Freaky dreams, man. I don't know what it was, guess I must have been reading this page before bed, but kept getting flashes of 'Hello Megan' with my favourite witch-boy+speedster duo... can't really remember more than a few snappy lines and some bits of description... I did mange to scribble this out before the dream completely faded:
“Hey dumb kid, you put that helmet on, you might not get it off!” A petulant voice rang out.
“I wasn’t going to wear it!” Will protested immediately, tearing his eyes away. “I was just… looking.” Suddenly aware of his audience, he removed his hand from the case, embarrassed. “What is this thing for anyway? It’s not for sale is it?” he blustered, trying to look like nothing had happened. A pale boy, all dark colours and spiky hair was glaring at him from the doorway, holding a frankly alarmingly sized ginger cat. If Will had to guess, under the vampiric appearance he’d say the kid was maybe ten, eleven at most. He shot him his most winning smile.
The dark-looking boy in return shot him a look that clearly said: you are an idiot. “That’s the Helmet of Dr. Fate.”
“Dr. Fate?” Will repeated.
“Only the greatest magician in the past sixty years?"
((dialogue continues then—))
“Ah, well, you know magic’s just a lot of fa—” Will began to dismiss, but caught a glimpse of the pure venom in the boy’s face. Wrong track. He closed his eyes and hissed softly. “Let me guess. Big fan?”
“I’m his nephew.”
Will opened his eyes. Crap.
“And he’s your boss now.”
Double crap.
((more stuff happens, proper intro to Mr. Niles and Daniel, Will notes they are nothing alike))
Also, I remember a bit where Will is telling Megan (who is busy trying to make cookies) how creepy Daniel is and she says he can't be that bad, and Will flashback/tells
Daniel didn’t even look up. “The Book of Shadows. Soon, I shall have the knowledge I require to enslave humanity. My armies of demons will turn the seas to blood, the skies to ash and the land to slag. I will be Ruler Eternal of the squealing, shrieking damned—”
“…eh,” Will said awkwardly.
“I’m nine. It’s math homework, you berk''
“—And that was just this morning. I think he’s tried to behead me since then. Twice!”
