the road or something?
Chris: Technically, they were accepted into the season when Chef accidentally knocked their audition tapes into the acceptance machine.
Heather and Dave: Well, that explains a lot.
  • Adaptational Karma: Whereas in canon, Chris received no comeuppance for his usual Jerkass behavior throughout the season, here upon suggestion from the runner-up, the rest of the cast, along with the past season winners and Chef, have him shot out of the Cannon of Shame (after getting relieved of his pants by Duncan).
  • Adaptation Name Change: Several of the episode titles are changed to reflect the new canon:
    • "A Blast from the Past" is re-titled "Splash, Splash, X Dash".
    • "Sky Fall" is re-titled "Break Back Mountain".
    • "Pahk'd With Talent" is re-titled "Pahk'd With Knowledge".
    • "Lies, Cries, and One Big Prize" is re-titled "Revenge of the Losers".
  • Adaptational Nice Guy:
    • Dave slowly becomes more accepting of his teammates' quirks and nicer to them as a result than he was in canon. The biggest example to contrast this Dave with the canon one can be seen during Beardo's elimination in "Mo' Monkey, Mo' Problems". Dave ends up giving the same lines he did when Beardo was eliminated in the canon premiere, but whereas there he said them in sarcasm, here he's genuinely honest in his regret.
    • Downplayed with Scarlett. While she's still the main villain of the season, she never tries to kill anybody in this version, and even helps Dave when he chooses her as a helper in the finale.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: The Sky-Dave-Ella Love Triangle plays out much differently here than in canon. When Dave first tells Sky that he likes her, she informs him that she's not really looking for a relationship at the moment due to having recently broken up with Keith as a result of him cheating on her (which also qualifies for this trope). When Sky starts showing signs of jealousy due to Ella showing interest in Dave, he begins dating Ella in an attempt to make Sky jealous only to let her down gently once he realizes that Ella is genuinely in love with him. Heartbroken, Ella informs Sky that Dave's heart belongs to her and the two have a Relationship Upgrade, but after Sky gets transferred to Team Kinosewak, she ends up dumping Dave due to Scarlett tricking her into thinking that Dave's cheating on her with Ella. Once Sky realizes the truth, she realizes that she was right when she told Dave she wasn't ready for a relationship yet and advises him to go after Ella, which he does.
  • Ascended Extra:
    • Sammy was one of the earlier eliminations of the canon season. In this version, she's the main protagonist alongside Dave. We get to see her go through several character arcs, like her friendship with Jasmine, her alliance with Dave to take Scarlett down, and she even becomes one of the finalists of the season, winning in the canonical ending of this story.
    • The same also applies to Beardo of all characters. In canon, he was the first contestant to be eliminated from the season. Here, however, he plays a more active role, helping a lot more with challenges, becoming friends with his teammates, especially Dave, and manages to outlast characters that made it to the merge in the canon like Sugar and Max.
  • Bait-and-Switch: When announcing the team swap at the end of "This is the Pits!", Chris says he's doing it because several players are forming alliances to vote out teammates, implying he's breaking up the Shawn-Ella and Scarlett-Topher alliances, only for the players to actually be swapped to be Sky and Sammy.
Chris: Hey, I didn't say these alliances were official! But, come on! Boyfriend-girlfriend? BFFs?
  • Big Bad: Scarlett is the main antagonist of this story like she was in canon. Unlike canon, however, she doesn't share the role with anyone since Sugar and Max get eliminated pretty early. She utilizes Chris's iPad to take control of the island and the challenges, and she's responsible for sabotaging many relationships this season such as breaking up Dave and Sky, jeopardizing Sammy and Jasmine's friendship by making Sammy eliminate Shawn, and giving Ella a manchineel fruit that damages her throat and gets her out of the competition. Needless to say, Sammy and Dave don't like her very much and even team up during the semifinals to finally take her down.
  • Brick Joke: Amy getting caught trying to sneak back onto the island for the second time in "Hurl and Go Seek" contains two brick jokes to the previous two episodes:
    • Among the obstacles Team Maskwak ends up encountering during the challenge in "This is the Pits!" are nude bombs that end up blowing off all of their clothes. When Amy is caught, Chris mentions her being naked when they found her, indicating that she ended up encountering one of the nude bombs herself.
    • In "Three Zones and a Baby", Sammy mentions disliking babies as a result of Amy once tricking her into dressing up as a baby as a Halloween prank. To cover up Amy's aforementioned nudity, Chris and Chef have her placed in a leftover bib and diaper from the previous episode's challenge, allowing Sammy to claim revenge for said prank.
  • Call-Back:
    • When Dave is concerned about him and Sky now being separated on different teams in "Three Zones and a Baby", Ella brings up how Trent's similar concerns about him and Gwen being on different teams during Action ended up having him cause the very thing he was worried about happening in the first place.
    • After losing the challenge in "Pahk'd With Knowledge", Scarlett tries to act like they don't need an elimination ceremony since Ella was already medically evacuated at the beginning of the episode. Dave and Sammy know better however, remembering how DJ tried to use that excuse after Izzy was evacuated in World Tour.
  • The Cameo: The past winners of the previous five seasons are all brought in by Chris to watch the finale with the already eliminated contestants.
  • Cliffhanger Copout: "Scarlett Fever" ends with an under-pressure Sammy using her sole elimination vote given to her by Scarlett to vote off Shawn, seemingly straining her friendship with Jasmine. The following episode opens up with the two of them reconciling and realizing how Scarlett's been manipulating everyone all season.
  • Cutting Off the Branches: The last two episodes establish Gwen, Duncan, Heather, Cameron, and Zoey as the canon winners of the past seasons.
  • Demoted to Extra:
    • In canon Sugar went far into the season as an antagonist and was voted off at third place; in this story, she's the second cast member voted off.
    • Max goes from making the merger in canon to becoming the fifth person voted off.
    • Canon finalists Sky and Shawn are eliminated early on in the merge here.
  • Disqualification-Induced Victory: Rather than Chris disqualifying both teams in "This is the Pits!" for not going through the intended pathway in the challenge, he has Team Kinosewak win by default due to them actually coming out through the challenge's intended exit.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Leonard, who has a habit of getting on everyone's nerves by getting too into character. In the final challenge where he, Amy, Max, and Sugar are chosen to be deterrents, he's the only one who doesn't actually want to injure or kill Dave and Sammy and is the only one who shows concern for them during the avalanche.
  • Evil Is Petty: Scarlett's reason for hating Total Drama is apparently because she once appeared on Teen Jeopardy! only to lose in the final round due to the Final Jeopardy question being Total Drama-themed.
  • Exact Words: For her part of the challenge in "Pahk'd With Knowledge", Scarlett has her, Sammy, and Dave participate in a trivia contest where the subject is chosen by Chris. Chris, being who he is, decides to make the subject Total Drama trivia, thus forcing Scarlett to re-live her Jeopardy! failure.
  • Friendly Rivalry: Sammy and Dave. The two of them didn't get along at first, given Sammy's peer-pressured decision to eliminate Shawn. And because of this they would often bicker with each other. However, after teaming up to defeat Scarlett, the two of them get on better terms, even sharing part of their winnings in each's respective endings.
  • Fix Fic: This story serves as this to Total Drama Pahkitew Island.
  • Humiliation Conga: Scarlett's comeuppance in "Pahk'd With Knowledge" is a sight to behold. First, she loses the trivia contest challenge she picked out thanks to Exact Words allowing Chris to pick a subject she despises for the trivia category. Then, per her own stipulations has a dunce cap glued onto her head by Chef, gets pelted with the elimination ceremony marshmallows by Dave and Sammy while in the Cannon of Shame, and to add insult to injury, ends up getting launched alongside Amy.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Despite all the previous changes, Rodney's and Topher's eliminations still play out in the same way and episodes as in canon.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: When Amy thinks she almost killed Dave and her sister, she's horrified at what she's done... only because if the latter died, she wouldn't be able to rub her victory in her face. In Sammy's ending, when she tries to reconcile with her, she tries to justify all her past actions towards her with numerous excuses such as Tough Love. Sammy then tells her that she'll only accept her apology and share some of her prize money with her if she records a video of her apologizing and posts it to YouTube, to which Amy furiously refuses.
  • Mistaken for Cheating: After Sky is transferred over to Team Kinosewak, Scarlett tricks her into thinking that Dave is a womanizer who's only interested in flirting with every girl on the island. Sky catching Ella kissing Dave on impulse after he saves her during the challenge in "Three Zones and a Baby" doesn't help matters.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Ella has this reaction once she realizes that Sky's Mistaken for Cheating moment with Dave was likely caused by her aforementioned kissing of Dave during the previous challenge.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • During "Mo' Monkey, Mo' Problems" and "This is the Pits!", Sammy and Scarlett respectively mention having nightmares about how the previous episodes' eliminations played out in canon.
    • When Shawn and Sky end up in the bottom two in "Hurl and Go Seek", Chris comments that he had been expecting the finale to be between the two of them.
    • When Gwen and the other past winners show up in the finale, she and Ella show signs of knowing each other, likely a reference to the two of them being cousins in Total DramaRama.
  • Non-Gameplay Elimination: Ella is forced to be medically evacuated from the competition after Scarlett tricks her into eating a manchineel fruit.
  • Not His Sled: In the finale, rather than displaying footage showing Sammy and Dave in a negative light to get their helpers to become hinderers like he did with Shawn and Sky in canon, Chris instead brings in all the competitors they rejected as helpers at the start of the challenge (Sugar, Max, Leonard, and Amy) to work as hinderers instead.
  • Persona Non Grata: When Team Kinosewak returns from the reward dinner at Darwin's All You Can Eat Food Safari that they earned for winning the challenge in "This is the Pits!", they inform Team Maskwak that among the people banned from the restaurant are Sugar and Owen.
  • Resolved Noodle Incident: In canon, Ella mentions putting on a one-person performance of the World Tour musical numbers that got her banned from the mall, but doesn't go into any further details. When asked about it by Sammy here, Ella says that the ban occurred as a result of her pantsing a security guard during the "I See London" number.
  • Running Gag: Amy getting launched from the Cannon of Shame every three episodes. This even gets lampshaded in the second-to-last episode where Chris has her brought to the island specifically to be launched alongside Scarlett simply for the sake of continuing the gag.
  • The Scapegoat: Even after getting Max eliminated, Scarlett still manages to make him a convenient fall guy whenever things go wrong for her team during the challenges:
    • In "Mo' Monkey, Mo' Problems", when Team Kinosewak ends up getting caught in a net snare Scarlett had previously set up for Team Maskwak, Max ends up getting the blame for it due to Scarlett also having used Max's Helmet of Evil to interfere with Team Maskwak during the challenge.
    • "Scarlett Fever" has her using a robot duplicate of Max she finds in a storage room to act as her front man for her attempt to steal the prize money in the episode which results in Max getting the blame and Scarlett avoiding her canon elimination.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Something We Forgot: In both endings, one of the more disliked competitors ends up getting left behind on the island. In Sammy's ending, it's Amy, while Dave's ending has it happen to Sugar.
  • Sympathy for the Devil:
    • Sammy mentions at one point that despite everything Alejandro did during World Tour, she rooted for him during the finale because 1. Heather's Alpha Bitch attitude over the previous two seasons reminded her too much of Amy for her to ever be able to root for her and 2. after finding out about José, she emphasized with Alejandro for knowing what it's like to have to live with a horrible older sibling.
    • Cameron, of all people, manages to sympathize with Scarlett during the finale despite all she'd done throughout the season up to that point.
  • Take That!: Dave mentions knowing a bully named Ricky, a reference to real-life Youtuber and notorious Dave-hater TotalDramaRicky.
  • "Take That!" Kiss: During "Smash, Splash, X Dash", when Shawn and Sammy are competing for their teams and are clashing, Sammy initially has the upper-hand, until Shawn quickly kisses her on the lips, shocking her (and everyone else) and distracting her long enough for him to smack her into the water and extent the lead for his team. This was also a way for Shawn to try to convince Jasmine he wasn't interested in her romantically, which he later comes to regret.
  • Token Good Teammate: Leonard is this for the team chosen to be deterrents in the final challenge, being the only one who isn't hellbent on seriously injuring or killing Dave and Sammy.
  • Worthy Opponent: Despite being angry at her loss, Scarlett admits that she does respect Sammy and Dave for defeating her during the second-to-last challenge. She even helps Dave during the snow sleighing section of the challenge during the finale after being chosen as a helper.
  • Your Approval Fills Me with Shame: Dave mentions in the confessional near the end of "Pahk'd With Knowledge" that the knowledge that he has Amy's support in the finale makes him feel filthy.
