     Main Protagonists

Three sixth graders at Southwest Pondovadia Middle School. Their friendship is mostly because they live in the same floor on the same apartment complex together.Tropes that fit the trio as a whole:

  • Chromatic Arrangement: Bell's orange/blue, Ponce's yellow/purple, and Toshi's red/green.
  • Freudian Trio: Ponce is emotional and goes by his instincts, Toshi is somewhat aloof and goes by logic, and Bell (being the leader) is somewhere in the middle.
  • Masculine, Feminine, Androgyne Trio: Ponce is the Masculine, Bell the feminine, and Toshi the Androgyne (is a feminine looking guy who's been mistaken for a girl a few times in-universe.)
  • Meaningful Name: All three characters' names relate to their environment (the titular pond):
    • Isabell Woodrow (she's a modern-day Southern Belle and beavers chew wood)
    • Poncio (a Spanish name meaning coming from the sea)
    • Toshiyuki (a Japanese name meaning genius and happiness) and Ikeda (rice paddy through the lake)
  • Periphery Demographic: In-universe. 89 Days, a JJBA expy, is implied to be targeted for adults yet the three middle school protagonists are huge fans of the series.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: Bell and Ponce are the Red to their Toshi's Blue.
  • Token Trio: Bell is (presumably white)West Virginian, Ponce is Latino-American, and Toshi is Asian-American.
  • Two Guys and a Girl: Technically. Played with in that Bell's the leader of their trio and usually comes up with the ideas.

Isabell 'Bell' Woodrow

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bell_5.png

An extroverted beaver who's currently living in the city of Pondovadia with her older half sister Klarisse.

  • Berserk Button: Speciesism against chimeras. This is justified since one of her best friends is a chimera.
  • Color-Coded Characters: The blue/orange one of her group.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Chapter twelve puts a lot of focus on her.
  • Fiery Redhead: Energetic, someone you don't mess with when pissed off, and has orange hair.
  • Heroic Bastard: She's the mayor's illegitimate daughter from an extramarital affair, yet is a ray of sunshine who's willing to help her fellow animals.
  • Oblivious to Love: She has NO idea that Tabitha is romantically interested in her.
  • One of the Boys: Is the only girl on the hockey team, her two best friends are both guys and she usually finds more guys with similar interests. Downplayed since she doesn't completely eschew femininity and doesn't mind if other girls invite her to their outings.
  • Orange/Blue Contrast: Her primary color scheme (blue fur, orange hair/outfit).
  • Passionate Sports Girl: Part of the defense on the school hockey team, and she's very hotheaded about hockey.
  • Parental Abandonment: Her parents dumped her on her sister after years of a toxic marriage. Being the child of an affair doesn't help either
  • Periphery Demographic: In-universe. Bell, a middle schooler, is a fan of the hard rock band Blyned Jagwar, noted as the target demographic being college students.
  • Practically Different Generations: She's a sixth grader while her older sister Klarisse is a senior in college. This is because of her mom having an affair with the current mayor.
  • Plucky Girl: A more tomboyish variant, but still plucky.
  • Quirky Girl, Quirky Tux: She wears a brightly colored suit to the school dance.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Pink highlights in her hair and generally a nice kid unless pushed too far.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: And fucking how! Much of the cast swears here and there, but she swears more than anyone else combined.
  • Stock American Phrases: A Southerner who says y'all a lot.
  • Stock Shōnen Hero: A gender-inverted version. She's extroverted, wears a lot of orange, usually accomplishes her goals thanks to teamwork and having many friends, can put up a good fight, and is the most impulsive one of the trio.
  • The Un Favourite: Implied to be Vincent’s least favorite child. Justified since she's not even Vincent's child in the first place. Luckily, Joseph and her get along when they meet.
  • Tomboyish Ponytail: Her hair is tied in a high ponytail and she's an energetic tomboy.
  • Tomboy with a Girly Streak: She's into hard rock, hockey, cursing, and usually hangs out with the guys, but also wears pink, has a huge bow in her hair, and doesn't mind hanging out with other girls if invited.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Peanut flavored anything and matcha energy drinks. She's also fond of Thai food.
  • Youthful Freckles: Has several freckles on her face.

Poncio 'Ponce' Ramirez

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ponce2.png

One of Bell's best friends, is the multitalented one of the trio. He usually enables Bell's shenanigans.

  • A Day in the Limelight: Chapter thirteen follows him and his dynamic with his family, namely his mother who works in one of the hospitals.
  • Anime Hair: His hair appears to be based on a certain shonen protagonist.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Dark purple hair and one dark purple eye.
  • Cute Little Fangs: He has a small fang on the left side of his mouth.
  • Good Parents: Both Carlos and Marcela are these to him (put in time to care for him).
  • Duality Motif: One dark grey and one purple eye. Justified since most chimeras have heterochromia due to their mixed genetics.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: Justified as Spanish is his mom's first language.
  • Heinz Hybrid: He's part-dog, part-otter, part-bat, part-hog, and half turtle.
  • Jack of All Trades: Ponce fits this to a T. He's intellectual enough to speak several languages fluently, he's good at medical science, is capable at physical fighting, good at playing darts, and completely aware of chimeras and their treatment in society.
  • Jock Dad, Nerd Son: Inverted. Carlos' main job is a professional translator, while Ponce is more interested in athletic endeavors in comparison.
  • The Medic: Implied trait. He's knowledgeable in medical experience, justified since his mom's a nurse so he picked up knowledge from her.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Being a chimera, he's this by default.
  • Parental Sexuality Squick: Gets embarrassed when his parents flirt in front of him.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Is the Manly (athletic monochromatic outfit, physically strong, into sporty endeavors) to Toshi's sensitive (elegant pastels, lithe physique, into pastels and pretty aesthetics)
  • Sleeves Are for Wimps: Is the 'manly' one in the trio and doesn't have sleeves.
  • Yellow/Purple Contrast: Yellow fur and purple eyes/highlights/hair.

Toshiyuki 'Toshi' Ikeda

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/unknown_822.png

Bell's other best friend, the elegant yet snarky one of the trio.

  • A Day in the Limelight: Chapter eight is about him babysitting his little siblings.
  • Asian Rudeness: Downplayed. Toshi is East Asian and the most snarky/sarcastic, but he's only a snarker with his friends.
  • Asian and Nerdy: Downplayed. He's Japanese-American and into anime and manga, however, he sucks at math and usually hangs out with two more athletic characters instead.
  • Cool Big Sis: Gender-inverted version. His adopted siblings idolize him.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Most snarky and sarcastic of the trio.
  • Dude Looks Like a Lady: Is mistaken for a girl in one chapter. His little siblings call the kid out.
  • Happily Adopted: Lives with his adopted dad and four adopted siblings, has a great life with them.
  • In Touch with His Feminine Side: His hair is long enough to tie into a ponytail, he wears pastels, a long scarf and a tunic, has a pastel color backpack, and likes cute things in general.
  • Meaningful Name: Toshiyuki means 'genius and happiness', he's generally a happy character when hanging out with his friends. His last name, Ikeda, means 'rice paddy through the lake', fitting the water motifs in Pondovadia.
  • Otaku: Downplayed. Toshi is into manga. However, he has a social life outside of it.
  • Red/Green Contrast: Pinkish-red fur, green outfit and hair.
  • Scarf of Asskicking: He's wearing a scarf and quite capable in fighting. Heck, he uses it as a makeshift rope in chapter eight to save his siblings.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Is the Sensitive to Ponce's Manly. Downplayed in that Toshi is more snarky and aloof while Ponce has a warmer personality and more eager to approach new animals.

     Aesthetic Club

A group of girls in the sixth grade who run the aesthetic club. They're allies to the main trio when not involved in their own business.

Tropes that fit the group as a whole:
  • Color-Coded Characters: Tabitha (yellow/green), Leila (pink/purple), Violet (purple/blue), Keira (white/black/pastel), and Sandyna (cream yellow/pink/blue).
  • Five-Token Band: Tabitha is a half-British, half-Thai cat who may or may not be gay, Violet is a white American butterfly who's definitely gay, Keira is a Japanese-American chubby rhino, Leila is an African-America dolphin, and Sandyna is a Latina-American shiba inu who may or may not have ADHD.

Tabitha Gingentle

Another classmate of the trio, she's a domestic cat and makes her debut in chapter three.

Violet Harlacher

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/butterfly_0.png
"Nobody touches my Tabitha and lives!"

A butterfly, and one of Tabitha's close friends, makes her debut in chapter three.

  • Ambiguously Gay: Implied to be madly in love with Tabitha, and is jealous when Bell gets her attention instead. She shows no attraction to the male cast members.
  • Book Dumb: Downplayed characteristic. Leila mentions she failed a math test to her chagrin.
  • Deadpan Snarker: She snarks a lot during the field trip chapters.
  • The Lancer: She's this for the aesthetic club. She's more snarky and wears shorts instead of a skirt or dress. She's also an insect instead of a mammal.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: She gets her last name from Erika Harlacher (who plays Violet Evergarden in Violet Evergarden)
  • Noodle People: She's this in comparison to most characters.
  • Odd Name Out: Her name is the only one in the aesthetic club to not end with 'a'.
  • Pretty Butterflies: She's a butterfly, and pretty cute.
  • Spare Body Parts: Where most animals have two arms, insects like Violet have four arms.

Hopelessly romantic, ma'am!

A purple dolphin and one of Tabitha's friends, also makes her debut in chapter three.

Keira Takeuchi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/keira_3.png
Can I help you?

A white rhinoceros who's part of the aesthetic club

  • The Big Girl: She's the largest in her group and doesn't talk that much compared to the rest of the group, but is more intellectual in her talents (a fanfiction writer).
  • Big Beautiful Woman: She's stocky compared to most characters, and is still as adorable as they are!
  • Fat and Skinny: She's the fat to the rest of the club's skinny.
  • Girlish Pigtails: Has the pigtails, part of a fashion club.
  • Hidden Depths: Writes fanfiction under the alias 'madam-takeuchi' and is good at planning raids.
  • Perky Goth: A pastel goth fashion wise, but the most down to earth of the quint.
  • Proper Tights with a Skirt: Wears thick black tights under her puffy skirt.

Sandyna Sanchez

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/sandyna.png
Heyyyy!~

A loudmouthed shiba inu with no filter whatsoever.

  • Aerith and Bob: Sandyna is a pretty unusual name compared to most of the cast.
  • Distaff Counterpart: To Aster. They're both neurodivergent puppies who are very talkative with their respective groups.
  • Girly Girl with a Tomboy Streak: Sandyna is pretty girly, but she also sometimes hangs out with guys and gets into pranking with Thomas and Kevin.
  • Genki Girl: The biggest one of the whole cast.
  • The Heart: Is the one that keeps the group together.
  • Irony: She's very hyperactive but her fashion sense is based on vaporwave, a music genre based around slowed down music.
  • Motor Mouth: Speaks as fast as she possibly can.
  • Precious Puppy: She's a shiba inu puppy and is drawn just as cute as the rest of the cast.

     Southwest Pondovadia Sixth Graders

The pastels can't hide her past...

  • Abusive Parents: Has the most abusive parents in the cast so far.
  • Brother–Sister Incest: This is what her parents are.
  • Demoted to Extra: After being the star of the first chapter, she completely fades into the background. Her arc gets no resolution, and we never see her engaging with the main trio in a meaningful way again.
  • The Ingenue: She's twelve and knows a lot less about the outside world than most characters.
  • Meaningful Name: Minthe is Greek for mint, fitting her appearance. Pinnegedan is a pun on pinniped (seal family) and armageddon.
  • Mermaid in a Wheelchair: To attend school, she uses a wheelchair to make up for her lack of legs.
  • Nonstandard Character Design: The only character so far to not have any legs.
  • Posthumous Sibling: Exaggerated. She has thirteen of them.
  • Princess Classic: Describes herself as a princess, due to the heavy brainwashing her parents implemented in her. Deconstructed as she's heavily sheltered from being cut off from the world.
  • Princesses Prefer Pink: Her hair is pink and so is her dress. Although she's not actually a princess
  • Royal Inbreeding: Her parents did this on purpose. Heavily deconstructed as her thirteen siblings all died and she's sheltered and doesn't have any legs unlike the rest of the cast.
  • Replacement Sibling: She's number fourteen and hopefully the final one. Unless...
  • Sweet Seal: An adorable-looking seal. Well, except for her backstory.
  • Youngest Child Wins: Is the youngest of fourteen, but is the only alive sibling and gets to escape her hellish 'kingdom'.

Christopher 'Chris' Rothschild

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chris_58.png
Parkour time!

One of Bell and Ponce's friends from school, is a porcupine. Makes his debut in Chapter Two.

  • Ambiguously Bi: Clearly stated to be dating Joan (for three weeks) but his actions with Aster imply something more than Heterosexual Life-Partners.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Chapter four is about him and Aster going on their own adventure.
  • Differing Priorities Breakup: Joan just wanted a quick summer fling, where Chris wanted a serious relationship.
  • Dirty Kid: Compared to the rest of the cast. He writes a lesbian cheerleader paper and gets excited over a painting of a naked lady.
  • Freudian Excuse: It's heavily implied he's more perverted than the rest of the cast because he was molested by a teacher, and this is a coping method.
  • Hipster: He dresses like one yet is more 'jock' personality wise.
  • Punny Name: Rothschild is a subspecies of porcupine
  • Nice Guy: One of the easy-going characters, and nice enough to hang out with anybody else.
  • Odd Friendship: An extroverted and impulsive porcupine with a dirty mind whose friends with a nerdy photography expert puppy.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Extroverted jock to Aster the introverted photographer.
  • Unexpected Virgin: Inverted. He's the same age as the main characters but is heavily implied to already had have sex. One of these incidents however was NOT consentual.

Chris's ex-girlfriend, is part-panther, part-falcon, and all punk. Also makes her debut in Chapter Two.

Aster Borealis

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/aster_7.png

Chris's close friend, a young photographer and another chimera (downplayed since he's only half fox, one quarter Pyrenees, and one quarter Pomeranian, making him a canine in general), also debuts in chapter two.

  • Aerith and Bob: Aster is an unusual name compared to the rest of the cast.
  • Camera Fiend: Aster is one of these. Justified since photography is his special interest.
  • Clashing Cousins: He's this with his first cousin Carnegie. Aster is implied to have loving parents, while Carnegie says his parents divorced because of him.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Pink curly hair and pink eyes.
  • Heterosexual Life-Partners: He's this with Chris.
  • Hollywood Autism: Averted. While Aster has many autistic traits (hates loud noises and eye contact, has sensory issues i.e. prefers grilled food and hates plain boiled food, is easily overwhelmed, literal minded, and a special interest in photography) he's good at making new friends if Chris knows them.
  • Literal-Minded: He doesn't get slang/metaphors like third wheel or fourth base.
  • Keet: He's one of these when talking about photography.
  • Motor Mouth: Mention anything photography related and he becomes this!
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: Is technically a chimera due to his mixed heritage (his first cousin Carnegie is stated to be a fox), but is more ambiguous on his heritage compared to most chimeras in the series.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Has pinkish-red hair and is a nice kid.
  • Sensitive Guy and Manly Man: Is the sensitive guy to Chris's manly man.
  • Stellar Name: Aster comes from the Greek name for star, and Borealis references the Aurora Borealis.

  • Geek: He collects comic books and enamel pins.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: Justified since this is his first language, and he is from Arizona after all.
  • Named After Somebody Famous: He's named after John Tobias (one of the Mortal Kombat creators).
  • Poisonous Person: Well, poisonous animal. He can sting other animals if he wants to, but only in danger. It's not that strong however since he is just a child.
  • Scary Scorpions: Subverted, he's a fairly calm animal.
  • Spare Body Parts: Four arms and six eyes!

Maya Mesora

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/maya_302.png
Don't fuck me over..

A poodle moth who runs Meteor by the Minute (the school paper), and a "total jerk" to everyone. Until chapter eleven.

  • Ambiguously Jewish: Her last name Mesora is a term for critical notes made on manuscripts of the Hebrew scriptures, she's brutally honest and she uses Yiddish slang like "putzing" and some Word, Schmord!.
  • Brainy Brunette: Dark brown hair and supposedly good at journalism.

  • Hated by All: Nobody in the school really likes her. Justified since she's rude and condescending to everyone, even the other animals working in the school paper.
  • Immoral Journalist: A child version of this. She's twelve but she already runs the school newspaper and only uses it to trash talk other animals. Eventually she gets forced to reboot it.
  • Moth Menace: She's a moth, and is one of the ruder animals at Southwest Pondovadia Middle School. Until chapter eleven where she gets chewed out by Bell and her group.

Jamie Valhallen

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/calf.png

A Texas longhorn and the only other animal working on Meteor by the Minute.

Robby Neruda

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mongoose.png

One of Bell's hockey teammates, he's an energetic mongoose, and the older of the Neruda twins (by five minutes). He's the most stereotypically 'Southern' of the main cast.

  • Country Mouse: Well, country mongoose. He gets excited over a trip to the farm, says y'all, dresses the cowboy part.
  • Dumb Blonde: More reckless than dumb. He breaks his leg in a feat to impress a girl.

  • Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Has light blond hair, sees the good in most animals.
  • Half-Identical Twins: Both he and Beatrice have wavy blond hair, brown eyes, and cream fur. The difference is Robby dresses more traditionally Southern where Beatrice dresses similar to the 'mythicals' of Pondovadia.
  • Keet: Nothing drags him down, not even a broken leg or a mean sister!
  • Meaningful Name: The twins' last name comes from Pablo Neruda, who had a pet mongoose.
  • Overalls and Gingham: He's from West Virginia like the rest of the cast, and dresses in overalls with gingham print accents.
  • Parental Favoritism: Implied to be his parents' favorite child, since Beatrice notes that she didn't want to go on the field trip yet when Robby asked if both could go, they said yes.
  • Signature Headgear: He wears a distinct brown cowboy hat.
  • Slobs Versus Snobs: The slob (speaks more with a Southern twang, way more casual with everyone else) to his sister's snob.

Beatrice Neruda

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mongoose_2.png
"I don't care."

The younger Neruda twin (by five minutes) and Robby's polar opposite.

  • Age-Inappropriate Dress: In chapter twenty two, she wears a revealing dress that's better suited for a nightclub.
  • Age-Stereotypical Food: She's twelve but tries too hard to be an adult. This is reflected in her food choices (most twelve year olds don't drink black coffee, only eat vegan or prefer expensive food).
  • Boomerang Bigot: It's implied through part two that she's a commoner who's a mythical supremacist.
  • City Mouse: She's one of these, noted by her complaining about going to a farm and wanting to go to more "sophisticated" places like wine factories or art museums.
  • Hate Sink: The most recurring one in the cast. She's speciesist against chimeras, doesn't like anybody else in her grade due to her perceived maturity, makes a fat joke at Keira's expense, asked Aster out as a joke. Where do we start?!
  • Hypocrite: She calls other kids her age immature yet is whiny and pessimistic.
  • Jerkass: The biggest one so far in the cast. She looks down on everyone else in her grade.
  • Politically Incorrect Villain: A child version. She looks down on other kids her age who are illegitimate and is openly speciesist against chimeras.
  • Slobs Versus Snobs: The snob to her twin brother's slob.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Black coffee. This fits her bitter personality and trying too hard to act more like an adult.
  • Vegetarian Carnivore: Lampshaded. Mongooses in real life are carnivorous yet she's vegan.

Jennifer Hinden

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/donkey_5.png

One of Bell's old acquaintances from back in Oakland, she's a mild mannered donkey.

  • All of the Other Reindeer: The other kids in Oakland made fun of her for not being a rodent like them.
  • Country Mouse: Well, country donkey. She's from rural West Virginia.
  • Farmer's Daughter: A child version of this. Her family is involved in an apple farm and she's quite adorable!
  • Meaningful Name: Jenny is the term for a female donkey, where Hinden comes from Hinny (child of a male donkey and female horse).
  • Stubborn Mule: She's very insistent on calling Bell out for her past treatment.
  • Tomboy and Girly Girl: For Oakland characters, she's the girly girl to Bell's tomboy.

    Adults

Klarisse Woodrow

Bell's aloof yet caring older sister, she's a creative writing student at Monongahela University.
  • The Alcoholic: She's shown drinking a lot. It's genetic.
  • Aloof Big Brother: Gender-inverted example. She's usually busy with college so she comes off as cold, but she obviously cares for Bell in her own way.
  • Brainy Brunette: Dark brown hair and intellectual enough to teach a fanfiction analysis class.
  • Expy: Her sardonic behavior, color scheme for clothes, introversion and having one close friend suggests she's based off Daria
  • Exhausted Eye Bags: Part of her design choice.
  • Dude Magnet: Unintentionally. Several male characters, earlier in the series, point out her attractiveness.
  • Most Writers Are Writers: Klarisse is an aspiring writer who's majoring in creative writing.

Joseph Canadendrum

The current mayor of Pondovadia, he’s a North American beaver and delightfully eccentric.
  • Arranged Marriage: He and his wife Parla are this due to both being the same species. They're both miserable in it but are implied to stay together for their sons.
  • Big Good: Despite the many bastard kids he sired, he’s still this to the city.
  • Good Is Not Soft: He may be a goodhearted mayor, but has no problem threatening stubborn mythicals to be competent.
  • Large Ham: The biggest one of the adults, giving extravagant speeches when called to meetings.
  • Meaningful Name: His last name comes from canadensis, part of the scientific name for his species.
  • Quirky Curls: Wavy orange and pink hair, and a fun loving extroverted mayor.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He's the fun outgoing extrovert to his calm introvert assistant Jonesy.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: He always wears a nice suit.
  • Sympathetic Adulterer: Has multiple children from outside of his marriage. This is because he and his wife hate each other, but married only because they were the same species.
  • Walking Spoiler: He's Bell's biological father.
  • Wine Is Classy: He tries to invoke this in chapter eighteen, to Jonesy's dismay.

    Mythicals

Principal Portland Manteau

The principal of the private school Allegory Academy, he's a jackalope.
  • Dean Bitterman: A private school principal and a mythical supremacist.
  • Fantastic Racism: Like most mythicals, he thinks of himself as better than the common species.
  • Hair-Raising Hare: He's a jackalope and a cold blooded sociopath.
  • Jerkass: Selfish enough to let his students die over school funding.
  • Punny Name: His name references the term portmanteau, what a jackalope technically is.

Emilia Daenerys Aries

The first 'mythical' the main trio meet for themselves.
  • Delinquent: She's an Allegory Academy student and is already causing trouble for common species.
  • Karma Houdini: So far, she hasn't been punished for her murder in chapter seventeen.

  • Our Dragons Are Different: She's a dragon, and based on the archetypal Western dragon.
  • Playing with Fire: She can summon small balls of fire to fight. Fittingly enough, Aries is a fire sign.

  • Starter Villain: Emilia is the first of several mythicals the group have to deal with.
  • Troubling Unchildlike Behavior: A twelve year old girl who smokes and has no problem with murder.

Frederick P. Morrigan

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bear_32.png

A black bear who attends Allegory Academy, and Toshi's penpal.

  • Bully Magnet: Most of the other Allegory students constantly bully and humiliate him for being a common species in a mythical school.
  • Foil: Bell and Frederick are these to each other. Both are animals found natively in West Virginia and have fathers involved in local government. However, Bell is a colorful energetic extroverted Heroic Bastard with multiple friends who goes to public school, while Frederick is introverted, aloof, down to earth kid with only one friend and goes to private school.
  • Missing Mom: His mom died in chapter sixteen, in a flood that ravaged Pondovadia. However it is suggested that it was something/someone else that killed her.
  • Mysterious Middle Initial: What DOES the P stand for?
  • Only Friend: Rory is Frederick's only friend in Allegory. Justified since they're roommates.
  • School Uniforms are the New Black: Wears his school uniform a lot.
  • Stoic Spectacles: He wears glasses and is more down to earth compared to the more outgoing Bell and company.
  • The Stool Pigeon: In chapter twenty two he does this to Emilia and her friends after they attempt to kill a classmate by blowing smoke
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: He wears glasses and is an intellectual who writes elaborate letters for a twelve year old.

Francis Pastello

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/francis_2.png

Belinda 'Becky' Henwalsh (Verdante)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/becky_84.png
