Enigma

Ultimate ???

Voiced by: Japaria

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/enigma.PNG

  • All-Loving Hero: He's willing to stick up for anyone in need of defending and reaches out to those in emotional pain.
  • Amnesiac Hero: He's the only person in the group who doesn't remember his talent.
  • Best Friend: Had one up until High School, which fell apart in later years because they both engaged in Delinquent activities that got worse and worse, culminating in his friend doing drugs like cocaine, which drove Enigma away. The Player can convince him to try reconciling in Cabin Confiding.
  • Blatant Lies: He claims to "not have much of a Sweet Tooth", while staring intently at and drooling over cheesecakes.
  • The Casanova: Downplayed. He suggests that he was a bit of a lady killer in school, as stated below, but he only really displays this kind of behavior when he introduces himself to Rox, with the both of them doing some back-and-forth flirting before getting to business.
    • In Cabin Confiding with Rock, Enigma asks the geologist if girls like puns and, after Rock says he knows a few who do, he seems to seriously consider learning a few. He then, if you choose the wrong option, gives Rock a drill course on flirting with girls.
    • Again in Cabin Confiding, she makes a bet with Rox over a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors; if she wins, he tells her his most embarrassing memory, but if he wins she owes him one date.
  • Chick Magnet: Implied. When Cross questions how willing he is to take risks, Enigma responds by stating that the biggest risk he ever took was turning down a Love Confession from the most popular girl in school. Then there's Scarlet and Rox displaying clear attraction to him.
  • The Confidant: Becomes this in Cabin Confiding, where everyone opens up to him about their respective experiences with some form of "love".
  • Cool Bike: Enigma owns his own motorbike and enjoys riding it across the city.
  • Curtains Match the Window: His blue eyes match his hair.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He comes off as sarcastic and blunt when the opportunity rises.
  • Delinquent: When he was younger.
  • Disappeared Dad: His dad died when he was still young, leaving his mother to take care of him.
  • The Empath: He can sense when others are suffering from emotional pain and is willing to help them out.
  • The Gadfly: He's a bit of a Deadpan Snarker, and he's quick to poke fun at Pocket when he accidentally scares him and Pocket tries to deny it.
    • In his Cabin Confiding with Grisp, he notices the Survivalist there and starts fawning over the comfort of the Cabin, making progressively harsher comments insulting nature, getting on Grisp's nerves until he snaps and yells at him. Enigma also gets the option to encourage him to try breaking the window and swimming to freedom, likely knowing he wouldn't be able to.
  • Et Tu, Brute?: Implied When he remembers his kidnapping, he seems to recall his boss at his gas station job calling him to cover a shift, and when he arrived he saw him talking to a suspicious figure and barking orders after he's knocked out from behind.
  • Good Smoking, Evil Smoking: A flashback in "Chapter 1 Episode 3" suggests that he smoked in High School, and took advantage of the fact that he was Younger Than He Looks to buy cigarettes.
  • Idiot Hair: He has a tiny one at the top of his head.
  • In-Series Nickname:
    • To his displeasure, he gets called "Blueberry" by Grisp.
    • Scarlet calls him "Eni".
  • I Work Alone: Unlike guys like Makoto or Kaede who run on The Power of Friendship, Enigma is a bit more cautious and mistrusting like Hajime. When he gets knocked out in Chapter 1, he denies wanting Rock's help investigating it since there's a possibility that Rock did it and simply pretended to find him.
  • Leaning on the Fourth Wall: After completing all the other events in Cabin Confiding, the player will have one final event with him.
  • Love Triangle: He and his Best Friend ended up liking the same girl, turning them into Rivals before both decided to give up on her.
  • Momma's Boy: Was raised by a single mother who doted on him his entire life. It's Implied that his My Beloved Smother attitude dropped when he overheard a phone conversation where she expresses the stress being a single mother is putting her through and mentions their financial troubles, prompting him to get a part time job at the store he bought cigarettes' at to help.
  • My Beloved Smother: Ever since his father died, his mother has been constantly involved in his life and calling him at random points when he's with friends. This led to his Delinquent behavior while he was in school.
  • Nobody Calls Me "Chicken"!: In Cabin Confiding with Rissi, if he chooses to suggest letting Yaxi and Grisp deal with the mastermind, Rissi tries to sympathize with him for being scared, even comfortingly patting his head. He finds this really humiliating instead of comforting.
  • Ordinary High-School Student: Subverted. Enigma's bio card reveals that he was always at the top of his class when it came to academics.
  • The Protagonist
  • Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: He's quick to flee from Grisp, Yaxi, and Rock after their introductions due to being annoyed by their respective quirks.
  • Ship Tease: Gets some with Rox, with her calling him "easy on the eyes" when she invites him to explore with her and Rissi, and the two engage in some playful flirting when they officially meet in what's arguably the introduction Enigma enjoys the most, aside from Corza, and suceeding interactions have some casual flirting. And while he's not completely trusting of everyone yet, the idea of mistrusting her seems to rub him the wrong way, this will never go anywhere however as Rox is the first victim.
  • Supreme Chef: Noted to be a good cook, and can make a good coffee if he says so himself, with Rox admitting that she could rival her brother's. It's likely because of his multiple part-time jobs.
  • Sweet Tooth: He enjoys hoarding candy. Though, he's rather embarrassed by how crazy he gets over sweets.
  • Tsundere: Platonically to his mother. A flashback hints that he treated her rather coldly while he was in school, but he admits to Rock that she's possibly the most important person in his life.
  • Too Dumb to Live: In Cabin confiding, he tries to cheer Yaxi up by challenging her to a fight. This goes as well as you expect.
  • Trauma Button: The reason for his dislike of horses is because one time when he and his mom went horse-riding, he was flung off his horse into a pile of horse-shit. In Cabin Confiding when Scarlet brings up the idea of horse-riding for a first date, he ends up panicking, thinking he can still smell it on his clothes and makes a beeline out of there.
  • When He Smiles: After some of the group has a small drinking party after the first motive is announced, Rox noted that he looked like he was having fun and told him to smile more.
Rox: Smile more often. I liked seeing this side of you tonight.
  • Workaholic: To help support his mother, he works multiple part-time jobs.

    Cross

Cross

Ultimate Entrepreneur

Voiced by: Elliot CM

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cross.PNG

  • The Ace: He is known for having exceptional talents. What those talents are is still unknown.
  • Beneath the Mask: The others speculate that the cold, business-like man demeanor he presents is a front to hide how scared he is.
  • Berserk Button: Cabin Confiding suggests he has a dislike for people wanting to be friends with him or enter a relationship with him for his money.
  • Create Your Own Villain: His bio card that he's created countless enemies all over the globe on his quest for riches.
  • Curtains Match the Window: His eyes match his hair.
  • Cruel to Be Kind: His decision to open the red door and reveal the two mystery corpses to everyone is his attempt at getting everyone to accept the reality of their situation.
  • The Cynic: He's not very trusting.
  • Daddy's Girl: Gender inverted. He was close to his father, and it's Implied that his murder is part of what turned him into the ruthless businessman he is now.
  • The Determinator: Nothing has nor ever will stop Cross from achieving his goals.
  • Expy: His appearance, talent, and attitude to an extent makes him similar to Byakuya Togami. Though, one could argue that Byakuya's actions and quotes are more sadistic and cruel when compared with Cross's, who is just trying to get others to look at the situation realistically.
  • Friend to All Living Things: The only hobby he enjoys is taking care of his many dogs.
  • Greed: If something guarantees him an absolute profit, Cross will definitely try his hand at it.
  • Hated by All: His cold attitude and panicked slapping of Rox earns him the ire of the rest of the students, with Pocket being especially vocal about getting back at him for the latter and suspecting him of attacking and knocking out Enigma.
  • Hates Being Touched: Instinctively slaps Rox when her "Reason You Suck" Speech culminates in her placing a hand on him, with Enigma noticing that he became especially nervous when she started approaching him.
  • Hates Small Talk: Twin lampshades in their Social Butterfly Event together that Cross's always discussing serious topics.
  • Heroes Love Dogs: One of the few hobbies he has is Dog Breeding, and he personally owns a German Shepard and Husky named Poppo and Meeka. His love of dogs seems to be due to their loyalty.
  • It's Personal: He wishes to personally find his father's murderer.
  • Jerkass Has a Point:
  • Lack of Empathy: In his first free time, he admits that he's never bothered with letting other people stop him from achieving his goals. At least not since his father was murdered.
    • He also sees no issues about interrogating Corza on what his punishment was, despite his and the others clear discomfort in discussing it. This earns him a "Reason You Suck" Speech from Rox.
  • Pet the Dog: Despite his seemingly cold demeanor, he's a dog lover and in Cabin Confiding, he expresses concern about whether or not his pet dogs, Poppo and Meeka, are being taken care of in his absence.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: He wears a fancy suit, befitting his powerful gentleman image.
  • Thrill Seeker: He enjoys taking risks to achieve his goals.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: Cashew nuts are his favorite snack, a bowl of them being in his room.
  • Workaholic: Apart from taking care of his dogs, his life is dedicated to working.

    Rock

Rock

Ultimate Geologist

Voiced by: Zer0

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rock.PNG

Rock, otherwise known as "The Pun King" by his friends and family, is a bright and positive young man who yearns for the happiness of those around him.

Rock grew up in a village where famine was the norm. But he continues to stand back up, time and time again. This experience and more have given him an unwavering resolve.

Through his young adulthood, Rock was taught many things, but there is one lesson he carries with him to this day. He was taught that when you place your trust in others, they too, will eventually place trust in you.

Rock's hobbies include collecting gizmos, gadgets, and trading cars.

  • All Love Is Unrequited: Cabin Confiding reveals there was a girl he liked who enjoyed his puns, but he tried asking her out she turned him down and asked if they could stay friends.
  • All-Loving Hero: He's a bright and friendly young man who wants everyone to be just as happy as he is.
  • Collector of the Strange: He enjoys collecting gizmos, gadgets, and trading cards.
  • Curtains Match the Window: He has brown hair and brown eyes.
  • Does Not Like Spam: He dislikes BBQ sauce.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: Downplayed. He's a nice enough guy, but his tendency to make puns tends to grate on everyone's nerves.
  • In-Series Nickname: Known as "The Pun King" by his friends and family.
  • Meaningful Name: His codename is fitting for someone who can stand strong with a smile on his face against a world of poverty and suffering. Also because of his talent as the Ultimate Geologist.
  • Nice Guy: He's an incredibly kind-hearted person who genuinely wants the best for everyone.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: During his free time event, he seems to briefly shut down when "family" is brought up.
  • The Pollyanna: A gender-flipped example. Despite his poor background, Rock continues to endure it all with a smile on his face.
  • Poverty Food: Apparently came from a village where famine was the norm.
  • Power of Trust: A firm believer in the power of trust. He knows that as long as he places his trust in others, they, in turn, will trust him.
  • Pungeon Master: He loves to tell punny jokes, much to the annoyance of the others.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: He loves cheesecake.

    Anon

Anon

Voiced by: Ryan Pratt

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/anon.PNG

This man is a true conumdrum. Not alot is known about his past. Perhaps this is simply because he likes to keep to himself, or maybe there is another reason entirerly.

Dubbed the "Non-Entity", Anon wears the name like a suit of armor. He feels that being invisible is his best bet at making it through life.

Anon carries himself with no real care for his health or appearance.

His hobbies are unknown.

  • Abusive Parents: Implied. In his words, his parents "don't give a damn about him".
  • Expy: Appearance-wise, he brings to mind a more somber Nagito Komaeda.
  • Idiot Hair: He has a long one that droops to the side.
  • In-Series Nickname: His other name is the "Non-Entity".
  • In the Hood: He wears a black and white hoodie.
  • Jerkass: Not as blatant as Moraiteru and Cancel due to his quietness and being relatively distant from the cast, but he occasionally makes rude and blunt remarks towards others, even making a cruel jab towards Rox in a Social Butterfly Event.
  • Meaningful Name: His name is short for anonymous which means no name or identity. Befitting for a guy whose entire identity is a total mystery.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: When the subject of his friend comes up in his Free Time Events, Enigma notes that he appears sadder than normal.
  • Prematurely Grey-Haired: He has bleach white hair and a miserable look on his face.
  • The Quiet One: He prefers to stay quiet.
    • In Cabin Confiding, Enigma is also honestly having trouble figuring out what to say to him because of this. He even cites this as the reason why everyone has trouble trusting him.
  • Shrinking Violet: Anon also prefers to stay in the background.
  • The Spook: Has less information about him compared to the other students. It also doesn't help that he barely has a presence among the group because of his quiet personality.
  • Troll: If Enigma suggests a game of charades during Cabin Confiding, his first "charade" is to wave goodbye and leave.

    Pocket

Pocket

Ultimate Baseball Star

Voiced by: Josh Portillo

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pocket.PNG

Pocket is the self-proclaimed All-Star. All-Star of what exactly? We aren't really sure. This is what he told us to say.

Although his appearance might suggest otherwise, Pocket is as common as common can get. He was born and raised under an average, everyday family. Pocket's favorite hobby is arguing with people online. He claims everyone is "jelly" of his talents. This sparks much drama across the web due to his outspoken personality.

P.S. After showing his bio to Pocket, he told us it was "lame af" in a response email. He told us to write this at the end.

"Hey my soon-to-be fans! Never forget this face, because it's about to go down in history! Watch as I become the greatest man that ever lived! #DontMessWithTheAllStar."

  • All Men Are Perverts: When Scarlet starts making her way to the gym, he and Yaxi take the time to appreciate her Hartman Hips.
  • Bad Liar: When Enigma makes fun of him for getting spooked, he denies it and then claims that he was saying that he was scared of the fish in the swimming pool.
  • Cannot Talk to Women: In his Cabin Confiding Event, he confesses that he gets nervous when talking to girls. Enigma's hardly surprised.
  • Chivalrous Pervert: The guy is an unashamed pervert, ogling Scarlet's Hartman Hips when everyone first meets, and when Enigma asks to give him a pick-up line, the first one to come to mind is about him getting an erection. That being said, he's a decent guy behind that and the Jerk Jock attitude. He's also especially outraged when Cross slaps Rox in a panic.
    • He's a huge dating sim nut, owning 40 and still collecting.
  • Does Not Like Spam: He dislikes white chocolate.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: He doesn't take too kindly to Cancel treating him like a dog.
  • Dumb Jock: He's not the brightest bulb in the bunch...
    • In Cabin Confiding, Enigma tricks him into thinking a ghost was haunting him. If you choose the wrong options when he reveals that it was him, it completely goes over Pocket's head and he asks Enigma if he saw the ghost too.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: He's not a big fan of his codename, not thinking it's cool.
  • Emo Teen: Was apparently one in High School, thinking it'd make him popular with girls. Instead, it just made him a laughing stock among them and made him nervous when talking to them.
  • Exhausted Eye Bags: He has prominent dark shadows under his eyes.
  • The Gadfly: He enjoys provoking others online and getting into arguments.
  • Has a Type: Physically speaking, he's Implied to prefer things likes hips or thighs over breasts. Not that it stops him from enjoying both.
  • I Need a Freaking Drink: He starts off his Cabin Confiding looking for something to drink.
  • It's All About Me: Pocket believes that he's better than everyone and plans to take the world by storm with his abilities.
  • Jerk Jock: Given that his talent is athletic in nature. The jerk part applies since he thinks very highly of himself and thinks that everyone is "jelly" of his talents.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: He is a gadfly with a very big ego, but he genuinely was genuinely concerned for the others when he saw how freaked out they were by the two dead bodies.
  • Jive Turkey: Pocket likes to use online lingo in his speech.
  • Lovable Coward: He gets spooked very easily.
  • Ordinary College Student: Despite his appearance, Pocket is an average kid who grew up in a normal family.
  • Pet the Dog: He's quick to call out Cross on showing everyone the corpses of the two missing Ultimate Students, displaying clear concern for the others.
  • Ship Tease: Surprisingly with Cancel. At one point when talking with Enigma, he notes that there's likely a good heart beneath her normal, cold demeanor.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: He certainly has a foul mouth on him.
  • Unmanly Secret: According to Cabin Confiding, he still wets the bed.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: The one thing he dislikes in his bio card.

    Corza

Corza

Ultimate Game Designer

Voiced by: Dathromin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/corza.PNG

  • Awesome by Analysis: He instantly picked up on Monokuma's spear attack by scanning the room to look for potential danger as the bear spoke.
  • Brutal Honesty: When Enigma tries to reassure him not remembering the details of his talent being suspicious by mentioning how he can't even remember what his talent is, he bluntly states that it is worse than his situation.
  • Gut Feeling: Corza tends to rely on his intuition when it comes to making decisions.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: The second installment of the Sacrifice Game has him being forced to beat a game of Rule's design and input a certain design code, with abistence "punishing" him while finishing the game and putting in the code wrong would kill the others. He knows very well that Rule's Laser-Guided Amnesia would prevent him from properly coding it, so he chooses to abstain. Fortunately, the "punishment" wasn't death like everyone assumed
  • Kind Hearted Cat Lover: The kindness aspect has yet to be shown but his bio card states that he loves cats. There's a stray that often visits his home that he's dubbed "Merry", and he worries that with him gone, she'll end up starving due to the possibility of being a stray.
  • The Leader: Setting up to be this, being quick to remind the others to follow the killing game's rules to avoid being killed and being quick to take charge. Grisp even decides to consult the "Nymphs" on whether or not he should lead them.
  • Neat Freak: He has an obsession with cleanliness and will go out of his way to eliminate any dirt.
  • Nice Guy: Very straight-faced, but he's pretty friendly to Enigma and the two quickly get along.
  • Not So Stoic:
    • He breaks down laughing after Rock tries, and fails, to get the other to laugh at his jokes.
    • He's clearly disturbed by the dead bodies of the missing Ultimate Students.
    • He gets really pissed off when Rule shows himself for the first time.
    • During the drinking party, he ends up legitimately laughing at everyone's reactions to Rock's pun.
  • Secret-Keeper: Like Rox, he appears to have some knowledge or history with one of the Sacrifice Game organizers, which in his case is Rule.
  • The Smart Guy: He's one of the smartest kids in the cast.
  • The Stoic: Is described as calm and sharp-minded.
  • Workaholic: In Cabin Confiding, Enigma is quick to peg him as the type to put work before girls, which Corza quickly confirms. This led to him turning down the Love Confession of a girl he liked, something he deeply regrets, especially after she met and got engaged to someone else.
  • When He Smiles: Platonic example. Enigma notes that they don't see Corza smile often in Cabin Confiding, so it's especially notable when he does.

    Twin

Twin

Ultimate Voice Actor

Voiced by: Darius T. Jackson

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/twin.PNG

His hunger is as big as his heart.

Twin prioritizes food over anything else. Although a single man, food is his one true love. No woman, nor man, can take his nutritional delicacies away from him. His 'chicken sandwich' is his wife and husband respectively.

Twin uses the word "me" instead of "I" when conversing with others. Why this seems to be a personal preference according to the media, but Twin has gone on record to state that he can't help himself.

Twin's hobbies include dancing to catchy 80's songs and traveling through time. Although we are certain that the latter is a lie.

  • Animal Motifs: Twin's constant hunger mixed with his energy and tendency to freak out make him similar to a squirrel.
  • Big Damn Heroes: In the prologue, he saves Rissi from being impaled by one of Monokuma's spears.
  • Big Eater: He loves to eat and makes it his number one priority.
    • According to him, the longest diet he's ever been one lasted an hour.
  • Buffy Speak: Downplayed. He can form a proper coherent sentence, but he often says "Me" instead of "I". He's able to avoid doing this when using his talent however.
  • Cloud Cuckoo Lander: He's a bit... eccentric. When Enigma first meets him, he introduces himself as "The Ultimate Chicken Sandwich"
  • Comfort Food: The reason for his Big Eater status is this, which he took up after losing his pet dog in an accident.
  • Cool Shades: He owns a pair of purple shades.
  • Curtains Match the Window: He has arctic blue hair and eyes.
  • Determinator: In his own words, "When me gets around to doing something, me doesn't let anything stop me!". When he first got into voice acting, he got rejected for roles multiple times but managed to land a part in a small project after two years practice, paving the way for his career.
  • Good Old Ways: Downplayed. He likes listening to 80s music as it allows him to "travel through time".
  • Idiot Hair: He has two ahoges on his head, one big and one small.
  • Keet: Out of all the male students, Twin is certainly the most energetic.
  • Manchild: Twin's behavior makes him similar to a child.
  • Man of a Thousand Voices: As the Ultimate Voice Actor, this is a given.
  • Ship Tease: After he saves her in the prologue, he and Rissi end up bonding really quickly. Enigma can't help but Lampshade how they've gotten so close so fast.
Enigma: How the hell are these two so close in such a short amount of time?
    • On his part, Twin admits it's because most of his friends only like him for his talent and the prestige it gets him, so it's nice to have to someone who genuinly wants to be his friend.
  • Shout-Out: Being a voice actor, he makes a few.
    • In his first Free Time Event, he imitates and quotes Kanji Tatsumi from Persona 4.
  • Teens Love Shopping: Online shopping to be exact.
  • Third-Person Person: He refers to himself in the first person. According to his bio card, he always refers to himself as "Me" and thinks of it as a quirk that he can't help himself with.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Chicken Sandwiches.
  • Troll: When Rule shows up to make an announcement, he uses his voice-acting talent to mimic his speech, only stopping when Rule threatens to kill him.
  • You Remind Me of X: Admits to Yaxi that part of his attachment to Rissi is because she reminds him of someone.

    Grisp

Grisp

Ultimate Survivalist

Voiced by: Joshua Waters

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/grisp.PNG

There are many words to describe this man, but one word which is used more than any other is eccentric. Grisp can often be seen talking to himself, or as he puts it, "Consulting with the deities of nature".

This obsession with nature has caused him to despise those who were raised in an urban location. Because of his own beliefs, Grisp views man-made creations as a sin.

Growing up surrounded by nothing but nature, Grisp has become an extraordinary human. His sense of smell and hearing is heightened immensely in comparison to that of an average person.

One of Grisp's hobbies include training with the many Gods of nature. His most common training partners are Actaeon, the Greek God of the wilderness, and Shiva, the Hindu God of destruction (or so he says). Other hobbies range from soaring the skies on tree trunks as a means of fast travel, and racing Cheetahs.

  • Affectionate Nickname: He refers to everyone based on what fruit their hair color reminds him of.
  • Ambiguously Brown: The sole dark-skinned student of the cast. His exact ethnicity is unclear as he makes references to different gods/concepts from different cultures. Such as Papatuanuka from the Maori culture or Shiva from Hinduism.
  • The Big Guy: Downplayed he's not that big but he has the most muscle definition out of all the male students, even Pocket refers to him a this.
  • Blessed with Suck: Apparently has a amazing sense of sense, at the expense of a weak sense taste. Rox describes this as "super impressive and super sucky"
  • Catchphrase Insult: His go-to insult is "uncultured swine".
  • Cloudcuckoolander: He’s...special.
  • Comically Missing the Point: He has an odd tendency of doing this. When Yaxi states that he smells like monkey poop, he angrily corrects her stating that it's tiger feces
  • Composite Character: He seems to be a fusion of Yasuhiro Hagakure and Gundam Tanaka. As stated in the Suspiciously Similar Substitute entry below, Grisp shares several similarities to Yasuhiro's physical appearance. He also has Gundam's Large Ham personality and condescending attitude towards others. He's also a big dork that openly calls out to spirits and deities just like the two of them.
  • Condescending Compassion: His attempt at comforting Yaxi when they lose to a wall is telling her that she was too weak to destroy it. She responds in kind.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: To a degree. In his first Free Time Event, he states that he once witnessed a mysterious figure disposing of a body near his habitat.
  • Crafted from Animals: The cloth covering half of his upper body is a tiger pelt and he has an animal tooth for a necklace.
  • Fantastic Racism: Downplayed. He gets along well enough with the others, but he states to have a dislike for "city dwellers."
  • Messy Hair: His hairstyle can be considered long, wild and unkempt. He even has twigs and flowers on top of his head.
  • Momma's Boy: Grisp reveals that he has a mother in the prologue and he both loves and respects her.
  • Nature Lover: He grew up surrounded by nature and cherishes it with all his heart.
  • New Technology Is Evil: He holds great disdain for anything modern and man-made.
  • The Nicknamer: Gives the others nickanmes based on his hair color in relation from things from his forest.
    • Enigma = Blueberry
    • Morateiru = Tomato
    • Yaxi = Mineral
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Enigma notes in his first free time that he's not as loud and boisterous as he is normally, which he admits is because the discovery of the two dead bodies.
  • Pals with Jesus: Implied. His bio card states that he enjoys training with the gods such as Actaeon or Shiva.
  • Rescue Romance: In Cabin Confiding, he explains to Enigma that he met his love, Flora when he was hunting in poor weather and fell from the mountains, leading to this. However, they ended up drifting apart when he "cheated" on her with someone called Ceres. Turns out these are actually the "goddesses" he goes on about.
  • Sophisticated as Hell: His manner of speaking is very impressive and articulated.
  • Super-Senses: The bio also states that Grisp's smell and hearing are more advanced than the average person.
  • Tattoo as Character Type: He has tattoos on his body that are based on nature-themed elements, such as a flower and a tiger.
  • Token Religious Teammate: Is setting up to be this based on how he frequently mentions the Gods of the world. His bio card also reveals that he "consults with the deities of nature" whenever he talks to himself.
  • Token Super: Claims to be this due to his connection to nature, claiming to have Super-Strength, the ability to fling trees and ride them, swim through cold waters, and having Super-Senses.
  • Trademark Favourite Food: He states that he likes blueberries, which Enigma's hair reminds him of.
  • Tribal Face Paint: The upper half of his face is painted red and the whole face is covered in white dots.
  • Walking Shirtless Scene: The left side of his chest is fully exposed.

    Moraiteru

Moraiteru

Ultimate VFX Artist

Voiced by: JayJitsu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/moraiteru.PNG

  • Ascended Fangirl: Zig-Zagged. It ultimately never went anywhere, but she reveals in Cabin Confiding that she once made out with the lead singer of her favorite band.
  • Attention Whore: She craves the spotlight and thinks very highly of herself.
  • Blatant Lies: When Enigma suggests she tries using her keys on the Gambling Room, she suggests he does it since "her hands hurt". Enigma quickly sees it through and tricks into exposing herself by offering a high-five.
  • Body Language: Rather than just telling people how she feels about them, she expresses herself with actions.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: She's an Ultimate, yet she's too lazy to even try unlocking a door, expecting someone else to do it.
  • Dude, Not Funny!: When Rule announces a Side Game, she takes a knife and looks like she's about to kill Yaxi, only to reveal that it was all a joke.
  • Fan of Underdog: Her favorite rock band is one that's been overshadowed by more well-known ones.
  • Fiery Red Head: She has dark red hair and a Hot-Blooded personality to boot.
  • Graceful Loser: When the singer for her favorite band turned her down after a drunken makeout, she apparently shrugged it off with "that's life".
  • Hidden Depths: She has her own fanbase who, according to Moraiteru, would die for her well being.
  • Jerkass: She's self-centered, lazy, and she carelessly and casually shows enthusiasm and makes tasteless jokes about The Killing Game, even making it look like she's going to kill Yaxi only to reveal she was "joking."
  • Jive Turkey: She tends to talk in slang which makes people see her as being too easygoing.

  • Attention Whore: She thrives on attention and dislikes it when people ignore her.
    • In Cabin Confiding, she tells Enigma that she does modeling on the side, which she enjoys more than toxicology since "all the world's eyes are on her."
    • As she admits in her Free Time Events, this is also part of why she pulled that "I'm the Mastermind" thing on Enigma, hoping he would tell everyone, and stated that the thought of stabbing someone exhilarated her, hoping it'd intimidate the others into not screwing with her. Though unlike Moraiteru, who's actions are motivated by fear, for her it's apparently part of her status as this.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Downplayed. She dated a fan because he wasn't a pervert like her other fans, but she ended up losing interest and dumping. Afterward, she dated other guys with similar results and ended up not believing in "true love".
  • Beneath the Mask: In her Social Butterflies event with Rox, she admits that she's had to fake her personality so people would like her
  • Big-Breast Pride: Has the largest chest amongst the girls and is prideful of them as they add on to her beauty.

  • Hartman Hips: As Grisp puts it, she has "large buttocks", which both Pocket and Yaxi appreciate greatly.

  • Idiot Hair: She has a curvy one that goes to the right.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Described as such by Enigma. She's flirtatious and Trollish, but she's a good person deep down.
  • Meaningful Name:
    • Scarlet is another word for red, just like her hair.
    • Additionally, her name brings to mind The Scarlet Letter which centered around a woman who was notorious among her peers for her provocative nature.
  • The Nicknamer: She gives nicknames to her acquaintances.
  • Sultry Bangs: She has a fringe that covers her right eye, adding to her sultriness.

    • She was the first one to check on Cancel when she noticed how shaken she was after seeing the dead bodies of the former Ultimate Students
  • The Tease: She generally acts in a provocative manner and flirts with the guys and the girls.

  • Trademark Favorite Food: She loves cherries.
  • Troll: Along with Weakness Turns Her On, this seems to be her reason for lying to Enigma that she's the mastermind and threatening to kill him.

A radiant smile with a compassionate personality to match. Rissi may look like a sweet, innocent young girl, but she'll tell you herself not to underestimate her independence and brainpower.

Rissi wishes for nothing more than to protect others than to be protected herself.

She will often jump in fear from the slightest disturbance. Rissi will tell others around her that she is just performing some of her daily acrobatic techniques, but this doesn't seem entirely true.

Rissi's hobbies include performing karaoke to anyone who can stomach her awful singing and swimming.

Just remember one thing: when making friends with Rissi, never reject her cookies.

  • All-Loving Hero: She has a big heart as she hopes to protect those around her.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Despite her image as an innocent sweetheart, Rissi is smarter and more independent than she leads on.
  • Curtains Match the Window: She has brownish-pink hair and eyes.
  • Expy: Early on, it's easy to see some similarities between her and Chihiro Fujisaki; both are the Token Mini-Moe, being the smallest and physically weakest among the Ultimates who wants to get stronger somehow, but is noted by others, such as Enigma and Twin, to have a good deal of inner strength.
  • Hero-Worshipper: She apparently became a dentist out of admiration of her uncle, who was also one. It helped that she was interested in dentistry to begin with.

  • Nice Girl: One of the sweetest girls in the cast.
  • Ocean Awe: She loves the ocean.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Rissi has pink hair and a heart full of compassion.
  • Scatterbrained Senior: Played for Drama. In her Cabin Confiding, she reveals to Enigma that her mother suffers from dementia, and it's so bad that there are brief moments where she completely forgets about Rissi and her father.
  • Ship Tease: After Twin saves her in the prolouge, she and him end up bonding really quickly. Enigma can't help but Lampshade how they've gotten so close so fast.
Enigma: How the hell are these two so close in such a short amount of time?
  • Sweet Baker: She loves to bake in her free time.

From a sports-influenced family, Yaxi grew up into a happy-go-lucky, energetic ball of sunshine.

At a young age, Yaxi made a vow to become stronger. She trained to prove how far her resolve could take her. With a heart and body made of steel, she became a force to be reckoned with.

Yaxi exudes positivity in everything she does. However, she has her breaking points. Yaxi usually snaps at something if it's anything less than stupid or just plain obvious.

Yaxi's hobbies include telling made-up stories about how she lost her eye, each story as bewildering and more puzzling as the last.

  • Affectionate Nickname: Tends to add "chi" at the end of everyone's codenames.

(To Enigma in their Free Time Event): Come ooon, where's that smile? You gotta be more positive. There's too much negativity in the world these days."
  • In-Series Nickname: Her stage name is the Iron Maiden.
  • Misery Builds Character: Despite being an Ultimate, she's well aware of the possibility that someone could surpass her and take her title, and so trains to make sure she keeps it.
  • Multiple-Choice Past: She's known for telling stories regarding how she lost her eye with each story being more wild and unbelievable than the last.
  • My Greatest Failure: When she was younger, she was going to visit her friend when she saw him being threatened by a gunman. When she tried to save him, he ended up Taking the Bullet for her, dying the next day while the killer got away. This put her in a serious depression that lasted until she saw boxing on the TV, resolving to be strong enough to prevent something like that happening again.
  • Nice Girl: Friendly and enthusiastic towards nearly everyone, with Moraiteru being the exception.
  • Passionate Sports Girl: She comes from a family of sports enthusiasts and Yaxi's prime goal in life is to get stronger.
  • The Pollyanna: Yaxi takes on any task with absolute positivity.
  • Verbal Tic: She uses the affix -chi at the end of each person's name. Similar to Yasuhiro.
  • You Remind Me of X: Her concern for Moraiteru is because she reminds her of her dad, who often bottled up his feelings and lashed out at her mother as a result.

Rule

Voiced by: Seth Raffield

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wolf_23.png

  • Big Bad: Seems to be the organizer of this Killing Game.
  • Faux Affably Evil: He acts cultured and polite, but it's clear that he's a Sadist who's enjoying the torment and Sadistic Choices he forces on his captives. He also takes the time to taunt Corza, who he clearly has history with, during the party in 1-B.
  • Knight of Cerebus: When he reveals himself to the students via the monitors, he forces the students to take their circumstances more seriously by granting them access through the red door, which contains the corpses of the two ultimate students who weren't with them, and later revealing he killed them.
  • Poisonous Person: For the first Motive, he reveals that he injected all the participants with a slow-acting poison while they were unconcious and promised to give the antidote to the rest if one of them dies. One of the side-effects is the frequent headaches the participants suffer.
  • Purple Is Powerful: He has a violet coat and is one of the main overseers of the sacrifice game.
  • Sadistic Choice: Seems to be a fan of these, putting the students in a "Sacrifice Game" that forces them to choose between themselves and the thing most important to them. He also seems fond of a tale about a criminal who captures a child and forces the mother to choose between the life of herself or her child.
  • Wicked Cultured: Speaks in a posh tone, is often depicted drinking wine, and reveals himself to the students while playing the piano.
  • Wine Is Classy: He's shown holding a glass of wine which contributes to his sophisticated image.
