In-Game Biography ^{Click to Show}Born in Belém, Pará, Amazonas is a very new figure to the socialist political situation that Brazil finds itself in, but the timing was perfect; he became involved with the Communist Party of Brazil, one of the first and last remaining communist parties in the world after the failure of the Russian Revolution, he found himself in an increasingly libertarian surrounding, and then, with the Pajama Revolution, he quickly got to work helping the P Cdo B rise up against the Government in the Pará-Northeast area, and helped urban areas in the Northeast rise up against the oligarchs which held them for decades in near-slavery, or basically slavery, and he went to work in ensuring that the Vanguardist voice wouldn't be silenced by the vile Syndicalists which plagued the Conselho de Salvação Nacional. As a Marxist and Leninist, he believes deeply in the creation of a Bolshevik State like the one in Russia and sees it as the most correct expression of socialism, and believes that it is only through radical totalitarianism and militancy that Brazil can come towards the twentieth century kicking and screaming, and wipe away the oligarchs which have long oppressed its society for over a century since the country's independence.

In-Game Biography ^{Click to Show}João Ponce Arruda was nothing more than a simple mayor for most of his political life, yet with the descent of Brazil into anarchy, he would find himself called to a much more exciting fate.

Graduating with a degree in civil engineering from Rio de Janeiro, Arruda would be brought by future of Brazil's projects to Cuiabá, a city at the edge of Brazil's dominion. Elected in 1932 to the Mayorship of Cuiabá, his victory became extremely controversial among the local landed oligarchy, whom denied him possibility of doing any important work besides vague promises. With 1934 however, those same oligarchs fell victim to a twist of fate, as they themselves became increasingly dependent upon his political power as part of Brazil's byzantine governmental system. Appeasing all groups around him in a intricate web of political intrigue, Arruda eventually decided to take them down by siding with the Pajama Revolt, having key help from Filinto Müller in securing the western areas.

To the surprise of many, after the collapse of Brazil Arruda managed to hold onto his little island of a city as a neutral and independent warlord. As time wound on, circumstance would end up slowly bringing him closer to the world of the "Black" Market, and thus giving him the present reputation He has loddy. As Arruda has become evermore associated with groups of smugglers and traders across Brazil, he has notably used the money received in excess of this s smuggling to to the benefit of his own people - continuing the construction of several projects despite the intense civil conflict and poverty occurring in the rest of Brazil. Whilst under normal circumstance this would generate immense controversy, the man is deeply popular with his people, and as much as outsiders with desires to unify the region in their own vision despise him, his soldiers loyally keep the shining city bright.
