Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.

openArthur Pendragon and the Lady of the Lake
Thoughts on moving Arthur Pendragon and The Lady Of The Lake to the Myth/ namespace?
openAbout this example of PeripheryDemographic.VideoGames
- Sonic the Hedgehog:
- Also, it's extremely popular among people on the autistic spectrum. The Sonic universe has a pretty heavy amount of Worldbuilding to it. And since many of its characters adhere to a homogenized character designnote two circles for head and body; stick limbs; just pick a species, a color and a special ability and you're done which is conveniently simple and easy to draw, it's easy for people to create their own personas and stick them into the world via fanfiction.
I'm not really a fan of this example. Sure, I'm on the autism spectrum and love Sonic the Hedgehog really much, and I've seen several Sonic fans who have stated to be autistic, but in my eyes, this seems to enforce a common autism stereotype on the Internet that autistic people like Sonic, My Little Pony, or "immature" media. Stereotyping is one thing we should only apply to people in fiction, not in real life.
What are your thoughts on this? I want to know.
openI admit the page might have been overkill... Anime
But the Ashita No Joe Tearjerker page has been majorly edited. The new version seems fine at first glance but it removed major context and it has ZCE like instead of saying WHY the finale is sad it just says "The Finale".

How would I restore a crowner that "bibble bopped"?

I would like to move Lilith and Persian Mythology to the Myth/ namespace because Classical Mythology and Merlin have the same namespace.

Edited by IukaSylvieopenDisambiguation usage
When do disambiguation pages need to exist for works that share names? If there exists two works with the same name, and neither is a remake or the other, is a disambiguation page needed?
Also, when it comes to disambiguating works, do they need to be disambiguated if their titles are very similar but not the exact same due to the lack of a space or something similar to that? For example, if there was Film.Toyland (note: while typing this, I did not realize there was an actual film called that lol) and WesternAnimation.Toy Land, would they need to be disambiguated?
Edited by jandn2014openDefinition of Ultimate Evil
I’m a bit confused about the concept of the trope Ultimate Evil. The basic concept of the trope is “evil character that is not shown onscreen because of how horrifying they are”. However, what I’m confused about is:
1. Does this trope still apply if the character is shown clearly at one point but is still not directly shown onscreen for the most part?
And:
2. Does the evil in question necessarily need to look horrifying if shown on screen?
Ultimate Evil as a trope has gone through some misuse, and I want to know what this trope exactly is to sort out some misuse or potentially redefine the trope to cover some aspects.
openGross example on A Pup Named Scooby-Doo
A Pup Named Scooby-Doo has an example for Panty Shot listed on it, involving Velma and Daphne. However, it's a Spinoff Babies show and according to official Scooby-Doo canon, Scooby is seven years old and the girls are 16 (Daphne) and 15 (Velma).
This means that in Pup Named, Daphne is about nine or ten, while Velma's about eight or nine.
And the Panty Shot page describes it as being for "fanservice", so basically, the example is saying there's fanservice revolving around little girls!
openNo Game No Life Anime
I found an example for Defictionalization in the main page for No Game No Life, and I want to move it to the work's trivia page as Defictionalization is a Trivia item and not a narrative or character trope. Can I move so without permission as long as I type in something in Edit Reason? Just asking as I'm cautious about starting a potential edit war.
Edited by Excessive-MenaceopenCan I just list some examples for a trope in a work?
Let's say, I am troping for the trope of Quivering Eyes, which is a common artistic shorthand for Anime. For one particular work, I already noticed at least 4 examples of it within one episode, and I kind of think citing 4 (or more) examples for a trope like that might be excessive. Can I just list one or two examples, or should I list them all to my ability...?
openWick checking
When wick-checking, how do I see all instances of a trope's use on a page when many uses are potholes rather than direct links?
open No Title
Tropers/agentj1987 added this to YMMV.Here Comes Peter Cottontail:
Really Irontail is legitamately frightening and scary at times 🤔😅🤣😂Please provide examples Because I've been watching Rankin & Bass Peter Cottontail since I was a small child and Irontail never scared me. Now Professor Ratigan on the other hand from Disney's The Great Mouse Detective Vincent Price's most famous animated villian role you could argue is potentially scary to small children.
openHow do you add special characters to a title? Webcomic
I recently created a page for the webcomic "We Live In An MMO?!" but obviously the question mark and exclamation point aren't included in the title. Despite this I've seen plenty of other works that include them.
How would I go about adjusting this?
openNatter in Casablanca Tearjerker that I dont feel comfortable removing
https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/TearJerker/casablanca
- Though in Real Life Bulgaria at the time was probably the safest European country among those that were taking part in the war.
- Not for everyone: Bulgaria was already a semi-fascist Nazi puppet-state and by the time of the movie events occupied by Germans. So for many people (Jews especially) it would have been a wise move to get out of there before things started to get really ugly (which they eventually did).
openMyth, religion, folklore and tropes Literature
So I was editing Characters.Book Of Genesis to fix some ZCE issues and the like, and I notice that some content aren't actually from Literature.Book Of Genesis, but from religious traditions and modern interpretations of the book. Not sure how to approach this, but since the page is specifically about the particular book of the bible, should the "external contents" be removed?
openX-Pac Heat Live Action TV
worldbeater has been removing examples from X-Pac Heat and putting them on the wrestling franchise's subpages, including YMMV, Trivia, and Horrible(?). I thought having things in multiple places was the whole point of Cross Wicking...
openBabylon 5 Live Action TV
Can we get a mod revert fixing the CM entries at YMMV.Babylon Five, which has been unceremoniously removed without permission?
Edited by SkyCat32openSomeone edits my TLP draft without permission

Should we move the tropes in the subpage of Zoroastrianism to Persian Mythology because "tropes are not to be used to describe the subject of a Useful Notes article directly"?
