openTrivia.Arcaea Videogame
Apparently the page got nuked because the only examples were weblink-only examples. However, I wish to add examples that aren't weblinks. Is it ok to start the page again?

openState of Sonic CD 2011 port? Videogame
I was having a bit of a back and forth between Dere in the P Ms because he thinks the 2011 port of Sonic CD is objectively a Porting Disaster, and deleted Polished Port section a couple of months back from its YMMV, even though it was an opinion that it was better. He was citing the amount of bugs in the game to be a Porting Disaster, but from what I’ve experienced in the Sonic community, barely anyone I’ve seen seems to have been hindered by these bugs (including my own personal experience). In fact, they seem to prefer the 2011 version for its widescreen and extra features. I’ve decided to bring this here because I just wanted opinions on what item to put it in.
Btw, how do you pothole a troper’s name?
Edited by PlasmaPoweropenJust Dance page Videogame
Sorry if I bug any of you people, I am new here and I haven't grasp fully everything in this website yet. I notice that some of the pages and content in Just Dance page were kind of lacking and/or outdated. I wish I could help and expand some of the parts, but I really don't know how to and I am afraid that I might crash or cause some damage while editing it.
openYMMV/Tales of Graces Deletion Videogame
Dr Peace deleted a "Values Dissonnace" entry in YMMV/Tales of Graces with a harsh edit reason. I sent the standard "deleting YMMV" PM. I got a response PM back saying that entry was drivel and used a strawman to justify the reason.
The deleted entry stated that it was odd from a Western perspective that a leading researcher would decide to retire to become a housewife as soon as she got engaged to another man. The character is a minor NPC that helps the party in the main quest. I don't remember if the sidequest happened in the main story or the post story, but I do not agree with deleting the entry. The NPC works for a Russia-like country that continuously has energy problems and possible food shortages, and the people are starving and cold. The whole world was close to dying because the Big Bad was stealing all the world's energy.
How do these YMMV deletions get solved? Like I said earlier, I'd rather keep the entry but it's unclear what is considered "factually correct."
open Baldr Sky Videogame
I would like to recreate the Baldr Sky page (still locked because of P5), since it was released on Steam this december with an all-age edition of sorts, which removes all explicit sexual content: https://sekaiproject.com/blogs/news/baldr-sky-changes
Edited by ItasioopenEquipmentUpgrade that is merely aestetic? Videogame
Alright, so I was starting to pothole the trope in relation to former Master Skins in Heroes of the Storm -which, for context, look like normal base skins that have been upgraded to look more veteran-like (think of a Warrior with bigger pauldrons, beefier swords, a Cool Helmet, what have you). Then I notice that "In this context, upgrade only means an upgrade in terms of gameplay, not flavour or story. So, switching out different pieces of equipment, even if they're upgrades In-Universe, doesn't count". So I'm not quite sure it would fit this trope anymore, there are a few subtropes listed but not one that would fit better: an Equipment Upgrade that is entirely for aestetic purposes and carries no other changes to the gameplay. Am I missing it, should I carry on and pothole it anyway? Does the trope exist but i didn't see it?
openBribing Your Way to Victory - Subversions Videogame
The recent edit for Love Live! School Idol Festival ALL STARS has the following edit under Bribing Your Way to Victory:
Subverted in using Skip Ticket, as long as you finished S rank in any difficulty of a song, you may spend any amount of Skip Ticket and the corrsponding amount of LP to finish the song instantly (without actually playing it) for same difficulty, despite no extra treasure box (and some progress that mentioned "except lives with Skip Ticket") will be given, they are equivent to finishing S Grade with chosen team(even with teams impossible to achieve it) as many times as you use the Skip Ticket, allowing quick progess of event/upgrades.
Does this count as a subversion? As far as I know, this trope is basically paying for advantages in games using real life money. Subverting this means you still pay something using real life money but for something that could be worthless or underwhelming in game.
The main thing is that Skip Tickets are free in-game, being rewarded to players for completing goals. As far as I know, you cannot get any more of them by paying real money.
Edited by lenne18openEdit War on Three Houses Videogame
We've got an edit war brewing on https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Characters/FireEmblemThreeHousesMainProtagonists, specifically under Inadequate Inheritor under Edelgard's folder.
Since Edelgard is an EXTREMELY divisive character in the fanbase, I wanted to raise a general alert so this can be handled smoothly before things start spiraling.
Specifically, user Troykv removed some lines attributing the Bigger Bads' actions to her own, only for user Omega Radiance to add those lines back hours later, both edits happening today.
Edited by RaxisopenFrivolous EnsembleDarkhorse Deletion? Videogame
Troper noffgivin has deleted the Ensemble Dark Horse entry for Nugget the chicken from Yakuza 0 (as well as removed any external links from the entry above) without giving a reason for it. I re-added the entry, pointing out in comments that it fits the requirements (Nugget is indeed a minor sidequest character who became unexpectedly popular with the fanbase when the game was still Japanese-only, to the point that one of the sequels features its offspring, just as the trope describes) and that they did not provide a good reason to delete it. However, they have since deleted it again, and still do not provide a reason for it.
For that matter, they have been purging external links to Youtube and Reddit posts from all the YMMV pages for Yakuza, although I don't think links like that go against rules, and if anything are used to support the entries by providing important context and sources. Given that no other YMMV pages have been affected by this including more heavily trafficked ones I don't think there's been a new rule placed against the use of external links on YMMV pages so I'm not sure what their goal is.
Edited by AlleyOopopenHelp me find tropes for a Psychopath! Videogame
So there is a character who is really weird, even comical if he wasn't so dangerous. He is not The Sociopath, although he appears to be trying.
The description describes him as follows:
"Alonso Graves is a man disturbed. A former soldier of the Empire, war transformed his soul forever. The disdain and misanthropy within him can only momentarily be silenced by the blood of his former masters. Believing himself now to be a god, he is intent on "freeing" all he can from the shackles of human existence."
In game, Alsonso is the weakest of the "Expert" AI in his game, Anno 1800. He is utterly unpredictable and may declare war if he feels like it, but he is not someone with a Chronic Backstabbing Disorder.
This makes it hard to find proper tropes for him.
Edited by LyefyreopenHomoerotica in Dead to Rights Videogame
Someone deleted my example of some HoYay type stuff from the first [[Dead to Rights]] that I had put in the YMMV section. I'm going to put these forward what I had originally posted to see if I can or should put them back up and how I can list them better if you think I have a valid argument. Please note that I wrote the entry on Camp that has since been abridged. But from what all I've read on the subject of Camp is that there usually is a touch of the gay about it. Indeed, it is a gay way of looking at things, so I maybe the only one who sees this.
Here are my arguments
1) When Jack takes a bad guy as a human shield, it appears he's humping the man.
2) Sickle, the evil warden of the prison Jack ends up in during level three, seems a little too thrilled at the thought of executing Jack.
3) Jack comes across a prisoner in a cell named Timmy. Timmy says of another inmate named Mad Dog: "Man, Mad Dog is going to tear me up tonight! Hallelujah!"
4) Jack describes one of the bad guys, Patch, as "dresses kind of frilly". He's also one of two villains that is able to lay Jack out outside of battle. For Patch, it's with gold plated Luger. Also, his boss fight involves him popping up from the backseat of a limo and firing missiles from a rocket launcher..
5) After offing Augie Blatz, Patch places his gold Luger on Blatz's lap, angled in a suggestive manner.
6) The second villain that takes down Jack, Rafshoon Diggs, does so by going for Jack's balls.
7) What is the first name of the main bad guy Jack is after? Dick.
8) Three levels in the game are set in a Disco, a Prison, and a seedy waterfront harbor, all of which have had connotations associated in fiction with homosexual activity.
9) At least three of the villains (Fahook, Hennessy, and a minor boss called Antorcha all involve attacks that make them "flaming". Fahook even has his shirt off during his boss battle, showing off his ripped body while Hennessy runs around in a rather tight tank top and showing off his muscular arms while jets of fire and steam erupt all around him and Jack.
10) The boss fight against Mayor Pinnacle involves Jack climbing onto the big man's back and ''taking his breath away". Also, one of the insults Pinnacle can throw at Jack is calling him a "sissy fairy".
11) The cutscene leading into the second to last level involves Jack entering through the backside of a plane, guns blazing.
I leave this to you, the Troper Jury, to decide.

Edited by nombretomadoopenHow come there is no Characters page for COD:IW Zombies? Videogame
There is a handle for cod ww2 zombies and treyarch zombies as a whole, how come there isn’t one for IW Zombies? And can we make a trope page for them?
openMoving a page to Useful Notes Videogame
A while back (maybe around two or so years ago), in the TLP crash rescue thread, I brought up VideoGame.Game Genie since it lacks trope examples. I said I thought it should be moved to UsefulNotes.Game Genie, since it's a way to tinker with games' code, rather than being a game itself. Only one person responded; Fighteer said he agreed with that idea, but that post wasn't marked as a mod statement (i.e., the post wasn't highlighted in red/pink), so I wasn't sure if I had permission.
Would moving the page to Useful Notes require a TRS thread, or is posting this on ATT enough? VideoGame.Mii was moved to UsefulNotes.Mii earlier this year without TRS, but I don't know if the consensus was gathered on ATT or the forums, so I wasn't sure.
Edit: It looks like VideoGame.Game Shark is in the same boat as VideoGame.Game Genie.
Edited by GastonRabbitopenMisuses of the POV Cam trope Videogame
So, one thing I have noticed while cleaning up the Video Game pages is that P.O.V. Cam trope is sometimes just stuck onto any game that's played from a first-person perspective. Here's the latest example: Your Toy.
I mean, that's textbook Trope Decay, right? Given its relative prominence (this is like the fifth time I see this, and I am sure doing a wick search will reveal a few more), should we outright amend the trope page itself to clarify that's 'not what it's meant to be about?
openMortal Kombat X Quotes Videogame
There are several quotes that are gone from the page such as "Match Intro Dialogue", "Generic Mid-Fight/Round Win One-Liners", and "Unique Mid-Fight/Round Win One-Liners". From what I see they used to be moved to Mortal Kombat X Storyline Quotes before they were moved back to the main Quotes page. However, the only things left are opening and comic quotes with those three I've mentioned above are gone. I've tried to use the history page, found the quotes and tried to preview the changes. And while I seemingly can recover many, there are some are gone from the history like Alien and Triborg, my guess that they used to be on Mortal Kombat X Storyline Quotes. So, can said page be restored or I just have to use the ones with some missing things on the main quotes page?
