A former Captain of the Guard of the now-dead civilisation of Scorpius, Antares became the unwitting subject of Verelinne rosa Tiberius' experimentations, culminating in the near-destruction of Antares' existence. With the help of the few friends he has, Antares has begun to remember who he is, and seeks to atone for his wrongdoings, provided he's able to escape his present circumstances.
- A Father to His Men: Shown to be this in the present, implied to be this in the past.
- The Atoner: He has a lot of blood on his hands. Though unwittingly in most cases, he aims to repent.
- Brutal Honesty: Though he has learned some degree of withholding truths.
- Comically Missing the Point: Played for Laughs and exploited. He takes quite a lot literally.
- Declaration of Protection: To Alhena during their time as prisoners.
- Determinator: Refuses to die, if it means leaving Alhena behind.
- Deus ex Machina: The control cluster Tiberius uses to control him is this.

- Distressed Dude: Not as much as Alhena, but was a prisoner in another way.
- Eating Optional: Does not need to ingest food, but does require water to function. This has come into discussion on a rather somber note.

- Meaningful Name: The designation he was given was that of the most revered individual in the Scorpii Aristocracy. This is more of a taunt, however. Also applies to his real name Antares, after a star in the Scorpio constellation.

- Ridiculously Human Robot: Justified. When you consider what happened to him...
- Screw the Rules, I'm Doing What's Right!: What he believed killing Nootau was, as opposed to taking him alive to the Nightmare King for who knows what horrors.
- Shirtless Scene: Any time Tiberius is doing repairs or updates. It's not treated as particularly pleasant.
- Steampunk: Literally lives for this trope.
- Suicide Mission: Was almost sent on one of these, until Alhena pulled some strings to get him out of there.
- Techno Babble: Carma uses him as an outlet for her tech-geekness.
- That Man Is Dead: Feels this way about himself in some regards. He considers himself to be Antares, but a new, reborn Antares.

Played by Gengar. Face claim: Morty (Pokemon).
He makes Dementors look drab.
- A Hero to His Hometown: In all honesty his race thinks of him as a brave noble out in Man's world trying to make it more welcoming to their kind.
- An Ice Person: Tobias can freeze things, and his former wife embodied this trope even more
- Beware the Nice Ones: Yes he is amiable and friendly, but that doesn’t make him any less a threat.
- Cold Flames: Iced flames that are colder than most prefer.
- Comfort Food: Emotion eating vampires all have their favorites. He prefers the savory taste of trepidation and sadness. They taste like peanut brittle and savory herbed meatballs receptively.
- Emotion Eater: I mean his breed of vampires do feed on emotions.
- Emotion Control: Weaving heart strings can lead to some unfortunate instance of playing with feelings.
- Fallen Hero: Once a person who protected humans, but now thinks they have too much power.
- Friendly Enemy: He doesn't necessarily hate Guardians, heck he even has a few as friends, Leora as example 1.
- Friendly Neighborhood Vampire: He isn't a sadist or even too much of a jerk face. He believes in being polite and nice to people initially.

Ninianne Tamesis
- Elemental Eye Colors: Blue eyed with water magic. With a little bit of Icy Blue Eyes for the piercing quality when using her power to see leadership virtues/vices.
- It's All My Fault: In general she's pretty prone to feeling guilty about failing in her responsibilities someone or stop an injustice that she witnessed.
- Not being there when Nimue woke and subsequently joined the Court of Shadows. Justified in that her choices did play a role in it, but the blame is not exclusively on her.
- Happened in "Faces of the Past" as she blamed herself for not stopping Caerwyn's unfair punishment and death. Resolved in this case thanks to Caer's You Did Everything You Could speech.
Leora

- Wide-Eyed Idealist: Being ever the optimist, (and this being also what gave her the centre of 'Faith'), Leora is ever the naive hopeful girl even in the most darkest of situations.
- Beware the Nice Ones: Although she may be incredibly patient, there is a heated temper to match when pushed to the edge. Also, she is not so merciful in battle as one may think when innocents are in danger.
- Cute Clumsy Girl: Ditsy in her moves, an actual problem. It's a miracle she hasn't died yet. She has taken some pretty nasty spills. Often followed by an I'm Okay!.
- Light 'em Up: Her powers, and her physique in general.
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Genuine kindness and incredibly blonde hair. Although it's more an off-white.
- Really 700 Years Old: Well, more like 300. Although her mindset is still pretty young, she can still have moments of wisdom to spare.
- Virtue Is Weakness: She's incredibly gullible, due to her easy trusting. Which can land her in some sticky situations.
- Virgin in a White Dress: Although not always in white, this trope is incredibly relevant.
- Everyone's Baby Sister: Although she is 300 years 'grown', she still finds herself needed to be guided by those wiser than her.
- No Sense of Personal Space: Leora loves physical affection, and even in her most excitable moments, she finds herself popping every personal space bubble in existence.

- Bodyguard Crush: Plenty of Ship Tease to go around, particularly during threads while both were captives.
- My God, What Have I Done?: Had a moment of this when Tiberius revealed that he just planted a bomb in Antares' stomach.
- Red Oni, Blue Oni: The blue to Paigen and Nootau's red. Inversely, the Red to Caspian and Antares' Blue.
- Rescue Romance: Played with. The rescuer was Adrian, but he wound up giving his life in the process. Enter Antares, who takes care of Alhena during the recovery phase. A new realization comes to fruition.
- Servile Snarker: Not to everyone, just the people he clashes with.
- Stepford Smiler: Extreme variation on Type 1. We're working on that.
Caspian Asellus
- Animal Motif: Crab.
- Childhood Friends: With Nootau Leo. We're not sure if that still stands.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Right along with the rest of the starkids.
- Put on a Bus: Hopefully soon to be rescued.

Jack Kelly
- Big Brother Instinct: Formerly with the newsies, currently with Matty.
- Idiot Hero: Was specifically called this in-thread by Matty. He lives up to it.
- Meaningful Name: His middle name, Abner, means "my father is a light" which pretty much sums up Aurora.
- The fact that middle names in general are not often used also reflects Jack's refusal to acknowledge Aurora as a father figure.
- Oblivious Adoption: A Celestial raised by humans, but he found out a few years after they died.
- Happily Adopted: He considers the people who raised him to be his real family no matter what.
Megaera
- Broken Bird: Narrowly averted. Doesn't stop the metaphor from prevailing.
- Brutally Honest: Can be downright cruel with her words.
- The Spock: The logical one among her sisters.
- The Stoic: Rarely, if ever, smiles.
Nootau Leo
- Break His Heart to Save Him: Played with. This was the intent behind Nootau leaving - and not just towards Caerwyn, but everyone - but ultimately this was what damaged him the most.
- Childhood Friends: With Caspian. He wants to keep it that way.
- Face–Heel Turn: Averted. Dark!Noot doesn't gain full control, and Nootau does everything in his power to avoid the Court of Shadow's side.

William Rowlands

Carter Delano

A half-youkai, Carter's birth was anything but pleasant; his mother, turned into an ubume, gave up her son to some schmuck who happened to be around. It's been understandably difficult, as Edward doesn't know about his half-youkai nature, and Carter's abilities are hard to handle. They've moved from Japan to settle in Burgess, Pennsylvania and...hope that things will be quieter and calmer. Yeah, like that will ever happen.
- Awesome, but Impractical: A half-youkai with the ability to shift pain between himself and his target. It sounds cool, but when you're trying to be a normal kid it makes things difficult.
- Blessed with Suck: How he viewed his powers, particularly when he couldn't control them.
- Bus Full of Innocents: Was one of said innocents. Fortunately, he was rescued.
- Doubles for Distressed Dude.
- Child of Two Worlds: Human and Youkai.
- Dark and Troubled Past: Surprisingly so, for one so young.
- Happily Adopted: Seems to be the case, even if it's difficult at times.
- Half-Breed Discrimination: Seems to be the case. Half-Youkai are rare and, apparently, a delicacy to full Youkai.
- I Just Want to Be Normal: Feels this way, it would make life a lot easier.
- Shower of Angst: Shown once, when dealing with the aftermath of the kidnapping.
Edward Delano
Played by Carma. Face Claim: Kotetsu T. Kaburagi (Tiger & Bunny)
Meet dad. He's as normal as they get.
Edward is just an average man. He has a slightly Dark and Troubled Past, dealing with a family split that drove his father to drink, and that ultimately drove him to peace out and do everything in his power not to be that man. His studies in science brought him to Japan, where he wound up with a Doorstop Baby and, being the Nice Guy, took him in. But, becaue his son is Blessed with Suck, it's been anything but easy. Now they've settled in Burgess, Pennsylvania, in the hopes of having a normal life. Ha ha. Ha.
- Boring, but Practical: Everything about him.
- Deadpan Snarker: When the world around you is full of magic and you're a normal guy, this is somewhat justified.
- Funny Foreigner: Averted. Though he was often treated as such, much to his annoyance.
- Give Him a Normal Life: Wants this for Carter.
- I Am Not My Father: Really, really doesn't want to be his father.
- Insane Troll Logic: One of his biggest pet peeves is this.
- Nice Guy: If a bit gruff.
- Ridiculously Average Guy: And how.
- The Smart Guy: Could be this; he's a biology whiz, after all.
- The Team Normal: Completely human, no magic.
- Token White: While in Japan, he was this to a degree.

Matthias Bountayne
- Comic Relief: Intended to be this on his inception. He didn't stay that way.
- Justified Criminal: He and the other kids steal to survive.
- The Load: Sometimes feels like this and thus tries harder not to be.
- Mouthy Kid: Surprisingly so, for one who can't speak.
- The Nicknamer: Has a name for almost anyone. They're not very nice.
- Street Smart: Has to be; he did grow up in that kind of environment and all.
- The Voiceless: From birth. He hates it.
Samuel Lombardozzi
- Big Brother Instinct: Especially to Shea, but just in general with kids.
- Plucky Comic Relief: Unintentionally so. It's just funny to watch him flounder in a world that isn't his.
- Reasonable Authority Figure: Actually takes a lot of issues seriously, even if they're hard to believe.
- Unfazed Everyman: He's just an ordinary guy living an ordinary life, or trying to, but he doesn't let tales of Wendigos get to him. Yet.
Verelinne
Verelinne rosa Tiberius
She's attractive, but don't let her near you..
A criminal from the Scorpii constellation, Verelinne found the dying Captain of the Guard Antares, stuck his brain inside a robotic body, and used the leftover organic matter to fuel her ship and escape the destruction. She now works with Pitch Black and is the Court of Shadow's resident Mad Scientist.
- Dominatrix: Seems to have this personality, particularly around the enemy.
- Evilutionary Biologist: She believes that machines are the ultimate life form and, naturally, has no sympathy for her biological compatriots.
- Gadgeteer Genius: She made Antares' robot body.
- Insult of Endearment: Calls biological entities "meatbags".
- Muggle Born of Mages: Unlike other Scorpii, she cannot manipulate the element of water at all.
- One-Winged Angel: Ultimately what she hopes to achieve on earth. It might be in the works...
- Squick: A lot of what she does invokes this trope.
