"Sorry, pal, you just had your final thought!"
Rosie O'Donnell

The fourth episode of the first season of Celebrity Deathmatch, which is titled Nick in a Coma. For this episode only, Nick is replaced by special guest commentator Jack Nicholson.

The episode consists of two pre-determined fights, as well as one fight which takes place in the mind of a comatose Nick. The first undercard fight features supermodel Cindy Crawford and comedian Janeane Garofalo. The second fight takes place within a morphine-induced dream sequence between Elvis Presley and Jerry Garcia. The third fight and main event is the heavily-anticipated rematch between Oprah Winfrey, Rosie O'Donnell, and Jerry Springer.

This episode provides examples of:

  • All Just a Dream: The fight between Elvis Presley and Jerry Garcia.
  • Berserk Button:
    • Cindy Crawford does not react very well to having her trademark mole scratched from her face.
    • Jerry Garcia starts off the fight as a Pacifist, however after being punched and kicked repeatedly by Elvis Presley, he suddenly becomes very willing to fight back.
    • In a double-whammy, Oprah Winfrey becomes enraged when Jerry Springer suggests to her that Rosie O'Donnell has been sleeping with her husband; Rosie then becomes equally enraged when Oprah calls her a "cheap slut".
  • By the Hair: Enraged at losing her iconic beauty mark, Cindy Crawford grabs Janeane Garofalo by the hair and starts spinning her around until the hair rips.
  • The Cameo: This episode features appearances from Jack Nicholson, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Jimi Hendrix.
  • Continuity Nod: This episode is a follow-up to an earlier episode where Jerry Springer interrupts a sanctioned fight between Oprah Winfrey and Rosie O'Donnell, and challenges them to a three-way fight to the death.
  • Double Knockout: How the fight between Cindy Crawford and Janeane Garofalo ends.
  • Dream Episode: While visiting him in the hospital, Nicky Jr. accidentally gives Nick an overdose of morphine, causing him to have a fever dream featuring the fight between Elvis Presley and Jerry Garcia.
  • Enemy Mine: After realizing that they had been set up, both Oprah Winfrey and Rosie O'Donnell decide to call a truce and take on Jerry Springer together.
  • Food Slap: Moments before the main event begins, a spectator from the audience (a cowboy) throws a steak at Oprah Winfrey that hits her in the face.
  • Gimmick Matches: Oprah, Rosie, and Jerry all fight within a giant domed cage, aptly named the Dome of Devastation.
  • Groin Attack: Jerry Garcia lands one on Elvis Presley during their fight.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: Jerry Springer is torn in half (vertically) by Oprah Winfrey and Rosie O'Donnell.
  • Hallucinations: Jerry Garcia is so high that he starts hallucinating weird shapes on his hand. He even briefly hallucinates that Elvis Presley's head has been replaced with a giant strawberry.
  • I Don't Like the Sound of That Place: The Dome of Devastation.
  • Leotard of Power: Cindy Crawford is shown wearing a purple leotard...especially when she has to fulfill her pre-fight obligation if she were to lose.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: Jerry Springer uses this tactic against his opponents by suggesting to Oprah Winfrey that Rosie O'Donnell had been sleeping with her husband.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: Cindy Crawford sustains a compound fracture of her entire right humerus after an elbow drop attempt is dodged by Janeane Garofalo at the last second. By logic, Crawford should have lost all use of her right arm. However, not only does Cindy barely react to the fracture, but she continues to move and grab things with her arm as if nothing happened.
  • Non-Lethal K.O.: After being spun around by her hair, Janeane Garofalo is sent flying into ropes and bounces back into Cindy Crawford. Their heads collide, knocking each other out. Mills immediately calls the fight a draw.
  • "Open!" Says Me: After interviewing Jack Nicholson and learning that he really despises Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny invites Leonardo into the room. Leonardo then proceeds to kick the door off of its hinges before entering.
  • Round Hippie Shades: Jerry Garcia is shown sporting a pair of these.
  • Sexual Euphemism: Jack Nicholson is clearly infatuated with both Cindy Crawford and Janeane Garofalo, to the point that he wonders aloud if Janeane is interested in his "little Oscar" and that he wants to "present" her with it.
  • Speak of the Devil: At the end of the episode, Jack Nicholson talks to Johnny about how he wants to challenge Leonardo DiCaprio to a fight and starts to trash talk him. Johnny then responds by inviting Leonardo, who is seemingly waiting on the other side of the door, into the room to accept his challenge.
  • Still Wearing the Old Colors: Oprah, Rosie, and Jerry are all wearing the same clothes that they wore a few episodes ago.
  • There Can Be Only One: After teaming up and taking out Jerry Springer, Mills has to remind Oprah Winfrey and Rosie O'Donnell that only one combatant may leave the cage alive.
  • Weight Woe: Before their fight, Cindy Crawford and Janeane Garofalo make a pact - if Crawford loses, she has to gain 50lbs; if Garofalo loses, she has to lose 50lbs.
    • Formerly Fat: Garofalo is shown later in the episode to be locked in a sauna for her to rapidly lose her 50lbs.
    • Formerly Fit: Crawford is shown later to be gorging herself on burgers for her to rapidly gain her 50lbs.
