openI don't know how to make a page Literature
How can I make a page about a work from scratch to fill it with tropers
open The Rayfox conundrum continues; author's trying to claim page ownership
I have gotten yet another nastygram from the author about my review and work on the page that I'm in the middle of writing a response to...albeit reluctantly given that he had relied on coercion to even start this conversation...literally he's just non-stop ranting to me, and is making blatant attempts at gaslighting as well as glossing over fine points over things I'm won't bring up due to drama importing policy. As we speak I'm writing up a response essentially telling him to back off and that he's out of line.
But the main question at hand is in that letter he tries to define what losing interest means and patronizingly tells me to "move on" from his page and not to edit it anymore on the basis of Don't Like? Don't Read!, and that I'm not "qualified" to do a review on it. Is he in any position to say who can and cannot edit a page that has to do with their works? Does The Fic May Be Yours, but the Trope Page Is Ours also basically imply that the author aren't in any position to decide which tropers can and can't edit their pages?
Edited by Stardust5099openImage on a YMMV page Webcomic
A troper recently put up an image on YMMV Unordinary. Is this allowed? I've never seen an image on a YMMV page before.
open Troper with a possible political agenda
Onlythrice has been editing this wiki rather frequently. Most of their edits seems to be valid, however more than once they have made concerning edits:
- They modified the entry on RoleEndingMisdemeanor.Live Action TV about Gina Carano's firing, to blaming it to "cancel culture", attempted to paint Carano as a victim of intelectual persecussion and to draw a false equivalence with her co-star Pedro Pascal's posts. The wording of the original post had already been approved through consensus on this ATT thread.
- They added an entry on for Real Life Un-person which originally read:
- However, a milder example occurred in early 2021 when after a group of protestors contesting the 2020 election looted the United States Capitol, President Trump's online presence was effectively erased by every mainstream social networking site for accusations of "inciting violence" in spite of his condemnation of their actions. This led to much controversy due to the precedent it was setting as well as the fact that several other figures who had incited violence, such as the Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov who led anti-gay purges in Chechnya, were allowed to keep their accounts.
These edits seem problematic to say the least.

Started following the building guidelines but it feels like I did something wrong. How can I cut the page and start over?
open Life is Strange: True Colors problem
So recently Life Is Strange: True Colors had its trailer release. Unfortunately, as usually happens with unreleased works, the page is dealing with issues regarding what is considered speculation and what isn't. Specifically, two Tropers are edit-warring over context.
Dark added three tropes (Aura Vision, Color-Coded Emotions, and Psychic Powers) with the edit reason, "Adding some tropes very definitely shown in the trailer."
Alphaeater hid them all for not having citations.
Dark un-hid them with the reason, "Ah, the fun police are here."
Alphaeater outright deleted the tropes with the reason, "Do not unhide hidden entries without fixing them."
Dark re-added them all. "I did, by changing the "in this game" to "in this game's trailer" but I guess that's just not good enough, so here. Also, one of the ones you deleted literally has "based on the trailer in it", so why was that one also deleted?"
Alphaeater hid the Color-Coded Emotions entry with the reason, "Where / how do these colors appear? How are they associated with emotions?" Note the example itself reads Based on what's seen in the trailer, red is anger, blue is sadness, yellow is joy, and purple is fear.
Dark added more context but with the reason, "Context clues. Also, very petty move, holding the entry for 20 minutes to prevent editing. Jesus effing christ, dude, go hall monitor somewhere else."
Since then, other Tropers have added Tropes to the page. Alphaeater outright deleted some and hid others out for being ZCE—although they didn't leave an edit reason explaining their deletions.
Following this, Dark added a note to the top of the page: "Remember to add a citation, even if it's blatantly obvious from context clues, or the hall monitors with nothing better to do will hide your entry!" Their edit reason: "please go away or do something actually useful, like adding context despite the entry being perfectly readable and comprehendible without the extra wording."
So we have an edit war going on, and honestly I'm finding issues with both Tropers here. Most obviously Dark is being pretty rude and petty in their edit reasons, and I'm going to go ahead and delete the petty note on the page. On the other hand Alphaeater is sometimes not communicating their reasons for deleting entries—and these deletions seem unnecessary, as they can simply hide them until proper citations are added.
openImage Links
Okay, so the RWBY/DOOM fanfic, Remnant Inferis: DOOM has a couple fanarts, done by a deviantart user named symptom99. Should an "Image Links" page be made to link to them?
I ask because it's only two and one of them is mature (not in a sexual manner, but in a bloody, gorey manner).
openMore from Unbuilt Trope Literature
(The original entry is two bullets at the bottom of LONG list of "teen dystopia" sub-genre entry)
- The Hunger Games itself is a Trope Codifier for the YA Dystopia Novel note Though The Giver and Uglies both predate it, it started the trend more properly , and has many deconstructive elements, thanks to its author being very fond of deconstructor fleets. After all, the dystopia depicted isn't that much worse than the resistance, the Love Triangle is a ploy for attention by the villains, and most of the second book is spent exploring how the main character's psyche has been affected by the events of the first rather than a further adventure.
Ignoring how it's include as Trope Codifier (But is it? The note only claims it "started the trend more properly", not how it codifies the genre), the fact that it outright say "its author being very fond of deconstructor fleets" make me think it's more of "early deconstruction" than actual Unbuilt Trope.
Edited by Kuruniopen The Rayfox author's request for deletion Webcomic
So the author of RayFox, ScottyArtz, personally wants the entirety of his page, Ray Fox, deleted because of something I wrote in the comment sections of a review, and potentially because he doesn't like the YMMV or headscratchers bit. Is this a legitimate grounds for the deletion of the page?

I've seen it on numerous pages, but it could just be a common error.
openEditing Spanish Tropes
Hi, I'm new and I want to edit tropes for the Spanish speaking audience. I just started with Wrong Genre Savviness (can't enter there directly, you gotta go through Es.Genre Savviness), and I'd like to see if there are any other Spanish tropers that would like to help me, give me advice and the sorts. I still don't know how to create pages and will only be entering tropes that already have translated names.
open Irisu Syndrome Videogame
Would it be a good idea to merge the main and Darth Wiki pages for Irisu Syndrome? Looking over the page, I feel like it'd benefit from that.
Edited by GalacticDriftwoodopenAgent Loki: International Man of Mayhem trope page removed Literature
Why was the trope page for the fanfic Agent Loki: International Man of Mayhem removed? The reason given says "Work existed, but wiped from the internet. There is a link to download, but without being certain of the downloading security, it's inadvisable to use." It's true that the author removed the fanfic from the internet but I see no reason why it can't still have a trope page. If a link was the problem, wouldn't it make more sense to just delete the link instead of removing the entire page?

openPotential rude edit reason in Unfortunate Implications / Video Games.
On UnfortunateImplications.Video Games, troper iPhoenix26 deleted a very controversial Genshin Impact entry while giving what appears to be a very blunt and rude edit reason.
>"I'm just going to guess that you don't actually play this game and only know about it from Twitter controversies because you are incredibly misinformed. First off, Rosaria's breast size was reduced because it was causing issues with her animations, not because of censorship. And about the Hilichurls... yeah, you really don't know what you're talking about. They're not based on any sort of "indigenous tribes"; I have no idea where that comes from. And anyway, is it really that surprising that, with the only regions currently available in the game being based on Western Europe and China, there aren't many playable characters with dark skin? Oh, and the two dark skinned characters that are playable are portrayed as good people, just like the "white" (except about half of them are actually meant to be asian) characters, even if Kaeya is a little shady. There are multiple other regions that will be released, one likely based on South America, and another based on the Middle East. Next time, make sure you get your facts right before making an uninformed edit."

Edited by DivineFlame100open Regarding Fanservice tropes and their application to underaged characters.
On Characters.Genshin Impact Mondstadt, I'm facing quite a conundrum. The character Fischl is being subjected to Fanservice tropes like Ms. Fanservice, Hartman Hips and Stripperiffic because of her outfit, which is quite revealing in the game indeed. However, it's heavily implied that Fischl is underaged because, despite the game never actually revealing her age, it is said that she is under the drinking age, and her claims of being Really 700 Years Old is just a lie because of her Chuunibyou side. I had to comment out a few examples because of potential No Lewdness, No Prudishness violations.
What should I do about this if the character's age isn't revealed but is still implied to be a minor?
openHow to make a new page? Print Comic
I wanted to make a page about Mike Mignola, but I do not know how to, how do we create new pages for creators on TV Tropes, is there a process we have to go through first?
openCharacter Sheets and When to Split Them
What's the criteria for dividing a long character sheet into subpages? Really have to ask this since one recurring pattern is the slowing down of any contribution once it happens, especially if the work lies dormant (read:doesn't release new material) for long periods of time.
How do we handle things when a real life incident about a trope with no real life examples allowed is reported on a Web Original site we cover (often anonymised)? For example Potty Emergency is a no real life examples trope, but if there’s a story about a real life incident of this is on Not Always Right do we allow it on either The trope or website page?
