Comic Books
- My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (IDW): One page in issue 8 features a pony who seems to be modeled after Benedict Cumberbatch's depiction of Sherlock Holmes.
- Captain America: The Winter Soldier: Steve's notebook, in which he's written a list of things from the past 70 years he needs to catch-up on, is littered with Shout Outs. The UK version includes The Beatles, Sean Connery and Sherlock.
- Doctor Strange (2016): The part where Strange turns up his collar before going to fight is an Actor Allusion to Sherlock, where Watson points out that Sherlock likes to do this to try and "look cool". (Benedict Cumberbatch plays the protagonist of both).
- Kingsman: The Secret Service: Eggsy jokingly calls Merlin "Mycroft" at one point, referring to Sherlock Holmes' brother. Mark Strong appeared as Lord Blackwood in the first RDJ Sherlock Holmes film. Funnily enough, one particular incarnation also carries around an umbrella.
- The Dresden Files: In Skin Game Harry calls Nicodemus a psychopath, and Nicodemus responds with "Sociopath, actually". Strongly reminiscent of Sherlock. In another Sherlock reference, Nicodemus flicks Uriel in the nose to remind the latter that he's technically powerless in the situation, as C.A.M. does to John.
- Twelve Days: As part of his Enlightenment Superpowers, Terry gains the ability to catch glimpses of people's life histories. He compares it to the labels used to show Sherlock's abilities on the BBC series, although his powers don't involve language.
- Doctor Who: In the episode "The Snowmen" (written and produced by Steven Moffat), when the Doctor confronts Dr. Simeon, the swooping introductory shot of the scene and the incidental music are both in the style of Sherlock.
- Horrible Histories: The "Georgian Crimefighting sketch is an obvious parody of Sherlock, complete with the white text showing important details. It also includes a 'Dr. Mottson' and the Holmes character wearing a dark longcoat.
- It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Dennis's analysis of the lonely woman on the plane is a series of deductions ripped straight from Sherlock.
- Holy Musical B@man! has a Shout-Out specifically to the Ho Yay in Sherlock Holmes and Sherlock:Evil Sherlock: Now I'll never be able to walk Evil Watson down the aisle!
- Castle Cats: Benedict is a reference to Sherlock Holmes. He wears the classic deerstalker hat, and both his journal entry ("Elementary, dear Guild Leader") and dialogue ("You see, but do not observe") reference the famous detective. The name Benedict refers to the fact that Benedict Cumberbatch played the role of Sherlock Holmes in the BBC series Sherlock.
- Criminal Case: Case 52: A Study in Pink
- Fate/Grand Order: Grand Order's iteration of Sherlock Holmes is noticeably younger than the original, and very much a Bishōnen, such that he's almost a dead-ringer for Benedict Cumberbatch's portrayal of him in Sherlock (minus the wavy hair), particularly in "The Abominable Bride." Much of his outfit (apart from the lens-wielding corset) is virtually lifted off that particular episode◊.note
- Final Fantasy XIV: Hildibrand's rival detective is named Briarden and he introduces himself as "Consulting Inspector".
- Overwatch: * One of Reaper's unlockable voice lines is "I'm not a psychopath. I'm a high-functioning psychopath." This is a riff on the line "I'm not a psychopath. I'm a high-functioning sociopath, from Sherlock.
- Tales from the Borderlands: In the episode 2 trailer, Jack yells "THAT'S WHAT PEOPLE DO!"
- The Sherlock and John ponies from My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic also appear as obtainable characters in My Little Pony (Gameloft), as Detective Pony and Doctor Pony.
- In Ensign Sue Must Die Sherlock briefly appears in the beginning of Part 2 to tell the Star Trek (2009) crew and the Doctor how to contain the Mary Sues that have spread out over the multiverse. However, Part 3 reveals that the Sherlock they talked to was really reboot Khan (also played by Cumberbatch) posing as Sherlock to trick them into gathering all the Sues into one dimension for his own ends, and the real Sherlock had been imprisoned by the Sues the whole time. Sherlock would later lead La RĂ©sistance against the Sues.
- Arthur, King of Time and Space: One strip, in which Arthur asks Merlin if there are other groups of people going through the same adventures in different time periods, features Sherlock's Sherlock Holmes and The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes's Dr Watson.
- SF Debris: In "Ship in a Bottle" Chuck refers to Data and Geordi playing the characters Sherlock Holmes and his trusted friend, Arthur Dent.
- The Amazing World of Gumball: In "The Parking" Anais Sherlock Scans three people who were about to leave the parking lot, with Sherlock-style visual aids.
- My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic: While Rarity questions the cake store owner, ponified versions of the BBC series versions of Sherlock Holmes and John Watson appear eating in the background. The two later reappear chasing what seems to be a pony version of Moriarty. It is worth noting that the Sherlock pony has a bee cutie mark, referencing his eventual fate as a beekeeper in the original stories.
