This thread is for general discussion of page quotes, whether to change, move or remove them.

Unused quotes should be put on a Quotes Wiki page (just replace the namespace in the URL of the wiki page you are making a quotes page for with Quotes/) or, if they don't have an article, on Quotes Looking for an Article.

Image captions are discussed elsewhere and have their own thread in the Image Pickin' forum.

A quote from Deus Ex was recently added to the UsefulNotes.COVID 19 Pandemic page, right under all the examples:

"...Know what? Only that the long night is over. The crown of government is tarnished, but that will fade in time. The riots, a fever dream; the plague, a horrible nightmare; and like everything else that's happened such things will only be dimly remembered upon waking to their normal lives. In the end, all sins are forgiven. Even yours..."

It seems out of place for a Useful Notes page (not to mention the potholing), easy cut?

Seconded. I agree it's out of place and that it cut be cut.

Maybe this isn't the right place to ask this, however, I'm uncertain about this particular quote for Quotes.Team Rocket Wins. While I feel it might work out-of-context, in-context it's not an example, though the speaker at the time thought he won. Also, part of me is unsure if everything after "I ate that darn canary!" is unneeded or not.

In case I need to bring this up, I'm aware I don't need to consult this thread in regards to Quotes subpages, I'm asking it because I'm unsure about this particular quote. Anyway, here's the full quote in question:

Well, what do you know? I finally did it! [He laughs then catches his breath.] I really did it! I ate that darn canary! [He sucks on his fingers.] Success is so sweet.

Okay, I was looking for page quote ideas for TearJerker.Better Call Saul and I was wondering if this one from the episode "Five-O" would work:

I'm not certain on whether that works out-of-context for now. About not being an example in context, I don't think that's a problem based on what I've seen on this thread.

Bootstrapped Leitmotif has no page quote, but it does have a Quotes page... with one quote.

I think we should add that quote to the main page and cut the Quotes page, at least until someone finds more quotes.

No "Bowser's Fury" questions please. I haven't played it yet.

Upon my learning about the Digital Tabletop Game Adaptation page, it immediately called to mind a quote from the recent Zero Punctuation review of Card Shark and Postal: Brain Damaged:

Card games and board games were invented because someone wanted to imagine a big awesome fight between two scary dragons and cards were the best solution available at the time to visualize that. But now we actually have the technology to visualize an actual big awesome fight between two scary dragons and we're using it to depict the fucking cards.

What do you think? Reckon it's worth setting it as a quote on the page?

Legacy Seeker's was removed without reason. The user also removed the example from the page without reason (which has since been restored), so it might just be a Single-Issue Wonk.

I don't think it's a bad quote. Should we restore it?
