  • Bald of Authority: He lost his hair and now he serves as the Big Good of the X-Men.
  • Beware the Mind Reader: While mostly well-intentioned and ethical, many don't feel comfortable with him prying into the minds of others.
  • Big Good: Continues to be this for the X-Men.
  • Cain and Abel: The Abel to Juggernaut's Cain.
  • Chrome Dome Psi: Like the original he is completely bald and has Psychic Powers.
  • Dead Guy Junior: He was named after his grandfather, Charles Graymalkin IV.
  • Drugs Are Bad: Watching his mother waste away in pills left him with a very negative view towards drugs.
  • Official Couple: Married to Moira MacTaggert.
  • Old Money: His mother's family, the Graymalkins, are an old and wealthy family who have been members of the Hellfire Club. His father Brian Xavier was actually a Black Knight.
  • Parental Abandonment: His father Brian Xavier died when he was only eight, while his mother Sharon Graymalkin died of a pill overdose when he was sixteen.
  • Prematurely Bald: The stress of trying to help his mother deal with her addiction ended up making him lose most of his hair.
  • The Professor: He's an actual professor and it's his codename.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Instead of merely being his foster brother, Cain Marko is his older half-brother through his mother Sharon.
    • He and Jean Grey are distantly related thanks to their shared ancestor Malkin Grey.
  • Telepathy: Xavier is quite possibly the world's greatest telepath. Xavier is able to read minds and project his own thoughts into the minds of others within a radius of 250 miles. When synced with Cerebro, this radius is higher.
    • Astral Projection: Xavier can use astral travel and communicate with others astrally. In the astral realm, he could use his powers to create "ectoplasmic" objects.
    • Master of Illusion: Xavier has the ability to create realistic telepathic illusions and cause people to experience events which are not actually occurring. Xavier can also telepathically disguise himself, making his appearance to those around him quite different.
    • Mind Manipulation: Xavier possesses the power to control the minds of others with concentration. This power could allow him to completely shut down several people's minds, making it appear as if time has stopped.
    • Psychic Radar: Xavier can sense the presence of another within a radius of himself. He can also filter the sensation to detect mutants.
  • Squishy Wizard: His powers are incredible, but he doesn't have much in the way of physical prowess, meaning he's at risk if his opponent is immune to his telepathy and is physically stronger than him.
  • We Used to Be Friends: He and Erik Lehnsherr were once close friends and associates, but now they oppose each other.

    Cyclops (Scott Summers)

Click for 1990s Civilian Look
  • Alliterative Name: Scott Summers.
  • Boring, but Practical: His eye-beams are so simple in execution, but so powerful anyway.
  • Charm Person: Scott's metabolization of energy creates a rather unique aura that gives off a field of psionic energy that those sensitive to describe as comforting and even mildly intoxicating. Charles Xavier even described it as 'catnip for telepaths', but also explained that effect seems to diminish with more experienced telepaths and with more familiarity to the sensation.
  • Cool Shades: Whenever he's not wearing his special visor, he's wearing his ruby-tinted glasses.
  • Cursed with Awesome: He can't turn off his eye beams thanks to a head injury when he was younger, meaning he always has to wear his glasses.
  • Eye Beams: His signature power.
    • Required Secondary Powers: His eyelids are resistant to his own eye beams, and he and his brother Alex are in turn resistant to each other's powers.
  • Large and in Charge: He's the tallest member of the X-Men at 6'3"/191cm tall, and their leader.
  • The Leader: Scott is a charismatic youth with a strong head for strategy and synergy. He is regularly helping other students bolster their weakest skills.

  • Red Is Heroic: His eye beams are red and he's the leader of the X-Men.
  • Sibling Team: With his brother Alex.

    Havok (Alex Summers)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/havok_earth_27m.jpg
Click for 1990s Civilian Look
  • Blue Is Heroic: In contrast to his brother's red beams, Alex's energy beams are blue.
  • Energy Absorption: Alex's body constantly absorbs ambient energy and converts it into a form of plasma. The plasma then becomes dormant in Alex's body with the structure of his rib cage acting like a power-cell enclave.
    • Required Secondary Powers: Due to the metabolization of his body's passive absorption of energy, Alex's body is completely immune to his own plasma. Furthermore, upon contact with Scott's body, the energy harmlessly dissipates with no effect.
  • Hidden Depths: Alex enjoys geology, math, and physics. He's actually a bit of a nerd and trivia guru. He enjoys reading science fiction stories and particularly likes spending his weekends and holidays devouring a Stephen King novel, often rereading his favorites regularly.
  • Power Incontinence: At times, Alex is not entirely able to control his ability, which sometimes makes him a danger to those around him. As a precaution, Alex wears a special sensor that registers if his containment levels are within range of capacity that the risk of an accidental release is possible. If the sensor gives him a warning, Alex is to excuse himself from what he is doing and release a sufficient blast in a safe location.
  • Ship Tease: He's very close to Lorna Lehnsherr/Polaris, and consider each other best friends, although they aren't dating yet.
  • Sibling Team: With his older brother Scott.

    Wolverine (James Logan)

Click for 1990s Civilian Look
  • A Birthday, Not a Break: Victor Creed constantly attacks him on his birthday, usually killing someone Logan is close to.
  • Arch-Enemy: Victor Creed/Sabertooth, who has tormented him for decades.
  • Cigar Chomper: Logan likes his cigars. Considering he doesn't have to worry about cancer thanks to his healing factor, he can smoke as much as he likes.
  • Cool Bike: Logan's motorcycle, dubbed "Honey" is a rugged 1988 Indian Scout. The various modifications made to "Honey" were done by Logan himself as he doesn't let anyone touch his bike.
  • Cunning Linguist: Logan is fluent in many languages including English, Japanese, Russian, Mandarin, Cheyenne, Lakota, and French. He is not certain when he learned these, but his proficiency suggests he learned these firsthand.
  • Healing Factor: Logan's body quickly regenerates damaged tissue, limbs, and organs at an accelerated rate. His healing factor does not affect his ability to feel pain from his injuries or pain caused from the healing process itself.
    • Never Gets Drunk: It is quite difficult for him to become intoxicated from alcohol, and even the entire cycle of intoxication and hangover can cycle out of his system in two hours.
    • Older Than They Look: Logan's healing factor has extended his lifespan by slowing the effects of the aging process. Meaning he ages roughly one-fifth the rate of a baseline human, suggesting he was born in the mid-to-late 19th century.
  • Hot Blooded Sideburns: His signature style, and he's utterly fierce in combat.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Wolverine might be gruff, short-tempered and not the best at opening to people, but he's a good guy who is fiercely protective of those he cares about.
  • Old Soldier: He's a veteran of nearly every major war since the end of the 19th century.
  • Papa Wolf: DO NOT threaten those he cares about. Just ask Sabretooth.
  • Perma-Stubble: His healing factor means he always has a five o'clock shadow.
  • Pint-Sized Powerhouse: He's only 5'3"/1.60m tall, yet weighs 300 lbs/136.1kg, making him incredibly strong and durable.
  • Super-Senses: Logan has incredibly acute senses. He can function in almost complete darkness with little impairment. His hearing allows him to hear heartbeats on the other side of walls. Logan's sense of smell can recognize and track people by smell alone.
  • Wolverine Claws: Well duh... The claws can be extended and retracted at will, making them deadly weapons in combat. This significant amount of adamantium contained within him also increases his weight, giving his physical blows more momentum.

    Marvel Girl (Jean Grey)

Click for 1990s Civilian Look
  • Animal Motifs: Even before she discovered the Phoenix Force, she was associated with a flaming bird while in the astral plane.
  • Boyish Short Hair: Back in the nineties she had short hair, but grew it out as she became older.
  • Domino Mask: A large golden one as Marvel Girl.
  • Famous Ancestor: Her ancestor Lady Eleanor Grey was a White Queen of the Hellfire Club during the late 18th century.
  • Massive Numbered Siblings: Not as much as other examples, but she has two sisters and two brothers.
  • Official Couple: Dating Scott Summers.
  • Old Money: Like Warren Worthington and Charles Xavier, Jean descends from an old and wealthy family whose members have been members of the Hellfire Club. She actually has a hereditary membership, although she wasn't aware of it until she became 18.
  • Power Limiter: Charles Xavier put telepathic limits in Jean's mind to give her better control over her overloading power. If Jean pushes herself too much, she could wipe out those blocks and then risk her sanity once again being consumed by her raw, untapped power.
  • Psychic Powers: She's an incredibly powerful mutant with telekinesis and telepathy.
    • Astral Projection: Jean cannot project her consciousness onto the Astral Plane alone, but she do it if guided by another psionic.
    • Barrier Warrior: Jean can create force fields that can protect her from hazards or attacks. She can also use her force fields to push her enemies with a pulse or create an airtight dome around herself and others.
    • Not Quite Flight: Jean can levitate in the air using her telekinesis. With concentration, she can even fly to speeds of about 20 MPH (32 km/h), but rarely engages in such activity as she admits she's afraid of falling.
    • Telekinesis: Jean can lift and control things with her mind, bigger and heavier are more difficult to her to control though.
    • Telepathy: Jean is capable of reading and controlling people's thoughts.
  • Related in the Adaptation: She and Charles Xavier share a common ancestor in Malkin Grey, making them distantly related.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: She's an incredibly powerful telekinetic and telepath with red hair and green eyes.

    Beast (Henry "Hank" McCoy
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/beast_teen_earth_27m.jpg
Click for 1990s Civilian Look

  • Beware the Nice Ones: He's an incredibly nice and easygoing person capable of great animalistic rage.
  • Best Friend: His best friend is Warren Worthington.
  • Blue Is Heroic: Associated with the color blue, even before his mutation turned extreme.
  • Handy Feet: Hank can perform many tasks with his feet as easily as with his hands. His manual and pedal dexterity are so great that he is considered to be omnidexterous.
  • Healing Factor: Hank's metabolism enables him to repair mild to moderate injuries much faster than a normal human.
  • Hunk: Before he became a blue-furred Beast Man, he wasn't bad looking, although with larger than average hands and feet.
  • Hopeless Suitor: His crush on Jean Grey was always going to be unrequited.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Not only is Hank strong, but he's also incredibly fast and agile.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: Wears glasses and is one of the smartest X-Men.
  • Super-Strength: Hank is able to lift about one ton over his head and leg press about two tons with extreme effort. Hank can also leap about 32 feet high or 50 feet forward if given a short space for a running start. He can leap about a third of those distances with his feet planted still.
  • Super-Toughness: The tissue and fibers of Hank's body are harder and more resistant to certain types of injuries than the bodies of normal humans. His physiology can withstand great impact forces and is more resilient to strains and stress. Hank can withstand physical impacts, such as falling from several stories to land on his feet without suffering any broken bones or sprains.

    Angel (Warren Worthington III)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/angel_teen_earth_27m.jpg
Click for 1990s Civilian Look
  • Alliterative Name: Warren Worthington.
  • Healing Factor: Warren can regrow damaged or destroyed tissue. At first he believed this only happened to his wings, but it appears that his blood possesses special enzymes that allow him to recover from injuries at rates greater than any normal human.
  • Famous Ancestor: His ancestor, General Wallace Worthington, served as Black King of the Hellfire Club during the late 18th Century, while his wife Elisabeth Shaw-Worthington served as Black Queen.
  • Flight:
    • Required Secondary Powers: His bones are flexible and hollow, his body processes food more efficiently than a normal human body and does not store any excess fat, and he possesses a greater proportionate muscle mass than normal.
    • Super-Senses: Parts of his anatomy are comparable to those of birds, especially birds of prey. His eyes can withstand high-speed winds which would damage the average human eye and his eyesight is on par with an eagle's (or even better), allowing him to spot movement and details even from a great distance.
  • Long-Lost Relative: Being a descendant of Elisabeth Shaw-Worthington, he's distantly related to Sebastian and Shinobi Shaw.
  • Old Money: Like the Greys and Graymalkins, the Worthingtons are an old and wealthy family with ties to the Hellfire Club, with his father and grandfather being members of the Inner Circle. Warren himself has a hereditary membership, although he wasn't aware of it until he turned 18.
  • Promoted to Love Interest: He and Wanda Lehnsherr are dating.note
  • Super-Strength: Warren can lift almost four times his body weight.
  • Winged Humanoid: His angel-like wings.

    Iceman (Robert "Bobby" Drake)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/iceman_teen_earth_27m.jpg
Click for 1990s Civilian Look
  • Ambiguously Gay: His orientation on his profile is listed as heterosexual, with a question mark, possibly as an homage to how his Earth 616 counterpart didn't come out after 40 years of existence
  • Badasses Wear Bandanas: For his first outfit as Iceman he wears a bandana with an 'x' in it.
  • Best Friend: His best friend is Pietro Lehnsherr.
  • Fun T-Shirt: He has many of these.
  • An Ice Person: He's Iceman and he can turn his body into living ice. Bobby can control moisture to such a degree that allows him to freeze any air moisture into super-hard ice. Bobby can form this ice into any object of his choosing, and the only limitations are his own imagination and the ambient air temperature, which determines how long his ice sculpture will stay icy.
    • Elemental Baggage: Due to the amount of water on Earth, Bobby has virtually unlimited supply of moisture since it is always present in the surrounding air or environment. Even desert air has sufficient moisture for him make practical use of; however, the mental effort required could tire him out.
    • Elemental Shapeshifter: When he first began to lower his body temperature, this covering took on a more snow-like appearance. But as he learned to increase the severity of his coldness, the coating assumed the consistency of ice.
    • Heat Vision: Bobby can see heat signatures.
    • Weather Manipulation: Bobby can sense, generate, and manipulate cold aspects of the weather such as snow, hail, blizzards, crisp air, freezing rain.
  • Power Incontinence: Bobby loses control of his powers when he is emotional. If he's angry, it's not unusual for him to flash freeze his surroundings.
  • The Prankster: On occasion, Iceman uses his powers for pranks.
  • Smarter Than You Look: Bobby might act the fool, but he is incredibly smart and has a real head of numbers. Moira thinks he would make a good architect or accountant, though he probably wants to be a comedian.
  • You Fight Like a Cow: Regularly uses Witty Banter in combat situations.

    Rogue (Anna-Marie Darkholme)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/rogue_earth_27m.jpg
Click for 1990s Civilian Look
  • Adaptation Name Change: In the comics she didn't use her original last name, but here she uses the last name of her adoptive mother, Raven Darkholme.
  • Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: In her casual clothes, and she's a beautiful Southern Belle, even if the rest of her wardrobe doesn't indicate it.
  • Blessed with Suck: Her power is indeed powerful and has great potential, but the traumatic nature on which they were activated and the psychological block in her mind means her power is always active.
  • Composite Character: Her hairstyle in the nineties originates from Wolverine and the X-Men series, her father's name comes from the Ultimate Universe while her mother's last name comes from the X-Men movies.
  • Conspicuous Gloves: Rogue always wears gloves so she doesn't use her powers on other people unintentionally.
  • The Gloves Come Off: Kind of literally. If Rogue takes off her gloves, it means she's willing to absorb the life force of her opponent.
  • Jill of All Trades: Rogue dabbles in a bit of everything. Much of this is residual knowledge from the absorbed psyches of past uses of her power, but Rogue has also built upon this foundation significantly as she never knows what skills will help her better control any mutant abilities she might absorb next. Rogue is most proud of her knitting skills, finding it therapeutic.
  • Mark of the Supernatural: Her signature white stripe that runs along her head. She was actually born with it, instead of a manifestation of her powers.
  • Named by the Adaptation: Her last name is technically unknown, but here it's D'Ancanto, much like in the Fox film series.
  • Power Copying: Through intense concentration, Rogue can call upon the residual skills, memories, talents, and knowledge of past psyches she has absorbed. These psyches tend to fade rather quickly with time but it appears as though they never completely leave her system.
  • Power Parasite: Rogue can absorb the powers, energy, memories, talents, personality, knowledge, and abilities of another human or mutant through physical skin-to-skin contact. The longer contact is sustained, more is absorbed and the longer the absorbed traits remain.
  • Southern Belle: Not as pronounced as other incarnations but yeah, she has a nice southern drawl.
  • Touch of Death: If she touches someone they can become unconscious, and prolonged contact can even kill a person.

    Gambit (Remy LeBeau

  • Badass Longcoat: Of course, Remy always has an impressive brown long coat.
  • Charm Person: Remy appears to have a subliminal psionic talent channeled through his voice and eye contact that allows a subtle influence over any sentient mind. This power allows him to compel others to believe what he says and agree with anything he suggests. More powerful minds (including most psionics) have proven immune to his charm, as are people who are consciously aware of what he's doing.
  • Classy Cane: In his civilian picture he has a cane instead of his signature staff.
  • Conspicuous Gloves: The fingerless variety, which is a signature part of his ensemble.
  • Love at First Sight: From the moment he saw Anna-Marie he's been infatuated with her, and he was even more determined to win her over even after he nearly died after kissing her.
  • Mysterious Past: He doesn't remember his past nor his birth name, only that he showed up one night in New Orleans with his pajamas covered in blood.
  • Psychic Block Defense: As a side-effect of Remy's psionic power, his aura is rather dynamic and excited at all times, making him highly resistant to psychic intrusion, manipulation, and detection.
  • Purple Is Powerful: Remy's signature color is purple, and he even wears a purple shirt in casual clothes.
  • Ragin' Cajun: A proud cajun of New Orleans with an accent to match.
  • Southern Gentleman: Especially towards Rogue... who often appreciates this.
  • Street Smart: Trained on the streets, Remy is skilled pickpocket, magician, and con-man. He also been trained in Savate (French kickboxing) and stick-fighting. Other skills Remy has included hot-wiring cars, parkour (acrobatic French free-running), and lockpicking. He also speaks French.
  • Stuff Blowing Up: Remy has the power to convert the potential energy stored in an object into kinetic energy with explosive results. He prefers to charge them is greatly reduced and they are much easier for him to throw. This conversion takes place through direct skin contact. He cannot utilize his powers in this fashion on living matter molecules.
  • Super-Empowering: Remy can excite his own molecules to temporarily give himself speed, strength, reflexes, and reactions, flexibility, dexterity, coordination, balance, endurance, and/or accelerated healing. Such enhancement will cause him to fatigue quickly. Though the abilities he can bestow upon himself in this manner are impressive, Remy cannot grant himself superhuman physicality.
  • Technicolor Eyes: His signature red eyes and black sclerae.
  • The Trickster: As you'd expect of somebody who grew up as a thief, Gambit likes messing with peoples' heads.

    Shadowcat (Katherine "Kitty" Pryde)

Click for 1990s Look
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Brown hair and brown eyes.
  • Dancing Is Serious Business: Kitty is trained in ballet and modern dance. She is highly agile and nimble, with good coordination and flexibility.
  • Fatal Flaw: Fickleness. Kitty's creativity can cause her to hesitate and be indecisive. An example of this is Kitty's inability to stick to one cryptonym.
  • Fun T-Shirt: She wears a Nirvana t-shirt.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: She's over a head shorter than her love interest Piotr Rasputin.
  • In-Series Nickname: Kat, Kate, Kit-Kat, Kitty.
  • Intangibility: Her signature ability is becoming intangible. This ability is accomplished by passing her atoms through the spaces between the atoms of the object through which she is moving, a process known as phasing. In this way, Kitty and the object through which she is passing could temporarily merge without interacting, allowing both to remain unharmed. When Kitty is phasing, she becomes intangible, allowing her to pass through objects without resistance. This makes her virtually untouchable, as oncoming projectiles or energy blasts will pass more or less harmlessly through her without causing any damage. This is accomplished by Kitty shifting into a "phasing" state, even if she is not at the time passing though an object. During the phasing process, Kitty passes through objects at the same rate of speed at which she was moving before she entered them. This means that she can maintain her momentum while phasing, allowing her to move quickly through objects and even pass through solid wall on floors.
    • Logical Weakness: However, Kitty must be careful when phasing through large or dense objects, as the process can be physically and mentally taxing, causing her to become light-headed or even losing consciousness as a result.
  • Invisibility: While phased, Kitty can choose to let light pass through her in a different way, allowing her to blend into her immediate surrouding and environments, making her almost invisible to anyone viewing her with the naked eye. This is particularly effective at night or whilst hiding in shadows.
  • Not Quite Flight: While in a phased state, Kitty can walk on both air and water.
  • Shoulder-Sized Dragon: Her pet and partner Lockheed the dragon.
  • Walking Techbane: When phasing through an object with an electrical system, the process often disrupts the system's workings, causing a malfunction — computer equipment seems particularly effected by this. Something similar seems to happen when Kitty phases through an organic being, to feel stunned or disoriented. Though no serious harm seems to be caused from this, prolonged or repeated exposure to this has not been tested due to health concerns.
  • Youthful Freckles: She has them and she's the youngest X-Man of her generation.

    Nightcrawler (Kurt Wagner)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/nightcrawler_earth_27m.jpg
Click for 1990s Look
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Similarly to his biological mother Mystique, Kurt has a thin layer of deep-blue fur.
  • Circus Brat: For a time he was part of Herr Getmann's Traveling Menagerie.
  • Cunning Linguist: Kurt is fluent in a variety of languages, having toured most of Europe in his youth. In addition to his native German, Kurt can speak English, French, Spanish, Italian, Latin, and Latverian. Kurt also speak some Russian and Japanese but has yet to master either.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: He might have blue fur, glowing monochromatic eyes and look like a demon, but he's one of the nicest, most forgiving persons you'll meet.
  • Happily Adopted: For a time he was really happy as the sort-of adopted child of the Szardoz family.
  • Innate Night Vision: Kurt's glowing eyes allow him to see perfectly in darkness.
  • Monochromatic Eyes: Kurt has permanently glowing golden eyes.
  • Nice Guy: He's easily one of the nicest and most optimistic members of the X-Men.
  • Parental Abandonment: His father Kristoff Wagner tried to have him killed as soon as he was born, so his mother Raven left him at a monasterie, hoping he would be safe.
  • Pointy Ears: To go with his demon-like appearance, he also has pointy ears.
  • Prehensile Tail: Kurt has a tail that which allows him to grab objects with ease. The tail is strong enough to support Kurt's own body weight and is dextrous enough to act as an fifth limb.
  • Teleportation: Kurt possesses the power to teleport himself, his clothes, and limited amount of extra mass that's in contact with him (typically no more than his own body weight). He archives teleportation by briefly shifting into a mysterious sub-dimension, traversing through it, and then reappearing in our dimension at a specific distance from where he started. Kurt consciously decides his destination point. The entire process is so fast that he doesn't even notice being in the other dimension. Upon exit or re-entry into our dimension, Kurt aperture makes a distinct "BAMF" sound upon its split-second opening and closing — the only telltale signs of his journey are a lingering sulfur smell and a puff of yellow smoke, which are remnants of the other dimension's atmosphere that slip through with Kurt.
  • Stealth Expert: Kurt's skin is not actually blue, but rather his body is covered in a thin coat of blue fur. This fure turns black in the absence of light, allowing Kurt to bend into shadows with alarming ease.
  • Super-Toughness: Kurt's bone structure allows him great flexibility. He can remain in a crouched position for a long time and perform contortionist type feats without causing any damage of his spine. His bones are also highly resilient, allowing him to fall from great heights with minimal damage and endure severe concussive force without breaking bones.

    Colossus (Piotr Rasputin)

Click for 1990s Look
  • The Big Guy: He's obviously this for the second generation of X-Men.
  • Caring Gardener: Piotr is an accomplished farmer, gardener, and botanist. Though the growing of produce was his occupation, Piotr took an interest in other flora due to their beauty. Since arriving at Xavier's School, Piotr has shown to have quite the green thumb and he often spends considerable time in the garden or greenhouse.
  • Cast from Calories: The process of transforming into organic steel requires considerable calories. Piotr consumes nearly three times the daily calories of the average person of his size and build. If malnourished, dehydratated, exhausted, or impaired by illness, Piotr may be unable to transform.
  • Chrome Champion: As always, Piotr has the mutant ability to convert his bodily tissues into an organic metal substance that shares similarities with osmium and carbon steel. This transformation into an armor-like state can initiated at will and occurs instantly and can remain in effect indefinetly. Piotr can usually return to his normal form at will, even remaining in his steel form even if he loses consciousness.
  • Famous Ancestor: He's a descendant of the infamous Grigori Rasputin.
  • Faster Than They Look: In his transformed state, Piotr's mobility and agility are not impaired. His increased strength and stamina also grant him peak human running speed, allowing him to run approximately 27 MPH (~43 km/h) for hours at a time. Even in his normal form, Piotr's running speed is alarmingly fast, often startling those around him.
  • Gentle Giant: He stands at 6'6"/198cm tall and he's a pretty nice and easygoing person.
  • Hidden Depths: Piotr is a remarkable artist, particularly in the mediums of sketching and painting. He also enjoys making silly caricatures of classmates & faculty in his spare time and is rarely seen without a sketchbook close by for when inspiration strikes him.
  • Huge Guy, Tiny Girl: He's interested in Kitty Pryde, who barely stands at 5'6"/168cm, over a head shorter than him.
  • Husky Russkie: He's huge and burly and still speaks with a heavy Russian accent, even if he was taught English telepathically by Xavier.
  • In-Series Nickname: Pete, Peter, Chrome Dome.
  • Lightning Bruiser: He's huge, hits hard and is surprisingly fast for his size and weight.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: In his armored form, Piotr is nigh-impervious to physical injury. He can withstand small-arms ballistic weapons, survive temperature extremes of heat and cold (exact limit untested), and endure a collision with aloaded, one ton flatbed truck at 100 miles per hour. Piotr can also survive falls from great heights. Even his most vulnerable areas, such as his eyes and groin, are able to withstand a direct shot from 9mm pistol — causing Piotr momentary discomfort.

    Magik (Illyana Rasputina)
Click for 1990s Civilian Look
  • Cool Sword: Illyana has created a blade made of extraplanar energy. This weapon, she calls the "Soulsword", is able to disrupt energy, deflect projectiles, and injure most beings that are otherwise impervious to bladed physical weaponry, such as her brother Piotr in his steel form.
  • Domain Holder: When inside Limbo, Illyana appears able to mentally shift the environment to some degree, being able to create structures out of the existing landscape with intense concentration or altering elements like the weather or atmosphere to her liking. Using this power, she had created an idyllic farmhouse on a field of green grass and colorful flowers, but should you venture beyond this location, you will see the native landscape of Limbo return, with floating landmasses of scorched earth and rock, various ominous storm clouds of unnatural colors, and distant screams of unseen beings.
  • Hand Blast: Illyana can release energy blasts from her hands.
  • Hidden Depths: Illyana is an expert on the subject of music. Though she does not know how to play any instruments herself, she has a strong grasp on musical theory, and she has a head for remembering facts about various bands and singers, including being able to easily memorize and recall the lyrics of just any song she has ever heard. Illyana also has a beautiful singing voice, though she will rarely allow anyone other than her brother to hear it.
  • In-Series Nickname: Little Snowflake, The Dark Child.
  • Master Swordsman: Since creating her Soulsword, Illyana has taken an avid interest in swordsmanship, including fencing. She practices with her fellow classmate Kurt Wagner often.
  • Not Quite Flight: Illyana has the ability to create "stepping discs" or portals. These stepping discs allow Illyana and others to travel to an extraplanar dimension by stepping across the threshold. When Illyana creates a stepping disc on Earth to travel to another place on Earth, she must use "Limbo" as a midway point. Once in Limbo, any stepping disc Illyana creates has a drastically expanded range, allowing Illyana to bridge Limbo to any location she is familiar with or able to mentally visualize (the more accurate the visualization, the closer the stepping disc will be to the target location).
  • Sensual Slavs: She's Russian and in contrast to her husky brother, she's svelte and dangerous-looking, but still quite attractive.
  • Summon to Hand: Illyana can store her Soulsword inside a pocket reality and summon it to her whenever she desires.
  • Tank-Top Tomboy: In casual clothes she wears a skeleton-themed tank top, and she's not particularly feminine.
  • Thinking Up Portals: When in Limbo, Illyana can create windows which allow her to view what is happening on Earth. She can freely move these windows to scout out locations for a possible stepping disc placement.

  • Blow You Away: Ororo can summon strong wind currents strong enough to support her weight to elevate herself (or others) to fly at high altitudes and incredible speeds.
  • Caring Gardener: During her brief time living among a farming village, Ororo learned how to maintain a garden and is interested in furthering this hobby.
  • Claustrophobia: Ororo has an intense fear of enclosed spaces stemming from her childhood trauma. She is currently undergoing psionic therapy.
  • Cunning Linguist: Ororo is fluent in Yoruba, English, and Egyptian Arabic. She also speaks and understand a basic conversation level of Swahili and Xhosa, learned from other criminal street children she ran with in Cairo.
  • Electric Black Guy: Black Girl, but Storm's main method of attacking while controlling the weather is channeling lightning.
  • In-Series Nickname: 'Ro, Blue, Sky, Windrider, Witch.
  • Monochromatic Eyes: Her eyes turn pure white when using her powers.
  • Power Incontinence: Ororo's powers are affected by her emotions. When she is frightened, her powers may not be responsive. If she is angry, her powers may be more dangerous or volatile. Without Ororo's intent, the weather in her locality can respond to Ororo's emotions. In her short time at the school, Ororo's feeling sad has conjured a flash-flood and her feeling lonely has caused a sudden drop in temperature followed by snowfall in summer.
  • Required Secondary Powers: Ororo's body counteracts temperature, adjusting her temperature in contrast to its external environment. This allows her to remain fairly comfortable in any natural environment after spending a short acclimation period in such an enviroment.
  • Shock and Awe: Ororo can summon lightning from the sky (provided natural weather or altered weather would allow it). In times of extreme emotion, Ororo also appears able to expel lightning without the need of an emotional catalyst, as Ororo can create minor electrical currents in a calm state.
  • Significant White Hair, Dark Skin: One of the best known examples.
  • Statuesque Stunner: She stands at 5'11"/180cm tall and she's incredibly beautiful.
  • Super-Senses: Ororo has a psionic ability to intuit the weather of not only her own locality, but also any other location on Earth that she is at least fairly aware of. As an example, Ororo has never been to Australia, but she can tell you if it's presently raining on the western coast.
  • Technicolor Eyes: She noticeably has intense blue eyes, representing her weather powers.
  • Weather Manipulation: Ororo possessed the psionic ability to control all forms of weather. Ororo can alter the environmental temperature of the environment, control all forms of precipitation, humidity and moisture, generate lightning and other electromagnetic atmospheric pressure. She can incite all forms of meteorological tempests, such as tornadoes, thunderstorms, blizzards, and hurricanes, as well as mist. Ororo can also dissipate such weather to form clear skies as well. The greater the weather effect, the more concentration and mental effort is required.

    Morph (Kevin Sydney)

Click for 1990s Look
  • Badass Cape: As Morph he wears a purple cape that resembles Magneto's.
  • Bald Head of Toughness: Has no hair in his default mode and he's incredibly hard to damage.
  • Blank White Eyes: In his regular form.
  • Composite Character: He's a combination of his four major incarnations, his original one (which went by the alias Changeling), his animated counterpart, his Age of Apocalypse counterpart and his more famous Exiles counterpart.
  • Friend to All Children: He considers David and Kevin Xavier his friends.
  • Healing Factor: Kevin possesses a healing factor that enables him to regenerate his cellular structure at an extraordinary rate and even reattach severed body parts, although he does need time to recover afterwards.
  • Intergenerational Friendship: He considers Logan his best friend, who is old enough to be his ancestor.
  • The Needless: Kevin's body does not possess fatigue-building poisons within his muscles making him phenomenally durable and indefatigable. He can also survive without food or water for weeks. In fact, he doesn't need to eat what we call food (though he definitely prefers it over most alternatives).
  • The Noseless: In default mode he has no nose.
  • One-Steve Limit: Shares his first name with Xavier's son Kevin.
  • Sad Clown: His mother died when he was eleven. The constant jokes came after, as an attempt to lighten his father's mood.
  • Smoking Is Not Cool: Because of his mother's death by lung cancer, he doesn't like when people smoke. He even tried to convince Logan and Mystique to quit smoking.
  • Super-Toughness: Due to Kevin's unique genetic build, he can either absorb the impact of any type of man-made ballistic projectile by deforming his body along the path of its trajectory or allow it to pass through him unarmed. He is impervious to virtually any form of penetration wound and does not bleed but is somewhat susceptible to energy based attacks.
  • Two First Names: Kevin and Sydney.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Unlike Mystique's shapeshifting that is limited to Human Shifting, Morph can turn into anything. Thanks to the unstable molecules that make up his body, Kevin is only limited by his imagination, emotional state and mass.

    Sage (Terezija "Tessa" Lisic)

Click for 1990s Civilian Look
  • Adaptation Dye-Job: In the comics Sage has black hair and blue eyes, but here she has brown hair and eyes.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance: In the comics Sage only joined the X-Men after being a part of the Hellfire Club as Sebastian Shaw's assistant, but here she's the first mutant Charles Xavier found using Cerebro, becoming his personal assistant.
  • Badass Bookworm: She is skilled in martial arts and is a formidable hand-to-hand combatant thanks to her having complete conscious control over her own body.
  • Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: In her casual clothes and she's quite the Sexy Secretary.
  • Cool Shades: Her signature red-tinted glasses.
  • Curtains Match the Windows: Has brown hair and brown eyes.
  • Excuse Me While I Multitask: Tessa is able to perform multiple tasks at once by allocating a partition of her brain to each task. For example, she can use her mind to replay a movie she had watched previously, play a game of internet chess, and focus on battling an opponent without any one task distracting her from another.
  • Facial Markings: Has two purple lines running bellow her eyes.
  • Instant Expert: Tessa can perfectly execute any skill she has had a single lesson in without the need for practice. If she witnesses a skill or technique in execution firsthand, she can easily duplicate it.

  • Omniglot: Tessa has a knack for languages. She claims to have already mastered 61 languages.
  • Photographic Memory: Tessa perfectly remembers anything and everything she experiences. She can instantaneously retrieve every memory and any information she has perceived.
  • Prim and Proper Bun: Keeps her hair in a bun, although she isn't particularly prim or proper.
  • Psychic Block Defense: Tessa has created her own unique psionic protection against outside mental influence. By erecting what she calls a psionic "firewall", Tessa is able to effectively protect herself from direct mental attacks, probes and detection of the mental variety while creating a defensive force that reflects any offensive mental action back at her attacker.
  • The Rival: Sees Moira MacTaggert as her rival.
  • Sexy Secretary: Rather than a student or a teacher, Tessa prefers being Charles' personal secretary, and she certainly has the looks.

    Banshee (Sean Cassidy)
Click for 1990s Look
  • Action Dad: Father of Theresa Cassidy and a pretty skilled mutant fighter.
  • Badass Teacher: While in prison, Sean got an education and earned a college degree. Having majored in education, Sean is an accomplished teacher and academic administrator. He is fully capable of teaching a wide variety of basic courses, including mathematics, science, English, literature, social studies, and seveal advanced courses such as music theory, singing, piano, guitar, political science, and machining.
  • Barrier Warrior: Sean can reinforce sound waves around himself or others in his immediate proximity, making a barrier against outside attack or environmental hazards.
  • Clashing Cousins: He and his cousin Thomas Cassidy have a bitter rivalry stemming from Sean trying to turn around his life and also exposing Tom's crimes.
  • Compelling Voice: Sean can emit an almost unheard note that can affect the subconscious mind of others, placing them into a trance with prolonged exposure, making them more prone to suggestion and persuasion.
  • Fighting Irish: He's from Ireland and he's quite the skilled fighter. One of his nicknames is even Irish.
  • In-Series Nickname: Irish and Keener.
  • The Lost Lenore: His wife Maeve Roarke, who died of cancer shortly after revealing Sean was a father.
  • Not Quite Flight: Sean has the ability to fly at subsonic speeds by using his voice to propel him through the air, effectively riding his sound waves. This is somewhat clumsy method of locomation, but Sean and Hank are working on an apparatus that will allow greater control.
  • Number Two: He was hired by Xavier to be the new assistant headmaster after the split between the Professor and Magneto.
  • Reformed Criminal: Coming from a family of scoundrels and thieves, Sean is all too familiar with the criminal underworld. He knows how criminals think, operate, and prey upon others. He retains some criminal connections back in Ireland, but has put much of that life behind.
  • Required Secondary Powers: Sean can use his sonic powers as a form of SONAR (Sound Navigation and Ranging) or echolocation, similar to a bat. This allows Sean to effectively navigate in pure darkness or while blinded.
  • Significant Green-Eyed Redhead: He has auburn hair and green eyes and he's one of the oldest X-Men.
  • Sonic Stunner: Sean can emit a sonic pulse that has the ability to affect the fluid in others' inner ears which could cause sudden unconsciousness.
  • Super-Scream: His signature sonic scream, which his daughter Theresa inherited. Sean has the mutant ability to create powerful sonic waves with his voice with which he could archieve various effects, often with the assitance of complimentary psionic abilities which function only in unison with his sonic abilities.
  • Super-Senses: Sean's sense of hearing and equilibrium are reinforced to the point that not only he is immune to his sonic powers' effects (and similar powers), but he also has greater sense of hearing and equilibrium those of the average human.
  • White Sheep: He was considered this when compared to his notoriously troublemaking family.

    Dazzler (Alison Blaire)
Click for 1990s Civilian Look
  • Bare Midriffs Are Feminine: As a civilian she wears a tank top that shows her navel, which goes well with her status as a singer and music star.
  • Blinded by the Light: Which she calls Razzle-Dazzle. Alison has the ability to release all of her absorbed energy in one burst, creating an explosive lightshow. This tends to leave her exhausted but can severely affect others' equilibrium and may cause those blast radius to lose consciousness.
  • Energy Weapon: By concentrating, Alison can generate a coherent beam of light, similar to a laser (Light Amplification by Simulated Emission of Radiation), with which she can cut through virtually anything.
  • Hand Blast: Alison can generate a blast of concussive solid light. This can be a bolt (often projected from her fingertips, ala a "finger gun") or an orb that she can hurl like a baseball which then explodes outward, similar to a grenade.
  • Light 'em Up: When Alison has absorbed sonic vibrations, she can then release the stored energy, converting it into light in the process. She can control the light's brightness, color, and effect. She can produe numerous effects with the light she converts from sonic vibrations. She can create very simple patterns out of rays light like circles, squares, triangles, and stars. She has also been experimenting with creating simple holograms.
    • Alison can cause a bright glow all about her body to greate light in which to iluminate her environment. She can also leave touch something to leave a residual glow for a short period of time.
  • Missing Mom: Her mother Katherine Edwards committed suicide when Alison was very young.
  • The Power of Rock: Alison has the ability to transduce sonic vibrations which reach her body into various types of light — including a hard-light that hits with concussive force. This ability seems to operate over a great range of frequencies, including the audible spectrum (35 to 16,500 cycles per second), and a great variation of sound pressure levels regardless of the complexity, dissonance, or randomness of the sound. For example, a car crash and symphonic passage of equal duration will both produce usable incoming acoustic vibrations. However, as Alison is a musician, she does prefer the sound of music over a simple noise. Not only is music more pleasant to her ears, but the steady beat or popular music provides a more constant source of sound to convert.
  • The Rock Star: Due to her career as a musician, Alison has several skills she developed in the pursuit of fame and fortune (even though she has lost much of it due to contract violations and legal costs in the wake of her sudden disappearance to "focus on her education"). Alison is an accomplished singer, songwriter, dancer, and musical theorist. She also knows how to play several instruments, including guitar, the piano, and harmonica.

    Thunderbird (John Proudstar)
Click for 1990s Look
  • Badass Native: He's a proud Apache warrior and very powerful mutant. John is an expert outsdoorsman, proficient in tracking, hunting, and outdoor survival. He learned thse skills while camping with his father and refined them further during his military service. He is especially well-suited to desert survival.
  • Big Eater: John eats three to four times more than his peers to sustain himself.
  • Lightning Bruiser: He's huge, standing at an impressive 6'8"/2.032m tall, four times stronger than the average human and just as fast.
  • Military Superhero: Despite his young age, John has (illegally) served as a member of the United States Marine Corps. As a result of his training, John is an exceptional hand-to-hand combatant, marksman, knife-fighter. He is also trained in tactical analysis, basic strategy, and team maneuvers.
  • Promotion to Parent: After the death of his mother and the lack of care of his father made John become a father figure for his younger brother James and younger sister Bethany.
  • Super-Speed: John can run at forty-five miles per hour for several hours, through he prefers a slower pace of around thirty miles per hour to be more comfortable for long periods. Likewise, John's reflexes are three to four times faster than those of an average human.
  • Super-Strength: John is superhumanly strong. He can easily lift two tons without effort and can lift almost five times that when he strains himself. With the proper conditioning, it may be possible for John to lift nearly double or even triple that.
  • Super-Toughness: John's muscle tissue is, on average, three times as dense as that of a normal human being's and it's even thicker in its distribuition in his massive shoulders, arms, and thighs. His skin is also several times as dense as that of a normal human being's and includes an additional layer of thickm leathery epidermis. Due to the increased density of his skin and muscle tissues, John's body is considerably more resistant to physical injury than an ordinary human. Although far from invulnerable, John is capable of withstanding impact forces and blunt trauma that would have severely crippled or killed an ordinary human with only mild to moderate discomfort.
  • Younger Than They Look: He joined the Marines at only 16 years old, with his size and stength making it very easy to pass as older.

    Psylocke (Betsy Braddock)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/psylocke_earth_27m.jpg
Click for 1990s Look
  • Action Girl: While Betsy studied some basic self-defense prior to her encounter with the Chaste assassins, Betsy appears to now have become a full-on acrobatic martial arts prodigy. She believes this is a result of syphoning off or duplicating the skills of the younger Chaste assassin.
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: Her well-known and contrived backstory of ending up in the body of an assassin named Kwannon is changed to being naturally half-British and half-Japanese, and Kwannon herself is her mother.
  • Alliterative Name: Betsy Braddock, although her full name is Elizabeth.
  • Animal Motifs: Notably, when she makes use of her telepathic abilities a large butterfly-like array of psionic energy is usually cast over her face. Betsy may conceal this effect from taking place, but at the cost of some portion of her power being diminished.
  • Astral Projection: By projecting her astral form, Betsy's consciousness can travel the astral plane for remote-viewing. Ethereal possession of another is also possible through a form of psionic puppeteering by forcibly inserting her astral form into another's aura. Such possession tends to leave both Betsy and the target physically exhausted.
  • Blade Below the Shoulder: How she usually manifests her Psi-Blade.
  • Composite Character: Betsy is combined with Kwannon, the assassin with whom she exchanged bodies in the comics. Kwannon is even her middle name.
  • Curtains Match the Window: She has violet hair and violet eyes.
  • Dead Guy Junior: She was named after Elizabeth Braddock, her father's late first wife and the mother of her brother Jamie.
  • Laser Blade: Described by Charles Xavier as the focused totality of her psychic powers, Betsy can create psychic blades on her fists through the focused channeling of her psionic power. These blades are razor-sharp edges of pure mental energy which can use to cut through the matter of non-living objects, but only cut neural pathways and leave psychic damage to living beings.
  • Mind over Matter: Betsy can use her telekinesis to move small objects around her locality with ease. However, she seems particularly adept at using her telekinesis to give herself a boost of movement, launching her to greater heights and distances and propelling her forward at a quicker pace than she could archieve normally — making it appear quite the athlete and acrobat.
  • Missing Mom: Her mother Kwannon Hayashi disappeared one night after a confrontation with a man only known as Stick and his young female pupil.
  • Perception Filter: By broadcasting a telepathic suggestion, Braddock can mask her presence from others. With focus, she can extend this effect to others around her as well. This effect can work on other psionics, too.
  • Power Dyes Your Hair: Her once brown hair and her blue eyes turned violet when her mutation manifested.
  • Psi Blast: While making eye-contact with another, Betsy can send a lance of psychic energy into them which can cause severe pain, intense confusion, sudden unconsciousness, or potentially death.
  • Purple Is Powerful: She dresses in purple, her hair is violet, her eyes and even her lipstick are violet, and she's a very skilled telepath and fighter.
  • Related Differently in the Adaptation: Instead of full-siblings, Betsy and her brother Brian are the half-siblings of James "Jamie" Braddock Jr., sharing father but having different mothers.
  • Related in the Adaptation: In the comics Kwannon and Betsy had no relationship before exchanging bodies, but here Kwannon is her mother.
  • Soul-Cutting Blade: Attacks dealt by her Psi-Blade to living, organic beings do not leave any visible injury to their flesh, but will still slice through clothing all the same. Targets affected by Betsy's psychic damage experience emotional or illusionary pain roughly equivalent to the physical pain they would experience if Betsy had cut them with an actual steel blade. Targets might instead become stunned due to nerve damage or collapse into catatonic shock — possibly resulting in death. Secrets, thoughts, and memories may also become known to Betsy.
  • The Tease: Betsy likes to flirt and engage in laviscious behavior — with both male and female peers. In particular, she has her eyes on Scott and Warren.
  • Telepathy: Betsy is capable of reading and controlling others' thoughts. Her abilities to manipulate thoughts, prone for specific information, and alter memories is quite poor at the moment, but she shows promise. Her abilities work best when practiced on the weak-minded.

    Sunfire (Shiro Yoshida)
Click for 1990s Look
  • Barrier Warrior: Almost reflectively, Shiro can superheat the air around him to defensively melt incoming bullets or impair attacks against him. While he has to be aware of such attacks against him, this ability seems to trigger via subconscious self-preservation ability.
  • Broken Pedestal: He used to admire his uncle Tomo, until his grandfather told him he had killed his mother for going against the interests of the clan. And when his father took the bullet to protect him, Shiro used his powers to burn his uncle to ash.
  • Camera Fiend: Shiro is talented young shutterbug. He's got a good eye for the art and usually carries a camera and a few extra rolls of films on him at all times. He is especially tries to make it clear to anyone that catches him snapping his shots that he's not out to anything perverse, but...
  • Cast from Calories: Shiro burns though calories like no one's business when he's using his powers. Though he can survive on a average diet, if he is going to be using his powers at all, he'll need to binge eat substantially more.
  • Flying Firepower: Shiro can use his powers to create superheated air currents which push him forward through the air, enabling him to fly. Sometimes this super-heated air is visible as a trail of flame behind him. The upper limit to the speed Shiro can archieve in flight is not yet know, although it is known to be slightly faster than Warren — though Shiro cannot hover with any stability and lacks Warren's ability to make tight turns.
  • Otaku: Shiro is also an avid fan of Japanese comic books or "manga", with some of them being rather... shall, we say, explicit.
  • Orphan's Ordeal: His mother Hikari Homura was killed by his uncle for going against the wishes of the clan, and his father Saburo sacrificed himself to save Shiro from his uncle.
  • Playing with Fire: Shiro has the ability to project flames from his body, in different forms. This includes a tongue of flame, similar to that of a flamethrower, fireballs he can curl at some distance, or a wave blast of fire that emits a wider swath of destruction.
  • Required Secondary Powers: Shiro's body has seemingly adapted to prevent injury during the use of his ability. Shiro is completely unaffected by extreme heat, intense light, and such things such as friction. By merit of these physical changes, Shiro is significantly more resilient to physical injury than the average human.
  • Superpowerful Genetics: Shiro's family the Yoshida Clan has been producing mutants since his grandfather Ichiro married one, with his father, half-sister, uncle, aunt, and cousin all being mutants.
  • Wreathed in Flames: Not unlike the teenage celebrity adventurer Johnny Storm (more commonly known as the "Human Torch"), Shiro can envelope his body and clothing under several layers of radiation, the outermost layer of which is superheated to approximately 800° Fahrenheit.

    Forge (Jonathan Silvercloud)
Click for 1990s Look
  • Artificial Limbs: Forge lost his arm and leg while he was resisting arrest by some Sentinels.
    • Forge's prosthetic hand functions through complex cybernetic means. He is making modifications and improvements to the hand, often on the fly. He actually has severed hands engineered that he can swap out for different situations.
    • His artificial leg was built with salvaged parts he was able to scavenge from the SSD, so it tends to jam, causing Forge to walk with a noticeable limp. The right apparently has some hidden storage compartments as well as it's not uncommon for Forge to stop to roll up his pant leg and pull out a tool he needs for a quick, on-the-spot fix of a mansion appliance.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Forge can be a bit kooky. He tends to talk to himself, subscribes to a lot of conspiracy theories, and can suffer from blackouts from time-to-time.
  • Gadgeteer Genius/Super-Intelligence: Forge possesses an extraordinary intuitive talent for the principles of invention, mechanics, electronics, and creation. His mutant ability appears to function through perception, allowing him to visually discern the kinetic and potential energy present in mechanical systems. Once he has an idea for something, Forge can intuit what he needs to make it happen and can rapidly brainstorm solutions to jury-rig his contraptions with lesser parts if needed. Forge can also instinctively understand the potential and functional operations of any machine or technological device within his line of sight. Coupled with his natural intelligence, Forge can design, build, and operate mechanical devices, modify and disassemble existing technology, or create countermeasures for it. It is worth noting that Forge's talent does not necessarily make him a more exceptional inventor than renowned geniuses like Reed Richards, Tony Stark, or Hank McCoy as his subconscious mind works out many logical steps in the invention process. As a result, Forge may not be entirely aware of how he developed a particular invention, often needing to disassemble his creations to understand how they function.
  • Handicapped Badass: Even without his mutant ability, Forge is an all-around handy guy to have around, so Xavier and Moira have given him a job that he can usually figure how to fix or build just about anything. Combined with his mutant power, Forge can literally build just about anything that is possible — and maybe even some things that aren't.
  • Mysterious Past: He doesn't talk much about his childhood and early life, besides that he was born as a Cheyenne on a reservation in Lame Deer, Montana. It's not even certain "Jonathan Silvercloud" is his actual name.
  • Named by the Adaptation: In the comics, Forge's real name was never revealed, but here it's Jonathan Silvercloud.
  • Pornstache: He rocks the look.

    Jubilee (Jubilation Lee)
Click for 1990s Look
  • Badass Longcoat: She always wears her signature yellow coat.
  • Cool Shades: Her signature pink shades, which she usually wears over her eyes.
  • Everyone Hates Mathematics: Jubilee suffers from what is known as "dyscalculia", a learning disorder that affects a person's ability to understand number-based information and math. As a result, Jubilee struggles with numbers and math because she can't process math-related concepts in the same way others do.
  • Fatal Fireworks: Jubilee possesses the mutant ability to generate "fireworks" — or rather, explosive lumikinetic plasmoids. These globules of energy vary in power and intensity and can result in anything from a multitude of colorful sparkles (capable of temporarily blinding a person) to a rather powerful detonation capable of smashing tree trunks or overturning parked cars.
  • In-Series Nickname: Billie, Firecracker, Jubes, Jubi, Jujube.
  • Ironic Allergy: Jubilee has severe lactose intolerance. Though, this doesn't always stop her from indulging ice cream (parricularly milk shakes), fries slathered with melted cheese, or her favorite — chili cheese dogs. The digestive distress caused by this doesn't seem to bother Jubilee much, but those around her might have some complaints.
  • Kid Sidekick: Currently she serves as the sidekick of sorts for Wolverine, and they have an age difference of decades, so she's a kid by default.
  • Light 'em Up: Jubilee can use her powers to brighten the environment by emitting a series of globules around her. Though she must concentrate for this effect to persist, if she loses focus, the globules will quickly fade... or possibly explode.
  • Naturalized Name: Born in Hong Kong as Li Xilì, her name was changed to Jubilation Lee after her family moved to the USA when she was ten.
  • The Needless: Jubilee is, quite literally, a bundle of energy. In some regards, she is nuclear powered, even if she's not truly needless. She can go days without sleep (not that she'd want to, though) and can maintain her top running speed for several hours of nonstop activity.
  • Orphan's Ordeal: Her parents Zhan and Jinyi Lee were killed in a suspicious car accident, leaving her alone and in the care of Xavier's school.
  • She-Fu: Jubilation is an exceptional gymnast who is do backflips, somersaults, and balance on narrow beams wirh incredible ease. She can likewise vault over obstacles and swing from suspended bars and rings. She is by no means an Olympic athlete, but with little more training, she could be a solid contender for a medal someday.

    Aegis (Cecilia Reyes)
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cecilia_reyes_earth_27m.jpg
  • Barrier Warrior: Cecilia possessed the mutant ability to generate a bio-energy field around her body. This field can permeate anywhere from six inches and up to several feet from her body at all times. This field is always present and is usually invisible. However, upon the detection of a threat, this field suddenly manifests as a hardened field with glass-translucency to deflect the immediate threat. Cecilia can use this to shield others from harm provided they are close to her. The strength and durability of the energy field are directly propotional to Cecilia's concentration and emotional state. When fully focused, her bio-energy field can withstand high-impact forces, such as high caliber bullets, explosions, collisions with high-speed vehicles, and physical blows from being with enhanced strength. With concentration, the field can also be fine-tuned to allow certain objects or individuals to pass through, while still maintaining its overall integrity — however it requires intense concentration to override the field's subconscious trigger and intentionally allow a threat.
    • Cecilia can manipulate her bio-energy field to create various shapes and constructs, such as walls, platforms, and simple objects. While her primary focus is on protection, Cecilia can also use her force field offensively by willing it into powerful energy blasts or externding it outwards to repel opponents.
  • Disappeared Dad: Her father Alejandro Reyes was killed during a gang drive-through after he was mistaken for a rival gang member.
  • Hospital Hottie: She's a very attractive female doctor.
  • Hyper-Awareness: When Cecilia's bio-field isn't triggered by a threat, its dormant state acts as a sort of sensor or radar field in her presence, constantly scanning her immediate surroundings for perceived threats. Though the passive perceptive aspect of this ability is laser focuses on possible threats, Cecilia can tap into it to give her heightened alertness to the area around her. Using this, she can perform extremely accurate diagnostic scans of her patients in the field without equipment or scan a small crime scene for possible clues in a handful of seconds.
  • Named by the Adaptation: She's given the codename "Aegis", when she never had any alias that properly stuck in the comics.
  • The Medic: As a trained medical doctor and novice trauma surgeon, Cecilia has extensive knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical procedures. She is skilled in daignosing and treating a wide range of illnesses and injuries, as well as performing surgery when necessary.
  • Refused the Call: At first she was uninterested in Xavier's offer of better understanding her abilities, until a gunshot victim attacked her and triggered her powers, making her join Xavier as a medic.
  • Smart People Wear Glasses: She wears glasses and is a very capable doctor and surgeon.
  • The Social Expert: Born and raised in the Bronx, Cecilia Reyes has a deep love and appreciation for the diverse and resilient community that shaped her upbringing. She understands the unique challengers faces by the people of the Bronx and similar communities, which allows her to connect with them on a personal level.
  • Twofer Token Minority: She's half-African American and half-Puerto Rican.

    Bishop (Lucas Bishop)
Click for 1990s Look
  • Adaptational Backstory Change: Due to the absence of alternate timelines and alternate universes, Bishop originates on the main 27M reality.
  • Badass Longcoat: In civilian clothes he wears an impressive long coat, fitting his backstory as a member of SSD.
  • Facial Markings: He still has an 'M' tattooed on his face, marking him as a mutant.
  • Manly Facial Hair: He keeps his signature goatee and he's pretty manly.
  • Real Name as an Alias: His name is Lucas Bishop and his codename is... Bishop.
