Tropers: Pulpo Oscuro

Pulpo Oscuro is a troper of high school age who lives in the Deep South, which he moved to unwillingly a few years ago. His name is Gratuitous Spanish for "dark octopus", which has no meaning in particular. His writing interests tend towards speculative fiction, though he has tried other genres with mixed success.

His interests include Call of Duty, writing short fiction, the Honor Harrington novels, cross-country running, the SCP Foundation, and amateurish drawings. He also has something of an interest in military matters and the possibility of intelligent life on other planets.

He lies on the cynical side of the Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism; in his own words, he "believes the world is bad, but it can and should become better." He is also a Fake Brit; being born in Britain but having spent the majority of his life in America. (His parents are Australian.)

He is responsible for the creation of various short stories, including some historical fiction about Colonial Australia.

Sliding Scale of Idealism Versus Cynicism: Has ricocheted up and down across the scale for years.
Sophisticated as Hell: Can lapse into it occasionally, particularly in conversation topics. For example, he once wasted half his lunch period sitting outside and profanely ranting to his friends about his cafeteria's food's quality, and the cafeteria's reasons for overpricing it.

Too Much Information/Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant: When he gets too carried away with comparisons or discussions, he can lapse into the graphically sexual or downright nightmarish without really being aware... for example, saying Minot AFB would be a great place to live because, in the event of nuclear war, one would be instantly vaporized rather than slowly poisoned.
