Siegmar Isaac Octavius Consevatie

Debut: Chapter 26/Chapter 23: The Easy Way Out

Origin: Original Character

Among one of the many courters that had been arranged into a temporary relationship with Princess Malty by King Aultcray, Siegmar Isaac Octavius Consevatie stood out to her as the most unbearable person she could never tolerate. Introduced in chapter 26, Consevatie establishes himself as a Smug Snake Hate Sink using his Sir Swears-a-Lot language as his main weapon to insult those he hates. For some time, Consevatie was thought to be nothing more than an egotistical pampered noble, until The Reveal where he turns out to be a modern-day person that had been reincarnated into House Consevatie. Believing the reincarnation to be a special sign, Consevatie sees all who exists in Medea as NPCs, and vows to reign the land as God.

    A-I
  • Abusive Parents: With Raphtalia and Firo as his slaves, he ends up being the closest thing they have to a parent, after separating the two from Naofumi and Mein. Based on how he treats Raphtalia, Consevatie views her as a Love Interest he can claim despite the latter being a child having no experience in romance, and treating Firo as a beast of burden to ride on.
  • Affectionate Gesture to the Head: Inverted. Unlike Naofumi who gives Raphtalia head-pats as a sign of their love as a family and for comfort, Consevatie's patting onto Raphtalia is filled with perversion to claim her as a Beautiful Slave Girl he owns without consenting her fear into getting a relationship with him.
  • Agony of the Feet: His toes get stomped on by Malty in chapter 132 for revenge against every undeserved victory her gained from his idiocy and cruelty. By the stomp, Consevatie lets out a muffled scream beneath Bed-Chan's bounds, despite the low volume, Malty is able to have her ears blessed by the cathartic payback.
  • Allegorical Character: As part of his shorted name being SIOC, meaning Self-Insert Original Character in terms of fanfiction authors planting an idealized version of themselves into an Original Character, Siegmar Isaac Octavius Consevatie serves as the deconstruction of the idea. Having reincarnated into the world of Medea, Consevatie uses his reincarnation as an excuse to view everyone as his playthings, and sees himself deserving to become a god. Even further to feed his own ego, Consevatie interprets Medea as a world fitted to serve his needs to act as a protagonist destined to claim everything as his own.
  • Ambiguous Situation: His origins as to what how he lived his original life, before becoming reincarnated into Medea is left vague, but based on how he interacts with others, it provides implied clues as to what influenced his behavior. Calling Medea's inhabitants as NPCs confirms him to be on the Wrong Genre Savvy for believing everything is a game around him, except for the fact that he can call out certain characters of actions they had done only in The Rising of the Shield Hero. Which implies Consevatie is strictly basing his thinking on the canon events of the original Shield Hero story, and his actions are done in a way that he hopes will cheat the storylines he presumably knows.
  • Arch-Enemy: Since enslaving Raphtalia and Firo from Naofumi and Malty, Consevatie becomes a major figure in which Naofumi and Malty put lots of thoughts on how they can beat him behind the many connections Consevatie has with the Three Heroes Church and the House Consevatie resources.
  • Armor-Piercing Response: Before leaving Raphtalia alone in chapter 112, Consevatie tells her that their slave crest is a 'sign of their trust'. After saying that statement in her face, Raphtalia breaks down in tears from realizing just how horrible slavery is under the hands of a horrible master.
  • Attention Whore: Being a Glory Hound wanting to attain credibility in achievements he believes deserves to himself, Consevatie likes boasting for everyone to pay him the attention he desires of being a god. He will even go as far as to steal credibility to the people who were needed to make his plans successful, just so he is given the fame he believes is deserved as the main character.
  • Bad Boss: Even if his allies are genuinely loyal to him, Consevatie's main method of control is to inspire fear within their eyes by his cruelty to all those that disobey. At times, his cruelty has gotten so excessive that it results in some of his soldiers questioning of his sane mind is able to operate properly in progressing the goals of everyone.
  • The Bad Guy Wins: He successfully captures Naofumi and Malty in chapter 118, and drives them further to despair by turning them into his slaves to stop any sort of resistance he expects from them in any future event.
  • Big Bad Wannabe: Though he was one of the main contributors that got the support of the Three Heroes Church to drive away Naofumi and Malty as fugitives, and his own political power is expanded by the mass resources brought to him, Consevatie's complete idiocy and ego end up being the main weaknesses that lessens him a complete threat to all.
  • Blaming the Victim: As Raphtalia complains of her ankle getting twisted from an [Air Shot]], Consevatie puts the blame on Raphtalia being too weak to defend herself from the attack, rather than accept that the training he is giving her is too harsh for her to handle in chapter 131.
Consevatie: This wouldn't have happened, if you just learned to stand your ground and fight.
  • Blasphemous Boast: To build himself up as a deity for nobles to look up to, Consevatie treats the current and previous Legendary Heroes as nobodies that are only made important of their Legendary Weapons, all while disregarding the heroic acts that built them as real legends.
  • Blatant Lies: When he reveals to Raphtalia of Mein's identity being a princess in chapter 112, Consevatie makes sure to include that she is also completely selfish behind everyone and will backstab them to further her own ambitions. Though Consevatie could have been right at some aspects of Mein's personality, the latter has saved Raphtalia so many times in their adventures that Raphtalia herself is not deterred by any of his slandering.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Believing the world of Medea is a video game, like a typical Isekai genre, and its inhabitants function as NPCs, Consevatie places his values on judging people rightly by those that take his sides, and criticizing those that are in opposition to him. Bordering on Moral Myopia, he hates others participating on tactics or crimes he deems as evil, but will do the same himself, because he lacks the self-awareness to recognize himself as a bad guy.
  • Born Lucky: To contribute as to what makes him such an infuriating person in Medea is that he got all his achievements through pure blind luck, and not the skills he perceives himself as having. Being an Idiot Houdini that has to have contrived situations happen to protect him from his own incompetence, Consevatie is given the biggest victories over the heroes with unpredictably bad strategies, all while he takes the backseat in having his men do all the work.
  • Call-Back: Consevatie berating Raphtalia for being supposedly ungrateful of the royal lifestyle being granted towards her by him in chapter 112 has an eerie reference to Queen Mirellia's ghost back in chapter 48 that makes out Malty as an Ungrateful Bitch towards Mirellia trying to make herself out as a "good mother".
  • Can't Kill You, Still Need You: Although Firo is defiant towards him and is suggested by Sister Amelia to just kill the bird, Consevatie prefers to keep Firo alive in chapter 96, since Firo is a monarch filorial worth the effort.
Siegmar Isaac Octavius Consevatie: Patience, Amelia. She is a monarch filorial. She's worth the effort.
  • Can't Take Criticism: For all the grandiose displays he likes to portray himself as, all it takes is Raki insulting his feats looking good only because of House Consevatie's resources and the money stolen from the commoners ends up being a quick way to easily grabs Consevatie's attention in chapter 118 to execute Raki.
  • Casanova Wannabe: He attempts to court Mordred by using a pick up line announcing that her brother, Jaune, supposedly betrayed the Church of the Three Heroes, and that he himself is a real man that Mordred must love. Mein in her thoughts lampshades that he made the worst pick-up line ever heard in her life and is embarrassed that she once courted him, despite it being arranged.
  • The Chosen Wannabe: Since his reincarnation into Medea as a member of House Consevatie, Siegmar believes himself to be destined for greatness in having everyone be fawning over him. To anyone else attempting to copy his thunder, deliver insults at his face, or get near the slaves he owns, Siegmar is likely to lose his cool in order to reinforce his birth into Medea as something that will gift him legends.
  • Chronic Backstabbing Disorder: Whatever looks to be an opportunity that can allow him to steal credit or rise up high in the ranks of hierarchies, Consevatie will betray or leave behind his own allies with a smug look on his face to make himself a mighty person in his own image to the public.
  • Composite Character:
    • To the Three Heroes from The Rising of the Shield Hero, Consevatie embodies the many traits that make them incompetent failures or unlikable in living out life in Medea. Consevatie sees the world of Medea as a video game where everyone else is an NPC he can steamroll with his modern knowledge, similarly to the Three Heroes believing they have an advantage because they played video games in their past life.
    • Similarly with Canon!Motoyasu, Consevatie exhibits many of the former's negative personality traits and actions that formed him into an infuriating Hate Sink. Like Motoyasu, they both have a creepy obsession in wanting to keep Naofumi's girls for themselves at all times, under the belief they would save them. When in reality, both Canon!Motoyasu and Consevatie have an insufferable ego, in which both Firo and Raphtalia refuse to be near them. While Motoyasu and Consevatie like to believe themselves as heroes that are saving Raphtalia and Firo from Naofumi's slavery, they are proven to be incompetent in taking care of the children.
  • Conflict Ball: Consevatie stirs up a huge conflict onto the Shield Hero's party by using them as the scapegoats that got Lautrec's goddess to go on a rampage against multiple soldiers. To make things even worst, Consevatie's Slut-Shaming towards Mein in chapter 95 eventually escalates into convincing Cromwell into thinking all of the Shield Hero's companions are in someway responsible for Web!Raphtalia's arrival. What results afterwards if the separation of Mein and Naofumi from the rest of their party to escape the clutches of the Three Heroes Church wanting to arrest them.
  • Crazy Jealous Guy: Having Raphtalia as a personal slave in particular, Consevatie forces her to remain subservient in a relationship with him. Anyone else attempting to touch Raphtalia will prompt Consevatie to give them nasty insults, a beating with his punches, and death at worst. Other women that may attempt to take his attention away to Raphtalia, Consevatie bruises them off in favor of having Raphtalia as his Beautiful Slave Girl.
  • Crouching Moron, Hidden Badass: Downplayed: Consevatie genuinely qualifies as a moron for his lack of knowledge on politics, since his plans and goals hinge on fueling his own ego as A God Am I within Medea. For all of his stupidity, it does not stop Consevatie from being a threat where he has the massive resources and manpower of the Three Heroes Church backing him up. Therefore, underestimating Consevatie could cause enemies to be defeated by getting caught in his unconventionally stupid plans.
  • Damned by Faint Praise: His idiocy has gotten so mindbogglingly extreme at times that others will "praise" Consevatie for how prideful he is at being Know-Nothing Know-It-All.
  • Dark Messiah: His justification to lift himself as a god above the summoned Legendary Heroes is that because of his modern world knowledge that came with him as a reincarnator, Consevatie wants to use his godlike presence to lure everyone in as a leader that must be served and followed.
  • Dastardly Whiplash: Lampshaded. In Mein's comment at chapter 128 where she describes his actions of betraying Jackson earlier in chapter 128, Consevatie's smugness is highlighted by how he twirls around his mustache.
Mein's Thoughts: (Consevatie the Younger did betray Jackson back in the capital in the most smug, mustache twirling way possible.)
  • Dead Man's Switch: A major possibility Naofumi's party theorizes on Consevatie is that the latter connected his slave seals on Raphtalia, Firo, and all other potential slaves as a safety measure that if he dies, then all the slaves connected to him would die as an indirect consequence.
  • Dead Serious: To establish Consevatie as a more serious threat than just a guy wishing to start off petty conflicts against the Shield Hero, he gets Kyubey killed in Naofumi and Mein's escape in chapter 95.
  • Didn't Think This Through: A major flaw in how he plans, and with most of his success being done out of pure luck and resources, Consevatie never takes the time to consider the long-term consequences of his actions backfiring on him.
    • Capturing Naofumi and Malty, where the two most influential and threatening figures are besides his feet, Consevatie allows himself to be persuaded in keeping the two as slaves by his Treacherous Advisor, Bartfort. Having Malty and Naofumi as slaves, Consevatie plans a public execution or a life-sentence of humiliation by himself. However, any of those options would have backfired on Consevatie's reputation to the public, or eventually allow a rescue operation to save Naofumi and Malty.
    • Using the God Crafting ritual on a tree near Balafon, Consevatie creates Bed-Chan as a means to boost his ego of a unique achievement that can, in his mind, put him above Legendary Heroes. But by taking the God Crafting as an option, Consevatie could have risked creating an out-of-control monster, as shown with the previous times God Crafting was used in history.
  • Diligent Hero, Slothful Villain: To the Legendary Heroes he defames as losers only being good with their Legendary Weapons, they at least live up to the expectations of a hero working themselves in the frontlines to battle the Waves of Catastrophe and the Three Heroes Church. Consevatie, in contrast, is an ally of the Three Heroes Church, but rarely ever puts himself in the frontlines, as the only times he ever appears to confront his enemies is only when they are defeated.
  • Dirty Coward: He hid among the soldiers fighting in the third wave and is not mentioned throughout the event, which makes him out as a coward that did nothing behind everyone's back and suffers from Moral Myopia into thinking Mein was a coward that decided a reasonable decision to run away at the goddess wanting her death.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: His form of punishment at having to listen to Raki yelling out "The Reason You Suck" Speech at his incompetence, is to have him be executed by Roger of Ajax for the insult.
  • Dramatically Missing the Point: Finding out about the deaths of his cousin Mark, and rest of his men were killed by a mountain landslide in chapter 130, Consevatie puts his main concern at celebrating to the death of Mark. At the same time, Consevatie misses out on the fact that a majority of his men were killed in the landslide, which only baffles his allies to the tremendous resources Consevatie is ignoring.
  • Drill Sergeant Nasty: To give Firo and Raphtalia their personal Training from Hell by himself, Consevatie engages the two in combat as a means for them to get stronger. Additionally, if he is not satisfied with the results, he either cranks up the difficulty of the training by Sister Amelia firing air projectiles, or be placing the blame on Raphtalia for being too weak to defend herself.
  • Dogged Nice Guy: Deconstructed. He forces himself to act polite be seen as a master for Raphtalia and Firo to trust in, but because of the cruelty he enacts upon others, and being the one that took them away from the people they truly care about, Consevatie fails to reciprocate any loyalty he expects from Raphtalia and Firo.
  • Enemy Civil War: He keeps getting into fights with his own allies of the Three Heroes Church or in noble houses who have sided with him, as the only type of allegiance he wants is where people grovel before him without question. Otherwise, Consevatie would beat them up either for a disagreement, or because he sees their behavior as an attack on his pride.
  • Enemy Mine: Downplayed. Under any circumstances, his allies do not like being near him and are always frustrated by his nonsensical decisions done only to fuel his ego. However, the only exception Consevatie is tolerated on is when people work with him to have better opportunities to kill the Shield Hero out of their own personal reasons.
  • Enraged by Idiocy: Whatever major action Consevatie takes on, a common response both allies and enemies will have of him is to be fueled by rage at his short-sighted plans that exist to screw over everyone, and eventually himself with nothing that can be used to benefit from.
  • Entertainingly Wrong: At times, his idiocy reaches peaks so extreme that whatever conclusion he comes too just ends up being Insane Troll Logic for anyone to take seriously.
  • Entitled to Have You: Anytime he were to encounter a woman he feels attracted to or desires them to become one of the people to blindly follow him, Consevatie will rely on portraying himself as the embodiment of masculinity, or to flaunt on what resources House Consevatie can provide.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Deconstructed. In a twisted form of love beneath his sexist remarks towards Raphtalia, Consevatie cares enough for her wellbeing to have Sister Amelia heal her from all the beatings Raphtalia took from Firo in chapter 118. Despite the strange form of love, Consevatie's own ego to flaunt himself still blinds him from being able to properly nurture her, making whatever relationship Consevatie wants from Raphtalia to be abusive.
  • Eviler than Thou: As payback for Bartfort's inconsiderate attitude to touch Raphtalia and for believing everyone to be beneath him, Consevatie gives him an Extreme Mêlée Revenge to demonstrate how much better he himself is at subjugating everyone to his knees.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good:
    • Anytime a man does something generous for his woman or if a hero is risking their life to save a woman, Consevatie labels those types of actions as a way of simping, instead of looking into the altruistic motives as something real heroes hold in regards.
    • Thinking up as to why Raphtalia is unable to withstand and grow stronger at the Training from Hell he gave her in chapter 131, Consevatie blames Mein for purposely "pampering" Raphtalia to keep the latter weak, so that Mein herself can hog up all of Naofumi's attention. However, in truth, Mein had acted as a surrogate mother that earned Raphtalia's trust, despite the initial racism, while Consevatie bases his thinking purely on a strengthening perspective.
  • Evil Gloating:
    • Victories he is able to pull off, no matter if they are laced with dirty cheats or are provided with an unfair advantage, Consevatie enjoys rubbing his wins at the face of his victims, and takes things further by mocking what got them to fail, all while he ignores his own weaknesses.
    • Deconstructed. Gloating his intentions or boasting of how great he in the midst of battle proves to be a horrible idea every time, as it allows every enemy or and unexpected event to harm him while he is busy blabbering his mouth.
  • Evil Laugh: Getting hailed by praises or being at the height of victory to rub into the faces of his enemies will be what triggers him to laugh evilly as a way to celebrate.
    • Having Raphtalia and Firo as his slaves, Consevatie enjoys dominating them with a laugh at every chance he gets at chapter 112, while they remain stagnant in defiance from their slave seals.
    • Consevatie pulls out a more maniacal version of a laugh in the same chapter from hearing Sister Amelia submit herself by proclaiming him to every nearby noble that he is god.
    • He pulls off a laugh to mock Naofumi for looking like a simp by risking his life to save Mein or Raphtalia in chapter 118, when all Naofumi can do is sit back being a captured victim.
  • Evil Versus Evil: Consevatie and Bartfort who are both equally horrible Hate Sinksare paired up against each other in a fight, where the former is on an Extreme Mêlée Revenge to attack Bartfort for attempting to take his woman, Raphtalia, away from him in chapter 112.
  • Extreme Mêlée Revenge: He goes into pummeling Leon Bartfort's face with his fists all while engaging Punctuated Pounding in chapter 112 to create a message that he will allow no one to touch Raphtalia and his Power Fantasy.
  • Fall Guy: Siegmar succeed in getting the church to have Malty take the blame for the goddess rampaging in chapter 94. He does so by framing Malty as a coward running away from the goddess only interested in killing her, while ignoring that he himself is a coward that hid among the crowd of soldiers and that the goddess was blinded by her biased assumptions.
  • Fatal Flaw:
    • Hedonism. Motivated by a desire to fulfill his wishes as a god through glory, pleasure, and victories, Consevatie's false sense of security clouds his judgement for the long-term. As his cravings for personal satisfaction grows out of control, his idiocy also reaches peaks where his attempts to bring himself up high only end up causing problems to others and himself for the future.
    • Idiocy. Being a complete idiot that never thinks of the consequences of what actions he plans, Consevatie's once great strength he had to subjugate all his opposing enemies slowly shows his cracks. From only his massive resources being whittled down and connections being cut off by both his self-serving motives and idiocy to think things through, Consevatie's stupidity brings him closer to his doom.
    • Pettiness. Having so much of an ego and vindictiveness to get payback on people he believes have wronged him in someway, his actions to take revenge end up being counterintuitive into severing whatever connections that once brought him in high society. Soon enough, his spiteful crimes to the people he hates ends up fueling many of his [[Hated by All enemies to be filled with the rage to always be on high alert to plot against him.
  • Faux Affably Evil: Keeping around Raphtalia and Firo as his slaves, Consevatie treats them with a false sense of kindness that fails to drive any conformity in the luxuries he has basked them with. When Raphtalia or Firo act "ungrateful" to him and want to come back to their original companions, Consevatie will drop whatever well-mannered attitude he displayed to give them a nasty scolding or dominate them further with his ego.
  • Feet of Clay: He got the reputation as the Shield Hero's capturer, making Consevatie a man praised for the act, but beneath all the compliments exposes Consevatie to be someone with an ego too overblown to think on the long run.
  • Fireballs: He generates a powerful ball of flames out of his hand that he intends to burn down all Malty, Naofumi, and Kyubey in a single shot at chapter 95.
  • First Injury Reaction: Spending much of his time in the story off the fields of combat, and simply getting lucky with his plans to take victories against his enemies, Consevatie getting up in a fight against Elhard, results in the former's jaw shattered for his inability to apply real focus in their fight. Angered by how painful it was to endure a direct hit from a warhammer, Consevatie screams a demand at Sister Amelia to kill all that have hurt him in chapter 119.
  • Foil:
    • He share some similarities of the Three Heroes that have been summoned to save Medea. Though the Three Heroes started off with misguided worldviews on how Medea functions, since they see the world as something based off of video games, they ultimately gave up their initial thinking and saw everyone as real people they need to save as heroes. Consevatie, meanwhile, has an I Reject Your Reality attitude where he dismisses the words of everyone and sees all as mindless NPCs. Furthermore, despite Consevatie's claims to be superior for his otherworldly knowledge, but he puts no thoughts into his planning and consequences, which is something all Four Heroes learned something about adapting to Medea's society.
    • To Naofumi. Both were modern-world people that were brought to Medea via magical means, but their behavior and actions soon act as what differ them as opposites to each other.
      • While Naofumi initially bought Raphtalia and Firo as slaves, he did so to bring them freedom, and ultimately chose to willingly freedom once Itsuki comes to expose all the rights slavery itself takes away. Meanwhile in Consevatie's case, he captures Raphtalia and Firo from Naofumi to turn them into slaves. Even worst, Consevatie badmouths Naofumi for being a horrible slave master, despite Consevatie being the one to have enslaved Raphtalia and Firo in the first place, coupled with the poor treatment he gives them.
      • When it comes to treating Raphtalia and Firo, Naofumi does so in a way that they are children that need constant care and nourishment of a parent to guide them in their adventures together. Compared to Consevatie, thinks of himself as a kind master, believing all he needs to attend to Raphtalia and Firo's care is to provide them with high society treatment. However, everything Consevatie does ends up backfiring on him, since he treats Raphtalia and Firo as his glorified trophies, or beautiful babes meant to empower his arrogance.
    • To Malty. Consevatie being the pampered noble he is, he places all his success in skills he proclaims himself as having, due to his modern knowledge, but just comes off as a complete idiot by many. Malty on the other hand, though having her share of underestimation of her planning skills, she does not make pointlessly stupid decisions, and can at least be wary of future consequences. As Consevatie bases his actions more on immediate satisfaction of his own ego, and immense luck to be thrusted high upon society, Malty bets on leaving her pampered life as a princess to make an effort in maintaining the life of a commoner, with the ultimate goal to become queen. Though Malty is put to many losses either out of bad luck or the unexpected consequences of others, she always finds a way to improve herself, all while Consevatie remains stagnant of whatever skills he might acquire, as he spends his time hoarding over his victories and riches.
  • Giver of Lame Names: Using the God Crafting ritual to give power to a random tree in the mountains strong power to become his exotic pet, Consevatie named the plant as the "Bed of Chaos", but is left unaware that the tree is a sentient being only wishing to live a peaceful life.
  • Glory Hound: Once he successfully captures Malty and Naofumi with the fake Vicar Vittorio trap he laid out for them, Consevatie is quick to claim the victory as his own to horde in on all the glory that it was his own planning that brought him success.
  • A God Am I: Believing himself to be someone that was granted a great purpose to be reincarnated into Medea, Consevatie views himself as a mighty god above the Legendary Heroes themselves, because he sees his greatness comes from his leadership and the Heroes' weapons empowering them.
  • Groin Attack: He delivers the finishing move to knock out Bartfort from defying him any further by stomping on his groin while he lays flat on the floor in chapter 112.
  • Hated by All: Anyone who has met Siegmar will hate him for his Jerkass attitude and dismissive talk he gives to everyone he meets. Siegmar acts so prideful and prickly that people who interact with him find that it's impossible to change his mind no matter how much effort is put. The closest he can ever get to changing his mind is if a situation presents itself to be exploited.
  • Hate Sink: From the moment he is introduced into the story, he acts as a complete Jerkass that frequently engages in Slut-Shaming near Malty. To anyone else, he dismisses their efforts as being pathetic and Sieg is described by Richard as the type of person who is It's All About Me by being willing to eat all the cakes while everyone starves.
  • The Hedonist: As part of his Fatal Flaw and main motivation for most of his actions, Consevatie puts most of his plans based on what will fuel his ego and bring pleasure to himself in the most satisfying manner possible. At the detriment of his allies and enemies, Consevatie's hedonism to fulfill all his hearts greatest desires are what push him to take on the most idiotic decisions that ruin the lives of everyone, all for his short ego boost.
  • Heroic Wannabe: He sees himself as a "hero" that everyone can look up to, and for every opposing person and faction to tremble before. However, all his grandiose displays are setback by his incompetence as an idiot and sheer cruelty that makes him be Hated by All.
  • Hope Crusher: If trying to capture and defeat his enemies to grovel on his feet is not enough, Consevatie will engage into his Evil Gloating as best as he can to break the will of his enemies from continuing to oppose the rule he wants to expand.
  • Hostage Situation: Since the enslavement of Raphatlia and Firo to the Church of the Three Heroes, Consevatie is able to use them as a leverage that if he were to die, the slave crest put onto them would indirectly lead to their deaths, meaning that the Three Legendary Heroes can't just kill Consevatie.
  • Humiliation Conga: By the time Balafon is attacked in a jailbreak led by the main characters, Consevatie is left humiliated in many forms that includes getting trapped inside Bed-Chan's roots, being stomped on the toes by Malty seeking retribution, losing Raphtalia and Firo as his slaves, and receiving a betrayal by Ren who could not stand him. Even after what Consevatie had lost, he still remains oblivious to his mistakes and unbearable ego being what's exploited as his greatest weaknesses.
  • Hypocrite:
    • He likes to claim moral superiority that he is rescuing Raphtalia and Firo from Naofumi being their slave master, but Consevatie contracts all his righteousness that wants to actively keep Raphtalia as his own slaves, all while Naofumi was the one that freed them from slavery in the first place.
  • For all the claims he likes to say that Raphtalia is his babe to keep under his watch, Consevatie has no problems have to watch her be brutalized by Firo, and can only feel a small sense of worry at Raphtalia being close to death in chapter 118.
  • Idiot Houdini: Exaggerated. As a part in what makes him a horrible Hate Sink, Consevatie is a complete idiot that does not know how the world of Medea's politics work, since he the knowledge he likes to rely on is full of being a Wrong Genre Savvy. Yet despite all the foolish decisions he has made over the course of the story, Consevatie only grows in power by having the Three Heroes Church's mass resources be his main advantage to crush all rebellions and Legendary Heroes who could possibly go against him.
  • Idle Rich: Having the inheritance of House Consevatie and the provided men of the Three Heroes Church, Consevatie spends his time in the story taking the backseat all while others do the heavy lifting for him. If Consevatie is ever to be present in the story, he is either mentioned to basking himself in feasts inside of his mansion, or be a non-action individual that only has his soldiers be doing all the fighting for him.
  • I Know Mortal Kombat: Deconstructed. Having awareness of the Isekai genre, or a video game player in his previous life, Consevatie believes himself to be all-knowing of Medea's worldly functions, as he believes all that is required is his modern knowledge to surpass everyone. However, by applying all his modern perspective, he blinds himself from respecting anyone as living beings, and underestimates those that have a different way of thinking compared to him.
  • Insufferable Imbecile: He lacks any sort of political smarts to navigate the game of thrones, and while he may be the main heir that will inherit House Consevatie, Siegmar Isaac Octavius Consevatie spends most of his time stirring up petty conflicts for Malty and the Shield Hero's party. Consevatie may want to have more power for himself, but a lot of his actions are directed towards spiting his enemies,
  • Internal Reveal: Malty, who has been keeping her princess identity as a secret from Raphtalia is revealed by Consevatie in chapter 112 as his way of besmirching her good name into Raphtalia hating her.
  • I Reject Your Reality: Deconstructed. Consevatie rejects the way Medea's people think over his origins as an reincarnated individual, as he believes that the knowledge exclusive to himself is all that he needs in proving he is superior to everyone. A huge downside to Consevatie's mindset is that while he does have knowledge exclusive to himself, they are not applicable for how vastly different Medea operates than what he thinks it works.
  • I Surrender, Suckers: Just as he is knocked to the ground by Jaune and the latter believing the duel to be over, Jaune sticks his hand out to Sieg in the name of their sportsmanship and to focus on clearing out the undead scourge. Rather than accept defeat, Sieg instead smacks Jaune in the head with his mace and declares himself as the winner, despite clearly having lost. Sieg's justification was that Jaune let his guard down, even though Jaune had given up fighting fair and square.
  • I Will Punish Your Friend For Failure: Due to his idiocy not understanding how Raphtalia feels being near him, and punishing anyone that interacts with her, he ends up tormenting her with guilt that anyone else that gets involved with her is hurt in someway by him.
  • Lethally Stupid: Consevatie, being the idiot he is, does a god-crafting ritual to give life to Bed-Chan sometime in chapter 126. However, all Consevatie did is make Bed-Chan a hostile creature that hates the Three Heroes Church for its poor treatment to her looking only like a monster Consevatie is using to beef up his ego.

    J-Z
  • Jawbreaker: The direct contact on the face with Elhard's warhammer in chapter 119 causes Consevatie's jaw to crack from the inside.
  • Jerkass: Most of the interactions he has with anyone he dislikes is to talk condescendingly towards them and never agrees with any other opinion that slightly differs to his. At every opportune moment, he uses it to further his own goals, without consideration on what others might feel.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty:
    • Downplayed. Not that he is given a real punishment, but Consevatie receives a painful Jawbreaker from Elhard in chapter 119, and experiences a small dose of physical retribution to all the Evil Gloating and Smug Snake ego of himself being the one who will conquer all of the Legendary Heroes to his will.
    • After spending most of the story hogging up undeserved rewards such as Raphtalia and Firo as his slaves, and getting a lucky victory against the main characters for himself to gloat about, Consevatie finally gets what's coming to him once the main characters launch an attack in Balafon village in chapter 132, where many of the villagers are liberated. Amongst the chaos, Consevatie is locked in place by Bed-Chan, allowing Malty to confront him for everything he did, and give him "The Reason You Suck" Speech to break his ego. Even further, Consevatie loses his control over Raphtalia and Firo as his slaves, all while remaining stationary in being unable to do anything.
    • Even more in chapter 133, despite managing to escape Bed-Chan's roots with the assistance of Sister Amelia, Consevatie is still humiliated with more karmic punishments coming from Set's betrayal as payback for all the crimes he committed against the civilians, and Firo and Raphtalia escaping his clutches permanently with Naofumi and Malty.
  • Killed Mid-Sentence: Just as a church templar chastises Raphtalia for helping the Balafon Elder, Consevatie makes a sudden appearance to kill the templar, as so the latter is silenced from making anymore further insults to Raphtalia being the woman he owns.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Moments of tranquility for the main characters or for the other Three Heroes are cut short once Consevatie enters the view to have the story focus on the cruelty he displays towards Raphtalia and Firo as his slaves, along with his Smug Snake behavior when he gets lucky to rub his victories in the face of people.
  • Know-Nothing Know-It-All: He holds himself up high believing that his superiority over Medea is because he has knowledge coming off his modern world. Yet despite the advantages he claims to have, Consevatie never makes any long-term thinking in any of his plans and instead would rather gratify himself as A God Am I.
  • Loose Lips: He always declares his intention and makes a fuss about how great he is, but forgets that the constant announcements only exposes him as the type of person that drives away possible allies, and draws attention as himself being the main enemy.
  • Lost in a Crowd: He may blame Mein and slander her as a Dirty Coward for running away at the goddess who only wanted to target her, but Consevatie himself is also an even bigger coward for hiding among the masses of soldiers fighting in the third wave and making no noticeable feats of his own to stand out.
  • Lured into a Trap: He forms a fake Vicar Vittorio trap by spreading a public message of his appearance near the Melromarc capital, so that Mein and Naofumi are lured to take the bait, and be captured.
  • Make an Example of Them:
    • His order for Roger of Ajax to have Raki killed is to bring a message to everyone he got captured in chapter 118 that those who insult his efforts to achieve victory are to be put to death, regardless of what age.
    • After personally murdering his church templar for the latter's attack on Raphtalia being an indirect insult that affects his ego in chapter 130, Consevatie hopes to inspire fear within his men that anyone who follows exactly what the church templar did will meet the same fate of death.
Consevatie: Raphtalia may be a slave, but she's MY slave. Any disrespect towards her, is disrespect towards me. And I will tolerate none of it. Let this be a lesson to all of you. I will not hesitate to split the head of anyone who mistreats my girls just because they aren't human. Anyone who disagree, you better hope you can beat me in battle. And I would not give any of you a second chance like I did to that little shit Bartfort. Have I made myself clear?
  • Meaningful Name: Using his full name, Siegmar Isaac Octavious Consevatie, he gives off an Overly Long Name. When his name is shorted to just is initials, however, it spells out SIOC. In fanfiction terms, SIOC is a combined words of Self-Insert Original Character. In a way, Consevatie makes himself out as a self-insert believing the world serves him and should revere him as a god.
  • Miles Gloriosus: Any success that happens to him, Consevatie will use his "skills" or "knowledge" that he has on the back of his mind as his justifications, all while he remains ignorant of his stupidity or blind opportunisms to steal whatever available credit he can get his hands on.
  • The Millstone: Sieg is willing to start up fights with anyone he wishes to spite or has a petty grudge against. Even when those same people he hates are part of his Three Heroes Church faction, Consevatie wants to have his fellow church members go into a fight, just for teaming up with the Shield Hero who had willingly assisted them against the Undead Scourge.
  • Make an Example of Them: Consevatie has Bartfort endure an Extreme Mêlée Revenge that gives him Facial Horror in chapter 112, and once Bartfort lays down on the floor, no one arrives to assist the latter from his injuries in order to demonstrate anyone choosing to question Consevatie.
  • Mook Depletion: He lost several of his House Consevatie and church knights by an unexpected mountain landslide, yet Consevatie's Skewed Priorities make him celebrate at the death of Mark, rather than be worried at the loss of resources endangering his remaining soldiers.
  • Moral Myopia:
    • To degrade Malty into making her out as a Dirty Coward in chapter 95, Sieg insults her for running away from the goddess who was only interested in killing her. This is despite Sieg being an even bigger coward by hiding among the masses of soldiers that are fighting in the third wave to save his own skin. To make his supposed disgust make him even more of a Jerkass Hate Sink, Malty was the one being brave in coming back to the frontlines of the battle to protect Naofumi and Raphtalia in their Darkest Hour.
    • He goes under a Malicious Slander in making Naofumi out as a horrible slave master exploiting Raphtalia and Firo, while at the same time, Consevatie enslaved Raphtalia and Firo as his own slaves for the Three Heroes Church. To further heighten Consevatie's hypocrisy, he even has Raphtalia and Firo call him the "Master", yet disallows them from calling Naofumi as the real master.
    • Having Firo and Raphtalia as slaves, he will punish anyone that treats them harshly either by racism or personal pettiness, but remains oblivious to the fact that he himself fails to properly nurture to Raphtalia and Firo as slaves, coupled with wanting to keep them as part of his way to stroke his ego.
    • "The Reason You Suck" Speech that Consevatie gives to Bartfort in chapter 112 is to teach the latter that he is nothing more than an idiot that is underestimating the difficulties Medea is going to throw, as he thinks the world is wish-fulfillment Power Fantasy. Going from the same speech itself, those same words also apply to Consevatie treating everyone as though they are NPC's he can trash talk without consequences and expects everyone to bow down before him.
  • More Insulting than Intended: Making a slanderous prediction as to what Malty in chapter 131 would do if Naofumi were to die in the mountain slide, Consevatie thinks of her abandoning all of Naofumi's goals for the sake of allying herself with another Legendary Hero for her own benefits. While Consevatie wanted to insult to be hurtful in everyway for Malty, he lacks the awareness to find out that the latter had disguisedherself nearby and was hurt by what she had to hear.
  • Myopic Conqueror: He wants to conquer everything in Medea and have the world treat him as god, but lacks the intellect and interest in ruling over the actual place, since he places most of his focus on radiating his superiority as a victor over his enemies.
  • Mythology Gag:
  • Never a Self-Made Woman: Invoked. He insults Malty's efforts to ascend and become queen by calling her out as a woman who can't achieve anything by herself and that the only way she can get ahead in life is to serve a big, heroic man. On top of siding with a legendary hero, Sieg mocks her for choosing Naofumi as her partner, since all the other heroes have their own flaws that make them detrimental to Malty's goal.
  • Never My Fault:
    • Consevatie insults or deconstructs the character traits of the people he hates, and if he were to attempt to start up pointless conflicts, he would never think it was his fault, so he just tries to find an obscure reason to blame someone.
    • Whatever failure that befalls him, he puts the blame on someone else causing his downfall, rather to admit his own idiocy and pride is what blinds him from thinking straight.
    • Giving Raphtalia and Firo a Training from Hell as a means to get them stronger, but failing to grasp on their increased strength, Consevatie puts the fault on Raphtalia being too much of a coward to accept his supposed "generosity", but can't comprehend the two as children that need nurturing support.
  • No, Mr. Bond, I Expect You to Dine: Consevatie gives Raphtalia and Firo the luxurious home and food of what high-ranking nobles would receive when he has them as his slaves, and so he could find a way to buy their loyalty into serving him.
  • Non-Action Big Bad: Being the Idle Rich brat he is, Consevatie spends his time away from his frontlines soldiers doing all the fighting, all while he relaxes in peace inside of his mansion. If he ever decides to "fight" along with his soldiers, he'll only appear when the battle is over to reign victorious over his foes or be standing away from the carnage. Otherwise if he engages in a direct fight on his own, he can be easily beaten and wounded.
  • Not Hyperbole: He is commonly known by everyone as a the most idiotic person leading the Three Heroes Church, but Consevatie has at times surpassed the expectations of others by being so dumb, that no one can fathom just how extreme his stupidity is.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain:
    • As much of a Hate Sink he may be, most of his actions revolved around attempting to start petty conflicts to fulfill his personal grudge against Malty and Naofumi, but they always fail Siegmar in the end. A big exception ends up being in chapter 95, as Consevatie's Slut-Shaming, and for treating Mein and Naofumi as if they are responsible for the mess of the third wave, Consevatie gets the backup needed from Confessor Cromwell to frame them as fugitives. To further establish just how much more dangerous Sieg is, he manages to get Kyubey killed by unleashing a fireball in an attempt to stop Mein and Naofumi from escaping.
    • Additionally, even if many characters note on Consevatie being an idiot equates to the latter being an easy target to defeat, it does not take away the fact that Consevatie is backed up by lots of manpower, resources, and a hidden element of surprise from the Three Heroes Church. As such, underestimating him for his idiocy can result in a humiliating defeat, even if his long-term plans doom him in the end.
  • Obliviously Evil: Seeing everyone in Medea to be video game characters, Consevatie behaves like a complete Jerkass demeaning all as beneath him, and whatever crimes he commits, Consevatie justifies all as righteous and well-deserved, because he believes himself as The Chosen Wannabe that can stomp out all the consequences to be handed victories.
  • Oblivious to His Own Description: "The Reason You Suck" Speech he gives to Bartfort as a way to point out the flaws that make him a weak person is also a completely accurate description that applies to Consevatie himself. Only difference is that Consevatie believes himself to be the protagonist above all consequences and weaknesses that may affect his horrible behavior.
  • Original Position Fallacy: Consevatie himself is fine at being a misogynistic towards other women being play toys he can try to charm with his pickup lines or smooth talk, but anyone else threatening to do the same to the women he owns, such as Raphtalia being his Beautiful Slave Girl, Consevatie is fiercely possessive in wanting himself being the only one that owns her with no competition.
  • Open Secret: Raphtalia has made an effort to not reveal her status as the lost princess of Q'Ten Lo, Consevatie exposes her by knowing he already knows her real identity in chapter 112, and that she should be grateful for finally being able to live what it means to have a royal life, regardless of having taken away Raphtalia from her surrogate family.
  • Opportunistic Bastard: Any chance a person makes a suggestion or a plan he perceives as cool, Consevatie will jump on it without any caution if it means a chance for him to hog all the glory a perceived victory in the face grants him.
  • Overly Long Name: While other members of House Consevatie have their last name having the house title, Siegmar Isaac Octavius takes the spot in having the longest name of the house members.
  • Pædo Hunt: Just to be a more despicable person, Consevatie keeps Raphtalia, who is a child, as a slave and demands her to call him "Master Consevatie". It's even worst that because Raphtalia has the ability to make herself looking like an adult, Consevatie is likely to call her his "babe". To the other heroes, all of them are steaming from their rage and can barely hold themselves into punching the guy.
  • Parental Favoritism: Though he likes Raphtalia's obeying him in a way where she never makes a fuss or question of his authority, Consevatie places more value on Firo, because of the latter's fighting prowess surpassing Raphtalia.
  • Parody Sue: Consevatie is the deconstruction to the concept of what a Jerk Sue and Einstein Sue is. His unbearably Jerkass attitude comes from being reincarnated into a pampered noble believing that world exists to serve him and he sees his intellect to be superior to everyone else in Medea because of his modern knowledge, despite never having put the effort to study how the people of Medea manage themselves.
  • Personal Hate Before Common Goals: He has plenty of allies that can be useful in helping him fulfill his and their goals with a mutualistic agreement. However, because Consevatie prioritizes his goals above others and refuses to compromise or value anyone as an equal, his allies hate him behind his back.
  • Pet the Dog: Downplayed. Beneath his massive ego to view himself as A God Am I above all the people of Medea, and a Straw Misogynist always seeking to promote his own masculinity at the cost to humiliate those that oppose him, Consevatie shows a small amount of kindness by worrying enough for Raphtalia's injuries in chapter 118, that he asks for Sister Amelia to heal her. For all the sexism and creepiness he shows to possess Raphtalia as a woman he owns, Consevatie gets to show the small amount of care he has for her, even if they are mostly misguided to make himself the dominant figure in her life.
  • Playing with Fire: Consevatie gets to show off his magical fire skills by being able to get Kyubey killed in his Heroic Sacrifice to stop Consevatie's fireball from hitting Naofumi and Mein.
  • Psychotic Smirk: He shows off his smug smirks with taints of villainy as his way to display grandeur to the people he gets to grovel before him, or being able to defeat someone as a way to progress more of himself as dominant.
  • Punctuated Pounding: Each punch he delivers to Bartfort in chapter 112 contains a single sentence which deconstructs the concept of Bartfort's misguided worldview thinking Medea was going to be a fantasy world filled with idiots and slutty ladies meant only to flaunt their own victories.
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: Consevatie's speech to Bartfort is to describe the latter's flaws for underestimating how Medea functions and that everything was supposedly going to be cake walk for him to act like a Smug Snake. At the same time, however, Consevatie's same speech in chapter 112 also describes him as someone lacking the self-awareness to realize he is an Insufferable Imbecile incapable of navigating Medea on his own without extreme luck and his social status.
  • Reassigned to Antarctica: Lampshaded. Mein observing him from afar in chapter 122, she suspects him to be moving away from the Melromarc capital to an unimportant location, so that Cromwell can falsely credit Consevatie without having to deal with the latter making idiotic choices near the center of the problem.
  • Reincarnate in Another World: Deconstructed. He was a person that lived a modern day life on Earth, until he was brought into the world of Medea by being born under the identity known as Siegmar Isaac Octavius Consevatie. Being born as a pampered noble, Consevatie's ego is fed into believing he owns everyone in Medea, as he has access to exclusive otherworldly knowledge, all while he ignores the further knowledge of how Medea's social structures function.
  • Rewarded as a Traitor Deserves: All while he remains ungrateful towards a Balafon commoner wishing to be loyal to him under the threat of fear, Consevatie is attacked and betrayed from behind by Set wishing to get revenge for Consevatie's cruelty, and his tendency to betray everyone in a short-sighted effort to be a Glory Hound.
  • Sadist: Anytime an enemy he hates is suffering or is there someone he wishes to personally spite, Consevatie will find a way to let out his arrogant smile to cheer on their failure to ever harm him.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: He sees himself above the consequences or hinges the victories he is able to attain from the fact he has strong connections and access to the best resources provided to him by House Consevatie or the Three Heroes Church.
  • Sir Swears-a-Lot: If he were to make any degrading insults at someone, expect Consevatie to use lot of profanities in his dialog and refer to the ones he taunts with derogatory terms.
  • Skewed Priorities: Learning the many deaths of Mark and the many soldiers that followed the latter had come from a mountain landslide, Consevatie focuses his attention at cheering himself up with the death of his cousin being able to act as a way to end their rivalry, rather than be worried of enemy intruders that got many of his men killed.
  • Slut-Shaming: In almost every time he meets and interacts with Malty, the best insults he will hurl on her is to call her a slut for using the status of the male legendary heroes to further her own gain.
  • Small Name, Big Ego: He likes to see himself as some sort of mighty god worthy of praise, and will either be dismissal or react violently at people viewing him down as a pathetic rich boy, which is the type of person Consevatie is beyond the grandiose displays he makes of himself.
  • Smug Smiler: If the cards were to be in his hands and if he has something insulting to say to someone, Sieg is likely to be frowning or be wearing an infuriatingly smug smile as his display of dominance.
  • The Sociopath: He hits the checklist of what it means to be a low-functioning type sociopath, as most of his actions are centered towards gratifying himself alone, and because of how huge his ego is, Consevatie believes himself to be the main protagonist in Medea. Viewing himself as the story's main character, Consevatie blocks out any empathy that dares oppose him, seeing enemies and allies alike in a Black-and-White Morality where people against him are always wrong, while those who serve him are the righteous ones. Even to his own allies and Raphtalia in particular, Consevatie's treatment is to have them all suck up to his snobbish attitude as someone who is destined to be great.
  • Spoiler Title: Siegmar Isaac Octavius Consevatie's shorted Meaningful Name being SIOC is an acronym for Self-Insert Original Character reveals his origins as a modern day person that got reincarnated into Medea thinking of himself as the main Villain Protagonist that will be gifted the attention of a god.
  • Straw Fan: The existence of Consevatie is meant to take a jab at The Rising of the Shield Hero's usage of slavery and Naofumi having Raphtalia as his attacker, since Consevatie's behavior has him abuse Raphtalia as a slave to fight for him and treats her as a woman, despite being mentally a child. In Consevatie's case to make Malty suffer at all cost is a reminiscent comparison to Malty in the canon series suffering humiliating events at every turn, never once having the change to take a break.
  • Straw Loser: Lampshaded. As part of "The Reason You Suck" Speech he gives to Bartfort for being so whiny and incompetent as a Hate Sink, Siegmar demands Bartfort to not treat the world where everyone acts like idiot clowns, just so they could justify themselves with easy victories to look powerful. Ironically, the same applies to Consevatie himself, as he treats the world as a game where every enemy will be easy for him to conquer and then be revered as a god.
  • Straw Misogynist:
    • Any interaction he meets with a woman is to give them the worst pickup lines in his failed attempts to court him, and if any reject him, Consevatie is likely to call them sluts. To Raphtalia and Firo being his slaves, Consevatie plays them around as his toys to control, not caring for the discomfort he gives them.
    • To himself and the gender of being a male, he views masculinity at its peak when he alone is the one that can oppress the people he can beat with an unfair system and is quick to dismiss any type of genuine love as an act comparable to simping.
  • Stopped Dead in Their Tracks: Acting all smug in his victory to have lured Naofumi and Malty into a trap to have them grovel at their knees before him, Consevatie's assurance of his victory and dismissal of everyone is put to a sudden stop to pay attention at Raki giving "The Reason You Suck" Speech at himself only winning because of an unfair system stacked on his favor.
  • Stupid Evil:
    • He acts nasty to everyone he meets and to the allies he works with such as the Three Heroes Church, Consevatie does everything in his power to convince them to attack the Shield Hero and the other Church expedition out of spite. Even when he is warned by Sunstrider of how foolish of a decision it would be to assassinate the Shield Hero, Sieg still wants to do it For the Evulz and his pride.
    • As horrible as it was for him to enslave Malty with a slave seal, he ends up being too lazy or forgetful to apply punishing conditions onto her slave seal, so once Malty is given an opportunity to switch ownership with Naofumi to minimize the slave seal's effects on her, Consevatie fails to ever have the chance to properly control her.
  • Suddenly Shouting: All while he is busy demeaning Malty and Naofumi as worthless people that won't pose a threat to him in chapter 131, Consevatie suddenly shouts in a panic that Raphtalia had "kissed" the Balafon Elder. To prevent another situation where the woman he owns does not kiss another person besides himself, Consevatie tasks Sister Amelia to have a watchful eye on Raphtalia.
  • Sudden Name Change: His surname from his introduction and initial appearances name him as Octavius, but chapter 112 slightly changes the surname to Octavia.
  • Surprisingly Sudden Death: Just as a church templar minds his business in an attempt to whip Raphtalia in chapter 130, Consevatie makes a sudden Villainous Rescue to Raphtalia by suddenly splitting the templar's head with his axe.
  • Sympathetic Slave Owner: Deconstructed. Just by being a Dogged Nice Guy to Raphtalia and Firo, in which he does not act like his usual Jerkass self where he constantly swears and acts like an obnoxious fool, he believes himself to be a great slave owner worthy of owning them as his loyal women. However, because he remains oblivious to the fact they took them away from the people they care about, and forces them to be in a relationship with him, despite the two being children who have no interest in romance, Consevatie ends up coming off as one of the worst slave owners for Raphtalia and Firo to be kept by.
  • Take Over the World: One of his ultimate goals to become the god of Medea is to conquer all the lands the world has to offer him. However, while he may desire to rule over Medea, he lacks all the capabilities of the necessary resources and knowledge needed to know how everything functions, thereby making Consevatie as a Myopic Conqueror that does not think ahead of what he currently owns.
  • Take That!: In general, his character as a whole is meant to revolve around the trashy Isekais embodying overly confident protagonists who lack a mind to think up of the consequences their actions cause, all while everything they do in an Isekai world is given to them without any real effort applied.
    • Consevatie, delivering "The Reason You Suck" Speech to Bartfort in chapter 112 serves as an allegory for Qinlongfei to deconstruct and rip apart low-grade Isekai genres and Chinese web novels from year 2000 onward, for following a similar format that is nothing more than bad storytelling.
Consevatie: Consevatie: What do you think this is!? A Wish-Fulfillment story written for your narcissistic fantasy?! Where the world is all fucked up for you to fix to justify acting like a smug little shit!? Where all your opponents are incompetent idiot clowns, to make you look smart by comparison!? Where all the pretty women open their legs for you, and let you pick and choose at your leisure!?
    • In chapter 131, he has a sequence with Raphtalia, in which she subjects her to harsh training as a method to get her to reach her full potential, despite the latter's refusal and lack of mastery at physical combat. As a result, Raphtalia is hurt by the training process, and Consevatie cannot get himself to accept his own failure, putting all the blame on Raphtalia being too weak to get herself strong. Applied to the canon series, the training of Consevatie is meant to take a jab at The Rising of the Shield Hero's method of Naofumi's harsh training of Raphtalia. Though Canon!Naofumi's training worked, it is treated as a necessary decision to boost up Raphtalia's levels, but ignores how it possibly affected her psyche and the possible development of Stockholm Syndrome.
  • Talk to the Fist:
    • He punches Bartfort whilst the latter was talking trash at Naofumi, because Consevatie does not want Bartfort to be the one taking the credit for the plan to lure Naofumi and Malty into a trap in chapter 118.
    • Just as he declares himself an opponent Naofumi will have to face in their rematch in chapter 132, Consevatie is suddenly attacked because he wasted his time blabbering for a one-on-one duel.
  • Tall Poppy Syndrome: Lampshaded. Wondering why Raphtalia is not getting stronger from the harsh training he gave her in chapter 131, Consevatie believes the reasons stem from Mein purposely keeping Raphtalia weak under a Cool Big Sis façade, but remains oblivious to himself providing no emotional support to Raphtalia.
Consevatie: I bet it's Slut-Chan wanting to keep you weak, so she can make herself look dear and useful to the shield loser. Surprised she didn't sell you back to slavery like she did to those stupid cheerleaders of the Spear Hero.
  • Tempting Fate: As soon as he claims Elhard's warhammer to be useless against his magical axe, Consevatie's Evil Gloating is immediately cut short by the former using his broken warhammer to slam a Jawbreaker to stop him from trash talking any further.
  • Thin-Skinned Bully: He can dish out plenty of insults and punches to people he hates for a particular reason, but anyone insulting him back will result in Consevatie punishing them in an extreme form of a punishment.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Compared to all the other members of the Three Heroes Church who either use the organization to for their own ambitions of power or a blind path to fulfill their faith, Consevatie is one of the worst amongst them, as he is the most involved dealing with the Legendary Heroes, and he does so to fuel his ego as a worshipped god of Medea.
  • Too Dumb to Live:
    • Consevatie blurts out a demand for his Three Heroes Church members to kill the Shield Hero's party and all the other Church expedition members that have sided with Naofumi. However, an order like that is an idiot move for Consevatie, as it only makes him an unstable member for the Three Heroes Church to be trusted and he is escorted away by Alistair to stop at escalating any potential conflicts.
    • Debatable on whether he was aware of the God Crafting ritual bringing Bed-Chan to life, Consevatie could have easily created a dangerous monster that would have rampaged to kill him and those close to his vicinity, but was lucky that the God Craft did not bring birth to an unstable creature, as demonstrated in historical examples of the ritual's usage.
  • Too Much Alike: Pairing Consevatie up with Bartfort, the two of them contain the same despicable traits that make up a Hate Sink, that being both of them being a Straw Misogynist that sees Raphtalia as their property to own and Legendary Heroes only being cool because of their weapons. Since Consevatie and Bartfort are so stuck-up of their beliefs, the former gets into a fight with Bartfort to degrade him as an NPC inferior to him and for attempting to snag Raphtalia away from him, despite Bartfort's personality being the exact same as Consevatie.
  • Training from Hell: Deconstructed. To boost the powers of Raphtalia and Firo, he trains them by personally engaging in combat against them, along with Sister Amelia providing air projectiles for them to dodge. However, because Raphtalia and Firo are children who have a lack of experience in direct combat, all the training it does to them is give pointless torture that benefits no one.
  • Tyke Bomb: Deconstructed. Keeping Raphtalia and Firo as his slaves, he acts as their personal trainer to boost their strength, but because he makes no effort to make a connection with them, or be understanding that the Training In Hell is only hurting them, Consevatie fails to improve any of their abilities, and the slaves only end up resenting him as a result.
  • Unsexy Sadist: He sees himself as a sort of masculine man ladies should swoon over and a perceptive guy that is capable of giving "The Reason You Suck" Speech to anyone choosing to reject or insult the supposed greatness he radiates. In reality, he is an incredibly petty person with a sense of entitlement that sees women as sluts or his playthings. To be even more pathetic, he hurls several insults to people he has a grudge against with, and never thinks of the consequences he might cause.
  • Upper-Class Twit: He is the heir of the Consevatie House and is a complete idiot in being a political player for the game of thrones, as most of his plans and actions rely on his emotional fragility to spite his enemies out of petty reasons.
  • The Victim Must Be Confused: In chapter 96, He smugly uses the explanation that because Raphtalia and Firo call Naofumi as their master, Consevatie uses it as a way to frame Raphtalia and Firo as slaves being abused. Under the care of the Three Heroes Church, Siegmar proudly proclaims to be protecting Raphtalia and Firo, despite having obviously enslaved and forced them to say what he wants them to say.
  • Viler New Villain: Raphtalia, comparing him to her previous master, Raleigh Consevatie, she sees the latter's treatment as a horrible slave master as tame when compared to how Siegmar Isaac Octavius Consevatie treats her. While Raleigh was nevertheless horrible, he never acted perverted or had self-delusions that thought of himself as a god, just like how Consevatie the Young sees himself.
  • Villain Ball: He gets the perfect opportunity to kill Naofumi and Malty in chapter 118, but because of Bartfort stroking his ego to spare the two as slaves, Naofumi and Malty are given a chance to escape the dungeons they were imprisoned into. Even other characters comment on Consevatie's decision to spare Naofumi and Malty as an incredibly stupid decision made he has no awareness of.
  • Villainous Crush: To Raphtalia once he enslaves her in chapter 98, Consevatie calls her his babe to keep and demands to call him as the master, even though Raphtalia is mentally a child and is only an adult because of her shapeshifting abilities.
  • Villainous Rescue: Wanting Raphtalia to be obedient only to him and her body be kept in pristine condition, Consevatie comes to her rescue in chapter 130, and kills a templar by splitting the latter's head with an axe, as so Raphtalia's body is not whipped.
  • Villain with Good Publicity: Having (temporarily) captured the Shield Hero, and hogging in all the glory he could for himself, Consevatie is hailed by the public as a great messiah that will uplift Melromarc against the enemy nations, so attempts to punish Consevatie could mean causing a violent disarray on the public.
  • Villain Protagonist: Invoked. Viewing Medea as a world where he can live out his best fantasies being the modern reincarnate inside of a body known as Siegmar Isaac Octavius Consevatie, he sees himself as the center of attention the deserves to ascend as a revered god.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: Gender Inverted and Deconstructed. Consevatie, who is male, acts as the one protecting Raphtalia from getting touched by Bartfort in chapter 112. What Consevatie does to Bartfort is to get in a fight against him, and scold him for ever touching his woman. Under normal circumstances, the trope would be used to demonstrate a sense of love and loyalty to a partner, but to Siegmar Isaac Octavius Consevatie, the trope is used to explore his possessive view that Raphtalia is his property.
  • We Have Reserves: No matter what happens to his troops in Balafon, Consevatie pays no attention to how many of their numbers were killed by Naofumi, because of believing himself to be invincible with whatever remaining allies that stick to grovel before his feet.
  • Why Don't You Just Shoot Him?: He got Malty and Naofumi successfully captured in chapter 118, but rather than execute them silently right after gloating to them, Consevatie own ego is taken advantage upon by Bartfort. Too prideful for a silent execution, Consevatie instead opts for a public execution to show himself superior to everyone, but the decision to postpone Malty and Naofumi's death only ends up giving time for rescuers to derail all of Consevatie's plans.
  • Would Hurt a Child: He owns Raphtalia and Firo as his child slaves to bring suffering to them, and to make himself look like a mighty person reigning over te Shield Hero. At Raki, Consevatie orders for his death as a Disproportionate Retribution for having his victories be only associated with his family name and Three Heroes Church supporting his incompetence.
  • Wrong Genre Savvy: Reincarnating into Medea by being born as a member of House Consevatie, he sees the world like a video game where he treats everyone as NPC's. Predicting the world to just be a generic Isekai where everyone is a Straw Loser that he alone can defeat with the modern knowledge he owns from his world, Consevatie is blind to all of Medea's political structures and only cares for satisfying his hedonistic desires.
  • Yandere: Motivated with an obsession to keep Raphtalia and Firo as his tropified slave women for his status and pride, Consevatie will lash out into beating down or resort to murder on anyone that dares interact badly with the women he wishes to keep for himself.
  • You Have Failed Me: As part of a Disproportionate Retribution to a church templar scolding and attempting to whip Raphtalia in chapter 130, Consevatie kills him to flex on his rulership that anyone attempting to hurt Raphtalia will be subjected to a beatdown or death.
  • Your Head Asplode: As punishment to a templar attempting to hurt Raphtalia, Consevatie pulls out his battle axe to split the templar's head in half at chapter 130.
  • You're Nothing Without Your Phlebotinum: He holds a belief that the only reason the Legendary Heroes are ever credited for are because they wield Legendary Weapons exclusive to themselves, and without it, the heroes are nobodies that won't ever be able to stand out on their own.
