Total Drama Omega is a Total Drama fanfiction written by MarkLevins, author of Total Drama Legends.

Taking place in an Alternate Continuity in which Chris McLean ended up having to serve a longer prison sentence for toxic waste dumping following the Revenge of the Island finale, two years after his arrest, the producers have greenlit a new season of Total Drama, replacing Chris as host with a young up-and-comer named Don Riddick, who takes ten of the new campers introduced the previous season (Jo, Lightning, B, Dawn, Scott, Zoey, Sam, Dakota, Brick, and Anne Maria) and pits them against ten of the contestants who would have been introduced in Pahkitew Island (Sky, Jasmine, Max, Dave, Beardo, Rodney, Scarlett, Ella, Sugar, and Topher) all for the sake of winning one million dollars. With a new host, new campers, and even a new island, this new season of Total Drama promises to be unlike any ever seen before.

This fanfiction contains examples of:

  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • The Pahkitew Island cast (with the exceptions of Shawn, Leonard, Amy, and Sammy) now make their debuts in Season 5 rather than Season 6.
    • Don now makes his debut here rather than The Ridonculous Race.
  • Adaptational Jerkass:
    • Invoked by Dave, who's noticeably a lot nastier here than even at his worst in Pahkitew Island in hopes of getting voted out early and getting away from the teammates he dislikes so much.
    • While Sky could get hyper-competitive at times in Pahkitew Island, she was mostly defined by her desire for fair play and dislike of cheating. Here, more focus is placed on her competitive side, resulting in her becoming a bossy player of near-Courtney levels.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul:
    • Beardo and Jasmine never interacted with each other in canon due to being on different teams and the former being the first contestant eliminated. Here being on the same team allows the two to form a strong friendship with each other to the point that Jasmine's the first person Beardo talks to without using his sound effects.
    • In canon, Dave and Sky took a liking to each other very quickly, only to end on bitter terms with each other once Dave found out that Sky already had a boyfriend. Here, Dave deliberately gets on Sky's bad side in an attempt to get voted off early, resulting in them starting off on the wrong foot, only to slowly start to warm up to each other due to Sky seeing potential in Dave as a competitor.
  • Bait-and-Switch: After Anne Maria's impressive Batman Gambit mentioned below to get her team the victory and eliminate Rodney in the first challenge, you'd think she's going to be a major competitor this season. Instead, she becomes the next contestant eliminated.
  • Batman Gambit: Taking advantage of Rodney's falling for every beautiful girl he sees, Anne Maria orders him to not move until she's crossed the first challenge's finish line, giving Team Rookie the victory and causing Rodney to be the first competitor eliminated.
  • Brick Joke: In Rookies vs Newbies Part I, Dawn tries to tell Anne Maria that something bad will happen to her if she doesn't leave soon, only to be interrupted by the Jersey girl. When Anne Maria is eliminated in Fresh Prints and Bad Hair, Zoey asks Dawn what she meant by that, to which Dawn replies that Anne Maria would have made a bigger fool of herself than the previous season right as Anne Maria faceplants while taking the Paraglide of Shame, resulting in her belt buckle getting stuck in the dock and causing her pants to fall down.
  • Call-Back:
    • When Dakota notices the interns all knocked out after a blinded Lightning barreled through them during the first challenge, the heiress mentions in the confessional that she hopes Don treats them right, referencing her time as an intern during the previous season.
    • When Dave asks Don if he can just quit following the first elimination, Don explains that after Duncan and Anne Maria did that the previous two seasons, the producers aren't allowing anyone else to walk off the show.
    • Chapter 4, Dodgebrawl II: This Again!, has a few references to the original Season 1 episode:
      • Topher tries to get Zoey to throw a dodgeball at his face so he can dodge it the way Harold did in the original episode, only for another dodgeball from Lightning to hit him in the kiwis.
      • As yet another attempt to be voted out early, Dave attempts to sit out the entire challenge, but is caught and forced to participate by Don, who refuses to allow "another Noah situation."
    • Like in Episode 4 of Revenge, Chapter 4 here ends with a team swap involving Brick. He and Jo are sent over to Team Newbie while Sugar and Topher become part of Team Rookie.
    • Topher pretends to let himself get manipulated by Scott, thinking that it can result in a recreation of the Heather-Lindsay dynamic, the latter of whom was one of the most popular first generation contestants In-Universe.
  • Didn't See That Coming: Topher is honestly surprised to discover that Chris isn't hosting this season and comments in the confessional how that affects his plans of taking over the show.
  • Double Take: After Team Newbie's first elimination ceremony, Dave begins mockingly saying goodbye to his teammates before giving a Big "WHAT?!" upon realizing he's not eliminated.
  • Establishing Character Moment: Sky makes her debut here by impressively leaping out from the lake and landing on the dock in front of the Revenge cast before chastising herself for not sticking the landing, showing that this Sky is a lot more focused on winning and perfection than the canon Sky.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Both Don and Mildred agree that Chris deserved his prison sentence for the psycho behavior he showed to the contestants during the previous four seasons.
  • Hated by All: As a result of his team sabotage tactics the previous season, Scott is utterly despised by the rest of Team Rookie, with only Sam willing to give him the time of day.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: Blaineley has been reduced to being Don's chief intern, even being forced to go by her actual name, Mildred.
  • Lights Out Somebody Dies: Upon the contestants arriving at the dinner party in the third chapter, Don begins making a speech, only for a blackout to occur, during which, upon the power going back on, Mildred and one of the other interns have vanished with only a smear of ketchup symbolizing blood in their place. It's at this point Don reveals that the "dinner party" was actually meant to be a murder mystery dinner serving as this episode's challenge.
  • Literal Metaphor: Not believing Zoey when she says she has no hard feelings towards him for voting her out of the Final Three in the previous season, Lightning says in the confessional that he's going to have eyes in the back of his head when dealing with her, by which he means he's literally drawn a smiley face on the back of his head.
  • Mythology Gag:
    • Just like the second episode of All Stars, which this fanfic replaces, had laundry landmines as obstacles during its challenge, the second chapter here features laundry landmines as an obstacle during the challenge featured there.
    • The challenge featured in Chapter 5 is the same challenge used in "A Blast From the Past", the fifth episode of Pahkitew Island.
  • Oh, Crap!:
    • Scott upon realizing the immunity idol is not returning this season, leaving him at the mercy of teammates who hate his guts.
    • Dawn has this reaction upon seeing Ella for the first time.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Dawn is normally The Stoic when it comes to dealing with others, so it says something when she's noticeably unnerved and put off by fellow nature lover Ella.
  • Pet the Dog: With the exception of Mildred, Don is generally nicer to the interns than Chris was, giving them high-fives for good work, having them actively play a role in the challenges, and even getting to fill in for him during elimination ceremonies when he's unavailable.
  • Put on a Bus:
    • Mike, Cameron, and Staci are the only members of the Revenge cast not returning this season, though, as mentioned below, the former at least has a Written-In Absence.
    • Chef, as well, doesn't appear here, since, as Don puts it, "[he and Chris] are a package deal."
  • Ship Tease: Brick is noticeably attracted to Jasmine upon seeing her for the first time. Jo, naturally, can't resist teasing her rival upon noticing this.
Jo: So, that's your type, eh Drooly? Tall, dark, and on safari?
  • Shout-Out: In a reference to the author's previous work, the competition is being held on Kihci Island, the same location the island-based challenges took place on in Total Drama Legends.
  • The Silent Bob: B and Beardo, as per canon. While the former has been working on sign language in order to better communicate with his fellow competitors, Beardo is shown in confessionals to be capable of talking, just preferring to use his sound effects to communicate with the others due to his crippling shyness.
  • Springtime for Hitler: Dave frequently tries to mess up in challenges in an attempt to get voted off as soon as possible. However, due to either bad luck, or Dave's own instincts to avoid danger, he tends to end up helping his team, much to his chagrin.
  • Tiny Guy, Huge Girl: Sam and Dakota, the latter of whom's new giant size is the last remaining trace of her mutation from the previous season.
  • Written-In Absence: When Scott begins teasing Zoey upon noticing that her boyfriend's not competing this season, Zoey explains that Mike's currently in therapy to help him deal with being in control of his personalities for the first time.
