Room ∞, now going up!

REGRETEVATOR is a Roblox experience made by The Axolotl Sun. It functions similarly to games like The Normal Elevator and Elevator: Source, being an elevator ride that has no end. You'll find weird floors, encounter weirder specimen, and generally have a weird time.

I've accidentally summoned THE TROPES! Get to high ground!

  • Advancing Wall of Doom:
    • TARMITE is a giant steel wall that's one of these. Every 10-15 seconds, it will rush down the hallway, obliterating anyone it touches if they aren't in one of the safety holes. A weaker version also appears on the Area 51 floor.
    • Both Incinerator floors have a rapidly-advancing flame wall that cooks anything it touches.
  • Animate Inanimate Object: MannequinMark (not being the only of his kind) is, well, a mannequin, Lampert is a lamp, and Wallter is assumably a living statue.
  • Bait-and-Switch: One floor is a nighttime rave happening at the Happy Home in Robloxia... only to be interrupted by incredibly hot boulders raining from the sky.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Enphoso's voice deepens when he tells people not to steal from his store.
    • Although MR is Hated by All, DrRETRO seems to hate it the most, as whenever they're in the same elevator, RETRO will immediately vaporize MR with her laser eyes.
    • Clover doesn't seem to like humans; anytime he sees one, he darkens and immediately tries to chase them down.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Poob is otherwise a Cloudcuckoolander, but they will not hesitate to kill the player with a Deadly Gaze if you attack them.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Gnarpy looks like an adorable alien at first, but xe acts like a total Jerkass to the rest of the NPCs in the elevator. Lampshaded in xyr interactions with Lampert, in which he tells xem that it's not too late to become a better person.
  • Break the Cutie: If the elevator is full or if MR is in the elevator, and you land on Infected and Unpleasant's floor, Infected begins crying.
  • Captain Ersatz: Reddy is an obvious riff on Freddy Fazbear.
  • Defeat Means Friendship: Inverted. Should you fail to ward off Reddy on its floor, it'll simply provide an easily-avoidable Jump Scare and join the Elevator.
  • Driven to Suicide: If MR is in the elevator or if the elevator is full, and you land on Poob and Pest's floor and get Poob, they will commit suicide by walking on the train tracks and getting ran over.
    • A similar thing happens with Prototype, who will jump off the platform and fall to his death.
  • Foreshadowing: As of an update, almost every elevator NPCnote  will talk about a weird dream they had, which might link at a future event.
  • Freudian Excuse: Gnarpy's Jerkass behavior is probably caused by the fact that xe is an alien and doesn't know much about others' species; however, xe is quick to judge, deeming others' species as useless.
  • Gentle Giant: Wallter. He is the tallest NPC in the game, but he does not harm the player in anyway.
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: Jeremy. He might randomly show up, kidnap one of the players (or NPCs on the singleplayer version) and provide no further context.
  • Gigantic Gulp: Happens when the player drinks the Fizz Jug item after purchasing it.
  • Green and Mean: Gnarpy has green fur, and xe is the meanest NPC in the game, being a Jerkass to the other NPCs and not giving a single care about what xe did to Spud.
  • Hated by All: MR, and probably for a good reason, since it burns innocent NPCs to death. If it is in the elevator, it prevents the other NPCs from entering. Bive will either walk away or die to Reddy (depending on the floor you find her in), DrRETRO will kill it by firing her lasers at it (though it results in her own death as well), FleshCousin's smile becomes a frown and it will leave through a vent, Gnarpy runs away, Infected will begin to cry and run away, Jermbo will explode it, Mannequin_Mark will begin frowning, Prototype will jump off the platform he is on and falls to his death, Reddy breaks apart, Split will say "Aww split!", Spud will get very mad, Unpleasant will collapse on the ground, and Wallter will either frown and not enter the elevator or comically run away. If the elevator arrives to "OFFICE OF", Mach will be waiting at the door to whack MR with her Banhammer before going back to her desk.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: When DrRETRO blasts MR with her lasers, it will also result in her own death.
  • Humanoid Abomination:
    • The Jaobas on the UES floor, which are blue lanky creatures with yellow heads hiding in a random box, waiting for you to open the box its in so it can Jump Scare you.
    • The Follower, originally from the 2024 April Fools' Day update, is a shadowy mass which constantly follows its victim around until it finally catches up to them. If you see a purple ball on your screen, or if you choose to bite Buck's head off, you're screwed.
  • Jerkass: Gnarpy. Xe's not the nicest person to be around, rudely threatening and bossing around other NPCs in the elevator.
  • Laughing Mad: Whenever Clover spots someone, he begins laughing derangedly as he gradually starts getting blacker. It’s probably best you run like hell when this happens.
  • Mood Whiplash: The randomly-selected nature of the floors can result in this. One floor could be a tense horror experience with players dying left and right... and the next could be a danger-free kart race in a happy grasslands.
  • Mushroom Samba: Happens whenever you drink Blogsy.
  • Nice Gal: If any other NPC in the elevator has less than 50 HP, DrRETRO will heal them without hesitation.
  • Nothing Is Scarier: MR. When it does appear, it's terrifying to the start. At certain points it'll randomly cut off the lights and stare at someone, and any NPCs in the elevator with it might get set on fire. It's not hard to see why it's Hated by All in-universe...
  • Noodle Incident: We're never given the exact reason on how Gregoriah summons The Flood on the Fun Flood at Squishy's floor.
  • Official Couple: Bive and Split... kind of. They're not in a relationship, but have a strong amount of Ship Tease between them.
  • Oh, Crap!: Gregoriah's reaction after accidentally summoning the Flood on the Fun Flood at Squishy's floor.
  • Regenerating Health: Players start with 100 health, but can only naturally regenerate it back up to 50.
  • Rise to the Challenge: "Fun Flood at Squishy's" sees players climbing a playground to outrun a flood of Squishy balls.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Pest won't appreciate it if he joins the elevator with Poob inside, implying this. A more forward approach is Pest's interactions with Gnarpy and Split.
  • Sanity Slippage: Something of the sort must’ve happened to Bive.
  • Sleep Deprivation: Sab during the button room floor seems to suffer from this.
Sab: "Hey, some buttons are gonna start poppin up, *snore*"
  • Take That!: During April Fools of 2024, Unpleasant is switched from a gradient to a Chick-Fil-A combo meal, jabbing at the restaurant's infamous anti-LGBT history.
  • Token Human: Out of every NPC that can enter the elevator, Infected is the closest thing to a human by virtue of being a (mostly) normal Roblox character.
  • Toilet Seat Divorce: Wallter and Mannequin Mark’s divorce was because of their different taste in building materials.
  • Video Game Cruelty Punishment:
    • Smacking around Party Noob 10 times will eventually get them to frown at you, killing you in an instant.
    • Likewise, pelting DrRETRO with snowballs or spritzing her will get you laser-eyed.
    • Spritzing Pest 40 times gets him to rob you of all your coins.
    • Averted with Spud!, poking him too much causes him to blow up, but it won't harm anyone close to him.
    • Hitting Mach with a tomato or snowball in "WHEEL OF" or "OFFICE OF" will cause you to get smashed to bits.
  • Video Game Cruelty Potential:
    • At the end of the floor where Jeremy appears, when his victim is released, they will cough up a frog, which can be coughed into the lava below to let out a grating screech.
    • Hurting NPCs with specific items in general, Especially using Spray Bottle on Pilby will give you a badge called “HEARTLESS”.
  • Villain Teleportation: Scary Mike, on his floor, will teleport to a random player and rush along a predetermined path, killing anyone in his way before teleporting back to his "waiting area".
  • Yet Another Stupid Death: You choosing to eat Buck, the Jermbo bowling pin NPC from the Button Competition floor, will result in The Follower chasing you down.

I want you to eat an anvil.
