Outlaw 4-member unit from prison
Character page for the members of the rap group 獄Luck (GokuLuck) from Paradox Live. Beware of possible unmarked spoilers.

In prison, their skills were acknowledged by taking the top ranks in Prison Rap. They put out heavy rap based on their dissatisfaction with society and resentment toward their own circumstances. They overwhelm the stage with a unique approach and radical lyrics.

Character Designer: Lack
Image Color: Red Orange (main)
Lyricist: TAISHI (smellnomania)

Tropes that apply to the group
  • Character Development: Yuto believes that everyone has a chance at redemption, even himself, which is why he tries his best to understand and take care of the inmates despite their treatment of him. Fortunately, the members of Gokuluck do show positive changes, little by little, with the experiences and the time that they spend together.
  • The Dreaded: Iori's noted to be scared of some of their members. Unfortunately for him, both Gokuluck and Akan Yatsura will be going up against each other in Round 1 of Road to Legend. Though Iori being Iori, it's hard to tell if he was telling the truth.
    • Within prison, all four of them are this to the other prisoners. Ryoga, Kenta, and Shion for being the top three in Prison Rap, while Yuto for challenging Ryoga and his split personality.
  • Image Song: From the -Road to Legend- matches:
  • Luxury Prison Suite: While the environment itself isn't luxury, due to the Prison Rap system, consuming alcohol and tobacco is allowed once a month. Yuto notes that even outside of Prison Rap, the prisoners smuggle in alcohol, multiple smartphones, shisha sets, and other things. It's also implied that Shion gets out of from prison from time to time.
  • Sleep Cute: In Gokuluck's day off routine, where it's even mentioned that everyone is asleep by 9pm.
  • Smoking Is Cool: All members smoke except for Kenta, who is underage. In particular, Shion mentions his latest obsession is trying out different hookah flavors, and Yuto often confiscates his shisha sets.
  • Precision F-Strike: Unlike BAE, where swearing can be seen as cool and fitting in with their age group, Gokuluck's give off a serious and violent message being prison inmates (and their crazier warden). Even the gentle Yuto agrees with their "middle finger up" theming.

Please, don’t cause any trouble...
Click here  to see him in his alternate appearance

Prison guard and former mercenary. A pacifist, he’s polite to everyone and seems a bit undependable. However, this is only his superficial persona. Under certain conditions, a rather vicious and extreme opposite persona emerges.

His character hashtags are #Baby-faced older guy, #Another personality when he holds the mic, and #Friendly elite prison guard. His trauma hashtags are #Branded as useless, #Even important friends, and #Which is my true self?.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: The other members of GokuLuck are all under his finger because of his Split Personality.
  • Catapult Nightmare: He has one in which his alternate self is strangling Zen and calling him a traitor. Shion muses that this wasn't a nightmare, but a manifestation of the actual memories from Yuto's alternate self, which Yuto himself "forgets" when he's back to normal mode.
  • The Dreaded: The other members of GokuLuck try not to anger him, even with his happy persona. Notably, Zen is also concerned upon meeting him, with very good reason.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: As mentioned above, Yuto believes that everyone has a chance at redemption. His split personality also agrees with that view, and thinks that those who don't view Gokuluck as people who have a chance at redemption are the ones who are failures of human beings. Unlike the gentler Yuto, the split personality just manifests this desire in the form of anger and resentment.
  • Older Than They Look: He's 32. He's the third-oldest in the cast following Haruomi and Naoakira. Yet he's shorter than even Kenta.
  • Police Brutality: The cause of Zen's trauma is that he was persecuted by a colleague when he was leaving the police force. RAGE implies this colleague to be Yuto, or rather, Yuto's alternate personality.
    • SHOWDOWN implies that Yuto's split personality beats up the inmates as form of punishment.
    • TRUST reveals that Yuto and Zen formed a buddy duo as policemen. When Zen expressed his intent to leave the police force and join the Suiseki group, Yuto felt betrayed and his alternate personality tried to kill Zen.
  • Split Personality: His normal personality is a pacifist, but under certain conditions he becomes violent. Both personalities have no memory of the other, so he's constantly worried about what his other personality gets up to when it's active.
    • SHOWDOWN reveals that since it's his split personality who participates in the rap battles, Yuto feels as if he was there but he himself has no memory of their performances. However, the original personality is the one who suffers from the trap reactions.

    Ryoga Tosa (MC Name: PITBULL)

I'm gonna eat up every last one of those bastards.

A rap king in prison. A skilled martial artist, before prison he used to be a gunslinging gangster. Not great at communicating with others— his fists tend to speak before his mouth. His anger simmers quickly to the flashpoint, and when he gets mad, his rampages are uncontrollable. He also has a compassionate side, with stronger feelings for his friends than anyone else.

His character hashtags are #Fists before words (not much of a speaker), #Mad dog without a leash, and #Pays back violence twofold. His trauma hashtags are #Ridiculed every day, #Sacrificed my best friend, and #Words I couldn't say.

  • Animal Motifs: Feral dogs. His MC name is PITBULL.
  • The Big Guy: As compared to his team members and to any other male in the series.
  • Dumb Muscle: Described as "a lowlife with no smarts who made a punching bag out of his opponent" by the sponsor of prison rap. Needless to say, Ryoga was infuriated by the insult.
  • No Social Skills: Outside of rapping, he can't speak in a straight sentence.
  • We Used to Be Friends: With Satsuki, inadvertently causing the latter's trauma. Satsuki shifted the blame towards himself during an incident caused by Ryoga, because he knew Ryoga had to take care of his mother. Satsuki hoped Ryoga would become a better person for her, but despite Satsuki's sacrifice, Ryoga still got himself in jail, betraying Satsuki's trust. However, upon reuniting, the two have buried the hatchet as Ryoga apologized and Satsuki felt his sincerity.

    Shion Kaida (MC Name: smokin'dog)

Why not forget all your troubles and enjoy yourself?

A young man with a languid personality. Born with a peculiar appearance, he spent his childhood in solitude. Now he’s a hedonist for whom the present moment is all that matters, but deep down, he seeks true connection with others. Due to his weakness to sunlight, he keeps nocturnal hours.

His character hashtags are #Hedonism, #Living in the moment, and #Whatever you enjoy is okay. His trauma hashtags are #I can't connect with anyone, #Days treated as a spectacle and #We arrived at the dark of night.

Birthday: November 11
Age: 22
Profession: Prisoner
Hobby: Tobacco
Weakness: Getting up early

  • Albinos Are Freaks: Has been treated like this his whole life. He calls Hokusai weird for not reacting this way.
  • Animal Motifs: White dogs. His MC name is smokin'dog.
  • Commonality Connection: With Hokusai, since they were both treated as "different" from normal people for things that are out of their control (Hokusai's father being a convicted criminal, Shion for being born albino).
  • Double Entendre: Speaks in this way intentionally. For example, he refers to a meeting with him, Hokusai, and the latter's favorite cat as a 3P. And it's an actual cat, not a Sexual Euphemism.
  • Frame-Up: Implied. He proudly introduces himself as someone who stabbed a person in a casino back alley. But his trap reaction involves several people accusing him of stabbing someone, and Shion in the middle of it all strongly denying the claims.
  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy
  • Lust Object: His beauty and albinism led to him being the object of attention of many perverts and stalkers. The guy he stabbed was one of his persistent admirers.

     Kenta Mikoshiba (MC Name: anonymous)

You think you can beat me with your insect-like IQ?

A genius hacker who uses his advanced skills however he likes. As a child, he created a virus that could have wreaked havoc on the world. A cynic happy to take advantage of others, he’s aware that he has a troublesome personality, although he has no intention of fixing it. However, he has a soft spot for his allies.

His character hashtags are #✝Black-hearted criminal✝, #Win by being provocative, #Reject goddamn small fry. His trauma hashtags are #Dangerous brain, #Unleashed hands, and #A lie named trust.

  • Affectionate Nickname: More accurate to call it as an affectionate insult. Shion calls him Shibaken from Mikoshiba Kenta, which is also used to refer to a Shiba inu.
  • Annoying Younger Sibling: Fits into this role in Gokuluck.
  • The Baby of the Bunch: The youngest of the Gokuluck members at 15, he is the only one who can't smoke since he hasn't come of age yet.
  • Bratty Half-Pint: Yuto desperately tries to get him to be a more polite teenager, to no avail. When paired with Reo, both of them just throw insults at each other.
    • Notably, on one occasion, Yuto strongly defends Kenta's insolent attitude: when the sponsor of prison rap insults Ryoga and Shion, and advises Kenta to fix his attitude and use his genius for the police force. Kenta responds by pouring water over the sponsor's head.
  • Chuunibyou: The other members point out that's he's not just in his rebellious phase, but he also has this.
  • Enfant Terrible: He's in prison at 15. When he was a child, he created a virus that endangered the whole world.
  • The Gadfly: He is the one who often picks a fight with the other members of Gokuluck.
  • Insufferable Genius: He frequently rubs it in the other's faces. His genius is acknowledged even by the police officers, to the point where the officer who is the sponsor of prison rap even offers him a chance to leave prison as long as he fixes his attitude.
  • Jerkass
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: As much as he likes riling up the other members and being a Jerkass in general, he grows to like the team, appreciates the things Yuto does for them, and even shows concern when the other members are plagued with their trap reactions.
  • Number of the Beast: Present in his Twitter username.
  • Playful Hacker
