Well, that's a kinda tricky question. I would be happy if this fandom would only consist of people writing stories in my setting with own characters, furthering the world I've created more. But then there are those Porn-people. Well, I have nothing against it, but I don't think I will react calm if there's Ho Yay of characters I didn't create for that.
I want a Slash Fic involving any of my male Original Characters, that would be awesome
In an anime, I'll be the Tsundere Dark Magical Girl who likes purple MY own profile is actually HERE!I really wouldn't care what they write.
...As long as there's not too much Misaimed Fandom, anyway.
Project progress: The Adroan (102k words), The Pigeon Witch, (40k). Done but in need of reworking: Yume Hime, (50k)@ previous tropers regarding US Copyright law. Derivative works only give the copyright to both the creator of the original and the creator of the derivative work when the derivative work made by permission of the original rightsholder. AKA, your Harry Potter fanfic? Rowling owns it, and you have no rights because you made a derivative work dependent on her copyright without her express permission.
Of course, it depends on how OC your work is and how much it uses the setting or not. I've seen fix using the names and some basic characterization that if they switched names would of be a respectable independent work.
I'd be happy to recieve any fanfiction, no matter how hilariously awful or unfaithful, so long as it at least is legal.
I'd have no problem with anyone doing fanfiction of my work.
Real fans, as in meeting them, well, I've read Xenogenesis, and it creeped me out. No way would I like a fan base like that
The terrible downside to multiple identities: multiple tax returnsI think I would get a LOT of fix fics. A LOT of them. People either thinking my protag needs to be badass, or another character needs proper retribution...stuff like that.
Read my stories! If I had a fandom, I'd probably encourage all sorts of fan work, then I'd issue a ban and say I was considering legal action over some horrible Noodle Incident with a Fan Fic...On April Fool's day...(I'd make sure to keep my own copies of interesting fan works just in case people take me seriously)
To put it lightly, I'd be an epic troll if I had a fandom.
This is a signature. There are many like it, but this one is mine.I don't think I'd really care if my hypothetical fanbase wrote horrible fanfics of my characters.
I'd just be grateful my work is entertaining pepole.
Put me in motion, drink the potion, use the lotion, drain the ocean, cause commotion, fake devotion, entertain a notion, be Nova ScotianOn the subject of creators reading fanfic and the legal ramifications thereof, I actually have a plan for this if I ever get a fandom. It's also inspired by Terry Pratchett. To wit: I am totally cool with any and all fanfic up to and including Rule 34, but I can't actually read any of them unless included before the fanfic is a specific disclaimer stating something to the effect of "I wrote this fanfic but if necessary sign rights of it over to the original author, Freezair For A Limited Time, should it ever happen." Only more legally sounding.
There are two varieties of fanfic I expect above all others: Fan-Preferred Couple fic between my heroine and her Not Love Interest (which two people have basically told me they're already writing in their heads, so there you go), and Fandom-Specific Plot fic that expounds upon the heroine's unseen but often-talked about first adventure (which she doesn't remember.)
And while it's not quite fanfic, I highly expect that there will be Fan Vids... Ninety percent of which will use a song with "Miracle" in their title. In my head, I have even imagined a sarcastic forum topic entitled "The Grand List of Songs With 'Miracle' in Their Name" which is about this phenomenon. And in my head, I cheekily reply with a hastily-made Fan Vid set to the "Miracle Matter" theme from Kirby 64 The Crystal Shards.
"Proto-Indo-European makes the damnedest words related. It's great. It's the Kevin Bacon of etymology." ~MadrugadaThe first part of this would sum up my attitude rather nicely, I think.
Now, to certain other matters...
- Seeing as I am fairly certain that my work falls under the purview of the Furry Fandom - and, due to the Mind Screw nature of the plot and setting, a fairly quirky quarter of it - I am resigned to the fact that Rule 34 is in full effect.
- Bearing this in mind, I expect my fan porn to at least be well-executed, if perhaps not to my taste. Please, no Rouge Angles of Satin or You Fail Sex Ed Forever, unless you want to end up as my personal Snark Bait for all of eternity.
- On a related note: The giant Love Dodecahedron that is the interpersonal matrix of my protagonists is practically built on Crack Ships and awkwardness. Don't make it any worse than it already is.
- You are exempted from this if your fic is a comedy.
- You are also exempted from this if you are a genuinely brilliant writer with an intimate understanding of the characters. This is rare, however...
- Straight-up Crack Fic, if done well, is always welcome, but please: Don't fail, unless you plan to do so epically.
- Don't derail characters left and right without having a truly brilliant justification beforehand; even then, please, don't.
- The closest thing I can under any normal circumstances accept to a Mary Sue is someone who is already just short of Canon Sue, and even then pushing them any further into the Sue Zone * would just make them unbelievable and irritating.
- Great writing can excuse almost anything, especially great comedy. This said, be careful. Very careful. As in, "I'm carrying a small nuke" careful.
Those are all just preferences, however.

I'll hide your name inside a word and paint your eyes with false perception.Mary Sues would abound, Ho Yay at every turn (not that I mind) fix fics where Ash is suddenly badass, Incest Yay between Atha and Asha and their mom (gag) and Misaimed Fandom toward the elves.
I suspect that there would be a lot of stories centered around Aki's missing years and the man who saved him, Pippa's not recounted years and probably a lot to do with her husband, Kieran's youth and Atha and Asha after their mother left. Those ones would all either be creepy in a bad way (Aki would no doubt be paired with the man which is rape by most standards), really good (Pippa's husband is awesome and Atha and Asha are legends for a reason) or unnecessarily angsty. They all have a Dark and Troubled Past to their names but they'd no doubt be made ridiculous.
Also, Ash's parents would be vilified constantly to invoke Rule of Drama.
edit: typos, if you spot more I plead norovirus.

Hmmmm... how would fandom interpret my characters? Let's have some fun:
- Cora
- In Canon: Jerk with a Heart of Gold Snark Knight. Not exactly a Bad Ass, but eventually learns to hold her own. Becomes a better person through her experiences in the book, but still remains a Deadpan Snarker.
- In Fanon: Her Jerkass tendencies are probably glossed over (in an annoying way) to facilitate Shipping... or taken in the other direction as a Jerk Possession Sue. Either way, she is made into a distinct Bad Ass who has absolutely zero snark tendencies (though probably several insult ones).
- My thoughts: I am mildly concerned for her fate.
- Boysenberry
- In Canon: Exposition Fairy turned Sour Supporter by a grudge that spirals out of control. Incredibly mean to the progatonist throughout most of the story, though they eventually reconcile—he even states tearfully, "I'll miss your bitterness, kiddo." Mean, but eventually redeemed.
- In Fanon: For about 60% of the fandom, the reconcilliation goes way over their heads. He turns into Ron the Death Eater, and often dies in horrible ways in fic. About 30% "get it," and turn him into a second Deadpan Snarker. The remaining 10% make up Iron Clad Coyse/Bora shippers, who tend to ignore the prominent size difference.
- My thoughts: I am mildly more concerned for him, since it was my hope that people would be satisfied with his redemption.
- Danbarre
- In Canon: Hyper-emotional, fatherly Boisterous Bruiser who believes in tough love. Caring, but calls it like he sees it. Likes pretty women, and loves to swear. Views the protagonist as a surrogate daughter.
- In Fanon: Pretty much the same as in canon (remarkably)... except for the faction that ignores the "surrogate daughter" part.
- My thoughts: I don't think it's too hard to screw up Dan. And to be honest? Although my Five-Man Band has a No Hugging, No Kissing policy, if those May–December Romance slash Wife Husbandry fics are done right, I might actually find them kinda interesting.
- Mariselle
- In Canon: Sultry but sweet Team Mom; a Cool Big Sis in the body of a Frank Frazetta painting. Loves to flirt and tease, but is always willing to lend and ear. Tries to look after everyone, and also provides healing. Known for her provocative dress.
- In Fanon: Generally keeps her sweetness, but, due to her appearence, is generally made a heck of a lot more... promiscuous. Also gets in a few Girls' Love fics with the protagonist.
- My thoughts: Honestly, she's a parody Ms. Fanservice anyway, so the only thing I can say is, "I brought it on myself."
- Jasper
- In Canon: Slightly spineless White Prince who joins the band for largely Dogged Nice Guy reasons, with a side-order of vengeance for his Missing Mom. Woobieish, but very, very naive for much of the book before his Character Development.
- In Fanon: KAWAII JASUPAA-KUN IS MAI WAIFU
- My thoughts: I am effing terrified.
I'd hope to see fewer shitty Self Insert Fics and more Fix Fics and reinterpretations of my work. I would like to see how my story would look from a different mindset.
I've got new mythological machinery, and very handsome supernatural scenery. Goodfae: a mafia web serialHopefully ones that aren't better written than my own stuff. XD
This is still a signature.I must admit, I'd be interested to see if any xenofiction got written about any of my alien species, just to see how they were interpreted. That's probably unusual, though, so I doubt I'd see much if any of that.
What I'd expect would be more along the lines of invented adventures for my main characters, and the usual shipping stuff. I can imagine the faykind would be a particularly rich source of potential ships.

Epic fics. Really, really long epic fics. Ones that get complicated as hell, rethink magic systems, add heaps of well-founded Alternate Character Interpretation, extrapolate world and character histories, and all gets done by someone who is not me. When someone sits around and writes hundreds of thousands of words in my setting, using my characters and world, I take that as the highest sort of complement.
…Well, unless its a harem fic. Then it would be kinda depressing.
Reading the slash pairings would be fun, though, especially if there's enough of a community to get beyond run-of-the-mill bad and into what-the-fuck-just-happened bad. That and some decent crack fics.
