Characters introduced in Zero Divide
Zero
- All-Loving Hero: Strongly implied in Zero Divide 2. Whereas most other characters either engage in some sort of celebration of victory or walk away indifferently from the defeated Eve, Zero by contrast holds her up in a Pietà Plagiarism fashion taking pity on her in his ending.
- Blue Is Heroic: He's the protagonist (and the eponymous "Zero" of the series) and is clad in a blue exoskeleton.
Tau
- Beware My Stinger Tail: Given its scorpion-like designed appearance, it's a given.
- Scorpion People: More like scorpion robot in terms of appearance in this case.
Wild3
- The Gunslinger: A gun is this fighter's primary weapon. Also has a knife as a secondary weapon.
Io
Eos
- The Grappler: Given that this character's fighting style is that of Judo.
Cygnus
- Highly-Visible Ninja: A robot ninja-looking AI to be exact.
- Laser Blade: In fact this combatant uses a set of two.
Draco
- Expy: At least playstyle-wise, Draco is basically like the genetically engineered fighting kangaroo Roger from the Tekken series.
- Mechanical Animals: Well a mechanical mythological creature, dragon, in this case.
Nereid
- Multi-Armed and Dangerous: As can be seen here in which two hands are like average human hands while another set have drills at their ends.
- Stance System: Has two different stances that it can switch between depending on which side, forward or back, is facing an opponent.
- This Is a Drill: Has a set of two drills as a weapons.
Zulu
- Defeat Means Playable: Has to be beaten with all eight default characters on the roster in order to unlock.
- The Dragon: Zulu is a servant of XTAL who fights opponents to determine if they would be worth XTAL's time.
- Worthy Opponent: Zulu will acknowledge his opponent as this if they manage to defeat him.
XTAL
- Brain Monster: Has this kind of appearance.
- Large-Ham Announcer: XTAL, much like Shao Kahn, in addition to being a character in some games is also the announcer in the games he is featured in.
- SNK Boss: XTAL has a longer reach than any other characters. Also due to the fact that XTAL hovers, it is immune to low attacks.
- This Cannot Be!: Will exclaim this upon defeat.
- True Final Boss: Can be reached only by playing on normal or higher difficulty without continues.
Neco
- Eyes Always Shut: As can be seen here.
- Fighting Clown: In contrast with all the robot-like fighters in the series, he's basically a cartoony cat.
- Mascot: Of the company, ZOOM Inc., that made the series.
Characters introduced in Zero Divide 2: The Secret Wish
Pixel
- The Colored Cross: Averted. As this war prior to The Red Cross movement more strictly enforcing the trademark its red cross and related symbols (i.e. The Red Crescent and Red Crystal) starting in 2012 onward, Pixel has red crosses plainly visible on her shoulders and nurse's hat-like forehead. Safe to assume if Zero Divide 2 or Zero Divide: The Final Conflict ever received a re-release on currently supported platforms this would have to be changed, a la Video Game/Skullgirls Valentine's set of red crosses on her outfit being changed to pink in an update to the original game, to avoid running afoul of the trademark disputes.
- Heal Thyself: Among Pixel's special moves is one that she can use to heal herself.
- Hospital Hottie: Invoked in that her exoskeleton is modeled after a nurse's outfit. On top of that, her stage is made to look like the inside of a hospital.
Cancer
- Giant Enemy Crab: A giant robotic crab to be exact.
- Homing Projectile: Can fire these from his back.
Nox
- Defeat Means Playable: He can be unlocked by beating the arcade ladder with any character.
- Green and Mean: Downplayed. He has a green exoskeleton and is an antagonistic character, but he's not particularly malevolent and is simply doing a job assigned to him by Eve.
Eve
- Defeat Means Playable: She can be unlocked by beating the arcade ladder with any character.
- Expy: Of Dural from Virtua Fighter, which is fitting given how much Zero Divide is modeled on that series.
- Fembot: Much like the aforementioned Dural, but whereas that character lacks a face and any sort of facsimile of hair, Eve is designed to have a more humanoid facial appearance.
- Final Boss: Of the second game.
- Mood-Swinger: In the introductory scene before fighting her, she will start off speaking nonchalantly, then weeping wondering about why she was created and having to fight in a battle in which it could be destroyed, then suddenly going into maniacal laughter and psychotically proclaiming about assimilating her opponent, and then back to melancholy. During individual fights, she will go from being calm to psychotic at the drop of a hat.
Modoki
- Joke Character: Much like Neco, but arguably deliberately more ridiculous. Whereas Neco is fairly balanced, in contrast Modoki has no exoskeleton by default and thus takes far more damage in battle.
- Secret Character: Modoki can be unlocked by playing through arcade mode with Eve.
