Liv investigates the death of a local radio sex/love guru who was possibly murdered by the girlfriend of one of her lovers, and Liv finds herself psycho-analyzing everyone as a result of the brain.

Ravi meets and gets enamored by Liv's housemate Peyton and asks Liv to probe his chances with her.

Meanwhile, Major's life slowly falls apart following his arrest, leading to desperate actions.

  • Actor Allusion: Lowell refers to Liv's look as "ethereal Tinker Bell." Rose McIver was Tinker Bell on Once Upon a Time.
  • Asshole Victim: The radio sex guru was vain, self-important, and a terrible boss.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: The entire personality Liv acquired seems to be helpful, but is actually self-righteous and meddlesome, mostly interested in giving advice just to show that she is right, with no regard for hurting the people she was supposed to help.
  • Dirty Cop: Though only hinted at previously, the episode confirms that Clive's boss is working for Blaine to cover up the murders...and he's not happy with doing it, but as Blaine notes, he has no choice but to do so if he wants to keep a stock of brains.
  • Does This Remind You of Anything?: The episode opens with Liv in bed, seemingly nude under a Modesty Bedsheet as she moans and gasps, implying that she's receiving some attention from Lowell from under the sheets... until the camera pans down to reveal he's actually giving her a foot massage.
  • Five-Finger Fillet: Ravi does this to demonstrate the oyster shucking gloves to Liv, as they protect his finger when he inevitably stabs himself.
  • Flexibility Equals Sex Ability: When Chuck is talking about his Brainless Beauty wife, he brags about her being a former gymnast, due to the implication of this trope.
  • Freud Was Right: Under the influence of the sex guru's brain, Liv starts psycho-analyzing everyone she meets, usually linking any issue they have with their sex or love lives.
  • Give Geeks a Chance: Ravi meets Liv's roommate Peyton for the first time and becomes infatuated with her, but Liv doesn't want to see him get hurt as she's seen Peyton reject more eligible men constantly in the past. Ultimately Ravi points out that he's a handsome British doctor, and not quite the hopeless prospect Liv is treating him as under the effects of her current brain, and asks out Peyton anyway... who actually says yes (at Liv's suggestion, mind).
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Sasha's producer Jane used to co-host the show with her, but was eventually downgraded to producer due to the public liking Sasha much more than her, causing Jane to become resentful of Sasha and eventually causing her to plot her death.
  • Hello, Attorney!: Liv describes Peyton as one, when trying to explain to Ravi that he doesn't have a shot with a successful lawyer who also happens to look like a Victoria's Secret model.
  • High-Voltage Death: The Victim of the Week died by being electrocuted by her microphone, due to the killer splicing it into a generator. Her hands are shown to be covered in nasty burn marks as a result.
  • I Read It for the Articles: Ravi says the exact words to Peyton when she notices the children's magazine that he is reading in the waiting room.
  • Post-Coital Collapse: Liv has a vision of one of Sasha's lovers collapsing in bed next to her in this fashion.
  • Red Herring: One caller, 'Cheated on in Chattanooga', had publicly threatened to kill the woman her boyfriend was cheating on her with, who happened to be the radio host that was killed shortly after. As such, the investigation focused entirely on finding her... just as the real killer had hoped.
  • The Reveal: Lowell's claim that he got brains from a funeral home? Turns out he's a customer of Blaine's. Also leads to an Internal Reveal, as Liv ends up eating a bit of a brain he got, leading to her seeing Blaine kidnapping the brain's host, who turns out to be Major's missing friend Jerome.
  • Serial Homewrecker: Liv finds out Sasha slept with at least two men who were involved with other women, giving both women
  • Sex Goddess: The victim, Sasha was a sex specialist that gave sex and love advice. Her love advice was questionable, but supposedly the sex ones were actually good. Lowell is very interested when he learns Liv has a sex specialist on her brain and they end up in bed soon after.
  • Shirtless Scene: Lowell is shirtless when Liv comes to visit him, and he casually explains he just got out of the shower.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Slap-Slap-Kiss: The victim Sasha was having sex with her radio host rival Chuck Burd (Aaron Douglas), which he describes as "hate bangs on the side".
  • Sketchy Successor: The woman who took Sasha's place in Great Morning Sex was not well received.
  • Tantrum Throwing: Liv gets a vision of a pissed-off Sasha throwing her cupcakes at her producer for petty reasons, which is the first clue Liv has that Sasha was something of an Asshole Victim.
  • Victim of the Week: Sasha Arconi (Erica Cerra), a radio sex guru who was electrocuted via her microphone while live on air.
  • Villain of the Week: The episode's murder is Sasha's producer Jane Bowman (Jillian Bach), who killed Sasha so she could replace her as radio host of their show.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Sasha's murderer - her former producer/friend has one live on the radio when she proves to be a Sketchy Successor to the late Sasha.
  • Wham Episode: As the last episode was an anti-Wham Episode, this one serves to re-Wham-ify the plot. Major loses just about everything for his search to bring Jerome's killers to justice, and ends the episode buying a gun, Liv starts to question her relationship with Lowell, and finds out he's a customer of Blaine's. She also finds unquestionable proof that Blaine really was the one responsible for the skate park murders as she has a vision from Jerome after unintentionally eating his brain, and seeing Blaine kidnapping him. And on top of everything, Ravi's experiments on a rat to find a cure for zombieism leads to him being bitten by an infected rat, meaning he's likely going to be in the same boat as Liv.
  • Woman Scorned: The prime suspect of Sasha's murder is the 'Cheated on in Chattanooga' caller who treated her boyfriend and Sasha live moments before her actual death. Subverted in that when Liv tracts her down and finds out Sasha did indeed seduce and sleep with the woman's husband, she only made the call to mess with Sasha's head. It was Sasha producer Jane who killed her, and left clues for the detectives to find out who the 'Cheated on in Chattanooga' was in hopes she would get arrested instead.
  • Wrong-Name Outburst: While making out with Lowell, Liv has a vision of Sasha having sex and happens to say her lover's name, causing Lowell to joke that he really hopes that name isn't a guy she's pretending him to be while making out with him.
