A Song of Ice and Fire

Avatar: The Last Airbender

  • In the Legend of Korra fanfic Book 5: Legends we have several, most notably Princess Koko, who is a thinly veiled Twilight Sparkle from Friendship is Magic. Dresses in purple, insists on being called a princess, and has a great love of reading. Also, Miko more or less jumped over from Transformers: Prime, both in appearance and personality, though the latter changes slightly after The Reveal. The Author states in his notes he imagines them voiced by the same voice actresses as well. Temuji also bears some similarities with Kaworu Nagisa from Evangelion, particularly in appearance but also somewhat in mannerisms (at first).

Backyard Sports

Bleach

Bolt

  • The Bolt Chronicles:
    • Berlioz in “The Paris Trip” is unambiguously based on his namesake in The Aristocats. A black cat who can play piano, he lampshades this by saying it’s a naming tradition in his family going back several generations.
    • Petey in “The Survivor” is clearly based on his namesake in The Little Rascals film shorts. He's a brown and white American pit bull terrier with a ring around the left eye. Except when Jack threatens Mittens or his master Darnell, he's very personable and friendly.
    • The five unnamed dogs — a male pit bull, schnauzer, chihuahua, and husky, plus a female beagle — who save Bolt in "The Wind" by bringing him to a nearby animal hospital are all obviously based on the main characters from Dogs of C-Kennel. Among other things, the husky has an unrequited crush on the beagle, and the group had all escaped by digging a tunnel out of their kennel home.
    • Soapy in “The Clouds” is clearly based on the homeless bum of the same name from “The Cop and the Anthem,” an O. Henry Short Story. Like his namesake, the character unsuccessfully tries to get himself arrested so he can spend the winter in a warm jail cell.
    • "The Service Dog" features a couple examples:
      • Ulgine Barrows, the woman who has set up a dubious program allowing sighted people to experience what blind people go through during the course of the day is named after and modeled on the antagonist in the James Thurber short story "The Catbird Seat." She exhibits that character’s aggressive and obnoxious manner as well as her braying laugh.
      • The private investigator who helps Penny find the woman whose dog bit Bolt is modeled after the title character Adrian Monk from Monk. He is described as being extremely adept at his job despite having numerous unusual phobias and utilizing a Tai Chi inspired style of examining evidence. He is also a widower, at one time married to a woman named Trudy. Bolt misremembers his name as "Adrian Chipmunk" for some reason.

Calvin and Hobbes

Chrono Cross

Crossovers

  • Ace Combat: The Equestrian War has the foreign pegasi aces being potrayed similarly to their originals from video games.
  • In Children of Time, Kit Bennett, alias Kathy Watson, is clearly an expy of River Song. The parallels aren't in full, but dang if they don't go far, with everything about Kit in her introductory episode echoing many elements of River throughout her tenure on Doctor Who.
  • Code Prime: Mao can be considered one for Silas in the story: a human who attempts to get into Megatron's graces with his ability, only to get taken in as a science experiment when their attempts fail.
    • Kallen's mother, Akari, can also strongly be considered one for June Darby. Like June, Akari is a single mother whose husband left at some point, her daughter is not only involved in the Cybertronian War but also has Arcee has an Autobot partner, and she also works as a nurse.
  • Event Horizon: Storm of Magic features Westeros and Middle Earth being invaded by a MegaCorp from 22nd century Earth that's more or less an Expy of both Weyland-Yutani, and of the historical British East India Company (but IN SPAAACE!).
  • Being a Fusion Fic of Chrono Cross and Digimon Tamers (and overlaps with Transplanted Character Fic), the characters in Fellowship are expies of almost all the characters in Digimon Tamers with some changes.
    • The exception is Guile, who plays only a little of Renamon's role. His character is initially an Expy of Whitebeard and Son Gohan, but turns out to be more similar to Vash.
  • Honoka's Bizarre Adventure is a Fusion Fic between Love Live! and Jojos Bizarre Adventure. As such, a few of the Love Live characters become expies to Jojo characters, particularly to Diamond is Unbreakable.
    • Kotori is one for Josuke, being a Heroic Bastard who is also the teams Combat Medic and a child of a Jojos Bizarre Adventure character from a previous part.
    • Nozomi’s background makes her one to Iggy. Both of them were once criminals who used their Stands to create their own gangs (Iggy in New York and Nozomi in Egypt) before their defeat by Avdol. It's downplayed, as while Iggy remains a Jerk with a Heart of Gold after his debut in Part 3, Nozomi's training under Avdol and her late grandfather's guidance lead her to become the Team Mom she is in the present-day.
    • Yoshikawa Fuhai has quite a few similarities to Angelo from Part 4. They're both psychotic Stand wielding criminals who threaten the main character and their family as well as motivate them into becoming a hero, they've both murdered one of their own parents in the past (Angelo killed his dad in the live action movie, while Fuhai killed his mom for her inherentance money), and both of them are ultimately dealt a Fate Worse than Death upon their defeats, though Fuhai's was unintentional and unknown on Honoka's part, and is played more seriously compared to Angelo's darkly humorous fate.
    • Fumiko Nikaido, Honoka’s classmate, is ultimately one for Shingechi, a Colony Stand user that’s friends with the protagonists and is killed by Kira, but not before sending a clue to aid the heroes in finding him.
  • Dr. Beesano from Hottie 3: The Best Fan Fic in the World in an expy of Dr. Insano from Atop the Fourth Wall.
  • Infinity Train: Blossoming Trail: Lexi, a book who can uses his pages to become a humanoid, has an appearance based off of Specter. In-universe this is because this "Specter" was made from a 'Create-a-crush' app on Chloe's phone and she used it as a basis for Lexi's human form.
  • Jaune Arc, Lord of Hunger:
    • The Mask of Darth Nihilus in this fic shares more than a few similarities with SCP-035 from the SCP Foundation mythos. Both are Evil Masks who influence the minds of anyone in proximity to them. Both are also skilled manipulators, have existed for thousands of years, are White Masks of Doom, and ultimately destroy the bodies of their hosts due to a Possession Burnout.
    • Darth Nihilus shares many similarities with Karness Muur, the main antagonist of the Star Wars: Vector comic storyline from the Legends continuity. Both are immensely powerful Sith Lords who used to be Jedi, bound their spirits to a Sith artifact after their deaths, seek to return by possessing a host, and spent thousands of years marooned on a deserted planet.
    • The Temple of Shadows is one for the Jedi Order. Like the Jedi, they were originally a religious order of monks who trained in combat, used their skills to protect the weak, and fought against the Dark Side. Both even have their leaders given the same rank of "Grand Master".
    • Petros Krizoz is basically what would happen if you took Tyrian Callows and put him in charge of a cult. Like Tyrian, Petros is a religiously fanatic assassin who worships the Big Bad as a god, and gleefully kills innocent people in his master's name.
  • In Justice League of Equestria: Gods and Monsters the MLP cast takes the roles of certain DC characters, however a few characters have special aspects taken from other incarnations:
    • The "Dollmakers"; Trickster(Button's Mom) and the Toymaker(Button Mash) both hold aspects of the Arrowverse versions and the versions from Superman: The Animated Series. Both of them being a parent and child team like in the Arrowverse, while they share the same backstory with the animated version where they lose and father/husband to a criminal.
    • A giant purple monster floats through space, it's method of talking is simple yet grand, it devours planets whole, and seeks new ones to constantly feed it. Now was what I described Galactus or Starro The Conqueror? Ironically enough among one of Galactus's many assumed forms that certain planets see him as one of them DOES see him as Starro itself.
  • Khaos Omega has devised numerous girl versions of known Let's Players, usually to increase the Rainbow Angels' ranks.
  • Kid Icarus Uprising 2: Hades Revenge has Pandora, Cloud2, and Cloud Strafe collectively become expies of the Team Rocket Trio.
  • The Kamen Rider/Metroid crossover fic Metroid: Kamen Rider Generations also has numerous of them, among are which from the previous Metroid series installments up to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
  • My Huntsman Academia: When one or more members of Team MNVW needs to be pitted against another team in a spar, they'll often end up against characters who are blatantly based on characters from other works, such as Caitlyn and Vi from League of Legends or Lloyd, Presea, Genis, and Zelos from Tales of Symphonia.
    • Mitsu Bachi, Izuku's second sparring opponent, is a clear reference to The Pain from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, between his ability to manipulate bees and hornets and shoot bullet bees from his mouth.
  • New Vegas Showtime:
  • Pokémon Crossing: Several characters in the series are based on characters from other series. Apollo is based on Jotaro, both being trenchcoat-wearing muscular leads in the story who are swarmed by annoying fangirls. Holly is one to the Joestars in general, being a hot-blooded fighter with a star birthmark on the shoulder and having a poor relationship with their father. Julian is based on Earl Dorian Red Gloria, both being possessive thieves with long curly hair.
  • SAPR: Due to the author's love of fairy tales and their tropes many characters from canon RWBY who are based off a fairy tale counterpart and don't have much canon information about them will find much of their backstory and characterization filled in with characteristics from the character they were initially based off. The most prominent example of this is Cinder, who has an abusive stepmother and stepsisters as part of her Freudian Excuse. and In addition, any time the author needs an OC for an arc they'll often take fairy tale characters that haven't been used in canon and put them through the same process.
  • She's a Hero, a crossover between Worm and Heroman, decided to double homage Heroman's creator. Not only is Stan the Man featured there, but there's also King Marvel, a clear expy of Captain America, with a red and white costume, a heater shield bearing the American Flag, and a clear dislike of Nazis.
  • Suzumiya Haruhi no Yaku-Asobi is full of these. One particularly sprawling multi-RPer slider faction known as the Multiverse Enforcement Bureau employs what is practically an alternate SOS-dan, consisting of a long-haired half-American Trigger-Happy Haruhi who's a stickler for keeping things orderly, Kyonko, the person Kimidori Emiri was 'based on' by the aliens (a Cute Clumsy Girl), the Student Council President from Seitenkan, a Cold Sniper Mikuru, and a Men in Black-ish Sasaki. No, really.

Danganronpa

Discworld

  • The works of A.A. Pessimal does this a lot. Michael Moorcock's Elric has been played for laughs, for instance. The central characters of Tom Sharpe's Piemberg farces have crossed to the Disc - most notoriously the insane and demented secret policeman Verkramp. And there have even been a Hobbit or two...

Homestuck

  • The fancomic Be the Sea Dweller Lowblood has troll versions of the B1 kids (including bro, though not really a "kid"), Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff characters, the Midnight Crew, and Deadpool. They're all renamed to fit the six-letter troll name limit and to just sound more trollish. For example, Rose Lalonde becomes Rhosyn Lalond, Sweet Bro becomes Suweet Broski, etc.

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure

  • Unbreakable Diamond, Protean Rain: Yasuho Onodera, one of Fubuki Kurosawa's classmates, draws many similarities to Yasuho Hirose from JoJolion, the 8th part of the series. While she has her own personality, she notably has pink hair, and there are many nods to JoJolion tied to her as well. She even ends up becoming a love interest for Josuke Higashikata in the story.

Kung Fu Panda

  • In A Different Lesson, the Wu Sisters start out as this of Ozai's Angels, with Xiu standing in for Azula, Chun as Mai, and Jia as Ty Lee. They aren't exact copies, but the author does have a fair amount of fun with this, and they drop a lot of familiar lines. They also end up growing and developing as characters in their own right.
  • The fic The Vow has Lady Lianne, a swan noble who's based on Princess Odette, both in (the swan) appearance and personality. There's also a minor character named Lang, a trader duck who's similar to Master Shifu's messenger goose Zeng, both in the awkward personality and role.

Miraculous Ladybug

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic

  • Chatyoance's work has Blackmesh Security, a pretty obvious expy of Blackwater USA.
  • Curse of the Demon Pony has Boris, who is basically a ponified, fantastically racist Gaston with some Victor Quartermaine and Biff Tannen thrown in. The author even uses some of the same lines from each of their movies for his dialogue!
    • His minions Boxco and Dum Dum are exactly like LeFou (Gaston's henchman) and Biff's gang, with a little Snips and Snails thrown in.
  • Duel Nature features occasional scenes with Horatio Mane, complete with the expected Quip to Black style of dialogue.
  • In Equestria: A History Revealed, in an In-Universe example, the Griffon nation has the uncanny trait of ripping off its more popular Equestrian counterparts, notably when it comes to its books, companies, or even ponies themselves, with their dubious (yet admittedly, probably non-existent) answer to Shining Armor, Shining Amour.
  • Escape from the Moon: Played with: The voice Doa has been hearing claims Doa is one for itself - the banished pony, imprisoned for a thousand years. Doa is not completely convinced.
  • The Flash Sentry Chronicles: Springer the Jakhowl is one to Riolu. His Battle form is one to Lucario, and Shade the Trickster is one for Zorua and Zoroark.
  • Most of the characters in My Brave Pony: Starfleet Magic are expies. Made most obvious in one of the author's YouTube videos explaining his characters, clearly showing that they are recolors of the original show's cast!
    • The Grand Ruler and Lightning Dawn are male versions of Celestia and Twilight Sparkle, while Starla Shine is based on Rarity. Lightning's Enticorn form is said to be a combination of a Super Saiyan and an Anodite.
    • Krysta is named after the main character of Ferngully and appearance-wise is pretty much Fluttershy with her mane and coat color swapped, and in human form.
    • Dyno and Myte are based on Mas Y Menos from Teen Titans.
    • Rhymey, Abra Kadabra and Goldwin are based on Muffy Mouse, Waldo the Magnificent and Jeff Hyslop from Today's Special.
    • Titan is inspired by Wiseman and No-Heart.
    • In My Brave Pony: Star Fleet Magic III, Raven, Twilight's assassin, is named and based off the Teen Titans character.
  • My Choices: Twisted Tales Through Time: Each of the G1 ponies, in a reversal of how the main characters are ultimately based on the ones from the G1 show, serves as these to Twilight's friends. She does notice some differences though, such as Surprise being slightly more levelheaded than Pinkie Pie, Posey being more likely to stutter than run in fear of another pony, and Firefly being more disciplined than Rainbow Dash. Sparkler, on the other hand, is almost a perfect match of Rarity, while Applejack is much younger, clumsier and more excitable than her future counterpart.

Odd Squad

  • OSMU: Fanfiction Friction lampshades this trope by having Todd asks who out of the Mobile Unit is the "wacky Scientist". In canon, Oswald is the one who takes up the role, despite not being a wacky Scientist and instead being more like Oscar in personality than in job title.

One Piece

Persona

Pokémon

  • Pokémon Reset Bloodlines has some for other Pokemon characters who cannot fill roles they'd usually do. The Original Character Felgrand fills in the role of Giovanni as the one hiding down in the game corner's secret lair, while in one of the spinoff oneshots much of the story of canon anime Ash is filled by the character Casey Snagem, who has several Pokemon whom expy his Pokemon, such as Clefairy, Magmortar, Purugly, Chesnaught, and Liligant for Pikachu, Charizard, Gliscor, Greninja, and Snivy respectively.
  • In the fic Traveler, by the time of the Pokemon League, Ash has taken on more than a few of Red's traits, preferring solitude in nature with his team to being around people, as well as becoming more silent and stoic, and a much calmer, more collected battler. Gary lampshades this in conversation after the League, claiming that without his friends making him socialize, Ash would probably disappear into the wild. Jonathan later mentions having his final showdown with Ash atop Mt. Silver, saying it seems like Ash's type of place.

Rango

Ranma ½

  • The Elsewhere Fic Boy Scouts ½ follows mostly a cast of original characters, although some of them are obvious expies of characters from the original work.
    • The Porter sisters are expies of the Tendo Sisters, with Sarah being the tsundere love interest of the main character (like Akane), Kirstin being the cooking and cleaning caregiver (like Kasumi), and finally Nicole being the money lover with questionable principles (like Nabiki). This is lampshaded with the first names of Kirstin and Nicole starting with the same letters as those they are expies of.
    • Despite being based on a real person, as a large chunk of the Boy Scouts ½ cast is, the character of Derek Provost is also an expy of Happosai.
    • Taylor Kuntz shares his initials with Kuno Tatewaki and is basically what you would get if you took away Kuno's pretension of class.
    • And oddly, in a case not based on Ranma ½, the character of Justy Yung is an expy of Jinnai Katsuhiko from El-Hazard. This was even lampshaded in Universe when some of the other characters were watching that show and thought Jinnai seemed familiar.

Reborn! (2004)

RWBY

Sengoku Basara

Sonic the Hedgehog

  • Sonic X: Dark Chaos has a very large number of them, and Word of God has confirmed that many of the non-canon characters were based on others in at least some form.
    • Dark Tails is an expy of Dark Samus. Also, the Quadraxis robot is basically the same as the boss from the same game, except massively upgraded and far more powerful (and vicious). Dark Chaos Energy is also a pretty clear expy of Phazon.
    • Along with his obvious parallels to Shadow, Tsali is essentially a more-humanlike Terminator. In a similar vein, the armies of flesh-eating Tsali Androids he once controlled are rather suspiciously similar to Necron Flayed Ones.
    • According to the author, Venus the Seedrian is a gender-flipped version of Guts from Berserk, with several parallels in their back stories.
    • Tephiroth is the most blatantly obvious one, except his character and personality are entirely different. And he's not evil.
    • Even the ships are expies according to Word of God — the Dreadnought is based on the Machariel from EVE Online, and Maledict's Leviathan-class ships are based on the Eclipse Super Star Destroyer.

Star Trek Online

  • "Aen'rhien Vailiuri" has the merchant freighter Axiana, which the author's notes say was based on Serenity from Firefly. Battered old heavily modified freighter with a Ragtag Bunch of Misfits crew, including a not-so-bright Token Evil Teammate.
  • Captain Kanril Eleya of the Star Trek Online fanfic continuity Bait and Switch is actually intended as an inversion of a Picard expy, according to the author. Despite the fact that, like him, she commands a Galaxy-class starship, she's a 29-30-year-old woman instead of a man in his sixties, openly religious instead of atheist, Hot-Blooded and battle-ready instead of calm and diplomatic to a fault, blue-collar Prior Enlisted instead of aristocratic career officer, Book Dumb instead of intellectual... the list goes on. She has more in common with FemShep than an archetypical Starfleet captain.
  • Reality Is Fluid: The author's note states that Professor Atani Dukat of the Cardassian Science Ministry was partially based on Emperor Turhan of the Centauri Republic from the Babylon 5 episode "The Coming of Shadows". Both are members of an enemy culture who are trying to atone for their peoples' past crimes by apologizing to representatives of those they harmed (Kanril Eleya, a Bajoran captain in Starfleet, in Dukat's case, Ambassador G'Kar of the Narn in Turhan's). The comparison is only partial, however, as Dukat's attempt turns out much better.

Star Wars

  • Star Wars: Galactic Folklore and Mythology: Most stories are based fairly directly on real-life myth, and a number of characters can be traced to famous legendary figures:
    • Big Bloqo, a giant who created various landforms through odd accidents and daily habits and who created a huge version of his planet's ox-like beasts of burden to match his size, strongly resembles Paul Bunyan.
    • A Brodo Asogian folktale claims that aurorabirds can take off their feathery cloaks to reveal their true shapes as beautiful maidens, and that hunters can contrive to claim them as brides if they somehow get the cloak out of the picture — very reminiscent of the tale of The Swan Maiden.
    • Chaya, a kindly spirit who saved the early Toydarians from a divine cataclysm by giving them wings and who was harshly punished by the gods as a result, brings Prometheus to mind.
    • Nana Jebhanye, a Rodian witch who flies around Rodia on a magical spoon stealing unhatched eggs to eat, is based on Baba Yaga and her flying mortal and pestle.

Super Mario Bros.

  • Clash of the Elements: Appearance-wise, Save for the metallic arms, Alpha is one to Ultimateverse Nick Fury, which surprisingly doesn't look ridiculous despite the fact that he is a Goomba
  • Because of the Whole-Plot Reference to Super Paper Mario, the villains of The End of Ends are expies to the villains of that game.
    • Count Logan has Count Bleck’s hat and backstory albeit less impactful and despairing as Bleck’s. He also shares Slade’s mask, though chromed.
    • His three minions are expies of Bleck’s own minions and named after some of the goons from Where In Time Is Carmen Sandiego. Kamica and Madeva are ones to Starfire and Raven respectively.
    • Dr. Beljar is one of Dimentio. Knowing this, Beljar backstabbing Logan was pretty obvious.

Teen Titans (2003)

The Mysterious Cities of Gold

The Smurfs

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012)

Total Drama

  • A Codette World Tour: Ted, the Tiger is one of both Pura and Ed.
  • The Doctor Will See You Now: The character of #409 appears to have been inspired by the G-Man from the Half-Life series. Though his look differs from the sinister interdimensional bureaucrat, his overall demeanor and manner of speaking is quite similar. To the point where much of his word choice comes from dialogue lifted from the games.
  • Monster Chronicles: Cedric von Túfeice is based on Dr. Facilier from The Princess and the Frog. Both Cedric and Facilier made a deal with a loa for power, and both of them wore suits and hats. The difference is while Facilier is looking to take all the souls in New Orleans, he is a Con Man looking to get rich, while Cedric is a Serial Killer looking to end the world.
  • Random Drama Series: Angel, the Innocent Idealist, is confirmed by Word of God to be based on the DC Comics Starfire.
  • Total Drama: Brains VS Brawns
  • Total Drama Comeback Series: Joel might seem kind of familiar… In fact most of the original characters are expies. Alfred, Sakaki, Daisy, Sandra...
  • Total Drama Do Over
    • Abigail is based off Mabel from Gravity Falls, with her perky attitude and her bright pink sweater.
    • The orange-clad Southerner Felicity is one of Applejack. Lampshaded in Celebrity Manhunt 2 when she turns into Applejack and returns back to Equestria.
  • Total Drama Genesis
    • Word of God states Diamonique appearance started out as being based of Leshawna’s cousin. Her ditzy nature and fashion evokes the idea of Lindsay.
    • Frannie bares many resemblances to a character from the author's previous work named Julie who is herself based on the canon character of Izzy, making Frannie the Expy of an Expy.
    • Word of God confirms Ignacio’s role as Mr. Fanservice was based on Justin and Alejandro and the discussion of the character before he arrived was to imply he'd be like two characters. Subverted, as Ignacio as a quite the opposite personality than the usual Mr. Fanservice.
    • Lita has reminded some readers of Leshawna, given her confident and tough personality and both being from the streets. Word of God confirms the allusion was intentional, along with taking cues from Sailor Jupiter, who in the dub was named Lita.
    • Pascal’s based of Pappa Rappa. No, really.
    • Many readers have noticed similarities between Zipporah and the Goths in Ridonculous Race. Word of God states Zipporah was thought of before RR aired however.
  • Total Drama Isle: Erika, The Disc Jockey is based on Vinyl Scratch. Erika actually has a voice, however.
  • Total Drama Legacy's Nero is an expy of Kooky von Koopa. He's a Mad Scientist and Overlord Jr. who is very good with machines, has Einstein Hair (with Nero's even being a dark bluish-black, invoking Kooky von Koopa's blue hair), and is prone to Evil Laughter. He even describes himself as a "kooky inventor" in one scene.
  • Total Drama Letterz
    • Hector Candle: The Intellect is based on Total Drama Noah.
    • Kasimar McSkeen: The Complete Monster is based on Total Drama Duncan.
    • Patch Johnson: the Burger King is based on Total Drama Owen.
    • Tabitha Barrington: The Manipulator is based on Total Drama Heather.
    • Xaria Clark: The Complainer is based on Total Drama Gwen.
    • Yessica Bubbler: The Born Swimmer is based on Total Drama Bridgette.
    • Alice Gatobel: The Type A is based on Total Drama Courtney.
    • Of Derby Harrington from Bully.
    • Eddie Lynmoire, the Detective is based on Columbo.
    • Eddie in TDL3, as the Level-Headed Guy seems to be based on Richy. Design-wise, he's practically a palette-swap of Hans, by the same author.
    • Fripp Skip, the Blockhead is based on the title character of the Blockhead series by The Swain.
    • Helen Grey, the Anti Fun Girl is based on Nitt Notts from the Imagination Movers TV show.
    • Paul Foster, the Germaphobe is based on Total Drama Cameron.
    • Quarla Grim, the Aggressive Girl is based on Total Drama Jo.
    • Rheneas Scorch, the Rebellious Pyromaniac Word of God states he was inspired by Jimmy Hopkins and Travis Touchdown from Bully''.
    • Yannis Kumatora, the Mute Guy is based on Total Drama B.
  • Total Drama Nightmare At Pahkitew Island
    • Gray - The Nutcase is based on Total Drama Izzy.
    • Oregon - The Adventurer is based on Indiana Jones.
  • Total Drama Refresh
    • The author states Beatrice is based on Zoey from Total Drama.
    • Ezmyralda is based on Ezekiel from Total Drama, if only in looks.
  • Total Drama Reloaded: Tamera Jenipher Oshunrind, The Beatmaker is based on Of hip hop producer Wondagurl.
  • Total Drama Revolution
  • Total Drama School Scuffle: Ellis Cooke - the Compulsive Liar is based on Staci from Revenge of the Island, though he gets better later on.
  • Total Drama Stranded
    • Keith shares a lot of similarities with Lil' Gideon.
    • Pedro is similar to another character of the author called Crisco who was in the eleventh season of Survivor: Fan Characters.
    • Shannon, like Justin from canon, thinks she can use her looks to get members of the opposite gender to do what she wants.
  • Total Drama: Superstar Showdown
    • Devin - The Jive Turkey is based on Total Drama World Tour-era Ezekiel, albeit with far less intelligible speech patterns.
    • Ori - The Gemini is based on Devin from Total Drama this time, with some added temper outbursts, which is especially strange with Devin himself in the same story.
    • Estrella was inspired by Jade West from Victorious and Raven from Teen Titans.
    • Puck and Wolfgang were based around and named after two NPCs from Animal Crossing, although their personalities are much more fleshed out.
  • Total Drama Switcheroo
    • Collin is basted on Cody from Total Drama.
    • Gene certainly has a lot of similarities with Keith from Total Drama Stranded, written by the same author.
  • Total Drama Tokyo
    • Horatio - The Jazz Cat is inspired by Horatio Sanz's character in the Catalina Wine Mixer scene of Step Brothers.
    • Julian - The Rocker musical skills and his crush on a goth girl who has no interest in him are reminiscent of a combination of Trent and Cody.
    • Layla - The Rich Snob bossiness, treatment of Isabel, and eventual win are very similar to Heather from the canon Total Drama series.
    • Neal - The Smartass is based on Neal from Freaks and Geeks.
    • Roz - The Maniac is based on Izzy from Total Drama, who happens to be her cousin. Some of her traits, particularly her dynamic with Mr. Chapman, were also inspired by a friend of the author's.
    • Thomas - The Extremely Tall Guy is based on one of the author's friends. However, when he was turned into more of a jerkish character, the similarities (other than the appearance and height) disappeared.
    • Vivienne - The Mysterious Romantic is based on Vivian from Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door, the author's favorite character from his favorite video game.
  • Total Drama Tweenabet
    • Flynn Fletcher: The Advertiser is based on Yellow Face from Battle for Dream Island. He even has a picture of Yellow Face on his shirt.
    • Otis Skullzy: The Skullduggery is based on Duncan from Total Drama.
    • Veedle Mannerhein: The Strong Slapping Machine is based on Needle from Battle for Dream Island.
  • Total Drama Tween Tour
    • Cuthbert Jasperbatt, The Oran is based on Oran from Survivor: Fan Characters. His stereotype comes from a very disliked character from that series.
    • Elvira Umcliffe, The Umbridge is basically a teenage version ofDolores Umbridge who is just as hateful as the original one but harmless.
    • Megan Paranor, the ''Paranormal Enthusiast, is partly inspired by Dib but only more unstable and eventually becomes crazy.
  • Total Shuffled Island Series: Dawn's father, Cryptologia Sweetlily, is based on Luna Lovegood's father, but with a more hippie-like appearance.
  • Total Sibling Rivalry: Ron, the prison warden, is based on Ron the Rent-a-cop from 6teen.
  • Total Zeksmit Series
    • Kathy Ikaname
      • Hm, a pale-skinned girl with (semi in her case) lengthy dark hair, with a suit, a giant weapon, sharp teeth, and a generally mischevious atittude? And large breasts? Sounds like a mash of Fan's two portrayals of Rip, that also draws heavily from her canon design.
      • She's also something of a very bizarre cross between Gwen and Izzy. Justin lampshades this before her debut by saying that either of those two might like her. Gwen still hasn't met her, but seeing as Izzy's first official interaction was her breaking into the confessional and probably slugging her over her shoulders, that part might have been wrong.
