!!Shuuzou “Shu” Matsutani

The main protagonist of the series, Shiron The Windragon’s owner, and the Wind Saga. Shu is about as much of an IdiotHero you can expect, but he actually cares for his friends despite his behavior and general obliviousness, and he, to his fellow friends and Legendz, is the lynchpin that holds them all together.

* CloudcuckooLander: Except Mac and to a lesser extent Zuou— who seems to be the only people to understand him, nobody knows what the boy’s deal is. Shu is more than often oblivious to the situations he is in, even during dire times.

* IdiotHero: One of his defining characteristics. Then it’s partially justified because he is only like… 10 years old at best.

One of Shu’s best friends. She is later revealed to be the Water Saga, as well as the owner of Zuou The Bigfoot. Meg is pretty much your run-in-the-mill {{Tsundere}} childhood friend. She begins thinking high of Legendz, but thanks to the incident with Garion, she begins to hate them and tries to keep them away (Shiron being the only exception). Much of her character arc revolves on her trying to get over this fear and hate.

* CloudcuckooLandersMinder: Often has to snap Shu out of his obliviousness, often by landing a ‘Meg Chop’ on him.
* ClingyJealousGirl: Doesn’t like it whenever Shu flirts with other women, especially when he flirts with Anna The Harpy. Hilariously enough, she herself betrays her own behavior at one point (see HypocriticalHumor below).
* DefrostingIceQueen: Meg starts off having a high opinion of Legendz, but after the incident with the Griffin, her opinion of them gets gradually lower, and Zuou’s insistence to keep around with her only gives her more discomfort. She eventually overcomes her fear in Episode 28 after Zuou saved her life.

* HumanizingTears: She has two, in Episode 47 and 50, when Zuou [[spoiler:was returned into his mindless state in the former, and disappears in the latter.]] It’s clear that she has grown to care about him very much and that she regrets being mean to him and didn’t get to do many things with him even after they became friends.

* IJustWantToBeNormal: Meg doesn't like being the Water Saga, and she wants nothing to do with Legendz. Though she gets better later on.

* JapanesePoliteness: Always addresses her fellow Legendz (except Zuou) with the honorific ‘-san’ despite her casual attitude with her friends.

!!Mike “Mac” [=McField=]

Shu’s best friend and arguably the only friend who has been openly nice to him all the time. Mac is eventually revealed to be the Earth Saga, as well as Garion The Griffin’s owner. He is one of the nicest members in the cast, and is shown to be able to befriend people with ease.

* MoralityPet: Towards Dino and Garion. He often comforts the former whenever he is feeling lonely due to his issues, and the latter whenever she becomes frustrated with Shu and Shiron’s antics.
* NiceGuy: Mac is a freaking treasure. He is almost never seen angry or resentful— which is the reason why he was able to get along with almost all of his fellow friends. Because of this, he is the only one to be able to withstand Shu’s obliviousness, and is instead more weirded out at ''Meg'' for slapping him to often. Mac also tries to cheer [[TheCynic Garion]] up by showing the better aspects of nature.

* OutOfFocus: Gets the least amount of spotlight alongside the human cast. Unlike his friends, he doesn’t have a character arc going on, and most of the deal of his transformation to a Legendz is more vital to Garion’s development.

* TraumaInducedAmnesia: He doesn’t remember a thing whenever he detransforms from his Garion form, probably induced by the pain the transformation caused.

The Fire Saga and Greedo The Blazedragon’s owner. Dino is the son of the rich Sparks family, who owns a toy company. Dino used to live in a pretty sheltered life before meeting Greedo and getting involved in the whole Legendz deal. Much of his character arc revolves around his struggle to have friends, and him opening up to people around him.

* FriendlessBackground: Dino doesn’t have many friends, which is why he cares very much for Greedo, since Greedo is probably the first person to show care towards him, and he is shown to be jealous of Shu, because in spite of his attitude and lousy grades, he has pretty much tons of friends.
* InSeriesNickname: “Snob” from Shu, doubling as MaliciousMisnaming. Shiron and Meg also calls him this at a point.
* InsistentTerminology: “My name is Dino!”, in line with the above trope.
* MissingMom: Dino’s mother Melissa left their household due to Bruno’s poor parenting skills and lack of care towards their home life. She comes back, but her appearance is… Needless to say, not what Dino had in mind.
* MisunderstoodLonerWithAHeartOfGold: Dino is usually aloof, composed and doesn’t seem to show any care for the admiration his fans had for him, but inside, he is very lonely, and his greatest wish is to have friends, and is actually a pretty decent guy once you get to know him.

* WackyParentSeriousChild: After Dino and Bruno’s relationships were fixed, this is pretty much their dynamic. They could not get more different than each other, and Dino is often annoyed by his father’s antics.

Shu’s Legendz and the deuteragonist of the series. He comes from the Windragon clan, and does not remember his past or how he came to be. Shiron is a pretty laid-back guy, and is a bit ignorant and rude. Despite this, he cares and always tries to give his best to protect his fellow friends and Legendz, and especially cares for his Saga Shu. He also defies the fact that Legendz are born to fight and always longs for a normal life.

[[spoiler:Later, it’s revealed that Shiron and Ranshiin are the two halves of the same Legendz— Conoledo Windragon, who vanished after the last Legendz War and split into half. Part of the reason why he does not remember his past is because Ranshiin is the embodiment of the Conoledo Windragon’s memories, while Shiron is his physical form.]]

* BadassCape: [[spoiler: Wears a long cape in his Conoledo Windragon form, which only adds the ‘cool’ factor to it.]]
* BerserkButton: Hurting the sagas is one of the few things to set Shiron off. He is very protective of them, and will do anything to protect them. [[spoiler:In fact, when he sees Shu hurt, it’s the thing that makes him so angry that he triggers [[AngstNuke a strong wind]] that makes everything go FromBadToWorse.]]
* BlowYouAway: Shiron is a wind Legendz, after all. [[spoiler:Taken into an extreme in a lethal way when he releases the wind, called ‘Windragon’s cry’ by Garion, that turns all the Legendz into mindless monsters.]]
* [[DudeMagnet Chick/Dude Magnet]]: Many characters are attracted to him— be it Halca, Meg’s mouse counterpart, and [[GayOption Dandy]].

* GogglesDoNothing: Has a goggle in addition to his flight cap. He rarely uses it, except in Episode 50 [[spoiler:here he uses it to escape from Jabberwock’s insides.]]
* HeroicBSOD: Gets one during [[spoiler:Shu’s own HeroicBSOD. Shiron finds it so shocking to see him cry that he goes AngstNuke not so long after.]]
* InterspeciesRomance: With Halca, who is heavily fascinated by him. Shiron himself reciprocates her feelings and calls her a ‘cute girl’. They go out on a happy date in Episode 15. [[spoiler:This begins to fluctuate when Shiron fails to keep the children out of all the Legendz’ mischief, and when Halca begins to despise Legendz because of it. They get better, though…]]

* LaserGuidedAmnesia: He can’t remember a bit of his past and is very bothered by it. [[spoiler:It turns out that it was caused by him being merely the physical embodiment of the Conoledo Windragon, thus not having the memory, that is instead owned by Ranshiin.]]

* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: Has this moment when [[spoiler:he was shown Halca’s dead body in the giant Talispod during his time in the Light Legendz’ realm, and regrets what he did. Thank god the Light Legendz has a ResetButton.]]
* RidiculouslyCuteCritter: His lesser form, which resembles a mouse (hence Shu’s nickname ‘Nezuccho’). He freaks Halca out whenever he is in this form.

* TheUnintelligible: In his mouse form, he can only speak ‘ga ga ga ga ga’. This causes problems with Shu as he can’t understand what he is saying.

Meg’s Legendz, and the great water Legendz. He first debuts in Episode 13, appearing from a nearby pond after Meg gets accidentally kicked by Garion. Zuou is young, naive and is pretty much unaware of the things concerning Legendz, but cares about Meg and her friends, and will go to any lengths to protect them.

* CharacterDevelopment: At first, Zuou does not want to fight— he only wants to protect. He later learns that he ‘’needs’’ to fight to protect everyone he loves in Episode 32, leading to his victory against Yeti.

* GentleGiant: One of the nicest Legendz in the series, and because of this, he gets popular with Shu’s baseball team more than Shu himself ever was.

* NiceGuy: His GentleGiant attitude aside, Zuou is only Legendz Club member outside Mac to not complain about Shu’s antics, mostly due to how childlike he is and can synchronize with Shu because of it. He also tolerates Meg’s attitude in spite of her hate towards him, and keeps on trying to become friends with her.

* UndyingLoyalty: To Meg. She keeps yelling at him to go away and constantly keeps him at arm’s length, but Zuou still cares very much about her insists to protect her.

The great Earth Legendz, as well as Mac’s Legendz. Garion first appears when Mac transforms into her, and it was revealed that she was in fact, at first sealed in her Saga’s body before Mac gains his talispod in Episode 26. She is the oldest Legendz in the group, and has a great amount of knowledge regarding Legendz and their history. She is wise and powerful, and has a belief that Legendz can’t avoid their fate to fight in the upcoming Legendz War.

* CoolBigSis: She is the oldest in the Legendz Club, and is called ‘sis’ by Leon and Wolfy. Also doubles as CoolOldLady as she is about thousands-year old.

* OnlySaneMan: The only Legendz Club member to actively defy Shuu’s antics, and sees playing in the beach stupid for Legendz. She later mellows down and even accepts the club title Shu gave her.
* TheSmartGirl: The smartest member of the group. It’s as if her vast knowledge about Legendz and their history didn’t ensure you already.

* SealedInsideAPersonShapedCan: Before Mac gains his talispod, she was this, sealed inside Mac’s body. Mac will transform into her if triggered enough.
* YouCantFightFate: Has a firm belief on this, believing that Legendz are destined to follow the fate they always follow these times, and that they can’t avoid fighting regardless of their own wills. Meeting Shiron and Shu causes her to change this belief.

* MyGreatestFailure: He is still haunted by his past memories [[spoiler:of his former saga Selba dying in the last Legendz War, blaming himself for causing Selba to overtax himself from reborning him.]] Thanks to Dino’s participation, he gets over it.

* TheResenter: He hates the Windragon who started the Legendz War, because he indirectly caused the deaths of his fellow Legendz and [[spoiler:his former Saga Selba.]] [[spoiler:Said Windragon turns out to be the Conoledo Windragon, Shiron and Ranshiin’s true identity— which is why he is never shown to get into disputes with Shiron himself.]]

* TrueCompanions: With Wolfy and Leon, forming the group "G.W. Nicole”. Also to Dino, as they both share the strongest bond out of any Legendz-Saga relationship.

* BigBrotherWorship: To Shiron, and the reason why Dandy refuses to fight him before finally forced into submission by BB. Dandy admires him and calls him 'aniki' (big bro).

* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: She is previously always referred to as 'BB' or 'Buchou' at least until Episode 46 where her full name is revealed to be Bunny Brookmeyer.

* BadassBaritone: Has a deep voice and is one of the most badass Legendz in the series.

* ArmorPiercingSlap: Meg Chop. She does it very often, usually reserved for Shu (although she also lands one on Rapper King, which is a rare occasion). She cuts down on these when the show shifts into a more serious tone in the second half.

* BikerBabe: Drives a motorcycle whenever she is in her adventurer getup.

* CryCute: She has two, in Episode 47 and 50, when Zuou [[spoiler:was returned into his mindless state in the former, and disappears in the latter.]] It’s clear that she has grown to care about him very much and that she regrets being mean to him and didn’t get to do many things with him even after they became friends.

* NiceHat: His flight cap. There is even an episode centered on it.

* IdiotHero: Takes it UpToEleven, and one of his defining characteristics. Then it’s partially justified because he is only like… 10 years old at best.

* AbsurdlyYouthfulMother: Taken UpToEleven. Lad looks very youthful despite seemingly being around the same age as her husband, who is supposed to be in his ''mid-fourties''. Considering she has been encased in a souldoll for who knows how many years, this could be justified.
