     Pre-Release
Chelsea isn't the real Big Bad here
It's her parents who are forcing her to continue to feud between mermaids and krakens by antagonizing Ruby.
  • Jossed: Chelsea's not only the Big Bad, but also the original Mermaid Queen Nerissa.

Chelsea will ultimately become a Broken Pedestal to the school
If she is the giant mermaid who terrorizes the town, then people will ultimately see how she was only pretending to be nice to them (well, as nice as she tried to pretend to be, anyways) and they will shun her as a result, making her one of these.
Chelsea: You're... booing me?! I'm a mermaid! She's [Ruby] the monster!
Girl who carried the "Marry Me" sign: The only monster here is you! (crumples her sign and throws it at Chelsea)
  • Confirmed. Upon revealing herself to the public, in her true Mermaid Queen form, the populace is quickly horrified. Being filmed later as the depowered Chelsea, where she continues to act petty, doesn't help her matter.

Ruby and Chelsea will create a truce between the krakens and mermaids.
Ruby will find common ground with Chelsea or discover something that troubles her deeply, leading to a possible Tear Jerker moment for Chelsea after Ruby defeats her in combat, but Ruby will give a big speech and both species will end their feud.
  • Jossed: Ruby tries to offer Chelsea/Nerissa to end things peacefully, but the Mermaid Queen admittedly refuses.

The Behemoth Battle in the trailer happens merely in the first or second act.
The trailer very blatantly shows a scene where a trident-clutching Chelsea turns into a gigantic One-Winged Angel form, and Ruby uses her powers to turn into a giant kraken and battle her, looking like the climactic battle of the movie. However, it's possible that Chelsea is merely a Starter Villain for Ruby, and said battle takes place fairly early on in the movie, only to lead up to the reveal of the true Big Bad of the movie, whom the trailers have not shown yet.
  • Jossed. It's the main climax where Ruby, along with her mother and Grandmamah, reunite to finally fight the empowered Chelsea.

Alternatively, the big climax battle at the end of the trailer will turn out to be Ruby's dream
After her meeting with her grandmother and knowing the krakens' purpose to battle the mermaids, she will return home and dream about her being a mighty kraken who defeats a trident-wieldering Chelsea and wins the humans' approval, as her main motivation as a teenager is fitting with society. Being a hero and defender of a human town can grant her that instead of hidding her heritage forever.
  • Jossed. This isn't a dream.

If Ruby and Chelsea become friends, it will be contested by both Krakens and Mermaids.
After Ruby defeats the mermaid threat and gives Chelsea a chance, she'll offer a hand in friendship to finally end the Kraken-Mermaid feud. Chelsea will point out it won't be that easy.
Chelsea: A Mermaid and a Kraken becoming friends? People aren't going to like this.
Ruby: Of course, they won't. People are stupid.
  • Jossed. Ruby and Chelsea don't become friends, as "Chelsea" doesn't want to entertain the idea.

Not only do humans believe Krakens are ship-sinking monsters, but Mermaids do too.
In a third-act twist, Chelsea will reveal she believes mermaids are the beautiful saviors of the ocean and they're saving humanity from the evil and destructive Krakens. This will cause Ruby and Chelsea to realize this conflict isn't as Black and White as either thought.
  • Partly confirmed. Going by Grandmamah, and Ruby's own confirmation, humanity generally liked mermaids. There's no indication they were viewed as negatively before, until "Chelsea" made her destructive presence known to Oceanside. The people of Oceanside, at the bare minimum, would view "Chelsea" as a danger.

Chelsea will have a fish and crab as her lackeys.
To complete the Corrupted Character Copy angle. And if Dreamworks wants to get particularly venomous, they're defeated by being caught and turned into a sushi dinner.
  • Jossed, Chelsea doesn't have minions, though Gordon Lighthouse, the other villain of the movie, does have a crab pet called Davey.

Ruby's initial reasons for going to her grandmother to learn how to gain better control of her powers will mostly be selfish
From what we can gather in the trailer, Ruby will initially not want anything to do with her kind's war against the mermaids and only wishes to live the life of a normal teen on the surface. Things change when Chelsea arrives on the scene and threatens to expose Ruby's facade, which prompts Ruby to seek out her grandmother in hopes of getting the training she needs to get Chelsea out of her life and keep her secret safe. Over time, however, Character Development will make Ruby abandon her initially selfish motives and join her fellow Krakens in protecting the world against the mermaids.
  • Mostly confirmed. Ruby ironically goes with her Grandmamah's training in order to help Chelsea to do a selfless action. However, she does initially reject the training precisely to have a normal life.

Many aspects of the trailer are actually out of context and are misleading
Like for instance, the part of the trailer where Chelsea tells Ruby that she knows she's a kraken hiding as a human in the first scene they meet is probably going to be from a different scene in the movie while the dialogue between Ruby and Chelsea when they first met is completely different.
  • Confirmed, specifically about the Chelsea dialogue claiming she knows Ruby's secret. That's original dialogue for the trailer that doesn't show up in the film, as the circumstances of Chelsea's big arrival are portrayed differently.

Chelsea (or her parents) treat their fellow mermaids like trash
They're so evil they even mistreat and harm other mermaids due to them being heavily in charge.
  • Jossed. From what we see, Chelsea is the only known Mermaid on-screen left, though we don't know if she's the last of the Mermaids in the present day. Therefore, it's hard to definitely say she treats her fellow mermaids like that.

Chelsea will not redeem and will be Killed Off for Real
  • Considering that Chelsea is a teen on a kids' movie this is very unlikely, but not impossible. A way would be for her to be petrified and shattered. But again this Movie does not seem to go to a mature way like Prince of Egypt or like How To Train Your Dragon
  • Semi-confirmed. "Chelsea" rejects Ruby's offer to give up and turn a new leaf, but she's merely depowered after their battle. She's quickly detained by Captain Gordon Lighthouse, but he keeps her alive while doing his live stream.

The real Big Bad is a monster hunting sailor akin to Captain Ahab
The latest poster shows an old man with an harpoon gun on a boat that has both mermaid and kraken statues adorned on it, and he's in the background. This man doesn't seem to be friends with either mermaids or krakens. In fact, he might be a monster hunter of some kind who targets both species for profits and fame, forcing the mermaids and krakens to band together. The fact he's human also helps avoid the Always Chaotic Evil implication simply on the grounds there are good humans already.

He's also likely Will Forte's character too.

  • This is partially confirmed, Will Forte's character is named Gordon Lighthouse, is described as "A rusty old sailor in Oceanside who works a Tour Guide." It could be likely that Gordon is the Hidden Main Villain who is intentionally being shown very minimally in the advertising, similarly to Big Jack Horner in Puss in Boots: The Last Wish who did not appear on the trailers or posters in favour of Death and Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Considering his description as "A rusty old sailor" this could mean that he was or is in secret a kraken and mermaid hunter. This gets more strong when seeing more closely the Image of him in that poster, on top of him there is a sign that reads "Monsters are Real!" Which could confirm the theory that he is a Monster Hunter Sailor ala Captain Ahab

    • Jossed. Gordon Lighthouse is a starting antagonist for Ruby, but he's actually not a surprise final boss. Chelsea, as seen in the trailers, remains as the true Big Bad.

Krakens and Mermaids used to live in peace
Well, we so far don’t know why The Krakens and Mermaids are even enemies since all we know is that The Mermaids are evil that include Chelsea.

The possibility could be that The Krakens and Mermaids used to live in peace together, until something possible caused their feud to start.

  • Jossed. According to Grandmamah's narration, the Mermaids were some of the many factions that were after the ruling throne of the Seven Seas, which is currently controlled by the Krakens.

Chelsea’s Childhood Past
Since we so far don’t know much about Chelsea besides her being popular with people and a mermaid, it could be possible that we could learn about her past in the film where it could explain her Freudian Excuse of her life of The Mermaids.
  • Jossed. We do learn about Chelsea's past, but in a twist, it's actually about her years as Nerissa the Mermaid Queen through Grandmamah's narration.

Even if the Krakens and Mermaids call a truce, Ruby and Chelsea will keep going at each other.
Personal feuds often have much stronger vitriol and hatred than feuds between two collectives, and if Chelsea is as vain as the trailers indicate, she will have enough personal disdain for Ruby to keep fighting even after the Kraken/Mermaid feud overall has stopped.

  • Partially Jossed. There's no true truce, but with Chelsea still alive after being defeated by Ruby, it's fair to say her vendetta against her mother now extends to the whole Gillman linage (if that's ever followed up).

Ruby and Connor will become a Official Couple at the end of the movie
After the climax, Ruby will confess her love to Connor which he also confesses that he loves her. Dreamworks has done the Interspecies Romance trope before, so it wouldn't be surprising if they end up together.

  • Confirmed.

There will be some kind of estrangement between Ruby's mother and grandmother
From what we see in the trailers and commercials, the Gillman family live well away from their own kind, instead trying to pass themselves off as a normal human family. Seeing as Ruby never learned of her royal heritage from her mother, it seems likely this keeping her in the dark was due to some kind of falling out between her mother and grandma, which seems to be why the Gillmans live among humanity instead of their own species.
  • Confirmed. This plot was hidden in the trailers, but Grandmamah and Agatha discuss their fallout with each other. Agatha wanted to get out of her royal duties, and live the normal life she enjoys on the surface, due to her controlling mother. Meanwhile, Grandmamah is disappointed that her daughter rejected her birthright, right after being an ace in the hole in riding the Mermaid forces.

Chelsea is a social outcast under the sea.
A clip shows her and Ruby talking in the bathroom, and when Ruby mentions spending all of her life feeling like a social outcast, Chelsea’s face gets a sad, distant look that… honestly, even with everything else, doesn’t FEEL fake. Like she genuinely had a nerve of hers hit when Ruby talked about that. Maybe under the sea, she’s actually alienated from the other mermaids and bullied by them for some reason. Like maybe the monstrous depiction of Mermaids compared to Chelsea are what they’re ACTUALLY supposed to look like, and because Chelsea is more conventionally pretty by surface standards, the mermaids view her as being butt ugly or a freak or something, and maybe that’s why she pushes herself to do the stealing the trident and becoming a giant monster thing while trying to play the role of a villain. Because if she takes over the surface world she could finally get some respect from the other mermaids.
  • Jossed. Chelsea is Nerissa the Mermaid Queen, who was respected enough during the Mermaid-Kraken War until they were forced into hiding.

Chelsea will legitimately see Ruby as a friend...
..But not enough to give up her evil plans.
  • Jossed. It becomes clear that Chelsea's act of kindness toward Ruby was only a means to an end, in order to fulfill her revenge plot. During their final battle, Chelsea has no qualms about being dismissive and beating down on Ruby's self worth.

     Post Release

Ruby will continue to develop new powers related to her Kraken abilities.
It's possible that there are more powers, or at least different applications of her existing powers, that Grandmamah either didn't tell or wasn't aware were possible for Krakens. Ruby was able to apply her calculus skills to use her laser eyes to effectively destroy the Trident of Oceanus, which was thought to be impossible by her mother Agatha.

There are some hiding mermaids that are still living in the present
In Grandmamah's narration, she notes that the mermaids eventually went into hiding when Agatha finally fought back. However, Agatha essentially offered them mercy, which annoyed Grandmamah's desire to finish them off completely. While Nerissa may still hold a grudge against Agatha, it could be possible that some mermaids legitimately decided to defect and reform over the years. If they were to catch wind of what happened to their leader, that would only cause these reformers to maintain this position.

  • Or worse, restarting the War between the Krakens and Mermaids, seeing as Grandmamah is still highly prejudiced against them even after taking down Chelsea/Nerissa.

Gordon Lighthouse's divorced ex-wife Tammy is none other than Grandmamah
She didn't left him because of him mortgaging the house for the boat to hunt krakens, she left him and the human world because of him becoming a danger for her, their children, and the kraken race.

It could also explain why she has such an attitude towards humans, and why she was so against her daughter and her family moving to the surface with them.

Ruby Gillman takes place in the same universe as Tales of Arcadia.
Think about it: Both have towns with some connection with mythical creatures and a young protagonist (one being a high school boy with mystic armor, the other a Kraken princesss) destined to protect them from evil forces. Having Ruby and friends inhabit the same world that has a hidden civilization of Trolls, alien refugees (who also happen to be royalty), Merlin's time-traveling apprentice, and god-like, elemental Titans wouldn't be too much of a stretch.

Male Royal Krakens CAN turn Giant, but they're extremely rare.
Perhaps sometimes, throughout the Krakens' history, there have been a few male Krakens in the royal bloodline whoe have gained the power to turn into Giant Krakens. However, due to the Krakens being huge sticklers to tradition, they were not allowed a place on the throne, similar to the Royal Butterfly Family of Mewni.

Krakens DID sink human ships, but they were Well-Intentioned Extremists
  • As an alternative to above, Giant Krakens DID actually attack human ships in the past, but only those that overfished or damaged the ocean in some way. So the sailors who were attacked were not "innocent" (from the Kraken's point of view anyway). After all, Grandmamah said Krakens were protectors of the seas, not necessarily humans.

Ruby, and by extension the Gillmans, are really Canadian and it isn't only a lie (and a gag) she uses to disguise herself from the humans.
Perhaps, while the fact about saying she's Canadian is showed in the film to be used as an excuse when questioned about her weird quirks, like the blue skin, by others, maybe her family really did come from a Canadian sea, and so in a way she's really also a Canadian. It isn't never made clear to which sea does Ruby go to find her grandmother. Maybe this would explain why her grandmother insisted to her to call her Grandmamah, which, while isn't the exact spelling of the way grandma is in French, it does sound a little like it was French, implying maybe also that not only Ruby's really Canadian, but also that she's a Québécoise girl.

The whole movie is in-universe kraken propaganda made to justify their persecution of mermaids.

One of the many monsters the Krakens fought was Godzilla.
At one point during their war, the Krakens and the Mermaids ended up fighting the King of the Monsters himself. Of course, Godzilla turned out to be too strong for either of them, resulting in massive casualties on both sides. From that point onward, both the Mermaids and the Krakens did everything they could to avoid Godzilla, as they know full well that he can and WILL destroy them all if they ever give him a reason to do so.

     Sequel Theories

Possible Villains
As Ruby will now be protecting Oceanside from mermaids despite Chelsea being the only known one, there could be another villain or many who may become real threats besides the Mermaids:

  • Hades
  • Ursula (or an Expy of her)
  • Medusa (who wouldn't want a kid-friendly rematch between these two, Clash Of The Titans style.)
  • Pirates (one of which is an evil Expy of Captain Jack Sparrow (who's actually the best pirate in this universe), especially if they get Johnny Depp or a Depp-sound-alike to voice him.)
  • Tick-Tock The Crocodile
  • Death (could techinally be merged with Hades, seeing as both are connected in lore.)
    • This troper meant the one from Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, because of there being a possibly on him not only being Shrek’s universe of The Grim Reaper and could possibly travel through worlds.
  • Kaiju (seeing as Ruby can turn into a Kaiju-sized Kraken, could be a good way to get Japan involved in a sequel, especially if we get an evil Expy of Godzilla).
  • An Evil Manta Ray
  • An Alpha Bitch who could turn into a dragon.
  • A Leviathan
  • An Umi-Bozu
  • A Evil Starfish
  • The Devil Whale, as teased in the first film.
  • The Government, or at least an Improperly Paranoid agent.
  • To keep on with the theme of Chelsea being a Corrupted Character Copy of Ariel, one of King Triton.

The Other Monsters
Throughout the Exposition Dump Grandmamah gives Ruby, she namedrops two of the statues, specifically the two at the far left of the Kraken, as the Leviathan and Umi-Bozu. What about the others?.
  • Between the Leviathan and Umi-Bozu, there's a gaping open mouth with multiple teeth. This void-like creature seems to be connected to Charybdis, of Greek mythology, who is often depicted as a living whirlpool.
  • At the immediate left of the Kraken, there appears to be a beast of multiple heads. They namedrop the Hydra later in the movie, so it's a safe bet this is who they're supposed to be.
  • Above the Hydra, there's a goat-like beast. Now this one is interesting, sea spirits resembling rams or goats are uncommon, but not unheard of. However, I think this could be the Nykur or Nixie, of Norse fame, a shapeshifter that can take the form of any animal, but "...does not know how to create the horn-points of a ram or a male lamb on himself.". The stumpy ends on the horns end giving away the Nykur's identity.
  • Lastly, a giant "Devil Whale" with a crown. According to Persian mythology, we'd be dealing with the Bahamut, a whale so giant, it could carry the giant oxen Kuyuthan, as well as the entirety of Earth, above its shoulders. Given that the Bahamut would go on to be referred in the Dictionnaire Infernal as Behemoth, we should expect them and the Leviathan to clash.

One of the villains manipulated the Mermaids and Krakens to war.
Just to prove all sea creatures are just as bastardy as the humans (or at least they believe to be) and they are the one true species capable of ruling everything else.

There will be a resurgence of the war between Mermaids and Krakens
Maybe a kingdom of mermaids have been able to survive somewhere after the defeat. The news of Nerissa's defeat could convince them to take action again. Depending on how the Mermaids' faction is portrayed, the story would either be a black-and-white conflict between the Good Krakens and the Evil Mermaids; or a more nuanced conflict between two factions who want to control the same territory, and in which neither side is completely right. In the latter case, Ruby could be the mediator trying to find a diplomatic solution. To keep on with the theme, their leader could even be a Corrupted Character Copy of King Triton.

  • Definitely seems to be hinting it with Ruby becoming a Kraken protector of Oceanside, implying the Mermaids might return in the future to wreck havoc.

Ruby and/or Grandmamah would end up becoming (a) villain(s)
Though this being unlikely in a kids film, it's possible that Ruby and/or Grandmamah might end up bigoted towards mermaids and some other races and going on a genocidal rampage or declaring war towards said races, though there might have been benevolent members of said species, like good mermaids, allowing either Ruby or her grandmother or both of them to become the sequel's next villain(s).

  • Very unlikely with Ruby, who seems to outright love humans and has a human boyfriend in Connor and is naturally inclined to do good with her powers (plus she's the main star).
  • Grandmamah on the other hand has a very good chance of going rogue in order to maintain her power on the throne and to ensure that Krakens controls the seas (and with both her daughter and granddaughter having outright rejected the throne), Grandmamah's still highly prejudiced against other species that aren't Krakens, Ruby will have no choice but to take up the throne herself in the future event that her grandmother ever turns to villainy to maintain her power.

If there’s a sequel, the villain will be a villainous Kraken and one of Ruby’s new allies will be a genuinely good mermaid.

One of the movies biggest complaints is that despite its messages of inclusivity and not just blindly judging others by initial assumptions, all the mermaids are painted as purely evil villains in their entirety with no exceptions in their race and miss out on doing something more nuanced with that with Chelsea by faking all her interactions with Ruby. I think it would be interesting to explore the ocean world more now that it’s been established, and have it be revealed that there are more kingdoms of krakens, mermaids, and other sea creatures rather than just the two they were shown. And that the mermaids that the krakens in the movie fought were all just from a kingdom that happened to be predominantly evil, but in general there are actually many kingdoms where the mermaids aren’t like that. Anyway, the movie could involve a danger that’s threatening the oceans as a whole and there’s a mermaid that’s genuinely good mermaid trying to stop it and figure things out and wants to help Ruby, but of course after the whole Chelsea incident Ruby ain’t trusting any of this. And then a kraken shows up (maybe based off of Ursula to keep the trend going) who seems like a mysterious mentor type but it’s actually the big bad who manipulates Ruby into thinking that the mermaid and her kingdom are deceiving their part of the ocean to get her help in taking over the ocean herself. It’d be a good lesson in not judging a species (or a race) by their entirety just because of the actions of one specific member of it.

  • Could also tie into the above scenario with Grandmamah going rogue.

Chelsea is Real After All
Mainly, being the daughter of Queen Nerissa, but unlike her mother, she focuses more on maintaining peace among the mermaids instead of following her mother's plans for revenge against the krakens. Realizing that her daughter will never go along with her plans, Queen Nerissa traps the real Chelsea Van Der Zee so she could steal her identity.

  • If that happens, then the real Chelsea will probably have a slightly different design to differentiate herself from her mom's disguise of her (different hair color and outfit color).

A new mermaid character can be a Redeeming Replacement to Chelsea.
Similar to the theory above, perhaps a sequel can introduce another mermaid villain who will go through the redemption arc so many were expecting Chelsea to go through. She will not be the Big Bad but she could be working for one (it could be Chelsea/Nerissa again, or maybe another mermaid, or an evil kraken like mentioned above). She'll start off just as narcissistic and spoiled as Chelsea was but as the story goes on this character will by influenced by Ruby and could begin to question what their leader is doing. By the beginning of the climax, this mermaid will finally pull a Heel–Face Turn, help Ruby and her family defeat (and possibly kill if necessary) the Big Bad, and become a true friend to Ruby and the Krakens, possibly signaling hope that krakens and mermaids can make peace.
  • Another idea is that this mermaid could be Black, referencing the 2023 remake of The Little Mermaid.
  • Or she could be Asian (specifically Japanese, Chinese, Korean or a mix of all 3) to tie in with the possible Kaiju scenario above, if the sequel goes global.
  • Perhaps Chelsea could pull a Heel–Face Turn herself and realize the Krakens aren't as horrible as she thought she would be. She could've been manipulated herself into thinking so by another villain.

Destroying the Trident of Oceanus will have angered the other undersea races
  • If the other races found out the Trident is destroyed, the only way they could defeat the giant krakens is to pull a Villain Team-Up.
    • The film fully establishes that only Mermaids can use the Trident as it was made specifically for them in mind and specifically designed to kill Krakens as it's their main weakness, with Ruby herself getting her arm stabbed by it.
    • Still, the idea of a Villain Team-Up to defeat the krakens seems plausible, especially if the previous attempts were all by one (type of) creature.

If there is a Kraken villain then the destruction of the Trident of Oceanus will play a role in their rise
Since the Trident was only thing stopping Krakens, its destruction means they are free to act their sinister plan.

The Devil Whale is actually The Chessmaster.
He knew that the Mermaids and Krakens together would make an extremely powerful alliance, and as powerful as he could be, even he wouldn't be powerful enough to go against their might. So the Whale set the two species up for a war as aforementioned, probably taking on the form of a Mermaid or Kraken and doing horrid things to the other species to make it look like they went rogue. And now with the relationship between Mermaids and Krakens nigh-irreversibly severed, there is literally nothing stopping him from conquering the planet on his own accord.

And when the Trident was destroyed, the Whale probably realized that the Krakens were powerful enough on their own, and decided that in order to be truly victorious, he'd have to wipe them out himself. Again, he believes that everybody besides himself is violent and/or stupid, and the war was a way for him to prove that to the masses and at the same time sneak himself into the picture as the leader of the planet while everyone else wasn't looking.

The Devil Whale is the DreamWorks variant of Mephisto.

The Devil Whale is this universe's version of Poseidon.
He was turned into a Whale by a curse placed on him eons ago. He has been off the grid ever since and he has recently resurfaced to not only get his revenge on the people who disgraced him, but also find a way to return to his original form.

The Devil Whale also has a human form.

All lies have some truth
The "twist" of this story has received some criticism as to how it goes against the theme of the movie. In the original storyboard, Chelsea and Nerissa were different characters, and the movie showed Ruby and Chelsea had some semblance of a genuine friendship. They could return to this idea and have the real Nerissa still out there, with Chelsea only pretending to be her as a decoy, or a sacrificial lamb, while looking for a more powerful weapon than the trident. Essentially a retcon to keep the family expectations theme still going.
  • Or just have Nerissa be the disguised Chelsea (since there was no way for Nerissa to get the Trident otherwise) and have the actual Chelsea show up later on as Nerissa's daughter. Like in the Chelsea is Real scenario above.

If there is a Kraken Big Bad, their plan will involve drowning the humans
The Kraken Big Bad, tired of the Royal Family sparing the Mermaids, will plan to take over so they can finish them off.

Since Mermaids are indistinguishable from humans on land, Plan A will involve drowning all the land, thereby outing any and all mermaids by simply surviving the attack.

There will be a Villain who will be a Well-Intentioned Extremist
Because of there being a war with Krakens on any other species of the oceans, it could make sense for there to be a villain who could be a Well-Intentioned Extremist.

In either the second or third film, it could have them being an Anti-Villain instead who like the possible unseen Chelsea wanted to have all other species including Krakens making peace with one another.

The surnames of the other human characters will be revealed, particularly Connor's.

Gordon will take up helping Ruby train in the sequels
He'll make his equipment no longer lethal so Ruby can practice with her powers in a way the provides some challenges to her.

A human character or two will learn how to transform into an underwater form.
They might take some inspiration from Luca but play the role in reverse with a human who tries to pass for a sea person.
  • Connor could probably learn how to swim just to be with Ruby. He may even try to dress up as a sea creature as a Paper-Thin Disguise if he does not transform at that moment.
