This is because the character sheet is trying to encompass more narrative-focused articles. You know. What a recap page is supposed to do.

This is an issue, because the recap page would work better for narrative-driven works like 5000, whereas other works like 2085 (which is a far more character-driven piece) would suffer from it. But having recap pages for certain SC Ps and character pages for others would be confusing, especially when there's overlap between.

While we're at it, why is the Foundation categorized as "Wiki" and not "Web Original"? Having it categorized as a wiki means that there's no widget at the top to link to the hub page, and you have to go into the dropdown to find it.

@SCPlhpkmn

Speaking of "Wiki" lacking a widget, "Visual Novel" also lacks a widget, meaning that the "main" page for a work like Fate/stay night and Doki Doki Literature Club! requires going to the end of the subpage list to find it, even going to the "more" button to find it. It's baffling that they haven't made a proper "Visual Novel" widget yet. Sorry if this is a bit of topic, it's just you mentioned it and I wanted to throw my two cents.

That isn't excuse to misused characters sheet. It's only confusing because previous usage of Recap namespace is also wrong, nobody actually write "description" as recap should be, they only dump trope examples. This is throwback to previous discussion, we do not need to list all of the SCP articles in one place. And those namespace aren't mutually exclusive. For example, it's possible to has recap for SCP-076 as an article and then has entry for Able in character sheet. It's the current state that's confusing, the header of SCP-5000 is called Why? yet no character of that name appear at all.

Web Original namespace is only used when the work doesn't fit other namespace. See Administrivia.Namespace.

Then why are you treating them like they are? You eliminate tropes that apply to narrative works from the character sheet, and I'm willing to bet that if a recap page for the Foundation was made, you'd do the same for character tropes made on the recap sheet.

> It's the current state that's confusing, the header of SCP-5000 is called Why? yet no character of that name appear at all.

What would your proposed solution to that be? If you're not willing to have a recap space (which, for most SCP articles, is really hard to do without spoiling the whole thing in the recap) and you're not willing to have narrative tropes appear on a character page, then the solution you seem to be going for is to not have either of those pages and leave people with no way to search the articles.

> Web Original namespace is only used when the work doesn't fit other namespace.

At this point, the Foundation isn't a wiki anymore. It's posted on a wikifarm website, but a wiki lists information about a subject from an out-of-universe perspective— when Wikipedia talks about Harry Potter, they don't discuss it as if Harry, Ron and Hermione are real. The Foundation is a catalog of fiction in a shared unvierse/multiverse, like Whateley Universe (though that's categorized under literature). If you want to talk about inconsistency, why not point that out?

For the record, this entire thing came about because I called out Kuruni for their constant removal of edits by other user on the character pages for the Foundation, and their lack of any constructive edits— they just think that removing examples, commenting out or removing ZCEs without any attempt to fix them, and and posting rude edit comments directed to those who made the edits in the first place and being even ruder to people who attempt to discuss their behavior with them is enough contribution. Should there be standards of quality on this website? Certainly, but that doesn't mean that you need to be rude about it.

Also for the record, after I called them out on this behavior, they proceeded to look through my edit history for 'problematic editing behavior'. I'm just going to let that sit.

SCPIhpkmn, having reviewed all accounts involved, as well as PM exchanges, you seem to have some issue with clean-up editors in general. Clean-ups are constructive and just as legitimate as adding entries themselves. A troper consistently editing pages for misuse and general clean-up is not a personal attack.

I strongly suggest you temper your tone here and re-evaluate your perception of the situation.

Well, I think I'm going to start by remove plot tropes and narrative tropes from the troublesome entries first.

Then it's time to real big clean up. All of character header should be changed to named after character(s) (or thing that can be counted as character for purpose of character sheet) instead of the article's name. Unless someone has better idea (and no, ignoring TV Tropes' rules isn't "better idea. "When you're in TV Tropes, be a troper.")

We do have our Character Page Cleanup thread, though a better idea might be a Short Term Projects thread; seems like a lot of work. That said, Character Pages in general have a lot of tropes that shouldn't be there, so... eh. Either way, a cleanup effort is definitely needed.

My advice is that you should state that if a SCP isn't on the character/recap page, it may be on the other page, and vice versa.
