The White Knight is a light-latex goo creature that appears at the beginning of the game. As soon as Colin solves the puzzle to unlock the doors and escape the Cryo-Prison warehouse area, it emerges from a room, to chase the Human into the Ming Cat's room.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: The beast gives Colin a heart emoji Pictorial Speech-Bubble upon first sight. The feeling is not mutual.
  • Entitled to Have You: White Knight will not accept any other latex experiment absorbing its prey away from right under its nose, and will force a 'transfurmation fusion' in order to claim Colin. If it swallows up Colin before the white latex Blob Monster does, it will refuse to share him.
  • The Goomba: It's the first mandatory anthropomorphic enemy you face in the game. The Noob Cave encounter is a Wake-Up Call for players that there will be many threats like this monster that give chase, and must be escaped from to progress.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: White Knight desires to become a centaur-like creature after assimilating Colin. If a white latex puddle captures the human first, the beast undeterred, will force a 'transfurmation fusion' where all three beings become one exotic alien-like entity with Extra Eyes.
  • Our Centaurs Are Different: It walks around on hoof-like legs like a satyr instead of on canine paws. If it successfully consumes Colin, the adolescent's body becomes the legs of a quadrupedal, but White Knight grows an additional pair of upper-body arms. The end result is a six-limbed dog resembling a centaur.
  • Please, Don't Leave Me: If Colin escapes, it bangs on the sealed door wanting to be let in. The young man hopes the door holds against the monster's attempts to force its way in through the gaps.
  • Teleporting Keycard Squad: This enemy doesn't appear until the door puzzle is solved and the game autosaves.
  • Was Once a Man: The monster bursts out of the adjacent room next to Colin's Cryo-Prison, meaning it was one of the five remaining human test subjects before the white latex blobs broke in through the ventilation ducts.

    Ming Cat

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/mingcat_anthro.png
The Ming cat is a small brown tabby variegated-latex cat encountered in a storage room early in the game.

    Dark Latex Wolves

Dark Latex Wolves

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dark_wolves.png
A Hive Mind of dark-latex wolf-like creatures that serve as Patrolling Mooks in the game. They mainly roam, guard, and patrol the Offices.
  • All of the Other Reindeer: Puro was once one of them, but even as a pup, he began rejecting their company in favor of reading books in the library to learn about human history and civilization. This enraged the Hive Mind of wolves who won't allow him to return to their family.
  • The Assimilator: The sexes of this species have different behaviours. Females always envelope Colin and pull him in, feeling very pleased with themselves when they get a Breast Expansion. Males will force a 'transfurmation' upon the human through a Pelvic Thrust.
  • Blind Obedience: Almost all of them are completely loyal to the Wolf King, to the point that upon getting transfurred during his boss fight, Colin starts moving his arms in the same worship dance all of the nearby Dark-Latex Wolves are doing. This ends up backfiring when Colin defeats the Wolf King, and all of them sit there stunned and do nothing to stop the human from progressing.
  • Blind Without 'Em: Fortunately for Colin, their retinas aren't well-developed so they can't see so good in the dark. This allows him to sneak past the groups, so long as he doesn't bump into them, or run.
  • Clone by Conversion: The male dark latex will transfur Colin into an exact copy of himself should he get caught by it.
  • Due to the Dead: The wolves have made a cemetery in the Offices. Any dark-latex without a human host, will undergo a regeneration cycle where they revert into a crystalline form, that gives birth to a new generation of pups. Even though these artificial creatures cannot technically "die", they still love and care about each other to want to honor the memory of their former bodies.
  • Failed a Spot Check: To slip past them more easily in the Special Edition, Colin can wear a badly-made disguise Puro prepared for him. It fools all the goo monsters present (except for the Wolf King, who monitors Colin's progress on the office cameras).
  • Hive Drone: All the bipedal wolves are controlled by their wolfpack leader, the Wolf King.
  • It Can Think: They know how to use the restrooms near the offices, and understand the cultural degree of separation between males and females who want to use the facilities. Only they lack a human digestive tract, so still shed their latex goo all over the floors anyway.
  • "Join Us" Drone: If Colin stupidly puts on a dark-latex crystal mask found on a desk, he will be assimilated, and the last thing he hears in his mind are all the wolves calling him to join them in their Hive Mind forever.
  • Keystone Army: They depend on the Wolf King for orders. When he gets knocked out by his own latex container he tries to drop on Colin, the wolves can only look on sheepishly and don't try to assimilate Colin.
  • Logical Weakness: Dr. K's attempt to aid them by outing Colin as an imposter fails, as they're all mindless animals who don't understand human language and thus have no clue what he's saying.
  • Patrolling Mook: They diligently guard the offices for any intruders, because all are Instakill Mooks this forces Colin into a Stealth-Based Game against them. If he runs, moves in their direct line of sight when the lights are on, or accidentally collides into them, they will catch him.
  • You Will Not Evade Me: If Colin runs out of the men's restroom, and doesn't hide, a male wolf will chase after him through several rooms, until he is finally assimilated.

    Yu Feng Dragons

Yu Feng Dragons

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yu_feng_dragons.png
Dragon-like dark latex beasts found just past the Wolf King. They're led by the Elder One and act as his loyal minions in the Hive Mind.
  • Adults Are More Anthropomorphic: The adult Yu fengs are more humanoid, with larger torsos, smaller wings, and longer arms and legs.
  • The Assimilator: They try to assimilate Colin so they can gain a body, but they follow Fearful Symmetry, allowing potential escape.
  • Glass Smack and Slide: One of them chases after Colin all the way to the Greenhouse, along with two other variegated-latex beasts. But they're all coming in from outside and don't see the solid glass windows until it's too late.
  • Fearful Symmetry: They move one space at a time just like Colin, and will only move when he moves.
  • Hive Drone: They act as direct servants to the Elder One, and are directly under his control if his boss fight proves anything.
  • Inescapable Ambush: Subverted. All are Lightning Bruisers capable of capturing Colin in seconds, giving him no chance to proceed past their crystal terrority. However, Puro's promise to their king is their Morality Chain. Were it not for the dark-latex wolf begging them long ago, the human wouldn't stand a chance in getting to the library.
  • Multiple Head Case: When an adult Yu feng 'transfurs' Colin, they become one being with two heads, with one presumably still being Colin while the other is the Yu feng.
  • My Master, Right or Wrong: They all want to absorb Colin very badly and ascend up the Fantastic Caste System faster within in the Hive Mind, but all obey their Hive King, the Elder One without question. Said dragon king is doing all this to keep his promise to Puro in granting the human safe passage.
  • Pet the Dog: Colin is slowly succumbing to the Pale Virus and fatigue from not eating since he woke out of Cryo-Prison. He faints just yards from the library door. The Yu Feng Dragons kindly carry him to the lobby and thoughtfully pick some oranges out for him to eat, before sealing off their lair.
  • Rapid Aging: The cubs seem to grow into adults via 'transfurring' humans, as evidenced by the 'transfurred' Colin looking almost identical to an adult Yu feng. Because of this, they can become adults in mere seconds.
  • Rogue Drone: One of the juveniles doesn't appear to be following Elder One's orders. It immediately pounced upon Colin before he entered their terrority proper. The little one chases after Colin when he's long departed, only to Glass Smack and Slide against the Greenhouse windows.

    Yu Feng Box Puppies

Yu Feng Box Puppies

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yu_feng_box_puppies.png
Smaller wingless Yu feng cubs that move around under boxes, in the Special Edition. Unlike the dark-latex dragons encountered earlier, these critters seem very playful.
  • Ambiguously Related: Their shape and appearance are quite similar to the Cone Lizards and Leaf Latexes, being a giant solid coloured lizard with a long tail it stands on.
  • Bully Hunter: Should the human survive their game, he enters another room where light-latex wolf cubs ambush him (though they slide on all fours on the slippery floor as well). Colin retreats and they give chase back to the server room. The baby dragons are delighted to see Colin again (thinking they're going to have another round), but the wolf cubs are in no mood for games and try to bully their way past. This angers the dark-latex beasts who surround them. Colin decides wisely not to get involved.
  • Chest Monster: Until they 'transfur' Colin, they just look like moving boxes. Some even disguise themselves as other things like the computer consoles.
  • Combat Referee: The little dragons that are well-hidden in the server cabinets do not attack Colin. Their role is to make sure the human doesn't go out-of-bounds in their game, and everyone abides by the rules. When the Light-Latex pups intrude, harassing the Dark-latex babies to get at Colin, they become angry and group up.
  • Fearful Symmetry: They mimic Colin's movement from under their boxes, but all this is merely a game to them instead of obeying The Elder One's command.
  • Killer Rabbit: The little ones are all Ridiculously Cute Critters but very dangerous. Colin only has to touch them ever so slightly and their deadly mirror game is over before it started.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: The babies are happy to see Colin returning, (not knowing he's fleeing from white latex pups in pursuit) and brush up against him, wanting another game but with no stakes involved. The white latexes spoil their fun and incur their wrath.
  • Obstructive Code of Conduct: The baby dragons hiding in the recycled cardboard boxes not only prevent Colin from retreating but also give him a fighting chance to solve their puzzles. By tapping them, the man will be surprised to find the others have "reset" back to their starting positions in the server rooms.
  • Our Dragons Are Different: Flightless and small, they act and move more like dogs playing in cardboard boxes, than mythical beasts of legend.
  • Prehensile Tail: Upon 'transfurring' Colin, they have the mass go to their tail, using it as a stand for themselves.
  • Why Isn't It Attacking?: Colin quickly finds out all the Yu feng dragon minions follow this rule instead of surrounding him. This is because Elder One is keeping his promise to Puro. Even the baby dragons in the Special Edition follow this Obstructive Code of Conduct by hiding in boxes throughout the server rooms, and playfully force the human to a mirror game against them.

    Light Latex Pups

Light Latex Pups

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/white_latex_cubs1.png
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/white_latex_cubs5.png
Small light-latex canine creatures that antagonize Colin and the dark-latex Box Puppies in the game's Special Edition. They can be found in the Server area and one of the Decontainment rooms.
  • Adults Are More Anthropomorphic: They seem to be young light-latex pups who age up by assimilating humans, as their appearance after "transfurring" Colin is remarkably similar to the appearance of the adult light-latex drones found in the Latex Jungle.
  • And I Must Scream: The transfur from just one catching Colin implies he's still self-aware. While he can still move, he's left to poke at his featureless face in horror, now seemingly incapable of seeing or speaking at all.
  • Animal Jingoism: Despite both groups being young pups, they openly antagonise the dark-latex Box Puppies and refuse to play along with their game, angrily forcing one out of the way when it inadvertently blocks them, protecting Colin.
  • Artificial Stupidity: In the disinfection room, they have no pathfinding and will attempt to run straight towards Colin, even if it means uselessly running into a traffic cone.
  • The Assimilator: All of them seek to merge with Colin into an adult light-latex creature.
  • The Blank: If just one "transfurs" Colin, he has no facial features post-transfur, and is left to poke at his featureless face in horror.
  • Block Puzzle: Colin's first encounter with them is in one of the decontamination rooms. The electronic locked doors will deny him entry to the next area, until he activates the disinfection system. After doing so, two of them burst out of two ventilation ducts to assimilate him. To survive, he has to arrange the traffic cones on the floor to block the cubs. The best approach for these critters, is to make a "horseshoe" of the cones and by staying down at the bottom of the room, Colin can lure them into it.
  • Exit, Pursued by a Bear: As soon as the game warns you the four cubs searching for humans have noticed you, Colin's got to quickly retreat back through the door on the left, to the dark-latex Box Puppies.
  • Kiss of Death: If two of them transfur into Colin, a second torso and head will pull itself out of the still struggling transfurred Colin's chest, before administering a long kiss that forces its goo down his throat and a Death of Personality upon him. The result is the former-human panting happily out of his mouth. The transfur screen depicts the latex beast with two heads, both eagerly hunting humans.
  • The Klutz: These pups aren't very bright, and often forget they can't run across the dark-latex areas, since their paws have no adhesion on the crystalline frictionless surfaces. Two of the beasts that give chase when they see Colin comedically slide on the floor.
  • Light Is Not Good / White Latex, Black Heart: Unlike their dark-latex wolf pup counterparts, which are friendly until they reach adulthood, and just want a cuddle, any light-latex that's bigger than a tiny blob, is dangerous to touch.
  • Minor Living Alone: They seem to live like this, as they appear in both the dark-latex's territory and the disinfection room, both far from the latex jungle, and never appear with any adult light-latex beasts.
  • Oh, Crap!: The four of them that invade the dark-latex territory are helpless and terrified when they incur the wrath of the Box Puppies for messing up their intended second game with Colin.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Despite being great hunters and easily being able to knock away a dark-latex Box Puppy, they're incapable of knocking or jumping over a traffic cone, which allows Colin to easily navigate the disinfection room.

    Traffic Cone Lizards

Traffic Cone Lizards

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/traffic_cone_goo.png
Yellow lizard-like mimetic variegated-latex creatures that can disguise themselves as traffic cones to trap prey in the Special Edition.
  • Ambiguously Related: Its shape and appearance are quite similar to the Box Puppies and Leaf Latexes, being a giant solid coloured lizard with a long tail it stands on.
  • The Assimilator: If Colin exits a puzzle room while still carrying a traffic cone, it'll awaken and 'transfur' him into a yellow lizard-like creature.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: When it reveals its body when Colin removes it, it has no nose nor eyes. Its head merely contains a large mouth and tongue, and nothing else.
  • Chest Monster: They take the form of traffic cones, but will transfur Colin should he attempt to carry one of them outside of the decontamination chambers.
  • Cuddle Bug: If Colin manages to pull it off when it tries to 'transfur' him, it'll be too late. He's now infected with light-latex goo and transforms into a canine creature. Undeterred, the monster settles for hugging him and resting on his shoulders instead.
  • Never Recycle Your Schemes: It doesn't need to attempt to morph into other objects to trick its prey, as the cones are mandatory for Colin in avoiding assimilation by other light-latex monsters emerging out of the vents.
  • Objectshifting: The beast is a wake-up call to the player that the monsters are able to shapeshift into everyday seemingly-harmless objects, and nastily this thing is encountered before Yuin.
  • Obvious Rule Patch: They exist as enemies so that Colin can't carry a traffic cone through the entire lab and punish the player that tries to bypass the decontamination monster puzzle sections too quickly.
  • Prehensile Tail: Upon 'transfurring' Colin, they have the mass go to their tail, using it as a stand for themselves.

    Crows

Crows

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/crows2.png
A murder of dark-latex small crows flying outside the tower complex's balconies, near the Library.
  • Airborne Mook: By virtue of flight, the crows are unencumbered by the Snow Leopard's box maze that Colin must navigate outside.
  • Animal Testing: Averted. It seems these creatures weren't brought in for the Genetic Project testing (as using avian creatures would be dangerous to contain), but normal birds infected by the latex goo escaping the tower After the End. They're now forming new ecosystems as they spread around the cities' skies unchecked.
  • Bird People: If the creatures successfully hit Colin, he will be 'transfurred' into a bird-like humanoid monster.
  • Feathered Fiend: They swoop in patterns and can catch Colin if he boxes himself in by mistake. Crows were very annoying enemies in the original game, as their attack is homing in on the player. Anyone who isn't quick enough with the Snow Leopard's box maze gets cut-off and trapped by the birds. Getting caught by one of these later on, would mean having to do Kade's second chase all over again. In the Special Edition they fly in wave patterns which are much easier to avoid.
  • Glass Smack and Slide: Later in the game as Colin explores the Greenhouse area, one of the crows along with various dark and light winged latex creatures from outside come swooping in, only to comically collide with the solid glass windows. Dr. K admires the beast's determination to assimilate Colin, but not their stupidity.

    Circle

Circle

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/changed_kade.png
A Blob Monster fox-like variegated-latex creature that creeps along the ceilings of the Library and Doctor K's laboratory.
  • Asian Fox Spirit: Like Shizi and Kade, it's completed form is an anthropomorphic fox with Facial Markings.
  • Blob Monster: Circle's too slow to pursue prey like most monsters can on or along the ground, so cunningly tries to stalk and catch any humans by moving across the ceilings, and split itself up into multiple latex blobs to trap Colin.
  • Boss in Mook Clothing: Circle was by far, the most annoying enemy in the original game. Due to the way the game's engine works, the monster could exploit Hitbox Dissonance and absorb the player not even occupying the same tile as it. Thankfully, the Special Edition addressed this problem by having them patrolling a fixed area, instead of homing in on you constantly.
  • Ceiling Cling: They hang from the ceiling in groups, that split up or regroup, as they slowly follow after you. Due to the cramped layout of the rooms they'll easily cut off your path, and give you no chance to retreat, if you're not careful. In the Special Edition they patrol a fixed-area, making them less troublesome to deal with.
  • Creator Cameo: In the original game some of its "transfurs" would result in Colin changing into the developer's very fursona, DragonSnow.
  • Death from Above: If Colin walks under its shadow, it will instantly fall onto him, and he's doomed.
  • Fantastic Livestock: Circle was raised among others by Puro, who found out they all tasted terrible. After that, the dark-latex wolf abandoned the idea of farming, so the latex blobs began to spread and multiply unchecked.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: When it sees how delighted Kade is at finally consuming Colin to acquire a anthropomorphic fox body, Circle wants to join in, and leaps onto them. All three undergo a "transfurmation fusion" together, emerging out as a fatter happier fox.
  • Self-Duplication: They're a collective Hive Mind of one fox-like creature that has split itself into multiple blobs, in order to corner and capture any human beings.

    Kade

Kade

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/circle_tail.png
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/the_circle_is_complete.png
Click here to see the fusion with Circle
An incomplete Blob Monster, Kade is an enemy originating from the Light-Latex species. It pursues the protagonist twice in the library area.
  • Angry Guard Dog: Puro kept Kade to guard the library entrance, and wanted to use it later in staging a scenario where he would appear to be an Ideal Hero, saving the human from his own white latex tail. Unfortunately, the plan gets sidetracked when Kade preemptively ambushes Colin, before the dark-latex wolf even has a chance to react. Puro's plan was then completely derailed when Colin, annoyed at his stalking, requested the goo monster stop following him. Puro returns to the library, meaning there was nothing to stop Kade ambushing Colin a second time.
  • Animate Body Parts: Kade is the incomplete, yet sentient tail, of a fox-like latex creature.
  • Appendage Assimilation: When it finally catches Colin, its goo consumes him and overjoyed at acquiring a now-completed body. Should another light-latex blob monster (Circle) fall onto it from the ceiling, they'll all fuse together and it'll be happier still.
  • Asian Fox Spirit: Its completed form is an anthropomorphic fox with Facial Markings that loosely resembles Shizi.
  • Cross-Popping Veins: Through a Pictorial Speech-Bubble, Kade is shown to get increasingly angry with Colin for trying to escape.
  • Difficulty by Acceleration: In the original game Kade was a Lightning Bruiser, getting faster and faster, that allowed no room for error during its chase sequences. In the Special Edition the difficulty has been retweaked so it starts off fast, but gradually tires.
  • Door Jam: With its gooey residue, Kade will force its way through jamming up all, but the last escape door you encounter it in while at the Library.
  • Fantastic Livestock: Among several others, it was raised by Puro who wanted to setup a farm to emulate humans. Raised from a tiny blob to be livestock, only for the wolf to find they all tasted terrible.
  • Fat and Proud: Kade appears very chonk and happy with itself if another Blob Monster, Circle, undergoes a fusion with it.
  • Failed a Spot Check: While it surprises the unsuspecting human, it's not very bright, and can be outwitted if Colin hides behind a potted orange tree in the library lobby. Due to its size, it's also possible for Kade to get ultimately wedged between the crates its prey has pushed aside to clear an escape-route.
  • I Just Want to Be Normal: A trait shared with the Headless Knight, it's one of the latex beasts with a malformed appearance, lacking anatomy, and missing body parts. It pursues Colin desperately as by assimilating him, it hopes to finally complete itself.
  • Skippable Boss: A nimble-enough Colin can give Kade the slip before the second chase sequence, running back out the door they both just came in through.
  • Stern Chase: The white latex monster is very aggressive in its pursuit of Colin. Kade is similar to the Ming Cat in that it mimics Colin's movements, but it isn't obstructed by the latex goo puddles or other environmental hazards throughout the corridors that impedes the fleeing human. The more the young man evades it, the angrier it gets. If the human doesn't take Tree Cover after the first chase sequence, it will be as fast as Yuin.
  • You Will Not Evade Me: Failing to take Tree Cover means the incomplete (and majorly ticked off) Blob Monster will become lightning-fast, chasing the protagonist to the balcony, and gloats when Colin's finally caught. Kade even blocks off the only easy escape route.

    Shizi

Shizi

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shizi_7.png
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/shizi_anthro_4.png
Click here to see Shizi as a human. note
A lazy light-latex fox creature found within the Library in a room located near where Colin first meets Puro.
  • Asian Fox Spirit: A light-latex monster with red fur markings over its face and body.
  • The Assimilator: If it catches Colin it'll ingest him, transforming into a larger bipedal fox-like creature that resembles a mythological huli jing.
  • Author Avatar: They're a self-insert fursona for the soundtrack's composer.
  • Blind Obedience: As it was raised by Puro, it will not attack Colin while in the company of the dark-latex wolf.
  • Creator Cameo: The character is based upon Shizi's fursona, who composed the game's soundtrack for creator DragonSnow.
  • Don't Wake the Sleeper: Shizi, does not like it's sleep being disturbed and if Colin foolishly touches either it or its latex patches it will give chase.
  • Fox Folk: As a fox latex, Shizi becomes one upon assimilating Colin.
  • Incompetent Guard Animal: It was raised by Puro, but unlike the malformed Kade which guards the library entrance, Shizi is quite lazy, and only gives chase from Colin being foolish enough to wake it.
  • Jump Scare: A nasty one occurs when exploring the vents looking for a way to progress. Colin will inadvertently step on some of its white latex patches on the floor, waking up Shizi in the next room who'll dash straight through a poster Puro had hung up to cover a hole in the wall.
  • Mysterious Animal Senses: Like many latex goo monsters, Shizi secretes residue of itself wherever it goes, normally they present a transfurmation hazard for the player. But these patches of slime are connected to it, Shizi will sense Colin if he should step on them.
  • Sleepyhead: As long as you keep your distance, it's a docile sleeping fox. Even Puro drew pictures of them making fun of just how lazy it is.
  • Wake-Up Call: Shizi does not like being rudely awakened from its slumber, and sprints after Colin.
  • Was Once a Man: Was once one of the CEOs of the Thunder Science Company. Photographs show them giving a tour of their labs to a visitor. They were both 'transfurred' after underestimating how proliferate the light-latex was; the blob leapt out of the petri dish to infect them. Shizi was later found and raised by Puro.

    Yuin

Yuin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/yuin_5.png
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/fake_savepoint.png
Click here to see Yuin's fusion with No. 25
A feminine light-latex goat-like creature with exceptional Objectshifting capabilities. They're a mimic-type enemy encountered throughout the game that tries to fool Colin with false savepoints, their first appearance being inside the Library.
  • Assimilation Backfire: If they swallow Colin up after he dons a fake pair of latex pink shorts (which is another mimic-type creature, experiment No.25 in disguise), they'll then transfur into a dragon-like creature, and be remarkably unhappy about the end-result.
  • Chest Monster: Yuin can transform themself into and masquerades as a false savepoint in order to fool you. If Colin gets too close they'll morph into a white latex blob to capture him.
  • Determinator: Most latex creatures give up when they've long lost sight of Colin, but this one seems almost hellbent on absorbing the human for themself.
  • Defiant Strip: Overlaps with Proud Beauty. The goat-like monster only wants Colin, and refuses to share the man with anything else, not even the benign latex pants, which they pull off and discard.
  • Foreshadowing: Their file is lying around in the Offices near the Security Room in the game's beginning as a forewarning of some of these latex beast's mimicking capabilities. They're not the only one that can Objectshift.
  • Gameplay and Story Segregation: Yuin disguises as a Save Point because Colin interacts with them often. Even if the player actively avoids using or even going near Save Points, Yuin still disguises as one.
  • Hartman Hips: At least they certainly seems to think so, as they sways their hips with smug satisfaction after consuming Colin.
  • It Can Think: This goat-like light-latex creature knows how to spring traps for their prey, and given their mannerism thinks they are an attractive creature too.
  • Jump Scare: Suddenly you find your savepoints won't always save you anymore...
  • Never Recycle Your Schemes: Hilariously averted, since you the player need to save your game often due to the Nintendo Hard difficulty they see no reason to change strategies.
  • Proud Beauty: Yuin's narcissistic and thinks of themself as a very attractive latex monster. They want to absorb Colin, and only him, into their beauty. Yuin is horrified if No.25 gets the drop on them, messing up their figure and curves.
  • Shapeshifting Failure: Their disguises while clever, aren't perfect. You'll notice the inanimate forms they assume have a slight misaligned tilt to them. Unfortunately there are broken savepoints around the complex which can throw a cautious player off guard.
  • Stern Chase: They're too fast to outrun, even if Colin is near a door. In order to survive, he must not get in close proximity of Yuin's traps.
  • Taught by Television: Yuin was nothing more than a latex blob until they began watching TV documentaries.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: They can take on whatever form they desires. Their goat body seems to be their default form after watching a nature documentary on TV long ago, they mimicked the woman presenter and the real goat on the programme, giving Yuin their current shape. They then frightened the scientists after transforming into a monitor.

    Snow Leopards

Snow Leopards

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snow_leopards_3.png
The Snow Leopards are a group of humanoid variegated-latex felid-like beasts that appear in the game. While they don't all appear simultaneously, they will show up in four different areas as they track and hunt Colin.
  • The Assimilator: The sexes of this species have different behaviours. Females always envelope Colin and pull him into themselves. Males will force a 'transfurmation' upon the human via a Kiss of Death. Both are enjoying themselves massively as they indulge themselves sating their primal needs.
  • Aw, Look! They Really Do Love Each Other: Despite seemingly having no connection to Puro and antagonising his human friend, they're shown crying when Puro announces he's leaving his den for good and will never return.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: Snow leopards in real life are solitary creatures, rarely ever hunting together, these latex monsters however are social and work as a pack.
  • Animal Gender-Bender: The snow leopards have sexual dimorphism where males and females exhibit different characteristics. Only females seem to have white hair on their heads. The male's ears are tipped with black. Both have distinct facial patterns, stripes and dots running from their eyes, top of the snout to corners of the mouth.
  • Container Maze: Puro describes his neighbours as a mischievous lot, who are always moving boxes and crates around to block pathways. Turns out there's a pragmatic reason for this, as it obstructs their fleeing prey when they give chase.
  • Furry Female Mane: Only the females have hair, the males are "bald", but still have fur all over their bodies.
  • Kiss of Death: How the eager males forcibly make Colin into one of them.
  • Not Good with Rejection: Occasionally a pouncing leopard beast from a vent or box will give Colin the chance to fight it off. It'll retreat feeling dejected and ashamed, but will soon return showing no mercy.
  • The Power of Family: Individually, they're no less threatening than any other pursuing lone predator, but what makes them dangerous is their pack, like the Dark-Latex wolves, coordinate and work together to hunt Colin down. The Snow Leopards are determined to make him a part of that family.
  • Press X to Not Die: One of the female snow leopards appears in a quick time event near the library. The player needs to spam the space bar quickly to avoid Colin being assimilated.
  • Super-Persistent Predator: While not as fast as Yuin, the group are determined to catch Colin, especially the females, who give chase when the male's box traps fail.
  • Suspiciously Stealthy Predator: They lack any mimic-type abilities, but make up for this in cunning, as they hide and lie in wait amongst the various boxes and crates littered across the complex.
  • Villainous Rescue: Subverted. The feline hunters inadvertently save Colin from the Stiger's clutches, when a hiding male was occupying the very box the spider-like beast intended to use, to cut off the human's last chance to escape.

    Goo Deer

Goo Deer

Click here to see Goo Deer's fusion with No. 25
A variegated-latex deer-like creature with Objectshifting capabilities. Like Yuin, it's a mimic-type enemy encountered throughout the Special Edition that tries to trap Colin.
  • Assimilation Backfire: Just like with Yuin, if the deer assimilates Colin after he dons a fake pair of latex pink shorts (experiment No.25, another mimic-type creature in disguise), they will then transfur into a dragon-like creature. Goo Deer is confused as its tail, now sentient, shows it affection.
  • Curiosity Is a Crapshoot: Goo Deer's favourite method of catching the human. The deer "rewards" the player that is curious enough to follow its trail, and search every document for hidden content.
  • Determinator: On par with Yuin, this creature relentlessly follows Colin through the library, the ventilation shafts, and just when you think it's given up, into the gas-filled chambers.
  • The Hunter Becomes the Hunted: It seems Goo Deer was brought to the complex as part of animal testing for the Genetic Project. It holds a grudge against humans for trapping it, and hunts after any human it can find, seeking to return the favor. Even the Non-Standard Game Over ending points out the irony.
  • It Can Think: The deer latex entity tries to lure Colin right to its traps on one occasion, a Non-Standard Game Over follows.
  • Jump Scare: Goo Deer's attacks are random with no foreshadowing, because of this, you'll never know what'll be a harmless object on one playthrough of the game, and what is the Cervinae creature lying in wait for you next time.
  • The Marvelous Deer: It thinks of itself as a "beautiful" animal, according to its thoughts and memories, that wash over Colin once he's consumed.
  • Trap Is the Only Option: The deer latex beast doesn't directly confront or chase the protagonist, instead sets up well-hidden traps to completely catch him unaware.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: While nowhere as capable as Yuin, Goo Deer tries to be more discreet instead, and chooses to transform into unsuspecting rubbish that's littered throughout the complex.

    No. 25

No.25

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/no25_forms.png
The 25th experiment with an unspecified batch of dragon-like variegated-latex goo, the scientists created during the Genetic Project to save people from the pandemic. It was like the other tests, a complete failure, and put into containment until a certain spider-like creature later came upon it.
  • Assimilation Backfire: On the dispensing end if either Yuin, or Goo Deer, swallow up Colin after he dons them. They'll then transfur fusion into a dragon-like bipedal beast. Both mimic-type monsters are less than pleased about the end-result. 25 is on the receiving end of this, if Colin gets abducted and assimilated by a family of red panda light-latex creatures hiding in the vents. The pink latex monster is suddenly expelled by the mischievous family, and the Blob Monster sulks alone on the floor.
  • Chest Monster: Subverted. It is incapable of Objectshifting and its disguise as latex shorts is really yet another one of Stiger's pranks.
  • Don't Touch It, You Idiot!: In its current dormant state, No.25 is harmless, unless the player is imprudent enough to desire a change of wardrobe.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: There are photos of the Blob Monster in the Dark-Latex hallways infecting a researcher, though it's easy to miss as you're being chased by The Elder One.
  • Interspecies Romance: It seems to spark one with the Purple Fox if Colin runs into them while wearing No.25. The Purple Fox splits off from No.25 upon 25 transfurring Colin, with 25 then kissing it while the Purple Fox blushes profusely. The Purple Fox smiles and wags its tail after the kiss, with the post-transfur screen showing them embracing each other. It's the only creature known to happily reciprocate its longings for companionship, as both Yuin and the Goo Deer are less than impressed to meet it.
  • Living Clothes: It was among many other failed experiments taken by Stiger and turned into a pair of seemingly-benign latex pants. At first nothing seems out of the ordinary when worn (even Puro remarks they're fashionable), but No.25 will soon awaken to absorb the hapless human.
  • Marked Change: Has curious body markings across its chest after it consumes Colin.
  • Mix-and-Match Critters: The dragon experiment pulls off probably the most 'transfur fusions' in the entire game on other monsters pursuing Colin, and in most instances they're not happy with the result.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: 25 is very playful with the other latex monsters it does come across, after Colin undergoes a 'transfurmation'.
  • Our Wyverns Are Different: When it awakens it'll engulf Colin, becoming a bipedal draconic monster with chest markings as its default form. If the protagonist manages to get consumed by another creature before then, 25 will appear more draconic instead.
  • Shapeshifting Excludes Clothing: Inverted. It was taken from its test tube by Stiger and forcibly spun into a pair of pants to deceive any unfortunate humans.
  • You Are Number 6: Has no known name, other than its official designation as the 25th test using an unspecified batch of light latex.

    Red Pandas

Red Pandas

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/red_panda_family.png
A family of very mischievous variegated-latex red pandas that hide Inside a Wall in the Vents in the Special Edition.
  • Advertised Extra: Despite being mostly minor characters, they're prominently featured on the game's cover and in DragonSnow's Twitter banner. According to the developer, they're a Creator's Favorite.
  • Air-Vent Passageway: They don't confront Colin directly, and shun open spaces. Instead the family prefers to move stealthily along the conduits and ventilation systems to grab their unsuspecting prey.
  • Clone by Conversion: The red pandas are shown "transfurring" Colin into an almost exact replica of themselves, except the converted human has eyes, unlike the rest of its new "family".
  • Clown-Car Base: The walls in the Vents are small and cramped. Despite this, it's shown in the 'transfur' screens that entire families of them live in the walls, with no apparent space issue.
  • Eyes Always Shut: Subverted. The pandas in the background of both 'transfurs' are depicted with no eyes, but they still have mouths. When shocked or surprised however, they can be seen.
  • Get Out!:
    • These tenacious pandas give No.25 the boot if Colin is already wearing the Living Clothes latex experiment. They refuse to allow an Assimilation Backfire. The creature can do nothing except mope on the floor, clearly dejected.
    • At a different point in the Vents, Colin can open a fake wall and encounter a whole family of them. They're surprised for a moment before silently forcing him out and slamming the door shut.
  • Inside a Wall: They hide inside of the walls (and closets) of the Vents, and transfur Colin into one of them if he gets too close to the wall.
  • No-Sell: If Colin gets abducted and assimilated by them while wearing No.25, the pink latex monster is suddenly expelled by the mischievous family, and the Blob Monster sulks alone on the floor. The family's among the only latex beasts who are capable of evicting No.25, instead of unhappily fusing with it.
  • Possessive Wrist Grab: The family will grab and forcibly pull in a 'transfurred' and confused Colin into their home and clutches.
  • The Power of Family: They don't seem to have a Hive Mind, but rather a social close-knit community. The pandas only want Colin to be a part of their large playful family, and no one else is permitted to infiltrate in with him, or join via any 'transfur fusions'.
  • The Prankster: While the Stiger is king among trolls, these mischievous critters are a close-second. Often duping the player into walking straight into their grasp. If Colin is wary enough to avoid their latex walls, they'll change strategies and blindside him if he doesn't touch them.
  • Villainous Face Hold: In their second transfur, one of them cradles Colin's chin, with the former human having clearly suffered Death of Personality.

    Stiger

Stiger

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/stiger_spider.png
Click here to see Stiger's child.
Stiger is a variegated-latex arachnid beast, a fusion transfur of several other creatures that is an exclusive enemy in the game's Special Edition. His home is in the darkest, warmest areas of the tower's vents.
  • Adopt the Food: After transfurring Colin into a fellow spider-like creature from his own egg sac, he's practically manhandling and forcing him back into the depths of the lair.
  • Ambiguous Situation: His 'transfurring' Colin into a fellow hybrid is one of the only times in the game a latex beast chooses to transfur the human instead of assimilate him without their relationship afterwards being shown (whether it be friends, family, or lovers). Though notably, Colin appears to have not suffered Death of Personality and doesn't seem happy whatsoever with being taken by the Stiger.
  • All Webbed Up: He will wrap up a transfurred-Colin, if unfortunate enough to get caught by one of his moth latex pets, salivating at the sides of Stiger's mouth intending to swallow him whole later.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: Stiger's at least two variegated-latex beasts who've both had a fusion transfur together, one of the red panda-like monsters hiding in the vents, and a moth-like experiment. He's incapable of spinning silk, instead secretes endless strings of strong latex from his abdomen.
  • Bizarre Alien Reproduction: He doesn't assimilate Colin directly via touch or swallowing/engulfing him, instead laying a huge latex egg sac which captures and engulfs the human like any Blob Monster would when he gets too close in attempting to flee the nest. Said egg then breaks open to reveal Colin, now another Stiger, with it attaching to the former-human and becoming his abdomen.
  • Clone by Conversion: Played with. When he catches Colin in ine of his eggs, the human will be converted into a blue-eyed duplicate of Stiger.
  • Didn't See That Coming: He tries to cut off Colin's last route of escape from his clutches by dropping yet another box in his path, only to realize a male snow leopard-like beast was already occupying it, much to Stiger's misfortune.
  • Evil Laugh / Game-Over Man: He'll laugh cruelly at Colin whenever he falls victim to one of the insidious traps.
  • Fantastic Livestock: Stiger keeps a lot of prey/pets in his lair, and (unless you stumble upon his Hidden Depths) has every intention of feeding you to them.
  • Giant Spider: A fusion of at least two variegated-latex creatures, and likely a snow-leopard to boot. He's a huge red-ish brown multiple-armed beast with six eyes, large abdomen, but no visible spinnerets.
  • He Knows Too Much: Stiger's shocked then most displeased Colin stumbled into the middle of his lair thereby discovering he actually has Hidden Depths in using his latex string to knit many pairs of pants. After this disturbance Stiger stops fooling around, and decides upon a direct course of action to assimilate the human directly via his egg sac and make him into his offspring. It's impossible for the player to have Colin witness Stiger's at work and escape.
  • Hidden Depths: He has almost human-level intelligence, that much is evident as he keeps fooling Colin while chuckling to himself time and again, but Stiger's the one who is responsible for all the fake latex clothing lying around the complex that transforms the wearer into various light monsters. Judging by how many he's made and that there are no humans left to deceive (apart from Colin), Stiger takes pride in his work. He seems to consider knitting as something of a guilty pleasure, and is shocked and mortified upon Colin witnessing his knit, only then deciding to transfur him due to the human seeing too much to be allowed to leave.
  • Involuntary Shapeshifting: On the dispensing end. Stiger forces several failed latex experiments such No.25, to be spun into latex clothing.
  • Possessive Wrist Grab: If he turns Colin into his offspring, Stiger immediately lunges upon the new spider-creature before Colin has a chance to come to terms. He then grabs all the former-human's arms, and starts pushing him back into the lair.
  • Pupating Peril: Once Colin stumbles upon his working, he's done for. Stiger disappears and has offscreen laid a huge egg sac to block off the only exit. Upon touch it will assimilate the man just like any Blob Monster would.
  • The Prankster: Stiger is one huge troll to Colin in this regard. He's easily the most mischievous creature in the game, and the Vents are a brutal place anyway for Colin. One wrong or mistimed step means assimilation by one of the many latex pets Stiger keeps around. When the protagonist ventures into his den, they're constantly setting up obstructions and messing with him simply trying to make progress. Stiger lures Colin into wrong turns, trapping him in dead-ends, leaving the spider monster's pets free to absorb him all while giggling to himself.
  • Sneaky Spider: Rather than 'transfur' him directly, this creature prefers to indirectly have Colin assimilated instead. There's nothing he can do to stop Stiger moving around the Vents as he pleases, and he'll always be in the best position to box Colin in if he takes just one wrong step.
  • Super-Strength: Stiger is able to lift solid metal crates and place them wherever he wants with ease, something neither Colin nor Puro are capable of doing.
  • Textile Work Is Feminine: He loves making pants out of latex goo from other creatures he caught, ingested, and spun into clothing from his abdomen. This serves as a Berserk Button for Stiger though, as he doesn't ever want Colin finding out he's more than just a prankster.
  • Villainous Legacy: Stiger continues trying to get Colin assimilated over and over later in the game via his Living Clothes creations, long after passing his lair, because he made so many of them.
  • Villainous Parental Instinct: Stiger develops one for Colin should he be fortunate (or unfortunate enough) to get absorbed into his huge egg sac. Emerging out as a spider-like creature, Colin has no time to react before Stiger is forcing and shoving him back into the depths of his home.
  • You Are Already Dead: There's no way to get around Stiger egg sac, so once he lays it Colin is a goner. Even though the player retains control all the way to the egg, it's an unavoidable Game Over from the moment Stiger jumps offscreen while knitting.

    Latex Snakes

Latex Snakes

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/snake_latexs4.png
White latex snakes that live in the Vents. Stiger keeps them among many other light-latex beasts as her pets and food.

    The Gardeners

The Gardeners

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leaf_hunter1.png
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/leaf_hunter3.png
Large green lizard-like variegated-latex creatures found in the Special Edition greenhouse area that Doctor K jokingly refers to as the area's "gardeners". They stealthy pursue Colin through the vegetation hoping to trap him unawares.
  • Abhorrent Admirer: The lizard ones adore Colin if the young man finds himself in their clutches, embracing him before forcing the transfurmation process upon him.
  • Ambiguously Related: The lizard ones' shape and appearance are quite similar to the Box Puppies and Cone Lizards, being a giant solid coloured lizard with a long tail it stands on, though the leaf lizard is taller and has a slightly different head shape.
  • Cartoon Creature: Both of their appearances don't match any one sort of animal, and they're never referred to with any actual name.
  • Fearful Symmetry: The lizard ones stalk after Colin through the overgrown orange trees, only moving when he does. As the youth ventures looking for Prototype, they become more numerous, faster and aggressive in their chase. The player needs to pay close attention to which plants are moving, on top of watching out for latex squirrels looming overhead. A good strategy is to lure them to one corner, and navigate the greenhouse without brushing against the trees, taking the path of least resistance.
  • Man-Eating Plant: Some of them mimic ordinary plants to trick and capture Colin, before devouring him no differently than a Venus Fly Trap. An observing Doctor K notes they are evolving and getting smarter in their hunt of human prey.
  • Non-Standard Game Over: Being 'transfurred' by one results in Dr. K congratulating Colin on getting the "right ending".
  • Obvious Rule Patch: They'll move into the bush patch to the right of the Behemoth so that Colin can't abandon the fight.
  • Offscreen Teleportation: They'll somehow teleport into the bush patch to the right of the Behemoth during the fight, likely so that Colin must defeat the Behemoth.
  • Oh, Crap!: Prototype was ordered by Dr. K to obstruct Colin's progress via the nearest available latex beast. The cherriful AI doesn't understand, so grabs the nearest 'Gardener' creature, and dumps it close-by. The creature's visibly disturbed and nervous of the machine, which it can't break free of or absorb, because Prototype's metal and inorganic.
  • Planimal: They appear to be a mix of both a plant and animal creature, with an animal-like appearance but also a connection to the greenhouse plants.
  • Prehensile Tail: Upon 'transfurring' Colin, the lizard-like ones have the mass go to their tail, using it as a stand for themselves.
  • Transflormation: The ambiguously Planimal lizard ones assimilate Colin should they catch the human, becoming larger and balancing on their tail. This is played straight by the ones in the grass, which devour Colin and hang him from a plant stem, before letting him go as a green animal with a leaf tail.
  • Trap Is the Only Option: Some of the monsters lie in wait and don't attempt to chase after Colin, due to the cluttered overgrown environment of the greenhouse (Prototype is not pruning the trees), they can be easy to accidentally bump into.
  • Tree Cover: These "gardeners" never leave the thicket of their dwarf orange trees. Unfortunately, the greenhouse for lack of maintenance is choked by the plants and Colin has to advance through their home.

    Squirrels

Squirrels

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/goosquirrels_0.png
Variegated-latex squirrels found throughout in the Greenhouse in the Special Edition.
  • Ceiling Cling: They hide up in the greenhouse's heights among the vegetation, if Colin makes too much noise or attempts to sprint past the "gardeners", they will drop down and give chase. When this happens, unless he's near a door he's usually screwed as all three are too fast to outrun.
  • Cuddle Bug: Their way of 'transfurring' Colin is for all of them to pile on and hug him, then assimilate in and continue hugging even when they're liquid. Their behaviour passes on to Colin, who starts hugging their tail for lack of anyone else to hug.
  • Fearful Symmetry: They hang from the ceiling whenever Colin moves. If he moves whenever they're visible, they'll drop and transfur him.
  • It Can Think: If they grab onto Colin near a door before the 'transfurmation' commences, they will actively block his attempts to escape them into another room.
  • Killer Rabbit: The little guys are just adorable, and think Colin is the greatest thing to ever happen to them, but they're just as dangerous as any other Blob Monster and will swallow you up in no time.
  • Many Spirits Inside of One: When they catch Colin and achieve their Anthropomorphic Transformation there's now four beings (including Colin) inside one huge squirrel-like beast and they start hugging their own tail.
  • Obvious Rule Patch: They're in the game to prevent the player from exploiting the Gardeners' Fearful Symmetry by just running through the bush patches.

    Raccoons

Raccoons

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raccoons_cubs.png
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/raccoons_adults.png
Variegated-latex raccoons that playfully attack Colin in one of the disinfection rooms in the game's Special Edition.
  • And I Must Scream: Both 'transfur' screens imply Colin is still self-aware, with one showing him grabbing at his featureless face in horror while the other shows him being smothered by his over-affectionate tail. While he can still move, both still leave him as an alien-like creature incapable of seeing or speaking whatsoever.
  • The Assimilator: They both try to merge with Colin into a faceless raccoon person.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: Unlike every other transfur, two fusing together to transfur Colin doesn't result in an extra fluffy latex beast or a Gender Bender. Instead, Colin's tail becomes larger and sentient, grows a mouth and tongue, and begins licking Colin's face.
  • The Blank: Both transfurs from them result in Colin having no eyes, nose or mouth of any kind, though he strangely still possesses a muzzle and a raccoon's eye "mask".
  • Block Puzzle: Like the light-latex pups, Colin encounters these critters in one of the decontamination rooms, both burst out of two ventilation ducts to absorb him. The Raccoon's AI pathway is all over the place as they randomly and playfully roll around the room. This can make them a Boss in Mook Clothing, because it's impossible to trap the two in the traffic cones. Best way to survive them is probably to create a safe haven for Colin around the switch, and then a path to the exit. But they're unpredictable beasts - if they somehow get stuck near the exit, you're likely doomed.
  • Confusion Fu: While Colin's proximity to them can influence their movements to a degree, their AI pathways are seemingly random and chaotic, requiring far greater care than with the light-latex pups you've encountered before.
  • Face Hugger: The transfur ends with the raccoon growing a head and shoulder that leans forward off of Colin's body, then slams backwards to merge with his own head and shoulders.
  • Fusion Dance:
    • Their method of transfurring Colin is to fuse with his benign latex pants, with the benign raccoon pants then activating. This is likely why the final transfur is The Blank.
    • If both of them reach Colin, after the first one transfurs the human, the second one joins in, resulting in the tail becoming larger and gaining a mouth and tongue.
  • Organ Autonomy: Two of them transfurring Colin results in the tail gaining sentience and growing a mouth, with it then licking Colin's "face", much to his confusion.
  • Rascally Raccoon: Both have made their home in one of the decontamination rooms, filling it full of garbage bags. Even though their movements are Confusion Fu to watch, they move so fast, that unless Colin uses the traffic cones against them to create a path, he will never leave that room as a human being.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Despite being great assimilators and being smart enough to exploit Colin's benign latex pants, they're incapable of knocking or jumping over a traffic cone, which allows Colin to easily navigate the disinfection room.

    Dark Latex Wolf Cub

Dark Latex Wolf Cub

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dark_puppy.png
A cute little dark-latex cub that strayed away from its kind to follow after Colin, through the gas-flooded areas in the Vents.
  • Cuddle Bug: All the little one wants is affection, and doesn't really mind whether Colin gives it attention as a human, or as a newly 'transfurred' latex beast.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: As soon as Colin enters the Offices he can spot the little critter running in and out of the vents singing happily.
  • I'm Melting!: Its infant form is unstable and unable to 'transfur' any human hosts, so colliding into Colin reduces the pup to a puddle, from which it soon reforms. The downside to bumping into the cub, is its sticky goo now impeds Colin's movements through the gas-filled Vents, if he tries to move too soon.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: It's playful and doesn't seem to mind it's white latex counterparts. This little cub doesn't try to absorb you, and proves to be an obstruction at worst (because the gas will 'transfur' you if you idle), and a playful critter at best if you know how to navigate the area safely.
  • Pet Baby Wild Animal: Whereas the light-latex cubs are dangerous to touch, the dark wolf cubs are safe to handle without risk of 'transfurmation'. They were such playful critters that several scientists were known to have kept them as pets, before reaching maturity.
  • Shoo the Dog: An overprotective Puro panics when he sees the cub following Colin, and shoos it away back home.
  • Sleepyhead: Colin can find one in the Offices in such a deep sleep he can play and pet it, all without fear of waking it and the adult wolves up.

    Orca Hydra

Orca Hydra

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ocra_hydra.png
Click here to see the third head.
A huge two-headed variegated-latex orca monster found near the end of the Aquatic area in the Special Edition. Missing its third head after an accident, and unable to relocate it, the beast seeks Colin as a substitute. The Hydra is the final obstacle to overcome before the player finally reaches the Generator Room. The missing middle head, found behind the Aquatic area's generator room in the Special Edition.
  • Anvil on Head: After struggling enough to get out of their grip, they're defeated when falling bricks land on their heads and knock them out.
  • Artistic License – Marine Biology: The white spots on its head act as Wingding Eyes, and change to things such as X's. The white spots on a real orca's head aren't their eyes, and are located a little above and behind their actual eyes. Popular consensus is that the white spots exist to give a false target for predators of the orca.
  • The Assimilator: They force Colin into their middle neck and try to turn him into a new head to replace their missing one.
  • Bizarre Alien Biology: Despite being orcas, belonging to the oceanic dolphin family, the huge beast has canine paws.
  • Casually Powerful Giant: The Orca Hydra lumbers as gingerly as it can to avoid destroying its own habitat, and even then, it's still causing destruction with the smallest of motions. Hydra is huge and the largest known aquatic creature in the game. note
  • Determinator: Once they find Colin, the Hydra is hellbent on stuffing him down the severed neck where the middle head used to be. The giant is unfazed if the man escapes their first attempt to assimilate him - they're going to shove him in again and again, until they win. Fortunately for Colin, their rampaging caused so much damage debris falls and knocks them out cold.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: If Colin were to somehow fall into deeper water where the maintenance bots roam, he will be effortlessly assimilated by the giant.
  • Family of Choice: The Hydra's heads are determined to reunite, but in Colin's presence, they'll go straight for him, by design of being latex goo monsters. Both instances, whether the main body or decapitated head, they're delighted to absorb the human and start a new life together.
  • Gemini Destruction Law: Latex beasts are virtually indestructible, and can reform themselves from any injury. However, the Orca Hydra has its consciousness and control of their huge body split between the three of them. With one of their heads blown clean off, they are unable to heal what they've lost, unless they find their middle head (or a human substitute).
  • Giant Space Flea from Nowhere: Subverted. They seem to have no importance to the story, or appear anywhere before their attack. Some players may notice their Early-Bird Cameo, but observant gamers will know through connecting the dots in the logs they're the monster responsible for Colin being ejected from his Cryo-Prison.
  • Logical Weakness: Because they're so big, they're causing the building to shake and debris starts to fall when they move. This ends up playing into their defeat when bricks fall on both of their heads and knock them out.
  • Losing Your Head: Their middle head is missing, leaving just a gooey dripping stump of a neck. Despite this, they seem to be fine. The middle head still exists but is separated from the rest of its body. As its latex goo, it's still alive and active.
  • Multiple Head Case: They used to be large muscular orca-like beasts that roam the Aquatic area. At some unspecified point, the three merged together to make a hydra, but they have two heads, the third was severed in an accident.
  • Non-Malicious Monster: The Hydra is only rampaging through the complex's flooded areas because it's desperate to find their lost head.
  • Non-Mammalian Hair: After getting "transfurred" by the middle head, Colin still has hair after the orca transfur, despite then being an oceanic creature related to dolphins.
  • Not Quite Dead: The middle head is found on the catwalk behind the generator with "X" eyes and its tongue out. But it isn't dead, as the latex beasts cannot truly "die". If Colin interacts with it after activating the generator, it abruptly awakens and 'transfurs' the human.
  • Orifice Invasion: When power is restored, the supposedly dead middle head awakens if Colin gets too close, and forces its way down his throat into his stomach, to infect him from the inside out.
  • Our Hydras Are Different: They're a giant anthropromoprhic orca-like beast with two heads and a third oozing neck. Their assault on Colin consists of them trying to turn him into a third head to once again be complete.
  • Press X to Not Die: The beast has the longest quick time event in the game, where the player has to spam several buttons and arrow keys clockwise and anticlockwise to survive. note
  • Small Role, Big Impact: The Orca Hydra was the latex monster that knocked out the complex's backup generator, causing power failures across the tower. These ultimately kicked Colin out of his stasis chamber in the game's beginning to avert a Cryonics Failure. Dr K tried to repair the damage before Colin was released, but because he "transfurred" himself long ago, the older machinery in the basement no longer recognised him as an active user.
  • Swallowed Whole: Hydra's method of 'transfurring' Colin is to lunge at him, and forcibly stuff him down the severed throat of its middle decapitated head, and replace the one it mislaid.
  • Taser Tag Weakness: The latex monsters only vulnerability is electric shocks. At the beginning of the game, the Hydra accidentally ploughed its way through the Generator Room. A massive explosion wrecked all the cabling, knocked out the power for the complex, and blew the beast's third head off.
  • Terrestrial Sea Life: The middle orca head is severed from the main body. Despite this, it seems unimpeded by being on a catwalk out of the water. It can even move around to quickly ensnare Colin before he has a chance to escape.
  • Wake Up Fighting: Upon the middle head waking up on the catwalk, it lunges at Colin immediately to transfur him.
  • Wingding Eyes: The decapitated middle head's eyes are shown as "X". As it turns out though, this is a Hydra Problem.

    Feng Yu

Feng Yu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/feng_yu_cub_adult.png
A variegated-latex lion-like character in Changed who is suddenly encountered whilst Colin and Puro explore the buildings white Latex forests.
  • Creator Cameo: A fursona of one of the game's testers.
  • Foe-Tossing Charge: Puro bravely tries to protect Colin from the lion latex monster when their sudden appearance catches the duo off-guard. This angers Feng Yu, who throws Puro aside to get at Colin. In the Special Edition, the lion cub roars loudly at your Papa Wolf, making Puro paralysed with fear.
  • It Can Think: If Colin tries to hide from the pursuing monster in some lockers, Feng Yu will start searching through them.
  • Roar Before Beating: As Colin tries to flee, they let out a loud roar alerting all the resident white goo monsters in the latex jungle, making Feng Yu that much harder to escape.
  • Squashed Flat: Feng Yu will never stop chasing Colin. To escape, the human must emerge out of a locker hiding place while the lion creature is searching the one adjacent to it. The force will pancake the goo monster between the metal doors, jamming them.
  • Stern Chase: They really don't care whether Puro or the white-latex goo monsters obstruct and hinder them - they only care about assimilating Colin and becoming a full-fledged lion. In the Special Edition, Colin will be too frightened to climb an escape ladder to get away from the beast.
  • Super-Persistent Predator: While not as fast as Yuin, they're far more relentless than either them or the Snow Leopards and chases Colin through several areas. They'll never give up, even if Colin finds a hiding spot.
  • The Door Slams You: When Colin emerges out of the adjacent locker Feng Yu was looking in for him, the impact flattens the light-latex beast between the metal doors, and they're unable to reform.
  • Time-Passage Beard: A variant. If they successfully absorb Colin, they'll grow a lion's mane having come of age as a latex beast hunter.
  • Video Game Cruelty Potential: You can keep slamming the door on the squashed lion goo in the Special Edition without consequence, as he doesn't reform and leave til afterwards.
  • What Happened to the Mouse?: In the Special Edition if Colin backtracks to the lockers, they've disappeared, heavily implying they left in defeat.

In Dr. K's laboratory you may find an old recording taken on the day of the riots by an unknown cameraman. This powerful creature features in the Special Edition, and is the only character aside from Colin, that is controllable by the player. The beast escaped from Lab I containment on that fateful day, infecting everyone it came across with its latex goo.
  • Appendage Assimilation: It was originally a bipedal dragon-like latex, another experiment that failed after the human host lost their personality. Suddenly an unexpected mutation happened, and the tail became a head having its own sentience that consumed the rest of the body. Tail was originally impassive, but as an alien six-eyed dragon was far happier. The main body willingly embraced the change.
  • Animal Jingoism: Tail has no feelings of hostility towards Dark-latex monsters at all, and frees them from their containers.
  • Animalistic Abomination: After 'transfurring' every rioter in K's simulations, it forces everyone, anthropomorphic or otherwise, to gather and merge together in a writhing draconic multi-mouthed mountainous malformation.
  • Creator Cameo: Its original form is a cameo of the developer's fursona. To be more precise, it's the fursona's tail gaining sentience and taking over the rest of the body.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: On the dispensing end. All of the Security teams, despite sheer numbers, technology and precautions, were unable to halt its advance, as it tears through several labs infecting everyone.
  • Determinator: It will never rest, ever, not until every last human being is assimilated into its Hive Mind. Thunder Science Security despite shooting it repeatedly with taser guns normally effective against goo beasts, were wholly unable to recapture it, or stop its rampage. The rioters outside (in Dr K's simulations) were also overpowered and despite giving it a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown, could not subdue it.
  • Early-Bird Cameo: In the Aquatic Area, there is a set of photos that show how Tail came to be long before his official debut, disguised as a Creator Cameo.
  • Escaped from the Lab: You take control of Tail who uses the riots as a distraction to break out of a solid-metal containment vessel within Lab I. You must fight your way through waves of guards hell-bent on beating you back into confinement.
  • Extra Eyes: Tail resembles an alien more than a dragon after its mutation, having six eyes. In Dr. K's simulations of it attacking the rioters in the city, the monster's eyes are an Expressive Health Bar, and close whenever it takes damage from the mob, and reopen when it recovers stamina.
  • Failed a Spot Check: As it chases after fleeing security guards, Tail thankfully failed to notice Colin in cryogenic stasis. Had it spotted him, the story would be over before it started.
  • Foregone Victory: As you're in control of the very indestructible lab monster responsible for the latex outbreak, it is impossible for you to lose (and impossible for you to transfur Colin). The riot mobs in Dr. K's simulations can only subdue it for a temporary reprieve, before it rampages anew, as if nothing happened.
  • From Nobody to Nightmare: It was just another failed dragon-type latex experiment on a human test subject, but then it suddenly underwent a mutation, and became too dangerous to control or contain.
  • Goo It Up: In Dragon form, Tail's attack is to hurl smaller dragons at the security officers that infect when they collide. These attacks are useless against the big taser shotgun guards and those piloting the Maintenance bots.
  • Greater-Scope Villain: Tail is the reason why latex beasts roam and prowl everywhere Colin wanders in the game. Years before the events of Changed, it was single-handedly responsible for the mass outbreak of all the latex experiments from the Tower.
  • It Can Think: All latex beasts by design seek out humans to absorb, but on some level, Tail is aware of what it's doing. The monster cleverly goes after vials containing mutagens in the lab. Once it absorbs them, Tail can shift between powerful shark and dragonic forms to overwhelm the guards attacking.
  • The Juggernaut: Nothing can stop this thing. Even when Thunder Science tries to exploit its Taser Tag Weakness, and inability to absorb mechas, it refuses to submit. Tail keeps bulldozing through any obstacle in its pursuit of human hosts.
  • Jump Scare: The player gets a nasty one at the end of its final cutscene, where it finds and pounces upon the cameraman himself! No one was spared.
  • Lack of Empathy: When it dawns on the last remaining guards there's no way they can defeat this monster, they try and fail to escape. Tail shows no mercy. One way of interpreting this is Tail Paying Evil Unto Evil as Thunder Science security was once responsible for the handling of live human test-subjects. Just like Colin, they never volunteered, but were abducted from their homes to be experimented upon in the Genetic Project.
  • Player Character: Aside from Colin, Tail is the only other character the player can control, and it's a nigh-invulnerable latex monster, meaning you cannot lose. Tail's journey takes you from Labs I, G, and K. The final area you progress through, is the starting room that's right outside Colin's Cryo-Prison.
  • Prehensile Tail: After absorbing the second mutagen from Lab I, Tail can transform into a feminine dragon-like creature that sits on and slithers around with its overly-long tail.
  • Smug Super: The beast after mutating, is always sporting a smirk of confidence and excessive pride, even when it's taking a beating from countless guards and rioters.
  • Tail Slap: Many guards from the Thunder Science Security have equipped long cattle prods and batons, preventing Tail from assimilating them in its base-form. To overcome them, the monster transforms into its newly-acquired shark-form with long tail. It effortlessly infects them all.
  • Unwinnable Training Simulation: Dr K spliced up recordings of it infecting all the rioters outside the tower. It's impossible for Tail to lose to the mob.
