Did someone say "Run"? Let's go!

Click here to see him in Cookie Run: Kingdom

”Ha ha! Adventures await!”
Class (Cookie Run: Kingdom): Charge
Position: Front
Skill: Brave Dash
Released in: Version 1.0 (Launch of Cookie Run: Kingdom)

The main hero and protagonist of the Cookie Run games. He is the most famous creation of The Witch and has made it his goal in life to lead his fellow cookies to a paradise that they can call home. Even he may not look like much, there is most definitely more to him than meets the eye! He encountered all sorts of friends and enemies, went on all sorts of new and exciting adventures, and had put the forces of evil in their place time and time again! Not bad for a cookie who doesn't have much in the way of special abilities all on his own, right?

Upgrades increase his energy level and his braveness (in both LINE Cookie Run and Ovenbreak). In Ovenbreak, he received a Magic Candy that increased his bravery that allows him to briefly knock away obstacles.

In Kingdom, GingerBrave is a Charge Cookie placed at the front, and his skill is called Brave Dash. GingerBrave charges forward, dealing area damage to anyone in his way.

  • The Anti-Nihilist: In his talk with White Lily Cookie, he says that learning the truth about Cookies won't change who he is or having adventures with his friends. This is enough to convince her to start atoning for her mistakes.
GingerBrave: I never really thought about that. After all, knowing that won't really change the lives of my friends and me![...] I don't think I need a "special reason" to enjoy life the way I see it! I'm free to choose what I run for and where I'm running towards! That way, the adventure never ends!
  • Arch-Enemy: Just as much as he makes friends, GingerBrave also ended up making enemies (especially Arc Villain).
Dark Enchantress Cookie (About GingerBrave)(Tension): ...hmpf!
Timekeeper Cookie (About GingerBrave)(Tension): You were a meaningless variable in the future I saw...
Chess Choco Cookie (About GingerBrave)(Tension): We're gonna win! We will win.
Earl Grey Cookie (About GingerBrave)(Tension): I was unaware this would happen.
  • 2D Visuals, 3D Effects: During an April Fools day event in Ovenbreak, one of the rewards was a costume for Gingerbrave that replaced his usual artwork with pre-rendered 3D sprites.
  • Badass Normal: Other than his bravery, he's just a normal cookie. That said, his tenacity has still managed to gain him the ire of several of the Arc Villains, up to an including a literal time god.
  • Battle Cry: "Here I come!"
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: He fell victim to Lychee Dragon Cookie's brainwashing in the wraparound story of The Isle Of Awakening Dragons. Fortunately, he gets better after Mala Sauce Cookie, Rambutan Cookie, and the others put Lychee Dragon in their place by destroying their rod that they used as part of their scheme in brainwashing the members of Rambutan Cookie's tribe.
  • Character Blog: From January 6, GingerBrave has an actual Twitter account on which he often posts photos of his daily life with friends in both Kingdom and Ovenbreak, together with collaboration infos.
  • Charlie Brown Baldness
  • Cutting the Knot: In the "Dangerous Exchange" event, instead of playing chess with Chess Choco Cookie to get their king into checkmate, he proceeds to just tackle the King piece down. It works.
  • Expy: Of The Gingerbread Man, obviously!
  • Famed In-Story: The Kingdom 3rd Anniversary Story reveals that a train that travels through the World of Dreams is now named GingerBrave Express.
  • Heart Is an Awesome Power: His only power is his kindness and bravery, and yet this is what makes him so valuable as a Cookie.
  • The Hero: He is the main central protagonist (and mascot) of the Cookie Run universe, always featured and taking a major role in every media and game involved.
  • The Leader: Often takes the most assertive role to lead the plot going.
  • Lethal Joke Character: In Kingdom, he is a Common Cookie with poor stats and a low damaging skill. However, he is a key component in a potent crowd control team with Tiger Lily Cookie and Kumiho Cookie, which is surprisingly effective.
  • Medium Awareness: In Kingdom World 17, he makes note that the Cookies of the Golden City have weird speech bubbles (being rectangular, cyan and having gold borders). This is one of the first hints that the Golden Cheese Kingdom is in a virtual reality.
  • Nice Guy: Gingerbrave is a friendly and loyal cookie who won’t hesitate to jump into danger to save those he cares about.
  • Nude-Colored Clothes: Even with his latest Ovenbreak costume. The description lampshades this.
But...is he really dressed? Is he?
    • Licorice Cookie uses this to backfire him when GingerBrave calls him "Old Rags Cookie".
  • Starter Mon: The first of the Common Units given for free in Cookie Run Kingdom, and introducing the Charge class role.
  • The Team Normal: His special ability in Ovenbreak is listed as how brave he is, which doesn't have any effect on gameplay whatsoever.
  • The Tease: No, really! He's done this ONCE in a gingerbrave_dev post. What's worse is that Devsisters actually forgot to keep in mind that he's a child, what are the fan's reactions, you might ask?
"BRAVE NOOOOOOO YOURE TOO YOUNG TO BE DOING THIS"
  • Took a Level in Badass: For Ovenbreak's 4th birthday, he received a magic candy (Yes, a Common Cookie gets a Magic Candy!) that allows him to knock away obstacles for a short time.
    • In Kingdom, he is a Charger - the class of front line melee fighters - whose signature ability pushes the enemy front line away from other cookies while also dealing damage.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: He tells Clotted Cream Cookie about how White Lily Cookie is Dark Enchantress Cookie in the Council of Heroes story. This leads to Clotted Cream using this information to further pressure the Ancient Heroes into giving up their Soul Jam, and ends up creating a rift between the three Ancients due to Pure Vanilla Cookie not telling the truth about White Lily sooner.
  • Vocal Dissonance: Has a deeper voice in the English dub.

I wanna explore the big wide world!

A smart, optimistic girl and GingerBrave's best friend. She came into existence by the very same Witch who created GingerBrave and could even be something of a girlfriend or sister to him given their origins. In Cookie Run: Ovenbreak, she serves as the deuteragonist of the adventures of GingerBrave and his friends, even doing a lot of good in the grand scheme of things alongside her companions, but in Cookie Run: Kingdom, for reasons unknown, she is nowhere to be found.

She boosts experience gained in LINE Cookie Run by a percentage that increases with upgrades. In Ovenbreak, her power is different; Candy Jelly appears while she is running, and upgrades increase the frequency at which those jellies appear.

  • Brainy Brunette: She's the brains compared to GingerBrave and has brown hair.
  • Cute Witch: Her halloween costume has her depicted as such.
  • Distaff Counterpart: To Brave Cookie/Gingerbrave.
  • Genki Girl: Her characterization in Witch's Castle shows her to be very energetic and easily excitable. A little too excitable.
  • Meaningful Name: She is named Bright in two ways. One, she is incredibly smart. Two, she is incredibly optimistic.
  • Nightmare Fetishist: In Witch's Castle, she's a little too blase regarding Cookies becoming stale. Additionally, she adores a carnivorous plant that she believes to be a "flower".
  • Out of Focus: Despite being Distaff Counterpart to Gingerbrave, in games other than Ovenbreak, Gingerbright tends not to appear as an in-story playable character at the beginning of those, nor as one of the first Cookies Gingerbrave meets (that role is often filled in by Strawberry Cookie). Averted in Witch's Castle where she'll be one of the main characters.
  • The Smart Girl: Half of her existence is the brain, mind you. As such, she can find a way to gain extra XP every time and think of gazillion other solutions for the situation.
