Reviving Trope-tan

Thanks, CardboardBot. I did sketch out an outline of how I thought her body should look beforehand, but I've still got a long way to go in terms of properly proportioning it, and then laying a body and then clothes over that rough outline. I also would have separated the fingers if I knew anything about drawing hands, and this whole sketch is meant to look rougher around the edges to prove that I can make an unpolished sketch still look good.

Also, I really don't have a reason for delaying this response for so long. I've had a bunch of other things on my plate lately.

That's a reason why you delayed the response. You had stuff to do.

Anyways, keep in mind: arms, not including hands are usually about or roughly equal to the length of the torso, waist, and hip. Legs can never be shorter than arms, or else it'll look off. They can be longer though.

Yeah, DarthVaderGurl is Darth-tan, sweeterthansugar is Sugar-tan, and lampshadehanging is Trope-tan.

Another addition to Trope-tan and Friends! You've heard of Trope-tan, now here's Trope-tron!

At left is an imperfect attempt to capture the original◊ Minecraft skin visualization in drawing form, which I drew by mouse. I'm still getting the hang of drawing people, but it's still not what I want to be the one and primary thing that people imagine when they picture her.

Her Personal Appearance Tropes are as follows:

• Being a Fembot designed as a knockoff of Trope-tan, she shares many of her human counterpart's design cues.
  • Retains Trope-tan's blue coloration with her torso-section meant to mimic Trope-tan's shirt. It's cut off at the waist like how Trope-tan's is, and has boxy shoulders to resemble Trope-tan's slightly poofy sleeves.
  • Has Robot Hair in imitation of Trope-tan's Girlish Pigtails.
  • Likewise has a lampshade-shaped skirt, but hers is made of metal.
  • Her body shape is supposed to be mostly similar to that of Trope-tan, but I was unable to accurately depict that in either skin or drawing.
• Her Cyber Green face-screen can display a variety of other images other than just her face, primarily the odd Pictorial Speech-Bubble or Rebus Bubble to further express herself. It goes completely blank when she's asleep or otherwise unconscious.
• Has Robot Antennae in place of ears.
• Is a Bell-Bottom-Limbed Bot, and her legs retain the color scheme of Trope-tan's sneakers.

As for her personality:

• A Funny Robot and Ditzy Genius who always does all that she can to pitch in around the website. However, while well-intentioned and eager to please, she can sometimes cause more trouble and chaos than she means to.
• She cannot conventionally speak, not even in a Machine Monotone. However, she is instead capable of communicating through music, can play back recordings of other people speaking, and can display holograms (and more conventional projections) out of the device on her chest, putting her in dominion over Awesome Music, Quotes, and Video Examples pages.
• Considers herself Trope-tan's sister, and is the closest thing the gang has to an Idiot Hero.
• And sometimes, only very rarely, if the mood strikes her, she likes shooting craps.

I've also spoken with Cardboard Bot, and they've said that they're OK with Trope-tron replacing Trope Reporter from May's Trope Report. And if any of you have any suggestions or changes for her design or character, then please do share them. I'm by no means skilled in robot character design.

Okay, that last bit sounds a bit incorrectly worded there.

As a replacement, she isn't replacing the Trope Reporter in Trope Report itself, only in stories about Trope-tan.

I don't see it as a replacement mostly because of how different their personalities and dynamics with other characters are.

Nah, I've already elaborated it myself.

Would it be pushing it to expand to other sections of the side besides the subwikis? Like a Kid Sidekick who represents the TLP and looks up to Trope-tan but is a bit clumsy, probably with a space/astronaut theme.

I think that sounds interesting. It's a part of the wiki so it wouldn't be much of a stretch.

the title makes it sound like Troper Tan died at some point and she's being revived through necromancy

That sounds like something that could fall under Trope-tron's duties, since she both looks up to Trope-tan and can unintentionally cause chaos when she's only trying to help, representing how many a Trope Launch Pad draft starts out rough but gets refined over time. I don't see how this hypothetical TLP-tan would be much different from her.

Also, I know that I've been throwing around a lot of personification ideas here, but they're not going to continue forever. I've only got one more personification idea after this, and after that, most likely, no more.

TBH I forgot Trope-tron existed since she isn't on the Trope-tan page.

I feel like she's not ready for primetime just yet, for two reasons: She needs a better image, and I feel like she could use to have a few more tropes and whatnot to her name.

Introducing... TLP-tan!

(Sorry if you can tell it's kinda rushed. I was getting tired of drawing and just wanted to get it over with, so some things might look wonky.)

A Kid Sidekick to the rest of the wikitans, who she looks up to. TLP-tan tries her hardest to be helpful, but sometimes she messes up and causes chaos at the Launch Pad.

TLP-tan's Personal Appearance Tropes:

• She has technicolor red and green eyes representing the Bomb and Hat buttons.
• She is almost never seen without her Signature Headgear, a brimmed green hat, except to pull a Cartoon Bomb out from under it. She seems to have an Infinite Supply of them stored in Hammerspace.

Personality Tropes:

• TLP-tan is an Adorably Precocious Child, but don't tell her that, because she Hates Being Called Cute.
• She's a Child Prodigy who's Wise Beyond Her Years, having learned editquette from closely studying Trope-tan. However, as she is just a kid, she often fails spot checks and lets mistakes slip through.
• Despite her somewhat self-imposed large workload, she manages to be a Cheerful Child.
• TLP-tan is quite tomboyish compared to the others.

Other tropes:

• Despite wearing a spacesuit and supposedly being an astronaut, she doesn't actually do any work pertaining to space.
• She's a Demolitions Expert; unfortunately, she also likes Stuff Blowing Up, so she may get a little trigger-happy with the bombs...

At first I thought that grenade was a heart. ^_^;;

Eugh... that's disgusting. Imagine throwing hearts at bad TLP drafts. Actually, don't imagine that.

She's adorable! Maybe add some details related to trope creation and drafting. Like how she prepares tropes for launch?
