    Grand Admiral Marina
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/marinagl.png
I follow the wind, the water, and adventures.
JP artwork
Marina was the youngest navy admiral of Kanterbury's ally, Adela Kingdom... until she lost her ship "Irmina" and her crew on the day Kanterbury fell to the Invaders. Since then, she left the Adela Navy to start a one-woman crusade against the Invaders that made her lose everything she cared about.
Rarity: 3-star
Species: Human
Age: 27
Height and weight: 163cm/51kg
Element: Water
Role: Tanker
Exclusive Weapon: Armada
Voiced by: Aoi Yūki (Japanese), Cristina Vee (English)
Illustrator: くるみつ (JP)

  • A Day in the Limelight: She's the featured character of the side-story 21 Kanterbury Street.
  • Ambidextrous Sprite: An "illustration" example: In her Global art, her eyepatch covers her left eye, while the Japanese art covers the right one. Her actual sprite also follows this trope.
  • Anchors Away: She can chuck an anchor at ranged targets, an ability enhanced by both her exclusive weapon and 5* ability. This ability also pulls in weaker enemies.
  • BFS: She has two, one is the sword on her back (which she doesn't use), and the other is her exclusive weapon Armada. Despite Armada being a one-handed sword, they are likely as tall as she is.
  • Eye Scream: She lost her left eye in a battle with Orca. In return, she cut off Orca's arm.
  • Good All Along: She first appears to be running the brutal system of popularity in Kanterbury High for her own ego and is suspected of aiding the Invader's infiltration and subversion efforts. She's eventually revealed to be covertly running the place to seek out the real Invader agents to protect the students from their schemes.
  • Jack of All Trades: Has high HP and defense due to her Tanker role, but she can also hit and reach hard if you have Armada equipped, and her anchor pull counts as a range attack if there are enemies you can't reach.
    • Her Special Ability amps up her defense even more by giving her a 30% defense increase for 5 seconds when throwing her anchor, which also has a 5-second cooldown.
  • Jerkass Has a Point: While she did run a brutal hierarchy of popularity in Kanterbury High, she was quick to point out that the high ranking students worked hard to achieve their status and served the student body in various ways. While the main critic of her system claimed she wanted equality, but was motivated less by altruistic ideals than a desire to improve her own social status without having to do anything herself.
  • Leitmotif: The Admiral.
  • Not So Above It All: She's a shell-shocked stoic admiral taking revenge on the Invaders that destroyed her crew... and she can dress in her shark pajamas while doing it.
  • Older Than They Look: She was able to pass as a high school student in the side-story 21 Kanterbury Street, and has done so for quite some time, despite being in her late twenties.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Despite the harsh hierarchy of popularity Kanterbury High's students ran under, she was a genuinely reasonable leader that worked to protect the school from dangerous influences and fostered the students to rise through merit and effort.
  • Revenge: She lost her ship and crew when the Invaders raided Kanterbury at the beginning of the plot and has been crusading against them ever since.
  • The Stoic: Not exactly one for small talk, so much so that her seemingly apathetic appearance leads people to believe she reluctantly became a commander. In reality, it's more that she only focuses on things and people she's more interested in. You can only see her emote when the player sends a chat sticker while using her in the Guild.

    Noble Succubus Bianca
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/biancagl.png
I'll make everyone shiver. Whether with cold or fear.
JP artwork
An upstart succubus lady from a great noble family. Despite her blue-blooded upbringing and great genius, she was almost a failure in seduction because of her inherent power to summon ice instead of charming humans. She planned to be an orchestra maestro until Yuze, her classmate and one-sided "rival", happily announced her career as an adventurer, at which point she also became one to try and one-up her. It's definitely not because she likes her or anything...
Rarity: 3-star
Species: Succubus
Age: 20
Height and weight: 165cm/49kg
Element: Water
Role: Ranged
Exclusive Weapon: Astarte
Voiced by: Sayaka Ohara (Japanese), Patricia Summersett (English)
Illustrator: イコモチ (JP)

  • An Ice Person: Uses a variety of ice-based sword waves to attack.
  • Bodyguard Babes: A gender inversion. She has a horde of bodyguards that dress and look like male models as her estate's staff.
  • Can't Spit It Out: She has a massive crush on Yuze, but can't bring herself to ever admit it to her.
  • Charged Attack: She can charge up her sword waves, which can become absolutely devastating if paired with her buffs.
  • Hartman Hips: Her hips are by far the widest parts of her body. Her JP art tones them down a little but still has them quite large.
  • Hate at First Sight: She immediately dislikes the Knight and accuses them of not being good enough to be Yuze's adventuring partner instead of her.
  • Life Drain: Astarte, when equipped on her, restores her HP by 15% of the damage of her normal attack.
  • Lipstick Lesbian: She's highly feminine and only has eyes for Yuze.
  • Non-Idle Rich: Her family's wealth would be more than enough to ensure she never has to work, but she adventures anyway as an excuse to be close to Yuze.
  • The Rival: Considers herself one to Yuze after Yuze graduated ahead of her.
  • Sacrificed Basic Skill for Awesome Training: She's really good at just about anything except seducing others. As it turns out, this is just a bit unusual for a succubus and is the reason why Yuze graduated ahead of her.
  • Sitcom Archnemesis: She deeply dislikes the Knight out of jealousy of them being Yuze's adventuring partner instead of herself. She takes every opportunity to pettily insult them unless Yuze is present.
  • Stalker Shrine: The player chances upon one to Yuze in Bianca's home during the Succubus Cafe side-story. They threaten to tell Yuze about it to "convince" Bianca to join the cafe's staff.
  • Stalker with a Crush: In the short story Elite Idol Agents: Episode Bianca, she follows Yuze and the Knight on a mission, fuming in a jealous rage all the while.

    Nine-tailed Fox Garam
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/garamgl.png
Nari... was right about you.
JP artwork
A fox sage just like Nari who's kind-hearted and close to humans, but he went berserk due to the death of his young human friend Dallae at the hands of some greedy humans who desired his wish-granting Sage magic until he was snapped out of it by Nari sacrificing her Sage Bead and the Knight fighting him. After the events of Folktale, he retrained in the mountains and eventually returned to his former self.
Rarity: 3-star
Species: Fox
Age: Unknown
Height and weight: 184cm/76kg
Element: Water
Role: Ranged
Exclusive Weapon: Thousand Thunder
Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai (Japanese), Brian T. Delaney (English)
Illustrator: イコモチ (JP)

  • A Day in the Limelight: Stars in the side-story Folktale.
  • Asian Fox Spirit: Garam is a nine-tailed fox spirit sage.
  • Asshole Victim: Not him of course, but the greedy villagers that brought upon Dallae's death clearly deserved their fate.
  • The Atoner: He spent decades walking the earth as penance for giving in to his rage and attempting to destroy humanity in his short story.
  • Combat Medic: Despite being a Ranger instead of a Supporter, Garam has a decent healing stat that allows him to heal himself and his teammates with his auto-attacks, and his healing stat doubles if he's equipped with a Basket. He also used to be the strongest hero in terms of damage-per-second until the arrival of Slayer Andras, and even then he still hits like a truck.
  • Cute Monster Girl: Gender-Inverted. Garam is a Bishōnen fox spirit.
  • De-power: He lost most of his power when his magic bead was destroyed at the end of Folktale. He considered it a fitting punishment for his actions and set out to begin his sage training again, explaining why his new signature weapon is a bow instead of a bead.
  • Fish out of Temporal Water: He's been training alone for so long post-Folktale that he has difficulty understanding the various technological advancements that have been made. He firmly believes Sohee to be a sage for her technology and chides her for having an attitude unbecoming of the role.
  • Glass Cannon: Garam hits HARD when fully kitted, but can't take much punishment in return.
  • Kill All Humans: When Garam snaps during the events of Folktale, he planned to eradicate humanity out of disgust with their greed and callousness.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Garam retains his fox ears and nine fox tails in his humanoid form.
  • Magic Missile Storm: You have the option of equipping him with a basket, which converts his basic attack into this. This setup does less damage but enhances his healing.
  • Multiple-Tailed Beast: As his title implies, Garam has nine fox tails that are visible in both his humanoid form and his true form.
  • Nice Guy: He selflessly helps people in the side story and can be seen outside of it putting spirits to rest gently in Nightmare Mt. Shivering.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: All his efforts to improve the lives of the valley's humans lead to tragedy. The more he magically solves their problems, the more the people take him for granted and feel entitled to magical service. Eventually, they grow so greedy and callous that they try to monopolize his gifts for their own profit. This eventually reaches a head when The villagers kidnap his young friend Dallae to try to extort him out of his magical bead and accidentally kill the young girl out anger and frustration when he doesn't immediately comply.
  • Roaring Rampage of Revenge: He murders an entire village in response to Dallae's death, and tried to unleash magical Armageddon on humanity as a whole before Nari stopped him.
  • Ship Tease: With Rachel in the Heavenhold animated comics, at least to a small degree. The first comic involved his first meeting with her, and the festival comic has him and a sleeping Nari accompany a drunken Rachel while watching the Lantern Festival.
  • Splash Damage Abuse: Don't stand too close to walls when fighting Garam, as his arrows produce large blasts when they hit anything and these blasts are just as painful as being directly shot.
  • Tragic Keepsake: Even after many years, he still has Dallae's flower wreath with him (even gazing at it in his art's idle animation).
  • Tranquil Fury: He rampaged through the villagers that killed Dallae with brutal efficiency. No special sage powers, just calmly walking over to each villager and throwing fox fire at them until they were all dead.
  • Walking the Earth: Goes to train in solitude after the events of Folktale.

    Chosen One's Archpriestess Veronica
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/veronicagl.png
Hello! Do you have a minute to talk about our one and only salvation?
JP artwork
Veronica is the Archpriestess of the Chosen One, a group of people with a fanatic belief that "the legendary Chosen One will give them salvation from all the torment of this land".
Rarity: 3-star
Species: Human
Age: 37
Height and weight: 160cm/53kg
Element: Water
Role: Support
Exclusive Weapon: Messiah
Voiced by: Rie Tanaka (Japanese), Analesa Fisher (English)
Illustrator: Tam-U (JP)

  • Bolt of Divine Retribution: Is an Archpriestess that has lightning-based attacks, although her actual holiness is debatable.
  • Clap Your Hands If You Believe: Her faith in the "Chosen One" is so powerful that it's actually started manifesting as holy powers.
  • Critical Hit Class: While her party buff is Skill Damage, she improves crit specs with her in-battle buffing effects.
  • Cult: The Chosen One religion is essentially this, down to the suicidal beliefs.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: Her pupils are shaped like stars.
  • Lack of Empathy: She has no qualms whatsoever about leading uncountable people to torture or death in her search for the Chosen One. Her cult recruitment video has her cheerfully smiling as her underlings carry endless coffins filled with the bodies of people she got painfully killed during her trials.
  • Light Is Not Good: She may prop herself up as a holy woman, but that doesn't change the fact that she and her followers have led countless innocents to their deaths with their near-impossible trials and delusional tales of grandeur to unsuspecting victims. That's not even mentioning using Clara as a human weapon.
  • Principles Zealot: Her entire being is dedicated to finding and training the "Chosen One". The problem is that nobody that has gone through the Trial of the Chosen One has survived it so far, and she's REALLY enthusiastic about trying to convert non-believers. The fact that she keeps recruiting more and more people into her cult trying to find the "Chosen One" doesn't help matters.
  • Scary Amoral Religion: Her cult can be summed up as, "Oh yes, the Chosen One will be one of you. What matters if many of you die, as long as we find the one?"
  • The Unfettered: As far as she and her cult are concerned, no action undertaken to find Chosen One is a sin.
  • Vocal Dissonance: In Japanese, Rie Tanaka gives her a more squeaky voice ala Neptune, that's greatly unexpected from a 37-year-old adult woman leading what is essentially an extremist cult, in the Japanese voice pack.

    Lifeguard Yuze
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/summeryuzegl.png
Hey, partner! Call me when you need help on the beach! Whatever it is!
JP artwork
Following a sudden decline in lifeguard numbers on the beach, thanks to the antics of a certain scientist, Yuze decided to try her hand at heroism from the lifeguard tower to protect the beachgoers in their stead. She uses all her usual energy and monster-wrangling skills to ensure the beach remains a fun and safe destination.
Rarity: 3-star
Species: Succubus
Age: 20
Height and weight: 163cm/45kg
Element: Water
Role: Warrior
Exclusive Weapon: Ocean Keeper
Voiced by: Ellen Taira (Japanese), Alexa Kahn (English)
Illustrator: ロミヤ (GL/KR), ヨーグルト爆弾 (JP)

  • A Day in the Limelight: Finally gets one a year after her initial release with the summer-themed short story When You Wish Upon a Star, as the main controllable character.
  • Blackmail: In When You Wish Upon a Star, she gets Sohee help her repair [AA72] by threatening to officially file the many complaints about her reckless behavior on the beach to the higher-ups if stubborn scientist refuses.
  • Chronic Hero Syndrome: When Yuze heard of the increasing number of accidents at the beach, she immediately rushed in to volunteer her services as lifeguard. You can see this trope in full action in When You Wish Upon a Star.
  • Cool Big Sis: After saving AA72 in When You Wish Upon A Star, the little android sees Yuze as a substitute elder sibling. She often says how much she wants to be like her "big sis" that she admires so much.
  • Cute Monster Girl: Yuze is an adorable succubus who's even more alluring in her Japanese artwork.
  • The Dreaded: Sohee has been reprimanded by Yuze so many times that just being near her scares Sohee enough to make the surly scientist become unusually compliant.
  • Dude Magnet: Yuze is a little confused why the lifeguards suddenly got a lot of new recruits after she joined.
  • Fanservice Pack: Yuze trades out her usual fully covering attire for a one-piece swimsuit.
  • Friend to All Children: She gets along well with the children of the beach, going above and beyond the call of duty as a lifeguard to ensure they have a fun and safe time. This mindset is part of why she was able to bond with the childlike AA72 so quickly.
  • Hope Bringer: Her dedication and positivity are the only reasons crowds returned to the beach after the chaos Sohee causes.
  • Hotter and Sexier: Her JP artwork's lower camera angle makes it seem like her boobs are much bigger than usual, while also redesigning her competition swimsuit to have a much more intricate and alluring design. Add the fact that her facial expressions amplify her Innocent Fanservice Girl tendencies even more.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Ocean Keeper is a flotation device Yuze bludgeons monsters to death with.
  • Innocent Fanservice Girl: Yuze claims to get much more energy from beach-goers than she normally does from her web series while she's in this outfit for some reason. She assumes it's because the rescues are more dire so everyone's grateful for her hard work.
  • The Leader: Yuze is so deeply respected by the other lifeguards that they gladly follow her instructions to the letter.
  • Mundane Utility: Adventuring and monster fighting skills usually don't apply to lifeguarding, but Yuze's experience in life or death struggles with deadly creatures ended up making her the only lifeguard qualified to deal with the problems an attention-seeking Sohee and her heavily-armed surfboard tend to cause.
  • School Swimsuit: Wears the "competition swimsuit" variant underneath an open white coat as her lifeguard uniform.
  • Serious Business: While a lifeguard is important on a beach, being one is usually considered a dull and often thankless job. Yuze, however, treats it with as much dedication and gusto as any of her other adventures. She sees no accident or problem as too big or too small for her to help. This earns her the respect and admiration of the newer lifeguard recruits.
  • Spectacular Spinning: Her basic attack has her hold out her weapon and constantly spin like a top to attack any enemies around her.

    Warlord Mercenary Orca
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/orcagl.png
I'm on top of the food chain.
Orca is a fearsome mercenary who's driven by her hunger for money and power. An easily exhausted and irritable woman due to her lack of sleep and abandonment of social norms, she believes that any job worth money should be taken and that she can sleep when she's dead. She once fought against Marina in the Invader battle that led to the downfall of Marina's Irmina crew and Adela, her home country, and lost her left arm after she cut Marina's left eye. As a result, she now believes Marina is her sworn enemy and that she's the only one that can kill her. She sets off for Heavenhold after hearing about Marina joining the Knight in their quest, hoping to get the chance to finally kill her.
Rarity: 3-star
Species: Human
Age: 28
Height and weight: 167cm/53kg
Element: Water
Role: Ranged
Exclusive Weapon: Nemesis
Voiced by: Fairouz Ai (Japanese), Sarah Miller-Crews (English)

  • Arch-Enemy: She hates Marina with a passion for being the only person she couldn't take down in one fell swoop. She only came to Heavenhold to find Marina so she could settle the score from their decisive battle in the waters of the fallen Adela Kingdom.
  • An Arm and a Leg: She lost an arm in a battle with Marina after cutting the latter's eye. She swore revenge on Marina for it.
  • Ax-Crazy: She thrives on inflicting pain on any convenient target. Even those who hire her aren't safe from her sadistic urges.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Her hunger for power and money is explained in her dedicated Heavenhold comic. Poor and seemingly abandoned, she had to live with an oppressive man during her childhood who would use a coin toss to decide whether or not she would get a beating at that time. She eventually learned how the world works and turned the tide on both the man and her enemies. His coin-flipping game would become her favorite way to toy with her enemies.
  • Evil Counterpart: To Marina. Both are leaders of ocean-faring fighting forces, but where Marina is an honorable former admiral the despises the Invaders and works to aid the people, Orca is a ruthless mercenary that happily aligns herself with the Invaders as long as the pay is good enough.
  • For the Evulz: Being allowed to torment helpless victims for fun is just as important to her as any monetary payment for a job.
  • Functional Addict: She's addicted to stimulants to feed her obsessive need to avoid sleep.
  • Heads or Tails?: She likes to play with her prey by flipping a coin to decide their fate.
  • Les Collaborateurs: She and her gang are allied with the Invaders. As long as they pay well and give her authority, Orca couldn't care less about them slowly wiping everyone else out.
  • Locked into Strangeness: Her extreme lifestyle has left her with several streaks of premature white in her naturally black hair.
  • Mercenaries: It's in her title. She can, and will, ally with anyone with the fattest cash around. Some notable factions she's worked with are the Adela Navy and the Invaders.
  • Psycho for Hire: She'll work for whoever can pay her fees, but insists on being allowed to indulge her sadistic urges to kill and torment convenient targets. Anyone who tries to interrupt her fun, even her current employer, will become her next target.
  • Revenge Before Reason: She'll go to terrifying extremes to avenge any slight. She allied herself with the Invaders and aids them in destroying an entire country. She doesn't even care that the Invaders will inevitably turn on her when they don't need her anymore. All of this just for a chance to take revenge on one person from said country for daring to stand up to her and beat her after she picked a fight.
  • Ruthless Modern Pirates: Orca's gang are nominally mercenaries, but will just as happily raid innocent vessels as pirates if the profit is big enough.
  • Sadist: She takes obvious pleasure in tormenting her victims.
  • The Sleepless: Orca refuses to sleep because she is always looking to take any job worth the money. She is addicted to stimulants, energy drinks, and coffee to stay awake at all times.
  • Sleep Deprivation: She may be The Sleepless and hopped up on every stimulant she can find, but she is still a human at the end of the day. She shows physical and mental symptoms of sleep deprivation like exhaustion, irritability, perpetual bags around her eyes, and premature hair graying.
  • The Social Darwinist: As far as she's concerned, the world is divided between predators who can do whatever they want and prey who exist to be their playthings.
  • Token Evil Teammate: She and her mercs were hired by Adela's Navy to work with Marina's crew on joint missions. Even back then, Orca was a barely controllable loose cannon. She had to be stopped from torturing captured enemies for her own amusement more than once. It wasn't long before she turned on them on a whim for interrupting her fun.

    Grim Reaper Hana
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/hanagl.png
I'll do my best to not make mistakes...!
Hana is one of the many Grim Reapers employed at After World Inc. In life, she was a young girl with the misfortune of having people that get close to her die at some point in their lives. In death, she is an unlucky Grim Reaper with a penchant for being clumsy. During After World Inc., with the Knight's assistance, she gains the courage to stand on her own two feet and not let her misfortunes get the better of her anymore.
Rarity: 3-star
Species: Ghost
Age: Unknown
Height and weight: 156cm/45kg
Element: Water
Role: Warrior
Exclusive Weapon: Unchained
Voiced by: Yumiri Hanamori (Japanese), Reba Buhr (English)

  • A Day in the Limelight: Stars in the side story After World Inc.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: After the Knight helped her come into her own as a Grim Reaper and save the After World, she swore that she would do whatever she can to return the favor.
  • Born Unlucky: In life, everyone who got close to Hana suffered tragic circumstances and blamed her for it. She eventually internalized this and lost all self-confidence, heavily withdrawing from the world. Even in death, her bad luck haunts her through eternity.
  • Cosmic Plaything: Hana's life was a long series of tragic events and abuses all outside of her control. It only continued until she died at a seemingly young age only to end up the abused victim of her fellow Reapers for her mistakes.
  • Critical Hit: Has a critical hit chance buff as a party buff, helping her allies get more crits.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: Her lack of coordination is a large contributor to her low self-esteem.
  • Cute Ghost Girl: She retains her youthful looks as a spirit.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Her dark past starts with her being the only survivor of a plague in her village. Right after that, she had been pegged as a reaper by the people around her, right up to her death. With her many regrets in life, she couldn't reincarnate and instead opted to work as an actual Reaper, but her standing still wasn't great until the Knight accidentally died and ended up in the afterlife.
  • Don't Fear the Reaper: You'd feel sorry for her unlucky constitution sooner than you'd fear her status as a Reaper. In general, she's a very kind if very timid person who sees ensuring the well-being of the souls she manages as her personal responsibility.
  • Empathic Weapon: Her personal scythe Unchained is a physical manifestation of her willpower. Its power comes from Hana's enlightenment on the responsibility a Grim Reaper must bear.
  • Friendly Ghost: Even as a ghost, Hana still has a good heart.
  • Ghost Amnesia: Defied. After World Inc. employees are expected to drop their memories of their time in the living world so they can focus entirely on their jobs. Hana is one of the few who defy this policy as she can't bring herself to let go of all her old regrets from life.
  • Grew a Spine: With the help of the Knight, her Will of the Wisp companion, and even her idol, Yuna, Hana manages to gain enough confidence to finally stand up to her corrupt superiors and save the After World as a true Grim Reaper in the climax of After World Inc.
  • God Job: Being a Grim Reaper is one of the many professions that a spirit with resentments and no desire to reincarnate can take up once they end up in the After World. Hana is one of those spirits, having taken up the job as she has no desire to return to the living world after her previous life of misfortune.
  • Heroic Self-Deprecation: Suffers from this throughout the majority of After World Inc. She finally gains the confidence to fight against her luckless constitution at the end of the side story, with her obtaining her own personal scythe "Unchained", complete with Cutscene Power to the Max.
  • I Let Gwen Stacy Die: She has many regrets in regard to the people that died just trying to get close to her. The one that weighs on her the most was the tragic death of her dearest friend Jenny who was hit by a car right in front of Hana while trying to get a cake for Hana's birthday.
  • The Idol's Blessing: She idolizes Yuna, one of the more elite Grim Reapers in the After World and the Reaper seen in both Folktale and Lynn's Bento Shop. She gets the chance to work together with Yuna and even gains her respect by the end of the After World Inc side story.
  • Jacob Marley Apparel: She wears the same school uniform in death that she did in life, with only her Reaper cloak added.
  • Living Emotional Crutch: Her friend Jenny was the only person able to convince her to open up to others. Even in the afterlife, Jenny still supports her friend as a will-o-the-wisp and tries to get Hana to stand up for herself.
  • Sinister Scythe: Like all Grim Reapers, Hana was issued a basic scythe as a weapon before she grew enlightened enough to create her unique Unchained scythe. In-game she can use any staff as a melee weapon if no real scythes are available.
  • Will-o'-the-Wisp: Has a will-o'-the-wisp as a dear companion. Later in the side story, said wisp is heavily hinted to be her friend Jenny, one of the only people who chose to get close to her despite her death flags, tragically dying in a car accident on Hana's birthday.
  • You Are Better Than You Think You Are: Her wisp essentially tells her this near the end of After World Inc. This finally breaks her out of her Heroic Self-Deprecation mindset and gives her courage to fight against the side story's final boss and free the Knight and their friends from its clutches.

    Sea Witch Ara
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aragl.png
Hahahah! See? Your wish, it came true!
A denizen of the deep who grants wishes to those who want it, with the catch of it being granted in the most twisted ways imaginable. At one point in time, her havoc prompted Garam and Nari to seal her away from the human realm. It's been many years since then. She's found a way to free herself somehow, and she wants to take revenge on the two fox sages that defeated her...
Rarity: 3-star
Species: Octopus
Age: Unknown
Height and weight: 156cm/188kg
Element: Water
Role: Support
Exclusive Weapon: Bringer of Tranquility
Voiced by: Yukana (Japanese), Sarah Wiedenheft (English)

  • Arch-Enemy: She despises the Fox Sages for sealing her away. Now that she's loose, her main goal is to find them and take revenge on them both.
  • Art Attacker: Her fighting style involves her painting her enemies with black ink using her calligraphy brush (if you obtained her weapon at least, otherwise she uses baskets to paint on her enemies instead).
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: According to her bio, she isn't deliberately screwing over the people whose wishes she grants. As an octopus-like creature, she doesn't understand human desires so she gives them what she thinks they want. That said, her interpretations of their wishes are more grim and unnecessarily cruel than a purely literal description of their words would allow and she is unmoved if her clients express their displeasure with their wishes.
  • Combat Tentacles: She can summon up to two tentacles to help her fight similar to Noxia and her familiar.
  • Exact Words: When she's not the below trope, she's this. During the Dragon Quest collab, she told Popp to wish them back home and to be specific in his mind where to. Popp got distracted by the very soft beds he and the rest had slept in, and so they got transported into the slime farm instead of their world.
  • Jackass Genie: She'll grant the wish of those who come to her, but only in the most twisted, destructive interpretation she can come up with. A notable example is when Kamael ended up approaching her with his own wish: he just wanted to see and experience life from Mayreel's point-of-view as a teenager, but Ara made it so his age regressed much more than he wanted while changing his sex to female for a double whammy of hilarity. Keep in mind that she did this to a god out of all people.
  • The Pen Is Mightier: Her exclusive weapon is her calligraphy brush, which is classified as a basket for some reason.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Long ago, the Fox Sages Nari and Garam defeated Ara in combat and sealed her away to prevent her from causing more destruction. For unknown reasons, the seal was eventually broken and Ara was released upon the world again in the modern era, ready to resume her rampage. Starting with taking her revenge on the Fox Sages.
  • Unscaled Merfolk: More of a subversion. Ara's humanoid body and octopus body are two separate entities, with the octopus one being the main body. Her human form was borrowed from a young girl who was made to be a sacrifice to the Sea Witch by villagers that believed their plague problem is caused by said witch needing a tribute.

    Little Android AA72
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aa72gl.png
Mission complete! Your next orders, quickly...!
JP artwork
A so-called "defective" child-like android with a time bomb inside her. The events of When You Wish Upon a Star make her desire to experience what it means to be alive before her demise. It's later revealed that she isn't a defective model at all, but the first and only unit of a whole new android model series called the Amusement Android series, "AA". She was designed to be a fireworks android that only needs to do her job during the summer, earning a few of the Heavenhold androids' envy.
Rarity: 3-star
Species: Robot
Age: 1
Height and weight: 145cm/50kg
Element: Water
Role: Ranged
Exclusive Weapon: Blue Spear
Voiced by: Yui Ishikawa (Japanese), Baraka May (English)

  • Awesome, but Impractical: She's considered this in-universe. Loraine intended AA72 to be the first of an entire series of Amusement Androids. Unfortunately, the costs of building the first successful model and fixing a critical design flaw were far higher than expected so the AA line was discontinued after AA72.
  • A Day in the Limelight: The central character of the short story When You Wish Upon a Star, shared with Yuze.
  • Birds of a Feather: She gets along well with KAI as a fellow energetic child android with aspirations to be a hero.
  • Cursed with Awesome: Her role as an Amusement Android makes it so that she only has to perform her duties once a year unlike her other android "sisters". The problem is that she prefers having work to do, so she gets down in the dumps whenever she goes back to her very long so-called "vacations". The other androids like MK. 99 are jealous of her getting to slack off for much of the year though.
  • Expy: To Fate/Grand Order's Jeanne Alter Santa Lily. Both are seasonal units, are little kids in appearance and attitude, and had a risk of disappearing by the end of their story. But while Jeanne Lily was legitimately in danger of disappearing in a Puff of Logic because of the Holy Grail's rules, AA72 was legitimately in danger because of a bad case of Poor Communication Kills that could actually have made her self-destruct if her cooling system wasn't fixed just in the nick of time by Loraine, and could've easily been avoided if MK. 99 actually explained to her her specific role in the beach festival.
  • Foreshadowing: As her timer ticks closer to zero during the climax of When You Wish Upon a Star, she finally identifies the materials inside her that would make her explode: potassium nitrate, sulfur, and gunpowder. This concoction is actually what makes up a firework, and should clue in knowledgeable players about what AA72's purpose actually is before it's fully laid out a few minutes later.
  • Fun with Acronyms: Her serial code "AA" actually stands for "Amusement Android".
  • Hero-Worshipper: She deeply admires Yuze for saving her life and teaching her to live like a normal kid. She wants to be just like her "big sis" Yuze someday.
  • Hopeless with Tech: Ironically, she has little to no understanding of technology. This misunderstanding is part of what leads to the problems in her short story as she doesn't realize that "explosives" within her were part of her design as a fireworks robot. More humorously, she also has no idea how to operate a smartphone.
  • The Immune: In World 16. While Camilla was able to subvert all other active androids by hacking Heavenhold itself, Stella was left unaffected. As a newly designed android, she wasn't integrated into Heavenhold's systems, inadvertently saving her from being reprogrammed like the older models.
  • Improbable Weapon User: Her signature weapons are water balloons and a squirt gun shaped like a cartoon swordfish.
  • It Was a Gift: Yuze gives her the whistle that Yuze's been using as a lifeguard at the end of When You Wish Upon a Star. You can see her wearing it around her neck in her illustration.
  • Last of Their Kind: The first and only Amusement Android to be manufactured, as Loraine realized that they were far too expensive to mass produce after making the first one.
  • Machine Monotone: Talks in the same manner as Mk. 99 and the other Heavenhold androids. Also helps that she shares the same Japanese voice actress as Mk. 99, Yui Ishikawa.
  • Meaningful Rename: In When You Wish Upon a Star, Yuze gives her the name "Stella", taken from "Starlight Beach" when they were asked for AA72's name to receive a prize from the stamp collection event they took part in. She expresses delight in receiving such a name since androids only go by their serial numbers, and would sometimes add it to her name when she introduces herself. The two names are used interchangeably in later story events with her.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Her misunderstanding her purpose as a fireworks android almost gets her to self-destruct in When You Wish Upon a Star. Can't fault her though, MK. 99 didn't clarify to her that her role was to deploy fireworks at the end of the Beach Festival, and not just explode because she's "a defective android model needed to be disposed of". Also didn't help that Loraine and the other androids kept chasing her down like she was some sort of fugitive instead of just telling her that they only wanted to bring her in for emergency repairs.
  • Really Was Born Yesterday: AA72 is less than a year old when she makes her debut.
  • Ridiculously Human Robot: She looks, acts, and even thinks exactly like a normal child and has no visible machine parts. If not for her stilted speech pattern, she would be indistinguishable from a young human girl.
  • Right for the Wrong Reasons: AA72 thinks she is doomed because Loraine put a bomb in her body for being "defective". There never was a time bomb, but she was very close to exploding thanks to her malfunctioning cooling units nearly setting off her internal fireworks supply.
  • Robot Kid: Unlike other Androids built as adults, she physically and psychologically resembles a child about the same as as the Little Princess.
  • School Swimsuit: Wears the traditional one in contrast to her "big sis" Yuze's competition swimsuit.
  • Superpowered Robot Meter Maids: Despite being designed to be a party entertainer/walking fireworks launcher, AA72 can take to battle with any other hero. She admits that she's weak compared to a true combat android, however.
  • Verbal Tic: In the Japanese dub, she has the tendency to end her sentences with "desu".
  • Water Guns and Balloons: Her personal weapon "Blue Spear" is the fish-shaped water gun that she wanted and won in the stamp collecting contest in When You Wish Upon a Star.
  • Why Am I Ticking?: Her short story is motivated by Yuze's attempts to prevent her from exploding.
  • Workaholic: Unlike most other Heavenhold androids, AA72 actually enjoys fulfilling her function and dislikes downtime. Unfortunately, she only gets to perform her function once a year, forcing her to spend nearly all her time on "vacation" with nothing to really do. The fact that she has to deal with the jealousy of the MK androids for her "cushy" life does not help her sense of satisfaction. Lorraine gives her Good Android Lists to keep her busy in her off-season, which the little android happily tackles.
  • You Are Number 6: Played with. Her real name is "AA72" but she gets a Meaningful Rename from Yuze as "Stella". She can be called by both names, but she prefers the latter.

    Slayer Andras
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/andrasgl.png
"Ahaha! I'm feeling generous! I'll spare you!"
One of the four Demon Gods, alongside Bellial, Crosselle, and Pymon. Due to a contract with Queen Lilith, she is housed within the body of a very fanatic Demon girl named Celine, only partially controlling her body (much to Celine's dismay). She is noted to be very bloodthirsty, always looking for prey to hunt and behead, and would sometimes badmouth Lilith behind her back.
Rarity: 3-star
Species: Demon God
Age: Unknown
Height and weight: 164cm/48kg
Element: Water
Role: Ranged
Exclusive Weapon: Head Hunter
Voiced by: Noguchi Ruriko (Japanese), Xanthe Huynh (English)

  • Ax-Crazy: She's vicious even by the standards of the Demon Gods. Without constant supervision, she'd spend all her time looking for new prey to stalk and slaughter.
  • The Berserker: She's always looking for an excuse to slaughter convenient victims. Lilith has to keep her on an especially short leash to prevent her from causing constant bloodbaths.
  • Blood Knight: Loves seeking out fights and hunting those she considers her prey. She tends to get distracted on missions while she looks for prey to stalk.
  • Boxed Crook: Like the other Demon Gods, she's only allowed any degree of freedom at the discretion of the former archenemies.
  • Dragons Are Demonic: Like the other Demon Gods, she can temporarily shapeshift into a demonic dragon. She rarely does so as it's too much of a strain for a mortal body to handle for long.
  • Demonic Possession: She's a demonic spirit inhabiting a living demon girl, but only has partial control over the body.
  • Evil Is Deathly Cold: She's one of the most evil entities alive and uses ice magic to indulge her love of making her enemies suffer.
  • Evil Is Not a Toy: It is said that during the Demon World Reunification War hundreds of years ago, a heretofore unnamed organization had resorted to sacrificing thousands of children to reawaken Andras and use her power to win the war. She was not amused, and killed them all on the spot.
  • Fire, Ice, Lightning: Andras represents the "ice" portion of an elemental trio with Pymon and Crosselle.
  • How the Mighty Have Fallen: She was once one of the rulers of the world, but is now a glorified attack dog for her archenemies.
  • An Ice Person: She has dominion over ice and sometimes uses it to enhance the thrill of her kills.
  • Loony Fan: Celine is a huge fan of the Demon Gods and was thrilled to have the chance to effectively become one. Even Andras herself is a little unnerved by the depths of Celine's obsession after possessing her body.
  • Magically-Binding Contract: The contract she made with Lilith allows her to take a body, but severely limits her power and forces her to obey Lilith's orders no matter what.
  • Make an Example of Them: In 18-16, when the group of Saul citizens do not run for the hills upon the very sight of the three Demon Gods, she actually pleads Crosselle to allow her to chop one of them up to remind them just who they are dealing with.
  • Non-Indicative Name: Clearly classified as a "ranged" character, but her attack patterns look more melee than ranged.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Celine, the original owner of their body, is a huge fan of the Demon Gods. She was not only willing but eager to give her body to house one of them. She's outright disappointed that Lilith didn't allow Andras to completely consume her soul or engage in as much slaughter as she was hoping to see.
  • Petal Power: She likes to attack her enemies with giant flowers made of deadly ice shards.
  • Power Limiter: Her contract suppresses the vast majority of her powers, making her strong enough to be useful in battle, but weak enough to defeat relatively easily if she ever tried to rebel.
  • Powers via Possession: Celine was fairly normal by demon standards, but Andras possessing her has granted her a portion of the goddess' magic, enhancing her body far beyond its original limitations.
  • Red Right Hand: She has heterochromia as a representation of her and Celine sharing partial control over their body.
  • Sharing a Body: Like Crosselle and Pymon, she inhabits the body of a living demon woman. Unlike her counterparts, she isn't the dominant personality of the pair: Celine has just as much control over their body as she does. This isn't much of a hindrance as Celine is usually happy to help Andras in her pursuits.
  • Sinister Scythe: Her weapon is a giant scythe aptly named "Head Hunter".
  • Toxic Friend Influence: Normally, the souls that originally held the bodies hosting the Demon Gods act to curb their worst impulses. Celine, however, does the exact opposite: she's such a fangirl of Andras that she actively encourages all of Andras' homicidal tendencies, making her even harder to control than she would normally be.
  • Villain Takes an Interest: Celine's inexplicable adulation of the demon god was soon reciprocated by her, representing the first time in Andras' life in which she took an interest in mere mortals as opposed to higher beings.
  • Undying Loyalty: Celine towards Andras. She was willing to hand her body over to said Demon God despite knowing that it would result in her soul being fully consumed in the process, no questions asked. She seems more disappointed than anything that Lilith prevented this from happening.

    White Snow
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/whitekidgl.png
"You were just like this when we first met, friendly I mean."
A mysterious horned werewolf child that appeared one winter day in Heavenhold, who the Little Princess befriended and hung out with for a day. It's actually the White Beast that had its wish to be closer to the Princess granted by the benevolent Bari.
Rarity: 3-star
Species: Wolf
Age: 3
Height and weight: 143cm/35kg
Element: Water
Role: Warrior
Exclusive Weapon: Snow Maker
Voiced by: Fujidera Minori (Japanese), Courtney Lin (English)

  • A Day in the Limelight: Shares the spot with the Princess for the Heavenhold Comic "A Little Festival Miracle".
  • Ambiguous Gender: Just as people thought the White Beast was male based on a particular scene in World 11 Nightmare, it's given a human form that doesn't exactly express its true gender, leaning towards a more androgynous appearance with a dainty body type that may either be a boy's or a girl's. It doesn't help that the bio for the character refers to them as "it", adding to the resulting confusion.
  • Become a Real Boy: The White Snow is actually the White Beast, who was given a humanoid form for a day by Bari when it approached her and wished to enjoy the festive snowy day with the Princess.
  • Dub Name Change: Currently the only case of a name change from Korean to English. In Korean, its name is "White Kid" (and the English translation for said version keeps said name), but the official Western English localization changed it to "White Snow", presumably to avoid potentially accidental political statements.
  • Snowball Fight: Its attack animations, particularly its exclusive weapon skill, invoke this. In said skill, it creates a massive snowball and rolls it toward its enemy.

    Sea Vendor Sia
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sia_no_bg.png
"If you want a lot of regulars, you have to get along with everyone."
Rarity: 3-star
Species: Mermaid
Age: 136
Height and weight: 172cm/65kg
Element: Water
Role: Support
Exclusive Weapon: Ocean's Tear
Voiced by: Marika Kohno (Japanese), Kayli Mills (English)

  • Attack the Tail: Mentioned in one of her injury lines.
    "Ouch! My tail!"
  • Cute Monster Girl: She's a precious mermaid girl who's as sweet as her appearance implies.
  • Intrepid Merchant: Sia travels across the world while collecting and selling goods, especially rare items.
  • Little Bit Beastly: Sia has a long fish tail where her legs should be. She also has Ear Fins.
  • Nice Girl: She's an absolute sweetheart who feels delighted when people buy her goods and helps the local townsfolk with their daily problems. The townsfolk are so moved by her kindness that they built a bigger shopping cart for her, a gift that Sia feels immense gratitude for.
  • Our Mermaids Are Different: Aside from having Ear Fins and a pink tail, Sia is otherwise a standard mermaid.
