Henshin Heroes is a tokusatsu based RPG where you can use a canon character from a tokusatsu series or craft an entirely new character from scratch. The RPG takes place in a world inhabited by Kamen Riders, Power Rangers, Sentai's, Magical Girls, Makai Knights, Ultramen and any other tokusatsu hero you can think of.This world isn't just inhabited by Heroes though, there are villains too like the ruthless Smart Brain corporation has recently risen up and started an underground war with the ancient organization known as the Hellfire Club. Opposing them both is the Wild Corp. an organization of Kamen Rider's led by Zack DeRagon, aka Kamen Rider Gattack who fight against injustice wherever it can be found.Other groups include The Hellfire Club, who wish to take control of Britain with their army of various undead, Section an American funded group of Kamen Riders and TheDekarangers who have a rivalry with Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger.A plot finally began to develop and was split into different seasons or story arcs. The first arc Humanity's Screams focused on Smart Brain as the main antagonists and beginning the foreshadowing of various future plots, ending with Section destroying Smart Brain. The second arc known as The World's Heroes begins various singular plots around the world, focusing partially on Smart Brain attempting to restore itself, the beginning of Ren and Arthur's partnership, and the arrival of the forces of Heaven and Hell. The third arc Everybody's Fight focuses on many factions fighting for control, and new forces rising up as a result. Many fights followed, beginning to shape the world for the next arc, World of Darkeness, in which Japan and Europe fall to different apocalypse situations, and everyone is thrown into combat. The current arc is The Conflicting Souls of Light and Dark in which Azrael, the Angel of Death, is creating the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and attempting to bring on the downfall of humanity. Now has a characters' page that needs some love. As well as a Facebook Group and a Twitter Page
Tropes included in it are ...
Aborted Arc - Originally after Marcel's soul being devoured and his body being controlled by a demon, his girlfriend, McKenzie, was to become a female version of Kamen Rider Sabre (which would have been reminiscent of Kamen Rider Femme). Instead she became the new Kamen Rider OOO.
Actor Allusion - The IC forum games do this to a hilarious extent, especially in the Snapshot Observation game.
After the End - The idea behind Apocalypse London and Dark Moon Rising.
All There in the Manual - Rescue Force, Rescue Fire, Rescue Aqua, and the Rescue Police/Police Warriors tech and machine lists, as well as the Geistron Pirate Empire hierarchy. Future Cybercorporations is the same; all in another profile. The Hathaway Foundation has all of their tech also included in their own profile, a handful of which has yet to appear in the main game.
Ancient Conspiracy - The Hellfire Club has elements of this but they've been around since the 1700's making them less ancient than many other Ancient Conspiracies.
And I Must Scream - Marcel, after having his soul devoured by the demon he made a pact with. His soul is sitting in an unretrievable limbo in the demon's stomach, subject to an eternity of torment.
Animal Motifs: One of the primary elements of the Greeed and OOO. With three animal Medals at a time, OOO's can access a wide range of powers. default mode is Hawk-Tiger-Grasshopper; Taka-Tora-Batta in Japanese, "TaToBa" for short. Overlaps with Mix-and-Match Critters.
Gamel: Strong, heavy mammals; Rhino, Gorilla, Elephant.
Mezool: Aquatic animals; Orca, Electric Eel, Octopus.
Ren also has a bird motif in his Raven Orphnoch form.
The Enviii have this as well, each one runs on three "Core Keys". Though unlike the Greeed their form only has one visible motif.
Jyari has a Shark as his primary motif with a Manta Ray and Electric Jellyfish as his second two.
Gurinu, the forest Enviii, is designed to look like a deer with his other keys being An Owl and a Red Fox
Furizu's got a Polar Bear as his primary key and his second two being Narwhal and Arctic Fox
Dogu plays the animal motif thing up more than the other, her main key is [[Egyptianmythology the Jackal]] while her second two are Hyena and Fennec Fox. Her monsters also tend to be some sort of Big Badass Wolf.
Attack Reflector - OOO and her Taja Spinner; it absorbs the power of any attack that hits it, and redirects the power into a new fireball, using flames and the original power at once. It remains to be seen if 000's can use his Spinner for the same effect.
Attempted Rape - One of Sakura/ Dekabreak's former teammates attempts to assault her but Jasmine and Bridge come in to save her in the nick of time. Happens again when Marcel fights and defeats McKenzie, who was his girlfriend when he was human. He attempts to rape her before killing her, but Mezool helped her out in time.
Badass Biker - Most of the Kamen Rider's have bikes, as you might expect.
Badass Family - The Miyazaki family, whether or not you include friends of the family.
Badass Normal - Kyle Cross, no powers, no weapons past pistols and he still goes up against Dopants and Angels.
Kaisu, untransformed, steal's Jack Frost/Eternal's Driver, gets the Faiz Gear, almost meets a choke hold hand on (James intercepts) drop kicks him and even stops the Eternal Edge.
Nakida and Kyle were a subversion of sorts since Kyle didn't know that he was fighting alongside Nakida (As she was Kamen Rider Rose during the fights).
Becoming the Mask - The real Ren who works for Rescue Force was copied by a Worm who eventually believed that he was the real Ren and forgot that he was a Worm. Jack Moon also counts; he forgot that he was a Jamanga and completely assumed his guise...until he got into space.
Big Bad - Right now it seems to be in contest between Jack Moon of the Jamanga and Sir Peter Mantis and his Hellfire Club and whose apocalypse is bigger and more successful. Though Mantis has had more preparation time, Jack Moon has a good shot at conquest for someone who just spent months in space.
Also, Azrael the angel of death is shaping up to be a damn good one ...
Bread, Eggs, Milk, Squick - Smart Brain Headquarter's description (Though it technically doesn't exist any more): The main offices of Smart Brain, where the corporation deal with Shipping, Manufacturing, Lawsuits and the evil plan to overthrow humanity and replace them with the hyper-evolved Orphnoch race.
Canon Foreigner - There's a mix of completely original characters (Kamen Rider Avon, Kamen Rider Forever, Fallen Rangers), canon characters (Kamen Rider Decade and Kamen Rider Joker), canon characters with original forms (Hoji was "DekaSky" in this world) or original characters whose transformed forms are canonical (Susan Cross as Kamen Rider Drake, William Mercer as Kamen Rider Scissors)
Combo Platter Powers: A literal and highly expanded case: OOO and 000 are able to choose their own combos by switching out the Core Medals as desired/required.
The Medal names in italics are their Japanese names used in the series; yes, some are directly English. These are also the pure forms as used by OOO and 000.
Corrupt Church - Double Subverted, Saint Andrews The Redeemer is working with demons but they're doing so to save the world from Angels which are being lead by the regional Bishop.
Deal with the Devil - Marcel Labat made one so that he could get a replacement driver. And after extending his deal, it came time to quickly pay up and lose his soul, resulting in the demon becoming Marcel/Kamen Rider Arms.
Discard and Draw - Marcel, losing Sabre and quickly gaining Arms.
Jack loses Orga and then gets Eternal, then loses Eternal and is offered Fangire powers.
Doppel Ganger - Ren/Kamen Rider Avon and Arthur/Kamen Rider Sonnet meeting...Ren/R1 during a battle. Avon being the copy, making the late appearing original Ren into a true Expy of the original character.
Blow You Away - Kazari; he has some kind of vortex attack. 000 has JagAnsOu, or specifically, the Jaga Medal.
Dishing Out Dirt - Gamel; his Core Medals, specifically the Elephant Medal, reflect this. SaGoZo gives OOO the power to control the ground to pull her opponent in for the Finishing Move. 000 and UGoSu can also use these abilities.
Light 'Em Up - The Lion Medal is able to blind enemies.
Make Me Wanna Shout - The Orca Medal can emit and receive sonic waves, as can 000's Dolphin Medal.
Making a Splash - Mezool; she can shoot water from her hands. The Electric Eel Medal can shoot water from its hands. ShaUTa is able to change into a liquid state. 000 has IruKurAken.
Playing with Fire - Ankh; his Core Medal's Combo form, TaJaDor, also reflects this. RaToraTah can emit scorching heat. The Taja Spinner is able shoot fireballs. 000 has WaYabUri.
Shock and Awe - Uva; he can shoot green light. The Stag Beetle Medal can generate lightning from its horns. The Electric Eel Medal equips OOO with two electric whips. 000 can use his corrupted version of Gatakiriba, KabuKashiBa to do the same. His Jellyfish Medal also creates whips.
Also Shotaro he's got the Heat, Luna and Cyclone memories to give him an elemental kick when fighting. Jack's stolen a couple of these and has a few other elemental memories of his own.
Ren Nakamura is an Expy of the player's main character on his own RPG forum, as is Yuki Arai.
Alternatively, Marcel Labat/Kamen Rider Sabre/Arms is being expied over to that forum soon to replace Ren.
Kyle Cross is an Expy of sorts of Kenneth Walker Cross and Sakura Ryuzaki of the Hathaway Foundation on the same site.
Nakida Sassu and Kaisu Sanryu of yet a third player; all from the same site.
Waylon Ciers is an Expy of Keisuke Nago in most of his personality and clothing, just a change in the fact that he's a Fangire and his race, being British instead of Japanese.
Sanyu Miyazaki is an one of multiple characters of the same name, from a majority of different R Ps.
Eye Scream - Chinomanako's finishing move involves stabbing a hypodermic into someone's eyeball. This then infects them with a virus that causes Black Eyes, Tears of Blood and then your eyes to explode.
The Chick - Alice Dreider, but mostly because she doesn't have her own Rider powers and depends on picking up others. As a Rider, she fills in any of the other positions.
Flat Earth Atheist - Kenneth Frost, has personally met and fought demonically powered characters a couple of times now but keeps denying that demons are real. Granted he has a Hell of a Freudian Excuse for opposing religion.
Fun with Acronyms - Kamen Rider PROSE stands for Proto-Sonnet Engine.
Gender Bender - Happens to Sanyu due to some freak magical accident caused by his sister. Needless to say, he was not amused.
Hannibal Lecture - Donovan attempts one of these on Hoji while he's interrogating Sakura but it fails.
Hellfire - The primary weapon of the Fallen Rangers and Ghost Rider. Kenneth (Psyga) notes that despite wearing flameproof armour Hellfire really stings.
Hellhound - Kamen Rider Barghest takes his name and appearance from the monster of the same name.
Oddly enough, Ren Nakamura (Avon), is on a Rescue Force RPG with almost the same characterisation and played by the same person IRL. Except his celebrity claim on that forum is - Yuichi Nakamura
Honor Before Reason - Thomas going to fight during Apocalypse London to protect the people of his home despite it being a very foolish move to go alone and not tell his superior/comrades about it. He paid for it.
Horsemen of the Apocalypse - Azrael created the Four Riders of the Apocalypse after his white ranger plan didn't work out.
Also, Mantis created four more powerful undead that each work as a horseman.
I Am A Humanitarian - Amazon, mostly only ate monsters but after becoming Famine she starts eating the other white meat as well.
Innocent Fanservice Girl - Amazon is "barely clothed in what could be called a fur bikini". Granted she's only innocent in the context of not being aware of her fanservice providing wardrobe.
Karmic Death - Thomas caused Marcel to be possessed by a demon by destroying his Sabre Driver, but died saving civilians - the last being Marcel's girlfriend. Had she not been there, he wouldn't have been distracted by her words and mortally wounded. To top it off, he gave her his OOO Driver which was used to destroy Marcel's Driver in the first place.
The Man Behind the Man - Vector to SHOCKER among others, but primarily SHOCKER, and Foundation X to many organizations, in one way or another, whether they know or not.
Name's the Same - Simon in Section and Simon/Kamen Rider Variable. Likewise, Sakura of the Hathaway Foundation and Sakura/DekaBreak of the SCU.
Nerf - Tsukasa Kadoya (the canon one played by Sanyu) got hit with this hard since taking an AR Tsukasa's belt. Because Decade Fury can't change into other Riders, it puts him at a severe disadvantage.
Power Trio - Clive Edinburgh/ Kamen Rider Judgment is possessed by an angel and the devil himself. Michael the angel is the Superego, Satan serves as the id and Clive himself is the ego.
Really Gets Around - Non-sexual version; the PROSE powers of the Hathaway Foundation, bouncing between members.
Recruit Teenagers with Attitude - The Fallen Rangers are this trope played rather darkly. They were recruited because the Fallen Angel their mentor made a pact with demanded teenagers to his and his comrade's mortal hosts.
Running Gag - Sanyu always referring to Scott Allen as Ryan Reynolds in any out of character topics. Bridge references it by confusing Scott for Ryan.
Scarf of Asskicking - Suzie wears a red scarf while unmorphed and Ren wears a blue one. Rider 1, 2 and V3 all wear scarfs after transforming, as does [1] in his CycloneJoker form. Retsu occasionally wears one as well after arriving on Earth.
Set Bonus - OOO's Combos, using three Core Medals of the same Greeed/color/category, give OOO power equal to a Greeed. In addition, they provide extra powers that individual Medals don't have in Random Combos.
Shapeshifter Baggage - Averted with The Imin, (a race of creatures unique to the RP), they have to absorb another Imin or a human into their body to get enough mass to shapeshift.
Fake Ren and his coworkers (though to be fair, one could still happen, as both Rens have mutual feelings for at least one of them). Fake Ren has also had a few moments with Suzie.
Marcel kissed Suzie twice. First was out of joy, second he already had a girlfriend, but was about to have a Fate Worse than Death, so he tried to show that something was wrong without saying it. He tries again in the House of Hercules non-canon continuity game.
Kevin Williams and Suzie, though this one looks like it could go somewhere.
Fake Ren has been attracted to Sakura of the Hathaway Foundation since meeting her. She would probably rather see that affection sunk, however. As of late, it seems to be coming together.
Penny and Alan among the Fallen Rangers, they were together once a while back before they became Rangers and it didn't work out but you can only nearly die together so many times before the Unresolved Sexual Tension starts to kick back in.
Jasmine and Sakura seem to have a lot of Les Yay going on.
Stuffed into the Fridge - Clive's cousin Elizabeth was killed by a future Den-O to make him a better hero. It didn't work instead sending him into depressive mourning, to the point of allowing Azrael to kill him and giving him an Evil split personality.
Superpowered Evil Side - Robin has the ability to become Gwylligi where his soul is entirely taken over by the Barghest. Similarly, Ren can sometimes fall to his Orphnoch side and Kamen Rider Sonnet has an evil form called Iago. McKenzie has the OOOverdrive forms.
Super Team - The Wild Space Corporation wants to have all the Kamen Riders united into one group. Likewise, Kiriha as Rider 1 wants all Riders to serve with him in a Rider Army, as he doesn't like Wild Space Corporation's approach.
AkaRed tells Captain Marvelous to carry on his legacy before he goes and pulls a Heroic Sacrifice, leaving Marvelous as the new AkaRed.
The Talk - A subversion and an inversion. When Suzie asks if Karazu had given it to Sanyu, since she's the elder of the two siblings, Karazu tells her that Sanyu gave her the talk instead. Suzie isn't surprised.
Technology Marches On - SHOCKER starts with basic cyborgs, such as Centipede, the Hoppers and the SHOCKER Riders, but begins to develop hybrids later on, starting with Missile Rhino, which can only lead to the inevitable...
Knife Nut - Alan/ Fallen Red uses the Tainted Blades as his weapons but he appears to prefer Hellfire. On the other hand, Jacob A. Tioran is definetly one.
Word Of God - Some of the IC Forum games reveal some interesting insights and unimportant facts about characters as well as the occasional bit of Foreshadowing.
You Are Too Late - Averted when Zack burst into the scene after Ren's transformation into an Orphenoch.
Artistic License - Biology - Drones. You can't have something with only one DNA base! Handwaved because Kyle says that it "... should be impossible".
Zombie Apocalypse - Apocalypse London is more of an "Undead in general" apocalypse including zombies, vampires, werewolves etc.
