Voiced By: Gabrielle Nevaeh Green

The main character of the series, and the daughter of a werewolf and a human. Fascinated by monsters all her life, she's naturally excited to be able to go to Monster High.

  • Action Girl: Her werewolf abilities give her increased athletic prowess, perfect whenever she needs to fight someone.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: In previous generations, she was fierce and sassy; here, she's more meek and nerdy, as well as a bit of a Naïve Newcomer to the monster world.
  • Adaptation Species Change: From a full werewolf to a werewolf-human hybrid.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: She was shunned by other humans due to her interest in monsters.
  • Bespectacled Cutie: She has a large pair of glasses and is quite cute.
  • Femme Fatalons: Her nails turn into sharp claws in her werewolf form.
  • Hairy Girl: Naturally, she's got fur all over her body in werewolf form.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Her dad is human, while her mom is a werewolf.
  • Missing Mom: Her mother has been missing for ten years, and the first season's Myth Arc centers around figuring out what happened to her and then rescuing her from Beheme.
  • Naïve Newcomer: Downplayed, but having been raised in the human world, she has to have some monster things explained to her by the others.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: Even before discovering she was a monster, Clawdeen had a love of all things creepy and spooky.
  • The Nose Knows: She's got an enhanced sense of smell as part of her werewolf powers.
  • Purple Is Powerful: She mostly wears purple and she's a powerful werewolf.
  • Race Lift: She's gone from being implicitly fully black to being Afro-Latina.
  • Spider-Sense: She has "werewolf instincts" that warn her about danger, manifesting as a voice only she can hear.
  • Supernatural Gold Eyes: She's got gold eyes and is a werewolf.
  • Unusual Ears: In werewolf form, she has wolf ears on top of her head.

    Draculaura
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/draculaura2022headshot.png

Voiced By: Courtney Lin

The daughter of Dracula, she's studious and a perfectionist, a direct result of her father being a leader in the monster world. However, she harbors a secret: she practices witchcraft, which could get her expelled from Monster High if she were outed.

  • The Ace: She's head fearleader and at the top of her class in school.
  • Adaptational Curves: She's noticeably chubbier here than she was previously.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: In previous generations, she was bubbly and carefree; here, she's more studious and down-to-earth.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Her previous incarnations had black hair with pink streaks; here, it's half-and-half pink and black. Additionally, her lavender eyes are now pink and her pink heart-shaped beauty mark is now black.
  • Adaptation Species Change: Downplayed; in previous generations she was a human girl who was turned into vampire, but here she's all but stated to have been a vampire her entire life.
  • Asian and Nerdy: Downplayed; she's Taiwanese on her mother's side and at the top of her class.
  • Been There, Shaped History: In "The Haunted Sandcastle Caper", she implies she was responsible for Amelia Earhart's disappearance.
  • Childhood Friends:
    • With Twyla, as the two have known each other since grave school.
    • She's also this with Heath, as they spent a lot of time together at Dracula's resort when they were kids.
  • Color-Coded Wizardry: Her magic is consistently shown to be pink-colored.
  • Cute Little Fangs: Naturally, being a vampire.
  • Cute Witch: She practices witchcraft and is quite adorable.
  • Daddy's Girl: She's incredibly close with her father, though her relationship with him is a little strained due to her secretly practicing witchcraft, which he disapproves of.
  • Elegant Gothic Lolita: Her default outfit matches this aesthetic.
  • Goth Girls Know Magic: She's an Elegant Gothic Lolita who practices witchcraft.
  • Nice Girl: She's incredibly nice to other monsters, even if they act awful towards her (not wanting to use a potion on Toralei in a way that could hurt her, for example).
  • Older Than They Look: She looks like a teenager, but she's over a thousand years old.
  • The Perfectionist: She displays this trait on occasion; whether it be schoolwork or witchcraft, she always tries to do it perfectly and be the perfect model for those around her.
  • Perky Goth: Her outfits trend towards gothic styles, and she's an incredibly sweet girl.
  • Pointy Ears: She has these as part of her design.
  • Race Lift: Her prior incarnations were fully Romanian, but here she's also half-Taiwanese on her mother's side.
  • Really 700 Years Old: She's 1500 years old as of the first season.
  • Rose-Haired Sweetie: Half her hair is pink and she's a kind girl. "Mummy in the Mirror" reveals that her hair is naturally pink and the black part is hair dye, and that she's actually changed it up a few times, like two semesters ago when it was black and pink stripes.
  • Serious Business: Witchcraft becomes this for her, since she's determined to get the ban on it fully revoked and help monsters see that it isn't bad.
  • Ship Tease: With Clawd.
  • The Smart Girl: She's the top of her class, and the smartest member of the main cast.
  • Vampire Lolita Archetype: She's a cute young vampire whose default style is Elegant Gothic Lolita-inspired.
  • Vegetarian Vampire: Rather than drink blood, she gets her energy from feeling good about herself.
  • Weaponized Headgear: She wears a hat with a large brim that can be used as a throwing weapon.

    Frankie Stein
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/frankiestein2022headshot.png

Voiced By: iris menas

The fifteen-day-old (at the beginning of the series) creation of a pair of mad scientists. While they're fairly intelligent (a direct result of their parents cherrypicking from the smartest monsters to create their brain), they have a lot to learn about typical teenager things.

  • Adaptational Gender Identity: Goes from a cisgender girl to a nonbinary femme character.
  • Adaptational Sexuality: Previous generations had them only be interested in guys, while they have ship tease with Cleo here.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Their previous incarnations had mint-green skin and black and white hair; here, they have more blueish skin and added blue streaks in their hair.
  • Artificial Limbs: Their lower left leg is made out of metal rather than flesh, and they can switch out their hands for things like grappling hooks.
  • Disabled in the Adaptation: This version of Frankie has a prominent metal leg, something both their previous incarnations and their live-action version lacked.
  • Fashionable Asymmetry: Their default outfit includes a jacket with differently-colored sleeves.
  • Frankenstein's Monster: They're a frankenmonster created by two mad scientists and directly based on the trope namer.
  • Good Scars, Evil Scars: They've got a number of clean stitches all over their body.
  • Literal-Minded: They occasionally have trouble understanding various metaphors, e.g. literally bottling up their emotions (via storing their electricity in a bottle) when Heath brings it up.
  • Mad Scientist: Has shades of this; they have a number of gadgets in their room, and one episode sees them attempt to build an essay-writing robot.
  • Naïve Newcomer: They've only been around for about two weeks at the start of the series, so they're less familiar with typical teenager stuff than the others.
  • Past-Life Memories: They can access the memories of every monster their brain was cobbled together from, though it's not always perfect.
  • Power Incontinence: They don't have full control over their electrical abilities yet, which is especially apparent whenever they're stressed out.
  • Queer Colors: Their outfit incorporates a lot of blue, white, and pink as a reference to the transgender pride flag.
  • Queer Establishing Moment: They establish that they use they/them pronouns during an assembly in the first episode.
  • Really Was Born Yesterday: They were created about two weeks before the start of the series.
  • Ship Tease: With Cleo in several episodes.
  • Shock and Awe: They're powered by electricity, which they can use in a variety of ways.
  • Twofer Token Minority: Nonbinary and has a prosthetic leg.
  • Younger Than They Look: They look like a teenager, but start the series out at 15 days old.

    Cleo de Nile
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cleodenile2022headshot.png

Voiced By: Kausar Mohammed

The daughter of royal mummies; while a bit spoiled and self-centered, she's got a kind heart and is willing to help her friends when needed. She's also highly fascinated by humans and human culture.

  • Adaptational Nice Guy: In G1 and the live-action movie, she starts out as the school's Alpha Bitch before becoming nicer. Here, she's nice from the start.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Her previous incarnations had brown hair with gold streaks and blue eyes; here, she has mixed blue hair and gold eyes.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In previous generations, she was in a long-standing relationship with Deuce. Here, while they did date in the past, they ultimately decided they were Better as Friends.
  • Always Someone Better: Her sister Nefera is this to her, upstaging Cleo in various school plays.
  • Attention Whore: She loves being the center of attention.
  • Curse of the Pharaoh: She's a royal Egyptian mummy who's able to cast various curses on others.
  • Everyone Has Standards: She may desire internet fame, but she refuses to achieve it by spreading gossip or posting embarrassing videos of others; as she puts it, "a queen never makes fun of her subjects".
  • Intrigued by Humanity: She has a fascination with human culture, and is eager to learn things about it from Clawdeen.
  • Literal-Minded: In "Food Fight", when told to pour her heart out to her iBall, she literally pours her heart out of the jar it's in.
  • Older Than They Look: She looks like a teenager, but several comments indicate she's incredibly long-lived.
  • Pest Controller: She has a swarm of scarabs that she can call on to do various things for her.
  • Ship Tease: With Frankie in several episodes.
  • Social Media Before Reason: Occasionally displays this, like in "Mummy in the Mirror" when she briefly considers letting a less moral mirror double of her take over her life Worth It for the EekTok views.
  • Soul Jar: She carries several of her organs around in jars; if she's separated from one for too long, her body ends up negatively impacted.
  • Spoiled Sweet: She's incredibly rich and spoiled by her parents, but kind at heart.
  • Super-Scream: Lets one out in "Mummy in the Mirror" that destroys the cursed mirror.

    Lagoona Blue
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lagoonablue2022headshot.png

Voiced By: Valeria Rodriguez

The daughter of a sea nymph and a sea monster, she grew up in a remote castle and dreamed of seeing the world. She's bubbly and sweet, but also prone to more vicious behavior.

  • Adaptational Nationality: Australian in previous generations, Honduran here.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: Goes from being the most down-to-earth member of her friend group to a bubbly Cute and Psycho type here.
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Her previous incarnations had blue skin, blonde hair with blue streaks, and green eyes; here, she has pink skin that fades to blue at the limbs, mixed blonde, pastel blue, and pastel pink hair, and hazel eyes.
  • Beta Bitch: She was this for Toralei briefly, but only because Toralei was blackmailing her. Once Draculaura found a way to keep Toralei from spilling Lagoona's secrets, she left her.
  • Companion Cube: She has a fish toy named Señor Squeaky, but keeps his existence a secret from other monsters.
  • Cute and Psycho: She'll be a sweet, bubbly girl one minute and threaten to eat other monsters the next.
  • Ear Fins: She has fish fins in place of ears.
  • Fish People: Natch. She looks mostly like a normal human but with fins, scales, unusual coloring, and sharp teeth.
  • Grin of Audacity: She has a tendency to show off her teeth this way.
  • Light-Haired Swimmer: She has blonde and pastel hair and is heavily associated with water, getting to various places around the school by swimming.
  • Making a Splash: She can control the moisture in the air to help her breathe on land, as well as make it do various other things.
  • Race Lift: Her previous incarnations were at least part-Polynesian, whereas here she's of Honduran descent.
  • Related in the Adaptation: In previous adaptations, she and Finnegan were unconnected; here, they're distant cousins.
  • Scary Teeth: She has a mouth full of sharp, shark-like teeth. Her Image Song suggests they're piranha teeth.
  • Spicy Latina: She's of Honduran descent and quite hot-blooded. This gets deconstructed a bit in "Monster Movie", where Lagoona reveals that her family has a history of severe arguments and she's scared of her friends seeing that side of her, so she becomes an Extreme Doormat Stepford Smiler on her own movie production because she's worried any argument might lead to "the chomps". Twyla eventually convinces her to be truthful, and her friends accept her ideas.
  • Tsundere: She describes herself as the perfect mix of sweet and sour, fierce but also kind. She's got a mouthful of sharp teeth that can filet a fish in a snap of a fin, but she also accepts all monsters regardless of stereotypes.
  • Unmanly Secret: The "tough woman" version: she hides her fish toy Señor Squeaky because she's scared that if people knew about about it, she'd lose her ferocious reputation. She lets go of this in "Case of the Missing Squeak", when her friends find out and reassure her that she's both adorable and fierce.

    Deuce Gorgon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/deucegorgon2022headshot.png

Voiced By: Tony Revolori

The calm, cool, and friendly son of Medusa. The snakes on his head are each named after the Seven Deadly Sins and prone to giving him bad advice.

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Previously, he was one of the few monsters with what could be considered a human skin tone; here, his skin is green.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In previous generations, he was in a long-standing relationship with Cleo. Here, while they did date in the past, they ultimately decided they were Better as Friends. He also doesn't have any of the Ship Tease with Clawdeen he did in the live-action movie.
  • Cute Little Fangs: He's got a pair of these.
  • Disabled in the Adaptation: He's revealed to have dyslexia in "Vamps Just Wanna Have Fun", which he didn't have in previous generations.
  • Multiple Head Case: His snakes each have their own personalities, based on the Seven Deadly Sins. They're prone to giving him questionable advice.
  • Mundane Utility: He uses his powers to turn sugar into rock candy for a bake sale.
  • Nice Guy: He's a pretty nice guy all around. Apparently, this is in direct defiance of his mother, who told him that "gorgons are never nice".
  • Power Incontinence: As in previous generations, he has to wear sunglasses to keep his petrifying gaze under control.
  • Resentful Outnumbered Sibling: He's the youngest of seven and the only boy, and hates that his sisters still treat him like a baby as a result.
  • Taken for Granite: He has the ability to turn living beings to stone with a look. The power can also be altered depending on what the beams are reflected through; reflecting them through rock candy makes it so they turn people into rock candy, and reflecting them through Ghoulia's brain-based bread loaf makes it so they can undo petrification.
  • "Well Done, Son" Guy: Deuce wants to make his mother proud, but is conflicted over how to do it.

    Ghoulia Yelps
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_4_fd7bb2f5fd.png

Voiced By: Felicia Day

A geeky zombie girl with a love of video games.

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Her skin goes from grey in G1 to pale green in G3.
  • Ascended Fangirl: She gets to perform with her favorite singer in "Flaunt Your Skeleton", who also gives her advice on how to conquer her stage fright.
  • Demoted to Extra: Zig-zagged; she's far more prominent a character than she was in G2, but doesn't quite have the same main character status she had in G1.
  • Gamer Chick: She's shown to be adept at video games, often carrying around a Nintendo Switch-like handheld console.
  • Stage Fright: In "Flaunt Your Skeleton", she ends up getting a literal case of brain freeze — whenever she tries to sing on stage, all she can do is moan out "brains".
  • Suddenly Voiced: In G1 she could only speak in moans, while here she can speak normally.
  • Techno Wizard: It's downplayed compared to G1, but it's still there — most notably, she was the one who coded the Horoscare app.

    Toralei Stripe
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/toraleistripe20223d.png

Voiced By: Alexa Kahn

A werecat and the daughter of Catarina Stripe, the current werebeast leader. As a result, she intially has a stuck-up attitude and seeks to get Draculaura kicked out of school for practicing witchcraft; however, she drops this attitude as the series goes on, eventually becoming an ally to the Boo Crew.

  • Adaptational Badass: A minor example; in G1 she was an awful singer, while here she's the lead singer of her own band.
  • Adaptational Nationality: Presumably American in G1, British here.
  • Alpha Bitch: She's Monster High's resident "bad girl", and tries to run it the way she thinks it should be run.
  • Blackmail: She tries to blackmail Draculaura into dropping out of the head fearleader vote in "Witch Hitch", and previously kept Lagoona at her side by threatening to tell people about Señor Squeaky.
  • Blue Blood: She hails from an elite monster family, with her mother Catarina currently acting as the leader of the werebeasts.
  • Cats Are Mean: She's a werecat and the school's resident Alpha Bitch.
  • Cat Girl: Natch.
  • Disappeared Dad: While her mother has been seen onscreen, Toralei apparently doesn't have a dad. The fact that she initally stays with Clawdeen's family after her mother's arrest seems to imply that her father is dead or otherwise not involved in her life.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Nasty as she's been, even she's horrified by her mother's attempts to pressure Clawdeen to give up the Moon Claw, an heirloom from her Missing Mom.
  • Fantastic Racism: She really hates humans and witches, strongly believing they don't belong in the monster world, and she's hellbent on getting Clawdeen (who's half-human) and Draculaura (who's secretly a witch) out of Monster High. She grows out of this belief as season 1 progresses.
  • Freudian Excuse: It's heavily implied from her interactions with her mother in "Spell the Beans" that Toralei's determination to be popular and admired are attempts to get Catarina's attention and approval.
  • Heel–Face Turn: In "Power Heist", she ends up apologizing for her misdeeds and officially joining Clawdeen's group of friends.
  • Hell-Bent for Leather: She has a leather jacket, suiting her role as a bully.
  • Pet the Dog: She ends up keeping Draculaura's status as a witch a secret out of gratitude for keeping her from getting expelled.
  • Reformed, but Not Tamed: While she's a lot nicer than she was at the start of the series, she still retains some of her nastier tendencies.
  • Rotten Rock & Roll: She's initially a nasty piece of work and eventually forms her own rock band, the Hissfits.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside: In "Monster High-jinks", she's still reeling from her mom's betrayal and is upset over the fact that she won't be able to come to Family Day, but she initially masks it under her usual snark and insults.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Over the course of season 1, she slowly becomes nicer towards others, eventually culminating in a full Heel–Face Turn by the finale.

    Heath Burns
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/heathburns20223d.png

A highly passionate fire elemental, and the son of Hades/the Devil.

  • Adaptational Species Change: Downplayed; while he's still referred to as a fire elemental, he may be at least part-demon given his father.
  • Anti Anti Christ: He's the son of the Monster High equivalent to the Devil, but clashes with him over how he treats the environment.
  • Childhood Friends: With Draculaura, as his dad took him to Dracula's resort for every business conference.
  • Elemental Hair Composition: Compared to previous generations where it only flamed up when he used his powers, here his hair is fiery 24/7.
  • Hidden Depths: He has some knowledge on mental health, working on techniques to keep his anger issues from getting out of control and seeing a therapist regularly.
  • Hot-Blooded: Literally; he's quite passionate in his emotions.
  • Orange/Blue Contrast: His outfit is largely blue, which contrasts his orange flames.
  • Playing with Fire: He can summon fireballs from his hands.
  • Power Incontinence: Has trouble controlling his fire powers occasionally, like in "Earworm" when he keeps burning the fliers handed to him.
  • Really 700 Years Old: It's implied he's around the same age as Draculaura, given that he's apparently been visiting Dracula's resort with her for hundreds of years.
  • Rich Kid Turned Social Activist: Heath's father is a wealthy CEO in the Underworld. It was the company's unethical practises and his cold relationship with his father that inspired Heath's passion for protecting the environment.
  • Soapbox Sadie: Downplayed, but he's got some environmentalist tendencies and clashes with his dad over how he contributes to global warming.
  • Ship Tease: With Abbey.

    Clawd Wolf (UNMARKED SPOILERS!)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_4_ebcca26acf.png

Voiced By: Jonathan Melo

Clawdeen's older/younger brother. Selena Wolf gave birth to him while she was trapped in Beheme, and they ran a pest control business until Clawd was accidentally brought to Monster High.

  • Age Lift: Technically Clawdeen's younger brother here rather than her older brother, though time passing differently in Beheme means he's older than her.
  • Fish out of Water: He struggles to adapt to Monster High after living his whole life in Beheme.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Having owned a pest control business with his mom in Beheme, Clawd creates and owns gadgets that are useful for catching monsters.
  • Gratuitous Spanish: He grew up with his Latina mother and was taught both English and Spanish, switching between the two whenever the mood strikes him.
  • Half-Human Hybrid: Like Clawdeen, he is half-human and half-werewolf.
  • Long-Lost Relative: To Clawdeen; their mother was trapped in Beheme while she was pregnant with him, and he only managed to escape and meet the rest of his family in the present day.
  • Momma's Boy: Living in Beheme with only Selena has left him incredibly close to her — so much so that he's initially wary about letting Clawdeen and Apollo join in on their traditions.
  • Race Lift: Like Clawdeen, he's Afro-Latino rather than implicitly fully black.
  • Ship Tease: With Draculaura.
  • Walking Spoiler: His very existence spoils the true fate of Selena Wolf.
  • Wolf Man: Like his sister, he has a human form, but he's rarely seen with it. He's furry, has wolf ears, claws, and fangs.
  • Younger Than They Look: He was born after Clawdeen, but is physically older than her.

    The Wolf Pack
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_4_68aaecbcdc.png
L-R: Barkimedes, Howleen, Romulus

Voiced By: Scott Menville (Romulus), Darius Marquis Johnson (Barkimedes), Victoria T. Washington (Howleen)

A trio of werwolves in a pack together. They have a rather antagonistic relationship with Clawdeen.

  • Adaptational Jerkass: G1's Howleen could be self-centered and impulsive, but she never stooped to theft and sabotage to get ahead as this Howleen is prone to. That said, she’s still the nicest member of the Wolf Pack.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: Howleen was Clawdeen's younger sister in previous generations. Here, they're completely unrelated.
  • Canon Foreigner: While Romulus and Howleen are re-imaginings of older characters. Barkimedes is completely new to the series.
  • The Ditz: Barkimedes isn't exactly the brightest bulb around, and has a difficult time understanding Romulus' schemes and the concept of keeping things secret.
  • Jerkass: Romulus initially doesn't want Clawdeen as part of the pack because of her half-human heritage, and when it seems that he's changed his mind it turns out that he just wants to steal her moon claw talisman to become the werebeast leader.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Howleen can be just as jerkish as her friends, but she's friendlier with Clawdeen and helps her out with her shedding issues.
  • The Leader: Romulus is nominally the leader of the pack.
  • Women Are Wiser: Howleen is both the only female member of the Wolf Pack and the smartest and least antagonistic member.

    Abbey Bominable
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/g3abbey.jpg

Voiced By: Aishwarya Pillai

A yeti who transfers to Monster High after the events of "Nightmare Nightmore".

  • Acting Unnatural: Does this repeatedly in "So Chill" when trying to hide how she froze Clawdeen.
  • Adaptational Curves: She has a considerably thicker build than she did in G1.
  • An Ice Person: She has ice-creating powers.
  • Bigfoot, Sasquatch, and Yeti: She's a yeti, naturally.
  • Exotic Eye Designs: She has eye reflections shaped like stars.
  • Harmless Freezing: She's capable of completely freezing someone, though they're always fine when they thaw out.
  • Homeschooled Kids: She was homeschooled for all her life, due to her mother believing that Monster High wouldn't accept her.
  • Power Incontinence: She lacks full control over her ice powers, which is a point of contention between her and her mom.
  • Race Lift: She goes from vaguely Russian in previous generations to South Asian-coded here, to better reflect her Himalayan origins.
  • The Runaway: She initially runs away from home after getting fed up with her mother's overprotective behavior.
  • Ship Tease: With Heath.

    Twyla Boogeyman
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_09_29_at_10626_pm.png

Voiced By: Kayla Cromer

An autistic boogeymonster who befriends the main cast in "Creepover Party".

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: Her limbs now fade into pink rather than grey.
  • Bookworm: She loves reading, and spends time in the library while everyone else is asleep so she can read in peace.
  • Casting a Shadow: She has several shadow-based powers, such as traveling through them or using them to create shadow puppets.
  • Childhood Friends: With Draculaura, as the two have known each other since they were in grave school.
  • Character Tics: She tends to fidget with her bracelet whenever she gets nervous.
  • Curtains Match the Window: Her purple eyes match the purple streaks in her hair.
  • Disabled in the Adaptation: She's autistic and hypersensitive to sound, wearing noise-cancelling headphones to block it out, something unique to this version of the character.
  • Dream Walker: As a boogeymonster, she can look at the dreams of others.
  • Glowing Eyes: Her eyes can glow, allowing her to see in the dark.
  • Growing Up Sucks: "Boogey Nightmare" reveals that she's afraid of growing up, believing she'll have to give up everything she likes when she does. She manages to conquer this fear by the end.
  • Impossible Shadow Puppets: It's actually an ability of hers; her control over shadows lets her make highly elaborate shadow puppets.
  • Ship Tease: Manny Taur is shown to have a crush on her in the Season 1 finale, and they end up dancing together during the Monster Ball.
  • Shrinking Violet: She's quite shy and spends much of her time hiding in the shadows. Befriending Clawdeen, Draculaura, and Frankie helps her come out of her shell a bit.

    Finnegan Wake
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_4_11eb350c89.png

Voiced By: Cole Massie

A merman who uses a wheelchair to get around on land.

    Nefera de Nile
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_4_247f76851c.png

Voiced By: Krystina Alabado

Cleo's older sister, whom she has a bit of a rivalry with.

  • Adaptational Heroism: She's nowhere near the Alpha Bitch she was in G1; at worst, she's Innocently Insensitive in regards to how she upstages her sister.
  • Always Someone Better: She's this to Cleo, constantly upstaging her in various areas.
  • Cool Teacher: "The Case of the Missing Squeak" reveals that she's a student teacher at Monster High; during a test, she lets the students do whatever as long as they don't cheat and finish the test by the end of the timer, even leave the classroom.
  • Innocently Insensitive: She initially doesn't realize how badly she affects her sister.
  • Parody Sue: Nefera is considered perfect by her parents and peers, which annoys Cleo to no end.

    Manny Taur
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mannytaur20223d.png

Voiced By: Jordan R. Coleman

A minotaur, and one of the smartest students at Monster High.

  • Adaptational Personality Change: From an ex-school bull-y to a Gentle Giant genius.
  • Gentle Giant: He looks large and intimidating, but is quite nice and tends to be easily frightened.
  • Nice Guy: He's a genuinely nice person who prefers to avoid conflict when possible.
  • Ship Tease: The Season 1 finale reveals that he has a crush on Twyla, and the two of them dance during the Monster Ball.
  • Teen Genius: He's one of the smartest kids in school, with a particular fondness for puzzles.
  • Unknown Rival: Draculaura considers him a rival, which he doesn't find out about until "Paw-zzle Pieces".

    Kuma
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_4_054e6e3f81.png

Voiced By: Sekai Murashige

An onikuma who starts attending Monster High the same day as Clawdeen.

  • Bears Are Bad News: Subverted; he's a bear-like monster who initially seems threatening, but turns out to be just as nice as most of Monster High's students.
  • Beary Friendly: First impressions aside, he turns out to be quite friendly.
  • A Dog Named "Dog": Kuma is the Japanese word for bear.
  • Youkai: He's an onikuma, a bear-like youkai.

    Purrsephone and Meowlody
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_4_1882085f0d.png
L-R: Purrsephone, Meowlody

Voiced By: Riki Lindhome (Purrsephone) and Kate Micucci (Meowlody)

A duo of werecat twins who are both Toralei's cousins and her closest friends.

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: G3 makes several changes to their appearances; their fur goes from dark grey to lilac, their eyes go from yellow to yellow and purple heterochromia, and the black and white coloration of their hair is distributed differently.
  • Adaptation Relationship Overhaul: In previous generations, there was no indication they were connected to Toralei outside of being her Girl Posse; here, they're her cousins.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: It's portrayed a bit more realistically than other examples of this trope, but Meowlody is the more hyper of the twins and finds it easier to remember drawings rather than verbal commands.
  • Dude, Where's My Respect?: They aren't happy when Toralei takes solo credit for their band, even though they all worked on the song. When she finally does give them credit, it's when Bloodgood is about to punish her for trying to brainwash the school.
  • The Perfectionist: Purrsephone becomes this in "Mixed-Up Meowlody", wanting the Hissfits' first gig without Toralei to go perfectly and stressing out when Meowlody is unable to remember her exact instructions.
  • Polar Opposite Twins: Purrsephone is more tomboyish, cool, and snarky; Meowlody is more feminine, bubbly, and kind.

  • Odd Friendship: He, a moody conspiracy theorist, appears to be friends with Mouscedes, a highly sociable rich girl.
  • Smelly Skunk: Being a wereskunk, he's naturally able to spray a foul-smelling cloud as a means of defense.

    Gillington "Gil" Webber

  • Color-Coded Wizardry: Her magic is orange-colored.
  • The Fashionista: She's an aspiring fashion designer and has plenty of good designs under her belt
  • In the Blood: Her grandmother is also a fashion designer, and she wants to honor her by winning a designer competition that she never won.
  • Power Incontinence: She starts practicing witchcraft in season 2, but initially struggles with spellcasting.
  • Visual Pun: Her bones are noticeably thicker than her G1 counterpart. So she's big-boned.

Voiced By: Rutina Wesley

A Boo York-native plant monster who runs a smoothie bar.

  • Plant Person: The type of monster she is.

  • Unusual Ears: She has leaf-like ears.
  • Vine Tentacles: She can summon vines from her body and use them as extra appendages.
  • Young Entrepreneur: She's a teenager, but she manages her own smoothie bar.

    Jinafire Long

Voiced By: Anna Cathcart

A Chinese dragon.

  • Adaptation Dye-Job: In previous generations, she had golden skin; here, she has green skin.
  • Advertised Extra: Her debut alongside Venus in "The Haunted Sandcastle Caper" was hyped up a bit in promotional materials; however, her relevance in the episode itself is pretty minimal, and unlike Venus she doesn't get any prominence in the following episodes that take place at the same location.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: She's a humanoid version of a Chinese dragon.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: Her role in "The Haunted Sandcastle Caper" is ultimately minor, but a video Lagoona took of her ends up solving the mystery.

Monster High staff

    Headmistress Bloodgood
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_2_5f03a954d1.png

Voiced By: Debra Wilson

The strict headless headmistress of Monster High.

  • Adaptational Jerkass: Downplayed compared to the live-action movie. While in G1 she was more lenient about breaking monster norms, here she's more strict about keeping them in place, though even then she remains gentle when breaking it to Clawdeen that she can't attend Monster High since she (seemingly) isn't a monster.
  • Headless Horseman: Naturally, this remains the inspiration for her character.
  • Losing Your Head: Able to detach and re-attach her head with ease.
  • Race Lift: White in previous generations, black here.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_2_a08eda65ee.png

Voiced By: Salli Saffioti

  • Cool Teacher: She's kind and encouraging to all her students.
  • Meaningful Name: Her name includes the word "shriek", which is what banshees tend to do.
  • Our Banshees Are Louder: She's a banshee, and she has the shriek typically associated with banshees.
  • Super-Scream: As a banshee, she has one, which she normally uses to get the students' attention during class.

    Coach Thunderbird
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_2_85d08c54f4.png

Voiced By: Tamara Podemski

A humanoid thunderbird who serves as Monster High's fearleading coach.

  • A Dog Named "Dog": A thunderbird named Thunderbird.
  • Braids, Beads and Buckskins: She has feathers in her braided hair, her jacket resembles a leather vest, and she's a monster that originated in Native American mythology.
  • Genki Girl: She's quite enthusiastic when it comes to her job.
  • No Indoor Voice: Coach Thunderbird doesn't talk, she cheers.
  • Perpetual Smiler: The only times she frowns are when something bad is happening, like the power outage accidentally caused by Frankie, or when she's just disappointed at a student's poor performance, like Deuce getting a C+ on his midterm.
  • Thunderbird: She's a humanoid thunderbird.

Mr. Klopman

Voiced By: Iris Bahr (Ziz), Phil LaMarr (Klopman)

A married couple who work at Monster High and oversee the werebeast midterms. Ms. Ziz is the new faculty advisor, while Mr. Klopman is the new casketball coach.

  • A Dog Named "Dog": Ms. Ziz is a ziz, a creature from Jewish mythology that resembles a griffin.
  • Ambiguously Jewish: Ms. Ziz and Mr. Klopman are both monsters that originated from Jewish mythology, but nothing is said about their religious leanings.
  • Aura Vision: Ms. Ziz is shown to have this; her eyes glow a rainbow of colors, letting her see the auras of the students.
  • Big Beautiful Woman: Ms. Ziz is on the large side and pretty enough to have attracted Dracula during their Monster High days.
  • Dramatic Ellipsis: Ms. Ziz verbally says "dot dot dot" twice in her debut episode, with Bloodgood lampshading it the first time.
  • Exact Words: When telling the werebeasts to grab the Klopman Diamond, Ms. Ziz claims it has untold power. When they bring it to her, she reveals that it doesn't have any powers at all — "the power's untold because there's nothing to tell".
  • Golem: This is Mr. Klopman's monster species.
  • The Maiden Name Debate: The two of them are married, but they kept their own last names.
  • Our Gryphons Are Different: Ms. Ziz is a ziz, a gryphon-like creature that originates from Jewish mythology.
  • Shout-Out: Mr. Klopman (and consequently the diamond in his chest) is named for the Klopman Diamond, a recurring item from Garfield and Friends.

Students' families

    Apollo Wolf
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_2_dc142ce7e9.png

Voiced By: Delbert Hunt

The father of Clawdeen and Clawd and husband of Selena Wolf. He works as a monster researcher.

  • Black and Nerdy: Black and works as a scientist and monster researcher.
  • Disappeared Dad: To Clawd, as he was born and raised in Beheme after his mom became trapped there.
  • Good Parents: He is shown to have a good relationship with his daughter Clawdeen, being supportive of her interest in monsters despite others shunning her for it and immediately forms a close relationship with his son Clawd once he meets him.
  • Interspecies Romance: He, a human, fell in love with Selena, a werewolf.
  • Secret Secret-Keeper: He knows about Clawdeen's werewolf heritage, but waits until she's ready to tell him about it before revealing that he does.
  • Took the Wife's Name: He took Selena's surname when they got married, apparently because he found it cooler than his own.

    Selena Wolf (UNMARKED SPOILERS!)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ezgif_2_524e420e9b.png
Click here to see her in the present day

Clawdeen's mother, who was trapped in Beheme for years before finally being rescued.

  • Action Mom: She's quite physically active, and she spent her years in Beheme fighting off its monsters.
  • Big Good: She was formerly the leader of the werebeasts, making her this for the werebeasts of the monster world.
  • Interspecies Romance: She, a werewolf, fell in love with Apollo, a human.
  • Missing Mom: She disappeared when Clawdeen was young, getting trapped in Beheme on a mission for the Monster Council. Fortunately, Clawdeen manages to rescue her in the present day.
  • Scars Are Forever: She has a scar on her palm from a battle she fought during her time as were-ruler.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In the live-action movies she's a case of Deceased Parents Are the Best, whereas here she's merely trapped in another dimension.
  • Surprise Pregnancy: When she became trapped in Beheme, she was unknowingly pregnant with her son Clawd.
  • Walking Spoiler: Saying anything about her other than that she disappeared spoils season 1's Myth Arc.

    Dracula
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_09_30_at_124936_pm.png

Voiced By: Ken Marino

Draculaura's father, a highly important and respected figure in the monster world.

  • Age Lift: Due other depictions of the character being conflated with Vlad Tepes over the last few decades, most other fiction depicts him as being "only" less than six-hundred years old. His daughter, however, mentions that he's 4,000 years old.
  • Dracula: The one and only.
  • I Have This Friend: When searching for advice on how to deal with Draculaura being a witch, he tells Apollo he's looking for advice for a friend whose daughter got into waterskiing.
  • It's All About Me: Dracula has a developed ego, constantly flattering himself, and doesn't always listen to monsters who aren't saying what he wants to hear.
  • Parents as People: He clearly loves Draculaura and wants her to be safe and happy at Monster High, but his strict adherence to tradition regarding the bans on witchcraft clashes with her secretly practicing it, which puts a strain on their relationship. When she finally tells him she's a witch in "Spell the Beans", he's initially left conflicted about what to do; however, after getting advice from Apollo Wolf, he comes to accept his daughter's interest in witchcraft and promises to try and change the rules so that she doesn't have to hide it anymore.

    Fang Wei
Voiced By: Lauren Gaw

A Taiwanese vampire, Draculaura's mother, and Dracula's ex-wife.

  • Competition Freak: In "Vamps Just Wanna Have Fun", it's revealed that she acts like this during the game portion of Family Day, to the point that Bloodgood has to pull her and Medusa (who's also one) aside to pre-emptively tell them not to go overboard.
  • Psychic Link: She and Draculaura share one that lets them send each other telepathic messages; apparently, it's a vampire thing.
  • Spared by the Adaptation: In G1, Draculaura's biological mom was deceased, and in G2 she was a complete non-entity. Fang Wei is alive and an active presence in her daughter's life.
  • Visit by Divorced Dad: Gender-inverted; she and Dracula are divorced and she lives all the way in Taipei, but she still stays involved in Draculaura's life and visits often.

    Mary and Victor Stein
Voiced By: Debra Wilson (Mary), Vishesh Chachra (Victor)

Frankie's parents, a mad scientist couple.

  • Interspecies Romance: Mary is a goblin and Victor is a zombie.
  • Like Parent, Like Child: No points for guessing where Frankie got their enthusiasm for science from.
  • Mad Scientist: Both of them are mad scientists, with Frankie as their creation.
  • Shout-Out Theme Naming: Victor is obviously named for Victor Frankenstein, while Mary's name comes from Mary Shelley, the writer of Frankenstein.

    Baba and Mummy de Nile
Voiced By: Vishesh Chachra (Baba), Artemis Pebdani (Mummy)

Cleo and Nefera's parents, a pair of royal mummies.

    Medusa and Lyra Gorgon
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_09_30_at_125120_pm.png
L-R: Lyra, Medusa

Voiced By: Rhea Seehorn (Medusa), Jessie Hendricks (Lyra)

Deuce's mothers, a gorgon and a siren, respectively.

  • All of the Other Reindeer: Medusa was the first gorgon to attend Monster High, and bullied as a result.
  • Competition Freak: Medusa has been one all her life, be it competing on the casketball court during her high school years or encouraging her son to be number 1. It's implied she became this to compensate for the bullying she suffered as the first gorgon at Monster High.
  • Gorgeous Gorgon: Medusa's a gorgon like her son, and she's attractive enough to fall into Mum Looks Like a Sister territory.
  • Our Sirens Are Different: Lyra is a siren, and her design seems to take cues from the bird-like sirens of Greek mythology.

    Stheno and Eurayle Gorgon

Voiced By: Debi Derryberry (Stheno), America Young (Eurayle)

Deuce's older twin sisters.

  • Always Identical Twins: They're nigh-identical save for their scale color.
  • Mythology Gag: They're named after Medusa's sisters from classical mythology. One might assume they're named after their aunts.
  • Knight Templar Big Brother: Downplayed, but they're so overprotective of Deuce that they outright sabotage his camping trip so that he won't go through with his plans to travel the world, something that rightfully makes him mad when he finds out. They promise to tone it down at the end of their debut episode once it becomes clear to them he can handle himself.

    Catarina Stripe (UNMARKED SPOILERS!)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_12_03_at_75943pm.png

Voiced By: Mary Jane Wells

Toralei's mother, and the current leader of the werebeasts. Also the main villain of season 1, having trapped Clawdeen's mom in Beheme to take the title of werebeast leader for herself.

  • Abusive Parents: When we're first introduced to her, she's shown to be highly neglectful of Toralei, berating her for "wasting her time" with her narrowly-averted expulsion hearing. Later episodes show her berating Toralei if she performs below her high standards at school, and by the finale she straight-up attacks her for siding with the Boo Crew over her.
  • All Your Powers Combined: She wields an "all-monsters" talisman that, as the name says, gives her the power of every monster.
  • Ambition Is Evil: Her ambition regarding staying the werebeast leader is depicted in a negative light, as it leads to her trying to take Clawdeen's Moon Claw necklace from her and neglecting her daughter. In the season 1 finale, she outright tries to brainwash other monsters into accepting her rule.
  • Big Bad: Of season 1. She's the one who trapped Selena Wolf in Beheme, and in the present day she tries to use the power of the blood moon eclipse to make herself ruler of all monsters.
  • Fantastic Racism: Absolutely loathes humans, and heavily opposed Selena Wolf's tolerance towards them.
  • Faux Affably Evil: She has a temper that flares up whenever things don't go her way, but she tries to keep it hidden to keep up her "perfect leader of the werebeasts" image.
  • Kick the Dog: When Clawdeen tries to trade a fake Moon Claw for Selena's diary, Catarina spitefully burns the diary. Toralei fortunately knew her mother would react this way and conspired with the Boos to switch out the diary with a fake, but it's still a cruel thing to do.
  • Not-So-Well-Intentioned Extremist: She claims that she trapped Selene in Beheme because of the latter’s admiration for humans. When mind-controlling the monster community, she claims that she wants to protect them by banning witchcraft, yetis, and romances between sea-monsters and freshwater-monsters. But seeing as those have more downsides than benefits, it’s clear that she just wants to be in control.
  • Parental Neglect: She alternates between ignoring her daughter in favor of work and berating her for wasting her time.
  • Slave to PR: She's got a reputation as dignified leader of the werebeasts to uphold, so she won't throw tantrums in public.
  • Unsatisfiable Customer: She nearly throws a fit in a restaurant over her order not being perfect, but calms down to keep projecting her image of perfection. According to Toralei, it's happened multiple times before, including one time where she burned a box of fireworks.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: Werecat in this case. It is unclear what happened to Catarina Stripe after her defeat in the Season 1 finale. All we know is that according to Clawdeen, she and Toralei had a falling out. However, "Mixed Up Meowlody" reveals that she and Torelai have been attending family therapy sessions at the Reform Center for Beasty Baddies, implying that she has been incarcerated there.
  • Workaholic: She prioritizes her duties as werebeast leader so much that she won't give Toralei the time of day.
  • Would Hurt a Child: She has no problem sealing the teenage main characters in a cave or attacking them if they get in her way.

    Hades Burns
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_11_14_at_35952pm.png

Voiced By: John O'Hurley

Heath's father, and the CEO and lord of the Underworld.

  • Corrupt Corporate Executive: He's a CEO who doesn't care how his business impacts the environment and tries to take a slumber pixie despite being warned how dangerous they are.
  • Elemental Hair Composition: Like his son, he's got fiery hair, though his is green.
  • Everyone Hates Hades: Bits of dialogue in "Scareer Day" imply he's the same Hades from Greek mythology, and he's portrayed as the setting's equivalent to the Devil on top of that.
  • It's All About Me: Has a pretty bad case of this, refusing to listen to others because he believes he's always in the right.
  • Parents as People: He does seem to genuinely love Heath, but his selfish attitude and the terrible things he's done have put a massive strain on their relationship.

    Tundra Bominable
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2024_03_15_at_90632pm.png

Voiced By: Devika Parikh

Abbey's overprotective mom.

  • Culture Equals Costume: Tundra wears a fur-lined sari to go with her South Asian origins.
  • An Ice Person: Like her daughter, she has cryokinetic abilities.
  • Horned Humanoid: She's got a pair of horns atop her head.
  • Mama Bear: She quite literally storms Monster High when she thinks her daughters been kidnapped.
  • My Beloved Smother: Due to prejudice against yetis, shes kept her daughter hidden away in the mountains for years and refuses to let her leave. She only loosens up and lets Abbey attend Monster High when she discovers that the outside world isn't as bad as she'd feared.

Other monsters

    Gakaiju and Modirah

Voiced By: Jenny Yokobori (Gakaiju), Andrew Kishino (Modirah)

A pair of Monster High alumni who invented casketball.

  • Berserk Button: Do not say that casketball is just for fun. Even in the afterlife, they'll hit you with a powerful jinx.
  • Kaiju: They're both kaiju, with Gakaiju bearing a resemblance to Godzilla.
  • Serious Business: Casketball is this to the two of them, and they'll jinx anyone who doesn't treat it the same way.
  • Villainy-Free Villain: Apart from jinxing the Monster High casketball team, when they start playing against them, Gakaiju and Modirah never cheat nor do they resort to violence even once in their game. All they do is trash talk the team.

    Skelly Vonderbone
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_11_30_at_90854am.png

Voiced By: Trixie Mattel

A famous singer and Monster High alumnus.

  • Dem Bones: She's a skeleton monster.
  • Ink-Suit Actor: Her design is heavily inspired by her voice actor's drag style.
  • Stage Fright: She used to suffer this early in her career, getting a bad case of rattlebones whenever she went up on stage. She managed to overcome it by turning her rattlebones into her signature knee-knock dance move.

    Autumn Patch
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2023_12_11_at_90841am.png

Voiced By: Nisa Ward

An internet celebrity who agrees to be the DJ at the Monster Ball.

  • Meaningful Name: "Autumn" is the season that pumpkins are heavily associated with, while "Patch" refers to pumpkin patches.
  • Pumpkin Person: She's a pumpkin-headed monster.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: She ends up livestreaming the Monster Ball to her many followers, giving Catarina an easy way to mind control the monster world in the process.

    Foxford (UNMARKED SPOILERS!)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/screenshot_2024_03_12_at_33319pm.png

Voiced By: Ólafur Darri Ólafsson

A werefox, and the official assistant to the were-ruler.

  • Big Bad: Set up to be this for season 2.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Acts friendly and helpful to Clawdeen while secretly trying to drive her away from the were-ruler position.
  • Companion Cube: He has a plush whale named Whaley that he monologues his schemes to.
  • Contrasting Sequel Antagonist: To Catarina Stripe. Both of them are well-respected figures in werecreature politics, but he's far better at putting up a pleasant facade than she is. Her ultimate plan is to take over the monster world by force, while he prefers using manipulation to achieve his goals. Additionally, while she was only physically introduced late in season 1, he maintains a presence throughout the entirety of season 2.
  • Evil Chancellor: Turns out to be this; his original intent was to wear Clawdeen down with the annoying minutia of being the were-ruler, even provoking a conflict between two rival territories, but her decision to step down and set up an election suits him just fine.
  • Foul Fox: He's a werefox and serves as the main villain of season 2.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: A justified example; since Clawdeen knows nothing about how were-rulership works, she relies on him quite a bit.
  • Manipulative Bastard: His plans involve using his charisma and his shapeshifting powers to manipulate things to his liking behind the scenes.
  • Number Two: His job is to serve as this to the current were-ruler.
  • Walking Spoiler: His presence spoils Clawdeen becoming the new were-ruler in the season 1 finale.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: He's capable of shapeshifting into other monsters as long as he has their DNA.

    Wereruler candidates
Voiced By: iris menas (Whiskerene), Kausar Mohammed (Whiskerbeth), Phil LaMarr (Bearon)

Candidates who are running for the wereruler position.

  • A Dog Named "Dog": Bearon is, naturally, a werebear.
  • Hufflepuff House: None of them get much characterization; they're just there to show that Selena, Romulus, and Foxford aren't the only ones interested in becoming the werebeast ruler.
  • Punny Name: Bearon's name refers to both his species and his title of baron.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: Whiskerene and Whiskerbeth are the mayors of rival towns and always trying to one-up each other.

Other humans

    Blair, Buddy, and Raine

Voiced By: Courtney Lin (Blair), Scott Menville (Buddy), Kausar Mohammed (Raine)

A trio of human goth kids who bully Clawdeen.

  • Big, Thin, Short Trio: Buddy is the Big, Raine is the Thin, and Blair is the Short.
  • Hypocrite: They bully Clawdeen for her interest in monsters, but are introduced attempting a seance and later try their hands at becoming monster hunters.
  • Meaningful Name: Buddy aptly turns out to be the friendliest of the trio.
  • Secret-Keeper: Buddy is one of the few humans to know of the existence of monsters, but keeps it a secret.
  • Token Good Teammate: Buddy turns out to be the nicest of the trio, forming a genuine friendship with Barkimedes and promising not to reveal his secret.
