"Let's Get Digital"

"New Partners and New Situations"

  • Serving as a Mythology Gag to the anime Digimon Adventure 02, Flash ends up freeing Veemon by moving the Digimental of Courage, and Armor Digivolving into Flamedramon to beat Monochromon.
  • Shining Armor's introduction is this, quickly demonstrating why he is the best player in Codex.
    • When a large group of Tyrannomon attack Flash and Veemon shortly after they deal with Monochromon, they are saved by a Cyberdramon, accompanied by Micro Chips and Kabuterimon. Shortly afterwards it is revealed that this Cyberdramon is actually Shining Armor Biomerged with his partner Monodramon, and Shining was the one in control.
    • Micro explains that Shining was one of the first Codex players online, being the first to make it to Rookie, Champion, and Ultimate levels, and soon will be the first Mega Level Player too.
  • The chapter ends with Flash beginning his very first Codex match.

"A Rocky First Fight"

  • Flash initially seems to have a clear edge in his match against Coconut Crasher, due to having an extra Security thanks to using his partner Digimon Veemon and already having a Digivolution. However, Crashed shows he's not the only In-Training Player who can Digivolve, by Digivolving from Gotsumon to Golemon, explaining the Golemon he scanned Digivolved, allowing him to get another scan of it. Proving that nobody in Codex should be underestimated, no matter what their level might be or what you have experienced yourself.
  • The last advantage that Flash has over Crusher is the Battle Gear that Micro gave him before the battle. The Dragon Booster turns out to be a Jet Pack that gets Flamedramon out of the river he fell into and gives him an aerial advantage.
  • Though it ends up coming down to the wire with both Players being out of Securities at the end, Flash narrowly manages to win his first match and Rank Up to the Rookie Level.
  • Flash's first visit to the Digi-Lab:
    • Gennai is able to do as he said in the previous chapter and is able to copy and reintroduce Veemon's data to the Digital World to ensure he won't be The Last of His Kind. He then offers to buy the Digimental of Courage off Flash to sell scans of it at the Digi-Store. Rather than keep it and have a monopoly on it, Flash agrees to sell it for five thousand Digidollars.
    • Flash puts his newfound money to good use by Digivolving his scans. He Digivolves Veemon to Veedramon and AeroVeedramon. Veedramon even says he feels even more powerful than he does as Flamedramon. Flash also Digivolves Flamedramon to BurningGreymon and then de-Digivolves him to obtain Agunimon and Flamemon, unlocking another evolution line of one of the main protagonists.

"How to be a Digimon"

  • Sandalwood faces Flash in a Beta-Stadium to teach him how to truly be a Digimon by following his instincts.
  • Sandalwood's chosen location doesn't initially seem like it benefits his chosen Digimon, his partner Mangoramon. But then it is revealed that this location actually puts Flash at a disadvantage due to him using his Flamedramon and BurningGreymon deck, with their fire attacks being weakened by the river and water there. Plus, the Battle Gear Sandalwood uses, Spray Blaster, is one meant for fighting Fire Digimon and fueled by water, making it a perfect combination of location and Battle Gear.
  • Mangoramon reveals to Digivolve into Arbormon and Petaldramon, the Warrior of Wood. The climax of the battle between Petaldramon and BurningGreymon feels like a tribute to Digimon Frontier.

"Digital Exploration"

  • Micro takes Flash to his friend Datamon. There, Datamon lets players scan the Battle Gear he creates for a price of either a certain amount of Digidollars or rare scans. Flash purchases a scan of a Battle Gear called Volt-Edge from him, to help him fight Water Digimon.
  • Datamon explains how he works to create new types of Digimon by improving on existing ones, explaining how another Datamon actually created the first MetalGreymon.
Datamon: A Greymon wanted to become stronger, but couldn't seem to Digivolve into any of the other Digivolutions that existed for it at the time. So it went to a Datamon, asking for its help. It happily obliged and started experimenting on the creature. Eventually, it found a way to transform parts of Greymon's body into a machine. And thus, MetalGreymon was born. And when it was eventually deleted, the data that made up its enhanced body became one with the Digital Word and every Greymon gained the ability to Digivolve into one.
  • Datamon secretly scans Veemon after learning how he is a rare one of a kind Digimon, and we are give a tease to his evolution ExVeemon.
  • When Flash and Micro see Leomon fighting against Ebidramon, Shellmon, and Gesomon to protect some Rookies from them, Veemon and Tentomon Digivolve to Veedramon and Kabuterimon to assist him. The battle is still tough, especially when Flash learns it is much harder Digivolving outside of Codex to the point almost nobody has been able to get their parters to reach Ultimate yet, with even Shining Armor having only managed it a few months ago. But upon realizing they can still use their Battle Gear, they quickly dispatch of Ebidramon and Shellmon, with Gesomon retreating upon realizing it's outnumbered three to one.

"A Tricky Opponent to Fight"

  • Flash faces Trixie in his first official Rookie Level battle, and if Trixie wins she will rank up to Champion Level.
    • The battle initially starts in Trixie's favor thanks to her selecting Cascading Valley as the battlefield, giving her Lunamon, a Water attribute Digimon, the advantage. But Flash manages to turn the field against her using his Volt-Edge Battle Gear, electrifying the water and zapping her. The Volt-Edge proves useful throughout the battle, and there are several times when it takes away half of Trixie's current security when Flash lands a strong blow on her with it.
    • Flash realized Lunamon was a water attribute before the battle, so instead of using Flamedramon or BurningGreymon, which would have put him at a major disadvantage, he uses Veedramon.
    • Trixie manages to get an Ultimate Digimon first. This puts Flash at a disadvantage, especially when she destroys his Battle Gear. While trying to run for a Digivolution Coin he needs to deal with Crescemon before she gets it first again. So he launches a V-Breath Arrow at maximum power at her. Even though she guards against it she is still sent flying backwards, an impressive feat for a Champion to do that to an Ultimate considering the massive power difference between them, which even Trixie comments on by stating "What the heck is that thing?" in disbelief.
    • After Digivolving into AeroVeedramon, the battle reaches a climax with a High-Altitude Battle between the two Ultimates; Flash using his wings and Trixie using her own Air Soles Battle Gear. At the end, both of their last securities are broken at the same time, but Trixie's Battle Gear is also destroyed from the strain, causing her to crash into the ground and burst into data from the impact, thus giving Flash the win.

"Making Friends and Making Enemies"

  • Flash goes on a Digimon Hunt at Trixie's suggestion to scan a Champion form for his Betamon scan. While there, he and Veemon spot Twilight and her partner Tawnimon on a quest of their own. He ends up warning her when a Seadramon sneaks up on her.
  • After the Betamon, Otamamon, and Syokomon all Digivolve into Seadramon, one last Betamon remained before Digivolving into Airdramon instead, with Twilight and Flash deciding to chase after it and get a scan of it.
  • Twilight gives Flash a few tips during their adventure together, including showing him how to Biomerge with his scans to become a Digimon. This leads to the two of them and their partners all battling Airdramon until Twilight can get the scans they need.

"The Castle in the Clouds"

  • The chapter begins with Flash having just won another battle in Codex. Instead of Veemon this time though, he decided to use his new Betamon and Airdramon scans. Despite the disadvantage he had due to not having an Ultimate form for Airdramon and having one less Security than usual without Veemon, he managed to easily win by defeating his opponent before they could go Ultimate.
  • After it is explained how Lightning Dust prefers using small and fast Digimon to use Hit-and-Run Tactics, as opposed to more traditional larger Digimon, it initially seems like Micro has made a bad decision choosing an indoor location to battle in. But then, he surprises everyone by using the scan of the Digimental of Courage Flash gave him to Armor Digivolve into FlameWizardmon instead of regular Digivolving into Kabuterimon.
  • Micro Digivolving into Mistymon, a Digimon he says he befriended a long time ago who let him scan him, but could never use before because he didn't have a Digimon to use with him until now. The battle ends quickly after that, with it being almost completely in Mistymon's favor.

"Battle Down the Mines"

  • The group faces an Ultimate Level Digimon in the Digital World for the first time; an Armormon who has been having Fangmon kidnap the Monmon from his old village and force them to work in his mine. Though the group seems outclassed at first due to only being at the Champion level, but they manage to win by using the area to their advantage and collapsing the mine on top of Armormon.
  • Armormon survives the battle and is dug out of the mine by an unseen Digimon, who invites him to join a group called the Virus Corp, to help their master achieve his destiny of destroying the Digital World.

"Digital Battle of the Sexes"

  • When MagnaAngemon is used during Sandalwood and Trixie's battle, Twilight explains how that is a rare scan because you can't Digivolve a scan into it and can thus only get it by scanning the real MagnaAngemon.
  • When Flash says how he doesn't feel like Lillymon stands a chance against MagnaAngemon, Twilight tells him a story of how the real Lillymon defeated Volcamon and his Meramon henchmen, when they tried to destroy the forest she lived in. When she stood against them, Volcamon tried to capture her and turn her into a dancing girl for his stage. She blasted the Meramon into a nearby lake and then dealt with Volcamon himself, destroying him with three point-blank Flower Cannon shots. Twilight's story is proven to have merit when Lillymon defeats MagnaAngemon, winning Sandalwood the battle.

"Like it Ore Not, The Hunt is On"

  • After a majority of the chapter being Flash and Micro competing against Rarity, Fluttershy, and Pinkie Pie in a race for a rare ore to give Datamon and finish one of his new Battle Gears, feeling a lot similar to the Girls vs. Boys Plot from the last chapter, the two ultimately come together to defeat Landramon.
  • After defeating Landramon and going to retrieve the ore together, the group finds not just the small amount they needed but an entire chamber full of it. This gives them more than enough for Datamon to finish both Battle Gears instead of just one, and they manage to haggle him into letting them all scan them both and three other Battle Gears for free in the future.

"Playing for Keep"

  • It is clear that despite lacking a partner Digimon, Jet Set's skills as a player are genuine, so his previous boast of being "one of the best competitors in the Rookie Stadium" and being undefeated so far hold merit. He actually manages to eliminate an entire Security from Flash before Flash manages to damage him even once.
  • We finally learn how DNA Digivolving works in Codex. Players can place another Digimon scan in the item slot, which normally wouldn't do anything at all, but the right combination will allow a DNA Digivolution between that Digimon and the one you battle as. Jet Set places Ogremon in his item slot and combines him with his Devimon to become SkullSatamon.

"Crushing Loss"

  • Doubling as a tearjerker, but Twilight confronting Flash at school and calling him out for not logging into Codex for three days or doing anything to help Veemon.
  • Shining and Monodramon follow Flash when they see him in Codex and save him when he gets in over his head trying to find a rare Digimon to scan, pointing out he won't be able to save Veemon if he's dead.
  • Shining takes Flash to the Beta-Stadium to battle him, to help him think of a strategy to learn against Jet in the future and help train him by giving him tips on how to both use his Digimon instincts but not let them overwhelm him and to use his own mind as a Player to think ahead and strategize.
  • Flash is shown to have made a deck for Leomon like he wanted to after scanning him, and uses it in his training battle with Shining.

"Lessons Learned the Hard Way"

  • Flash and Shining's practice match continues, with Shining explaining to Flash how he needs to get inside of his opponents' heads to figure out what they're thinking a prepare a way to counter them instead of just relying on blind luck.
Shining: It's not what you do in the battle that only matters. It's also everything you do before it.
  • It is revealed that Flash Digivolved his scan of Leomon, becoming GrapLeomon.
  • We see a Mega Level Digimon for the first time in a battle, when Shining becomes a Justimon, and quickly wipes the floor with Flash with his different arm modes.
  • Despite losing the battle, Flash learned what he needed to in order to beat Jet. To help him with that, Shining lets him borrow scans of Monodramon, Strikedramon, and Cyberdramon, knowing Jet won't be able to resist accepting an Ante-Match to win them. After he and Monodramon leave, Flash stays behind to practice with his new scans and studying the best location to use; presumably for the entire night.
  • When Twilight and her friends see Jet laughing and enjoying himself unpunished the next morning, they prepare to march over to him and beat the living snot out of him, consequences be damned. They are only stopped when Flash makes his big entrance, shouting out Jet Set's name for the whole foyer to hear before stomping up to him and demanding another Ante-Battle. When Jet sees the three rare scans Flash is willing to wager, his greedy side gets the better of him and he can't help but accept, with the entire crowd cheering Flash on.

"A Rematch To Remember"

  • Right away, Flash shows he has learned his lesson from last time and this time allows Gennai to explain the rules of an Ante-Battle in full, just to make sure there are no more surprises waiting for him that Jet purposely neglected to share.
  • Jet tries to throw Flash off his game by using Veemon in the battle, but Flash already predicted he would do this and thus isn't phased by it. Instead it gives Flash an early lead since he knows how Jet will fight better than Jet himself thanks to using Veemon so much, and since Jet doesn't use Veemon himself not only did he not gain an extra Security, Flash doesn't need to hold back out of fear of hurting his friend.
  • Once Flash and Jet both reach their Ultimate levels, Cyberdramon and Manticoremon, Flash still has the advantage since being a Dark Vaccine, his moves are four times effective against a Light Virus, but Manticoremon's Light attacks will deal him a lot of damage too. It comes down to both of them being out of Securities, with whoever gets hit first losing. Through a glitch or the bond they shared, Flash can hear Veemon cheering for him from inside Jet's Digivice and through Heroic Willpower manages to land the killing blow in a Single-Stroke Battle.
  • After Flash and Veemon are happily reunited, Gennai immediately updates the rules of Ante-Battles so that Digimon partners can no longer be won, making it so Jet or anyone like him can never do this again.
  • Shining allows Flash to keep the scans he let him borrow, with them discovering that Veemon can Digivolve into Strikedramon after rearranging his deck, and Veedramon can Digivolve into Cyberdramon.
  • Flash and Veemon finally decide what their goal is. They will become good enough so that Shining Armor will challenge them one day when he feels they are worthy, and they'll become the new best team in Codex.

"Avians and Insects"

  • The Battle Gear that Twilight uses in her match against Thorax is called Aero Blaster, and it's a twin gatling gun that attaches to her back.
  • Twilight and Thorax stay evenly matched throughout the battle, with both of them reaching their Ultimate Levels by the time they have 2 Securities left. Also, while Flash is in amazement of CresTawnimon, Rarity says her Mega form is even better, basically confirming that Twilight's deck does indeed have a Mega. Though the battle ends before she can use it.
  • When Thorax tries to blind Twilight's sight by creating a dust cloud while battling. Though Twilight admits that an owl's best sense is their eyesight, their hearing isn't bad either and is easily able to find Thorax due to the heavy machinery on his body.
  • Twilight winning the battle by sending Thorax crashing back into the mountain.

"Taking it to the Ex-Treme"

  • Flash and Veemon are captured by Hudiemon's forces, and Flash loses his Digivice, meaning they can't escape and Veemon can't Digivolve. Veemon is forced into a hopeless fight against Stingmon and is beaten down by him. But Veemon refusing to abandon Flash and Flash refusing to let things end like this, causes his Digivive to activate from far away, something Twilight says should be impossible. Veemon ends up catching a kick from Stingmon and Digivolves into his natural Champion evolution, ExVeemon, and fights back against Stingmon, easily beating him.
  • While ExVeemon fights Stingmon and Flash's friends all arrive to help, the stadium is thrown into so much chaos that Thorax is able to get a scan of Stingmon and Fluttershy gets one of Hudiemon, and Twilight scans the stadium location herself before everyone promptly ports out.

"The Knight's Tale"

  • We get the official introduction of the Royal Knights.
    • They make their grand appearance in their throne room where Flash, Micro, Trixie, and Sandalwood stare up at them in awe. Their members currently include Omnimon, Craniamon, Dynasmon, Crusadermon, Duftmon, and Kentaurosmon. It is also stated later that Gankoomon exists too but is currently away on an important task and hasn't checked in for some time.
    • The real Royal Knights are such legends that Micro says there isn't a single Codex Player with a scan of any of them, which Crusadermon confirms, stating they don't give their power to anyone so easily, and the group are the first humans to ever step foot in their castle, a true honor.
  • The Royal Knights explain their origins to the group through the legend of their founder, Imperialdramon, starting with how Yggdrasil created Imperialdramon to destroy Armageddemon (called by his title "The World Breaker").
  • The story of Imperialdramon also reveals Veemon's Heroic Lineage to him and the Royal Knights. When Imperialdramon fell in love with Ophanimon and started a family with her, they gave birth to the first two Veemon, which eventually became the first two Royal Knights in existence, UlforceVeedramon and Magnamon, which led to Imperialdramon recruiting others by sharing his power with them to create the Royal Knights.
  • After the story, the Royal Knights reveal their reason for inviting the group to their castle. They want Veemon to stay with them and train with them, due to his heritage with the knights and hoping he can become their new UlforceVeedramon or Magnamon to replenish their numbers. Despite this honor presented, Veemon decides to stick with Flash and their goal to become the strongest team in Codex.

"Royal Knighting"

  • Flash meets a Wingdramon, who is training under the Royal Knights with his brother Breakdramon to one day DNA Digivolve into the Royal Knight Examon. When Wingdramon confesses to Flash he is holding off from Digivolving into Slayerdramon to protect his brother from suffering Death of Personality when they become Examon, Flash immediately offers to help him find a way to help them both become knights without either of them dying.
  • When Flash takes his scan of Wingdramon to the Digi-Labs and Digivolves it into Slayerdramon, he explains what is happening to Gennai, who then takes his Slayerdramon scan and modifies it so Breakdramon can DNA Digivolve with it instead, and since it is mindless that means nobody will need to sacrifice their lives in the process.
  • While in the Digi-Labs, Flash discovers something while looking at Wingdramon's other evolutions. Wingdramon can also potentially become UlforceVeedramon, whose image is now visible because Flash saw a hologram of it in the Digital World, meaning it is possible for both brothers to become knights.
  • A rampaging Orochimon Digivolves into the Mega-Level Virus type Nidhoggmon. This actually triggers the Royal Knights' Digital Hazard alarm, which only goes off for something with the power to destroy the Digital World.
  • Despite knowing how dangerous the situation is, Flash insists that Kentaurosmon bring him and Veemon with him against Nidhoggmon, since if his plan works they'll have three knights fighting Nidhoggmon instead of just one. The knights agree, and upon arriving, Flash helps the brothers Wingdramon and Breakdramon Digivolve into UlforceVeedramon and Examon respectively.
  • Not long after the brothers Digivolve, the rest of the Royal Knights arrive, and all join forces to stop Nidhoggmon. Flash and the others all watch in awe as the knights fire their most powerful attacks at the monster, one after the other, with Examon dealing the final blow. It is also great to see the Royal Knights, infamous for constantly getting depicted with Adaptational Villainy, are shown fighting to protect the Digital World as the heroes they are supposed to be.
  • As thanks for all their help, Omnimon offers them to name their own prize and they will do all in their power to make it happen. Flash, on behalf of the group asks if they can scan the knights. After a moment of thought, UlforceVeedramon and Examon are the first to step forward and agree, quickly followed by the others, deciding their new allies had earned their trust. Remember before it was stated no Codex Players had a scan of any of the Royal Knights; and now these four all have scans of eight of them!
    • Micro plans to add his scan of Dynasmon to his deck of Tentomon, FlameWizardmon, and Mistymon.
    • Sandalwood is especially excited about his scan of Kentaurosmon, saying he is going to De-Digivolve him as soon as he gets back and get the complete line.
    • Trixie says Crusadermon can Digivolve from MagnaAngemon.
    • Flash has the most combinations available for his scans of the knights, having multiple evolution paths to become UlforceVeedramon, Examon, and Dynasmon. It is even speculated that because of Veemon's connection to the history of the Royal Knights, there are probably ways he can turn into any of them.

"Memories on the Track"

  • The chapter opens during the climax of a match between Flash and another player as Wingdramon and Divemon respectively. The two are pretty evenly matched, despite Divemon having Home Field Advantage, soon as Flash Digivolves to UlforceVeedramon he quickly wipes the floor with Divemon thanks to his speed, even turning the field against him by creating a whirlpool.
  • Flash, Micro, Trixie, and Sandalwood have all been on serious winning streaks since getting scans of every Royal Knight. Despite that though, Flash knows they can't get comfortable relying on the Royal Knights, especially since he doesn't want Trixie and Sandalwood to keep their partners side-lined.
  • A majority of the chapter shows how Twilight and her friends all met in Berry Town, when they helped a group of Tawnimon reclaim their home from a group of Jazamon and their leader Jazardmon, ultimately resulting in Jazardmon's destruction when he refuses to accept defeat. It also shows how Rainbow became partners with Kamemon, who was a Heroic Bystander at the time, and confirms that the HooTawnimon Twilight befriends is her future partner.

"The Dragon Soul Stones"

  • Flash is confirmed to be one win away from ranking up to Champion Level.
  • Every Codex Player receives a message from the Digital World asking for help. Multiple players, including Flash and his friends, answer the call and discover it to be a Resistance against an army of Virus Digimon.
    • This army includes multiple Digimon like Clockmon, Frigimon, Gorillamon and others. Flash even reunites with Leomon.
    • The leaders of the army who explain everything are MagnaAngemon, Angewomon, and a rare Digimon called Baoyendramon.
    • It is revealed that in order to Digivolve into one of the Four Great Dragons, a Digimon must use one of three Dragon Soul Stones. It is explained that only three exist in order to help prevent the evil Megidramon from coming into existence again. Thus, with the Four Great Dragons gone the four Dragon Souls Stones are set to appear, with the first one having already been located, and the Resistance has reached out for help to stop the Virus Army from obtaining any of the stones in order to prevent Megidramon from being born.
  • The leader of the Virus Army is revealed to be a WarGrowlmon, who makes his reveal fighting MagnaAngemon and Angewomon.

"A Promise Kept"

  • Flash and his friends are all attacked by Therizinomon, the strongest member of the Virus Army after their leader WarGrowlmon.
    • Despite outnumbering him, the whole group combined can barley even scratch him due to him being an Ultimate Level. Eventually, the only one left standing is Flash as Veedramon.
    • Despite being outmatched, Flash and Veemon both refuse to abandon their friends and are determined to keep their promise that not a single Virus Digimon would get passed them. This synchronization between them leads to them Digivolving into AeroVeedramon. Not only is everyone shocked to see Flash, the newest player out of all of them, be the first of them to become an Ultimate outside of Codex when it even took Shining Armor years to do it, AeroVeedramon makes quick work of Therizinomon, destroying him.
  • WarGrowlmon has seemingly defeated the three leaders of the Resistance after a long battle. But before he can finish them off and reach the Dragon Soul Stone, AeroVeedramon comes flying in. Despite struggling to keep his form much longer, he holds off the evil Virus Digimon and tells for one of the three leaders to hurry up and grab the stone. Angewoman and MagnaAngemon are too weak to move, leaving only Baoyendramon to slowly drag himself to the stone. It comes down to him and WarGrowlmon, both of them leaping for it and grabbing it only milliseconds apart. After a tense moment, it is revealed Baoyendramon got it first and Mega Digivolves into Azulongmon.

"The Ace of Codex"

  • Shining Armor finally becomes the first Mega Level player in Codex after winning his match against Blaze Burner.
    • Shining Armor decides not to use Monodramon for the battle, instead using Commandramon and Digivolving into Sealsdramon, Cargodramon, and Darkdramon over the course of the battle. Not only does this give him a type advantage, he also proves that he is just as skilled with any Digimon he uses, not just his ace and partner.
    • The battle was a clear Curb-Stomp Battle in Shining's favor. Though there seemed to be a few moment where Blaze had the advantage, it ultimately didn't amount to much since Shining always overcame them and quickly turned the battle back in his favor, and by the end of the battle he still had two Securities left, leaving him the winner by a comfortable margin.

"Battle for the Champion Title"

  • Flash is revealed to have scanned a rare weapon called the Ignislash, which is essentially a Flaming Sword only Fire Attribute Digimon can use. It can also extend itself, going from a simple knife to a sword, proving an effective weapon against Plant Digimon.
  • Daisymon uses an attack called Cleansing Synthesis that recovers half of her current Security.
  • As soon as Flash becomes BurningGreymon he dominates the remaining battle with Wallflower. For reference, they both have their entire last Security left, and he manages to complete deplete Wallflower's Security before she can do any damage to his, and even then it is because he was paralyzed briefly.
  • Flash officially ranks up to the Champion Level. As Flash says to Veemon, this changes everything, since now not only can they face even stronger players, now they and their friends don't have to go the long way to locations anymore, since he and Veemon can just port there with them thanks to not being under-leveled anymore.

"Taste of the Forbidden Fruit"

  • During the village rescue from the landslide in the beginning, ExVeemon Digivolves to Wingdramon, and uses his Blazing Sonic Breath to melt the rock of the mountain and create a line of lava that stops the boulders, then Wingdramon unleashes a gust of wind that cools the lava to stop it from reaching the village.
  • Once Micro starts using his brain instead of trying to fight like Flash he comes up with a clever idea to drop the Sena Fruit juice into the lake so it will heal Kabuterimon. It works, and Kabuterimon gets a second wind, using Electro Shocker on the lake to zap Toropiamon.
  • Micro and Sandalwood both get their partners to go Ultimate during their battles, becoming MegaKabuterimon and Petaldramon. Though Sandalwood can't get Petaldramon to stay in that form for very long, it is still impressive since now Flash isn't the only member of the group that can go Ultimate.

"Double Battle, Double Trouble"

  • We see how Tag Battles work in Codex when Applejack and Rarity battle Flash and Trixie in the Beta-Stadium to demonstrate how it is different from a regular battle. Their excellent teamwork puts both Flash and Trixie to shame as the latter duo spend the whole battle arguing with each other, and once Applejack and Rarity reach their Ultimate Levels they deliver a humiliating defeat to their bickering opponents.

"The Storm of Friendship"

  • The Codex Commanders announce that for the first time ever, they have found the location of a Digimental instead of it being randomly found by a player. Knowing it is somewhere in Magma Forest, they ask for every player ranked at Champion or higher to look for it, and whoever finds it and brings it back can decide what to do with it, either keeping it for themselves or selling it to them.
  • Flamedramon and Lekismon finally talking back to their partners and working together despite Flash and Trixie's bickering and shouting for them to get away from the "enemy".
Flamedramon: You two might be dumb enough to let a little falling out get in the way of your goals, but Lekismon and I are fine working together.
  • Flash's show of friendship to Trixie proves him worthy of the Digimental of Friendship, which Armor Digivolves Veemon into Raidramon. But when not even that is enough to beat Flaremon, who is an Ultimate Level Digimon, Trixie finally puts aside her ego and decidies to fight for something other than herself, which lets Lekismon Digivolve into Crescemon. Not only does this turn the tide against Flaremon, it makes Trixie yet another member of the group to reach the Ultimate Digivolution in the Digital World.
  • Doubling as a funny moment, Jet Set is tuned into a Karmic Butt-Monkey for the whole adventure, suffering several injuries, needing to be saved by Raidramon, and to top it off when he has the gall to demand Flash hand over the Digimental to him, Flash holds it out to him before throwing it behind himself to Trixie and the two laughing at him before porting out.

"Beach Day Mystery"

  • The opening scene has Flash in a battle in Codex using Raidramon. Though he struggles against his opponent using a Baboongamon, due to his electric attacks not doing much damage to it, he ends up turning things in his favor by Digivolving Raidramon into KendoGarurumon and quickly ending the battle. Everyone watching except Twilight (who knew about it beforehand) is surprised by this.
Sandalwood: No way. Isn't he a member of the Legendary Warriors, just like Arbormon?
Mangoramon: Yup. He's the Beast Warrior of Light, said to the fastest of the Ten Legendary Warriors. The only one said to equal his strength is BurningGreymon.
Tentomon: What are the odds that Flash would gain two Legendary warriors from Armor Digimon?
  • After the match, Flash reveals that he not only got KendoGarurumon, but also de-Digivolved him to get Strabimon and Lobomon too, which even impresses Shining Armor. Flash says practising with them isn't easy though, since Strabimon's as hard to control as Strikedramon.
  • Lunamon reveals she can Armor Digivolve with the Digimental of Friendship into Rabbitmon.
  • What seems like is going to be a relaxing Beach Episode turns into everyone getting involved with the infamous Dark Oceon.

"Dark Waves Rising"

  • Flash, Micro, Sandalwood, and Trixie are inspired by Jijimon's dying words to believe in themselves to take away the Dark Ocean's strength, and are able to Warp Digivolve their partners from Rookie to Ultimate, getting around the Dark Ocean preventing them from reach Champion or Armor. The four of them work together against Dagomon, and are able to defeat the evil eldritch Digimon, save their friends, and return to the Digital World while sealing the breach.
  • The final scene reveals the Dark Ocean contains the Digimental of Darkness.

"The Battle of Milk and Cookies"

  • Flash and Veemon have been trying to find out what Digimon ExVeemon DNA Digivolves with, wanting to keep getting stronger after everything that has happened recently. Though they haven't had any luck so far.
  • Pinkie and Rainbow end up being matched to battle each other in Codex, and both get to show off their partner's Ultimate Levels. It comes down to one final attack from both of them, with Pinkie narrowly taking the win.

"Mirror Mirror"

  • Flash becomes Lobomon for the first time on-screen to fight Armormon.

"Burying the Hatchet"

  • As everyone else continues to battle on the surface, Flash still ends up helping while underground by talking to Megadramon. He finds out that Megadramon was the Airdramon he and Twilight fought together and that he hates being a Virus and only joined WarGrowlmon because he had no where else to go. Flash convinces him that being a Virus doesn't automatically make him evil, informing him there are even Royal Knights that are Viruses, and that he doesn't need to follow WarGrowlmon's path and be a destroyer. By the time the two get out from underground, Megadramon has decided to turn against WarGrowlmon, and his interference stops him from getting the Dragon Soul Stone.
  • As Megadramon holds back WarGrowlmon, Paildramon carries Angewomon to the stone and allows her to Mega Digivolve to Magnadramon. Shortly after this, since the stone is gone, Azulongmon arrives via a portal, forcing the Virus Army to retreat in defeat once again.

  • Thorax discovers the Digimental of Reliability, and although has some trouble with it at first due to personal issues, he is eventually accepted by it. He then gives it to Flash and Veemon uses it to Armor Digivolve to Depthmon and easily deals with Akhlumon, sealing him up once again.
  • After Thorax sells the Digimental of Reliability to the Codex Commanders, he sees that Grubmon can use it to Armor Digivolve into Tylomon. Twilight also notices how all the Digimon that use it seem to be aquatic in nature and theorizes there will be a lot more water battles from now on.

"Fighting Blind"

  • Jet reveals he now has a true partner of his own, a rare Digimon called Dracmon, who fans of the franchise might remember is a natural carrier of the X-Antibody.

This includes briefly seeing X versions of several Digimon, including of the Royal Knights like Omnimon, Magnamon, Gallantmon, and the very first appearance of Alphamon!

"Rosewell that Ends Well"

  • When investigating Micro's sudden disappearance, Flash, Twilight, and the Codex Commanders realize that someone sent Micro a bogus message that caused him to go somewhere he can't be tracked and could have put him in danger. Gennai tracks the IP Address of the message and they discover it was Jet who sent the message. When they confront him over this, he tries to lie his way out of it by saying he just challenge Micro to a battle but he never showed up. However, Gennai threatens to ban him from Codex for a month if he doesn't talk before a countdown is over. It is pure Catharsis Factor seeing Jet panic as the counter nears zero and finally confess where he tricked Micro into going.
  • Micro is able to spot several inconsistencies with Vademon's story, notices how Datamon isn't acting like himself, and how nothing seems normal to figure out he's trapped in a dream by Pillomon.
  • Though he only does so because he's in a dream and can't do it for real yet, MegaKabuterimon is able to Digivolve into his Mega Level, HerculesKabuterimon, to force Pillomon to free him and Micro.
  • As punishment for Vademon tampering with Micro's Digivice to escape the Digital World, which could have potentially killed Micro's real self, the Codex Commanders teleport him to "the most dangerous area of the Digital World".

"Gearing Up for War"

  • Magnadramon shows a lot more willingness to stand up for himself against MagnaAngemon's mistrust against him. When MagnaAngemon's accuses him of making a fool out of Azulongmon by leading them all to an area where there's nothing there of the Virus Army, only to be Instantly Proven Wrong by the Digidestined being chased out of a nearby cave by Troopmon's machines, Magnadramon smirks at him and says "Who's the fool now?"

  • Trixie reveals a new Mega Digimon she hasn't used in an actual until now. It is one of the Olympus XII, a group noted to be on the same level as the Royal Knights, Dianamon. This easily wins Trixie the match against Sunset, this also being the first time she's won a battle in Codex on-screen.
  • Trixie reveals that she accidentally unlocked her Dianamon scan when training against her Crusadermon deck in the Beta-Stadium. She forgot to include a Mega Level in the deck she was using but allowed her Digivolution to go through, and the result was Dianamon, with Twilight guessing that Dianamon must be Lunamon's natural Digivolution.
  • Sunset officially joins the main cast at the end, after Trixie and Flash both apologize to Coronamon for accidentally destroying his old home.

"In a Land Before Time"

  • The chapter begins with Flash in the middle of a Tag Battle, facing an unnamed girl with both of them battling along side their partners. By this point in the battle, Flash is KendoGarurumon and Veemon is BurningGreymon, while their opponents are BishopChessmon and RookChessmon. Later once the others have all been defeated, she gives him one last chance to just walk away and never attack the village again. When he refuses and continues attacking, she Digivolves to GreatHudiemon and destroys him to protect everyone. This even earns her Sunset's respect.
  • The chapter ends with the final Dragon Soul Stone appearing.

"Canyon Bombardment"

  • The final battle against WarGrowlmon's army for the last Dragon Soul Stone begins.
    • At first the Virus Army seems to have the upper hand thanks to their new Battle Gear that Datamon was forced to create for them. It is even said that if they had this during the first Dragon Soul Stone's appearance they probably would have won. But everyone has gotten a lot stronger since then and Digivolve to Ultimate, quickly reducing the Battle Gear to scrap metal.
    • In a villainous example, Armormon arrives and points out one flaw with the barrier the Dragon Soul Stone creates. It stops Mega Levels from getting in, but can't stop a new one from appearing within. With that, he Digivolves into his new Mega form he forced Datamon to create for him, Bombardramon.

"True Strength"

  • With everyone just trying to survive against Bombardramon, Flash and Veemon reach a new level of Heroic Resolve, and manage to Mega Digivolve from Paildramon to Imperialdramon. Thus, they become the first ever Codex Player to reach the Mega Level, even before Shining Armor.
  • Imperialdramon easily outspeeds Bombardramon, avoiding all his laser attacks, protects his friends when Bombardramon tries to take a cheap shot at them, and easily destroys him with his Positron Laser attack. Even Datamon is amazed since he built that Mega form to be almost indestructible, yet it was destroyed in one shot.
  • Imperialdramon rushes off to help Megadramon against WarGrowlmon.

"The Great Dragon War's Climax"

  • Despite Imperialdramon's help, the battle against WarGrowlmon still isn't easy, since he manages to delete MagnaAngemon and holds off Imperialdramon long enough for him to revert to Flash and DemiVeemon.
  • With no other choice with MagnaAngemon dead, Megadramon decides to use the Dragon Soul Stone himself so WarGrowlmon can't get it, planning to Mega Digivolve to Megidramon and hold off the evil in himself long enough for his friends to destroy him. As he begins to Digivolve though, he is confronted by a image of Megidramon, who taunts that he will become him and destroy everything. When Megadramon defies him, stating though he may become Megidramon, Megidramon will not become him, Megidramon grabs him by the neck in rage, slowly beginning to overwrite his data with his own. But when Megadramon hears his friends calling out to him, he remembers everything they taught him, how he decides who he is and what he becomes, and he breaks free of Megidramon's grasp, stating he will not become him. This is then followed by an image of Goldramon, with Megadramon choosing to become him instead, merging with it and causing Megidramon's image to be disintegrated.
    Megadramon: I...decide. I decide... who I am. I decide...what I become. AND I WILL NOT BECOME YOU!
  • Since WarGrowlmon failed to get the last stone, Fumamon abandons him on the battlefield to be destroyed, with Goldramon easily doing so.
  • Goldramon allows Flash to scan his Mega form to complete his collection of him.
  • The Royal Knights see Flash's scan of Imperialdramon for themselves. Though they are just as confused as the others of how different it is from the legend they know about the creator of the Royal Knights, Flash promises to let them know if he discovers anything new about it.
  • Shining Armor, impressed by Flash reaching the Mega Level and how far he has come, challenges him to a match in the Beta-Stadium in one week.

"Flash V Shining: Rematch Time"

  • As expected, all of Codex is excited for the match between Flash and Shining, with the entire place in a frenzy and the foyer packed to watch the battle. However, Codex isn't the only place watching, since the Codex Commanders turned up screens for Digimon in the Digital World to watch as well, with the Great Dragons, Leomon, and a few members of their army watching from their temple, and the Royal Knights watching from their throne room.
  • Flash has been training all week for this battle, not just in the Beta-Stadium but even in the Digital World too.
  • Shining Armor requests a special rule for this battle, that Flash be allowed the same number of Securities as him so they can fight on even footing, meaning they both start with 7.
  • Flash manages to do much better against Shining than in their first battle, including exposing a weakness in Cyberdramon. It initially seems like he tried to drown him in a river, only to let him go and then fire his lasers around him, drying his leather armor and causing him to become brittle, making him slower.
  • The chapter ends with Flash going Mega, now with both players using their most powerful Digimon: Imperialdramon, creator of the Royal Knights, and Justimon, Hero of Justice.
