Characters from Legendz Anime

    The Children/The Sagas

Shuuzou "Shu" Matsutani

Voiced By: Akemi Okamura

The main protagonist of the series, Shiron The Windragon's owner, and the Wind Saga. Shu is about as much of an Idiot Hero you can expect, but he actually cares for his friends despite his behavior and general obliviousness, and he, to his fellow friends and Legendz, is the lynchpin that holds them all together.

  • Beware the Silly Ones: Shu is a ditzy Idiot Hero 90% of the time, but he shows a surprising amount of awareness at more than one point, especially when someone dares to try hurting his mother.
  • Berserk Button: As detailed above, hurting his mother is one of the very few things to set him off.
  • Book Dumb: Does pretty horribly in academics, and is bad at sports as well, despite claiming that he is great at baseball.
  • Casanova Wannabe: Shu likes to pretend that he is more popular than he actually is, and loves to flirt with pretty women (even ones older than his age), and he annoys the hell out of Meg due to it pretty often.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Except Mac and to a lesser extent Zuou— who seems to be the only people to understand him, nobody knows what the boy's deal is. Shu is more than often oblivious to the situations he is in, even during dire times.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: Sanguine.
  • The Heart: Whether his fellow Legendz Club members want to admit it or not due to his Idiot Hero disposition, Shu is the lynchpin that holds the group together. Things tend to get really awry whenever he is gone, and the usually lively mood becomes darker thanks to his absence.
  • Heroic BSoD: Has a massive one when his mother becomes a casualty in the upcoming Legendz War. Needless to say, due to his role as The Heart, this sets a chain of events that makes everything gone From Bad to Worse.
  • Idiot Hero: One of his defining characteristics. Then it's partially justified because he is only like… 10 years old at best.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Implied. Since he is constantly ignoring the situations regarding Legendz and even tries to get them into doing daily hobbies (which they see as stupid) instead of focusing on their duty to fight, it is strongly suggested that Shu just wants to have a normal life with them. This led him into clashing strongly with Garion.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: When you get over his Idiot Hero attitude, occasional rudeness and obliviousness, Shu is actually a pretty laid-back, decent and honest guy, and cares very much about his friends and family.
  • The Nicknamer: Does it very often. With the exception of Meg and Mac, Shu calls almost all of his peers by his nicknames rather than their real ones. Dino in particular was never called by his real name, instead by 'snob'.
  • Smarter Than You Look: He actually shows more awareness towards the situation more than he lets on. His Idiot Hero and brash attitude just clouds it pretty often.
    • Particularly this line of his in Episode 34 when Garion discusses about the Legendz War:
Shu: (Points to Garion's drawing) For example, the dot in this drawing should only be drawn once. Even an idiot like me knows that it is wrong! (Rambles indiscriminately until he passes out from it)
    • He tries to stop Shiron from fighting in the Legendz War, because nothing good can come out of it, showing that he is aware that the Legendz War may very well destroy the world.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: The shortest of his fellow sagas, but owns one of the strongest Legendz and is able to manipulate wind on his own.
  • Token Minority: Rare Japanese example in anime, where token minorities are usually American. He is the only Japanese amongst the Sagas, while his friends are all American.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With almost everyone in the Legendz Club except for Mac and Zuou— but in particular Dino and Garion, the former being his Foil after all, and the latter being annoyed by his antics.

Meg Sprinkle

Voiced By: Megumi Nasu

One of Shu's best friends. She is later revealed to be the Water Saga, as well as the owner of Zuou The Bigfoot. Meg is pretty much your run-in-the-mill Tsundere childhood friend. She begins thinking high of Legendz, but thanks to the incident with Garion, she begins to hate them and tries to keep them away (Shiron being the only exception). Much of her character arc revolves on her trying to get over this fear and hate.

  • Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: Often has to snap Shu out of his obliviousness, often by landing a 'Meg Chop' on him.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Doesn't like it whenever Shu flirts with other women, especially when he flirts with Anna The Harpy. Hilariously enough, she herself betrays her own behavior at one point (see Hypocritical Humor below).
  • Defrosting Ice Queen: Meg starts off having a high opinion of Legendz, but after the incident with the Griffin, she believes they are dangerous, and Zuou's insistence to stay at her side only gives her more discomfort. She eventually overcomes her fear in Episode 28 after Zuou saves her life.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: Choleric.
  • Humanizing Tears: She has two, in Episode 47 and 50, when Zuou was returned into his mindless state in the former, and disappears in the latter. It's clear that she has grown to care about him very much and that she regrets being mean to him and didn't get to do many things with him even after they became friends.
  • Hypocritical Humor: After being shown to be extremely jealous whenever Shu flirts with other women, she herself fangirls at Dino when he debuts in Episode 7. Neither Shu nor Dino cares about all of this, though…
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: Meg doesn't want to be the Water Saga and thinks Legendz are nothing but trouble. She gets better later on.
  • It Sucks to Be the Chosen One: Her outlook on being the Water Saga is less than positive due to her irrational fear of Legendz. She gets over this later on.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: She can get rather rude and feisty— especially towards Shu and Zuou, but she clearly cares for her friends and is a Nice Girl otherwise.
  • Iconic Item: Is almost never seen without her camera, and brings it in her pocket all the time.
  • Refusal of the Call: The Water Talispod first manifests from the East River. Meg's response? She absolutely rejects it by slapping it away.
  • Tsundere: Type A, usually towards Shu. She often behaves rude towards him and landing a Meg Chop on him whenever he does something stupid, but clearly cares for him and still sees him as her friend.

Mike "Mac" McField

Voiced By: Masami Suzuki

Shu's best friend and arguably the only friend who has been openly nice to him all the time. Mac is eventually revealed to be the Earth Saga, as well as Garion the Griffin's owner. He is one of the nicest members in the cast, and is shown to be able to befriend people with ease.

  • Beware the Nice Ones: Mac might be a Nice Guy, but he also has his bad side whenever his hamburger gets soiled to the point it becomes inedible.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: Phlegmatic.
  • Hulking Out: Whenever someone manages to soil his hamburger.
  • Minor Living Alone: Could count as one. Both of his parents live in Grand Canyon, while he is shown to live and attend school in New York.
  • Morality Pet: Towards Dino and Garion. He often comforts the former whenever he is feeling lonely due to his issues, and the latter whenever she becomes frustrated with Shu and Shiron's antics.
  • Nice Guy: Mac is a freaking treasure. He is almost never seen angry or resentful— which is the reason why he was able to get along with almost all of his fellow friends. Because of this, he is the only one to be able to withstand Shu's obliviousness, and is instead more weirded out at Meg for slapping him to often. Mac also tries to cheer Garion up by showing the better aspects of nature.
  • Only Friend: Mac can count as one to Shu. He is the only one who regularly supports his antics, and rarely ever gets put off by his Idiot Hero attitude.
  • Out of Focus: Gets the least amount of spotlight alongside the human cast. Unlike his friends, he doesn't have a character arc going on, and most of the deal of his transformation to a Legendz is more vital to Garion's development.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Hamburgers. His name alone probably tells you how much he loves it.
  • Trauma-Induced Amnesia: He doesn't remember a thing whenever he detransforms from his Garion form, probably induced by the pain the transformation caused.

Dino Sparks

Voiced By: Omi Minami

The Fire Saga and Greedo The Blazedragon's owner. Dino is the son of the rich Sparks family, who owns a toy company. Dino used to live in a pretty sheltered life before meeting Greedo and getting involved in the whole Legendz deal. Much of his character arc revolves around his struggle to have friends, and him opening up to people around him.

  • The Ace: Competent at both academics and sports, admired by many girls, incredibly rich and also very handsome to boot.
  • Celibate Hero: Despite receiving admiration from many girls, he cares little about it and just wants true love from his parents and true friends.
  • Character Development: Starts off as a Lonely Rich Kid who rarely opens up to others. He loses these traits as the show goes on, and becomes friendlier more open to his friends.
  • Foil: Dino is just about everything Shu is not. Shu is an Idiot Hero who is extremely oblivious to what happens around him but has good relationships with both his friends and family, while Dino is academically advanced, and shows well-awareness towards situations, but suffers Friendless Background, and his relationships with his parents are best described as strained.
  • Four-Temperament Ensemble: Melancholic.
  • Friendless Background: Dino doesn't have many friends, which is why he cares very much for Greedo, since Greedo is probably the first person to show care towards him, and he is shown to be jealous of Shu, because in spite of his attitude and lousy grades, he has pretty much tons of friends.
  • In-Series Nickname: "Snob" from Shu, doubling as Malicious Misnaming. Shiron and Meg also calls him this at a point.
  • Insistent Terminology: "My name is Dino!", in line with the above trope.
  • Missing Mom: Dino's mother Melissa left their household due to Bruno's poor parenting skills and lack of care towards their home life. She comes back, but her appearance is… Needless to say, not what Dino had in mind.
  • Misunderstood Loner with a Heart of Gold: Dino is usually aloof, composed and doesn't seem to show any care for the admiration his fans had for him, but inside, he is very lonely, and his greatest wish is to have friends, and is actually a pretty decent guy once you get to know him.
  • Only Sane Man: Often this to the other sagas.
  • Parental Abandonment: His father is too busy working to care about him, and his mother left exactly due to this reason. They get better later.
  • The Smart Guy: Shows more degree of awareness towards the situations around him more than his fellow Sagas, especially Shu.
  • Wacky Parent, Serious Child: After Dino and Bruno's relationships were fixed, this is pretty much their dynamic. They could not get more different than each other, and Dino is often annoyed by his father's antics.

    The Four Great Legendz

Shiron The Windragon

Voiced By: Kazuhiko Inoue

Shu's Legendz and the deuteragonist of the series. He comes from the Windragon clan, and does not remember his past or how he came to be. Shiron is a pretty laid-back guy, and is a bit ignorant and rude. Despite this, he cares and always tries to give his best to protect his fellow friends and Legendz, and especially cares for his Saga Shu. He also defies the fact that Legendz are born to fight and always longs for a normal life.

Later, it's revealed that Shiron and Ranshiin are the two halves of the same Legendz— Conoledo Windragon, who vanished after the last Legendz War and split into half. Part of the reason why he does not remember his past is because Ranshiin is the embodiment of the Conoledo Windragon's memories, while Shiron is his physical form.

  • Angst Nuke: When Shu drowns into a massive Heroic BSoD when his mom becomes Taken for Granite in Episode 40, Shiron flies into a massive rage himself, and triggers a huge wind that blows throughout the whole planet, returning all Legendz in the world into their wild and mindless state.
  • Armored Dragons: Shiron's Commando Windragon & Conoledo Windragon forms have him wearing armor, with the latter being covered from head to toe in the armor.
  • Badass Cape: Wears a long cape in his Conoledo Windragon form, which only adds the cool factor to it.
  • Berserk Button: Hurting the sagas is one of the few things to set Shiron off. He is very protective of them, and will do anything to protect them. In fact, when he sees Shu hurt, it's the thing that makes him so angry that he triggers a strong wind that makes everything go From Bad to Worse.
  • Blow You Away: Shiron is a wind Legendz, after all. Taken into an extreme in a lethal way when he releases the wind, called "Windragon's cry" by Garion, that turns all the Legendz into mindless monsters.
  • Chick/Dude Magnet: Many characters are attracted to him— be it Halca, Meg's mouse counterpart, and Dandy.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Always on the receiving end whenever he fights against Ranshiin. He manages to completely turn the table upon gaining his Command Windragon form.
  • Goggles Do Nothing: Has a goggle in addition to his flight cap. He rarely uses it, except in Episode 50 here he uses it to escape from Jabberwock's insides.
  • Heroic BSoD: Gets one during Shu's own Heroic BSoD. Shiron finds it so shocking to see him cry that he goes Angst Nuke not so long after.
  • Interspecies Romance: With Halca, who is heavily fascinated by him. Shiron himself reciprocates her feelings and calls her a "cute girl". They go out on a happy date in Episode 15. This begins to fluctuate when Shiron fails to keep the children out of all the Legendz' mischief, and when Halca begins to despise Legendz because of it. They get better, though…
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Shiron sometimes comes off as rude and stand-offish to his peers, especially Shu. He still cares for them and will do his best to help them, and is a pretty laid-back guy otherwise.
  • Laser-Guided Amnesia: He can't remember a bit of his past and is very bothered by it. It turns out that it was caused by him being merely the physical embodiment of the Conoledo Windragon, thus not having the memory, that is instead owned by Ranshiin.
  • Lazy Bum: Like Saga, like Legendz. Shiron spends most of his time sleeping in his lesser form, and he would rather slack off rather than minding about the upcoming Legendz War, which frustrates Garion to no end.
  • Mirror Character: They could not get any more different in the surface, but Shu and Shiron are actually more similar than they are shown to be— both longed for a normal life that has nothing to do with the Legendz' duty to fight, and shared the same laid-back attitude.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Has this moment when he was shown Halca's dead body in the giant Talispod during his time in the Light Legendz' realm, and regrets what he did. Thank god the Light Legendz has a Reset Button.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: His lesser form, which resembles a mouse (hence Shu's nickname "Nezuccho"). He freaks Halca out whenever he is in this form.
  • Signature Headgear: His flight cap. There is even an episode centered on it.
  • The Unintelligible: In his mouse form, he can only speak "ga ga ga ga ga". This causes problems with Shu as he can't understand what he is saying.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: With Shu. They argue often and Shiron very rarely calls Shu by his name, but they still get along well and even share several similarities.
  • Wind from Beneath My Wings: Wing Tornado, his main technique.
  • You Can't Fight Fate: Defies it, as shown in Episode 34. He presses to Garion that they only need a moment to show that they can change from the fate they are destined to follow.

Zuou The Bigfoot

Voiced By: Ayaka Saitou

Meg's Legendz, and the great water Legendz. He first debuts in Episode 13, appearing from a nearby pond after Meg gets accidentally kicked by Garion. Zuou is young, naive and is pretty much unaware of the things concerning Legendz, but cares about Meg and her friends, and will go to any lengths to protect them.

  • An Ice Person: Despite being a water Legendz, a majority of his powers are this.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: One of his special moves in his Command Bigfoot form, Sasquatch Slam involves him creating a giant snowman, which he weaponizes to slam on his enemy.
  • Character Development: At first, Zuou does not want to fight— he only wants to protect. He later learns that he needs to fight to protect everyone he loves in Episode 32, leading to his victory against Yeti.
  • Children Are Innocent: The youngest of the Legendz, and is unaware of the general conflict involving Legendz.
  • Cool Helmet: Wears one in his Command Bigfoot form— a helmet with viking-like motif.
  • Gentle Giant: One of the nicest Legendz in the series, and because of this, he gets popular with Shu's baseball team more than Shu himself ever was.
  • Kindhearted Simpleton: Zuou speaks in a childlike manner, and is one of the least knowledgeable members by a large margin. However, he is also one of the nicest Legendz in the series and is rarely seen angry.
  • Martial Pacifist: He values protecting more than fighting. This causes problems in Episode 32 where his belief made him unable to defeat Yeti. He gets over this problem pretty quickly.
  • Nice Guy: His Gentle Giant attitude aside, Zuou is only Legendz Club member outside Mac to not complain about Shu's antics, mostly due to how childlike he is and can synchronize with Shu because of it. He also tolerates Meg's attitude in spite of her hate towards him, and keeps on trying to become friends with her.
  • Out of Focus: Out of the main Four Great Legendz, Zuou gets the least focus as his character arc ends pretty quickly.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Meg. She keeps yelling at him to go away and constantly keeps him at arm's length, but Zuou still cares very much about her insists to protect her.
  • The Worf Effect: Sasquatch Slam works for a grand total of once, and that's during the battle against Yeti— the first time Zuou uses his Command Bigfoot form. His other attempts to use it after this have been unsuccessful, with the technique getting cut into pieces by stronger enemies.

Garion The Griffin

Voiced By: Mika Doi

The great Earth Legendz, as well as Mac's Legendz. Garion first appears when Mac transforms into her, and it was revealed that she was in fact, at first sealed in her Saga's body before Mac gains his talispod in Episode 26. She is the oldest Legendz in the group, and has a great amount of knowledge regarding Legendz and their history. She is wise and powerful, and has a belief that Legendz can't avoid their fate to fight in the upcoming Legendz War.

  • The Berserker: In both Episode 18 and 26, she keeps raging all over during her appearance. Thankfully in the latter, she gets better.
  • Character Development: Begins believing that Legendz could not avoid their destiny to fight each other in the Legendz War. After meeting Shiron and seeing the determination of the Sagas however, Garion ditches this outlook and tries to change their destiny by trying to stop Ranshiin in Conoledo Windragon form from starting the Legendz War.
  • Cool Big Sis: She is the oldest in the Legendz Club, and is called "sis" by Leon and Wolfy. Also doubles as Cool Old Lady as she is about thousands-year old.
  • Cool Helmet: Has one in her Command Griffin form.
  • The Cynic: Garion has a very warped view of humans and believes that everyone can't fight their destined fate, which causes disputes with the Sagas and her fellow Legendz. She changes this outlook later on, thanks to being with the Sagas and meeting Shiron.
  • Cynicism Catalyst: She is one to both Meg and Halca. They both begin hating Legendz after seeing Mac transform into Garion, realizing the true horrors of Legendz— although the two ladies eventually get over this.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: As an Earth Legendz, this is her main power. She can change elements she uses to her advantage (see Super Power Lottery below).
  • History Repeats: Regarding the Legendz War, she is a firm believer in this, believing that the same history will repeat again. Thanks to her Character Development however, she completely re-evaluates this outlook.
    • Once defies this in Episode 33, when she revolves to not let herself repeat the same mistake when she fights Vampire.
  • Holding Back the Phlebotinum: Her Command Griffin form was introduced pretty late— it only appears in the final arc. Not that she needs to use this form that often because she is already powerful in her original form alone thanks to her Elemental Change powers.
  • Ms. Exposition: Primarily provides the exposition for the main characters due to her vast knowledge, something which Shiron and Greedo comment on.
Shiron: Hey, you always talk too long. Can you make it shorter?
Greedo: Since the past, Garion has always been talkative.
  • Only Sane Man: The only Legendz Club member to actively defy Shu's antics, and sees playing in the beach stupid for Legendz. She later mellows down and even accepts the club title Shu gave her.
  • The Smart Girl: The smartest member of the group. It's as if her vast knowledge about Legendz and their history didn't ensure you already.
  • The Smurfette Principle: The only female Legendz amongst the main cast.
  • Super Power Lottery: If you ask a reason why she is so powerful, her Elemental Change powers grants her this. She can use any elements to turn the tables into her favor. And the less said about her ability to transform into her Command Griffin form, the better.
  • Sealed Inside a Person-Shaped Can: Before Mac gains his talispod, she was this, sealed inside Mac's body. Mac will transform into her if triggered enough.
  • You Can't Fight Fate: Has a firm belief on this, believing that Legendz are destined to follow the fate they always follow these times, and that they can't avoid fighting regardless of their own wills. Meeting Shiron and Shu causes her to change this belief.

Greedo The Blazedragon

Voiced By: Yoshiyuki Yamaguchi

Dino's Legendz, and the Great Fire Legendz. He first appears after being Reborn by the so-called "Fire Saga" (Edward). However, he is attracted more to Dino rather than listening to his old Saga, making Dino his real Saga. He has a tough personality, but is also a fun-loving and laid-back guy. Greedo longs for a normal life and hates to fight in the Legendz War, since it took the lives of many of his fellow Legendz and his former Saga, Selba.

  • Anime Hair: His "hair" gets noticeably spikier in his Command Blazedragon form.
  • The Berserker: In the past Legendz War, after Selba dies, he flies into a rage and triggers the activation of the Volcano Elemental Legion, destroying everything until Garion stops him from raging.
  • Berserk Button: He is not too fond of the topic of Legendz War being brought up, since it causes his Saga and his fellow Legendz to die in the previous ensuing war.
  • Determinator: Rarely gives up on a situation and always tries his best.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: It generally takes a lot of energy from his Saga for Greedo to activate, and this causes his past Saga Selba to die. He is still not over it to this day. Much of his character arc focuses on how he gets over this.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Has some shades of this, and is prone into snarking at the silliness his friends tend to induce.
  • Face of a Thug: He does not look like a very pleasant person in the planet. However, his personality is the contrary of his looks— he is actually a pretty considerate and easygoing guy.
  • Hot-Blooded: While he is a Nice Guy and all, Greedo is also rather agressive would rather solve problems using his fists, as seen when the Conoledo Windragon awakens the Dragon Kings to start the war.
  • I'm Not Here to Make Friends: Unintentionally said this to Dino word-to-word when the latter expresses gratitude to be able to make friends with him, which reminds him of his Dark and Troubled Past. Unfortunately, Greedo went too far in his words. He does apologize to Dino about it though.
  • More Dakka: His Command Blazedragon form's attacks has this all over the place. Special mention goes to Zoldyck Viper and Blaze Homing Blaster.
  • My Greatest Failure: He is still haunted by his past memories of his former saga Selba dying in the last Legendz War, blaming himself for causing Selba to overtax himself from reborning him. Thanks to Dino's participation, he gets over it.
  • Nice Guy: Despite being a fire Legendz with Face of a Thug, Greedo is actually pretty laid-back, caring and fun-loving, and is rarely seen angry— he only gets fired up when the topic of Legendz War is brought up.
  • Out of the Inferno: His first appearance, where he appears out of a literal fire before being completed.
  • Playing with Fire: Well duh, his name probably tells you enough.
  • The Resenter: He hates the Windragon who started the Legendz War, because he indirectly caused the deaths of his fellow Legendz and his former Saga Selba. Said Windragon turns out to be the Conoledo Windragon, Shiron and Ranshiin's true identity— which is why he is never shown to get into disputes with Shiron himself.
  • The Rival: Greedo is described as one to Shiron. They get along pretty well though.
  • Unstoppable Rage: When he meets again with Killbeat, the Legendz which murdered his Saga, he flies into a rage and attacks her recklessly, which is very unlike his easygoing self.
  • True Companions: With Wolfy and Leon, forming the group "G.W. Nicole". Also to Dino, as they both share the strongest bond out of any Legendz-Saga relationship.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Becomes weaker whenever he is doused with water, as being a Fire Legendz can tell you so much about it.

    Recurring Legendz

Leon The Manticore

Voiced By: Tsuyoshi Maeda

A wind Legendz, and a member of Greedo's group, G.W. Nicole. He is the more hot-headed guy in the trio.

  • Blow You Away: Well duh, he is a Wind Legendz, so what do you expect? It isn't his only power though.
  • Butt-Monkey: You guess it. For example, he is the only one whose name was altered radically in the group's name, and Greedo had to roast him when he got covered in metal.
  • Face of a Thug: Often feared due to his fierce looks, but he is actually a pretty decent and easygoing guy.
  • Hot-Blooded: The most brash and outspoken in the trio.
  • Light 'em Up: Even though he is classified as a Wind Legendz, his attack Metallio Beam has this element.
  • The McCoy: Is this to Greedo's Kirk and Wolfy's Spock in the G.W. Nicole trio.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The red to Wolfy's blue, due to being more hot-headed and rash.
  • Taken for Granite: In Episode 35, he gets coated in metal thanks to getting the metal of the bull on his body. Greedo cures him out of it though... Although the method is somewhat questionable.

Wolfy The Werewolf

Voiced by: Yutaka Nakano

Another member of the group G.W. Nicole, and an Earth Legendz. He is the most reserved and collected in the group.

  • Deadpan Snarker: Sometimes.
  • Dishing Out Dirt: His main power, being an Earth Legendz after all.
  • Dual Wielding: Wields two swords as a part of his power.
  • Mundane Made Awesome: Has two rather normal-looking swords as his main weapon and he doesn't kick less ass in it.
  • Nice Guy: Is very polite, reserved and gentle.
  • Not So Above It All: Sometimes joins in his friends' silliness even though he is amongst the most unlikely to do so, along with Garion.
  • Only Sane Man: The Legendz Club's other example asides from Garion, but unlike her he isn't so averse from getting into silly moments at times.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Leon's red, being more reserved compared to the latter.
  • The Spock: Is one to Greedo's Kirk and Leon's McCoy.

Dandy The Devour Gator

Voiced By: Kouji Ishii

A water Legendz previously sent to defeat Shiron by DWC. Ever since he submitted to Shiron, he becomes the owner of the bar in the streets.

  • Always Save the Girl: He protects Anna from Shiron's wind to prevent her becoming wild, thus leaving her amongst the very few Legendz who got affected by the wind.
  • The Bartender: His occupation after quitting working for Dark Wiz Company.
  • Berserk Button: Calling him a crocodile will get you on his bad side.
  • Big Brother Worship: To Shiron, and the reason why Dandy refuses to fight him before finally forced into submission by BB. Dandy admires him and calls him "aniki" (big bro).
  • Do Not Call Me "Paul": He might look like one, but he hates being called a crocodile. For your information, he is a Devour Gator, thank you very much.
  • Face of a Thug: He might look scary, but he is actually a total bro who will help you in need.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: He protected Anna from being influenced by Shiron's cry, in the cost of losing himself in the process.
  • Killed Off for Real: Killed for real when a Jabberwock minion stomped on his souldoll in the Legendz War. Thank god the Reset Button exists.
  • Making a Splash
  • You Are What You Hate: He might deny it as much as he wants, but he really does look like a crocodile.

Salamander

A fire Legendz who was previously sent to defeat Shu and Shiron. After his defeat, he becomes a clerk at Dandy's bar.

  • Cloudcuckoolander: Averted. He might be silly sometimes especially in his debut, but other times he has been shown to demonstrate great awareness towards his surroundings.
  • Playing with Fire
  • Prehensile Tail: His main weapon— his tail is shaped like a literal hose that can dish out fire on his opponents.
  • Those Two Guys: Usually appears with Dandy.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Guess what happens when he runs out of oil...

Anna The Harpy

Voiced By: Chiemi Chiba

A wind Legendz who was sent to spy at Shu and covertly steal his Talispod, although she later went to rebel against BB's orders after getting too close to Shu and starting to change her mind as a result. Like Shiron, she can transform back and forth between two radically-different forms.

  • Becoming the Mask: How she was sent to do her mission. However, she grew tired of it and decided to abandon the mission as she grows closer to Shu.
  • Blow You Away: Attaboy.
  • Conflicting Loyalty: She becomes increasingly confused between following BB's orders to steal Shu's talispod or befriend Shu as she is growing close to him. She ultimately chose the latter, and it's safe to assume that she didn't regret her choices.
  • Cover-Blowing Superpower: When she was masquerading as a spy to get Shu's Talispod, she sometimes can't contain her animalistic tendencies that she almost ate mouse!Shiron at a time, nearly blowing her cover.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Oh my god, yes. She's got one sharp tongue. After she got free, this settled down a bit.
  • I Just Want to Be Free: Her whole character arc centers on this matter, eventually growing tired of being rentlessly commanded by BB and her goons. Meeting Shu solves this problem.
  • Love at First Sight: Shu's reaction to her during her first appearance. Needless to say, Meg isn't that amused.
  • Only Sane Man: She is amongst some of the few Legendz who retained their sanity after Shiron releases the Windragon's cry, thanks to Dandy's protection.
  • Rebellious Spirit: Can count as one due to the general nature of Legendz, and the fact that she is constantly rebelling against BB's orders.

Rapper King

Voiced By: Takashi Matsuyama

A very absent-minded water Legendz octopus who doesn't seem to know how to do things other than singing. He becomes a free-roaming Legendz after his defeat against Shiron.

  • Cool Shades: Yup, he has one.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: And if you thought Shu was bad, you haven't clearly seen this guy in action.
  • Genki Guy: Always behaves jovial and happy, evidenced with his constant singing even in difficult situations.
  • Gentle Giant: Is bigger than most Legendz seen in the series, and although he is something of The Hyena and annoys people with his constant singing, he is actually non-violent and harmless.
  • The Hyena: He doesn't seem to be able to communicate normally— as he only knows how to sing.
  • Laughably Evil: In the episode where he was the main villain, his incompetence is so prevalent that he becomes this and Harmless Villain at best.

    Family and Friends

Halca Hepburn

Voiced By: Yuriko Fuchizaki

Shu's teacher who is seemingly obsessed with Legendz and will jump at any chances to learn about them. However, the reality about the creatures she is fascinated about turns out to be much darker than she expected...

  • A Day in the Limelight: Episode 39 is a recap episode that solely dedicates its spotlight to her.
  • Apathetic Teacher: As a Legendz researcher, she is very competent... But as a teacher, she doesn't seem to be really good at teaching as she mostly leaves her students for self-study.
  • Badass Teacher: Whenever she switches from her nerdy teacher getup to her adventurer one, she is this.
  • Broken Pedestal: Halca admires Legendz all her life, following the passion of her father, and is absolutely ecstatic whenever she meets one. However, as Shiron was unable to keep his promise to not involve Shu and the other kids from Legendz matter, she begins opposing and hating them.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Due to her fangirlism towards Legendz, Halca borders on manic and hyperactive whenever she meets them. As the second half rolls however, she completely drops this trait as she becomes opposed towards Legendz.
  • Conflicting Loyalty: Halca later finds herself extremely conflicted regarding what she wants to focus on— her loyalty towards her father, and her desire to protect the kids from the forgoing Legendz War her father is supporting. She ultimately chooses to oppose her father later.
  • Face–Heel Turn: From Episode 29, she assumes BB's role as the main antagonist. She gets better ten episodes later.
  • Fangirl: Towards every Legendz she can find, but Shiron takes the cake easily. This all came into a end however, after she starts discovering more about Legendz' true nature.
  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: At least in the first half, Halca is a total sweetheart who adores Legendz all over the place, if not a bit manic due to it.
  • Heel Realization: Goes through this in Episode 39 as she spends the whole episode refocusing to what she fights for, and how she was.
  • Hot Teacher: Whenever she goes to her usual adventure attire, she's this all hell over herself! Shu constantly falls for her whenever she does this, which pisses Meg off.
  • Interspecies Romance: With Shiron. It tragically came to an end when Shiron failed to keep his promise to keep the children out of the Legendz' business.
  • Missing Mom: She makes regular mention of her father when it comes to her Legendz love, little mention is made for her mom... At least until Episode 38 tells you otherwise, and it's horrifying.
  • Killed Off for Real: Was ultimately believed to be dead when she tries to call back Jabberwock in Episode 46, which leads to Yul being taken over by Jabberwock completely, materializing him and commencing the Legendz War. No, we're not joking. Thankfully averted when the Light Legendz pushed the Reset Button.
  • Letting Her Hair Down: Her adventurer getup has her doing this, as she unties the bun she has as a teacher.
  • Nerd Glasses: Halca's usual teacher getup has her wearing one. It's also fitting with her Legendz-freak nature.
  • Sexy Backless Outfit: Gains them post her Face–Heel Turn.
  • Take Me Instead: When she was inside Jabberwock's heart, she begs Jabberwock to free her mother and take her as a host instead. Ranshiin then took that role instead, saving both of them.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: She was at first a very sweet and happy woman, if not a Cloud Cuckoo Lander who is very obsessed with every Legendz she can find. In the second half however, she has dropped most of her past traits and came off as more sullen, serious and melancholic.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: The reason for her Face–Heel Turn and attacking the Four Great Legendz. Halca is genuinely worried about Shu and the other kids being involved with the Legendz and their war, which is the reason why she joined forces with Ranshiin and sent out Legendz to defeat the Four Great Legendz.

Sasuke Matsutani

Voiced By: Hiroyuki Sawada

Shu's father, and the one who pretty much kickstarted the whole plot by giving Shu the talispod he made.

  • Badass Normal: Created Shu's Talispod and the Spiritual Talisdam, and also joined the children to help Yul call back Jabberwock.
    • Also, it's a blink-or-miss-it moment, but he actually survived a horde of Legendz when they attacked him.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: He created both of Shu's Talispod and the Spiritual Talisdam, which requires a lot of complex techniques to build them.
  • Good Parents: Sasuke is very supportive of Shu and never gets annoyed by his Idiot Hero attitude.
  • Like Father, Like Son: He can be just as silly and absent-minded like his son, although he is far more rational and aware of his surroundings.
  • Nice Guy
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Sasuke created Shu's talispod, which pretty much led to Shiron's awakening, and it led to... much larger things on scale.

Yoko Matsutani

Voiced By: Yuri Amano

Shu's mother and Sasuke's wife. She is a housewife, and much unlike the parents of the other Sagas, is unaware of the Legendz' existence, due to Shu's refusal to tell her about what is actually going on.

  • Good Parents: Just like her husband, she cares for Shu dearly, and she is one of the people Shu truly cares about and actually bothers to give serious thoughts about.
  • Locked Out of the Loop: Is unaware of the Legendz' existence, thanks to Shu's refusal to tell her about the truth. Needless to say, it becomes a problem when she sees a black crystal Goblin attacking Shu, and she thought of it as something normal for parents to protect their child from.
  • NiceGirl: So nice that it makes you wonder how she takes care of her comparably-ditzier and more oblivious husband and son.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Oh god, yes. You'd really consider to rethink about the prevalence of her role when you came to know that she pretty much kickstarted the Legendz War.
  • Taken for Granite: Becomes frozen in the black legendz crystal after she protects Shu from it. Needless to say, this does not end well...

Bruno Sparks

Voiced By: Kouji Ishii

Dino's father, and the head of the incredibly rich Sparks family. He owns a toy company called Duck Mind Company, which produces knockoff toys from more famous ones, which is the primary source of his riches. Nevertheless, he is a workaholic who cares more about work rather than his home life, and attained a very strained relationship with both Dino and Melissa.

  • Beard of Sorrow: Gains this after spending time overthinking for a lot of nights making the Talisdam.
  • Character Development: Begins as a somewhat workaholic and neglectful father to Dino, and believes in copying other more popular toys will make his life better. After Dino calls him out on Episode 16, Bruno adopts a more caring attitude towards Dino and his home life, as well as obtaining fortune by making more original toys.
  • Fantastically Indifferent: Doesn't react much apart from being petrified for a moment when seeing Greedo, Wolfy and Leon free-loading in the Sparks household.
  • Foil: To Sasuke. Both are workaholic men who focus on their jobs to support their family. However, while Sasuke manages to be a good father and maintains a good relationship towards Shu and Yoko despite his work, Bruno is too busy with his work to care about his home life as well as his own son, which caused his wife to left.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Developed the Talisdam by himself. Also keep in mind that he has created toys with his own hands before.
  • Shoddy Knockoff Product: His modus operandi to obtain his riches. Even his company's name is a knockoff of Dark Wiz Company's. Melissa and Dino aren't happy about it. After his Character Development, he decides to make his fortune using a more original path.
  • Ugly Guy, Hot Wife: Used to have this dynamic with Melissa. He is an average-looking man while Melissa is a slim, beautiful woman. Not so much anymore when Melissa returns to the Sparks household years later.
  • Wacky Parent, Serious Child: His dynamic with Dino post-Character Development.
  • Workaholic: So busy that he has little time to care about his home life, which caused Melissa to leave the household, leaving Dino with serious Parental Abandonment issues. He ditches this after Dino calls him out of it.

Melissa Sparks

Voiced By: Reiko Yasuhara

Dino's mother and Bruno's estranged wife, who only appears in flashbacks before finally making a proper appearance in Episode 24.

  • Came Back Wrong: Played for Laughs. When she returns to the Spark household, Dino was shocked to see how much she has changed. Given the difference between her appearance in the past and the present, this was unsurprising.
  • Chubby Mama, Skinny Papa: At first not, but after the time skip she is the chubby mama to Bruno's skinny papa.
  • Formerly Fat: Inverted. In her younger days, Melissa used to be very slim and has a delicate body figure. Then she left the Sparks household, and after the Time Skip, she has transformed into a rather short and obese woman.
  • Good Parents: Is highly supportive and caring of Dino as opposed to her workaholic husband.
  • Gentle Giant: Despite her appearance, she is still as gentle and nice as she is in the past.
  • I Got Bigger: She left the Sparks household when Dino was young, and when she returns, holy god did she get bigger.
  • Nice Girl

Mr and Ms. Sprinkles and MacField

  • Out of Focus: They do not receive as much focus as the Matsutani and Sparks couple.
  • Satellite Characters: They have little characterization on their own apart from being Meg and Mac's parents.

    The Dark Wiz Company

Bunny "Buchou" Brookmeyer

Voiced By: Yuri Amano

An employee of the Dark Wiz Company, as well as the Starter Villain of the series. Ordered by the higher-ups, BB is hell-bent on obtaining Shu's talispod at whatever cost, using various Legendz to do so. In the latter half of the series, BB and her minions quit the Dark Wiz Company and started working in Bruno's new toy company Duck Duck Toys.

  • Affably Evil: Despite her mission, BB is very polite and only uses violence when time calls it. She even protects Shu during the outrage of Legendz in Episode 26.
  • Benevolent Boss: In spite of her ocassional outbursts at them, BB treats the JJs with care and respects them as underlings, more so after their Heel–Face Turn.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: The leader of an incredibly incompetent Goldfish Poop Gang group, yet manages to execute strategic plans at different times— Episode 13, 43 and 47 shows that she can be very competent when time calls it.
  • Back for the Finale: After being Put on a Bus for about ten episodes or so once pulling a Heel–Face Turn, she takes a plenty of participation in the finale, helping the heroes to battle Jabberwock's forces.
  • Berserk Button: Do not ever call her an old lady (obasan). You will regret it.
  • Dual Wielding: She uses two Talispods in the finale to combat Jabberwock's forces.
  • Goldfish Poop Gang: The leader, along with J1 and J2.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Quits working for Dark Wiz Company in Episode 28 along with the JJs as they declared their resignation, and decides to not concern herself with Legendz.
  • Interspecies Romance: Has a brief moment with Greedo in Episode 45 when he winks at her, causing her to fall head over heels for him.
  • Laughably Evil: Dear god. This woman just tries to appear threatening, and she epically fails in it as she is incredibly incompetent in doing her job.
  • Nice Job Fixing It, Villain: Doubles with Idiot Ball. Hadn't she corrected Shu about the right way to say 'Reborn', Shiron would never have awakened.
  • Only Known by Their Nickname: She is previously always referred to as "BB" or "Buchou" at least until Episode 46 where her full name is revealed to be Bunny Brookmeyer.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: BB is not legitimately evil, she is just doing what her higher-ups told her to do.
  • Redemption Demotion: Appears less and less frequently after her Heel–Face Turn, although she later takes an active role towards the finale.
  • Starter Villain: The first of the villains to confront Shu and the others along with the JJs. Later on, she pulls a Heel–Face Turn in Episode 28 and the villain role shifts to Halca, who in turn pulled a Face–Heel Turn.

The JJs (J1 & J2)

Voiced By: Eiji Takemoto (J1) and Tsuyoshi Maeda (J2)

BB's lackeys, and two employees from Dark Wiz Company who always appear alongside BB, providing her Souldolls to use in the day.

The Dark Wiz Company President

Voiced By: Takashi Matsuyama

The president of the Dark Wiz Company. At first, he appears to be the mastermind of all source of problems, but it is eventually revealed that he is far, far from the evil mastermind we suspect him to be.

  • Butt-Monkey: And how! Half of the screentime he had, he is always abused or tormented by Ranshiin.
  • Laughably Evil: It's really hard to take the guy seriously when all he did on-screen is being incompetent in his job and being tormented by Ranshiin.
  • Miniature Senior Citizen: Even shorter than Shu, and is rather elderly in appearance.
  • Non-Action Guy: He hardly does anything relevant to the plot of getting Shu's Talispod.
  • No Name Given: Is simply known as the president. Probably not important due to how much of a Butt Monkey he is.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Never appears again after Episode 34, where he was shown taking a break from Dark Wiz Company.

Professor Parkins

A scientist who works for the Dark Wiz Company. He mostly provides the comic relief and speaks in a rather strange manner.

Ranshiin

The mysterious chairperson of the Dark Wiz Company and a black-winged windragon. Has an interest in Shiron since they both have wind attributes.

  • Bad Boss: Just from going how he torments the Dark Wiz Company President alone. Ranshiin is not a very pleasant individual.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Shiron, naturally, both are windragons but while Shiron is emotional and at times hot-headed Ranshiin is cold, logical and calculating.
  • Fearful Symmetry: Has just as much power as Shiron most likely because their power comes from the same source
  • Manipulative Bastard: Manipulates others on a constant basis including apparently the Company CEO
  • We Used to Be Friends: Used to work together with the DWC's CEO, however Ranshiin was manipulating him the whole time causing their current relationship to be....strained

    Spoiler Characters

Dark Wiz Company CEO (Yul Hepburn)

Voiced By: Masashi Ebara

The CEO is the head of the Dark Wiz Company. He was always mentioned in-name only by his employees and Halca, which took a large part in emphasizing his mysteriousness. Later, he makes a proper appearance in the show in Episode 35. He turns out to be Yul Hepburn, Halca's long-lost father.

Prior to the beginning of the show, Yul is a scientist who researches Legendz due to his curiousity towards them. After a long period of research, this led into his encounter with Ranshiin. Along with Ranshiin, he established the Dark Wiz Company to awaken every Legendz in the world and he obtained all the Legendz' Souldolls, only to find out that the project is little more than a fodder for Ranshiin to start the Legendz War by awakening all the Legendz— which led Yul into becoming the Darkness Saga, and he aims to awaken Jabberwock to exterminate all Legendz.

  • The Atoner: After his Heel Realization, he tries to make amends for his sins by trying to call back Jabberwock. Which requires a lot of energy and preparation. Keep in mind that he doesn't have either at the moment, and Jabberwock has no intention of going quietly.
  • Affably Evil: His Anti-Villain nature aside, Yul is actually a pretty polite, soft-spoken and decent man when not focusing to his ambition and being taken over by Jabberwock.
  • Anti-Villain: While he is technically the Big Bad of the show, Yul is actually not evil— he only wants to end the Legendz War and protect human civilization from ending.
  • Badass Bookworm: He has spent his lifetime researching Legendz through books, and is now the Darkness Saga.
  • Badass Cape: Wears a cape in addition into being the Darkness Saga.
  • Broken Pedestal: He used to view the Legendz in high regard until he finds out about their true intentions and nature, and is now hell-bent on wiping them out.
  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: Averted. He has genuinely good intentions despite his ways to do so.
  • Demonic Possession: Jabberwock takes over the control of Yul's body several times and speaks through him.
  • Despair Event Horizon: Crosses it after Halca's death in the original timeline. He goes nuts and his despair causes Jabberwock to power up enough in order to materialize in the Legendz Kingdom.
  • Doting Parent: He cares for his daughter dearly and still calls her 'cute Halca' even after she grew up. Deconstructed as said doting-ness caused him to be willing to do just about any method to keep his daughter from harm, including awakening an Eldritch Abomination to exterminate all Legendz.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Granted, he is actually not evil, but he aims to approach his goal in order to protect his wife and daughter.
  • Evil Laugh: Has an epic one in Episode 43.
  • Good Eyes, Evil Eyes: His eyes reflect more light when he gets controlled by Jabberwock, which is ironic considering Jabberwock is a Darkness Legendz.
  • Heel Realization: Yul eventually realizes that the things he has done did nothing more than grief and pain to his own family and the rest of humanity, and breaks down over what he did.
  • Hypocrite: Yul's goals has led him into contradicting many of his words. To begin with...
    • He claims to hate Legendz and is determined to wipe them out. By what? Using other Legendz to combat them.
    • He also wants to get rid of the fear and hate humanity had in mind, and he uses a Legendz that is practically the embodiment of fear and hate itself.
    • Lastly, he claims that he wanted to protect his wife, despite the fact that using her to power up a monster is only hurting her even more.
  • Knight Templar: He thinks that his methods are right in spite of the fact that his wife is in a lot of pain and his daughter is clearly not happy about the way he handles things.
  • Lack of Empathy: When controlled by Jabberwock, he loses all empathy that he had even for his own daughter.
  • Love Makes You Evil: Played with. Yul is a good man at heart and genuinely cares for his family, but his love and desire to make them happy drives him to do several morally questionable things like using his own wife to power up Jabberwock and he becomes hellbent on wiping out Legendz as a result.
  • Man Behind the Man: No, the short, Butt-Monkey Dark Wiz Company president wasn't the mastermind behind all of the whole plot. Yul is, and it turns out that the so-called President is just a decoy.
  • Token Adult: The only adult Saga to be seen in the series, probably because he can take the toll of being Jabberwock's Saga more than any child could do.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Crab sandwich. He stopped eating it after his wife Lad drops unconscious after seeing Ranshiin.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: He had genuinely good goals, but not the methods. He is willing to use his wife to power an Eldritch Abomination up, as well as using said Legendz to wipe out all of the Legendz despite the fact that they have their own wills to live. It hardly works and backfires horribly in both of the original and new timeline. In the original, the Legendz War starts and Halca dies as a result, while the new timeline had a better ending but has Halca and Lad being held hostage by Jabberwock.
  • We Used to Be Friends: With Ranshiin. They used to work together to complete their project to awaken the Legendz to the world, but it turns out that Ranshiin was manipulating him to speed up the process of the Legendz War, and now their relationship... Is not to good to say at least.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: What happens to him after Jabberwock is defeated is unknown. Seems to happen to the whole Hepburn family as they weren't shown again after Shiron flees from Jabberwock.

Lad Hepburn

Halca's mother and Yul's wife, who only appears in flashbacks. However, she later makes a proper appearance in Episode 38... encased inside Jabberwock's Souldoll in order to power it up.-
  • Absurdly Youthful Mother: Lad looks very youthful despite seemingly being around the same age as her husband, who is supposed to be in his mid-fourties. Considering she has been encased in a souldoll for who knows how many years, this could be justified.
  • I'm Cold... So Cold...: More like "I'm scared... So scared...". These are the words that she muttered during Jabberwock's outrage after his heartstrings get tugged hard by Halca and Shu.
  • Living Battery: Is one to Jabberwock. Lad feels constant fear towards Legendz, and her husband uses this to help awaken Jabberwock.
  • The Lost Lenore: The way Yul describes her in his flashbacks makes it look like she is this. Horribly subverted when she is revealed to not only be alive, but is actually encased inside a Souldoll and is used to power up Jabberwock.
  • Mum Looks Like a Sister: Looks very young for someone who is supposed to be in her mid-40s, to the point she could easily pass as Halca's younger sister.
  • Taken for Granite: She spends most of her proper appearance being encased inside Jabberwock's Souldoll.
  • Tears of Joy: Lets out one after she was finally reunited with Halca at last.

Spiritual Legendz

A group of Light Legendz that appear during Episode 48. They are opposed to the concept of the Legendz War, and so attempt to orchestrate the end of the cycle behind the scenes until they're ultimately forced to intervene when things go off the rails.-
  • Anvil on Head: After pressing the Reset Button and sending Shiron back to the point before he took the battle against Jabberwock to the Legendz Kingdom, they drop a tub on his head when it looks like he's still set to repeat events due to Ranshiin's influence.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: Their leader, the Legendz God, tends to go off on tangents or meaningless exposition. This leads to the rest of the Spiritual Legends to constantly interrupt him.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Landers Minder: The rest of the Spiritual Legendz serve as this to the Legendz God, having to constantly cut in when he takes the conversation off track with meaningless exposition.
  • Prophecy Twist: They wrote the Legendz Book in hopes that those who read it would thwart the Legendz War, but the writing itself is vague enough that most who read it tend to get things wrong. They even note themselves that the minsinterpretation of one particular verse is how things spiraled out of control; one line in the book spoke of the "flurrying wind" and the "blustering wind". When Haluca read the line, she thought it was talking about Shiron and Ranshiin combining back into one. In truth, it was really talking about Shiron and the bond with his Saga, Shu.
  • War Is Hell: Strongly of this opinion, stating that the Legendz War is fundamentally pointless with no moral higher ground to be found, simply calling it a battle where people lose their lives, civilization is destroyed, and the world doesn't come out for the better in the end.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: They chastise Shiron for ignoring Shu telling him not to fight in the Legendz War, as nothing good would come of it.
