openPokemon pre-release complaining?
YMMV.Pokemon Sword And Shield has attracted the following complaints from the lasted preview.
- Internet Backdraft:
- During the Nintendo E3 Treehouse Live for Pokemon Sword & Shield it was revealed that players could only transfer Pokemon that appeared in the Galar region Pokédex to these games using Pokémon Home. This reveal caused a major backlash as many questioned why this was a thing (something not helped by the fact that Game Freak had no problem putting Pokémon who weren't in previous games' respective Pokédexes into said games in the past), and Game Freak or Nintendo has yet to reveal a reason to justify it.
- In the same vein, the reveal that Mega Evolutions and Z-moves were being left out was not taken kindly, especially considering rumors that not only will there be no new ones, but players won't even be able to use pre-existing Mega-Evos and Z-Moves in Sword & Shield.
The later is suspect as Serebii, the reputable source for such, hasn't added that despite adding the Galar Pokédex. It makes me wonder if that statement, which was given in a comparatively throw away manner, is being looked at too critically (maybe it's just replacing it as the primary gimmick, but will be available in some form). That it also released on rumor is suspect. The seeming return of Random Encounters form the first trailer also got backlash until the second one revealed otherwise, making me think it's too soon to judge.
This issue cropped up under FranchiseOriginalSin.Pokemon. Should it wait until the game's actually out to judge (it notes it might be better gameplay wise)?
Should all this be moved to Tainted by the Preview when applicable? Should any Internet Backdraft due to the previews be listed under Tainted instead? And what kind of complaining is Internet Backdraft not (how can we identify misuse of it)?
openAbout searching content by using Tropes
Is it possible to narrow down a list of characters/series by filtering their content thanks to tropes ? Like I’m interested in a specific combination of tropes when I watch series, is it possible to enter their name into the browser in order for it to give me a selection of those which fit under this peculiar subcategory ?
openJapanese Names or English Names?
Pocket Monsters The Animation is a Japanese-only novelization of the Pokemon anime. The examples on it currently use the English names. If it's Japanese-only, shouldn't the names used in the text be used instead?
Edited by Pichu-kunopenFFVII character page new English VAs Videogame
I just wanted to know if I could update the FFVII character pages with the new english voice actors (as well as other information regarding thier appearances in the Remake) seeing as they were just recently announced
openHair made of starlight Literature
Can anyone supply additional information about “Hair made of Starlight,” a literature example listed under “Kaleidoscope Hair” and “I just want to be loved” Tropes? I have not been able to track this title down anywhere. Is it a valid example? The Trope “I just want to be Loved” describes it as “ Rapunzel meets Arabian Nights.”
Thanks for your help!
openYMMV/TokyoAfterschoolSummoners Videogame
I vehemently disagree with the Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy and Play the Game, Skip the Story entries being deleted. First, the troper doesn’t know if one person is “projecting” or if a few people feel this way. Second, whether the majority or otherwise portion of the fanbase feels this way is irrelevant: Christianity is portrayed very negatively in this game. Mythology gets a free pass because it’s cooler? And lastly, I do believe the plot can be stagnant at times with the commentary.
How do I rewrite those entries then so they sound less inflammatory?
Also, I honestly felt targeted for being more conservative than other fellow players of the game. I was not “projecting”. I simply wrote an alternative view of the plot that the majority will simply not consider out of (understandable) hatred for Christianity.
I’ve rewritten the entries to be less inflammatory, but I plan to fight this until the end because I do not feel it’s right.
openVandalism
Kirby Fan 1204 blanked Chromosome Casting, Black-and-Grey Morality and a bunch of newer monster subpages that were still unlocked.

Troper Kirby Fan 1204 has been deleting entire pages of content. Case in point.

acuddle organized Animators, which I'd previously alphabetized by surname, so that it's now organized by given name. I was under the impression that surname is what should be used for organization of creators pages, am I wrong in that?
openThat One Boss - time for a From Software subpage?
AFAIK FromSoftware have become so well-known for their difficult games that "Dark Souls" has become a byword for a very difficult game, and that another of their games gave birth to quotes like "we get off on your tears".
Two of their franchises (Dark Souls and Bloodborne) already have subpages of their own, and their other games also have That One Boss examples listed for them too.
Is this enough for it to get a subpage?

Shout-Outs Index... Reorganization needed?
It's holding entries from its subtropes, Stock Parodies, and Stock Shout-Outs.
Should those be removed?
Should we list Art Imitates Art subtropes as sub bullets of Art Imitates Art?
And apply that to other tropes?
openOdd Analysis page Videogame
This odd page: Analysis.Luigis Mansion 3 appears to have been created recently by a troper with no other edits called Koedy, and doesn't really have any actual 'analysis' beyond a single sentence that would probably fall under Fridge Brilliance if anything. Should I send it to the cutlist?
openHow can I create a new media page? Literature
I want to create a media page for a book series but I can't see anywhere any button along the lines of "create a new media page".
openUsing other websites as references for trope examples.
Or specifically, I've been recently working / adding stuff on Guacamelee! and its Shout-out page. But let's say this IGN resource page already listed a more detailed compilation of the game's pop-culture references, along with images for the in-game Guacamelee Shout-Out and the external work that is being referenced.
For compilation pages like these, would it be safe if I would just add a hyperlink on the top of the page (or on a specific trope like Shout-Out for the matter) saying something like "Click here for image examples to the pop-culture references"?
Or is it just lazy troping, and it would be better if I ensure that the Shout-Out compilation page won't require others to click a link to external sites?
Lastly, is there a specific set of rules that a troper must follow when linking to external websites other than TV Tropes?
Troper numbahloki16 has a severe indentation issues, as their edits on XMeetsY.Anime And Manga Characters primarily consist of them changing bullet points on examples to four bullet points. See here on the page history, which contains extensive edits of this troper to fill an entire page.
