See here for Nightmare Fuel, which has frequent enough problems to deserve a thread of its own.
A while ago, I made a thread for cleaning up Nightmare Fuel pages, since they tend to attract all sorts of gushing about anything vaguely unsettling, as well as violations of Example Indentation and the Spoiler Policy among other problems. Well, other Moments pages have similar issues, though to a slightly lesser extent, so they may as well have a cleanup thread too.
"Moments" reactions should:
- Be free of spoiler tags, in accordance with the Spoilers Off policy which states that:
Fridge, Headscratchers, and the various Moments subpages (Tear Jerker, Moment of Awesome, etc.) are for post-viewing discussions. Spoiler tagging there defeats the purpose of the articles. You shouldn't be going there if you are worried about them.
- Be based on things that actually have happened, not things that could happen, will happen, or might have happened. Speculation belongs only on the Wild Mass Guessing pages.
- Have affected the writer of the entry themselves. If you don't find something funny or sad, let someone who did add it to Funny Moments or Tear Jerker.
- Elicit a strong reaction. Not every single time a character accomplishes something is an Awesome Moment, not every attempt at comedy is a Funny Moment, not every time someone does something nice is a Heartwarming Moment, and not every unhappy event is a Tear Jerker.
- Explain why they're so awesome/funny/sad: Zero Context Examples aren't allowed on this wiki. Your description should allow anyone to understand your reaction.

I've chainsawed it.
he/himHeartwarming.Blade Bunny seems to be made up of two comedic sociopaths showing some concern for each other. But they are short on context, seem to repeat the same thing three times, and with one entry that seems to say it isn't an example. Is this fixable?
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.Funny.Caddicarus haves most examples just being transcriptions of lines and moments from the videos. I don't mean like quotes, but literally chunks of script being copied wholesale and presented as moments.
The best character is always the one-shot disguise.I just looked at the namespaces for Homestuck, particularly Funny, Awesome, and Awesome Music subpages, and holy hell are they poorly-maintained. Despite the work's rather large wiki presence, it seems like nobody took note of the huge amount of ZCEs, explaining with weblinks (not to mention most of their correct uses requiring updates) and occasional natter on the pages.

You keep using the term "POV". I do not think it means what you think it means.Heartwarming.The Order Of The Stick has two entries under a "Meta" folder. The first is a message from the author to supporting fans, which I think will have to go. The other is from a wallpaper and seems safe, maybe merged with "Bonus Content from the Main Storyline" into a "Bonus content" folder.
Stories don't tell us monsters exist; we knew that already. They show us that monsters can be trademarked and milked for years.the message from the author can be moved to Heartwarming.Real Life Other.
Already scrubbed out the spoiler tags over at Heartwarming.Fire Emblem Awakening. The examples are all over the place and need some serious organization.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportNitrome is just a single entry, and a spoiler-tagged one at that.
Now, the complicated thing is, having grown up with these games, I have had plenty of laughs playing them, but a lot of those laughs are personal stuff that I don't know if others would agree with.
—signature not found—Unspoiler it.
Being in Sugar subspace, it's fine to have just one entry (if I'm not mistaken).
And Nitrome games are lighthearted, so if you can think of something, feel free to add more. Note that it should be something the game does that's funny, not a funny experience.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupI'm attempting to add some examples myself now. But what I was referring to is that plenty of times, I would find random sound effects absolutely hilarious (such as the Bubble Gum voice from "Bad-Ice Cream 2" or the hurt sound from "Jack Frost").
—signature not found—The following are safe examples:
- Heartwarming: Bowser costume
- Awesome: Bowser redesign, but that may fit better under something else.
- Tear Jerker: KK Slider example
This was on the Tear Jerker page for The Simpsons (complainy part highlighted):
- "Lisa, It's Your Birthday", for being only a minute long within the episode "Stark Raving Dad", can cause tears of joy out of practically anyone. It's now more depressing than it should be in light of Michael Jackson's death.
- It gets worse; due to the documentary, Leaving Neverland bringing back the controversy surrounding Michael Jackson's child molestation allegations, the episode has been pulled from syndication. The only way to legally see the episode now is on the pre-2019 season 3 DVD set.
This is less about the episode being sad, and more complaining about a documentary unrelated to the Simpsons forcing the episode to be banned. It is sad if you liked that episode and don't own the DVD, but I think it's too meta and unrelated to the show itself to stay.
It all sounds more like Harsher in Hindsight than Tear Jerker, since Tear Jerker is supposed to be something in-story that makes you sad on its own merits.
online since 1993 | huge retrocomputing and TV nerd | lee4hmz.info (under construction) | heapershangout.comThe entire example feels off to me. The first bullet is too low-context, and the second is irrelevant natter.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessJust cut it. It’s not sad at all and the example relies on extraneous events.note

Disney Dreamlight Valley was just made, and it shows: The page has only one example, and it is incomplete.
he/himI personally suggest cutting it, partly because I feel the only example listed atm might be too general.
The example has since been expanded on, so I'm not sure if I should cutlist it now.
he/himNow that it contains an actual example with context, don't cut list the page.
This new addition to TearJerker.Public Service Announcement is a massive wall of text that needs a serious trim:
- Rewind the Future, a PSA from the Children's Healthcare of Atlanta as part of their Strong4Life campaign, combines Fridge Horror and the general bleak atmosphere of looking back at your past actions.
- It starts with an obese man named Jim being wheeled into a hospital operating room. In his point of view, his breathing is muffled, and one of the doctors then reveals who he is. "Just came in. Heart attack. 5'9, 300 pounds, 32 years old." It's a whammy because this man lived through 3 decades of his life, and is that unhealthy. As a bright light begins to make Jim flashback, another doctor then asks, "How the hell does that happen?".
- In a unique editing decision, while the clips play forward, after a small bit, we go back in time, as Jim gets younger and younger. Seeing him eat all of this unhealthy food and engaging in unhealthy habits in the first-person view is uncomfortable and saddening.
- For example, when Jim puts boxes on a treadmill, you might wonder where it came from, but then it hits you later. His mother got that as a gift for him to help his health, but he likely gave up after a while.
- Seeing Jim engage in these negative habits since infancy. While it helps "makes him stop" (prevents tantrums in context), just the idea that habits can start that early is a knife to the heart.
- Some Fridge Horror? He had a wife and son. How would they react knowing he's near Death's door?
- The overall message of the PSA. How unhealthy habits, if not dealt with correctly in childhood, can carry over into adulthood. "Your child's future doesn't have to look like this." indeed.
- Although, their final message is hopeful, "There's still time to reverse the unhealthy habits our kids take into adulthood."

Please watch Fraggle Rock: Back to the Rock. https://youtu.be/Vm92JNgPbqkHeartwarming.The Kingdom Of Dreams has been created and edited entirely by the work's author, Demetrios. As it lies afoul of Auto-Erotic Troping, would it the alright to cutlist the page? I'll check the pages of his other works if they also have moment pages under the same circumstances. I would send a notifier to him but one of my last interactions with him were uncomfortable and I would rather not interact with him directly (not site-rule breaking I think but I'll explain more if you ask in my PMs).
Victor of HGS S320 | "There's rosemary, that's for remembrance. Pray you, love, remember."Yes, that needs to go.
A lot of that seems kind of exaggerated TBH. Like I can see how the message might be a little sad, but if it's just "a man had lifelong habits that made him unhealthy", like... yeah that sucks but like... IDK... it just doesn't work for me. And the longer it goes on the more exaggerated it gets, especially the Fridge Horror part.

Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI also found the PSA really not sad, just straightforwardly showing the message. It pales to the other PSAs on the page. I'd cut it now but I'd like one more opinion because I have a fear of jumping the gun.
