Edina Monsoon

  • Alcoholic Parent: To Serge and Saffy.

  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Patsy.
  • It's All About Me: She is extremely self centered.
  • Impractically Fancy Outfit: Eddie is frequently seen wearing an array of haute couture and vintage clothing, most notably from Christian Lacroix. She carries this off with varying degrees of success.
  • Lady Drunk: Very much so.
  • Mama Bear: She can be a fierce protector of her children when she bothers to. She once punched Saffy's married professor square in the face for trying to have an affair with her.
  • Rich in Dollars, Poor in Sense: Eddie is very wealthy but not very responsible.
    • She tries to buy into the height of fashion every time she finds out about a trend. Unfortunately for her, she doesn't find out about any trend until it's already died off.

Patsy Stone

Played By: Joanna Lumley

  • The Alcoholic: Frequently wasted on a plethora of drugs and alcohol. In one episode she's shown to be living above a liquor store.
  • Beehive Hairdo: Her trademark.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Has a parasitic relationship with Eddie. Patsy absolutely hates the thought of her spending time with someone else or doing things Patsy disapproves of.
  • The Corrupter
  • Fashionable Evil
  • The Fashionista: Is a director for an exclusive fashion magazine and is usually seen impecabble styled and tailored.
Patsy: Hello, Alex. This is the mood board for the next edition: sex, bitch, aristo, sex, punk, whore, bitch, prossie, lesie, punk, tart, slut. Oh but Alex, Alex, with lovely shoes.

  • Gender Bender: Lived as a man for a time in the 70s before "it fell off".
  • Grandma, What Massive Hotness You Have!: Patsy is ancient, yet has very little trouble having much younger paramours. It's easy to keep your figure and looks when you haven't eaten since 1973 and have essentially been embalmed by massive amounts of drugs.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: With Eddie.
  • Hilariously Abusive Childhood: Patsy was the youngest of many children born to an aging bohemian who despised her and locked her away for most of her childhood. Patsy instead relied on Eddie's family for food, shelter and love and claims to have blocked out everything before 1968 from her memory.
  • It's All About Me: Shows almost all the traits of someone with Narcissistic Personality Disorder.
  • Jerkass: Her treatment of Saffy.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Her relationship with Edina.

  • Really Gets Around: Despite no longer in her prime as a youthful fashion model, Patsy is still successful with a variety of men.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Eddie's red. Patsy is usually calmer and more calculating than her bestfriend.
  • Socialite
  • She's Got Legs: Patsy's outfits usually show a lot of leg and are accentuated by tights and stilettos.
