"Code name, Phantom. The Phantom Behind the Curtain, Gaspard de la Nuit. Tell me, who are your enemies, and where do they hide?"

Formerly a member of a travelling troupe of performers, the man known as Phantom is now known as an enigmatic, lone Victorian assassin with unprecedented stealth and terrifying voice-based Arts.

  • A Day in the Limelight: He is brought to the spotlight in the second iteration of the Integrated Strategies event, "Phantom and Crimson Solitaire" with his past and his affiliation with the traveling troupe he is once a part of being brought to focus.
    • The description of his "Miss Christine's Felt" module is set before his "debut" on the Crimson Troupe's stage, and shows that he regularly visited Miss Christine before he invited her to "walk with" him and named her.
  • Advertised Extra: Even though his banner debuted alongside Darknights' Memoir and he's the narrator of the event's animation PV, Phantom makes no story appearance in the event.
  • The Aloner: Phantom mentions that he used to travel with a small group of friends, implying that they were killed off by the Oripathy incident that made him Infected.
    • "Phantom and Crimson Solitaire" reveals that the truth was quite different: his "friends" were his mentors in the Crimson Troupe, and he murdered them after he discovered that they were "hopeless villains".
  • All Your Powers Combined: Several of Phantom's skills let him stand in for many of his Fast-Redeploy classmates.
    • Phantom's S1, Phantom of the Night, lets him deploy with a Deflector Shield based on his HP as well as temporary physical dodge, allowing him to fill in where Gravel would normally be needed. He gets more mileage out of this than her despite his much weaker shield, however, due to his S1's physical evasion buff, and the effects will remain constant until the skill expires, whereas Gravel's S2 will gradually decay into nothingness. However, Gravel's S2 still has the advantage of being able to block all types of damage instead, as Phantom's shield does nothing against Arts or True damage.
    • His S2, Bloody Opus, grants him multiple layers of stacked attack buffs, with each attack consuming a layer (in other words, his attacks will start strong, but will gradually become weaker as he lands more attacks), which can help Phantom in dealing with high-priority targets in place of Projekt Red and Waai Fu. Furthermore, Phantom's S2 takes effect immediately upon deployment and has infinite duration until all of the stacked attack buff layers have been consumed, whereas Projekt Red and Waai Fu's S1 has a small delay before activating and the attack buff itself only last 10 seconds, which can be detrimental if they get disrupted (ie. getting frozen) during the skill duration.
    • His S3, Night Raid, deals immediate damage upon deployment, while also pushing enemies around and applying a random CC effect to them, making him a potential replacement for Projekt Red and Waai Fu in this function when a consistent stun or skill-sealing is not needed.
  • Animal Motifs: Cats, due to his Feline race. Despite this, his cat ears are hidden under his hood (much like Popukar) and his tail is hard to see. A single black cat, whom he addresses as "Miss Christine", accompanies him while in battle, resting on his shoulder, as well as multiple appear in his E2 other than Christine, although you'll have to see the full artwork to spot all of them. Interestingly, he's also the only lynx besides Kal'tsit in the game.
  • Badass Cape: He wears a tattered black one.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: Much more noticeable in his Elite 2 artwork. Makes sense, considering his former career as a member of a performing troupe - which his E2 art depicts.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: Discussed in his max trust voice line where he speaks of how there is "someone" trying to influence and control his mind and also ordering him to kill the Doctor. "Phantom and Crimson Solitaire" reveals that the Host of the Crimson Troupe has a lingering influence on Phantom. Said influence was only temporarily dormant when Phantom broke away from the Troupe, pursued Shalem, and joined Rhodes Island, and it being active again leads into the event. The secret final ending shows that the influence has become dormant once more, for now...
  • Brown Note: His Arts-empowered voice can induce psychological damage, with the severity of said damage depending on the emotion he puts into his voice. It is to the extent that some observers are literally driven to insanity, and some of the words he utters have to be partially censored.
  • Coat, Hat, Mask: His Elite 2 artwork has him complement his coat and the mask in his hand with a fedora, though his sprite does not follow suit. His "Dream Within a Dreammare" skin has him wear a hat that wouldn't look out of place in Bloodborne, with his clone in that skin also sporting a wide-brimmed fedora.
  • Cool Mask: He has a rather neat opera mask that he carries with him.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Despite his appearance and behavior that tends to spook people, Phantom is not only benign but remarkably selfless in nature, with a tendency to actively put himself in danger to protect other Operators during missions. His preference to keep a distance from others is also due to not wanting other people to be caught up in his bloody and dangerous history.
  • Doppleganger Attack: His trait allows him to deploy a clone named "Phantom in the Mirror", which shares the same skill he is currently using, while having an independent redeployment time. Promoting him to Elite 2 will reduce its deployment time and grant the clone a stat boost. Notably, unlike the summons of some Supporter operators, the clone will return into your deployment inventory if it is killed or retreated; when redeployed, the clone will have its skill refreshed and ready for use again. Furthermore, the clone can be redeployed as many times as long as Phantom is still active on the battlefield and there is still a slot left in the unit limit; the clone will also retain its low cost of 5 DP, whereas Phantom's own can go up to 20 DP (without potential upgrades) if he is redeployed often.
  • Dual Wielding: He dual wields twin knives as his main weapon, much like fellow Fast-Redeploy operators Gravel and Projekt Red. A close look at the knives sheathed at Phantom's waist in his initial artwork shows the Rim Billiton logo emblazoned on the hilts.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: Gameplay-wise on Global servers, he becomes briefly playable during the Tribulation Mode version of TW-S-1 in the Twilight of Wolumonde event, due to said event being pushed up before his debut banner. His profile image is also displayed in the Network Archives, albeit as a generic silhouette much like other unrecruited operators. He shares this distinction with W.
  • Foreshadowing: One of Phantom's max trust voice lines mention how someone is trying to control him and tells the Doctor that he needed to seek the truth before he can continue to stay in Rhodes Island as the Doctor's assassin. This comes to a head in "Phantom and Crimson Solitaire", where the Host of the Crimson Troupe finally took control of Phantom again and brought him back to the troupe as an actor and assassin. Phantom must be fought as the Final Boss of the Normal Ending to stop the Host's brainwashing on him.
  • The Friend Nobody Likes: His archive file mentions that many of the workers at Rhodes Island are scared of him, noting that he often suddenly appears behind them without warning, to the point that the security systems had to be updated. Even the normally laid-back and friendly Closure became aggravated at Phantom and forbid him from entering the landship without permission, considering it far too arrogant for him. Schwarz, who is a hardened hitwoman herself, notes that something is off about him, describing him as having not awakened from a nightmare yet, and can only suggest to stay away from him. The one operator who gets along with him just fine is Whisperain, as shown in his Operator Record.
    • In his side story in Rewinding Breeze, a Human Resources operator confronts Phantom over the accuracy of his given birth place, Calais-Blason, since no such nomadic city or area seems to exist in Victoria. She then tells Phantom that "lying" about given information does not help build trust with others.
    • In his Operator Record, Folinic chastises Phantom for not reporting his injuries to the Medical Department, considering it irresponsible to both Rhodes Island and himself. She even warns Phantom that she will sound the alarm if he tries to use his voice Arts to escape her treatment session.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: The story of "Phantom and Crimson Solitaire" involves Phantom going missing and being brainwashed by the host of the Crimson Troupe to become their assassin again. Due to how recruitment works in Intergrated Strategies, this doesn't stop you from recruiting Phantom if you get a voucher to recruit a Specialist operator or borrow a support Phantom from a friend and use him to fight against his own self on the fifth floor.
  • The Ghost: A literal example. His third Operator Archive File mentions that he rarely makes himself known to Rhodes Island at large. Many of its operators think that he doesn't exist, and the people who do know and have met him can be counted on one hand. The writer of that file also mentions that they were only able to find Phantom through the Doctor.
  • Image Song: "Curtain Call".
  • In the Hood: He wears one of these.
  • Make Some Noise: The Originium crystals deep in his throat gave him the ability to psychologically damage living beings with the emotional tone of his voice. He wears a Power Limiter around his neck to keep this ability under control.
  • Multiple-Tailed Beast: Phantom himself only has one tail, but Miss Christine has two tails like a nekomata.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: His shift upon deployment pushes enemies away to his right and to his left. This can lead into accidentally nudging them into your base.
  • Not the Intended Use: Despite being a Fast-Redeploy Specialist who needs to be redeployed repeatedly to make efficient use of his kit, via the use of his clone, his S2, and his fast attack speed, it is possible to use him as an adequate (albeit suboptimal) pseudo-Brawler Guard. Due to the nature of his clone, Phantom is the only one of his subclass that can technically use his skills multiple times without retreating, by deploying the clone to assist with his DPS when needed even if his own buffs have expired. This gives him somewhat decent staying value unlike his lower rarity counterparts barring Jaye. Playing him this way though, requires significant investment in his stats and skill masteries, as well as leaving a vacant deployment slot in order for his clone to be deployed.
  • Professional Killer: He was an independent assassin operating in/around Victoria after killing his mentors in the Crimson Troupe and breaking away from them.
  • "Psycho" Strings: His appearance into battlefield is accompanied by a sudden screech of a musical instrument commonly used in a horror show, thought the sound effect of "Night raid" may overwrite it.
  • Red Baron: He was previously known as "Solitaire" during his initial time with the Crimson Troupe. While brainwashed a second time, he gets the name "Blood Diamond".
  • Significant Birth Date: He shares a birthday with gothic author Edgar Allan Poe. One of the latter's best-known works is "The Black Cat".
  • Sinister Scythe: Not Phantom himself, but while wearing his "Dream Within A Dreammare" skin, his clone wields a scythe instead of knives.
  • Split Personality: Implied. It is yet unknown if it's this trope or if it's more akin to Fighting from the Inside, but several of his lines are voiced with a different tone than others, much like Nightmare, who genuinely has Dissociative Identity Disorder. The tags on his costume also read 'the mirror - I am there inside, I am inside your mind', which is also a line from the opera he references.
  • Shout-Out Theme Naming: "Phantom" describes his all-black attire due to him being based on a black cat, and is a Shout-Out to The Phantom of the Opera. He even has a Cool Mask and a cat he refers to as "Miss Christine" to further drive the reference home. He was also taught to sing by a mentor who "rarely shows in person beyond giving him instruction".
  • Taking the Bullet: Phantom has a tendency to do this for allies to the point that he's known to sustain injuries more fit for Defender operators. His self-deprecating nature also means that he does this in as subtle a way as possible, to the point that most Operators notice someone always appears to save them in the nick of time but can't tell who.
  • Undying Loyalty: At max trust, Phantom considers himself as an assassin loyal to the Doctor and willing to kill for them.
Phantom: I can end many lives for you, but I first need you to confirm that I am awake. Something is trying to influence me. It doesn't want me to leave the stage. It wants my song to echo forever... and it wants me to kill you. Before I play the role of your assassin once more, I must discover the truth.

Rarity: ★★★★★
ID: No. 144
Subclass: Executor
Tags: Fast-Redeploy, Crowd-Control
Skills: Execution Mode, Wolfpack
Talents: Chill
Affiliation: S.W.E.E.P - Rhodes Island
Race: Lupo
Birthday: August 25
Height: 162cm

"I, Projekt Red, wolf hunter, smell wolves."

A self-proclaimed "wolf hunter" and an extremely proficient assassin who works directly under Kal'tsit.

  • Actress Allusion: This isn't the first time Ami Koshimizu has voiced a white-haired character illustrated by Infukunnote . Arknights and Girls' Frontline were even made by some of the same people.
  • Animal Motifs: Wolves, due to her Lupo race, and her Elite 2 artwork shows Projekt Red near a gray wolf. These reinforce her allusions to Red Riding Hood.
  • Color Blind Confusion: Some Medic operators believe that Red has color blindness, judging from that time when she finds it difficult to organize randomly-arranged objects.
  • Difficult, but Awesome: She's got very low HP, on par with those of lower-leveled Vanguards, but she makes up in that for a very low deployment cost and time, and a relatively useful second skill.
  • The Dreaded: The other Lupo operators show strong reactions to Red being in the area, from being wary of her to outright terror. This is despite the fact that she doesn't identify any Lupo operators as wolves she hunts, and that she just want to touch their tails.
Provence: W-what's that red one doing...? I... can't stop trembling... uh... Doctor, can you lend me your arm? I'd feel much safer that way...
Lappland: That red one... Oh... Doctor, keep her away from me! She'd definitely kill me in a fight. But I have this feeling... this feeling... ugh, why do I want to fight her so badly?!
Texas: Be aware of the Red Wolf. She's not evil, but... she's not like us.
  • Dynamic Entry: Her 2nd skill allows her to damage and stun nearby enemies as she gets air-dropped.
  • Expy: Not only of the Red Riding Hood, but also of Geralt of Rivia, evident from her no-nonsense attitude, wolf motif, physical appearance, and her very name referencing CD Projekt RED, the developer of The Witcher video games.
  • The Ghost: In Chapter 4, Projekt Red gets name-called twice to assist our heroes, first by accompanying Amiya in the Lungmen slums, and second when she accompanies Kal'tsit in her investigation within the same slums. But in both occassions, Red is just called, she doesn't have any dialogue lines, nor is her artwork shown at all.
  • God Was My Copilot: She's the Fang of the beast god known as "Grandmother" and acts as her personal champion and agent in the mortal world.
  • Hates Being Touched: Not so much that Red has an issue with physical contact per se so much as that she'll reflexively attack anything that comes too close to her. It's implied that publicly available operator files at Rhodes Islands warn everyone against unexpectedly approaching her lest they provoke her into cutting them on instinct.
Frostleaf: What happens to things that get into five centimeters of you?
    Projekt Red: I cut them.
  • Herd-Hitting Attack: The reason Projekt Red has the "Crowd-Control" tag is because of her S2 Wolfpack; at Skill Level 1, she does 140% ATK as Physical damage to everyone immediately around her upon hitting the field, and stuns them for 1 second. It doesn't seem like much, but come Level 7, the skill does 200% of her ATK as Physical damage, and stuns her targets for 2 seconds...and that's before you get into specializations for it.
  • Hunter Of Her Own Kind: Implied. She refers to herself as a "wolf hunter" despite being a Lupo herself. Other Lupus operators either try to avoid her or show hostile reactions to her.
    • And in a more general sense, it's heavily implied she's this to fellow Rhodes Island personnel as well due to being a member of S.W.E.E.P., Rhodes Island's counterintelligence unit meant to deal with spies and traitors.
  • In-Series Nickname: "Reaper in Red Riding Hood"
  • Insistent Terminology: Refers to the prey she hunts as "wolves", which is entirely ambiguous as to whether she means it literally or metaphorically. A brief aside comment about referring to Talulah as a potential "wolf" (presumably sniffing out Kashchey's possession of her) to kill and her actions during her cameo in IL Siracusano however implies that what she is actually hunting are immortal beings that prey on people over specifically Lupos. She's also Grandmother's personal Fang, making her part of the long-term game between the wolf gods of Signori dei Lupi.
  • Little Red Fighting Hood:
    • Between her clothing, wolf motif, and association with someone called "Grandma". She's also personally selected by Dr. Kal'tsit herself to serve as Rhodes Island's special operative, cementing her talents in combat.
    • The allusion isn't lost on her fellow operators. Ifrit outright nicknames her Little Red Riding Hood, or Hood for short.
  • Murder Is the Best Solution: Her first instinct when facing a threat to either herself or Rhodes Island is to kill it on the spot, regardless of who they may be. It takes Frostleaf separating Red and Ifrit when the latter is having a fit to keep Red from trying to attack her fellow operator for being a perceived danger to the facility.
  • Red Baron: In a literal sense for half of the trope's name. She is simply called "Red", "The Red Wolf", or "The Red One" by some Lupo operators such as Provence, Texas and Lappland. Other unnamed Operators, taking note of her track record of deployment in high risk missions, have nicknamed her the "Reaper in a Red Riding Hood".
  • Psycho Knife Nut: She uses throwing knives as her weapon of choice, and is implied to have psychological issues, not the least being her attachment to this "Grandma" figure.
  • Red Riding Hood Replica: She's a specialist operator who is, ironically, of the Lupo race (which is based on wolves), and wears a red, hooded jacket. Because, story-wise, her involvement usually indicates a mission with high potential for casualties and losses, she's infamously known as the "Reaper in a Red Riding Hood" amongst some of her colleagues.
  • Scratch Damage: Subverted with her talent, Chill, which effectively increases the threshold of Scratch Damage, meaning the bare minimum damage on hit (which is normally 5%) is set to a larger percentage (between 20% and 33% based on her level and potential) of her attack stat.
  • Shrinking Violet: When not threatened or on a mission, Red is shown to be a fairly shy and awkward individual. Frostleaf is caught off guard when Red approaches her to ask for help with her homework and explains that she likes asking Frostleaf for help more than the Doctor, despite the Doctor presumably being a better teacher, because she speaks in a softer voice.
  • Spock Speak: Adding to her feral nature, Red always talks in short sentences.
  • Starter Mon: She's one of the four free 5-star operators that the player could pick after creating a new account around the game's launch as a gift for the game reaching 1 million pre-registration. The other options were Silence, Pramanix, and Liskarm.
  • Super-Senses: After a battery of testing, medical staff found that she somehow has unique cognitive abilities, and can organize randomly arranged objects and in a specific way. While further studies on Projekt Red were suspended, initial tests generated a wide range of speculations on her abilities ranging from a genetic mutation to being an inherent and highly unique Originium talent.

Specialist Operator Robin, a city girl.
Rarity: ★★★★★
ID: No. 451
Subclass: Trapmaster
Tags: Summon, Shift
Skills: Binding "Clip", Launching "Clip"
Talents: "Clip" Specialist
Affiliation: Columbia
Race: Anaty
Birthday: May 18
Height: 155cm

"Nice to meet you, Doctor. I'm a new Operator. Robin's the name. I've got money issues, so if it's okay with you, you can send me to do whatever."

A former Columbian bodyguard who tirelessly works to raise money for her ailing father. She played a key role in the Mansfield prison break.

  • Animal Motifs: Raccoons. This makes her the only Anaty to not be based on a mustelid, but a procyonid. This implies that the Anaty race is actually based on the Musteloidea superfamily as a whole, and not just mustelids alone.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: She had a rough childhood when her father's business failed, causing him to fall into depression and alcoholism and forcing her mother to leave. With the family broke and her father's health declining, Robin was forced to resort to crime to pay for his medical bills which is how she ended up in Mansfield State Prison. Or at least, that's her cover story for being in Mansfield. In truth, she went into the prison to assassinate Mountain.
  • The Ditherer: In the Mansfield Break event, MB-7 reveals Robin to be an Insecure version.
Robin: I'm tired. My mother wanted me to make a choice, my father wanted me to make a choice, life wanted me to make a choice, Jesselton wanted me to make a choice, and even you [Mountain] wanted me to make a choice. I don't wanna make any choices. I don't wanna judge what's right or what's wrong, good or bad. I just don't want to. I'm sick of it! Why do I have to choose?!
    • This comes to a head in MB-8: Jesselton gives Robin to the count of five to kill Mountain, who is standing down because a prisoner is holding Domma hostage; if she doesn't comply, he'll just kill them both. After Domma's suicide attempt to protect Mountain is foiled and Robin reflects on the speech Mountain gave her in response to the above rant, she realizes that her father chose to not recover from his failure. Swearing that she'll find her own way to pay for her father's medical bills (and commit suicide to apologize to him in hell if he dies before then), she begins taking charge of her own life with a proper Heel–Face Turn to Mountain's side, starting with a well-placed knife throw at Domma's captor.
  • Face of a Thug: Most of Rhodes Island's staff keep their distance from Robin due to her grumpy facial expressions, which give them the impression that she's up to no good, though it's just how she naturally looks, due to her tendency to think deeply.
  • Flechette Storm: Robin's basic attack has her throwing an endless supply of knives at her enemies.
  • Just Like Robin Hood: Elaborated on here.
  • Landmine Goes Click: Robin's skills have her place down landmines on a ground tile that will explode when an enemy steps on them, and either bind or push them back slightly. Mines cannot be placed on tiles already occupied by an enemy. Like the German S-Mines (also known as the Bouncing "Betty") that they're visually based on, they launch into the air before detonating.
  • Love Martyr: Robin knows that her father has turned into an abusive drunk because of her company's bankruptcy, but holds on the wish that if she pays for her father's medical bill, he will return into the gentle father she remembers. To reach this, she rejected her mother's offer to stay with her and abandon her father, accepted an assassination order kill a man she befriended, and essentially signed an indentured employee contract with Rhodes Island for his treatment. This causes some concerns among Rhodes Islanders - no matter if Robin's father is healthy again, as long as his personality remains rotten, Robin's problem will never end.
  • The Movie Buff: She's actually an ardent fan of movies, and tries to copy the moves of action heroes. This is also reflected in her E2 and skin artwork having movie references in them.
  • Situational Sword: When Twilight of Wolumonde got reran in December 2021, she rose in popularity because her traps can be placed outside her range, are easily replaceable by another trap if an enemy steps on it, and, most importantly, they are not targeted by hostile Gramophones.
  • Temporary Online Content: She is the welfare operator of the Mansfield Break event, and won't be obtainable once said event ends.
  • Trap Master: She's an expert at building traps and her skills revolve around her planting mines.
  • Shout-Out: The way the raccoons are sitting behind her in her E2 art resembled a famous scene from The Godfather. In her skin, they resemble The Good, the Bad and the Ugly instead.
  • Signed Up for the Dental: She joined Rhodes Island to secure medical care for her father. Part of her earnings are appropriated by Rhodes Island to pay off her father's medical bills.
  • You Killed My Father: Downplayed because her father is still alive. Jesselton tries to convince Robin to kill Mountain by revealing that it was Mountain's family who put her father out of business, resulting in his downward spiral into alcoholism and declining health.

Talents: Auditory Training

Race: Cautus
Birthday: April 4
Height: 155cm

"The name's Rope, nice to meet ya. Oh, here's your ID card, don't forget it. Huh? Why do I have it? That's a se-cret!"

A homeless Lungmen burglar who was caught after a botched job before being transferred to Rhodes Island.

  • Animal Motifs: She has rabbit ears, an evident trait from the Cautus race. However, rabbits appear in her summer skin rather than in her E2 art.
  • Boxed Crook: Was once a cat burglar who was caught and sent to Rhodes Island due to her skills.
  • Com Mons: Like fellow Specialist Shaw, she's a pretty common draw with respect to Hookmasters.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Being born into a poor family, she was kicked out of their house and had to steal in order to survive on the streets. She knows that stealing is wrong, but has accepted it because there was nothing else that she could do in order to eat and survive.
"Picking pockets to feed myself? Yeah, that was how I grew up. I didn't exactly have a choice... I'd have died otherwise."
  • Establishing Character Moment: As soon as she boards Rhodes Island, Rope already snatched the Doctor's ID in secret, then returning it to them afterwards. This hints her backstory as a pickpocket.
"The name's Rope, nice to meet ya. Oh, here's your ID card, don't forget it. Huh? Why do I have it? That's a se-cret!"
  • Misery Builds Character: She doesn't complain that much. She doesn't hate the world, nor curse the gods, because those acts won't feed her hungry stomach. This is a result of getting used to the situation in the slums where the poor had to steal in order to have something to eat.
  • Robbing the Dead: When the map has a 3-star result, her voiced line implies that she plans on looting the corpses.
  • Skewed Priorities: She actually loved prison because she'd get a free bed and meals, as compared to the crappier slums that she struggles to live in.
  • Sticky Fingers: Even though she is largely reformed from her criminal past, Rope still can't resist pickpocketing her fellow Operators and even the Doctor. Fortunately, she's at least polite enough to return the items she steals.
  • They Call Him "Sword": Her codename is Rope, and her weapon is also rope-based, specifically a grappling hook.

Skills: Steam Pump, High-Pressure Water Cannon
Talents: Fireproof Suit
Affiliation: Great Lungmen
Race: Zalak
Birthday: January 5
Height: 135cm

"Pleasuretomeetyou, Chief. IamShaw oftheLungmenFireDepartment, reportingforduty!"

A fast-talking firefighter from the Lungmen Fire Department.

  • Almighty Janitor: She's a regular firefighter with an emergency axe and a water hose, zero combat experience, and that's about it. Neither of these facts make her any less powerful.
  • Animal Motif: While the Zalak race references rodents, Shaw's specific motif is the Squirrel. They are also present in her Elite 2 artwork, playing in the background.
  • Armor Is Useless: Specifically, her fireman's coat does not protect her from Molotov cocktails. Her Fireproof Suit talent gives her up to 23 more RES, while enemy cocktail throwers deal Physical damage, which RES does nothing against. However, many other fire-based attacks and Burn damage are considered Arts, so it does protect against those.
  • Badass Normal: Unlike many of her peers at Rhodes Island, Shaw is completely "clean" and has no augmented abilities courtesy of Oripathy infection. She's still fully capable of swinging her axe hard enough to fell foes many times her size.
  • Com Mons: She's this in relation to Push Strokers.
  • Kill It with Water: Manifests in her skills, where Shaw uses her fire hose to push enemies to their Disney Villain Death with a high-pressure blast of water.
    • Steam Pump is an automatic skill that pushes the target slightly in the next attack, dealing 105% of her ATK as Physical damage at Skill Level 1.
    • High-Pressure Water Cannon is a manual skill that immediately pushes all enemies within two grids in front of her slightly, while dealing 180% of her ATK as Physical damage at Skill Level 1.
  • Lady Looks Like a Dude: Because of her baggy firefighter uniform and masculine codename, it's easy to mistake her for a boy.
  • Motor Mouth: Shespeaksincrediblyfastwith eventhetextgettingontheact withbarelyanyspacingusedinbetweenwords.note  She even somehow manages to say the one-word title of "Arknights" at a far faster pace than anyone else!
  • Odd Name Out: She's the only Lungmen operator to have a distinctly-Anglo name, whereas everyone else settle for aliases, and even then most of them are of Asian origin. A likely possibility is that her name is supposed to be "Xiāo" instead, which can be romanized as "Shaw", and both are pronounced similarly.
  • Pintsized Powerhouse: Shaw is bar none the tiniest operator in Arknights, only beaten by outright Durins. She's also fully capable of shoving enemies several times her size into Bottomless Pits to their Disney Villain Deaths. In bulk.
  • Starter Mon: She serves as this for the Specialist class as a whole, being given for free after beating map 1-12 for the first time.
  • Stronger Than They Look: Despite her diminutive stature, Shaw is capable of bracing a water hose that sprays jets of water at such force that it can push large opponents a considerable distance away. Anyone familiar with Newton's third law will appreciate her physical fortitude, as she's seemingly strong enough to stand her ground against the hose's counter-force, while those the size of small buildings are effortlessly washed away. Not to mention, such hoses are typically wielded by small teams of firemen in reality, while Shaw does it all by herself.
  • Weapons of Their Trade: She carries a fire axe (shortened to fit her stature) for melee attacks.

"Oww... my head! Sorry... Oh, y-you're the Doctor? It's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Snowsant. Sorry, I shouldn't be walking with my head down..."

A shy, hardworking Lungmen engineer with perpetual money problems, who temporarily moved to Columbia to pursue her research.

  • Animal Motifs: White-eared pheasants. The most telltale sign would be the red patches around their eyes, as shown in her Elite 2 CG. In fact, her Chinese name literally translates to Snow pheasant, the Chinese name for white-eared pheasants.
  • Extreme Doormat: One of her great weaknesses is her shyness and reluctance to stand up for herself. This allowed her to be exploited by the research institute she had previously worked for, who had secretly plagiarized and patented all of her research for themselves.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Her swimsuit has a crocodile clip on the left strap holding it together.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Snowsant is known for coming up with ideas for really impressive contraptions...that don't actually serve any purpose, such as a mechanical claw that doesn't release. She's considered the laughing stock of the Lungmen scientific community for this.
  • Irony: Snowsant's birthday also happens to be the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty of all things.
  • Just Think of the Potential!: Despite her kooky ideas described under Gadgeteer Genius, Snowsant has in fact come up with a lot of useful devices and designs as well. However, she doesn't see the tremendous potential in them, or the big money they would rake in for her had she just filed for patent registrations. Her fourth bio is basically Rhodes Island giving a collective Face Palm at the wasted potentials of her devices.
  • Odd Friendship: With Jessica, the resident rich cat. Their backgrounds and spending habits could not be any more different from each other, but despite this, they've somehow come together and became fast friends. Goodbye, Adele sees her becoming fast friends with Swire as well, the other resident rich cat.
  • Perpetual Poverty: No matter what happen, this girl will always be broke, constantly searching for some loose change under vending machines.
  • Temporary Online Content: Snowsant is the welfare operator for the Ancient Forge mini-event. Until its Record Restoration, anyone who had missed the event could not obtain her as a result.
  • The Scrooge: Snowsant was born into a lower-class family, and thus has severe issues with money. To be precise, she's terribly afraid of wasting money that she hardly ever spends any and is frugal in the extreme, to the point of frequently skipping meals just to avoid having to pay for anything. It's not beneath her to scour the floors of Rhodes Island to find and collect loose change somebody had dropped, even if it invites weird looks from other operators. Her token is even a small purse with coins that aren't even in circulation anymore.
  • Significant Birth Date: Her birthday is the International Day against Poverty.
  • Situational Sword: Snowsant's talent allows her to seal the abilities of any Infected creature that she hits. While this sounds awesome, in practice it limits her viable sealing targets to Hounds and Originium Slugs. While she is pretty handy when handling Infused Originium Slugs, due to her talent nullifying their explosive deaths, pretty much everything else that qualifies as an Infected creature has no skill to seal. With all of this combined, it's way more common to see players just use Lappland instead to seal their skills.
  • Status Infliction Attack: Much like FEater, Snowsant is a "Shift" and "Slow"-type Operator, as both of her skills have the potential to pull enemies to a Disney Villain Death and they slow down enemies.
    • Barbed Clawhook makes it so that the next attack drags the target towards Snowsant slightly, and deals 110% ATK as Physical damage and slowing it for 1 second at Level 1.
    • Telescoping Electric Net launches a net forward, dragging all enemies caught within it towards Snowsant slightly, deals 130% ATK as Arts damage to her targets, and slows targets for 2.1 seconds at Level 1.

Specter the Unchained, free from her cage, awake from her madness.
Rarity: ★★★★★★

Skills: The Skill to Survive, The Thirst to Survive, The Pressure to Survive
Talents: Embraced Self, Aegir's Depths
Affiliation: Abyssal Hunters
Race: Aegir
Birthday: July 27
Height: 165cm

"I recognize you, and you recognize me. We don't need all those boring introductions. But you still don't know me, and I still don't know you. If I recall correctly, dry-landers use simple enough means to get to know each other, so let's get communicating."

An alternate version of Specter who has been freed from the madness of the Church of the Deep during the events of "Stultifera Navis" and restored to her status as an Abyssal Hunter.

  • Animal Motif: Still sharks, but her regained sanity made Specter regain a new aspect on her identity; in her Elite 2 art, she's depicted with different kinds of sharks instead of one, with one of them being a six-eyed Helicoprion, an extinct shark genus with characteristic circular tooth whorls resembling her saw.
  • Amnesiac Dissonance: The original Guard version of Specter is a docile but robotically violent nun who lives in a secret medical bay accessible only to the most senior of the Medical Department. In battle, her eerily blank expression in the face on extreme bloodshed she wrought unsettles the operators that got deployed along with her. When she regains her memory, Laurentina shifts to her real personality; a Spirited Young Lady with equal amounts of passion towards fighting and arts. The most talkative Abyssal Hunter, she's outspoken and prone to Cultural Posturing, but not to the point of being purely malicious to others. A fan of the sculpting arts, she turns her sterile room into a personal studio, filled with marble sculptures. The one thing that stays, though, is her inherent fondness of bloodshed, which is arguably even bigger than her insane self as she is free to express herself in battles now.
  • Attack! Attack! Attack!: Like other Dollkeepers, Specter's kit allows her to be placed in positions that are practically suicidal for most melee Operators without fear of retreating thanks to her substitute form, but she takes it up another notch with her second and third skills, both of which encourage her to take as much damage as possible (temporary immortality with her S2, extra damage from having lower HP percentage with her S3) while giving massive ATK buffs. This is incredibly appropriate with her Blood Knight personality.
  • Background Music Override: When her Substitute deploys, all sounds on the battlefield are drowned out by an ethereal choir until it retreats.
  • Blood Knight: In contrast to her previously insane self who's demure in the midst of battles, Laurentina enjoys sawing enemies a bit too much, as evident in the story and her lines. Her Elite 2 outfit flavor text even explicitly said that she has always loved fighting, and one of her base skills is actually called War Fever note , for crying out loud! Her deployment quote basically says it all:
Every battle deserves to be enjoyed.
  • Cast From Hitpoints:
    • Her first skill buffs her ATK and immediately swaps Specter's current HP percentage with that of the most damaged Operator in range. This can either be used to keep another Operator alive at the cost of Specter's HP, or the other way around.
    • Her third skill gives her a massive ATK and HP buff alongside area attacks. If her target has a higher HP percentage than her, she'll deal an extra hit; if they don't, she'll lose health every time she attacks them.
  • Chainsaw Good: Wields a circular saw like her original incarnation, but one that looks less industrial and more like an ancient mariner's weapon.
  • Conditioned to Accept Horror: Having been experimented upon to the point of insanity seems to have given her this mindset of some sorts. She's fully aware that she's on borrowed time, but unlike Gladiia or Skadi, she isn't too concerned about it and would rather enjoy the present while she can.
  • Conlang: Her Born As One skin displays Aegirian text when she switches to her Substitute. A translation is available here.
  • Cultured Warrior: Specter has a deep appreciation towards arts and is quite well-versed with them due to her upbringing (having studied various arts while travelling over different Aegir cities), with her particular main interest being sculpting. She even admitted that had she not been chosen as a Hunter, she would be a sculptor instead.
  • Dance Battler: Implied, as a recurring theme when describing her fights is likening them as 'dances'.
  • Damage Over Time: Specter's substitute slows down and deals Arts damage over time to all enemies within her range, letting her still wreak havoc before jumping back into the fray.
  • Death or Glory Attack: A variation. Her second skill parallels her original incarnation's signature Bone Fracture by giving her a significant ATK and ASPD buff while preventing her HP from going below 1 for its duration, but instantly defeating her once the duration finishes. However, due to her Dollkeeper archetype, she doesn't actually "die" from this, instead switching to her Substitute.
  • Deadpan Snarker: When the situation calls for a quip, you can bet she will make it. Case in point, when she is negotiating with the captain of the Stultifera Navis for his cooperation:
Captain Alfonso: I'm more worried about you showing mercy to your twisted 'kin,' Aegir.
Specter: Then you worry over nothing. After all, if I really was on their side, you'd be dead already.
Specter: So, once I prove I'm not one of them, are you willing to lend us your ship?
Captain Alfonso: Not a chance in hell. The ship belongs to me.
Specter: That's too bad. Maybe if I help you lose that arm of yours during this battle, that'll wake up a part of your humanity?
  • The Gadfly: She would occasionally tease others for her own amusement, particularly Skadi and Irene.
  • Foe Romance Subtext: Her interaction with Amaia, the Church of the Deep Bishop that experimented on her, is one part flirting and dancing in the ballroom of the Stultifera Navis, and one part trying to tear her off with a giant circular saw.
  • Gentlewoman Snarker: While her outspoken-ness has led her making some particularly snarky comments as mentioned above, she isn't above using poise to make it sound less harsh (or more, depending on how you look at it).
Specter (upon clearing a mission below 3-stars rank): Incompletion has its own beauty. That's how you're comforting yourself, isn't it?
Specter (upon failing a mission): I'm to blame too for placing my trust in you. But don't worry, I'll bear the responsibility together with you.
  • Good Is Not Soft: Sure, she might be on Rhodes Island's side for now, but she isn't known as one of the most brutal and ruthless members on her Abyssal Hunter squad for nothing. If you were a Seaborn in front of her, she will make sure that you're as good as dead.
  • Image Song: "Awaken".
  • The Last Dance: Her Monthly Squad Record in "Mizuki & Caerula Arbor" is essentially this. After being betrayed by Aegir and Gladiia left her as she had turned into a Seaborn, she aimlessly wandered and fought through endless waves of Seaborn alone until she eventually lose her own senses. She eventually decided to stop on a rock and performed one last sculpting with her wrecked weapon, succumbing to her fate after she finished her last piece.
  • Made of Iron:
    • While Abyssal Hunters are meant to be superhumans, Specter particularly stood out in terms of resilience, as she managed to survive the Church of the Deep's experiments that are implied to have killed other Hunters who suffered the same fate. Even the Originium injection she suffered (which dosage would normally be lethal) only weakened and drove her to madness instead.
    • In terms of gameplay, on top of her second skill giving her invincibility like her Guard version, her archetype makes it harder for her to be killed, her talent gives her more max HP, and her Y module also gives extra HP to her substitute which makes herself even harder to kick the can.
  • Magikarp Power: Even with her skills fully mastered, Specter isn't exactly stellar in performance without her Module unlocked and upgraded. Upgrading either of her modules to Level 3 is when Specter starts to really shine in her designated role, as her PUM-X module will partially undo one of the greatest weaknesses of her archetype (the inability of the substitute to regenerate SP) and her PUM-Y module makes her a great asset within an Abyssal Hunter team.
  • Not in This for Your Revolution: Her main motivation as a Hunter is more of a personal preference when it comes to her way of life and her own hatred of how the Seaborn are unable to appreciate art, rather than an obligation.
  • Ornamental Weapon: Her Bloodline of Combat skin gives a sword to her substitute, but due to the substitute's non-attacking nature, it doesn't actually attack with it.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: As per other Abyssal Hunters of Aegir origin, she has red eyes to match her Super-Soldier status, compounded by her own Blood Knight tendencies. Unlike her previous self's blank eyes though, her eyes now gleam to indicate that she is finally sane.
  • Situational Sword: Her second talent gives all Abyssal Hunters increased maximum HP if she is in the squad. The interesting thing is that Specter herself is also part of that faction, meaning that the talent is always active, if only on her at the very least.
  • She's Back: In a way. "Stultifera Navis" reveals that being closer to the sea has caused Specter's Seaborn blood to suppress the effects of her Oripathy and restored her sanity. Furthermore, she was re-classified as an Aegir despite other Abyssal Hunters being previously classified as "Undisclosed", as now the cat's out of bag regarding the Abyssal Hunters' true nature being Seaborn-infused Aegirians.
  • Spirited Young Lady: Free-spirited, witty, and outspoken despite her refined way of speech, she's got the sass to back up her class. Wearing fancy dresses in battles didn't stop her from having an unrestrained fighting style, and she is as equally passionate in hunting Seaborn as she is towards sculpting.
  • Split Personality: She refers to her previously insane nun demeanor as her "other self", which sometimes resurface during extreme conditions that affect her emotions. This is reflected in gameplay as her substitute which only appears when her HP hit 0 or after her second skill.
  • Split-Personality Makeover: She has different sprites for her main body and substitute, representing her Abyssal Hunter and nun personas respectively. Her skin Born As One goes full blown Yin-Yang Bomb with the Abyssal Hunter dressed in black and the nun persona dressed in white.
  • Split-Personality Merge: Upon her Restoration of Sanity, she immediately came to terms with her former insane self and accepted it as a part of her as a whole, even considering it a novelty for the experience it brought to her. Now she normally acts as Laurentina the Abyssal Hunter, but she would occasionally have moments where she reverts to Specter the nun, although it is ambiguous whether it is a true relapse or merely just an act. This duality is represented under her new Dollkeeper class (with her Specter persona acting as the substitute) and her Born as One skin's flavor text basically lampshades this trope.
  • Stance System: Kind of. Which module Specter has equipped greatly influences her playstyle in battle.
    • Equipping her PUM-X module significantly increases the damage potency and slow of her substitute when she tags out, and grants her 15 SP when she tags back in, greatly encouraging the use of her S2 to exploit this.
    • Meanwhile, equipping her PUM-Y module improves the potency of her Aegir's Depths trait, with increased Max HP and SP generation, which encourages the use of her S3 to become a highly powerful bruiser in the same vein as her Guard version.
  • Took a Level in Idealism: When Specter regained her sanity for the first time, she didn't really held the Terrans and their technology in high regard as she is already used to the much more technologically advanced Aegir civilization, but she eventually became the most approachable and cooperative out of the Hunters, believing that working with them may create a miracle despite the odds.

"Spuria, liaison from the Sixth Tribunal of the Lateran Curia, here for cultural exchange. Oh, right. To prevent any safety inspections, my luggage has a self-destruct mechanism. Yep, the stuff inside isn't necessarily all safe."

A technician of the Laterano Holy Church's Sixth Tribunal, assigned on an exchange mission with Rhodes Island following the event of "Hortus de Escapismo".

  • Armor-Piercing Attack: Her talent gives her a chance to ignore part of an enemy's DEF.
  • Breaking Old Trends: She's the first female and 5-star rarity Geek Specialist, the second one released in the game in fact, for about three years.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Despite her constantly hacking school systems in her youth for her own benefit, Spuria's deeds were generally overlooked due to how brilliant her tech skills were as well as her trading favors such as using her skills to improve the school's systems.
  • Call-Back: Her second talk line mentions the cactus tarts that Mostima and an Apostolic Gun-Knight debated over in "Guide Ahead". If her base skill is anything to go by, she is a fan of them herself.
Still, I haven't modded any of the equipment in the dorm myself, so it does feel kinda like we're missing some features here. For example, something that automatically orders cactus tarts takeout at preset times. (talk 2)
  • The Cavalry: Volunteered to join the rescue squad in "Hortus de Escapismo" to help find Lemuen.
  • Childhood Friends: She's known Lemuen ever since they were in school.
  • Drone Deployer: The drone in her Elite 2 art is used in the animation of her second skill, and drones frequently show up in her backstory and talk lines.
  • The Engineer: She's proficient at designing and repairing drones, and is often the first choice for people to go to for repairs if the Engineering Department is unavailable.
  • Friendly Fire: Her second skill allows her to buff the ASPD of a Sniper operator in her attack range, but also causes both her and the Sniper's attacks to have a chance to self-stun for a few seconds.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: She uses a drone for her second skill, and technology is listed as one of her specialities. She became an associate of the Engineering Department after joining Rhodes Island.
  • Gratuitous Latin: Her codename is the feminine singular version of spurio, which means "illegitimate" or "false".
  • Living on Borrowed Time: As a Geek Specialist, she loses health over time, and unlike Aak she has no self sustain to offset the demerit, making her dependent on handholding from healers.
  • Lying by Omission: Spuria is quite good at lying to her fellow Sankta, managing to bypass their shared empathy by simply not telling the entire truth or dodging inconvenient questions.
  • Meaningful Name: As stated in her Gratuitous Latin entry, her codename means "illegitimate" or "false", referencing how she typicaly operates with her own ulterior motives and never tells the whole truth.
  • Mirror Character: Similar to Fiammetta, Spuria becomes Fortuna's handler due to her feeling responsible for Fortuna becoming a Fallen.
  • My Greatest Failure: Her profile states she spends a great deal of her time even while working for Rhodes Island to keep an eye out on Fortuna out of guilt for fixing the firearm that would kill Delfina. She's also become much more responsible when it comes to handling weapons because she wishes to never make mistakes like that again.
  • Mysterious Watcher: She becomes this for Fortuna since she wants to make sure she stays safe, and because a Fallen always needs to be observed by the Notarial Hall.
  • Navel-Deep Neckline: Her jacket is unzipped all the way down to reveal the tube top she wears underneath.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: In "Hortus de Escapismo", she repaired Fortuna's broken patron firearm in an attempt to gain the girl's trust, which results in Fortuna becoming a Fallen Sankta when Delfina tried to take the patron firearm from her and Fortuna accidentally shot her during the struggle.
  • Pink Is Feminine: Her halo and wings are colored pink.
  • Random Effect Spell: Her talent causes her attacks to have a chance to activate one of three effects: Attack deals damage twice, stun the enemy for a short duration, or ignore a portion of the enemy's DEF.
  • The Shut-In: After transferring to Rhodes Island, Spuria initially hardly ever left her room, preferring to only interact with others through her drones, which led to rumors that she was too overweight to leave her own room.
  • The Sneaky Gal: She plays this role while part of Executor's team in "Hortus de Escapismo", moving ahead of Executor and Richele and infiltrating the Santcilaminium Ambrosii to scout the area.
  • Sweet Tooth: A standard Sankta trait, shown in her RIIC skill Take-Away Fruit Tarts which reduces her morale consumption when she is assigned to a Power Plant.
  • Suspiciously Specific Denial:
Hey, Doctor, you're finally here. While you were gone, absolutely nothing happened. (greeting)
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: She doesn't particularly like working with Oren, but will put aside her feelings if their interests align.
  • Unishment: Asked to be assigned to an overseas mission as punishment after she refused to divulge the events of "Hortus de Escapismo", which is how she ended up in Rhodes Island.

"Long time no see, Doctor. Ahem, let me introduce myself again. Beatrix Schwire, soon-to-be Chief Commissioner of the Lungmen Guard Department—I really am the chief! Whoever said the L.G.D. chief can't take holidays?!"

An alternate version of Swire following her promotion to commissioner of the L.G.D. and a vacation/business trip in Siesta.

  • Auto-Revive: Her second talent has her pay 5 DP in order to withstand a fatal blow and revive her with 70% of her HP (80% with potentials). It has no cooldown or hard limit, but said DP cost doubles every time the talent triggers, meaning that if not retreated early amidst heavy pressure, she'll inevitably bleed your DP dry before finally kicking the bucket.
  • Cast from Money: Befitting of her extravagantly wealthy background, Swire's entire kit revolves around generating "Coins" (essentially ammo with a different name) and spending them for various functions.
    • Her first talent causes her to generate a Coin each time she consumes DP during her skill. Starting from Elite 1, each Coin she owns will also give her a 3-4% ATK buff that stacks up to 8 times (9 with potentials).
    • Her first skill lets her store up to 3 Coins and automatically triggers when an ally in her surroundings (including herself) drops below 70% HP, consuming a Coin to heal them for up to 80% of her ATK.
    • Her second skill lets her store up to 5 Coins and constantly consumes them to plop down champagne bombs within a cross-shaped range if she has space. On contact, the bombs deal up to 200% of her ATK as physical damage to the target and briefly slows them, dealing an extra hit if the bottle was on the field for at least 3 seconds.
    • Her third skill lets her store up to 10 coins and makes her attacks hit twice, while giving her an extra coin each time she defeats an enemy. When the skill is deactivated, Swire launches all her coins at random enemies in front of her, with each coin dealing physical damage and moderate knockback.
  • Combat Hand Fan: She wields a bladed fan in battle.
  • Combat Medic: Her first skill consumes coins to heal a nearby ally that's below 70% of their maximum health for up to 80% of her own ATKnote—notably, unlike Jaye's S2, this healing is entirely based on her own (significant) stats and not her damage dealt, meaning it is unaffected by enemy DEF, with the only caveat being that it depends on her Coins and can thus fail if she's healing too many times in succession.
  • Da Chief: This version of her has already been promoted to be the new LGD superintendent to replace Ch'en.
  • Grievous Bottley Harm: Swire's second skill summons champagne bottles that explode.
  • Guile Hero: She initially arrives in Siesta to make a competing bid against Bison's Mountaincomm Trade for redevelopment of New Siesta. However, in truth, this was all a ploy to gain enough leverage to buy into becoming Bison's partner in running Mountaincomm Trade while avoiding her grandfather's notice.
  • Image Song: "Missy".
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter:
    • Her second skill is somewhat similar to W's as she automatically drops champagne bottles that act as mines on nearby ground tiles which deal damage and Slow enemies that pass them, allowing her to function more like a Trapmaster Specialist.
    • To a lesser extent, her third skill is slightly different from the other Merchants' permanent activation skills in that she's incentivized to deactivate it for the large burst and knockback effect once her Coin stack has filled up and then build up her Coins again, as while it's possible to simply keep it active for the double hit effect, the total lack of an ATK buff outside of her first Talent limits her damage potential against high DEF enemies.
  • Money Mauling: Her third skill gathers up to 10 Coins, then launches them all at once at random enemies when the skill is deactivated, with each Coin dealing damage and pushing them back.
  • Rebellious Princess: Despite being a potential heiress to the Schwire Group, Swire has no intention of followingin her grandfather's footsteps and constantly defies him in order to do what she feels is best for Lungmen, culminating in her eventually leaving the Schwire Group entirely so she can focus on being the new LGD superintendent as well as run Mountaincomm Trade with Bison.
  • We Used to Be Friends: Her profile mentions that her relationship with Hoshiguma seems have changed ever since she was promoted, with the both of them hardly being seen together anymore, and when they are, it's noted that Hoshiguma no longer refers to Swire with cute nicknames but as simply "Chief Schwire", even in private. While there is much speculation as what happened between the two, Rhodes Island HR advises operators to avoid the subject entirely when around Swire.

"We meet again, Doctor. The Siracusan rainy season always gets my tail wet, so I prefer the climate here. Don't worry, Exusiai and the girls will keep taking care of the deliveries, but I'll handle any jobs assigned to me personally."

An alternate version of Texas representing her at her prime as a legendary Siracusan mafiosa, returning to Siracusa to take care of some unfinished business.

  • Animal Motifs: Texas wolves. They appear as ghostly wolves, though they're not limited to just their head anymore. note
  • Art Evolution: The difference between her original Vanguard version's sprite and her Omertosa Specialist sprite is very noticeable.
  • Badass in a Nice Suit: She is noticeably much more sharp-dressed than her Vanguard outfit, fitting for a former Mafia Princess. Said suit was commissioned by the Bellone in the style of the Texas famiglia at the start of "Il Siracusano".
  • BFS: Dual wields a pair named "Blueberry" and "Dark Chocolate" into battle.
  • But Not Too Foreign: She was born and lived in Columbia, until her grandfather sent her back to Siracusa to live with the Saluzzo family in what was essentially a hostage situation. Her English voice lines noticeably lack Italian unlike the other Siracusa-affiliated operators in "Il Siracusano", drawing parallels to real life Italian-Americans.
  • Chain Lethality Enabler: Her first talent Texas Tradition fully restores her HP and reactivates her current skill if she successfully scores a kill when deployed, potentially giving her longer staying power than the other Executors.
  • Clothing Damage: Her Elite 2 art shows rips on her left leg.
  • Coat Cape: She wears a large coat draped over her shoulders.
  • Damage-Increasing Debuff: Unrelenting Downpour applies a RES reduction debuff to all enemies around Texas when she is deployed, following up with her auto attacks dealing Arts damage after to take advantage of the debuff.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Most of her outfit is black, but she still works to better the lives of Siracusans as a whole during the course of "Il Siracusano".
  • Expy: Just like her Vanguard version, this version of Texas establishes more similarities with Kazuma Kiryu during "Il Siracusano". Her return to Siracusa as a result of her past catching up with her is similar to Kiryu constantly being forced to re-enter the yakuza world, Texas being revealed as the only remaining member of the otherwise extinct Texas family is like how Kiryu is all that's left of the Dojima family, and during the event, Texas willingly becomes The Scapegoat for a murder she didn't commit and goes to prison, just as Kiryu did for Nishiki prior to the events of the first Yakuza.
  • Flash Step: She performs this in the "Il Siracusano" PV - moving so fast to appear to land three attacks on her target at the same time - most likely as a reference to her second skill Unrelenting Downpour.
  • Gratuitous Italian:
    • Her title "Omertosa" is the feminine version of omertoso and translates to "being reticent because of a conspiracy of silence". This is a reference to Texas' background of fleeing Siracusa due to the purge of her family and taking on the quiet persona seen in her Vanguard version.
    • Her debut event "Il Siracusano" is Italian for "the Siracusan".
  • Iaijutsu Practitioner: She wields her swords like this in combat.
  • I Call It "Vera": Her twin swords are named Blueberry and Dark Chocolate, named after the flavors of chocolate she was eating when she returned to Nuovo Volsinii following the conclusion of "Il Siracusano". Needless to say, she didn't exactly care about naming them. Fittingly, her swords also glow with a blue (the color of blueberry) and dark brown (the color of dark chocolate) aura.
Exusiai: I gotta say, partner, those are really stupid names.
Texas: (nonchalantly) I agree. But that's just the right amount of stupid.
  • Image Song: "Thorns In You".
  • Instrument of Murder: The "Il Siracusano" PV shows Texas smashing a mook with the bass she was playing, followed by the bass breaking to reveal one of her swords inside, later revealed to be during the opening night of "La Morte Di Texas".
  • I Owe You My Life: She managed to escape the massacre of her family thanks to Bernando Bellone sheltering her out of his friendship with her grandfather Salvadore, as well as a pact she made with the Beast Lord that controls the Bellone.
  • I Work Alone: Her subclass aside, her module encourages this by giving her a small ATK buff when there are no allies in the cardinal tiles surrounding her position.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Hits hard and fast with any of her skills, zips around the battlefield as a fast redeploy unit, and the damage reduction on her Texas Swordsmanship talent along with the repeated ministuns on her third skill make her deceptively survivable despite her low defenses.
  • Magic Knight: Her skills all inflict Arts damage in varying amounts, with Unrelenting Downpour converting her auto attack damage into Arts damage for its duration.
  • Pet the Dog: She convinced the Signora Sicilia to spare the Rossati famiglia at the conclusion of "Il Siracusano".
  • Power Nullifier: Her first skill, Silent Drizzle, silences the enemy and inflicts Damage Over Time as Arts damage.
  • The Scapegoat: Volunteers to become one for the murder of a Bellone-affliated minister to try and take the heat off the family in "Il Siracusano".
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: She admitted to the Doctor that she disobeyed her father's orders to reinforce the famiglia when the purge came (resulting in the family getting decimated) because she was tired of the mafioso life and wanted to leave it behind, culminating in her setting fire to her family mansion.
Sometimes I hear Siracusans talking about the downfall of Famiglia Texas. No two versions of the story are the same. Most are pretty dull, and some make for interesting fairytales, but in the end, they're all pretty embellished. The real story is... I just got exhausted, and decided to leave. (talk 3)
  • Sole Survivor: "Il Siracusano" reveals that she is the sole survivor of the Texas mafioso famiglia after they were purged for attempting to rebel against Signora Sicilia.
  • Storm of Blades: Her third skill Torrential Sword Rain bombards up to 4 enemies in the tiles around her position with swords for some time.
  • Temporary Online Content: She is the limited operator of "Il Siracusano" and can only be obtained as an off-rate unit in later celebration event banners.
  • The Call Knows Where You Live: "Il Siracusano" starts with Zaaro coming for her in Lungmen to order her to fulfill her oath that she made with him: in exchange for escaping Columbia with her life intact, she has to perform a request for him later. Said request turns out to be assisting his "Fang", his chosen human champion in Siracusa's secret Beast Lord civil war
  • Theme Naming: All of her skills have a rain motif, a reference to Siracusa's constantly raining weather.
  • Tranquil Fury: After Giovanna comes very close to death at the hands of her own famiglia, Texas turns ice cold in her anger and sets out to put down the Rossatis and protect Leon and Lavinia from the other famiglie.
  • We Used to Be Friends: With Giovanna Rossati, the current Donness of the Rossati famiglia.

He knows that he's a robot.
Thermal-EX (a.k.a. THRM-EX), Specialist robot of Rhodes Island, is assigned by Engineer Closure to carry out combat missions.
Rarity:
ID: No. 376
Subclass: Robot Specialist
Tags: Nuker
Skills: N/A
Talents: Delayed Detonation
Affiliation: Rhodes Island
Birthday: February 15
Height: 160cm

"Born from Raythean Industries, improved in the hands of the great Mayer. I, Thermal-EX, the throbbing heart of hotness, am here to help!"

A joint project between Closure and Mayer, a bombastic robot with an explosive personality and even more explosive abilities.

  • Action Bomb: THRM-EX's sole purpose is to be plopped down, where he promptly explodes, dealing high Splash Damage to enemies caught in the blast. Anything that survives the blast will be debuffed, making them take increased damage from all sources from that point on.
    • Seeing how he vanishes after exploding, this makes him the second playable operator (the other being Amiya) in which their abilities can cause a self-retreat.
  • Actor Allusion: A repeatedly self-detonating robot voiced by Hikaru Midorikawa. Hmm...
  • Damage-Increasing Debuff: His explosion also causes enemies to take increased damage.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: According to his bio, THRM-EX is a modification of the Raythean Hellcat combat chassis, being redesigned by Mayer to release bursts of intense Arts in the form of thermal blasts and shockwaves, as a method of area denial or combatant suppression. In actual gameplay, his explosion attack deals Physical damage.
  • Gratuitous English: THRM-EX uses a lot of English in his voicelines. For example, his "Begin Operation" line has him shout "Rock and roll!"
  • Grew Beyond Their Programming: His Operator Record shows he has the capacity for learning and making decisions that aren't governed by his programming, one example being altering his heat output to be variable so he can serve as a space heater during cold nights. Both Closure and Mayer are very excited by the future implications of this.
  • Large Ham: He has the rather bombastic mannerisms for a robot, understandable since he was modified by Mayer.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter: He's classified as Fast-Redeploy, but he doesn't have the quick redeployment timer that all other members of this archetype do have since he's still a robot.
  • Oxymoronic Being: He's a Fast-Redeploy Specialist with one of the slowest redeploy cooldowns in the game.
  • Punny Name: THRM-EX is pronounced like Thermex, which was a brand of explosives.
  • Robot Buddy: He's one of only four robotic characters in the game, along with Lancet-2, Castle-3 and Justice Knight.
  • Smoke Out: He has smoke grenade launchers mounted on his chassis. While THRM-EX doesn't use them in gameplay, his "Operation Failure" line has him use them to cover their retreat.
  • Stone Wall: He has very high defense (for a one star operator anyways) and an extremely high resistancenote , helping him live long enough to explode.

Waai Fu, intern Operator from Lungmen, received high marks in the comprehensive entrance examination.
Rarity: ★★★★★
ID: No. 243
Subclass: Executor
Tags: Fast-Redeploy, Debuff
Skills: One-inch Punch, Seven-styles Kick
Talents: Red Browed Wing Chun
Affiliation: Lee's Detective Agency - Great Lungmen
Race: Feline
Birthday: December 1
Height: 162cm

"Is this Rhodes Island? Nice to meet you. I'm Waai Fu, your new part-timer. Please don't go easy on me. I can handle anything you ask of me."

A prodigal Lungmen university student, martial artist, and seeker of justice employed at Lee's Detective Agency.

  • The Ace: Waai Fu is a very hard-working student, and regularly receives perfect marks on her tests. Outside of schoolwork, she's also a very proficient assistant, with great work ethics, efficiency, and a frankly frightening level of dedication to her tasks. Somehow, she can juggle her grueling education with constant kung fu practicing, field deployments, office tasks, looking after the Doctor's wellbeing, police assistance, and vigilantism without breaking a sweat.
  • All Your Powers Combined: Waai Fu's kit is a blend of Fast-Redeployment and Push. Right off the bat, she has a cheap DP requirement and short deployment cooldown, and when promoted to Elite 1, her attacks have a moderate probability to knock enemies backwards, though her Push is not as strong as that of dedicated Specialists, as it is chance-based and the push magnitude cannot be improved.
  • Animal Motifs: Tigers. Judging by her darker orange color and those of the tigers in her E2 artwork, they're South-Chinese tigers (that are likely extinct in real life), which fits with her origin.
  • Bare-Fisted Monk: She's trained in Wing Chun by her father from a very young age.
  • Beast Man: She has the facial features of a tiger, and her entire body is covered in fur.
  • Child Soldiers: She's a college student, and her profile lists her combat experience as 14 years, meaning that even if she's not actually a soldier she's still been fighting people since she was a young teenager at the latest.
  • Cool Shades: Even though it can be hard to notice in her CG, Waai Fu actually wears a pair of orange shades.
  • Critical Hit Class: Waai Fu's talent Red Browed Wing Chun gives her at least a 20% chance to slightly knock her target back and buffs her next attack to 125%.
  • Disappeared Dad:
    • According to her account, her dad just up and left one day, claiming to be setting out in search of "the true meaning of kung fu". He hasn't been seen since, which adds to Waai Fu's already brewing resentment of him.
    • The truth surrounding her father's disappearance came to light in "Where Vernal Winds Will Never Blow". He was seeking to defeat Chong Yue to become the best martial artist in the world, and left Waai Fu to train himself towards that goal. The event saw Waai Fu finally reunited with her father.
  • Dual Wielding: In her Elite 2 artwork she carries a pair of trench knives with wavy blades that look like a cross between a kris and khopesh. Her Wild Flower of Street skin also has a pair of trench knives, this time looking more like a modern KA-BAR with knuckle guards featuring the words "RISE" and "FALL".
  • Hartman Hips: Though a bit hard to see due to her roomy top, Waai Fu has a rather narrow waistline and shoulders, while her rear and thighs are very prominent.
  • Impossibly Cool Clothes: Played straight with her normal outfit, but almost completely inverted with her Wild Flower of Street skin. The former features detached leggings and two interlocking hoop-belt-things around her lower torso and thighs that look like they'd easily snag on the surrounding environment. The latter starkly contrasts with this, looking like a leather biker outfit with goggles, steel-toed boots, and leggings that incorporate armored kneepads.
  • Invulnerable Knuckles: Surprisingly averted in the Home Service trailer for the Lee's Detective Agency miniseries, where she shakes her hands in pain after beating up a bunch of thugs bare-handed.
  • Kick Chick: She does carry a pair of trench knives, but her attack animations consist of kicks.
  • Nice Girl: Waai Fu is infallibly polite, especially towards the Doctor. She's also incredibly open-minded and tolerant of the infected, even if she's initially cautious of them.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Unlike other female Felines, Waai Fu looks more like an anthropomorphic tiger than a Cat Girl with tiger themes and visuals. She has patterned fur running along her body and even a small snout, whereas other Felines have neither. For the best comparison, just put her and Swire side-by-side. It's possible that she's a member of a Feline subspecies like Aak is.
  • Power Nullifier: Waai Fu's S2 Seven-styles Kick lets her seal an enemy's special abilities for up to 8 seconds immediately upon deployment. In this sense, it could be considered a more powerful, yet more situational version of Lappland's Spiritual Destruction. Considering her already short redeployment timer and cheap costs, expect to spam this ability a lot.
  • Punny Name: Subverted. Despite how her name is written in English, it does not mean what you think it means. As she hails from Yan, the more proper pronunciation of her name would be in Mandarin Chinese, "Huai Hu".
  • Shout-Out:
    • The bug-eyed tiger driving a hotrod in the background of her Wild Flower of Street skin is an homage to Ed Roth's Rat Fink illustrations.
    • During the Lee's Detective Agency miniseries trailer, she shakes her hands in pain after beating up a hallway of thugs much like Jackie Chan.
  • Status Effects: The reason Waai Fu classifies as a Debuff operator is because both of her skills are passives that hamper enemies in some way or another.
    • Her S1 One-inch Punch boosts her ATK by 25%, and decreases the ATK of enemies she attacks by 20% for 2 seconds at Skill Level 1.
    • Her S2 Seven-styles Kick immediately deals 180% of her ATK as physical damage to surrounding enemies, and silences them for 5 seconds at Skill Level 1.
  • Significant Birth Date: 1 December is the death date of Ip Man, grandmaster in wing chun. The day being the death date as opposed to his birthday is interesting, and it perhaps reflects the difficult relationship she has with her father, who left to find the 'true essence of kung fu'.
  • Super-Strength: Her profile includes a comment from Aak that says she can break down walls with just her fists.
  • Sword Plant: She plants her trench knife into the ground when defeated.
  • Vapor Wear: If her exposed thighs are any indication, Waai Fu likes Going Commando. Other art Kuroblood has drawn of her makes it abundantly clear she doesn’t wear a bra, either.
  • Vibrant Orange: Not only does she have a tiger’s orange fur, but she’s also The Ace at pretty much everything she does and a thoroughly good person, to boot.
  • Waif-Fu: Unintentional pun aside, Waai Fu is nice, elegant lady who knows kung fu and is perfectly capable of busting heads despite her lack of visible muscle.
  • Weapon Specialization: When she's not beating people up mano-a-mano, trench knives.

Weedy, a researcher in Rhodes Island's Bioengineering Department, has set foot on the battlefield after completing her studies.
Rarity: ★★★★★★
ID: No. 400
Subclass: Push Stroker
Tags: Crowd-Control, DPS, Shift
Skills: Barrel Burst, Hydraulics Mode, Liquid Nitrogen Cannon
Talents: Industrial Water Cannon, Upgraded Water Cannon
Affiliation: Rhodes Island
Race: Aegir
Birthday: January 23
Height: 155cm

"Hello, I'm Weedy from Rhodes Island's Engineering Department. I've heard of your name a long time ago, so I hope we'll have a productive relationship from now on. Ah, if you want to shake hands, please use your gloved right hand."

One of Rhodes Island's lead engineering researchers, a germaphobe who studies bioengineering.

  • Armor-Piercing Attack: Her skill 3 Liquid Nitrogen Cannon inflicts a Damage-Increasing Debuff that inflicts True Damage based on how far an enemy is pushed, similar to Nightmare. This is already devastating considering that Weedy has bar none the highest pushing power of any Operator currently in the game, but other operators can also follow up on her initial blast.
  • Animal Motifs: Weedy sea dragons. A robotic one floats alongside her, and one appears in her Elite 2 artwork. In addition, she has a tail that is based on her inspiration animal.
  • Blown Across the Room: Her pushing skillset, when handled properly, can push the enemy way over to the other wall.
    • Barrel Burst is an automatic skill that enables Weedy to push targets in the direction of her attack, dealing extra Physical Damage, and stunning them for up to .9 seconds.
    • Hydraulics Mode is a skill that permanently increases her attack interval upon maxing out her SP, but buffs her ATK, extends her range by a tile while turning her attacks into a long-ranged AoE attack, and pushes all enemies away slightly.
    • Liquid Nitrogen Cannon immediately deals a large amount of Arts damage and pushes them away significantly, and inflicts a Damage-Increasing Debuff on the victims where they take True Damage for a time proportional to how far they were pushed. This ability is automatically activated if a Reserve Water Cannon has been deployed within four tiles of Weedy. Because the Reserve Water Cannon has its push force increased by one, at Mastery 3, the shot fired by the Cannon has the highest pushing power in all of Arknights - a shift of 'Insanely Strong' force.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Both her base art and her E2 art show her right hand gloved and left hand bare, plus a band worn on her left thigh.
  • Image Song: "Sparkling Hydraulics".
  • Improbable Use of a Weapon: Unless her skill 2 or 3 is active, she normally uses her water cannon as a battering ram.
  • Kill It with Ice: Implied with her S3 Liquid Nitrogen Cannon.
  • Kill It with Water: She fights with an enormous water cannon, and can also summon a temporary turret that will shoot high-powered water blasts at enemies.
  • Mechanically Unusual Fighter:
    • She is this in the base, with her Bionic Seadragon RIIC skill, wherein if she's put in a Factory, all other operators will have their productivity drop down to 0, but each Power Plant increases that Factory's productivity by 15% (which would translate to a 45% productivity if you have all three Power Plants).
    • In the gameplay itself, she is the only Shift Specialist whose power is partially reliant upon a temporary summoned turret.
  • Minor Major Character: Weedy is one of the very first people to be hired by Rhodes Island after its founding, quickly becoming one of its department heads as she oversees its Bioengineering Department. She's never appeared during head meetings nor deployed on missions as a field Operator with the implication her research is keeping her more occupied than not and nobody really wants to tear her away from it.
  • Misplaced Wildlife: Weedy is based on the leafy seadragon, which only lives around Australia and Tasmania, while Weedy herself is from this universe's equivalent of Spain and Portugal.
  • Neat Freak: Weedy is an extreme germophobe and gets upset when things are not clean and well-organized. Her bio and a considerable amount of her quotes have her be very wary of unclean things, and she prefers not to make physical contact unless the other person is wearing sanitized clothing, such as the Doctor's gloved hand compared to their bare one.
  • Out of Focus: Despite first appearing as a playable character in the 1st Anniversary of Arknights, Weedy stands out as the only 6-star Operator who has not made any appearances whatsoever in story cutscenesnote . It's not until her Operator Record is released with An Obscure Wanderer over two years later that she would make a proper appearance in cutscenes.
  • Pistol-Whipping: Her default attacks and her S1 has her bash enemies with the barrel of her water cannon. She only shoots with it with her S2 and S3, as detailed in Improbable Use of a Weapon above.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: She's the game's strongest Push Specialist and her eyes are red.
  • The Turret Master: Not to the same extent as a Summon Supporter, but Weedy's talent Industrial Water Cannon allows her to deploy a Reserve Water Cannon that lasts for 20 seconds, attacks one target, and pushes it away slightly. After further promoting Weedy, it becomes Upgraded Water Cannon, increasing the Reserve Water Cannon's shift level by 1, and restoring her SP (1 SP per 3 seconds) if it's deployed within 4 tiles of her.
