Have a question about how the TVTropes wiki works? No one knows this community better than the people in it, so ask away! Ask the Tropers is the page you come to when you have a question burning in your brain and the support pages didn't help.
It's not for everything, though. For a list of all the resources for your questions, click here. You can also go to this Directory thread
for ongoing cleanup projects.
All in all, I'd say yes.
If there is a lot of it, maybe separating from the rest and put in a section at the end of the page is an option (as it is sometimes done with movies having a trailers/promotional material section).
But yes, otherwise, apocryphal additions to a religious text are basically fanfiction, and we don't trope fanfiction on the same page as the original work, so removing them would be perfectly justified.
Thanks.
Some of the entries apparently comes from The Talmud, which has its own page and should just be troped there. Some is mentioned in Islamic tradition, which I suppose can go to The Qur'an. There's not a lot, so I suppose I can just cut them.
What we have done in Myth.Norse Mythology is to cut anything that is not actually present in the relevant works. Thus, we cut out practitioners' interpretations and other "external content" like the aforementioned traditions. The same should be done with the Abrahamic religions. This isn't a religion wiki but a media one. Not to sound irreverent, but the external content is irrelevant.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they pretty
So I was editing Characters.Book Of Genesis to fix some ZCE issues and the like, and I notice that some content aren't actually from Literature.Book Of Genesis, but from religious traditions and modern interpretations of the book. Not sure how to approach this, but since the page is specifically about the particular book of the bible, should the "external contents" be removed?
