"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe page was previously flagged for Five P review with the rationale: ' and the disposition was: horrible, but not porn'''
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI would like to suggest the following tropes for the main page, YMMV, and/or Trivia:
- Author Existence Failure (main page): Non-Lethal variant of this trope- Chris was arrested for Parental Incest on August 1st, 2021, and is more than likely to remain behind bars (and thus unable to continue the comic) for the foreseeable future, pushing the comic into indefinite hiatus.
- Artistic License – Economics (main page):
- CW Cville's Fictional Currency is known as the W-Quarter, which is divided into ten C-Quarters. Rather than being a slang term or synonym for "coin", a Quarter is a specific type of coin, worth 25 percent of the parent denomination (25 cents, in the case of the US Dollar).
- Artistic License – Politics (main page):
- CW Cville was ostensibly set in the United States (at least in the early issues), but is governed by an Ultimate Authority Mayor whose office is located in a shopping mall, and has its own Fictional Currency, suggesting CW Cville is actually a sovereign city-state under US Suzerainty.
- CW Cville's origin story depicts it as being founded by Chris's father and later given to Chris. The Mayoralty of CW Cville is apparently hereditary, held for life, and portrayed as a Frontline General of Sonichus and Rosechus with the political role being primarily Federative (delegating the actual governing to a secretary). Real-life Mayors are elected for fixed terms and don't have any martial authority; ironically, Chris's portrayal of the Mayor of CW Cville more closely resembles Medieval Nobility than an actual Mayoral role.
- Colbert Bump (YMMV/Trivia): Following Chris's leaked confession of Parental Incest to a Troll named Isabella Loretta Janke (which resulted in Chris's eviction and subsequent arrest), Chris began to trend on Twitter, even managing to out-Trend the concurrent Summer Olympics, bringing more attention to both creator and work.
- Creator Breakdown (YMMV/Trivia):
- After falling under the influence of the Idea Guys, Chris had another breakdown, stopping writing the comic and starting to believe in an apocalyptic Dimensional Merge.
- Fictional Currency (Main Page): CW Cville's currency is the W-Quarter, which is divisible into ten C-Quarters. A C-Quarter is worth the same as a US Quarter, and a W-Quarter is worth $2.50.
- Harsher in Hindsight (YMMV/Trivia): In the late 2000s, Chris made some Word of God statements expressing disgust at incest. On August 1st, 2021, Chris was arrested for Parental Incest, forcing indefinite hiatus on the comic.
- Ultimate Authority Mayor (Main Page): played with- Chris is portrayed as this in the comic, however the actual Mayoral duties are delegated to a secretary, the actual Mayor's office is currently occupied by insurgents, and Chris acts more like a Frontline General of Sonichus and Rosechus than an elected politician.
- Why the Fandom Can't Have Nice Things (YMMV/Trivia):
- Chris's arrest for Parental Incest put Sonichu on indefinite hiatus for the foreseeable future.
Lose the ones about Chris' personal life. We already ruled that there's not going to be any discussion about it on the forums or wiki.

Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.I don't know who is in charge of editing this page, as it is locked, but I want to say that you need to change Chris's pronouns to he/him. This is a man who raped his mother. He used his penis to rape his mother, who has advanced dementia. As a woman, I am personally revolted and deeply offended that you would give any amount of respect to this man.
@gaypossum: no, we don't. That wouldn't just be a deserved insult to Chris, it would be an entirely undeserved insult to every other trans person, who are largely not incestuous rapists, or even rapists at all.
If that's the point and you're arguing this as part of a personal axe to grind against trans people, then fuck off from this website entirely.
Agreed that this is not something that should be done per reasons given. Please do not make this a discussion about the person, though.
Edited by Piterpicher Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)While I do understand the policy of separating the art from the artist, it's damn near impossible for an average person to talk about the comic without talking about Christine in the process.
^^ WickedIcon is right. We should use her preferred pronouns, at least on this wiki.
Trans rights are human rights!I feel that if the spouse of Onision who is also a child-groomer gets the rights to pronouns, so does Chris, as screwed up the context behind her transition is. With her recent actions, Christine may have forfeited the right not to be mocked on this wiki. It's the same thing I saw with John K. If you want to talk about Sonichu, you can't ignore Christine's actions that the comic ties into.
Can we remove the "formerly Christian Weston Chandler" bit here? Deadnaming someone is pretty disrespectful and transphobic.
Hide / Show RepliesI personally think the pronoun change should be enough. While I understand that people may not like to deadname others, the amount of people who associate CWC as the Love Quest rage-video man or feel nostalgic towards that version is too large, they're effectively two different people with two different fandoms by this point. The CWCki, possibly the biggest compendium on CWC, uses exclusively male pronouns. Really, changing pronouns pretty much everywhere but keeping the few mentions that person used to be a man should be a reasonable compromise.
Removed a link to which is considered a troll forum by some. I think I could have worded this better, plus there's one argument I have not thought about - CWC has actually been a character in the comic and was male in the first few chapters. Not mentioning that she used to be male may be confusing. Otherwise, this is not intended to lead to discussion about the person.
Edited by Piterpicher Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)From the link: "However, Chris is not a woman, and he never will be. Chris was born a man. He carries male genetics."
This reasoning is explicitly transphobic and misgendering. The deadname isn't necessary.
Edited by Palindromee Trope-tan is here! ➯ my pronouns are ze/hirJust so it's clear, the Creator Page Guidelines page now states "If a creator was active under their previous identity, it's acceptable to mention this openly ONCE at the top of the creator page, e.g "Elliot Page (formerly credited as Ellen Page; born February 21, 1987)". Admittedly Christine herself does not (and won't) have a creator page, but it is allowed on work page and was clearly active under previous identity (Issues 0-10 and part of 11 as far as I remember). Also I agree that the previous reasoning does sound transphobic and the CWCki does now acknowledge if someone uses a different identity, including Christine, and she did make voiceclips for a mod that lets you play as her previous identity in Sonic World) so she can acknowledge it for what it's worth.
Edited by Piterpicher Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Should Chris-Chan have his own page? He's done enough crazy things outside of the comic. There's an entire wiki dedicated to his fail, after all.
One cleanup thread later... Hide / Show RepliesI think that's only going to be a magnet for trouble that will inevitably get locked when things get too personal.
He did at one point, but it's gone. It used to be on the Cwcki, but they got rid of it too. I can't find it anywhere, so it seems to be lost to the ages, unfortunately.
I don't get paid enough to do this shit.A copy of the old TV Tropes page, pre-moderator crackdown, exists here — https://sonichu.com/cwcki/User:Canine/TV_Tropes (after clicking the link, be sure to get rid of the apostrophes, the backslash, and the TV Tropes redirect to properly view the page) — and it's a clear demonstration as to why a page dedicated to Christine wouldn't work in this era of the website. The page quickly devolved into a series of attacks against the creator and troping her personal life, neither of which are in-line with TV Tropes policy.
Furthermore, the Creator pages are reserved for people with multiple works, and Sonichu is really the only actual work that Chris is known for. Everything else is tied to her shenanigans with videos and other online interactions, which, again, doesn't fly. I think there are some Sonichu-related entries in that iteration of the page that can and should be reinstated, but locking and cutting most of the content from the page was the right call.
Edited by KingClarkWhat’s the difference between the Webcomic and Sandbox page? Just the pronoun change?
Can somebody with authority add;
- Landfill Beyond the Stars: CW Cville authorities regularlywork with NASA to dump contraband, such as tobacco and marijuana on the moon.
Would like to add that Chris Chan thinks the government should do this in real life but maybe that's too trolly.
So...ugh. I don't usually come here, and I REALLY don't have much investment in any of the following around Sonichu, but given Chandler has come out as trans (I think? The reports are confused, but consistent in new gender presentation), should we update pronouns?
Hide / Show RepliesI concur, I mean she's got a Twitter account that pretty much states she's trans.
With issue 11 complete and 12 in progress, I think the page needs to be updated with tropes from the recently released pages.
Hide / Show RepliesI think you might need to message a mod directly - edits are so few and far between that I doubt anyone is paying attention to this talk page anymore.
Is this really an example of this trope? Contractual Immortality is a trope about actors.
- Contractual Immortality: All the protagonists, with the sole except of Simonla due to a copyright issue.
Chris revealed at some point that the characters are supposed to Animated Actors. If that still counts, I don't know.

Edited by Zelot I am a quality contributor. Can we get rid of that "we get too much negativity and edit warring for this work, so it is locked" message? An addition for Mood Whiplash: There's a short series of comics where Sonichu's family dies in a fire. Rosechu rather pitifully asphyxiates among the smoke. The next panel is "Merry Christmas from the Sonichu Family!"

lol i not kno how to astronautHow come there isn't a trope page for Chris-Chan himself?Considering his internet infamy,I'd expect there to be.Is it because of the same reason that this page was locked?I hope not
The page would be a swarm of fan hate. We strive for neutrality, and putting a trope page for Chris would fill the wiki with hate.
There was one of Chris Chan. It got deleted because of all the negativity.
Though it's a shame since a lot of tropes apply to Chris-Chan, I'd have to agree that it would rile up everybody.
I wonder if the CW Cki guys could take over the development of that page (they've already imported the data, why not just host all the hate there?).
This ties into a minor issue I have with the direction the wiki seems to be headed. Why not just create some pages like one for CWC, slap a disclaimer on them, and let editors/trolls run amok?
Hopefully I'll feel confident to change my avatar off this scumbag soon. Apologies to any scumbags I insulted.Does your local library or bookstore have a special section for people to gripe and whine about how they don't like Twilight?
Poor comparison. A library or bookstore would have to make physical space for, it whereas we don't, we can just put up a page. There could be valid counterarguments, but that's not one.
Hopefully I'll feel confident to change my avatar off this scumbag soon. Apologies to any scumbags I insulted. It's not about space. It's about what this site is for. The site is not for whining and complaining any more than a library is.
Granted, TV Tropes has a section about bashing things, but it's stuck off to the side and there's a fair amount of the userbase who think it should just be axed anyway.
My argument is simply than Chris-Chan has shown himself, many times, to be unworthy of respect. To go to the Twilight example, Stephanie Meyer hasn't done anything near the levels of despicability(my spell check doesn't think that's a word) that Chris-Chan has.
... on a somewhat lighter note, what exactly are you referring to? Darth Wiki?
Hopefully I'll feel confident to change my avatar off this scumbag soon. Apologies to any scumbags I insulted.Shared Universe: Attempted with Asperchu. CWC gives the Alternate Character Interpretation that the Asperchu parodies are just Animated Actor slaves who were given the same names as his own characters, but they do live in the same world. Averted due to later events in Asperchu, which show that the two cannons are quite separate indeed.
I'm not sure about this because Chris-Chan suggested in recorded phone conversations that all cartoons share the same universe.
I have a suggestion for the YMMV page:
- What Do You Mean, It's for Kids?: Played horribly straight, for it contains, among other things, bloody violence, sex, and Unfortunate Implications regarding gays. Yet the author recommends this webcomic to children.
Just felt that it would help a little. If you are capable of putting this up, could you please do so? I certainly think that, regardless of one's opinion of this work as a whole, this particular bit qualifies.
Edited by SamMax Hide / Show RepliesThe place to ask is here, Mate. But "Played horribly straight, for" is worthless Word Cruft.

Something that just struck me... there's no link to the actual comic. I mean, all other webcomics article I've seen had one, even those that acquired a lot of hatedom. I first figured it was to prevent trolling... but then again, I don't really see how just linking to the comic would allow anyone to troll CWC.

I've just realize that there now IS a link to the comic, so big thanks to whoever put it up! Finding the damned thing could prove surprisingly difficult even via google.
Has Chris visited this site(and in particular, this page)? I'd love to see his reaction
Hide / Show RepliesConsidering that even when this page was a lot more negative that Chris never ever mentioned it, I seriously doubt he has heard of TV Tropes. Bearing in mind what might be in store for him in the near future, it's highly unlikely we ever will see him on here.
"Assimilate This!"Not sure if this is relevant, but apparently Chris-Chan went/is going to jail. The source is ED, but the story sounds fairly believable.

For those who don't know, a little over a month after the death of his father in September 2011, Chris and his mother went to a game/hobby store he had been banned from in 2008 (for the usual stuff, like making a massive ruckus and screaming at children). He claimed that because the store had apparently changed owners and names, it was under new management and he would be welcomed back in. Lo and behold, the manager who banned him (who he had nearly run over in 2010) was now the owner.
Obviously he got kicked out, but made another fuss. Screaming, taking pictures of the store and the owner, all that stuff. The owner (Michael Snyder) called the cops and followed him and his mother out to their vehicle to watch them; he had called the police on them before, but they either fled or were only given a warning. In their effort to escape, Chris and his mother hit Snyder and severely injured his knee. The police arrived and the pair were arrested after a short scuffle.
Both Chris and his mother are set to appear in front of a circuit court judge in July; the misdemeanors have been deemed nollo prosequi (meaning that they won't be charged with them at the moment, but can still have it brought against them before the statute of limitations runs out), in favor of focusing on felonies. Both are on trial for the hit-and-run, while his mother also faces felony assault on a law enforcement officer.
Oh hai TV TropesShould there be an YMMV tab for Sonichu? It's used for My Immortal (which is also locked) and would allow others to add their "opinions" of the comic (essentially, putting in the stuff that was lifted during the locking).
Hide / Show RepliesYep. Frankly I think they should just delete the pages if they're going to lock them and never change them when someone suggest an edit.

Hide / Show RepliesSonichu isn't internet famous. CWC's life saga is. Sonichu is an accessory to the story of Chris-Chan, and there are several things in it that wont make sense unless you know the IRL backstory.
What I'm saying is that if there isn't going to be a general Chris-Chan page, there shouldn't be a Sonichu page.

I'm suprised I've seen no-one make a Revenge Fic on Sonichu, and Chris-Chan in particular.I can imagine one where it turns out all the characters have suffered Mind Rape, and they realise this-leading to an epic Rage Against the Author and a long overdue Laser-Guided Karma to Chris.
Hide / Show RepliesMost of the 'fanfics' are this. People are fascinated by his unintentional Crapsaccharine World and love to deconstruct it. In fact many trolls created such things and showed them to Chris to get lulz out of him. A Girl Who Brought Down The World is another example, apparently in this case to try and make him realise how wrong-headed his thinking is.
Could I have a list? And are there any versions that violate No Celebrities Were Harmed (because frankly,no-one would care if Chris-Chan was mentioned, name and all.)
If I were to write one,I'd make it where CW Cville is an Eldritch Abomination, the living embodiment of Chris-Chan's mind.It would be a Multiversal Conqueror that plans to give Chris his Wish Fufillment-being a literal god-mode sue.It starts by merging the Pokemon and Sonic universes into itself, and there's a bunch of rebels trying to fight off the Mind Rape
Is there somebody trying to get CWC's works on every SBIH page?
nine nine nine? nine nine nine? Hide / Show RepliesSonichu is already listed on the Webcomics section of So Bad Its Horrible.
I put it back up. I'm sorry, I'm not trying to bash him or anything. It's just that I felt he had works which qualified for the trope. There's others that haven't been accounted for, I'm not trying to portray he himself as incapable of producing anything with qualities remotely intrinsic to goodness or anything, it's just that I believe them to be suitable for that application.

DISREGARD THIS SIGNATURE Hide / Show RepliesThey locked the page due to excessive negativity and edit warring, so none of the regular Tropers can edit this page anymore.
My only real issue with the article as it is now is that it doesn't outright say that the series is So Bad Its Horrible, so there's a risk that somebody looking for webcomics to read will click on the link.
Currently taking a break from the site. See my user page for more information. Hide / Show RepliesI would say just as planned if I had intentionally subdued any major form of criticism twoards the comic. Yo, Ethereal Mutation. Great work, but as for you changing the LEGO Genetics trope to accomodate current medical science to give further insight to the subject; Rather than pretend that I have any great knowledge on the connection between homosexuality and genetics, I would like you look over the page where Chris showcases his fictional "gay gene" and tell me your assessment of just what exactly he's gotten wrong and what tropes these mistakes apply to so I can accommodate for that in the article.
[1]◊
Edited by Raidouthe21st We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM) Hide / Show RepliesYep, that whole thing is pretty much just pulled out of his ass. Ways he fails science:
- There are positive results in the search for a homosexual gene dating back to at least the late nineties (at least for other animals). It's not as though it's still some giant mystery to be unraveled.
- Genes consist of a lot more than a single molecule. Even if one interprets his statement to just refer to the DNA/RNA molecule differentiating the dominant/recessive, the most simplistic genes need a variation of at least a couple molecules to express a different trait. With homosexuality being a major realignment of one's instincts and brain chemistry (along with the fact that practically every bit of sex research shows most people to be rather ambiguous and simply just favor one side of the equation over the other... or neither), it's almost certainly controlled by dozens (if not hundreds) of genes.
- Scientific research does not work nearly fast enough to synthesize a viable vaccine from brand new material in a week. Most certainly, creating enough of the vaccine to spread in the entire world's water supply would take far, far, far longer than a month (try... 50 years minimum provided they have unlimited resources and nothing unforeseen happens). Also, vaccines cannot be made waterbourne (they're specifically based around a precise measurement).
- Vaccine is the wrong word for what he's proposing. Vaccines prevent infection, but do nothing if one is already infected. The word he's looking for is probably "antibody". This is far from a misconception limited to dopes, however; movies and video games (such as the Syphon Filter series) make this mistake all the time.
- Genes cannot be modified by any pharmaceutical. Even genetic engineering is a minimum of a hundred years away from achieving a full reform of a person's structure. (Die Another Day makes this mistake as well, so again, not limited to dopes.)
- Even if one changed a person's genetic make-up to remove all "homosexual genes", there's still the fact that those past puberty will still be imprinted with a preference for their same gender. Body chemistry (i.e. hormones) is just as important to biology as genetics. Or, another way to think of it: somebody wants to add a water slide to an apartment building. Would they get very far if they just walked into the public records building and drew a water slide on the official blueprints?
- All-caps Comic Sans (or Comic Sans knockoff, I think) makes my eyes hurt.
Let me finish that sentence for you.
Uh, Penguin 4 Senate, why did you revert the page back to the original? Current version seemed perfectly fine to me.
Edited by Raidouthe21st We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)We're missing Word of God.

Chris included a line in Sonichu #2 that goes; "But during the stone age...". And that's it. There wasn't even a punchline until he narrated the panel in the Sonichu 2 Official Videobook as "You don't have to tell ME twice! Return to stone age? Boy you really need to tell those cavemen twice." Would that count as Word of God?
- Found another one. Apparently, Alec did not rape those Rosechus. They were just being kept as hampsters. Also a case of Real Life Writes the Plot, as it was added literally at the last minute due to the real Alec complaining about the insinuation.

Edited by Raidouthe21st We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Okay, first final version up. Critique it well. If you wanna add any tropes, say what you're gonna add and why to make it easier. If you wanna change something, ask for it first. We need to make this list to accommodate the new "standards". It ain't about Chris, it's about his comic. Limit any mention of the real Chris to things that only pertain to his comic.
God, this thing took me longer than it needed to. I really hope this works as an article, otherwise I'll lose my mind.
Edited by Raidouthe21st We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM) Hide / Show RepliesSo, Fast Eddie replied back to me. His response?
"The first four or five were all 'Chris this, Chris that,' so I stopped reading. I suppose we could have items that don't mention the author at all. "
I have no idea what that means exactly, or how this bodes for the future of this article and TV Tropes as a whole. I'll just assume for now it means "Needs a few things fixed up before I give it the okay." Just gonna throw it out there to inform you guys, to see if someone wants to clarify what exactly he meant, or if they have any thoughts at all on this.
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Never mind. Apparently, he wants every mention of Chris gone. Even the ones that pertain to his fictional counterpart because people aren't bright enough to realize the difference between the fictional Chris and the real one. Groan...
Well, I'll go for it, I guess. But this article's gonna be very schizophrenic and not as informative...Now I'm reduced to using emoticons to express my mental anguish at this new arm-twist. DX
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Surely there must be a misunderstanding. How can you not mention one of the most active (the most active?) character in the comic?
And that's how I ended up in the wardrobe. It Just Bugs Me!I dunno. He said that it was obvious, but I still don't know what he means exactly by that. I'm operating under the premise that he wants information of the IRL CWC gone. So, I'm trying my best to accommodate that.
Oh, to answer your question;
reason: Does that count as a pun? Anyhow, not an ILP unless shown as so in the comic.
"The Big Bad is named Count Graduon, who is a living, breathing manifestation of the creators bad memories of his high school GRAD Uati ON."
It's completely fine that you removed the pothole to Incredibly Lame Pun on the grounds Chris never gave an official statement about it, though.
Edited by Raidouthe21st We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)It looks pretty good, so far? Is there any way I can assist with the neutralization of this article draft?
Experience has taught me to investigate anything that glows. Hide / Show RepliesAside from keeping in mind the whole "Treat IRL Chris as He Who Must Not Be Named" thing going on, I cannot think of any particular bits. For now, if there's a trope you want to add, or a current example you think is delving too deeply into Chris's life, or trying to outright insult Chris for no valid reason, then let me know and I'll discuss/fix it.
We Are Our Avatars Forever (Now on Discord by invitation, PM)Isn't kind of counter intuitive to remove references to Real Life chris when his real life drives almost the entire comic? I'm just curious as to how we can reference the whole picture when we cut out the main source of story for the comics. The stories just make absolutely no sense without a grasp of what Chris is like IRL. Without seeing the background for it, the comic is just some crappy webcomic. The thing that pushes this shitty comic into full It's so Bad it's cancerous mode is the creator himself.
Edited by Foxtrotpenguin I have a top hat. Your Argument is invalid. Hide / Show RepliesApparently, any mention of the Real Life CWC is far too charged a topic for this place. Sad, I know, but I'm not gonna whine about it. The best I figured I can do so far is talk about Christian Weston Chandler the comic book character. Things like Life Embellished and Real Life Writes the Plot do kinda get the point across of what exactly drives the story. Aside from one single link to the CW Cki, I dunno if we can mention the real life CWC any further than I already have.
Thanks for your input, however. It's kinda refreshing to see somebody actually try and help another living being on the internet for once.
