Support

Support Brawlers primary skills are built around supporting their team in different ways. They can either provide healing for their team or other abilities to enable or buff friendly Brawlers - increasing everyone's chance to victory. Support Brawlers typically have a low potential for burst damage but fair hitpoints and/or survivability, and are targets for any Brawler with high burst potential - primarily Damage Dealers, Assassins, Marksmen and Tanks.

    Byron

Release Date: 16/12/2020
Voiced by: Steven Kelly
Alternate Skins: Wizard Byron, Overlord Byron, Ringmaster Byron, Beach Byron, True Silver/Gold Byron

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/byron_bs_full_body.png
"Potential, satisfaction, guaranteed."
Byron has invented many concoctions and tinctures that heal or harm in various ways... but most of them fall into the harming category.

A Mythic Brawler, and part of the Townsfolk trio along with Barley and Piper. He's a stern Traveling Salesman and self-proclaimed medic specialized in selling his own All-Natural Snake Oil to anyone foolish enough to make business with him.

Byron is a versatile healer who can function both as a dedicated supporter and a pseudo-sniper specialized in dealing Damage Over Time, but has to carefully manage his ammo and know the best moment to either attack or heal his teammates to avoid being overwhelmed by enemy fire.

  • His Attack, Careful Dose, shoots a long-ranged dart that, if hit, will deal damage on impact and poison the target for three extra ticks of damage over 2 seconds. However, if the dart is aimed at an ally, it'll heal them over time for the same amount of damage an enemy would've suffered instead. Both the damage and healing effects stack, adding to the damage/healing that is already being inflicted on the Brawler.
  • His Super, Full Treatment, throws a vial that can be lobbed over obstacles and will shatter on impact with the ground, instantly healing allies and damaging enemies caught in the liquid including Byron himself.
  • His first Gadget, Shot In The Arm, consumes one of Byron's ammo bars in exchange for healing him 25% of his maximum health per second for 3 seconds, healing a total of 75% maximum health. This Gadget has a 1-second delay after its activation before it starts taking effect.
  • His second Gadget, Booster Shots, charges Byron's next attack so that it shoots 3 darts instead of a single one. These darts are shoot slightly spread from each other, deal 20% less damage, and heal 40% less health than his normal darts.
  • His first Star Power, Malaise, makes enemies caught in his Super receive 75% less healing from any source for 9 seconds.
  • His second Star Power, Injection, gives him an additional bar that charges every 3.5 seconds and, when full, will make his next basic attack pierce through any target, be friend or foe.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: Morally questionable in his default skin, and a complete villain in all others, but the Big Good in the Once Upon skin series.
  • Animal Motifs: Snakes. He's a Snake Oil Salesman who behaves like a Smug Snake, speaks with some Snake Talk, attacks with Poisoned Weapons, and some of his clothes/accessories (most notably his serpent-headed staff and tie that looks like a snake tongue) are snake-themed
  • Anti-Regeneration: His Malaise Star Power will make enemies caught in his Super heal 75% less effectively. This includes their natural regeneration that begins after three seconds of not attacking or receiving damage, making low-health enemies easy prey for his teammates.
  • Armor-Piercing Attack: His Injection Star Power allows his next projectile to pierce through allies and enemies alike, meaning foes won't be able to hide behind teammates or spawnables to protect themselves from Byron.
  • Artificial Limbs: His Overlord skin gives him a mechanical right arm that ends in a sharp-looking claw.
  • Beard of Evil: He's got a beard, and is also one of the least heroic Brawlers among the entire roster. His Overlord and Ringmaster skins give him longer beards for more nastiness.
  • Big "NO!": Two of his possible defeat lines have him screaming this in a rather melodramatic way.
  • Cold Ham: Speaks like a Mad Doctor with plenty of Evil Laughs, but is also pretty soft-spoken and tranquil when offering his concoctions in the middle of battle.
  • Combat Medic: Both Byron's attack and Super can heal teammates or damage enemies, depending on who he uses it on. This means he can seamlessly switch from healing his team to laying into the enemy with poisoning attacks.
  • Evil Old Folks: He's a senior citizen who acts like a Smug Snake and enjoys scamming people out of their savings by offering his useless medicines to them.
  • Face Hugger: The Starfish Aliens he uses in his Overlord skin seem to be these, as one of them attaches itself to Byron's face in his defeat animation.
  • Faux Affably Evil: He introduces himself very politely, but makes it clear that it's just a front for his terrible business.
  • The Friends Who Never Hang: He's pretty much never seen interacting with Barley and Piper, the other members of his trio. Probably justified, as the only thing they've got in common is living in the same town. Not that Barley and Piper would like to interact with Byron very much anyway...
  • Galactic Conqueror: The theme of his Overlord skin. Coincidentally, the skin set it belongs to is stated to be the main enemy faction of the Starr Force.
  • Glass Cannon: Byron's great sniper-like range, fast projectiles, and ability to deal Damage Over Time (thus keeping his enemies from naturally healing up longer than the average) can make of him an acceptable offensive Brawler if the situation call for it, but he's got awful HP and a lack of burst damage that makes him especially susceptible to aggressive enemies.
  • Heal Thyself: His Shot In The Arm Gadget will heal Byron for 25% maximum health every second for 3 seconds at the cost of one piece of ammo.
  • Healing Potion: His Wizard skin attacks/heals with owl-shaped health potions he shoots out of his wizard staff. His victory animation in said skin also shows him summoning a bunch of potions out of thin air.
  • Healing Shiv: Byron's main attack can be used to either damage enemies through Damage Over Time or heal allies the same way. Ditto for his Super, which means he can potentially deal damage to foes and heal his teammates with one single Super if they happen to be bunched up.
  • Herr Doktor: Byron speaks with a thick German accent, and his self-made All-Natural Snake Oil technically makes him some sort of doctor for the people he sells it to.
  • Loophole Abuse: Unlike other healer Brawlers, Byron's healing from both his main attack and his Super are hard-coded into his damage value, meaning that damage enhancers such as the Damage Gear, 8-Bit's turret, or Gus' Spirit Animal Star Power will also increase the amount of healing he can provide despite not dealing any damage. Of course, this also means that damage debuffs such as Crow's Extra Toxic Star Power or Lou's Hypothermia Star Power can reduce Byron's healing properties as well.
  • The Owl-Knowing One: His Wizard skin gets some owl Animal Motifs to go with him being the knowledgeable Big Good of the medieval skins.
  • Repulsive Ringmaster: Becomes one in his Ringmaster skin, which turns him into the horned, devil-like ringmaster of the Bizarre Circus.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: Smug as he might be, it's clear Byron has some knowledge when it comes to medicine and business dealing, and he's one of the few Brawlers who wears reading glasses.
  • Smug Snake: Fitting for a character with so many snake motifs. Every single one of his voice lines when defeating an enemy mock their incompetence, while those when he himself is defeated vary from anger to disbelief.
  • Snake Oil Salesman: His character description tells you to never call him a "snake oil salesman", but many of Byron's in-game quotes consist of him advertising his concoctions. The brews used in his attacks appear to work as intended, but he also mentions others that probably are fake, like an "aiming elixir".
    "Potential, satisfaction, guaranteed."
  • Snake Talk: Subtle, but when he mocks an enemy as "useless", or praises himself as "sensational", his hissing is plain to hear.
  • Snakes Are Sinister: If his choice of profession or use of Poisoned Weapons aren't enough to paint him as a character to avoid, his attire is covered in snake motifs: the head of his cane, his belt buckle, tie, coattail, cufflinks, boot buckles, the list goes on. Even his slicked-back hair curls on the top to form the shape of a snake's tongue.
  • Starfish Aliens: His Overlord skin uses jellyfish-like aliens to attack his enemies. He also has two of them trapped with him, one in his scepter and another in a capsule on his back.
  • Suppressed Rage: Byron's losing animation has him starting to get red with anger. He then takes a deep breath and tries to keep his composure, but if you look closely, you can see his eyelid and his lip twitching.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Of the Townsfolk trio. While Barley and Piper are sweet, warm-natured individuals who make honest livings with their genuine tavern/baking business, Byron is a Smug Snake who prefers to scam his clients with his All-Natural Snake Oil. He even has some pretty convincing Evil Laughs as a couple of voicelines.
  • Wizard Classic: His Wizard skin transforms him into a full on wizard, complete with a Wizard Beard.

    Doug

Release Date: 01/08/2023
Voiced by: Austen Moret
Alternate Skins: Draco Doug, True Silver/Gold Doug

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brawler_doug_render_3d_brawl_stars.png
"Going in at the deep end, my dudes."
Doug's hot dogs will extend your friends' shelf life.

A Mythic Brawler, and part of the currently incomplete Velocirapids trio along with Buzz. He's a friendly but dimwitted hot dog vendor working in Starr Park's water park decided to provide food to whoever may wish for it.

Doug is a Brawler with an unique Auto-Revive mechanic that allows him to keep either his teammates or himself alive amidst the battlefield while also acting as a durable, mobile healing station for any nearby ally, but suffers from a lack of range and a very low damage output that often makes him incapable of functioning without the reciprocated support of his teammates.

  • His Attack, Snack Attack, has Doug splash water in a radius around him, similarly to Jacky's main attack. Enemies caught in this radius will receive damage as normal, but if an ally is caught in the splash, they will instead be healed by 50% of his main attack damage. Doug can deal damage and heal allies at the same time if they're close to each other, and this attack can also damage/heal behind walls.
  • His Super, Second Serving, throws a hot dog at either him (if auto-aimed) or his allies (if manually aimed) that allows them to revive if they're defeated within 5 seconds of receiving the hot dog. Revived allies will spawn where they were killed with one additional ammo and full health (but not an invincibility shield). Defeated Brawlers that revive won't drop/lose their Gems/Power Cubes in Gem Grab/Showdown. If the hot dog isn't consumed within 5 seconds, it will simply disappear. Doug can throw this hot dog even through walls.
  • His first Gadget, Double Sausage, will make Doug's next attack only heal allies, but the healed amount will be doubled.
  • His second Gadget, Extra Mustard, will make Doug's next attack only damage enemies, but the damage dealt will be doubled.
  • His first Star Power, Fast Food, grants revived allies a speed boost for 3 seconds.
  • His second Star Power, Self Service, heals Doug for 20% of the maximum damage he would've inflicted to an enemy each time he uses his main attack. This Star Power stacks with his Double Sausage Gadget and damage buffs and will take effect even if Doug doesn't hurt any enemies.

  • All-Loving Hero: He is one of the most benevolent Brawlers in the game, having no interest in hurting others and trying to get along with everyone in general. Even Cordelius, who canonically hates people, seems to like Doug as shown in the One Hot Dog, Please! animation. His gameplay is also much more focused on healing allies and surviving than on actual combat.
  • Ambiguously Human: Much like his fellow coworker and trio member Buzz, certain aspects of Doug's design (most notably the visible air valve on his neck) seem to imply he's actually not a dinosaur, but an employee wearing a suit.
  • Astonishingly Appropriate Appearance: His pink, elongated body wrapped in his lifeguard vest overall makes Doug resemble a hot dog.
  • Auto-Revive: His main gimmick, courtesy of his Super allowing Doug to either revive his teammates or himself if they get defeated within 5 seconds of receiving his hot dog.
  • Discard and Draw: Both of his Gadgets function as this, as they'll either double the damage or healing Doug's next attack inflicts at the cost of its other effect being negated.
  • The Ditz: He doesn't appear to be very bright and often makes dumb mistakes, such as accidentally dropping a hot dog into the pool, going to a creepy forest to retrieve it, and provoking an explosion out of an energy drink after repeatedly running with it.
  • Dumb Is Good: He's The Ditz, but it's also one of the most friendly and easygoing Brawlers in the game.
  • Everybody Do the Endless Loop: His idle animation has him perform a dance like this.
  • Eye-Obscuring Hat: Doug's eyes are always obscured by his food vendor hat, although his nostrils seem to take the role of his eyes and give him some expressiveness.
  • Funny Animal: He's (possibly) an anthropomorphic dinosaur who woks selling hot dogs in a water park.
  • Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal: He's a dinosaur (possibly) whose only pieces of clothing are a pair of beach shorts, a lifeguard vest, and a food vendor hat.
  • Healing Factor: His Self Service Star Power allows Doug to heal himself every time he uses his main attack for 20% of the maximum damage he would've inflicted onto an enemy with said attack.
  • Healing Shiv: Much like Byron, Doug can heal allies and damage enemies with the same attack. His attack's Area of Effect means he can reliably heal multiple allies at once unlike Byron's single-target shots, although this is balanced by Doug's short range and lesser healing.
  • Hyperactive Metabolism: To an extreme degree, as Doug's hot dogs seem to be so delicious the can actually bring allies back to life.
  • Mellow Fellow: Calm, kind, and easy-going, Doug doesn't have a sour side, seemingly always just wanting to have fun rather than hurt others. The only thing that ever appeared to distress him was the Enchanted Forest and Cordelius, but by the end of his trailer he seemed to be on good terms with both of those.
  • Nice Guy: Is nothing but kind and friendly, especially to the kids in the park, even saying there's nothing personal during fights.
  • Nitro Boost: His Fast Food Star Power will grant Doug and his allies a speed boost for 3 seconds after reviving with his Super, making them even faster than Brawlers with Very Fast movement speed.
  • Odd Friendship: Doug, a laid-back hot dog vendor Surfer Dude, seems to get along well with Cordelius, a creepy and loony hermit, as shown in the One Hot Dog, Please! animation. They are even seen sharing some time together after Doug sells Cordelius a hot dog.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: His Draco skin transforms him into a dragon, complete with sharp teeth and a set of wings.
  • Punny Name: Doug is a hot dog vendor.
  • Stone Wall: Doug has a below average damage output, but his high HP, self-healing, and ability to constantly revive at full health can make him very hard to bring down if he manages to constantly cycles Supers with his opponents.
  • Support Party Member: Enforced. Thanks to his very short range and low damage output, Doug is arguably more effective as a mobile healing station for his teammates than a combatant, especially in comparison to other support Brawlers who have better chances to fight back than him either through sporting higher damage or better range. For this reason, charging a Super with Doug is often a side effect of an enemy wandering into his range while he uses his main attack to heal his teammates.
  • Surfer Dude: Doug seems to like using "dude" and "bro" in his speech a lot. He also nails the accent quite well.
    "Whoa, my dudes!"
    "Come at me bro!"
  • Technical Pacifist: Doug would rather spend his time making hot dogs for his friends and hanging out with them than fighting, but he's still a Brawler who may be thrown in the middle of combat if necessary.

    Gray

Release Date: 12/12/2022
Alternate Skins: Runaway Gray, Detective/Noir Detective Gray, True Silver/Gold Gray

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gray_bs_full_body.png
Gray styles himself as a character in an old silent film. He takes the act seriously but sometimes forgets to keep his mouth shut when doing finger bullets.

A Mythic Brawler, and part of the Brawlywood trio along with Lola and Mico. He's an actor specialized in black and white silent films, usually acting alongside his partner Lola despite her constant attempts to hog the spotlight.

Gray is a Brawler specialized in supporting his teammates by boosting their mobility and allowing them to reach objectives quicker or escape from tricky situations with the use of his Super.

  • His Attack, Finger Pistol, shoots invisible bullets from Gray's fingers signaled in the form of advancing dotted lines spawning in front of him. If Gray manages to hit an enemy with these, a sign with an explosion drawing will pop up from the ground where the target was standing; if the bullet misses, however, the sign will have a cross mark instead.
  • His Super, Dimensional Doors, will create two portals: one where Gray is currently standing while using the Super, and another in the direction he aims at. These portals can teleport both him and allies after a short delay when stepping on them, and the distance they can be spawned away from each other will always be fixed at 7 tiles. When using this Super, Gray will instantly teleport towards the aimed teleport, but allies will have to wait for a bit to be able to use them. Gray can only have two portals active at a time, meaning using this Super again will make the first two despawn.
  • His first Gadget, Walking Cane, allows Gray's next attack to slightly pull enemies towards him depending on the distance the attack travels before hitting them. This also allows Gray's attack to pass through walls and break them if a Brawler is pulled over one.
  • His second Gadget, Grand Piano, will make a piano fall where his next attack lands after a 3-second delay, no matter if an enemy is hit or not. This piano, apart from dealing the same amount of damage as his normal attack, will destroy obstacles and knock back enemies in the landing zone.
  • His first Star Power, Fake Injury, will reduce damage by 50% whenever Gray is at full health. Shields have no effect on this Star Power, however.
  • His second Star Power, New Perspective, heals Gray and allies for 20% of Gray's maximum health whenever they use one of his portals.

  • Armor-Piercing Attack: His Walking Cane Gadget lets Gray's next attack go through walls and, if an enemy is pulled, break them as well.
  • Artificial Limbs: His Detective skins grant Gray a robotic arm with a gun barrel attached to it he uses to shoot bullets from.
  • Badass Longcoat: In his Detective skins, as expected of his profession.
  • Cane Fu: His Walking Cane Gadget lets Gray use the cane he's always carrying around as a weapon, turning it into a shot capable to go through and break walls should an enemy be hooked by it.
  • Classy Cane: Wields a cane which he puts to good use with his Walking Cane Gadget
  • Combos: Want to increase the distance his Walking Cane Gadget can pull enemies towards him? Just use Gray's Super to teleport backwards just as Walking Cane connects onto an enemy. This way, the hooked enemy will be pulled all the way to Gray's starting position, which is more or less triple the distance Walking Cane can pull enemies over, basically turning Gray's Gadget into a Gene Super with the right timing.
  • Deliberate Monochrome: He's entirely black, white, and gray in his default model, with the only part of his design with a bit of color being the golden button on his pants.
  • Eccentric Artist: He is an actor who never speaks as a way to stay in-character as a silent film protagonist.
  • Elective Mute: Him Saying Sound Effects Out Loud means he's capable of speech just fine, but has decided to stay completely silent as a way to stay in-character for his job.
  • Film Noir: His Noir Detective skin is based on this, being a Deliberate Monochrome variation of his regular Detective skin.
  • Finger Gun: Gray attack by shooting invisible bullets out of his fingers as if he were a mime.
  • Full Health Bonus: His Fake Injury Star Power will reduce incoming damage by 50% whenever Gray is at full health.
  • Great Detective: Both of his Detective skins turn him into one, and the License to Brawl! animation paints him as a pretty effective one.
  • Handicapped Badass: In his Detective skin, he has a mechanical arm that also works as a gun.
  • Heal Thyself: His New Perspective Star Power basically allows Gray and his allies to use his teleports as healing stations, as teleporting will also heal them for 20% of Gray's maximum health each time they are used.
  • Jack of All Stats: He's got moderate health and a surprisingly acceptable damage output for a Support Brawler, but average speed.
  • Meaningful Name: He's Deliberate Monochrome, with lots of black, white, and gray in his design.
  • Not the Intended Use: As a Support Brawler, the intended use for Gray's portals is for his allies to have a bigger mobility, ways to bypass walls and chokepoints with ease, and reliable escape tools from danger; however, Gray's great range and acceptable damage means that his instant teleport mechanic allows him to be a reliable Assassin against low health Brawlers or finish off already weakened ones, making him a reliable offensive Brawler despite his class implying otherwise.
  • Not So Stoic: He rarely expresses what he is feeling and maintains his calm expression even in his defeat animations, but interacting with Lola seems to be enough to make him lose his cool, as she wants to keep all the attention to herself without caring if she annoys or harms Gray in the process.
  • Only Sane Man: With the other members of his trio both being examples of Small Name, Big Ego, the more serious Gray falls into this trope.
  • Piano Drop: His Grand Piano Gadget will make a piano fall from the sky in the direction he aims his next attack at after three seconds, damaging enemies and destroying terrain in the landing area.
  • Prison Escape Artist: His Runaway skin gives him some prisoner clothes, implying he made use of his Super to get away from prison.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He's the Blue to Lola's Red, being more tranquil, stoic, and quiet than the melodramatic diva.
  • Saying Sound Effects Out Loud: While he's an Elective Mute, Gray can be heard saying different variations of "Pew!" whenever he uses his main attack.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: In his defeat animation, after he fails to put his mustache back to its proper place, Gray creates a portal below him and jumps into it, leaving his hat behind.
  • Shout-Out: His Detective Gray skin appears to have been inspired by Steve's Detective uniform in Blue's Clues & You!, even having a photo of a blue pawprint on his hat.
  • The Stoic: He's quite tranquil and serious, always staying in-character and rarely losing his composure even in his defeat animations. The only one capable of irritating him seems to be his colleague Lola, who constantly tries to steal his spotlight by barging in the middle of his performances.
  • Thinking Up Portals: Gray's main appeal is his ability to create portals that can be used by him and his teammates to skip large portions of the map. These come with some limitations though, such as the distance they can teleport always being fixed unless Gray aims at the map borders, or having a pretty lengthy cooldown between each use.
  • You Will Not Evade Me: His Walking Cane Gadget will slightly pull enemies caught in his next main attack towards him, even through walls. He can increase the distance enemies can be pulled over if Gray uses his teleport backwards just as he hooks someone.
  • Your Mime Makes It Real: The bullets he shoots in his main attack seem to come out of thin air, implying Gray is creating them on the spot with mimicry.

    Gus

Release Date: 23/09/2022
Voiced by: Patrick Pedraza
Alternate Skins: World Champion Gus, Boy Scout Gus, Balloon Sally, True Silver/Gold Gus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gus_bs_full_body.png
"Time to take Spooky for a walk."
Gus looks so much like a ghost child that he's often mistaken for one. Perhaps fittingly, he's an enthusiast of all things Supernatural, since he's too innocent to be scared.

A Super Rare Brawler, and part of the currently incomplete Ghost Station trio along with Chuck. He's a child living in an abandoned train station in company of his pet Spooky, a dog balloon animal.

Gus' playstyle mainly revolves around providing his teammates with means of recovery they can choose to use whenever they want, as well as shields to ensure their survival in the direst of situations.

  • His Attack, Loony Balloons, throws a balloon in a straight line that will partially charge a bar if it manages to hit an enemy. This bar takes 3 hits to completely charge and, when full, will make Gus' next successful attack spawn a spirit in the spot the balloon was thrown. These ghosts will heal both Gus and his allies when picked up, and up to a maximum of 10 ghosts can be present on the field at the same time.
  • His Super, Spooky Boy, throws Gus' pet balloon dog Spooky at either him (if auto-aimed) or his allies (if manually aimed), granting them a consumable shield that blocks an amount of damage depending on Gus' level and decays 5% health every half a second, and pushes enemies back on activation. Gus can throw Spooky even through walls.
  • His first Gadget, Kooky Popper, detonates all spirits present on the battlefield, dealing damage equal to one of his main attacks to enemies around the explosion. The damage from multiple spirits can stack if they're close to each other.
  • His second Gadget, Soul Switcher, will fully charge Gus' spirit bar in exchange for 5% of his current health.
  • His first Star Power, Health Bonanza, doubles the amount of healing received from the spirits spawned by his main attack.
  • His second Star Power, Spirit Animal, will grant Gus and allies a 25% damage buff for 5 seconds after receiving the shield from his Super.

  • Animate Inanimate Object: His pet, Spooky, is a balloon dog that somehow came to life and now accompanies Gus in his everyday.
  • Balloon of Doom: He attacks by tossing balloons.
  • Barrier Warrior: Gus' selling point as a Support Brawler is his ability to provide his allies with durable shields to greatly increase their survivability in the middle of the battlefield. He can also give these shields to himself if the situation calls for it.
  • Boyish Shorts: He's one of the youngest Brawlers in the game, and wears an appropriate pair of shorts to go with his childish look.
  • Cast From Hitpoints: His Soul Switcher Gadget damages Gus for 5% of his current health, but fully charges his spirit bar in return, letting him summon a healing ghost immediately.
  • Children Are Innocent: His description calls him too innocent to be scared, and his voicelines and personality show that he's quite amicable and without a bad bone in his body.
  • Combat Medic: Gus is actually quite strong for a Support Brawler, possessing acceptable damage and sniper-like range while still being able to heal and grant his teammates with shields.
  • Creepy Child: Downplayed. He's some sort of a Living Ghost with a liking for the supernatural, but is actually a pretty nice boy whose kit revolves around protecting his teammates from harm and healing them.
  • Glass Cannon: He's got an above average damage output and a great range that puts him on par with some Marksmen, but low health (though this can be somewhat patched up if he manages to constantly cycle his Supers and use them on himself).
  • Having a Blast: His Kooky Popper Gadget allows Gus to detonate all spirits present on the battlefield, dealing damage to anything standing in the blast radius.
  • Hyperventilation Bag: Does these with one of his balloons in his defeat animation.
  • Living Ghost: His description states he's often mistaken for an Undead Child because he looks like a ghost, but he's very much a living kid with ghost-like powers who simply enjoys hanging around abandoned places.
  • Missing Child: His old description says he got lost in the Ghost Station while chasing a balloon dog and has been there since then.
  • Mystical White Hair: He's a Living Ghost whose hair is purely white.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: According to his description, he's an enthusiast of all things supernatural. Chuck's introduction also mentions Gus enjoys listening to his music, which is implied to be quite creepy due to Chuck also being a Nightmare Fetishist.
  • Rage Quit: Performs one in the losing animation of his World Champion skin, banging his phone on the ground and ultimately kicking it away in frustration.
  • Scout-Out: His Boy Scout skin dresses Gus in a typical camping/boy scout attire, complete with a cap replacing his beanie.
  • Shout-Out: His Balloon Sally skin is directly inspired on the character of the same name from LINE FRIENDS.
  • Soul Power: As a Living Ghost, Gus possesses supernatural and ghost-like powers both out and inside battle, such as one official animation showing that he can turn intangible or summoning ghosts in the middle of the battlefield.
  • Status Buff: His Spirit Animal Star Power will buff the damage of allies or Gus by 25% for 5 seconds after receiving his Super.
  • Supernatural Phone: His World Champion skin sports a phone that has the ability to summon a trophy as an attack, and if you look closely, it doesn't seem to be on.
  • Undead Child: Subverted. Gus may appear to be a ghost, but his description states he just looks a little too much like one, which is why he's often mistaken for an undead being.
  • Undeathly Pallor: He's got supernatural powers that often get him mistaken for a ghost, and his skin is pale white.

    Kit

Release Date: 28/12/2023
Voiced by: Chris Nichter
Alternate Skins: Billy the Kit, KitBoxer (Normal, Goldpaw, and Darkpaw), True Silver/Gold Kit

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kit_bs_full_body.png
"Thrilled to be here, really..."
Stuck giving autographs to his rabid fans at Starr Toon Studios, cartoony superstar Kit often daydreams of becoming relevant in the industry again, respected for his acting chops rather than his looks.

A Legendary Brawler, and current known member of the Starr Toon trio. He's a classic cartoon-like cat famous for his multiple roles playing cats in every type of cartoon, although he appears to be unfulfilled by the fact people seem to only like him because he's a cat.

Kit is a hybrid Brawler who can choose between being a supporter focused on providing his teammates with constant, uninterrupted healing or a low-key sneaky assassin with reliable ambushing tools capable of leaving the opposition defenseless against Kit's own allies.

  • Kit's special Trait allows him to passively charge his Super without the need to deal damage. With 5% charged per second, it takes Kit 20 seconds to fully charge a Super without other external factors.
  • His Attack in his Basic Form, Claws, has Kit slash with his claws in front of him, damaging every enemy in a 75 degree arc. This attacks has a very short cooldown and reload time, allowing Kit to spam it very quickly.
  • His Super, Carry Me!, has Kit jump towards a desired location, bypassing obstacles and becoming invulnerable before landing. If Kit lands onto an enemy Brawler, he will deal instant damage before attaching himself to them for 2 seconds, stunning the enemy and dealing extra ticks of damage per second he remains attached; on the other hand, if Kit lands onto an ally, he will instead attach himself to them for 10 seconds, healing them for a fixed amount each second, becoming invulnerable to damage, and having his main attack altered for the duration he remains attached to a teammate. Landing onto a teammate will instantly recharge Kit's Super, which he can use to prematurely detach himself from them. Landing onto an enemy won't make Kit invulnerable.
  • His Attack in his Attached Form, Yarn Balls, has Kit throw yarn balls that can be lobbed over walls, similarly to Artillery Brawlers. These yarn balls will briefly bounce upon touching the ground before exploding, dealing great damage in a small radius around the blast area.
  • His first Gadget, Cardboard Box, will turn Kit invisible for 3 seconds. If Kit remains immobile while this Gadget is active, the effect of his Trait will be doubled, allowing him to passively charge his Super much faster.
  • His second Gadget, Cheeseburger, will instantly heal Kit and the teammate he's attached to for 40% of their maximum health.
  • His first Star Power, Power Hungry, doubles the damage and health buffs obtained from Power Cubes.
  • His second Star Power, Overly Attached, increases the duration he can remain attached to an ally by 5 seconds, going from 10 to 15 seconds in total.

  • Abnormal Ammo: Whenever he's attached to an ally, Kit will attack by tossing yarn balls at his opponents, which somehow explode and deal a lot of damage.
  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: As expected from a cat, Kit's main attack has him slashing at his opponents with his claws.
  • Added Alliterative Appeal: One of his possible lines when in the lead is "Live, love, laugh, and lick."
  • Alternate Company Equivalent: He's a Support Brawler who attaches himself to allies while becoming invulnerable to damage and healing them as long as he remains attached. Is this Kit or Yuumi we're talking about? Bonus points for Kit also being a Cute Kitten like her.
  • Ascended Meme:
    • Kit is this as a whole. Initially teased as the Brawler that would come out for the (now defunct) Chromatic Rarity in Season 5, Kit's concept was apparently scrapped by the developers in favor of adding Ruffs, which led to lots of player to theorize over the years when Kit would come out (or if he was to come out at all) and what trio would he belong to (with the Starr Force trio being the most common one to place him in before the introduction of Eve), as well as fake leaks and clickbait videos about him finally coming to the game. Eventually and almost three years after his conceptualization, Kit was introduced in the game.
    • His Billy the Kit skin is based on a Kit concept fanart that came out months before the Brawler was announced.
  • Buffoonish Tomcat: Fittingly for a cartoon cat, Kit is shown to be reckless, clownish, and a source of slapstick, which is better seen in the Get the Kit! animation.
  • Big Ball of Violence: Happens in his Super when he lands onto an enemy. Fitting, since he's meant to be based on a cartoon character.
  • Cats Are Snarkers: He's got a quite of a sharp tongue, with a good chunk of his voicelines having him snark or make snide remarks at his opponents.
"Wow, I'm a cat. Try to get over it."
"Cat's got your tongue? Yes, I have."
"You aimed low, and managed to miss the mark."
  • Cats Have Nine Lives: One of his leading quotes has him mentioning he's waited all of his nine lives for this moment.
  • Cats Love Laser Pointers: Implied by one of his spawning lines.
"Whe-, wher-, where did that small red dot go?"
  • Celebrity Is Overrated: In a way. His official description and introduction state Kit is apparently fond of his fame, but also dislikes the fact he only became famous for being a cat instead of being a talented cartoon actor.
  • Cooldown Manipulation: His Cardboard Box Gadget will double the speed of his automatically charging Super if he remains immobile while invisible.
  • Cute Kitten: He's quite adorable-looking, and his backstory says he got very famous for just being a cat, implying his fans also find him endearing.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Gains one in his Billy the Kit skin.
  • Fragile Speedster: He's got a Fast movement speed, but low health. Thankfully, his low survivability is often offset by him being a Shoulder Teammate that can stay protected from harm by attaching himself to an ally.
  • Funny Animal: He's a cat with human-like mannerisms who even became a famous cartoon actor.
  • Furry Reminder: He speaks as fluently as any other human Brawler, but also hisses and snarls at his opponents if receiving damage as any other cat. Both his winning and defeat animation also show him playing with a yarn ball.
  • Glass Cannon: While each of Kit's individual slashes deal rather low damage, his very fast reload and unload speed that allows him to rapidly swipe at his opponents means he can shred Brawlers with average-to-low health rather easily. However, he's got very low health.
  • Hyperactive Metabolism: Most likely the reason his Cheeseburger Gadget lets Kit and the teammate he's attached to recover a good chunk of their health.
  • Increasingly Lethal Enemy: While every Brawler can technically become this by grabbing enough Showdown Power Cubes, Kit deserves a special mention by virtue of his Power Hungry Star Power, which doubles the Status Buffs given by each Power Cube Kit manages to grab, making him much more dangerous than the average Brawler souped up in Power Cubes.
  • Inkblot Cartoon Style: Kit is a black-and-white Funny Animal with Black Bead Eyes who wears white gloves and is stated to be an actor playing roles in multiple cartoons.
  • The Internet Is for Cats: Some of his voicelines and even his Cheeseburger Gadget reference how famous cats are over the Internet.
[Upon being defeated] "Back to the Internet."
  • Invulnerable Attack: When he attaches himself to an ally with his Super, Kit will be invulnerable to damage until he detaches himself from them.
  • The Medic: While he can still attack in his Attached Form, the main appeal of Kit's Shoulder Teammate gimmick is his ability to provide constant healing for the ally he uses his Super on, making them much harder to take down and easier for them to advance towards the enemy.
  • Mobile Shrubbery: Implied to be the reason why his Cardboard Box Gadget outright grants Kit Invisibility for a few seconds.
  • The Noseless: Rare animal example; Kit lacks a nose where a cat normally would have one.
  • Pungeon Master: Unsurprisingly, he seems to be very fond of cat-based puns.
"You aren't kitten around, are you?"
    "What a cat-astrophe."
    "Now it's purr-sonal."
  • Punny Name: Kit is a kitten.
  • Shoulder Teammate: His role as Support Brawler involves him clinging onto a teammate's back while healing them each second he remains attached, becoming invulnerable and modifying his main attack to be long-ranged.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Stock Animal Diet: A couple of voicelines show he likes fish.
"Something smells fishy here, and I love it!"
    "Oh, did I smell tuna?"
  • Wolverine Claws: He gains a pair of heavy-looking metallic claws in his KitBoxer skin.

    Max

Release Date: 18/12/2019
Voiced by: Sandra Osborne
Alternate Skins: GT Max, Cony Max, Streetwear Max, Hermes Max, Leopard/Panther Max, True Silver/Gold Max

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/max_bs_full_body.png
"Let's go, come on, zip zip!"
Fueled by energy drinks, Max speeds to the scene whenever someone needs help. She never sticks around long enough to do much... but she sure is fast!

A Mythic Brawler, and part of the Superhero trio along with Surge and Meg. She's a fast-moving and fast-talking adrenaline junkie addicted to energy drinks who also happens to be The Leader of the superhero team in Super City.

Max in an extremely agile Brawler designed to serve as a distraction and annoyance to the enemy team thanks to her multiple ways to avoid attacks directed at her, having the ability to provide her allies with a bit of this power with the help of her Super.

  • Her Attack, Faster Blaster, fires a salvo of 4 energy blasts from her wrist blasters with a slight spread in quick succession. This attack, apart from a considerably high unload speed, also has the unique property of possessing 4 ammo slots instead of the usual 3.
  • Her Super, Let's Go!, creates a wide area-of-effect around Max that lasts 1 second. Both Max and allies who enter this area will have their movement speed boosted by 35% for 4 seconds.
  • Her first Gadget, Phase Shifter, makes Max dash a bit forward in the direction she's currently facing, gaining a shield that makes her immune to direct damage while dashing. Max will still retain any status effects she had before dashing, however.
  • Her second Gadget, Sneaky Sneakers, places a lighting icon in the spot she activated the Gadget. After 3 seconds, Max will teleport to said spot with the health she currently had when the Gadget was activated, cleansing her of any Status Effects she attained while the Gadget was counting down (but not the ones she was inflicted with before activating the Gadget). Being defeated while the Gadget is active will make the icon disappear without Max being teleported to it.
  • Her first Star Power, Super Charged, allows Max to passively charge her Super as long as she's continuously moving. It takes around 68 seconds for Max to fully charge a Super with this Star Power, provided she doesn't receive any speed buffs or debuffs.
  • Her second Star Power, Run n' Gun, allows Max to reload her main attack 15.56% faster while moving. The percentage can be altered if Max is slowed down or receives a speed boost.
  • Her Hypercharge, Unlimited Energy, increases the area of her Super's effect to the entire map and charges her teammates' Supers by 25%. She also gains 24% more speed, 25% more damage, and a 5% damage reduction shield.

  • Absurdly Sharp Claws: Her Leopard/Panther skins replace her energy blasts with sharp-looking claws.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Works surprisingly well for her, especially in control-based modes such as Gem Grab or Hot Zone where she can rapidly rush towards the objective as soon as the match begins and stay there while picking off enemies with her fast attacks. If she gets defeated, she'll easily get back to the fight and keep the pressure up thanks to her very fast speed.
  • Compressed Hair: The few times she's seen without headgear, it's shown that her hair reaches all the way to her shoulders. Doesn't stop it from getting compressed inside of her helmet.
  • Cool Helmet: Sports one as part of her superhero costume.
  • Cooldown Manipulation: Both of her Star Powers let Max alter the reload speed of either her main attack or Super as long as she's constantly moving.
  • Dash Attack: Her Phase Shifter Gadget allows Max to dash a few tiles forward, becoming invulnerable while doing so.
  • Dub Name Change: She's named Maxine in the Italian translation, and Maks in Polish.
  • Energy Weapon: She attacks by firing blue energy-like projectiles from her wrist blasters.
  • Expy: Her vibrantly-colored jumpsuit, helmet, and behavior makes her similar to The Flash. Even the color scheme is the same.
  • Fiery Redhead: She happens to be one, although her red hair is always covered by her headwear in all of her skins, only being visible in a handful of pins and an animation.
  • Fragile Speedster: She is one of the most mobile Brawlers in the game, having a very fast movement speed, a Super that can make her even faster, and a Dash Attack Gadget, but her medium amount of health makes her unsuitable for all-out combat. Her blaster can rack up quite the damage if properly aimed, making her a bit of a Glass Cannon as well.
  • Genki Girl: Thanks to chugging down energy drinks in place of water, she is in a state of constant hyperactivity and full of energy.
  • Hit-and-Run Tactics: Pretty much the best way to play Max. Thanks to her high mobility, decent damage, and the large amount of projectiles she can shot in a short amount of time, a Max can reliably rush down a foe, unload her four ammo bars onto the unsuspecting target, then quickly get out of the way before the enemy can even aim at her should they happen to survive the assault. If the victim happens to be slow-moving like 8-Bit or have large amounts of delay between each attack like Frank, Max can pretty much kite them to death while they struggle to either run away from her or try land a hit onto the speedster.
  • In the Hood: Her Streetwear skin wears a hoodie, most likely to better hide her Secret Identity.
  • Lady Looks Like a Dude: Between her superhero costume covering her entire body, her gender-neutral name, and her boyish-sounding voice, it isn't uncommon for new players to mistake Max for a male Brawler at first glance. While some of her skins make the fact she's female more obvious, the only discernible female trait in her base model is her rather unnoticeable chest.
  • Meaningful Name: Max is always going at max speed.
    "Max to the max!"
  • Motor Mouth: Most likely another effect of her energy drink addiction, Max talks very fast in most of her voicelines. The ones where she doesn't tend to be her damaged/defeat lines.
    [Upon being defeated] "Time...to slow...down..."
  • Must Have Caffeine: She's in a constant state of frenzy thanks to the endless supply of energy drinks she's always ingesting. The fact she's seen gulping down an entire bottle when her Super activates implies her Super-Speed also comes from them.
  • Never Bareheaded: She's never seen without some piece of headgear in any of her skins. The few times she's had her her exposed come from a handful of exclusive pins and animations that show her to be a Fiery Redhead.
  • Older Than She Looks: Between the game's cartoony style and Max's young-sounding voice, it would be difficult to guess she's in her late 20s/early 30s according to Word of God.
  • Panthera Awesome: Her Leopard and Panther skins give her costumes that resemble, you guessed it, a leopard or a panther, topped off with her preforming Capoeira moves during her winning animations.
  • Power Gives You Wings: She gains a pair of wings when her Super is in effect in her Hermes skin.
  • Psycho Serum: She seems to get her Super-Speed from none other than the copious amounts of energy drinks she consumes on a daily basis. Somewhat Downplayed though, as besides from having an addiction, she doesn't suffer any sort of ill psychological effects save for extreme hyperactivity.
  • Secret Identity: The basis of her Streetwear skin, which ditches her costume in favor of casual clothes she uses to go out with when not working as a superhero.
  • Shout-Out:
    • Her Super's description contains the line "Gotta go fast!", a reference to the memetic line from Sonic X's intro.
    • Her Cony skin is directly inspired on the character of the same name from LINE FRIENDS.
    • Her Hermes skin is directly based on the Greek God of the same name.
  • Spam Attack: Both her reload and unload speed are very fast, and she uniquely possesses four ammo bars instead of the standard three, allowing her to spam her main attack in quick succession before the enemy even has time to react.
  • Super-Speed: Her playstyle revolves around this. She's fast on her feet, her blaster is fast as well, and her Super boosts her and her allies' speed for a short amount of time. Her Sneaky Sneakers Gadget suggests she can become so fast she can essentially blink back in time.
  • Super Wrist-Gadget: She attacks by shooting energy blasts out of blasters she's got mounted on her wrists.
  • Super Zeroes: Both her and Meg's description imply Max and Surge aren't actually very good superheroes, acting more like celebrities the crowd can look up to while Meg takes care of the real problems behind the scenes.
  • Time Rewind Mechanic: A variation. Her Sneaky Sneakers Gadget allows Max to rewind back to the place she activated the Gadget after 3 seconds, recovering any damage she received in the meantime. It doesn't prevent her from being defeated though.

    Pam

Release Date: 04/09/2017
Voiced by: Jennifer Wydra
Alternate Skins: Holiday Pam, Evil Queen Pam, Stonks Pam, True Silver/Gold Pam

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pam_bs_full_body.png
"Wham bam, here comes Pam!"
Pam handles an enormous workload at the junkyard and always gets it done! It's just a shame it keeps her away from her daughter, Jessie...

An Epic Brawler, and part of the Junker Family trio along with Jessie and Nani. She's a motherly Southern-Fried Genius specialized in building machinations out of junk found in her own scrapyard.

Pam is a Supporter centered towards passive and gradual means of healing teammates instead of more direct ones like other healers, making far better at dealing against enemies specialized in Damage Over Time or with insufficient DPS.

  • Her Attack, Scrapstorm, shoots a burst of 9 pieces of scrap metal in a spread-out volley that sweeps from left to right twice. This wide spread allows it to hit multiple enemies, but makes it very inconsistent and inaccurate when dealing with one single target at a range, although very potent in close quarters.
  • Her Super, Mama's Kiss, deploys a turret that passively heals both Pam and allies in a medium-sized radius around it. This healing can only be applied to allied Brawlers, not spawnables.
  • Her first Gadget, Pulse Modulator, will instantly heal all allies inside the radius of Pam's turret for 35% of the turret's maximum health. Pam needs to be within 12 tiles of her turret to activate this Gadget.
  • Her second Gadget, Scrapsucker, will make the projectiles from her next attack remove 25% of the enemies' maximum ammo, giving 50% of the stolen ammo to Pam in return. If an enemy's ammo bar is empty, Pam will not receive any more ammo even if the projectiles hit them, but Pam can still remove enemies' ammo even if her ammo bar is full.
  • Her first Star Power, Mama's Hug, will make Pam emit a pulse whenever she hits an enemy Brawler with her main attack, healing both Pam and allies around her 1% of her maximum health per scrap hit, for a total of 9% of her maximum health if all scrap pieces impact.
  • Her second Star Power, Mama's Squeeze, allows her turret to inflict damage equal to its healing per second if an enemy stands within the healing station's healing radius. This affects both enemy Brawlers and spawnables.
  • Her Mythic Gear, Super Turret, increases the healing coming from Pam's turret by 20%.

  • Abnormal Ammo: She attacks by firing nuts and bolts out of her machine gun-like scrap dispenser.
  • Action Mom: She is Jessie's mother. Brawling seems to run in the family.note
  • Attack Animal: Her Evil Queen skin uses a firebreathing dragon she's got trapped in a cage as her main weapon.
  • Bad People Abuse Animals: Her Evil Queen skin uses an enslaved, fearful-looking dragon she keeps locked in a cage as a weapon. Her defeat animation also shows her choking it in frustration.
  • Beach Episode: In her Holiday skin, where she sports a polka dot swimsuit, a pair of Cool Shades, attacks with a water cannon, and her turret takes the appearance of a cooler full of drinks.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: She is noticeably chubbier than every other female Brawler, but manages to be as beautiful as most of them.
  • Briefcase Full of Money: She carries one around in her Stonks skin, which also serves as her healing turret. The briefcase ends up losing all of its money in her defeat animation.
  • Combat Medic: Pam is a mostly a healing-oriented Brawler, with her Super, her Pulse Modulator Gadget, her Mama's Hug Star Power, and her Mythic Gear all revolving around healing herself and her allies from harm. While her damage tends to steer towards the below average side, she can nevertheless put up a good fight between her Tank-levels of HP and all of her aforementioned healing methods.
  • Dark Is Evil: Her Evil Queen skin acquires a darker color palette, turning her hair entirely black and giving her a purple queen dress.
  • The Engineer: The scrapyard she owns is apparently where she gets the parts to build her tools and equipment.
  • Evil Costume Switch: In her Evil Queen skin, which turns her into an animal-abusing tyrant with a darker color palette.
  • Fiery Redhead: She's a quite loud and passionate, with a red hair to match.
  • Gatling Good: Pam serves as the game's standard mini-gunner, shooting a barrage of 9 projectiles that spread out the further they travel and sweep from side to side. While this means Pam deals almost Scratch Damage at max distance, the wide area her projectiles cover make her pretty effective at slowly chipping enemies away while preventing them from healing if they are in her line of sight.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: Turns into a Card-Carrying Villain in her Evil Queen skin, complete with a couple of Evil Laughs added to her vocabulary.
"Wham bam, here comes Evil Pam!"
  • Harmful Healing: Her Mama's Squeeze Star Power will damage enemies who walk into her turret's range, making it an effective tool for controlling areas of the map if placed behind a cover.
  • Life Drain: Her Mama's Hug Star Power will slightly heal Pam and allies around it for ach projectile she hits an enemy with.
  • Mana Drain: Her Scrapsucker Gadget will make her next attack remove 25% of the enemies' maximum ammo for each projectile she hits, with 50% of the stolen ammo being returned to Pam.
  • Making a Splash: She attacks with a water cannon in her Holiday skin.
  • More Dakka: Her scrap cannon spews a hailstorm of nuts and bolts like a minigun.
  • Playing with Fire: Her Evil Queen skin uses a dragon to spit fire at enemies as her main attack.
  • Southern-Fried Genius: She's a hillbilly who's also smart enough to have built a scrap-shooting gun, a healing turret, and even a robot, as she's been stated to be Nani's creator.
  • Stone Wall: Pam has a lot of HP coupled with a handful of ways to constantly heal herself, making her a very durable Brawler, especially against opponents lacking sufficient burst damage to bring her down. However, thanks to her Gatling Good mechanic, her damage tends to be on the average side unless she manages to close the gap between her and her opponents, which can be easier said than done if she's facing against enemies with longer range and/or damage than her.
  • Stout Strength: She's a Big Beautiful Woman who's packing a bit of muscle on her arms, and her health points can be compared to those of a Tank.
  • Team Mom: Pam is an Action Mom whose some of her abilities are named after motherly things (Mama's Kiss for her Super, Mama's Hug and Mama's Squeeze for both Star Powers). As a Combat Medic, she's also one of the most healing-focused Support Brawlers in the game, only tied with Poco, Byron, and possibly Doug.
  • The Turret Master: Her Super is a turret that will steadily heal allies in a medium-sized radius around it.
  • When You Coming Home, Dad?: Her description implies she's quite absent in Jessie's life, as working in her scrapyard consumes most of her time.

    Poco

Release Date: 15/06/2017 (Original)
Voiced by: Darren Roebuck
Alternate Skins: Serenade Poco, Pirate Poco, Poco Starr, Trash Poco, Desperado Poco, CCTV Poco, True Silver/Gold Poco

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/poco_bs_full_body.png
"Let's get this party started!"
Poco believes music can change people's lives. He's so enthusiastic about it that he never stops playing, even after people ask him to!

A Rare Brawler, and part of the Mexican Entertainers trio along with El Primo and Amber. Poco is a cheerful skeletal mariachi who attacks his foes and protects his buddies with "the power of music," serving as the game's standard, easy-to-master healer before moving onto the most complex support classes.

  • His Attack, Power Chord, releases a wave of musical notes from Poco's guitarrrón that spread out as it travels, allowing it to cover a very large area and pierce multiple enemies. However, its damage is rather low.
  • His Super, Encore, shoots an even larger wave of musical notes that covers a wider area than his main attack in the same shape. Both Poco and allied Brawlers caught in this wave will be healed by a great amount of health. This Super can travel through walls.
  • His first Gadget, Turning Fork, releases a musical wave in a small radius around Poco. Both Poco and allies caught in this wave will heal for 10% of Poco's maximum health every second for 5 seconds, for a total of 50% of his maximum health recovered without taking debuffs into account.
  • His second Gadget, Protective Tunes, cleanses allies around Poco of all negative Status Effects. This includes being poisoned, burned, stunned, slowed down, gradually frozen by Lou, electrified by Belle, and silenced by Otis. After Brawlers are cleansed, they will be immune to these effects for 4 seconds.
  • His first Star Power, Da Capo!, allows Poco's main attack to heal allied Brawlers it hits for 13% of his maximum health, in addition to damaging enemies.
  • His second Star Power, Screeching Solo, allows his Super to deal damage to enemy Brawlers in range, in addition to healing allies. The damage dealt will be the same as one of Poco's main attacks.

  • Anti-Debuff: His Protective Tunes Gadget will cleanse and protect Poco and teammates around him against negative status effects and debuffs.
  • Back from the Dead: His CCTV skin gives Poco the appearance he had before dying thanks to Starr Park's magical gems.
  • Bandito: The theme of his Desperado skin, which is part of a skin set about a band of thieves operating in The Wild West.
  • Body Horror: The moment Poco becomes a skeleton in the security tapes, his skin is seen directly melting away, leaving only his bones.
  • Boring, but Practical: Compared to other Support/Healer Brawlers, Poco lacks any particular gimmicks to make him stand out among the rest, having very basic mechanics and gameplay to go with him probably being one of the earliest Brawlers the player will get. That being said, his acceptable range, useful support Gadgets and Star Powers, and easy-to-land Super can make of him an enticing choice for a healer despite his unexciting gameplay.
  • Broomstick Quarterstaff: His guitarrón takes the appearance of a broom in his Pirate skin.
  • Calacas: The main inspiration for his design. Fittingly, since he's part of the Mexican Entertainers trio.
  • Combat Medic: Even when dealing rather low damage, Poco can nevertheless put up a good fight thanks to his wide range and nearly-invincibility when constantly cycling through his Super.
  • Dem Bones: He's a skeleton mariachi designed to resemble a calaca.
  • Dub Name Change: He's called Pocho in the Italian version.
  • Friendly Skeleton: Poco is quite friendly and easy-going. Notably, unlike most Brawlers, he lacks any lines that could be considered mocking or insulting upon defeating an enemy (with one of them even asking if they can still be friends), and most of his kit revolves around healing or protecting his teammates from harm.
  • Ghost Pirate: In his Pirate skin, which turns him into a pirate while retaining his skeletal motif.
  • Gradual Regeneration: His Turning Fork Gadget will gradually heal teammates caught in it radius for 5 seconds.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: Subverted. Despite being part of the Mexican Entertainers trio (whose other members, Amber and El Primo, speak a lot of Spanish in their lines), Poco has no lines fully spoken in Spanish. The closest one is "Poco goes loco!" ("Poco goes crazy!"), and even then, it's only a half of it.
  • Healing Shiv: His Da Capo! Star Power will allow Poco to heal allies with his main attack in addition to damaging enemies.
  • Heart Beat-Down: His musical notes take the appearance of hearts in his Serenade skin.
  • Improbable Weapon User: He attacks with a guitarrón that plays chords with "bone-jarring" sound waves.
  • Incessant Music Madness: According to his description, Poco plays his guitarrón so frequently people get fed up and ask him to stop. He doesn't, but only because he loves music so much and not out of any maliciousness or deliberate want to annoy people.
  • Magic Music: Poco's kit is mainly themed/named after musical terms, which he uses to either damage his enemies or heal his allies with the "power of music."
  • The Medic: Poco's attacks deal rather low damage, and while he can sometimes become a Combat Medic against enemies with insufficient offensive power to outdamage his healing, he's better suited at providing his allies with means of survivability at the expense of not being able to put up a good fight himself.
  • Musical Assassin: Downplayed. As a Support, Poco is more focused on healing than hurting, but he can still deal damage by using music as a weapon. However, his Screeching Solo Star Power deserves a special mention due to adding a hefty damage value to his otherwise harmless Super, giving him a bit more of offensive presence.
  • Punk Rock: The theme of his Trash skin, which is part of a punk band called the Bad Randoms with Stu and Buzz.
  • Ship Tease: Gets some of this with Emz in promotional material. Willow's introduction video even shows them taking a ride through the Tunnel of Love together. In-game, his (old) portrait is displayed on Emz's phone screen.
  • Skeletal Musician: He plays a Mexican guitarrón, which is also his weapon.
  • Something about a Rose: He carries around a rose in his mouth in his Serenade skin.
  • Stone Wall: Poco has one of the lowest damage outputs in the game, but high health points and abilities to heal himself of incoming damage.
  • Support Party Member: Exaggerated. Other than Doug, Poco is perhaps the most support-oriented Brawler in the game, having a rather sizable health pool and a variety of healing and anti-debuffing tools at his disposal at the cost of average speed and low damage. Even then, his main attack's wide range and piercing damage can be more than enough for slowly weakening enemies away for his teammates to finish off while Poco builds his Super to quickly get them back in the fight.
  • The Rock Star: Becomes one in his Trash skin, even using an electric guitar instead of his guitarrón.
  • Valentine's Day Episode: The theme of his Serenade skin, which dresses Poco in a white, romantic serenade outfit with heart motifs.

    Ruffs

Release Date: 01/02/2021
Voiced by: Blythe Melin
Alternate Skins: Ronin Ruffs, Marshal Ruffs, Ruffs Chimmy, True Silver/Gold Ruffs

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ruffs_bs_full_body.png
"When the going gets rough, Ruff gets tough!"
Ruffs is a loyal, highly disciplined space colonel who runs a tight ship and does everything by the book. But deep down, he just wants to be a good boy!

A Mythic Brawler, and part of the Starr Force trio along with Squeak and Eve. He's an anthropomorphic dog with a stern, no-nonsense attitude and commander of the Starr Force spatial army.

Ruffs' main appeal as a Support Brawler is his ability to directly buff his teammates with extra firepower and health over the course of the match, allowing him to steadily strengthen his team for the later portions of the game.

  • His Attack, Double-Barrel Laser, fires two lasers simultaneously parallel to each other. These lasers can bounce off walls up to 3 times independently of each other, slightly increasing their range with every bounce.
  • His Super, Supply Drop, throws a beacon that summons a supply drop after a 1-second delay, damaging and knocking back enemies around it. This supply drop, which can be picked up by both Ruffs and his teammates, will increase basic attack damage (and healing and Super damage if applicable) by 20% and maximum health by 700 while also healing the same amount in the process. Only one supply drop at a time can be active on the map, and using this Super again when there is already a supply drop on the field will remove the current one. However, there can be multiple buffed teammates. A teammate cannot pick up more than one supply drop, and the buff disappears if they are defeated or another round starts in any round-based game mode.
  • His first Gadget, Take Cover, spawns three immobile sandbags in a triangle formation around Ruffs that have 35% of his max health each and can block non-piercing projectiles.
  • His second Gadget, Air Support, will telegraph 9 missile strikes onto the nearest enemy in the form of 9 indicator targets scattered around them in quick succession. These indicator targets stay on the ground for 2.5 seconds before they start firing off the missiles, each one dealing damage equal to one of his main attack projectiles and knocking back enemies. These missiles do not destroy obstacles and are fired in order of their indicators' appearance, with the indicator disappearing after the projectile hits the ground.
  • His first Star Power, Air Superiority, allows Ruff's Super to deal 120% more damage and destroy obstacles around it.
  • His second Star Power, Field Promotion, increases all allied Brawlers' maximum health in a radius around Ruffs by 30 health per second. This doesn’t apply to Ruffs himself, and if any affected allies die or another round starts in any round-based game mode, their maximum health will reset.

  • Colonel Badass: He's the colonel of the Starr Force, and a very capable fighter to boot. It should be noted that his full name used to be Colonel Ruffs before being shortened to just Ruffs.
  • Death from Above: Both his Super and his Air Support Gadget involve Ruffs summoning projectiles from the sky to crash onto his enemies, although they have a bit of delay before touching the ground, giving objectives time to move away from the impact area.
  • Deployable Cover: His Take Cover Gadget summons three sandbags around Ruffs that will protect either him or allies against non-piercing attacks.
  • Dub Name Change: In the French localization he's called Médor, and the Italian version calls him Ringhio.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Sports one in all of his appearances except his Ronin skin.
  • Fully-Dressed Cartoon Animal: He's an anthropomorphic dog who goes dressed in a full colonel outfit.
  • Funny Animal: He's an anthropomorphic talking dog who occasionally woofs, howls and wails while he's speaking.
  • Glass Cannon: While Ruffs is a bit on the fragile side, his fast reload and unload speed coupled with above average offense can make him a pretty capable fighter in spite of being a Support class. It doesn't hurt he can pick up his own boosts if necessary, making him slightly less squishy and more powerful.
  • Longevity Treatment: His Field Promotion Star Power steadily increases the maximum health points of allies around Ruffs by 30 per second. Particularly useful in passive and less frantic game modes such as Knockout and Bounty, where Ruffs and his teammates can afford to wait behind cover while being buffed by him.
  • Only Sane Man: Among the Starr Force trio. When your trio members are a goofy, gibberish-speaking blob of drool and a motherly alien flea who uses her own babies to attack, being a stern no-nonsense Colonel Badass will surely make you stand out as the only one with your feet on the ground.
  • Pinball Projectile: Much like Rico, Ruff's projectiles can bounce off walls, allowing him to target enemies while hiding behind cover. It should be noted that Ruff's projectiles don't bounce as much as Rico's, though.
  • Ray Gun: He attacks with a ray gun that shoots bouncing blasts of energy.
  • Rōnin: The theme of his aptly named Ronin skin, which dresses Ruffs in a space-themed samurai outfit with a katana.
  • Shout-Out: His Chimmy skin is directly based on the character of the same name from BT21 UNIVERSE.
  • Status Buff: His main gimmick as a Support Brawler is providing his teammates with these using his Super, buffing their damage and HP by a fair amount and making them bigger threats in the long run as long as they don't lose it by dying. If Ruff manages to buff both of his teammates and himself without losing the boosts, they can potentially curb-stomp the opposition with their superior stats.
  • Stealth Pun: He's a dog in charge of a space force designed to combat spatial threats, and his biggest enemy, Eve, is an alien flea. In other words, a flea is invading a dog.
  • U.S. Marshal: Becomes one in his (duh) Marshal skin, gaining a cowboy hat and operating in The Wild West town/attraction of Starr Park.
