Cookies in General

  • Alice Allusion: Five Cookies have costumes based off Alice in Wonderland, these are: Strawberry (Kitty Punk/Cheshire Cat), Zombie (Creepy Cute/Alice), Pirate (Rabbit Hat/White Rabbit), Knight (Ace of Spades), and Princess (Princess of Hearts).
  • Amazing Technicolor Population: Most of the cookies look like they're made from gingerbread dough, with some having a darker or lighter tan in their dough color than others, but others look like they are made from sugar cookie or shortbread cookie dough (like Cream Puff Cookie, Peppermint Cookie, and Milk Cookie), double chocolate cookie dough (like Cocoa Cookie, Mint Choco Cookie, and Dark Choco Cookie), or even cookie dough with uncanny food colorings (like purple for Purple Yam Cookie, green for Wind Archer Cookie, black for Squid Ink Cookie, blue for Lobster Cookie, light gray for Truffle Cookie, and orange for Fire Spirit Cookie (to name a few examples)).
  • Anthropomorphic Food: They're mostly gingerbread people (or variations that are made from sugar, shortbread, or double chocolate cookie dough instead of gingerbread dough). Exceptions include a shape-shifting marshmallow fox (Kumiho Cookie), a cookie robot (Ion Cookie Robot), a few dragons (The Dragons Of Legends), a magical unicorn (Cream Unicorn Cookie), mer-cookies (Sorbet Shark Cookie), a trio of cookie animals (The Cookiemals), and an alien doughnut (Space Doughnut).
  • Awesome, but Impractical: Cookies that rely on certain power-up jellies or potions. While their point output and speed can be very easy to high-score with, the fact that they require certain jellies hinders them immensely in multiple lands. It can be downplayed or averted with certain pets, combi bonuses, or treasures.
  • Badass Adorable: Comes with the art style.
  • Chess Motif: A few cookies have chess outfits: Yoga (Enlightened Bishop), Pistachio (Virtuous Knight), Mala Sauce (Unyielding Rook), Alchemist (Guileful Queen) and Vampire (Insouciant King). Chess Choco Cookie is (obviously) based on chess too.
  • Coat Cape: Several cookies that have coats (which are included in most alternate costumes) wear them in this manner.
  • Edible Theme Naming: For the most part. Comes with the word "Cookie" (or "Doughnut" in Space Doughnut's case).
  • Full-Name Basis: Virtually all characters with referred to by their full names, ending with "Cookie".
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: Some cookies (Gingerbrave, Cocoa Cookie, Cinnamon Cookie, etc...) in Puzzle World will make puppy eyes telling the player to try again.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: Almost all cookies have a tie-in pet that gives them a bonus and complements their abilities.

NPC

Hidden Hermit

Here's another top tip!
  • Ambiguous Gender: We don’t even know their full face, what hope for the gender?
  • Paper-Thin Disguise: They may look different from any other Cookie, but their subtle hint of a face may tell otherwise...

Police Cookie

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/police_cookie.png
The Cop Cookie is watching you!

    Introduced in OvenBreak

Artichoke Cookie

He-ey! Just follow your vibe!

A little cookie that loves playing the drum, he plays it all the time - even in his sleep!

Bacon Cookie

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/bacon_standard.png
Bacon. Eggs. Milk. The perfect breakfast!

Sandwich Cookie's partner, and partook in the Battle of Fates for the Battle Run update.

Butterbear Cookie

The owner of the Merrybear Toy Shop, and an old friend of Eggnog Cookie.

Choco Cup Cookie

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/chococuppy.png
Such enthusiasm and energy! I can't wait to see what you've prepared!

The ringmaster of the Pudding Cup Circus.

  • Non-Standard Character Design: Unlike other Cookies, he has a cupcake like appearance, along with a more bear-like face. It's implied to be a costume.

Enthusiastic Youngster

Jelly Serpent Cookie (aka Jellydusa)

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/naga_standard.png

The serpentine cookie-creature in charge of the summoning of Invocation Cards.

  • Ambiguous Gender: Has not been referred to by any pronouns yet.
  • Ambiguously Cookie: While their design still has cookie parts to it, they're only partly so in nature (similar to Fig Cookie and Sorbet Shark Cookie’s true form).
  • Animal Eyes: Snake eyes, natch.
  • Badass Armfold: Has an extra pair of arms that are constantly in this position
  • Medusa: An Expy of her, as shown through their snake-composed hair and serpentine nature. Unlike her, however, they don't have a petrifying gaze or visage.
  • Mythical Motifs: The most obvious one being of Gorgons (specifically Medusa). The other one being of the Nagas: divine half-human, half-snake creatures who hail primarily from Hindu, Buddhist and Jain mythology.
  • Non-Standard Character Design: Their top half is cookie, while their bottom half is a long jelly snake tail. Their hair is composed of more snakes too, and they don't sport the same pupil-less eyes as most cookies.
  • Ornamental Weapon: As of now Jelly Serpent doesn't use the staff that they hold all the time for actual combat, only really using it when summoning Invocation Cards. It is implied that they did use it at some point before their imprisonment, in order to defend the Naga’s Heart from thieves and treasure hunters.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: Played straight, then subverted. For most of Chapter 5, Jelly Serpent Cookie is believed to be a terrifying beast who kills anyone who nears the temple where the Naga’s Heart is kept...but it turns out that they’re actually just the Temple’s guardian, who was chained up and imprisoned in the temple for unknown reasons. Not to mention that most of the people who did try to obtain the Naga’s Heart were just looking to sell it off for profit or make it a centrepiece of their collections.
  • Snake People: A snake cookie to be exact, sporting both snake hair and a snake's body from the waist down.
  • Supernormal Bindings: Subverted: the chains tying them down in the temple are just regular chains that Lilac Cookie easily breaks with his chakrams. The main trouble in freeing them was trying to get them to stay still in the first place so Lilac could aim properly.

Laurel Cookie

A master archivist introduced alongside Ovenbreak’s revamped Champion’s League.

Lollipop Cookie

Butterbear Cookie's young assistant.

Piñata Cookie

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/181_32.png
Tough time? HAVE A CANDY!

Piñata Cookie is anything if energetic, unable to sit still for a moment and always wanting to have fun with her friends.

  • Hero of Another Story: Like Artichoke Cookie, she is not playable in the Ovenbreak (as yet), but is playable in another game.
  • Only Friend: To Cream Unicorn Cookie due to her being their only visitor of the deserted Cookieland before events in Dreamy Cookieland.

Mangosteen Cookie

  • Ambiguous Gender: Uses no pronouns in the story. Downplayed, as Mangosteen Cookie's true form, Lychee Dragon Cookie, uses they/them pronouns.
  • Bitch in Sheep's Clothing: Lychee Dragon Cookie’s reveal trailer reveals that Mangosteen Cookie is actually Lychee Dragon Cookie in disguise.
  • Compelling Voice: Every time they say, "You'll [verb] with me, won't you?" everyone around them immediately obeys.
  • Mind Manipulation: Given how they’re actually Lychee Dragon Cookie in disguise, they can brainwash people in the form of a question; that's how they got Rambutan Cookie's tribe to put their full trust in them.

Plain Yogurt Cookie

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/plainyogurt_standard.png
Ah, brother! I've missed you! Look at you, slowly becoming a grown Cookie!
Yogurt Cream Cookie's older brother.
  • Cain and Abel: The Cain to Yogurt Cream's Abel.
  • Small Role, Big Impact: He's only in a few sections of Chapter 5 but it's he who connects both Lilac Cookie and Scorpion Cookie together. Particularly in that he contracted Lilac to murder his little brother.
  • The Unfavorite: Implied given how Yogurt Cream will be the one inheriting their father's fortune.

Pumpkin Cookie

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/pump.png
The owner of Pumpkin Cookie's Appraisal.

Curator Emmental Cheese

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/c69e9e78_ac76_40c6_84b3_f4464263910c.png
RUINATION! I am trapped within a nightmare!
The curator of the Hors D'Oeuvre Museum.
  • Anthropomorphic Food: A giant wedge of emmental cheese, to be specific.
  • Comical Overreacting: Is very dramatic, as his image quote shows when faced with the destroyed painting in part 2 of The Butter Painting Affair.
  • Nonstandard Character Design: Holds the honor of being the only NPC that is not a cookie nor a pet. Even Choco Cup Cookie is a cookie in a costume—Emmental Cheese is straight up a wedge of cheese.

Red Cheerleader Cookie

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/red_cheerleader_cookie.png
What a match! So much energy! And passion!
Rival to Cheerleader Cookie in the Island of Memories. Appears again in Costume Gacha cutscene.

  • Five-Second Foreshadowing: During the Costume Gacha cutscene, her and her team (alongside Cheerleader Cookie and her team) appears on screen pulling out the red carpet. You will guarantee to have an Ultra-Rare Costume very soon.
  • Graceful Loser: Accepts her defeat in Cheer-Off against Cheerleader Cookie and her team.
  • The Rival: To Cheerleader Cookie, as she serves as the boss for Cheerleader Cookie's Island Of Memories.
