For a list of bad laconics, see Sandbox.Pages Needing Better Laconics.
For generally accepted guidelines for laconics, see Sandbox.Laconic Wiki Template.
Today I found out an interesting fact from troper Ironeye:
Don't ever make the mistake of using the Laconic version as the canonical trope meaning—the laconics are often written by people who don't actually understand the drop. In this case, the laconic only corresponds to one possible cause of Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy.
The Laconic Description for DIAA states as follows:
The thing is, these descriptions are supposed to make it easier to understand what the page is about. If they can't be accurate as well as short and sweet, then there's a problem.
So for starters, what would be a better description for DIAA?

What's confusing about it?
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI can’t understand what it’s about. It simply says the text displayed after death. It’s pretty confusing.
Because the trope is about text displayed after death? Sounds pretty straightforward. I'd like to hear your alternative take.
TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupMaybe specify that it is about a game over screen that is funny or amusing?
But it's not a game over screen, it's a "you died, lmao" screen. Not all deaths end the game.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessI looked at the main page, and I believe this should be a better description.
EDIT: Trimming.

TBH, I'm a bit uneasy about the non-game section, those examples feel misplaced, but there's nothing to do about it without TRS.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessJust wondering, do you otherwise like my suggestion?
It's fine, though I think the current one is just as good, it's a lateral change IMO.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessThank you for your response.
I added the Cinderella one. I tweaked it slightly because I remembered that Ever After is on the page, and it discards the supernatural/magical elements. So, I just added the word the "usually" to the sentence.
Here’s this for Resident Evil 2
Both look nice to me.
I like these.
I ended up in a circular Laconic with Hot Shots! leading to Airplane! leading to Zero Hour! (1957) leading back to Airplane. Anyone familiar with these works?
The things in my dreams wish they could chase me!Another batch, while waiting on Resident Evil one. Of course, valuing input of anyone familiar with the works.

TroperWall / WikiMagic CleanupThe laconic page for Atop the Fourth Wall is currently just a paraphrase of the show's theme song.
I'm thinking of changing it to this:
All those suggestions look good imo.
A page which has room for improvement is Laconic.Lethally Stupid. It says:
What do you think? Should I make this change? Do any of you have any other ideas?
Protectors of the Plot Continuum is... not particularly helpful for understanding the group's premise. Given that the page in its current form has gone virtually unchanged since 2010note , this isn't much of a surprise.
Suggesting that it be updated to the following:
Normally I'd agree, but the fact that the trope is meant to be more than just "stupidity causes problems" makes me a bit hesitant. I don't think your suggestion is "redundant", I'm just not sure it's specific enough.
Currently Working On: Incorruptible Pure PurenessImo, that looks like a good replacement.
Thanks and how about this then?

I think that's the same issue, but with different words.
It implies that any problem might count, and self-awareness is irrelevant, but the trope is really "An oblivious person's stupidity unintentionally causes dangerous problems for others".

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading.I didn't see oblivious or a synonym of it being mentioned on the main page, though thanks otherwise. Is this a good description now?
Laconic.Lightyear has two, which I'm pretty sure isn't allowed. The top one's too long, the bottom one's unclear.
I'd like to apologize for all this.
Have a Nice Death has a confusing laconic section.
