Player's Allies

    Poppy Playtime
Voiced By: Abigail Turner
The show's deuteragonist: a doll that Player discovered at the end of the first episode. Since then, she has tagged with him and follows him around as an ally, informing him about everything there is in Playtime Co.
  • Bait-and-Switch Character Intro: At the end of the first Poppy Playtime Logic, she approaches Player when he opens her cage as if she's about to attack him. In the next episode, though, Player's alive and well and Poppy is actually helping him.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: Given she's a doll, she's shorter than her ally, Player.

    Huggy Wuggy
The antagonist-turned-tritagonist of the series. Initially trying to hunt down Player for trespassing the factory, he starts teaming up with him once Killy Willy shows up.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: While its unknown what happened that caused the monster Huggy Wuggy to exist in the game, this animated adaptation gives him a backstory by explaining that he Was Once a Man.
  • Adaptational Nationality: In Chapter 2 of the game, a speaker reveals Huggy to have a Simpleton Voice. But since the series started before Chapter 2 came out, GameToons' take on Huggy has a higher pitched voice with a Southern accent.note
  • It Can Think: You wouldn't think that Huggy Wuggy would show signs of intelligence considering his Super-Persistent Predator behavior. But when Killy Willy appears in Playtime Co. in the third episode, he starts speaking, which surprises Player.
  • Pink Girl, Blue Boy: The Blue Boy to Kissy Missy's Pink Girl.
  • Was Once a Man: He was once a human named Wuggson, but was turned into a living Huggy Wuggy toy.

Side Characters

    Kissy Missy

    Boss Scientist
Guy who tried to help Huggy Wuggy. Turned Wuggson into Huggy Wuggy, is a sweet bean.

Antagonists

    Elmo

    Mommy Long Legs
  • Heel–Face Revolving Door: Her morality is tough to figure out. She's often seen chasing and trying to kill Player, but there are times where the two are allies.
  • Mama Bear: If she has one consistently redeeming quality, it's that she truly loves Baby Long Legs, whom she is fiercely protective of.
  • Perpetual Smiler: Even when she's very clearly sad, her mouth usually remains in a grin.
  • Was Once a Man: Like Huggy and Kissy, she was also once a human. But rather than getting experimented on, she accidentally fell into a vat of transforming liquid.

PPL-Exclusive Toys

    Killy Willy
The first prototype of Silly Billy to be created. The Make-a-Friend Machine malfunctioned during his creation, resulting in him becoming an amalgamation. The toy manufacturers ridiculed him, invoking his rage, and eventually threw him into the furnace. Instead of burning him to cinders, he survives due to his hatred of humans...albeit with a more horrifying look.

Witnesses of him killing some of the staff have earned him the name "Killy Willy", and since they didn't have the technology to kill him, they instead chose to lock him up in the cutting room floor. He eventually breaks free from his confinement, and now he's back out for blood.

    Silly Billy
One of the three rejected Huggy Wuggy spin-offs. His existence has been known to GameToons's viewers the longest out of the three, with his first prototype becoming the now feared Killy Willy. Another Silly Billy shows up later on.

    Scary Larry
One of the three rejected Huggy Wuggy spin-offs. He was meant to corner the more edgier demographic by marketing him as "evil and cool", but it failed.

    Sissy Blissy
One of the three rejected Huggy Wuggy spin-offs. She was unpopular (which is why she was discontinued) but it is never explained why she never took off.

The Smiling Critters

    CatNap
The protagonist of the post-Chapter 3 Poppy Playtime Logic episodes.
  • Adaptational Heroism: This version of CatNap is shown to be more protective of the other Smiling ritters, and has seemingly kept them alive and well, unlike in the source game.
  • The Leader: Isn't afraid to jump in to rescue his friends when they're in danger. Considering that the supposed leader of the group, DogDay, acts in fear to actual danger, this is a given.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: While the other Critters use body proportions based around the plush toys, CatNap's body proportions are actually that of the Bigger Bodies monster.

PPL-Exclusive Smiling Critters + Forgotten Critters

    FrownyFox
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Is picked on by all the Smiling Critters other than Hoppy in part to being the only Smiling Critter without color and a scent of humidity.
  • Because You Were Niceto Me: The reason why he initially makes friends with Hoppy, and allows himself to be talked down from his initial revenge attempt on the Smiling Critters. It doesn't work though when he returns from the dead after accidentally falling into the furnace as Hoppy tried to save him.
  • Canon Foreigner: Does not appear in Poppy Playtime but appears in Poppy Playtime Logic.
  • Helping Hands: He can more often than not tear off his arm to send it into places he couldn't fit otherwise. He loses this ability however, when he becomes a ghost.
  • Mistaken for Betrayal: The main cause of his Start of Darkness. After being pelted by a cupcake meant to hit Dogday by Hoppy, he starts to believe his first real friend had turned on him as well, and breaks down emotionally, swearing revenge. It sticks though, when as Hoppy tries to save Frowny from falling into the furnace and his arm tears off as she and Dogday and Kickin Chicken fight over him. He holds Hoppy responsible despite the fact she was genuinely trying to save him.
  • One-Winged Angel / Fusion Dance: Invoked when he combines with the spirits of the Forgotten Critters to form a Chimera specter.
  • Replacement Scrappy: In-universe; was designed to serve as a replacement Smiling Critter for Catnap, but was rejected by children in test runs and tossed aside by the CEO. On top of this, all the Smiling Critters except for Hoppy Hopscotch hate him.
  • Superpowered Evil Side: After falling into a Playtime Co. furnace and being left for dead, he mutates into a larger, more violent and stronger version of himself after exposure to toxic waste.
  • Used to Be a Sweet Kid: After being given life by Catnap, he tried making friends with the other Smiling Critters only to picked on by everyone but Hoppy. When he ends up pelted by a cupcake accidentally by Hoppy (she was actually aiming at Dogday who was bullying Frowny), he becomes angrier and vows revenge on all the Critters. Things go downhill for him from there...
  • Why Won't You Die?: After his mutated form is destroyed in the Playtime Co. furnace, he returns multiple times as a ghost, hell-bent on destroying the Smiling Critters that wronged him.
