Team Khanivore

    Sonnie

Sonnie

Voiced By: Helen Sadler (English), Yuko Kaida (Japanese), Alexa Navarro (Latin American Spanish)

  • Blue Is Heroic: Sonnie's bioluminescent tattoos glow blue, and she is the most sympathetic character, as a woman who only tries to stay alive, fighting downright despicable people.
  • Butch Lesbian: Played With. Sonnie is plenty beautiful, but she doesn't present a particularly feminine appearance in her style of dress. That being said, her thong straps are visible at all times.
  • Defiant to the End: Even as she lays mortally wounded with most of her head crushed, she taunts Dicko and Jennifer. However, it's subverted in that it's not the end for Sonnie: she's alive within Khanivore, which is her main body from which she controls her human form.
  • Emergency Transformation: After being ripped apart by her kidnappers, her consciousness was placed into Khanivore permanently.
  • Face of a Thug: Sonnie's human face looks quite threatening with all the scars, a Kubrick Stare and the Delinquent Hair that she sports. And yet, she is the good guy, especially when put in contrast with Jennifer, who looks as innocent as a kitten with her baby face and blond hair, and yet is nothing more but a remorseless assasin who works for the Big Bad of the story.
  • Feels No Pain: Sonnie appears to not even realize she's walking barefoot on broken glass, probably because it's just her Remote Body.
  • Freudian Excuse: Her gang-rape at the hands of an "estate gang" has filled her with enough rage to always win in the beast fights. It's then subverted. Sonnie herself dismisses this as nonsense, and the truth is far simpler and more logical: Khanivore is now her real body, and in every fight, her life is on the line.
  • Gender-Blender Name: Sonnie is a fairly masculine name.
  • Had to Be Sharp: The reason she fights and wins so often is because if she loses, she dies for good.
  • Rape as Backstory: She was kidnapped by an "estate gang" who gang-raped and beat her.
  • Remote Body: While most of the beasts function as this during fights, Sonnie inverts this — having had her consciousness implanted into Khanivore and controls her otherwise brain-dead human body via an implanted chip.
  • Rugged Scar: Her face is scared as a reminder of her Dark and Troubled Past.
  • Serpent of Immortality: Her tattoos have viper motifs, she even makes her grand entrance on the fighting pit, while a viper is showing on a huge screen. All that is to show that the old Sonnie died but was also revived in the body of Khanivore.
  • Tank-Top Tomboy: A Butch Lesbian who wears a dirty, white top with black cargo pants.

    Wes

Wes

Voiced By: Omid Abtahi (English), Ryo Shimokawa (Japanese)

    Ivrina

Ivrina

Voiced By: Christine Adams
  • Lady Swears-a-Lot: The most profane female character in the episode.
  • Magic Skirt: She wears an outfit that would even have Jack asking questions. Specifically, its a leather jacket with nothing underneath but glowing bodypaint. An open leather jacket. It's not even taped down or anything, since you can catch a brief glimpse of an areola in a few shots.

    Khanivore

Khanivore

Voiced By: N/A

  • Bizarre Alien Biology: According to the short story, she has no internal organs and has a supply of preoxygenated blood injected before every fight.
  • Confusion Fu: She fights by tiring out its opponents and constantly keeping on her feet, never staying in one place for long and striking from a distance.
  • Combat Tentacles: Her tail splits into four spiked tentacles she can use to walk around on or as very potent weapons.
  • Death by a Thousand Cuts: Her preferred method of combat, as her blows may not be hugely impactful on an individual level, but they'll wear down her foe eventually.
  • Xenomorph Xerox: Khanivore looks like a reptilic xenomorph.

Team Turboraptor

    Simon

Simon

Voiced By: Hakeem Kae-Kazim (English), Masafumi Kimura (Japanese)

  • Bald of Evil: Downplayed as he doesn't do anything evil, but he is downright verbally abusive to his helpers.
  • Jerkass: He's a swaggering asshole from minute one.
  • Large Ham: Simon makes his entrance by shouting and flexing his muscles.
  • Red Is Violent: Simon has tattoos that glow red, he is very short tempered, and swears a lot.
  • Scary Black Man: He is physically imposing, and is not a friendly person at all.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: He enters the arena telling Sonnie how he will destroy her, too bad Sonnie gives him a sound defeat and kills his monster.

    Turboraptor

Turboraptor

Voiced By: N/A

  • Admiring the Abomination: Team Khanivore can't help but gush about Turboraptor's arm blade. Despite chopping off a piece of Khanivore each time it hit, or perhaps precisely because of that, the team admire how it was a completely legal modification as the blade wasn't metal and they wonder how Turboraptor was modded.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: After getting his arm torn off, Turboraptor sprouts a blade from the stump.
  • Body Armor as Hit Points: Turboraptor has a thick, almost rocky hide. The hide doesn't reduce or deflect Khanivore's attacks and each time she claws him, a chunk of the hide gets ripped off. But if he didn't have protective hide, her attacks would have gone straight to his vitals.
  • Non-Indicative Name: His name indicates that he is a raptor-esque Lightning Bruiser. In reality, while fairly fast, he is more of a Mighty Glacier — especially compared to Khanivore — and bears absolutely no resemblance to a raptor.

Other Characters

    Dicko

Dicko

Voiced By: Time Winters (English), Yutaka Aoyama (Japanese)

  • Big Bad: He's the corrupt owner of the fighting ring and conspires to murder Sonnie after she rejects his offer.
  • A Dick in Name: His name is Dicko and he is a big jerkass.
  • Evil Brit: Downplayed since everyone else in this episode is also British, but his Received Pronunciation accent helps him fit the bill.
  • Evil Cripple: Walks with a limp and uses a heavy cane for support. The sound the cane makes always precedes him.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Dicko puts on a gentlemanly facade, but he struggles to keep it up and the facade itself is mostly unfiltered smugness.

    Jennifer

Jennifer

Voiced By: Hayley McLaughlin

    Announcer

The Announcer

Voiced By: Braden Lynch

  • Large-Ham Announcer: As befitting someone with his job; he's good at getting the crowd riled up.
